Evening Eds,

What are your thoughts on Frederik Sorenson, the CB from Bologna. I am an avid watcher of Italian football and this guy looks a class act! Still only 19 aswell. Is he a possibility?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Most unlikely right now.}

World class defender

Owned by Juve isn't he?

He plays for juve, no? {Ed002's Note - He is on loan at Bologna.}

09 Apr 2012 22:34:51
Ed what are the chances or buying either Dries Mertens or Adam Johnson? {Ed016's Note - Johnson has been in our sights for a few windows now, It depends how the season ends for city, a new manager could see Johnson as an integral part of the team}

Always buy English

Hi Eds, any recent news on Hiolett?

I'd love to see Sterling given a proper run in the team until the end of the season and signing Hoilett would probably mean he gets put back again but at least he's proven in the Prem, free and young. Surely he has to be one of the highest priorities to be looked at in the summer?

FatJanMolby {Ed001's Note - no interest as far as I am aware, from either side, I believe he is already decided on where he is going.}

Where is that please Eds? {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, that was all I heard.}

Spurs?

FatJanMolby

To Ed001, is your response saying that Hoilett already picked a team other than Liverpool to join? thanks. {Ed001's Note - yes, I believe so.}

Sterling is still very light weight. I'd play him towards the end of matches with defenders legs starting to weigh heavy with 15-20 mins left on the clock.

It would do him and his confidence great to get past a few defenders and getting a good taste of 1st team football ahead of next season.

Hi there new to this site, is there any truth in Suarez leaving in the summer, as we have nothing to offer top players at the moment, I can't see us attracting big players. We will be lucky to finish top 10 the way things are going.
Just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel,
What do you think about Saturday, I'm worried

Pb

So far this season suarez has got one cup winners medal and is only 2 games from another. He has had the full backing of lfc over his racisim allegations and an acceptance of all his former problems at other clubs. i think he'd do well to stay at lfc and spend a year or 2 cleaning up his act.

Not only new to the site, you must be new to the planet. Liverpool supporters never doubt their teams ability to rise to the occasion. Sleep peacefully everything will be okay. YNWA

Ed have we had any scouts watching the young notts county keeper who man u and tottenham have been watching? {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

09 Apr 2012 21:20:55
Hi eds I was wondering if you had any information on Kerim Frei. I know that Liverpool had him watched several times at youth and reserve levels. However, now that he has made his EPL debut he will be looked at by a greater audience. Is he available for transfer or has Martin Jol decided to make him an integral part of the Fulham side? {Ed002's Note - You have MOTD fever - you need to lay down for a while.}

Are you telling me that LFC have never had him watched? My cousin is married to an Everton physio and he told me that both Merseyside clubs had him looked at on several occasions. However, I'll pass on the message that you believe that he was mistaken and needs to lie down then...at least he'll be in a place where he will get good medical attention. :)

He has played extremely well every time I've seen him play...a grand total of 4 but he does look very good

GuvTOB

Lmao i was waiting for that

Hi Eds n Macca.

What is your opinion on Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. Any chance of him finally making the right decision and joining us? {Ed002's Note - Signed for Sporting Lisbon in the summer but less than a year later we know of confirmed interest from Lazio, Fiorentina, Spurs and Newcastle and on goining rumoured interest from Manchester United and Liverpool. Sporting said they will talk to interested parties who offer 20M euros or more - about four times what they paid in the summer.}

09 Apr 2012 20:32:28
Do the Ed's know if Luuk De Jong is interesting Liverpool this Summer?

Also do you know if Luuk De Jong is interested in Liverpool? Or is he looking the ways of Inter, Arsenal, Dortmund for example?

I think he's a great choice of transfer if we could bring him in, also what is Drenthe situation at Everton? As he looks powerful and pacey with maybe a knocked down price.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - De Jong will likely make the European Championship squad this summer and will be one of those being watched by a number of clubs from Italy, Germany and England. Interest has been shown by Liverpool, Lille and Newcastle over recent months but any waning interest from Newcastle has now been replaced by firm interest from both Dortmund and Hamburg. It has been suggested to me that Lazio are looking to Luuk De Jong as a replacement for Tommaso Rocchi.}

Just wondering eds but did he not say he the premier league is where he wants to play if any teams will have him? {Ed002's Note - He would cedrtainly accept a move to Liverpool.}

I used the search function to find out Drenthe's situation and read he's a free contract in the Summer.

I hope Liverpool make a move, looks good in possession from what i've seen and has a mean shot. I've read he has had discipline issues in the past but would be a very good attacking recruitment for a good price.

Any Liverpool interest in him or is it just recycled paper gossip?

09 Apr 2012 20:24:05
Any interest in Fulhams Dembele , think he's a really good player and would fit well in are side {Ed002's Note - None right now.}

Good signing but Adam Johnson better player

09 Apr 2012 20:18:23
HI Eds no rumour or gossip but if we are looking for an understudy for Pepe do you know if smithies has been looked at? As it would be nice to see an english keeper for once
LeeWils {Ed002's Note - I really don't know that he has Lee.}

Cheers anyway ED

09 Apr 2012 19:45:00
How about Ben Arfa for one of our wings Eds? I know he hasn't nessecarily been linked with us, but surely an offer of £12m won't do any harm.

He is a pacy, skilful winger who knows where the goal is, and has shown he can play at the top level.

Would be a great addition to our wings, along with Hoillett on a free!

Your thoughts please?

Thanks for your time. {Ed002's Note - I don't see it happening. Sorry.}

Ben Afra Hatem loves the Newcastle fans, club and the support they both showed him when his leg got snapped by Nigel De Jong.

He's become a firm fan favourite and he loves it there, according to his own words.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Torres tell us that he would honour his contract about 1 month before he left?

I'm not saying that everyone is the same, but it has happened before!

Great player but he is starting to become a absolute star in a team that are on the up I think he would be foolish to move

Great player? He shoots when he should pass. He is also disruptive for the squad simply wikipedia him and read. He refused to warm up, got into fights with previous squad members. He's a talent with no head.

09 Apr 2012 19:09:21
Hi eds, great job. Just wondering read a while ago Liverpool were interested in Granit Xhaka, or summats like from Basel. Just wondering if you knew of any current interest and any chance of a profile? {Ed002's Note - Granit Xhaka has attracted interest from Juventus, Manchester United, Hamburg, Lazio, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray with CSKA seeming to be still pushing very hard for a deal. However, Moenchengladbach are leading the chase right now and it looks increasingly likely that a deal will be done for perhaps a little over 7M euros.}

09 Apr 2012 18:54:56
@FootyLeak:Exclusive:Representatives From Liverpool have formally Approached the Agents of José Mourinho & Löw for the Manager job,

Seen this do u guys know if there is anything in it,He would want some budget to come here? {Ed002's Note - I assume one of your Twitter gurus. It is nonsense.}

No just seen it on facebook.Dont believe in all that Twitter s**te,But just thought i would say it to you Guys! {Ed002's Note - Well if it is from Facebook it has to be true.}

This is 100% fact. hughesboy

Since Barcelona will win the Clasico will win la Liga and will win the Champions League after brushing aside Chelsea...whats Mou got to play for?

I bet Dalglish will blind Henry and be at the club next season

Madrid are top of La Liga or Premira Liga, whatever they call it Real are flying high 8 points clear last time i looked before the weekend.

Lol with his 24 followers, definitely an insider im ;)

Real are only 4 points clear with the clasico at Nou Camp to play...i make that a 1 point lead. And they look atm like dropping that point.

09 Apr 2012 18:39:30
Liverpool are set to sign the chelsea striker sturridge on a 2 year deal

I know there has been interest from Liverpool and i know that Chelsea want to keep him.

Even when they had Torres, Drogba, Lukaku and Anelka. So unless Roman has big plans, i'm not sure.

I think he'd be very good for Liverpool though and he'd certainly get game time.

And if we were able to get him, we'd only give him a 2 year contract??

stop talking s**t kid

09 Apr 2012 18:36:51
Take this as you will.

Just been talking to a mate of mines who told me about the Henderson deal, the Coates deal, and the Andy Carroll deal before they broke to the media. Tells me very few things, as he says he finds out few things, but the stuff he does find out and has told me about has always been bang on.

He has told me that Soldado is pretty much a done deal. Agents have been spoken to and Soldado is very keen on the move, and Valencia are keen to sell as Soldado and the manager have had a falling out. They want 25 million for him, we are prepared to go to it but trying to negotiate it down. My mate said though if at any point we fear the deal could fall through we will tie it up at 25M.

Said we were considering Huntelaar aswell, and that he has a 17M release clause, only reason we have went Soldado is he is 2 years younger, and will be on a lesser wage, supposedly around 25k less than Huntelaar wanted.

Like I said, take this as you will, with a pinch of salt, but this guy has been spot on with the 3 or 4 bits of info he has told me in the past.

Mentioned Torres was considered but Chelsea wanted close to 20M.

What's your name mate, I'd like to keep tabs on this. Yes Macca has mentioned this but the way you're writing seems to add a little more substance.

Papa G

Hope this is true

Sounds great! Have you been told if we make it official before the Euro Champioships or after that? Heard anything about wingers? But yes I'll better not get too excited before its on the Lfc website!

I already cleared this up yesterday. There was no falling out soldado was benched due to illness

Nevada

What's to say that they haven't fell out though Nevada?

Ruined it with the last sentence mate, sorry.

How did your mate reveal the Carroll deal when its well documented that he was only signed on transfer deadline day after our initial targets didnt work out. Im pretty sure that nobody including Kenny knew we were buying Carroll until hours before?

I hope your right I just question your source

Kev the Red

Got mixed feelings on this. not that itll happen. but if your lieing

Nevada mate whether or not their is a falling out I do not know but Soldado said himself that he was not ill at half time of the madrid game.

Basically the club said he was ill when he was not.

Why would we think torres to expensive @ 20 mill or less? {Ed002's Note - It is not true. Liverpool did not approach Chelsea.}

Other than soldado, any wingers or attacking midfielders have u heard?

People are such mugs. A deal this big would get leaked on the mainstream media quite quickly therefore this is bulls**t. We may well sign him but I doubt we would have approached him just yet

Soldado didnt play simply the fact that they had a game on thursday. if he was sick, why did he come on as a sub? makes no sense. im not saying that soldado had a fall out with the coach, im saying that illness doesnt sound right. fatigue? topal, pablo hernandez didnt start either.

Bilbao did the same thing two weeks ago when muniain, llorente, and herrera didnt play.

SLURed

Right lets just get this out there so the dreamers can come back, hes at a champions league club the main striker, challenging in a way at the top of the league, one over 100k a week take home, and they value you him at 30 million plus, real madrid are keen on taking him back, inter have been tracking him, the two top teams in their divisions and playing champions league football, its well documented that he has no interest in coming to england, there is more chance of me climbing in a pillow and figuring out the art of flight, its a simple choice of champions league football, earning more money than hes already on, remember for him to earn his 100k plus take home hes on now hed need wages of like 150k over here because of tax, same reason aguero said hed only join city its because of the take home on their salaries, you really think soldado is going to take a wage drop, no champions league football, and a drop in the quality of players round him, cummon lets be serious now, and torres for under 20 million, wobble your head, hes coming back into some form and that anzhi got told he wasnt for sale when they offered 40 million, but yeah we'd try test the water at less than half that, nonsense is what you have wrote, like the fella that said bolongas ramirez was about to sign, yet his agent earlier today confirmed a deal with napoli is immenent, its like you go on fifa see who is boss sign them and then post a rumour, its more likely the podolski, krasic, jovetic, mvilla type players we will look at, thats not me saying they are targets either just that sort of calibre, not quite world class but improve are team and are available for transfer, we cant attract a player who is worth the 30/40 million mark at the moment, your hazards, cavanis, javi martinez, munian, higuain type players just arnt coming, its all about money and champions league, and they will all get it!

Hi eds if /when suarez leaves what do you think will happen with Coates? seems like a great player for the future but with no suarez will he look to move too? andy h {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

He's half scottish. Hence Coates. He won't go anywhere

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that he's part scottish, but i also vaguely remember reading that he's having trouble with the language, or possibly the lifestyle. One of them doesn't add up, just don't know what one.

Rugby Parker {Ed002's Note - He arrived not speaking English.}

09 Apr 2012 18:15:17
Hi eds what players look most likely to depart? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

09 Apr 2012 17:39:13
Hey Eds

I for one am a very worried Liverpool fan. We cannot go on spending money on players who fail to perform week in week out. How much time for example do we give Andy Carroll? I was a fan of him when he was at Newcastle but not for one minute did i see him as a player who could push Liverpool forward. It's plain to see he is a trouble maker with his antics off the pitch so why the hell did we sign him? Stuart downing as we know is a good player but not great in my eye's and just by looking at his stats for this season you can see why we have waste 20million on him, surely we could have signed better. Jordan Henderson a good young player, never worth what we paid for him and should never have been signed, again only my opinion. Charlie Adam was signed for his deadball skills and to cover for the loss of Raul Meireles who backed out of every 50-50 going! Well i have news for you, Charlie Adam is slow beyond belief, can't tackle and give's away more fouls than anybody.We waste money like there is no tomorrow, Our league form is so bad it shocking. Now we have watsed vast amounts of money that we wont get back, so where do we go from here? Iker muniain and Roberto Soldado have been linked with us why the hell did we not make moves for these guy's in the 1st place. We would not be where we are now that's for sure.

Thatracoonstolemybacon

I'm in full agreement with you.

In fact. We succeeded in clearing out a load of deadwood at the end oflast season. Only to be replaced by hugely more expensive and even deader wood.
Bellamy is the only worthwhile signing. The rest are utterly useless

Absolutely spot on.
We've spent a lot of money on rubbish. And its this reason why are league form has been so bad. Too many players who either aren't ready or aren't good enough.
Andy Carroll is the worst I've ever seen.

I have to agree.

Adam was good at Blackpool, but has faded away at Liverpool since Gerrard returned. He isn't Liverpool quality.

Downing was Ok at Villa, and has done little since signing. He isn't consistant enough but when he does cross the ball there is no one there, as our number 9 is normally walking up the pitch like he is out walking the dog.

Henderson, can't say too much about him as I had never heard much of him until we signed him. Maybe he will get a second season. He needs to toughen up and get stuck in. He is too light weight at the moment.

Carroll was great at Newcastle and yet has done nothing for Liverpool. He has no desire on the pitch and it seems he doesn't care one bit. I can only hope we get shut of him in the summer. He has been a waste of space in a Liverpool shirt. Hopefully someone else will buy him from us and we will make a loss on him.

We need to be very carefull who we buy in the summer. Statistics don't tell the full picture. Attitude and what players get up to off the pitch need to be considered more now than ever.

Gaz1975.

Cud not agree more, particularly the last line!

Adam Henderson downing can be good squad players. Don't forget Liverpool apsaloutly destroyed teams early in the season with these guys playing, just couldn't finish teams off...
We do need to replace them but not sell them. Agree get rid of Carroll he acts like he's a top top player, bad attitude! He should be busting a nut to try get in the team. He's a joke. Keep the rest just sign some much better quality players.
YNWA

I like henderson. the rest tho..... no

Out of all of them Carroll is the only one that has to go, the others aren't bad players. Carroll's ability is awful, his desire is non existant. I'm from liverpool and have heard friends recant tales on more than one occasion about bumping into Carroll on nights out. One such occasion was Peacocks in liverpool were he was gettin bladdered by all accounts and had loads of girls hanging around him. It's story's like this that make you sick to think 35 million pounds was spent on this guy. Henderson on the other hand doesn't drink and is a model professional....i know which one will become a star for this club in the future.

Honestly do you think adam and henderson would be playing if Lucas was fit? No, Adam is a squad player and henderson is one for the future much like shelvey. Leave the lad alone and let him try. Since I cant accuse him of not trying this season. As the guy before said He is a model professional he trains every day

I thinking Downing is a decent player, we can hardly complain about his lack of assists when basically he has no one to assist. If we had a decent striker who could get on the end of crosses then Downing stats would look a lot different this season.

100% yer man!!

Hey there Eds

Sochaux is in the relegation zone right now in Ligue 1 and if they were to be relegated, do you think Boudebouz and Martin be available in the summer? And do you know if Liverpool is interested in them?

Thanks and cheers

SLURed {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux and PSG, Real Betis and Lyon are showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now. Dortmund, Lille, Lorient and Anderlecht have enquired after Marvin Martin, but Valencia and Arsenal have been most serious in the pursuit of the Socheaux player. I suspect a move in the summer is possible.}

09 Apr 2012 17:22:07
hey eds , what strikers and wingers are we after ,please answer and post , thanks keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

What a question -.-. For the last two days we have been talking about this

09 Apr 2012 17:12:21
Hi eds and all,
We have been discussing our possible targets for next season for the first team and known players...
I wana ask about the "young" players that liverpool have interset for next season...
I heard we were interseted in for example the feyenoord youngster de vilheana and powell of crewe...
Anyone know of other names weve linked or interested in?
Thanx

Dan Smith, Marco Bueno, Joel Pohjanpalo, Max Clayton, Mason Bennett, Nathan Redmond, Armin Hodzic

We wont get them all obviously, but some will come and all have been watched.

Dodge

Grant Hanley of Blackburn is a clear potential young target tipped to be better than phil jones by David Dunn :) friend of a friend!

We can have all the best young players on earth but if we never give them time on the pitch. we dont play our youngsters enough imo like sterling/suso. if your good enough your old enough

To the poster above me - they are not physically and mentally developed enough in the game just yet. They're little. And look what happened with Owen and Fowler!

Good enough, I don't think they are good enough YET. They definitely have it all there. They're sixteen years old.

Let them develop, they aren't going to save this season so why crush their confidence even more!?

McSnuggles

09 Apr 2012 17:08:45
First post on here so not to sure if this will be shown, i have been on this site now for a couple of years and i have to say it is the best rumour site available, I do not have any news about players coming in or going out , i have no sources or claim to be the brother or son of someone connected with football or liverpool.
What i believe will happen before the start of new season is. > dalglish will be replaced by a high profile manager , my gut feeling that the americans will break the bank for mourinho, i do believe given the right funds he would jump at the chance of coming to anfield (new challenge for him to do get liverpool back to the top. I also believe that time is up for |Gerrard and Carragher , these 2 players are causing problems with the team and it is impossible to move forward with these 2 players. the remaining games will see some of the younger players coming through and |Sterling, coady, and especially suso ( who in my mind will blow the rest away). Mourinho will bring in 3 world class players in and off load 5 top players from Liverpool. It is now time to move on and start challenging for the title and champions league. .Do i have a source maybe i do.... hughesboy.

Mark my words mate...if Mourinho becomes manager many fans will give up their seats. Fact.

DaveyBootle

Hmmmm well considering Mourinho publicly stated he would never manage liverpool id say your gut is a bit dodgy mate

I stopped reading when u said Mourinho! Bwa ur havin a laugh!

Good post mate sounds possible, and jose did say that one day he would manage steve gerrard .

I can't believe what some people say about Gerrard?
This lad has dragged us through 10yrs of also-ran title challenges, and won us cups.
You forget too easy how much he's given us.

The Americans will nothing of the sort. They are a slow and steady operation and will treat LFC in that manner. A new manager might be called in at the end of the season, but I doubt very much it'll be JM, football unfortunately just doesn't work that way.

With that said mind you, any new manager will have his work cut out for him and will need to clear the decks and be provided with one hell a of a kitty.

Stevie G can stay as long as he likes! He bagged a hat trick against the bitters only a few weeks ago need I remind you.

If scolesy and gigsy continue, why can't stevie G, arguably the best midfielder of his generation. mourinho does not fit liverpool's philosophies and ethos and dont want to see him at anfield.

Cant see the owners spending the amount of cash needed to make mourinho happy, carragher is a squad player now but stevie g is still the MAN as far as i am concerned,and we need to keep luis no matter what, his skill and ability to create chances are by far above anyone else in the team,problem is half the team are crap and are unable to match his quality so our plays just fizzle out

Utter nonsense!

Why would Mourinho have any interest in LFC...we don't have the funds to pay his salary never mind the hundreds of millions he will want to assemble a new team. You think he's going to sit around and field a team with Carroll, Adam and Henderson??

Besides, we don't need to be wasting money to line Mourinho's pocket when those funds would be better served on actual talent.

Secondly, you lost all credibility when you suggested that Gerrard's time is up...sure he's slowed down from his peak but, he's nowhere near done...he's got unfinished business with LFC and surround him with quality players (which does not mean the most expensive players necessarily) and you will see a rejuvinated Stevie G. that will bring back the glory days for him and for LFC.

Hughesboy...let's hope you do have a source spewing this nonsense because otherwise, the ridiculous ideas in this post can only be attributed to you!

Digital Man

Look at all the replies to this rumour, all completely different of opinions and all see a different game.They used to say us liverpool fans know our football but seeing how we are all so way off the mark.
We do need mourinho,it would not take millions,gerrard still our best player with suarez and yes carra just a squad player

Why would we want that person anywhere near ? seriously, avoid like the plague. he will probably be sacked at end of season and will go to city, perfect plastic club for him. i think we will get AVB in and give him the time and money needed

Dalglish is our manager. he lives and breathes liverpool. if he can't do it we may as well give up and go home. we have had a bad run of games. key word is run, we were mugged by arsenal and mugged by most teams. you forget last year we were almost in administration and were in the relegation zone. support the team instead of being fairweather fans

I do worry about some things people post on here, its crazy, this post couldnt be further from the truth. agree with some of the comments - good to know im not the only sane lfc fan left!

Hi, this is not a rumour but i hope you'll publish it on the rumours forum as i'd like certain people to read it.

The reason i'm writing in is because, as a regular visitor to this site i'm thoroughly digusted at the desire of certain so called 'fans' to remove Kenny Dalglish from the position of team manager.

I've been a fan for 39 years and i've suffered the ups and downs and tragedies surrounding the club and the city. I've experienced the highs of 5 european cups and numerous FA cups and league titles. I've also experienced the lows of Heysel and Hillsborough. And like most supporters, we've stuck together, appreciated what we've got and hoped for a brighter future. And no-one has done more or been a better example of this than Kenny Dalglish.

Here is a man who is heralded in most quarters as our greatest ever player. Here is a man who took on an ageing team, re-vitalised it and won titles and cups in his first spell as manager. Here is a man who suffered a nervous breakdown after Hillsborough yet still attended funerals and maintained control of the team. Here is a man who as done more for this club and city than any other.

Yet all of that counts for nothing in the tiny minds of certain people who cannot even give the man the courtesy of a full season in charge to sort out an enormous mess, before they start to call for his head.

You lot should be ashamed of yourselves because i'm ashamed of you. This club is a club of the people. We play the right way and we look after our own. When we say 'you'll never walk alone' we mean it. It isn't just a song, it's a way of life. Perhaps some people who want to win regardless and want it now should learn what it means to be a Liverpool supporter. If you can't then i'd suggest you h*** off and whine at some other club.

The greatest post i've seen on here by a long long way.

Will u b giving the same lecture if kenny gets us relegated next season... All us Liverpool supporters love kenny but it's common sense he's out of touch ....

Yes and to go with evrything you've said we've won our first trophy in six years with kenny ok the leagues gone bad but i think we had alot of bad luck and create enough chances but dont finish them so a quality striker is priority. he deserves another season and a bit of support and loyalty. i didnt realise he went to as many funerals as possible after hillsbrough which says a lot about the man. just think he has to be shrewd with his next signings they have to work out, give him another season at least. and dont forget stil in with a chance with the fa cup....redman matt

Well said,totally agree
Lee73

Well said we all feel the pain when we lose and king kenny is no different were playing very good attractive football making a lot of chances we just need someone to finish them and the table would look a lot different.

Mickleburg

Brilliant post. Uve made me look at myself n question myself on why i am so angry to want Kenny out so soon. Infact, uve changed my mind about Kenny going after a long think about everything uve said. Listen to this guy fellow fans and lets get behind our boys n get some results n points. No good in moaning like i have been. YNWA clarkchenko7

Agree 100%

All of us fans who pay to watch Liverpool are entitled to an opinion! I too am frustrated by the results this season as is everyone else. Unfortunately kk isn't the
Man to take the club forward, his record in the transfer market speaks for itself. Very poor to say the least. The players he bought last summer have been of championship quality! If he remains in charge that's where we will be
Playing our football. Do the decent think Kenny for the sake of the club and the fans.

Finally a man with sense, kenny will turn this club around, i genuinely believe that cos he loves the club and the fans to much to see us (his family) suffer, i guarentee nobody is hurting more than the king himself, it amazes me when people say hes out of touch, except for luis suarez every other player he has bought has premier league experience so the players must be good enough i feel they just need to settle in to a new club and city, i for one is 110% behind kenny ynwa

I could not agree more 100% behind the King!

Thank you for voicing an opinion I completely agree with. You are the type of fan we desperately need.

Red Owl

This is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth,all these narrow minded so called supporters need to see the bigger picture maybe the king is only manager whilst we wait for the man that we want, and come on we have won our first trophy in six years . The league has been a bit of a disaster but hopefully we can get some quality players in in the summer and start again

As much as I love kenny I think he is out of touch with todays football, his tactics are very poor, he does not know when and how to make the correct changes. His signings have been shocking, how can any manager justify spending £35mil on a player who will probably leave in the summer for a fraction of that amount. Newcastle have built a very good team with that money and probably have enough change to buy Carrol back for £10mil. I and the other Liverpool supporters who you say should be ashamed are gutted things hav'nt worked out for Kenny but at the end of the day it is just not happening for him. The club is bigger than anyboby and that includes Liverpools greatest ever player. If Kenny is still in charge next season I will be behind him 100% but I cant help feel that it will be another year we fall behind the other big clubs and will end up a mid table team AGAIN. I do hope i'm wrong though.

Hear hear, well said that man. That's whats wrong with the 'throw-away' society of today, tis all 'want-it-now' or else, no concept of the meanin of 'thick-n-thin'... if u want yer quick-fix... go follow some OTHER team, but it'll be a false high... we're ALL hurtin here, sum of us ALOT longer than others (r u listenin KIDS!)

Obviously the post was written by a true liverpool supporter not some armchair teenager or someone who spends all thier time on football manager

I for one agree with you like most fans .but the problem that faces us and kenny is that football is now a buisness and the owners / boss want there investment to give them a return .and the time scale is alot shorter . i would love to sit here in three years and say we have 20 league titles but kenny and his team arent good enough yet and another season like this next year and he will be gone .anyone else would have gone by now to be fair.cheers psv ps how long would you give your £300 million investment.

Much as I can appreciate the sentiment, I also hold KK in the highest regard but he does appear out of touch with the modern game and his tactics do seem naive at times, but this could in some part be due to the coaching team he has around him.
I don't think the signings were all his fault, much more likely they were comolli's signings.
The signing of Carroll was a desperate window closing signature and was I'm sure seen by the board in hindsight as a mistake at £35m....dont think we will see another signing like that by Fenway.
Personally I would like to see Benitez back, he knows the club and the fans...and now there is some stability in the boardroom I can see him doing better and not having to wheel and deal to improve the squad.
My 2p worth...sven

100 % agree

Thanks for the response. (and thanks to the eds for posting it)

To all of those who still believe Kenny Dalglish is the wrong man, i'd like to throw something at you; I think most people would agree that our problem this season has been scoring goals. For all of our good play and chances created, we just can't seem to stick the ball away with any regularity. Indeed, we've hit the woodwork more than any other team.

When a team has this trouble, confidence hits rock bottom and it spreads through the team like a cancer. The manager can motivate the team, he can train them and select the starting eleven but he can't score for them. And even if we change the manager, we still won't score any more than we manage at present.

I can see and appreciate what KD has done for the team and i'm frustrated that others can't see it or refuse to. But like i said, he's done so much for the team but he can't score for them.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this post and most of the comments. As much as I respect Dalglish, I don't think he is the right man for the job and no amount of sentiment is going to change that. I'm sure that like myself, the supporters asking for a new manager are doing so as a result of several high costing, poor quality singings and the results we have suffered this season. I'm also concerned with how disillusioned Dalglish is, several times claiming Liverpool were unlucky or blaming referees instead of looking at his own tactics and players but worst of all was when he came out and said "Kit deals and a happy club are as good as points". I think if this was any other manager, like Roy Hodgson for example, I think people would be a lot less reluctant to admit that the manager has to go

Wow great post i think Kenny needs to be given a another season and if it doesn't work out he himself will step aside we would be the laughing stock of football if we got rid of him for another manager
Eam

Spot on lad.
People are too quick to forget. Some person has said Gerrard has to go!!
Yes, things haven't gone that well, but we're a 20 goal striker away from top four.
were not Chelsea. We're not Man Citeh. We're not Everton, We're Liverpool Football Club.
remember Shanks laid a foundation. Then Paisley built the empire. Let kenny finish laying his stone. It'll help us in the long term future to be great again

I have to say that I totally disagree with the majority of your post in fact it is utter utter nonsense of the very highest order. Yes Kenny is a legend, yes he is probably by some distance our greatest ever player and yes the man deserves, no COMMANDS our respect but unfortunately your post pretty much sums up our problems and the problems we will continue to have as long as the King remains our manager. The thing is we look back with rose tinted glasses at our glory glory years on the pitch and with heavy hearts at the tragedies we have been through but no one can fail to see that when Kenny guided us to the double it was a massively different game to the one we have now, the worm has turned full circle and I'm not at all sure that the King has moved with the times.
Can I ask this question, would we have the same patience with Roy Evans, Sammy Lee, Phil Thompson¦all people who have played a major part in our glorious history¦if they were responsible for sending us on the run we're on at the moment? I think not. Kenny is part of the problem; in fact he personifies the problem. I'm afraid the King has to go and he has to go now and shame on you for suggesting we should be ashamed for wanting him to step aside, what I want is a glorious future not to look back on our history and recall the days when we were top of the world like some sad ageing has been actor recalling his time at the top. Naval gazing has to stop and the club has to move on without Kenny as our manager, his star will always burn brightest over L4 and no one should ever for one minute cast any doubt over his feelings for the club, he has done more for the club than any one of us will ever know we love him but for pity's sake, anyone wanting him to stay just because his name is Kenny Dalglish is living in the past as well as in denial. Spurs Arsenal, Scum Citeh, they all have their history and they continue to compete despite it, our history is a mighty albatross around our collective necks, lets ditch the retrograde nonsense and look forward to a bigger brighter and better future with new manager who can inspire us to bigger and better things.
I don't think anyone should be ashamed of themselves for wanting Kenny to move on as we have the best wishes of the club at heart, in fact, how dare you suggest it in the first place. If you are intent on posting a polemic could you please employ a degree of common sense and perspective rather than living in the 1980's.

KopKat

Football is a results based business (sorry to call it that bit it is was it is) and the king is not getting the results.

Possibly one of the best posts on here in a long time.

Things aren't going too well at the moment but we aren't like other clubs who change manager every season or so. I hope not anyway.

It's plain to see what is wrong with the side this season and I like to think that Kenny and his team will fix it in the summer.

Until then enjoy the remaining games.

Great post. Agree 100%.

I respect kenny as much as any other fans. I was really happy to see kenny coming back. We all saw how he managed to regroup the players in the second half of the last season and turned things around. However, still the following reasons do not convince me that he is the right man to take us to the top four finish.
1) The signings we have had (donno if they were done by kenny or by dc) so far by and large have disappointed us. You have to admit Henderson, Adam and Carroll are not CL quality. Do you think they will walk into any top 5 sides?
2) United and Spurs have worked very well with mediocre sides. Arsenal has worked superb with limited budget. When we were in dire need for a prolific striker, Newcastle got one in January. The management did not exhibit any urgency to add a new striker or a defensive midfielder. We started to fall down thereafter.
3) We all thought downing and henderson were bought to support carroll. But they appear to be mutually exclusive. often carroll is brought into the pitch when downing/henderson are off. hence, there is a lack of consistency.

What a load of tripe KitiKat.

Brilliant post, the only thing were lacking this year has been goals 90% of all games we've played we were the better team, kenny got us playing football again football we can watch!! Give him time to put the final piece of the jigsaw together it takes time people and remember we've one cup in cabinet since his return

Red Greg

If you do not support the Liverpool manager, are you defined as a supporter?

You don't have to agree with everything the manager does, but if he's the manager you still should support him and the team you ''support''.

We are not fair weather friends, we were carp last season, Kenny worked his wonder and now we've got silverware, there is no quick fix, we are building for the future. Fair weather fans make me wanna puke!

Totally agree with Kopcat!
I want kenny to be replaced does not mean that i do not support the club or manager. i am a die hard lfc fan and i will keep supporting the team even if it gts relegated. but it does not mean that i will accept the mistakes of an individual. Maradona is the biggest icon of Argentine football. But as a manager he was clueless and he had to step down. that did not turnish his image!
finally, many of the fans who are still supporting kenny withdrew their support from rafa and woy even when the team had better results.

How can you even say we should be ashamed of ourselves for not supporting Kenny. No one is bigger than the club including Kenny himself, will you be posting all this tripe if we get beaten by Balckburn tomorrow? Grow up , if you want to sit and think about the history days while we sink the ship then so be it, I don't blame Kenny for our slump as the players need to take responsibility for it too. However I'd be concerned if our team were beaten by Bloody Wigan at Home and gifting points to relegation threatened teams. No one should be ashamed for a cause of concern being in most peoples opinions , come on £110 million or so and we are on level points with Norwich? I think you need to behave yourself before you post

The original poster has made me very angry. Who does he think he is criticising those who want Kenny replaced. I am a season ticket holder since 1985 and have seen pretty much every away game this season. We are tactically inept, displaying a chronic lack of pace and creativity which has not been addressed since the last 2 transfer windows (and don't get me started on the desperate and appallingly obvious need for a poacher in the box). Dalglish, and lets not forget, this ''much lauded director of football'' have a lot to answer for in this respect . New signings have flopped (Bellamy and Enrique excluded). We must have our players doing the longest warm ups in history (why the hell does it take so long to make a sub when we go behind ala Newcastle last week when we go 2-0 down). Why take your only genuine winger off on Saturday when 1-0 down (even if he has been a big disappointment). Too slow to make changes and strange subsitutions. I can go on and on. We lack a clear sense of direction and philosophy on the pitch. I just want to finish by reiterating I love Kenny as much as the next LFC fan, and that won't change even if he is dismissed. However, it is very dangerous to be blinkeered, even blinded by this love for the man. The best manager for the job is the best manager irrespective of whether he has given 30 years service to the club or had no association in the past. Sadly I don't think Kenny is the man to take us forward . It doesn't mean I will be supporting the team any less though - Lee.`

Am i living in the eighties?

Maybe.......

What i can tell you is that i'm living in the 50's when Bill shankly first came to the club. Did you know that it took him 3 and a half years to get out of the second division? The board and the fans showed patience and i don't think a club manager has ever been more adored by his fans. Why? Because everything he did he did for the club and the fans. And that was enough.

I'm also living in the sixties when Shankly first introduced his own brand of politics in the club; work for each other, help each other, no one is bigger than the team. All socialist values.

And the seventies too. We hadn't won a league title for 7 years but no-one was calling for Shankly's head. Why? Because we were all loyal, and despite his failings in europe, we were all devastated when he resigned.

And how about when Paisley won nothing in his first season. We were all wondering if he was the right man for the job. Good job no-one had the poor manners to come out and say it otherwise they'd have looked a tad stupid.

This club was once successful and that success was based on values such as loyalty, teamwork and helping out your team-mates. We all played a part because we were all part of the team. If we were losing then we sang louder and longer and cheered harder. We never looked beyond our own contribution. Shankly called it the holy trinity of the team, the manager and the fans. And he was right because when we all stand together then no-one can beat us.

I'd suggest that you start looking at your own contribution before you start questioning the abilities of the manager. And may i ask what qualifications or expertise you possess that allows you to deem the manager out of touch?

ps. to clarkchenko7. It takes a good man to admit he was wrong. Sir, you have my utmost respect.

All I have 2 say is if fulham win 2day they're go above us pushing us 9th in the league... Now far as I remember rafa or houllier didn't do as bad as that and got sacked so the way I c it our standards are going lower by the year and that is a FACT...1 simple question 4 all ov u... Kenny was jobless and was looking for managerial role wich club would take him ?? Nevamind premier league not even any of the championship teams would take him what's next robbie fowler 2 b manager cus fans address him as god I'd think he'd do a better job than kenny sentiments aside no matter how fast ur car 1 day it will break down !! DNS

A very sentimental post but the truth is in our league position sir. We cannot let our standards drop. I am Kennys biggest fan but I cant see any progress. Since Rafa we have gone down hill..

I admire your stance but I cannot share your optimism for Kenny after the last few months.

I hope I'm wrong.

Gazman

To the last post, who slated KD up against robbie fowler. despite the fact that he's bought so badly, made so many mistakes, the bad run lfc are on, he's won a trophy! arsene wenger hasn't done it in 7 years. he's equalled spurs's trophy cabinet for the last 19 years (1carling cup) and equalled harry redknapp's career trophy cabinet in his 1st full season so i'm lead to believe. coincidentally harry redknapp's current run of club managerial form is only 1 victory better than kenny's in the last 8 and he's not getting his head called for and is gonna bag the england manager's job for his efforts? the irony of it....

Great post 100% agree ,Kenny may or may not be a bit ring rusty, but his right hand man Steve Clarke isn t assistant to Mourinho he won 2 pl titles 2 league cups and a fa cup .ant

What a load of old TRIPE! Everyone dust off your flairs and get on your scooter, because it's still 1970.

Kenny's style of play is creating soooooooo many chances, so how can anyone slag him off. We have matched all the top teams and could easily win the FA Cup, as all 3 are beatable.
We create the most chances in front of goal, hit the most posts and cross bar, and after seeing every game this season, i feel we are just unlucky, its just not happening for us.
Give Dalglish another season, he deserves it, and support him with signing quality players. If we are in the same position, we all know Kenny will resign before being pushed, where then Rafa is on stand by to return.

A couple of questions to all of you who disagree:

You slag off the team and you slag off the manager yet you call yourself supporters. Can you enlighten me as to who you're supporting?

And secondly, supporting a football club is all about loyalty. If you can't or won't show loyalty towards the clubs favourite son, who has won it all as a player and a manager, then what is it that keeps you supporting the club?

Perhaps a couple of questions that you may need to think seriously about. Otherwise, i believe there's season tickets available at the Etihad x

I remember e king stepping down after onlly a loose 2 everton and without compersation and he iz better than us through his experiences as aplayer and as amanager. we need him coz he iz the only complete manager 4 our team.

Well said my good sir could not agree more

Greatest post ever, finally someone has talked some sense! #truelfcfan

To the origional poster, who cant even sign his posts. You and the others who think the people who want Kenny out are not true supporters, well we are the real supporters who live for the future of our club not in the past. Just because we dont see Kenny as the manager to take us forward you lot are saying were slagging our team off and should support somebody else. And honestly if I hear another comment saying Rome was'nt built in a day I will pull out whats left of my hair after this poor season. its been decades now we have been rebuilding and every year we say the same, next season we will win the league. Well I can be sure of one thing if Kenny is still in charge next season we wont be winningthe league next year. I love Kenny and that will never change but I love LFC more.

WB

We need a goal scorer that is all. I love Kenny. I have been a supporter for 35 years and seen ups and downs. At least Kenny won't bleed us dry as he is there as he loves the club not for money.
Wasn't AF one game from the sack and look what he did. Tough decisions to be made - Carra got to go but I like Coates. Stevie G is not the power house he was.
Support the team not put more pressure on with negativity.

Hi,

Wasn't there a lot of rumours regarding Marko Marin before. Any chance for us signing him this summer?

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal, AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

Anyone know of the asking price for Marin?

Everton about to go 4 points up on us. Newcastle a country mile ahead. Luckily Norwich have a poor goal differential or we'd be behind them too. How bad can it get?

Chin up, your still ahead of Stoke

First bottom ten finish in my life time im thinking but liverpool fans shouldnt be so doom an gloom newcastle went down an now look at them. liverpool need to do s**t so the owners see we arnt no where near a top 4 team an splash the cash. not this season an maybe not next but i reckon in the next 2 years we will better then ever an not only top 4 but the title contenders.... adamlfc ynwa

You know its been a bad season when everton are above you...

Eds is there any chance of Joe Cole and Alberto coming back for next season ?
Do you know of interest in the likes of ozil, tevez, sturidge, tello, ibrahimavic, and drogba? {Ed002's Note - A slim chance of Cole.
No chance of Aquilani - his transfer will be completed within a couple of weeks or so in all probability.
I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.
Tevez and Sturridge - no.
I know that Balague has said that Tello's contract is up this year but that is not my understanding and I very much expect that Barcelona will offer him a new deal. As for interest from Liverpool I don't know how serious it is but I understand the player has been watched. There is also some interest from Valencia and from Porto. There is a possibility of a loan to Valencia as part of another deal I am informed.
Ibrahimovic and Drogba, no.}

Lol - Tevez, Ozil etc, how dillusional are you? Why would top class players join a mid table team. You actually think Ozil would leave RM for Liverpool?? Rubbish team, rubbish stadium, rubbish manager, no CL football and you have to live in Liverpool

IT'S OZIL NOT OEZIL! {Ed002's Note - Without and umlaut it is Oezil - it certainly is not OZIL. Try not to be too embarrassed by this.}

Dutchmal you seem like a very gullible person. I can guarantee right here right now Sterling and Suso will not be leaving Liverpool anytime in the foreseeable future.
Martin

Martin - Gullible is thy name - you are in no position to guarantee that Sterling and Suso will still be at Anfield next season. We don't even know who is going to be in charge. The only ways that you can make guarantees are if your name is O'Neill and you are appointed manager. We didn't expect youngsters like Nemeth and Dalla Valle to leave but all of a sudden they were gone.
Dutchmal

One of FSG's main focuses is to create a healthy academy to produce top quality players without purchasing them from another team. Sterling and Suso are the two most talented players at the academy at the moment and neither have made any indications of wanting to leave bar rubbish press reports designed to sell papers by taking advantage of the average gullible spoon-fed fan who take these reports as Gospel without question.

I don't know how much you have seen of Dalla Valle or Nemeth, but let me assure you they were not on the same planet as Suso and Sterling - otherwise Dalla Valle wouldn't be rotting away in Fulham reserves and Nemeth playing for RKC Waalwijk in the Eredivisie midtable.

Martin

Hi Martin - Dalla Valle moved to Exeter City on loan last month and has made four appearances up to now. When he and Nemeth were allowed to leave they were considered as great prospects and many Liverpool fans were angry that they were allowed to leave so easily.
Dutchmal

Dalla valle went because ROY looked at him while he was at fulham and he knew that fulham was still looking at him when he took over as manager and used it 2 sweeten a deal for konchesky

If Dalglish does go I think we should give Frank Rijkaard a go, he is currently the manager of Saudi Arabia but the chance to manage in the prem league would suit him I think.

Nice joke

I think managing a high profile club such as ours would appeal to many managers in the world nevermind Rijkaard!! You also tend to forget April fools day is 1st not the 9th April

Rijkaard made barca

King Kenny Dalglish is the right man to take Liverpool forward - his signings were good players however some have let him down( Carroll) Henderson will get better Adam is a good player and so is Downing you've got to give Dalglish another season

Good afternoon ed's hope all is well. Ok now I'm not saying that Im reina's dads brothers son who my friend the fly once flew past on a fine summers morning but just interested.

IF (big if) reina were to leave this summer how much do you think realistically we could get for him?
Also I have been hearing things about that santos keeper and I do believe that we have had a glance at him recently, what sort of price are we looking at for him?

If you do find this dreary and not thought provoking enough for you then please send me a witty yet tame responce. And I would be happy to take it on the chin.

Kind regards

The southern red {Ed002's Note - I can say that there is interest in Rafael and Liverpool have had Caniggia or one of his folks take a look. I don't want to speculate about the finances.}

09 Apr 2012 15:40:59
common bring RAFA BENITEZ back,he is the only proven manager we had last 20year`s.give him a budget and we will be CL year after,he knows how to attract players (alonso,arbeloa.pepe,torres,masherano,lukas,rivera.....and we forget 2005,with a team what a team we bet AC MILAN....man knows game and LFC!!

Bring Ian Holloway in

What about the Champions League of 2007 where he was so afraid of Kaka and a vastly inferior AC Milan side that he never tried to win the game? He cost us a 6th Euro title that night by leaving the two players that AC were afraid of on the bench...Bellamy and Crouch. His tactic of playing his centre forward behind his central midfielders wasn't great either.

If he is the saviour that everyone wants why is he still unemployed? Even Abramovich laughrd when Benitez offered his services to Chelsea to get Torres playing.

We won in 2005 with Gerrard Houllier's team, Benitez only really added Alonso to the team

Rocky

We've only just got rid of all the crap he brought to the club!

He had gone behind Alonso's back for a Gareth Barry deal, remember so I wouldn't say he covered himself in glory

Apart from Suarez and Gerrard all our top performers in the current squad are rafa's recruits - aggar, skrtel, lucas, pepe and johnson. Maxi had a decent run and his and kuyt's contribution to our cup win cannot be undermined. without aggar, lucas and johnson we have suffered. Finally how much all of them cost? even after paying 18m for johnson, the total price wud be less than the total amount we spent for hendo, downing and carroll. we sold torres for £50m, how much wud you get for carroll? Rafa's recruits are now playing for the likes real madrid, ac milan and barca. adam and carroll will fight to get into even mid table clubs.
i m not saying that i want rafa back. however he shud be slated or blamed for our current poor form.

Benitez was never the same manager after Pako Ayesteran and Paco Herrera left the club. It makes you wonder who the real tactical influences in the partnership were?

Your going on about alonso
But what about the likes of torres,pepe,mascherano

I also believe rafa could do it with the mony

How many of those players were still here by the time he left because he did not chase them out of LFC

09 Apr 2012 15:40:04
Ed any intrest in Allan McGregor, as back up GK, if not who are we intreseted in?? And is the Liverpool site the most popular?

Thanks

Billy90 {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest in McGregor but suspect he would be looking for first team football. Liverpool had an interest in Nordfeldt but he signed for Heerenveen instead. Rafael of Santos has been looked at and after that I don't know. The Liverpool page is the most popular.}

09 Apr 2012 14:55:36
Hi Eds!Is there a big possibility that Adam Johnson and adbayor are coming?thx {Ed002's Note - No.}

09 Apr 2012 14:45:06
hi ed, is there any info on the future of clint dempsey at the moment? He's been a quality player for fulham this season. I would quite like to see him in a red shirt, whats your opinion of him? {Ed002's Note - Should Dempsey come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Spurs and a couple of German sides, plus possibly Arsenal.}

Why the hell are we hoping for such players again...? Haven't you guys suffered at the hands of last summer mediocre buys. Pray for buys like Soldado and Munain this season. And maybe we'll be able to get few more players like Suarez. Suarez hasn't performed brilliantly this seasin but even his poot form has been better than a good season by anybody... We need some flair and speed in our team and EPL hasn't much to offer that. We have to loom sonewhere else coz we ain't getting Bale or Aguero. I guess we should take a chance on Balotelli. Maybe he and Suarez will cancel each other's stupidity on field ;)....

Musicnatio.

Hello mate, you must hate it when la liga games are on sky as you get bombarded wid questions on the decent performers haha. Word from the academy the other day is kenny is goin upstairs and rafa is back for the 1st of June. With 5 major targets in site that rafa wants, wish I knew that bit! Genuine news from the academy from a strong staff source. Hope people are as excited as me, give rafa money and we get flair and major players. Thanks mate

Maybe you could list the flair players that Benitez bought during his time at LFC. Can I start you with Nunez, El Zhar, Zenden, Gonzalez, Degen, Dossena, Keane, Riera and Voronin?

And we could sell the best player weve had in years for having the audacity to want to see his child born......
Maybe we could spend £18million on an injured player and pay him millions to get fit whilst deciding he doesn't want to play in England too.....
Can't wait - in Rafa we trust!

09 Apr 2012 14:33:56
Daglish to be sacked at the end of the season although it will be more like he stepped down himself. the new manger will be non other than AVB who was a contender when benitez got the sack. a major clear out will take place. out will go aurelio, kuyt, maxi, carrol, downing, cole. in will come muanin, alex witsel, soldado, ben arfa

Downing will not go

Everton fan by any chance i smell bitter

Thank you Mystic Meg

Is alex witsel the brother of axel witsel, who plays for Benfica?

Ruling out unrealistic guys like Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola etc, aswell as dismissing the likes of Bilic, Deschamps & Petrescu. These are the men that the board should be considering as our next manager:

1.Unai Emery - Valencia

2.Roberto Martinez - Wigan

3.Luis Garcia - Getafe

4.Mauricio Pochettino - Espanyol

5.Andres Villas Boas - Unattached

A distinct Latin flavour here, but all are young (all under 40) and are going places. Some of them will fall by the wayside in years to come, but if we choose wisely, we could have the next special one on our hands. I'd also like to give Paul Lambert a mention aswell. I feel he'l make a better long-term proposition than the likes of Brendan Rodgers.

The Mole

Replace martinez with benitez and you might have something there. martinez ? jeez

Pochettino would be a great call

I would have agreed about Martinez a few weeks ago, but I've been thinking about him. His team plays football the right way, he's developed some good young players, he's loyal, he's good with the media, he's managed in the Prem for a few years now, and he's only 38. I'm intrigued so see what he could do with more backing and a better(ish) pool of players.

To poster no.1........Benitez? Are you for real? Have you been in hibernation for a couple of years? Let me fill you in....
1. Would not buy a second, quality striker and fell out with senior players at Liverpool. Sacked.
2. Went to Inter Milan. Took the Champions League winners and double winners in Italy straight down the league. Sacked after 5 months.
3. Still out of work. No offers except from soccer a.m. Wonder why?

Paul Lambert would be an excellent replacement if we are forced into that scenario. Don't forget that all the fantastic foreign managers mentioned have no experience of the Premiership and may not speak the language, and may also want to sign players not best suited to the EPL.

ED any intrest in Hernanes from Lazio and is he likely to come?

Cheers
Adam {Ed002's Note - I think that there could be interest in the player at the right price but Lazio may have a figure above £20M in mind - which is why Juventus have been put off.}

ed's before KK became manager I clearly remember you guys saying to be careful for what we wish for because you felt that the legend may cop some flak if things didnt go right. Can you tell me what were your picks at the time. Was it the present Swansea Manager?

Red in Shepp {Ed002's Note - I did indeed say that when Dalglish was appointed but I don't recall anyone suggesting Rodgers at all. You should be able to dig around in the archives and see who the Eds were suggesting.}

I remember Ed001 suggesting Di Matteo. He is doing a fantastic job at chelsea {Ed002's Note - May well be available in the summer.}

One of the Eds definitely had a leaning towards Sean O'Driscoll

Raoul

Thanks guys saved me searching

Ed what's the deal with Mauricio Isla do we have any chance of signing him?

Love You {Ed002's Note - Although there has been interest from Liverpool, the player has suffered a serious so he will need to prove his fitness. Roma, Napoli and PSG are other possibilities for the player, but I suspect Inter may strike a deal including a couple of youngsters going on loan or part ownership to Udinese.}

With reference to the Suarez 'interview' in The Daily Star so much of what has been written about Liverpool over the past few months should be taken with a pinch of salt. No quotes etc. Unknown journalists (known Journalists using psuedonyms) Just made up rubbish. Mainly becuse they know that Liverpool fans will buy their newspapers. We are a bid market for them.

Sorry - big market not bid.

This is considering that Suarez may leave :

Outs:
Reina - 18 million Suarez - 30 million
Johnson - 12 million Carroll - 15 million
Carragher - Retire Pacheco - 2 million
Doni - Free Kuyt - 5 million
Maxi - Free Wilson - 3 million
Aquilani - 5 million Cole - 3 million

Ins:
Adler - Free Andre-Stegen - 12 million
Muniain - 22 million De Jong - 12 million
Ramirez - 12 million Papadoupoulous - 11 million
Soldado - 23 million Giroud - 17 million
Phillips - 5 million

Transfers Out : 93 million
Transfers In : 124 million

Net Spend : 31 million

If Suarez REMAINS at the club , then there is no need to sign Soldado as Giroud is a pretty good goal-scorer too.
And in that case, Net Spend : 39 million

JSteve

Lol people talk about finances of millions of pounds like they have experience dealing with money of that caliber. Makes me giggle keep it up you footy manager maniac

Scouse ben

You know this would never work. As we are all aware we always pay over the odds for players and except for Torres we always seem to give players away for far less than their worth. Lets just hope we do our buying early and are not held to ransom leading up to transfer deadline day.

Kev the Red

Spending 124 million on them players u mad be step backwards awful suggestions an the schalke cb goin for 12 mil more like 30 mil

Wtf have you been smoking?

Why would anyone post this? We will have a net spend of minus 20 million. When a high priced team completely underachieves the answer is rarely to spend another 40 million.

Youve only named half the decent wonder kids on FM12! Crickey fella come up with something worth reading
LeeWils

In your valuations, if suarez stays and soldado doesn't come, the net spend would be 38 million pounds not 39 million.

ED is there interest from Europe from Cristian Manuel Chávez from Boca looks a good winger and has already 26 caps fro Argentina so I 'assume' he will get a work permit {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any right now.}

09 Apr 2012 12:41:22
If we really are after Soldado and Muniain I'll be chuffed to bits.

Sell:
Carroll
Aurelió
Kuyt.
Adam.

In:
Muniain
Soldado
Gaston Ramirez
Hoillet
Isla

Why would u sell Kuyt his work effort is brilliant. Adam is still a good player and ok Aurelius can defo go and maybe Carroll and then bring in Danny Graham

We should sign cristian eriksen from Ajax . a pure class attacking midfielder is what liverpool desperately need

09 Apr 2012 12:37:57
Make what you want of it but apparently Pepe was unsettled before the suspension and isn't happy with where Kenny's taking the club. Hugo Lloris on standby.

When Reina was asked on the Wembley pitch after the League Cup Final to comment on the positive aspects of the past year under Kenny Dalglish, if I remember rightly his comments were quite lukewarm.

Liverpool have made great progression on and off the pitch believe it or not. Dalglish is the right man to take Liberpool forward he knows what he is doing

Hugo Lloris will not sign for us regardless of whether or not Pepe leaves

I'd just sell pepe and keep doni TBO only 31 or something like if he got first team football he'd stay

Regardless of Doni's age he is nowhere near as talented and therefore not an adequate replacement. Only Joe Hart would able to step in on an equal footing.

Joe Hart is a better keeper

09 Apr 2012 12:28:31
Well Eds,
Fantastic site firstly and thanks for keeping it up. I was just wondering about the uncertainty surrounding Adebayor over his wages being too high for Spurs and their interest in Carroll. Who is interested in Adebayor currently. Just putting 2 and 2 together and hoping Spurs take Carroll as a replacement.

88 {Ed002's Note - Spurs would like to keep Adebayor but there is interest from Fenerbahce.}

There are a lot of people clinging to a hope of selling Carroll to Spurs and replacing him with Adebayor. I really can't see how that would make any financial sense for Tottenham as it would have to be cheaper to keep Adebayor themselves.

Wasn't on about us having Adebayor more thinking of getting Carroll off the books if Spurs couldn't keep Adebayor. So we free up a place for Soldado or De Jong

88

I see where you are coming from but my point is why would Spurs get rid of Adebayor only to waste a much larger sum of money on buying Andy Carroll?

I see your point but if they couldn't keep Adebayor and saw Carroll as an option due to the reported interest and would add to their homegrown quota and his wages are around half of Adebayors.

88

09 Apr 2012 12:25:29
Hi Eds. are there any clubs interested in Charlie Adam? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Everton would love to have him

I seem to remember that Adam's agent is the brother of David Moyes.

We'd love Everton to have him.

09 Apr 2012 12:23:22
Big clear out at the end of the season, with Reina, Kuyt, Henderson, Carroll, Bellamy, Johnson and Spearing all being made available for transfer.

The management team are very confident of moving on Reina, Kuyt and Johnson, as they have already had a number of enquiries, and it is believed both Villa and, suprisingly, Spurs are interested in Carroll.

Dalglish will go - But it will be made to appear his 'choice' and I understand his replacement will be an existing premier manager(??)

With a number of big earners gone, the new management will be given funds for one, maybe two big names

Absolute rubbish

How do you know all this?

Remember it was Spurs who made a massive £27.5m offer for Carroll just days before our £35m offer was eventually accepted. The London centric media and press always fail to mention this when they are slagging off Liverpool. Oh and by the way can they stop saying Henderson cost us £20m. It was £16m. Next they will start saying Downing cost us £25m and Carroll cost us £40m. Ridiculous.

I am not saying your information is in correct.surely we need to strengthen the squad numbers,getting rid off seven seems excessive

Keep hendo

Thats it sell every player that wheres the red shirt, give them time for god sake !!

Bellamy? Why sell him? He's been good for us this season and still has a year left!

Red T

Do you really think that it is credible for the manager to go and half of the 1st team squad? How do you know that any new manager would want to keep most of them?

09 Apr 2012 12:21:09
Ed what's going on with the keeper situation I feel we need a young understudy to Pepe but who would want to do that job with limited game time?? I saw you mentioned Rafael Cabral before any one else of intrest to us or you?

Dano {Ed002's Note - Santos goalkeeper Rafael has attracted the attention of Roma who have made an offer circa 6M euro. A move is quite likely in the summer and I am aware of confirmed interest from Atletico Madrid, Palermo and Spurs. Caniggia has had Rafael watched on behalf of Liverpool but I don't see him being interested in a role on the bench.}

I like Ward, big presence and good ability

But didnt Roma buy Stekelenburg last year? so he would still be sitting on the bench

09 Apr 2012 11:42:00
Hey Eds,is there any change Reina may leave us?

his body language most of the season suggests he is fed up or frustrated.

there was a rumour a few months back about Casillas wanting to leave madrid. what this true?

could Hugo Lloris be a possible replacement should Reina want to go?

thanks!

{Ed002's Note - As we stand right now I do not think there is any plan for Reina to leave this summer.}

Reina will be gone at the end of the season - He is a very ambitious person and, not only is he not happy with the lack of challenge for the title, but he also feels lack of champions league footie may harm his international career

09 Apr 2012 12:08:59
Would mertesacker be a viable option if he were available? What kind of striker and winger are we looking for??
{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Mertesacker.}

Mertesacker is awful

No he's not...........he's worse than that.

09 Apr 2012 11:39:14
Ed - do you know what's happening with the Peter Gulacsi (spelling) situation ? Is he expected to become an understudy to Reina next season or are we planning to sell him? {Ed002's Note - I don't think any decision would have been made just yet.}

09 Apr 2012 10:32:44
Hey eds,
Do you have any idea bout how much Robert Lewandowski would cost and whether there'd be any chance of us getting him this summer? On great goalscoring form (exactly what we need) and is only 23 so fits in with the young player criteria.
Cheers, 77chris {Ed005's Note - I doubt he'd want to leave at this moment in time and I'd imagine he'd cost a fair amount.}

Liverpool would not be able to attract a big name like him

09 Apr 2012 10:12:03
Hi edds

Is there any interest shown by us or any other clubs for clint dempsay? He's had a great season, marketable in the states and could probs get him for a reasonable fee due to his short contract length? {Ed002's Note - Should Dempsey come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Spurs and a couple of German sides, plus possibly Arsenal.}

Arsenal and Spurs would be his most likely destination. No chance of him leaving london, especially to join liverpool - assuming he stays in england of course

With regards to Clint Dempsey I have it on fairly good authority that Arsenal are favourites to land him. Also Arsenal would be his first choice.

Elmo

09 Apr 2012 10:07:19
hello eds and macca,do you know of any interest in Leroy Fer,i think he would compliment Jorden Henderson in the middle of midfield really well,long term, and he can also cover at left back. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest right now.}

09 Apr 2012 10:04:58
Love to see adam johnson or dries mertens come in for on the flank
Kevin Strootman or moussa sissoko for centre midfield
And finally bas dost or van wolfswinkel for striker

Any chance of any of these eds or am i going to keep on dreaming?

{Ed002's Note - Try the search function please.}

Keep on dreaming mate

09 Apr 2012 10:03:07
anyone have a link for the suarez interview were he's meant to say he'll leave if kenny gets the sack? tried searching but no luck.
thanks.
jg.

It's in the Daily Star - which should tell you everything you need to know

Daily Star reported it.

There was no interview. As if Suarez would talk about extending his contract in the summer a few weeks ago to now giving another interview to say he'd leave. Bulls**t

Suarez would want to just shut his mouth and concentrate on trying to repay the team that stood by him whilst he embarrassed the club worldwide with his antics. The club and nobody else will decide if he stays or goes, nothing to do with Dalglish.

Load of rubbish by the looks of it, was wondering if anyone had seen an actual quote anywhere. typical daily s@*t story then! mind you, personally wouldn't be to bothered if he did go.
cheers lads.
jg.

09 Apr 2012 09:39:06
ed do u think we could buy balotelli, bags of talent and i'm sure kenny'll be able to control him? {Ed002's Note - It won't happen.}

Like he's controlled Suarez?
KiwiRed

Some people on here are mad...he's just what we need right now?

He is a key player and also very young

Nobody can control this muppet of a man!!!

He is a loose cannon and I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. Talented playr but he is not worth the hassle.

Gaz1975.

Do me a favour, he's an idiot.

Kenny can control him.what planet are you living on?

Kenny's done a fine job at handling Carroll...

If he cant handle Andy Carroll he could hardly handle Mario Balotelli.... he's the exact opposite of what we need now.

Only someone like Mouriniho can handle him

Mourinho called him "unmanageable"... says it all

Kenny proved that he couldn't even handle suarez earlier in the season so how on earth would he control Balotelli? They guy is a complete t**t and doesn't meet the professional standards that LFC aspire to

We have enough headbangers atm - we really don't need another. You have absolutely no idea if you will finish with 11 men when he is playing.

I love that guy I think he would make a fine player for us .. Though stevie would have giv him treatment once a month so he doesn't gt out a line

09 Apr 2012 09:36:09
any chance of guaita as back-up to reina ed?

wafa {Ed002's Note - No, I would not have thought so.}

09 Apr 2012 09:35:51
ED Is there any interest in Piatti of valencia? Not just from LFC but from all clubs in general? {Ed002's Note - There was plenty of interest in him before he moved to Valencia but none that I am aware of now - and I would not expect him to move as he has been at Valencia less than a year.}

Thnx Ed...he's gonna be top quality one day

09 Apr 2012 09:35:21
ed are we interested in erik lamela or sofiane feghouli?

wafa {Ed002's Note - No.}

09 Apr 2012 09:04:09
Muniain
Soldado
De Jong
Isla
Hoilett

Hopefully the 5 players that macca is talking about.

Maybe Ramirez in place of De Jong...but De Jong would probably be back up for Soldado or Muniain

Muniain
Soldado
De Jong
Honda
Johnson

I think de jong and hoilett should be replaced by adam johnson and mario balotelli

Muniain
soldad
de jong
strootman
ramirez

Roberto Soldado
Iker Muniain
Gaston Ramirez
Pablo Hernandez
Hugo Lloris

Agree with the striker selection. I hope that we buy more than 1 since we always seem to be short of a quality stand-in. I would also like Kevin Strootman, if available, and would prefer Cristian Tello on the wing as the guy is going to have a massive future.

09 Apr 2012 08:50:39
Hi Eds,
IMO,we need;
-A young GK.(back-up for Reina).
-A Right back.(To replace Johnson).
-A centre back.(Skrtel & Agger are injury proned,Carragher is no longer reliable and Coates is too slow).
-A playmaker.
-A right winger.
-2 strikers.
INS:
-Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
-Mauricio Isla.
-Alváro Dominguez.
-Gaston Ramirez.
-Iker Munian.
-Matias Suárez.
-Roberto Soldado.
THX.

Fully agreed

How do you work out that Skrtel is injury prone? Has he not played almost every game (league and cups) for the past two seasons? Some people on here say the most ridiculous things.

Really good players but the last 4 itself would cost us around 60-70 million ..so even after the sales and europa league qualification dont really see it coming..maybe we should go for cheaper quality players like dusan tadic,hoilett,marin,strootman and a couple from that list..

If Skyrtel is injury prone, i'm the heir to the playboy mansion! Agger maybe, but no Skyrtel, player of the season for me!

We're never gonna get seven new signings, especially of that quality.

Nordfeldt has sign for hereenveen.

Where did you come up with Coates being too slow? have you seen him get outrun since he came? i haven't, not saying he is flash but he's got no problems. but, i do agree carragher needs to retire if not then go and find a team that will give him the games. and a cb needs to come in.

Got to agree with the guy who says that Skrtel is player of the season. How can anyone who watches Liverpool games (even on an occasional level) claim that he is injury prone? He has played virtually every game over the last 2 seasons.

09 Apr 2012 08:33:44
Eds, do you know if the coaching staff see Shelvey as ready to be a first team regular yet or is he only there due to injuries? And do him and Spearing have a future at the club? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I suspect Shelvey is seen as a valuable squad player. Spearing has been playing and there is no indication that the club are looking to sell him.}

Both are good honest players but neither have the quality - they would not be good enough for even the squads of the top 4 teams which is where liverpool apsire to. The fact that spearing is a starting 11 player for liverpool says it all about their lack of quality and one of the reasons they are where they are in the league

09 Apr 2012 07:41:06
5 talents, who Liverpool want in summer -

1. Nicolas Gaitan(Benfica)
2. Eden Hazard(Lille)
3. Yann M'villa(Rennes)
4. Douglas(Twente)
5. Granit Xhaka(Basel)

I pray to sign 2 and 5. It's enough for me... Don't want others :D Maybe Javi Martinez(no Yann Mvila) too :)

Well still no striker. well, we are missing a real striker atm, very very largely. I'd prefer a striker first and a right winger than other positions. YNWA Trustme

For me num 2,and also Edinson Cavani,David Silva,Mario Balotelli,kolarov and Christian tello,So the premier league for us.

We will not sign any of these, until we can at least challenge for a top 4 place, we need new management in

And why would Man City dell is two of their best players? People seem to be forgetting that we won't be playing in the Champions League next season - there's no way were going to be getting the likes of Balotelli, Silva and Cavani. We don't need another left back, especially when Enrique is better than Kolarov, and Hazard will go to Spain.

Christian eriksen alongside gerrard

Liverpool should go for,
Muniain
Tevez
Tello
Gaitan
Marin

Out
Carrol
Kuyt
Aquilani
Cole
Johnson

There is no chance what so ever of us getting hazard or m'villa

We have henderson and shelvey so no need for xhaka

Has Granit Xhaka not already got an agreement with Bayern Munich? {Ed002's Note - I assume you mean Moenchengladbach, but there is no deal just yet - but it is likely to go through.}

Lol, cheers for helping me out with that one ed, it was just that I couldn't spell Moenchengladbach (I needed to copy and paste from your answer for that).

09 Apr 2012 07:03:12
My personal view is that we should sell reina as i am sure we will get 20+ million for him, doni should be given a contract extension, lets sell johnson, spearing, kuyt, maxi, aurelio, andy carroll, bellamy, aqualini, joe cole, downing and lets buy the likes of soldado, munian, a good right back, shelvey and and gerrard (holding midfielder), henderson and munian as right and left wing, suarez and soldado two strikers and lets see how we turn up.

redh0t

Why Johnson??

There is no chance of another massive clear out. that was last summer. We have the core players in place and will look to add 2 maybe 3 players of real quality

I would keep Bellamy. He hasn't got long left in his career now but he always looks up for it when he plays. Unlike our number 9.

Most of those players are as good as gone! Downing, Johnson and Spearing should not be on that list. I am not saying that they're first choice 11 but they're decent squad players!

Excatly, having the likes of downing, adams, bellemy or who ever wud b great, there not bad players to be bringing on and we need depth like the likes of city, utd and spurs

Where are you going to fit Lucas into your team? He has been the biggest loss for us this season. The sooner he is back the better it will be.

09 Apr 2012 05:55:04
We must buy 2 wide wingers(P.Hermann,A.Johnson),a defender(A.Dominguez) and a striker (Adebayor or Llorente).I think it will be good to sell Aquilani,Cole,Maxi,Aurelio,Kuyt,Bellamy,Suarez(he is very good player but he is not for Liverpool),Carragher(retire),Adam.And the 3rd think it that i want is a new manager (say me plaese who is possible {Ed002's Note - If Johnson becomes available he may be possible.}

09 Apr 2012 01:43:17
would rami off valencia be a possibility for a cb role replacing carra?

We don't need to buy any CBs for a while we have Coates and also wisdom and samma coming through!

Square tomato

What is wrong with Coates and Kelly, oh and aggre,scrtel

09 Apr 2012 00:47:39
Great site ed's
What are the chances of Pedro and or sessegon in the summer? U need skillfull pacey players to win in the prem.
These two along with a good striker to play alongside Suarez would surely give us enough to get some consistency against the smaller team in the league!
Thoughts? {Ed001's Note - Pedro might well leave Barca, but it is hard to see us being front of the queue. you never know though. If Sessegnon goes, it is likely to be because he is going home to France.}

09 Apr 2012 00:22:16
ed is it true that were going to sell or loan suso to fiorentina {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

Another made up story in sunday papers. No qoutes. Unknown journalist etc.

09 Apr 2012 00:05:43
Hi eds, After what Macca told and hearing your opinions it is obvious that the opinions are differing. But my question is When u guys have an opinion that Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt, Maxi and may be Adam being sold then why don't u agree that we need to replace them with good players. At least the likes of Soldado, Muniain etc. These guys are not already not playing for big clubs right!, I mean Ozil have a chance to go to Inter who are also not in CL but why is it a pre req for LFC to be in CL to buy him.
Okay i understand that it also involves fees, etc. But atleast after selling such many players we will get some money and space in wages to accomodate new signings. But it looks like LFC will not buy any good player atleast to replace what we already have. Is it because LFC are a s**t team and no more a top club. I mean what is athletico madrid doing for years and still able to persuade Falcao. Its just so frustrating that even after possibility of selling that many players, we still can't replace them at the least. I'm feeling so gutted.

AJ {Ed002's Note - Nobody is saying players won't be replaced. I have said for months that there maybe a possibility of Soldado. I have said that Cavani and certain others will not be joining but why is that a shock? And I have said Muniain would be difficult. I really don't see what your concern is.}

09 Apr 2012 00:05:11
Soldado has not fallen out with manager. Suffering illness since the morning and was benched as a precaution. Can stop with the silly fallen out with manager stories. Emery is well liked by almost all playing staff.

Nevada

How do you no?? what was said last night is more believable then some kid in his bedroom. his players are loosing faith in him and his stars are growing restless and defiant kind of like avb at Chelsea. thats what was said during the game yesterday an thats what im going to listen to not you
