Well if that’s the reaction Klopp expected against palace then we may as well pack up for the season, why we have gone back to the tried and failed tactics he chooses to play is beyond me.

In fairness we looked like we were playing with flip flops on. Some of those boys looked like they’ve checked out for the summer.

Not saying this is the reason for the capitulation that’s just occurred this past week, as we’ve seen periods like this under Klopp before, but there’s a reason a team hasn’t won the PL with the thurs-sun schedule.

Causing chaos doesn't win game's, finishing half chances win game's. When can we have an opinion on nunez not being up to liverpool standard.
Sadly mo has lost a yard of pace, and diaz isn't no mané from the left, Yet the player i feel we haven't replaced most is hendo, a leader who always kept the players on their toes from the first minute to the last. Big van is to nice to be captain. And i don't see anyone else up to the job.

Why so obsessed with replacing players. Players come and go. You move onto something new.
Mane was class and so was Hendo. You cannot find like for like. It's impossible.
Same with Klopp. He's irreplaceable so go with something new and different.

Ed1.regardless of todays defeat. they way we go behind nearly every game , surely the backroom staff address it or do they just continue to think we can just turn things around . I know what I'm asking seems obvious but it happens all the time . makes me doubt that they actually consider sorting it.

{Ed001's Note - they have made it clear that they just think we should do plan A better.}

A real shame that Klopp's tenure at the club had to end like this, that he would win one trophy in his final year. However, I am honestly really looking forward to the future.

Klopp has been the best Liverpool manager I have seen in my lifetime, lived 30 years and no better has come around. However, he always struck me as a great motivator and man manager, rather than a tactically efficient savant. A manager whose stubbornness and faith in players has come back to bite him, not to mention his rigidity and inability to adapt his tactics to deal with pressing concerns.

I feel like we need a new style, a new way of playing. We have so many offensive options that should excite us and yet, on the opposite side, players that are either past it or surplus to requirements. For me, Salah should be sold, he will never fetch a higher price than now, especially with a year left on his contract and signs of his body slowing down significantly. I would also sell Nunez, but I understand that people will be against this. I think he is a poor striker personally, but feel free to disagree.

We also need a new backline: Konate can not be trusted to stay fit and should only be a squad player. Van Dijk is getting on in age and may look elsewhere, also don't believe he is captain material. I believe the captaincy has improved his performance, but not his ability to actually lead the group through troubled times. Say what you want about Hendo, but he would always demand more and verbally make this point, rather than what Van Dijk does which is look at a player who made a mistake and shake his head before looking away, which has happened a number of times.

Quansah, I am very happy about, I think he will be a useful squad player with the potential for more. Bradley and Robbo, keep. Tsimikas, sell and I won't say anymore because my feelings on him are not kind. Trent, move to midfield and see if he takes to it. Gomez, he's been very poor recently but can not discount the performances this season, a good squad player.

Our midfield, for me, we have a good number of quality players here, we just need a system that can get the best out of them. Also, we need a DM, to support and rest Endo when needed, rather than rely on our first choice CM being our back up DM. Not getting someone like Andre in Jan for me was a massive oversight because we hauled more work on Endo's back, a 31 year old, that had not played to this intensity. Great signing though Endo, my Player of the Year personally.

Our strike force, I really don't like the blend we have, I feel like they don't complement each other. Many on the chat knows my feelings on Nunez, so I will not repeat, but to put it simply, I think he is one of our worst big priced signings ever. Diaz, he dribbles in circles but never makes much of it, lacks a clinical edge too. Salah, mentioned before past it. Jota, too injury prone to be relied upon. Gakpo, made to play in so many positions that it is any wonder he is struggling.

There is an awful lot of work to do, from staff recruitment to player recruitment. And, I hope we get it right. But, whatever happens, I want to see a new formation and strategy in place, something to make us less predictable, which Klopp has, unfortunately.

Things may feel dark now, but I am honestly excited for the future. A fresh start, no more sentimentality (Which was Klopp's greatest weakness) and a chance to see a new look Liverpool. Could be wrong, of course, but I am honestly really excited for what comes next.

Maybe it’s easier this way letting go of the Klopp era than if we won the quadruple. Only crumb I can find right now tbh. You’ve highlighted all the negatives of the players and most are right. Does that mean Klopp has over achieved getting them to win a trophy and be up there until this stage of the season as city and Arsenal seem to have much better players. Is it klopps fault nunez, Salah are way off form and can’t hit a barn door over last few crucial weeks when we needed them to step up not get off the plate entirely (Jota and jones also today) . Devastating last few weeks but all good things come to an end.

I’m not “hearing anything” and I have no source just my own observations and opinion.

I think the next manager is De Zerbi.
He knows the premier league.
He has worked with Mac Allister
He has lost Caicedo and Mac Allister but has kept Brighton “over achieving.
Klopp was bigging him up after the last game.

I just think it’s him and I wouldn’t shed a tear if he brought Evan Fergusson with him.

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath Ron.}

Thanks Ed002, De Zerbi, Fergusson or both?

{Ed002's Note - De Zerbi - and Liverpool have shown no interest in Ferguson.}

It'll be Amorim.

Just seen the line up for the CP game; that’s the strongest bench we have had for a while.

At the beginning of the season most people were predicting maybe a top four finish because of all the changes. On top of that we have suffered more injuries than I can remember and I’ve been a fan for 45 years.

We are in with a shout and that is remarkable. Let’s enjoy it and push all the way,
