Leroy Sane looks increasingly likely to join Liverpool on January. He would be a fantastic addition, he was recently called up to the German national team.

Hi Ed002,
with Sturridge struggiling to get back to full fitness, is it possible he`ll be sold this season and JK will look for a replacement? thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He won't be sold until he is fit and it will be tough to find a buyer. I think it very unlikely that he would be available, used enough to prove his fitness and attract interest before Christmas.}

08 Nov 2015 20:07:56
We can probably only speculate, but would he eventually just be released if things don't improve?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would think that there is zero chance of that.}

Sturidge is the best finisher at the club, I don't understand why everyone wants him gone beacuse he's has a few injuries, he's only a young lad, he's had a bit of bad luck, Everytime he's come back after an injury he's played well and or scored, he's not just a natural finisher his all round games good aswell, I know some players come on this forum I'd hate them to see some of the stuff written in here, to be honest I'd be gutted if he left, instead of constantly tryin to sell him off why not support him and or the team, red till we're dead!

It's a shrink that he needs as I think most of his injuries are in his head. He can be amazing when he plays and we really could be doing with him at the moment but for the amount of money he's costing us to sit on a treatment table is getting beyond a joke.

Sturridge is quality, don't give up on him!

hi eds, do you think we will sign a full back in january?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - right now, I don't know, as Klopp is still making an assessment of the squad. The fact he tried Clyne at left back the other day does suggest he sees a weakness in cover there.}

08 Nov 2015 05:53:01
if we are going to sign one, who is your choice?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it seems a left back is the one needed, so I would probably look at someone like Gaya, maybe Ricardo Rodgriguez, Ghoulam or even Wendell.}

08 Nov 2015 08:23:18
Ed01 do u see those players as first choice or back up to Moreno? I'm hoping with Jurgen here we do actually start putting a squad together that with his system in place the name on the shirt won't matter to a degree as all players will know and play there roles to the level required. Obviously it's nice to have great players but the gap between first choice and back up at the minute is worlds apart in some areas.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - depends on who plays best at the time.}

I strongly advise against buying Ricardo Rodriguez who is defensively hopeless. And on top of that, he plays for Wolfsburg and would be costly.

Gaya is a at a similar level in experience and age to Moreno, and would perhaps cost more than Moreno, and would need time to adjust to the PL.

Wendell has half of Europe after him I think and has an excellent left foot, but defensively he is suspect IMO.

Which leaves Goulam and I think he is a good choice but I wouldn't know if he would move to be a squad player initially.

While it's too early to judge him, I like the look of MBabu at Newcastle.

Ed what do you think about Andrew Robertson? Thought he did really well in the premier league and has been one of Hulls better players this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was not that impressed personally, he did well initially but then faded.}

My concern when it comes to future transfers is really budgetary, over the last 5 years we havnt done to well and I know there will be changes and the quality should improve with klopps team now part of the committee. We know we have a decent amount of lads that can be promoted from youth team etc, and from his previous history we can, to a degree, presume Klopp will do this and wants to do this. Leaving me thinking that any players we might look at will be better than our current first 11, which is ideal but are we going to have the funds? If so, how do we to stay within FFP guidelines? Knowing the increase that's coming to premier league clubs at the end of the current season, I fear and expect that no matter what club goes to buy from outside the UK is going to be paying astronomical fee's for players, are the board going to release the funds to sign 2-3 players that in total we could be paying around 150 million pounds. I don't want to see another window with 8,9,10 players brought in, 2-3 quality signings is in my opinion, that counts for bigger all lol, is what we should be looking for but we, along with most premier league clubs, will pay a heavy premium for them and I just can't see it happening, not with the mistakes we have made in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The television money does not come at the end of this season - but next.}

08 Nov 2015 09:47:44
Cheers ed02, not sure why I thought it was end of current season, worrying about aspects of the club and game overall I shouldn't concern myself with to be honest. Guess I'm worried about if we do happen to crack top 4 and gain champs league we will be booted from it and fined heavily before we can play a game. Not quite that simple but that's why u guys know that stuff and we can just worry bout what happens on the pitch lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will need to rely on some income from the loans-to-buy before June 30 which is the critical date - and if they are looking to do any business in January then it needs to be funded from the same source or from sales.}

Is Cresswell's stock rising at all? Can't say I've lots but what I have seen seems decent- certainly as a squad player.
