Ed, which LB do you think is the better player out of thoses who have been linked with use (Cissokho, Izaguirre, Baines and Enrique)? {Ed002's Note - Best, I somewhat think Baines. Likely probably Enrique.}

08 Jul 2011 23:01:50
I have heard people talking about nani being a possibility since young has taken the spot for united any chance Eds {Ed009's Note - absolutely none.}

08 Jul 2011 22:21:34
Lfc bought Henderson top 3 in EPL leading 2 a goal, Adam shortlisted for players player & downing villa player of the year in a team with young in it.

In Adam n hopefully downing we would have 2 players with amongst the best left foot delivery in the EPL feeding the best header in EPL Carroll.

Without a doubt very effective signings, parts of a jigsaw, a blueprint of KKs last tenure.

So citeh n chelski can have their "marquee" signings, Lfc building a squad that's understands the rigours of EPL.

Ps. El pistolero will b the best player in it, a truly world class signing.

Jimbob {Ed033's Note - Couldn't agree more mate!}

08 Jul 2011 22:09:12
Gary Cahill will be signed within a week's time. Fee is around £20m or £15m and add-ons.

Michael Bland

08 Jul 2011 21:57:58
Walcott rumours starting fits the profile we would want fast direct right age etc but cant cross the ball unless we want him as a forward not winger? {Ed033's Note - How much can Arsenal deal with?}

08 Jul 2011 21:57:57
ed is it true we made a bid for santi carzola and do you think we will sign him thanks ed {Ed033's Note - He is very close to signing for Malaga I believe. They recently were bought by a very wealthy middle eastern company and have been linked with mad bids recently, Wesley Sneijder has been linked today. So therefore i think the chances are slim}

08 Jul 2011 21:23:05
Ed009.We need a winger who can cross. Fair enough about Jeffren but what about Affley. Like Downing pacy without being lighting, got a good end product and fits the FSG criteria. Think 13 to 15 could get him. Can play both sides, attackin midfielder and the second striker, classic number 10 position.Any thoughts Ed. Chopper Read {Ed009's Note - Affelay is a very good player, and one we have constantly been linked with for years - perhaps because Barcelona are willing to let him go. Unfortunately it seems like empty links, there appears to be no real interest.}

08 Jul 2011 21:06:09
Eds or anyone, how do you rate our chances of signing the following playing, neymar, downing, gyan, nasri, enrique, cissokho, baines personally, i prefer cissokho over enrique and baines {Ed009's Note - 0, 7, 1, 1, 6, 4, 3.}

08 Jul 2011 20:37:32
Ed tony barrett on talksport was saying that we want a lb, cb and striker after downing, he doesn't mention another winger, do you think we will buy one? {Ed009's Note - all we know at this point is that all other targets are prioritised behind Downing. There is or was interest in other wingers - Johnson, Cazorla and Mata - at one point or another but whether we will buy another is impossible to know until Downing is resolved.}

08 Jul 2011 20:15:35
Marik Hamsik of Napoli wears number 17 the number now free and is looking at a big money move with ac and inter interested cud we be looking at another midfield player, swap + money deal with raul and jovanovic? {Ed009's Note - if we buy another central midfielder, especially for big money, I will be petitioning for Kenny to play a 2-8-2 every other game with Aguero, Lavezzi, Tevez, Gomez, Carroll and Suarez starting in a 4-0-6 the other.}

08 Jul 2011 20:14:24
hey eds
john bradley lfc commentator just tweeted , (that he has just had coffee with tano goya a very close friend of sergio aguero.... hmm very intresting to here bout him.)he tweeted , there is about 60 retweets in the space of bout 45 mins. john bradley very well respected in liverpool and works for the club. wat d you think he means is he just stirring s**t up again or wat
fagam81 {Ed009's Note - I have no idea, but I doubt either he or Aguero's 'close friend' would be privy to much genuine information, speculation aside. Let the rumours begin again.}

08 Jul 2011 20:08:25
Eds... Do you think we have a chance of Jeffren Suarez or to put it another way do we want him? Dub red {Ed009's Note - There was previous interest in the player but all other wingers have been put aside with Downing the priority. Mata is probably second. He is not really good enough in my opinion but could end up at Valencia or remain at Barcelona.}

08 Jul 2011 20:04:16
hey eds in your opinion when do u think we will be makin our next signing? and who do u think its most likley to be? {Ed009's Note - I don't know when. Realistically it will all be finalised early next week, and it will probably be Downing.}

08 Jul 2011 19:38:12
Hi Ed,
We've heard much about Downing, but in the past couple of days it has all gone quite regarding him. After the £15 million bid was rejected, nothing has seemingly happened. Although there have been many reports saying we are about to bid again, and our back-up option, Mata perhaps, looks like a gooner.

Do you expect a new bid to be put in, or will we move on to other targets? I know you have said a bid of £17-£18m would be put in, but is this still the case?

Thanks
Burnsy {Ed009's Note - The club are still focusing all their efforts on signing the player, and I imagine they are waiting until he holds talks with McLeish to see if that will lower the price somewhat.}

08 Jul 2011 19:18:00
hi ed it looks like we r linked with a lot of left midfielders who do u think we will sign to play right midfield except mata cos i think he will go to arsenal {Ed029's Note - I think Henderson may play there as he got a lot of assists last year and has a good cross, Kuyt may play there and Johnson}

08 Jul 2011 18:47:48
Hey Ed,

According to Doni's agent he should have signed for us well before now. Do you know anything about what is causing the delay?

Scouser4Life {Ed009's Note - the player is still likely to sign for us, but perhaps he is waiting to see if purported interest from Atletico Madrid to make him first choice goalkeeper will result in anything.}

08 Jul 2011 18:43:15
what are the chances of these signing please rate

1.downing
2.mata
3.nzogbia
4.jose enrique
5.aly cissokho
6.lavezzi

please reply (great site aswell very addictive) {Ed009's Note - 8, 4, 5, 7, 4, 2.}

08 Jul 2011 18:29:44
I know what I am about to says sounds Unbelievable but i honestly think us LFC Fans may be suprised by this Summer transfer Market,

I feel that we may not get Dwning and Get both Arda Turan of Galatasary and Juan Mata of Valancia the reason behind us playing friendlies with them where usually there is transfer activity between the 2 clubs

I think it may be Pachecho+ Money for Mata and Insua+ Money for Turan but this is just a suspicion of mine what do you think People and Ed's?

OldfieldLFC {Ed009's Note - realistically? No. There is interest in Mata from Arsenal and Spurs. Whilst we could probably win against both these parties our priority lies with Downing. At the moment the chances of Mata are a 4, but if we fail to get Downing (McLeish is an obstinant man) that would rise significantly. We are in a similar situation with Turan. The player would desperately like to join us and Kenny previously recommended him to Benitez. The player long looked nailed on to join Atletico but Dortmund are now interested too. I can only imagine Kenny has been put off by his questionable injury record and lack of physical stature. I see the situation as odd, but those are the facts at this time.}

08 Jul 2011 17:52:00
@ed002, the Barerra for konchesky+cash rumour. {Ed009's Note - as I made clear last night, this will not be happening. Ed002's reaction illustrated this - there is no interest from LFC.}

08 Jul 2011 18:35:44
Re ince

When he was on loan at Notts county he and they want to extend the loan another 6 months but apparently we'd only agree if signed a new contract a new contrac that he and his dad thought that was poor.

There's plenty of qoutes if you search for them, the lad now wants to leave.

Shame really.

08 Jul 2011 18:33:01
Some boy just rang up lfc now interactive claiming that he works for canal+ and that aly cissoko is apparently waiting on a phone call to join Liverpool he siad that the deal would be 10 mil but I reckon it would be double this what do you make of this. {Ed029's Note - Sounds like a prank as we all know how that club likes to bump up the prices when selling to English clubs}

08 Jul 2011 18:22:26
Hi Eds,

not sure if im reading too much in to it, but Spearing moved to shirt no. 20 to give Adam the number he wants - 26.

Maxi has moved to no. 11, so obviously not gonna be a massive signing to fill that shirt, and this may seem like a stupid question, but are we linked to anyone who favours, or currently wears the number 17 shirt?

08 Jul 2011 18:22:08
I seem to be in tune with Liverpool's transfer activity. So if what I've done continues to become real then the following players will sign. Cissoko, Richards & Higuine. Signed these players on FIFA 11. PMSL

Gav the RED {Ed029's Note - In that case please can you sign Mata, Xavi and Messi}

08 Jul 2011 18:03:48
Hi eds. A queston about our match with galatasaray. Do you think the only reason we are playing them is because insua is going there. It would make sense because he was on loan there for the whole season
Cheers {Ed029's Note - It could be to do with anything, perhaps it is because of the Champions League triumph or just a good relationship between the club or even Turan or Insua. I hope it is linked to Turan, but unfortunately we don't seem to be interested}

08 Jul 2011 17:57:35
Hi Ed

Do you think we are now keeping Rodreguiez because he has now changed shirts {Ed029's Note - No, I think he will still go}

08 Jul 2011 17:55:35
Juan Mata to sign for a fee of 22 million within a week. Arsenals petty bid and also been seen as a Feeding club didnt go down well with Mata. YNWA

08 Jul 2011 17:55:08
Hi Ed please can you help. With the fact that Rodreguiez has switched to the number 11 shirt, is he staying do you think {Ed029's Note - I still think he will go, perhaps Downing or another wing target fancies the number 11 shirt?}

08 Jul 2011 17:45:01
Doni next and then 5 more signings on the way: LB, CB, ST, and 2 Wingers.

Gone will be: Cole, Poulsen, Meireles, Konchesky, Degen, El Zhar, Jones, Spearing, Jovanovic, N'gog, Mavinga, and Insua.

Loaned out: Wilson, Shelvey, Pacheco, Ayala, Gulasci, and Wisdom.

08 Jul 2011 17:51:49
I heard this morning that Adam Johnson may not actually be that far from joining Liverpool. A reliable source informs me that L'pool have already met with his agent to 'test the water'

08 Jul 2011 17:21:17
LIVERPOOL WILL SIGN DOWNING FOR 18 MILLION POUNDS.AV DONT WANT HIM TO GO BUT HE WILL HAND IN A TRANSFER REQUEST SO THEY WILL HAVE TO LET HIM GO.

08 Jul 2011 17:09:04
Hi Ed, any truth in Cissokho moving to Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - There has been a lot of discussion on this already. There may be interest, he may make a move. Arsenal are also interested. I suspect that he is not first choice for Liverpool though.}

08 Jul 2011 15:41:35
I heard that Liverpool were looking to sell Danny Wilson...Seems a strange one to me. Anyone else heard the same? Ed?

American Red {Ed002's Note - I think a loan may be an option.}

08 Jul 2011 15:40:25
Liverpool poised to make £15mil move for Bolton defender Gary Cahill. Comolli has been in contact with Bolton representatives in the past few days.

08 Jul 2011 15:32:06
For me, there was a mistake made over Sakho who could play LB and CB well. Too late now.}

Sorry ed but why is he too late? {Ed002's Note - He has been made the new PSG captain and given a pay rise. I don't see him leaving now.}

08 Jul 2011 16:47:45
Hey eds, do you think we could sign drenthe? he's been left out of madrid's tour....
YoungRed {Ed002's Note - I guess there is a chance and there have been links in the past. But he really has been hiding away for a while so I am not sure if there is a risk attached or not. I think we may have a clearer view about Enrique in the next few days, so we will have a better idea then.}

08 Jul 2011 16:47:10
Jovanovic is in talks with Stoke :)))))))

08 Jul 2011 16:36:24
Hey Ed could you please explain to me how we signed Adam for £6.5m when we were told £9m/£10m for him?

Cheers
Harry The Red {Ed002's Note - I understand the value of the deal is in the region of £9M - this came from an email sent to an absent Director I understand. I have no idea how this is made up, or if VAT was included or not. And frankly, does it matter?}

08 Jul 2011 16:33:51
ed002 do u ever go on liverpool website it says were willing to pay the 12 mill asking price {Ed002's Note - I don't ever go on the Liverpool web site I am afraid. I also don't know who you are talking about. If the club have made a statement about paying £12M asking price for this unknown player, then it will be confirmation. The trouble is that I am struggling to figure out what you are talking about.}

08 Jul 2011 16:24:03
Jovanavic in talks with Anderlecht. :))))) ssn

08 Jul 2011 16:23:47
Glen, Flanno and Wisdom sign new contracts.
Told by a very close friend that Liverpool are very very keen on the signings of Doni, Dann, Cissokhi, Dowing, Mata, Bastos, Gyan and possibly a last mintue attempt for Adebayor

08 Jul 2011 16:23:32
Downing has just revealed he is desperate to sign for liverpool

08 Jul 2011 16:23:27
Is there interest in Michel Bastos ? Great winger , fairly cheap , older than what we are looking for but plenty of good years left in him , what do you think ed ? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any confirmed interest. But he is expensive and pushing 28. Looked Juve bound at one point. Seems unlikely to me.}

08 Jul 2011 16:20:26
hi is there any news on Jeffren from barca
watched him in the u21 and looked very good
would suit us well and could take the epl by storm
thanks {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Fulham, Valencia, Sevilla and Napoli have shown an interest. I would guess he will stay in Barcelona or move to Valencia.}

08 Jul 2011 16:18:01
ed i wanted to know if there will be any kind of marquee signing and if so which kind of players? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware that there will be a "marquee" signing, but eaqually the term strikes me as subjective. Would Neymar be a "marquee" signing? Sanchez, Ganso, Aguero, Hazard, Mata, Adam Johnson, Downing, Enrique, Doni ....? Which are "marquee" signings?}

08 Jul 2011 16:16:46
Hey .Can you please rate Marcelo for me , and what's the chance that KK try to sign him . In my opinion Marcelo could be a world class signing , cause he is could on counter attacks. {Ed002's Note - 1.}

08 Jul 2011 15:57:10
alrite ed, could u rate the possibility of these signings?
cissoko, doni, downing, a.johnson, pavielchenco, dann and mata {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

08 Jul 2011 15:50:24
Not looking good on the Mata situation. SKYBET had us 11/10 favs this morning now Arsenal are 2/3 fav. and we have dropped dramatically to 4/1. Thats to big of a swing to Ignore, Looks like the eds were right, as much as we wanted it to happen doe's not look likely.

look forward to Downing now guys.

ed - do you pay any heed to betting patterns for transfers?

Phil Belfast {Ed002's Note - No heed to betting patterns as their primary driver is where money is being placed. If I were to place £10K on Liverpool now, I expect that they would be favourites again later today. I would not consider betting odds accurate at all.}

08 Jul 2011 15:43:39
quick question, earlier ed002 replied to a post about scott dann saying we made a mistake in not going for for sakho then he said "too late now" has sakho signed for someone else? or signed a new contract maybe? {Ed002's Note - Sakho has had discussions with Barcelona about a future move but the new owners have stepped in with a pay rise and have made him the new captain. He will not now be leaving unless he demands a move - which seems most unlikely.}

08 Jul 2011 15:06:07
Ed, just a quick point... Everton to Liverpool transfers are very rare so rumours regarding Baines crossing Stanley Park can't be true. Moyes needs him to keep their defence in tact and although Baines may want a move, Moyes will do all he can to block it. {Ed002's Note - But it does happen. Barmby, Xavier, Beardsley and many others.}

08 Jul 2011 15:06:22
Wikipedia states Aly Sissiko has signed for the reds today? Any news on this rumour? {Ed033's Note - Don't trust wikipedia as a reliable source, you or I could edit it and change random details. There is no truth in this rumour.}

08 Jul 2011 14:59:20
downing at villa park having another meeting i have just been told something should be sorted over the weekend

08 Jul 2011 14:47:47
Just heard a little rumour that Downing will be here by tomorrow....also that Hazard might be a done deal....only rumours but id be happy with Hazard myself.

08 Jul 2011 14:40:32
Adel Taarabt spotted (according to my cousin dont know if its true or not) on Mersyside you never know QPR want Cole we want Taarabt maybe a player plus cash in the offing

08 Jul 2011 14:10:26
I might be old or old fashioned or old school or perhaps an old soul, but can someone explain to me why a man who is the face of a multi-million dollar business group tweets? And even more troubling, why do people try to predict complex transactions based on such tweets?
To make this post legit, does any of the eds know whether Scott Dann is still injured and if there is still interest in bringing in another CB? With Kelly included, we have at least 6 in training at the moment. Are those the ones we will see all year?

Canadian Fan {Ed002's Note - Dann is meant to be clear of injury but I guess will have to work on his strength. For me, there was a mistake made over Sakho who could play LB and CB well. Too late now.}

08 Jul 2011 14:05:52
Fulham sign Ince for 250k, I thought he was a decent player

08 Jul 2011 14:02:34
Flanagan signs new contract i know its not a transfer rumour but its good to see us holding onto good young players longterm

08 Jul 2011 13:39:32
Hi, Eds or Macca

Have you hear anything about Insua. He will stay or leave LFC?
I saw a news that said Roma will bring him to replace Riise.
He has good pass & cross and he is young & talent player fit for FSG's criteria and he is a Home-grown player.
Why KD doesn't use him for left back or sub for new player?

Mala_REDS {Ed002's Note - I suspect club and player have mutually agreed that time has come for both to move on. Roma is maybe an option for the lad.}

08 Jul 2011 13:35:16
Sky Sports saying Blackpool are close to signing Gerado Bruna & Tom Ince on loan from Liverpool. Know anymore about this eds? I thought Ince's contract had expired?

08 Jul 2011 13:27:53
Hey eddd plzzzzzzzzzzz reply this one.
Jerome Boeting is still in Man city? didnt he played well there or what was the problem with him so they went for Clichy. So is he available for transfer now? {Ed002's Note - Boateng is a centre back who is up for sale and likely heading toward Bayern Munich.}

08 Jul 2011 13:27:25
Would anyone like to explain to me why we are selling Tom ince?
looked a real talent IMO.
Bean

08 Jul 2011 13:16:25
hello eds,

i was curious if any of you had a rough idea of what Liverpool's "budget" was? I know the owners policy isn't about having a set budget but just outlaying when the right type of player is available but they surely have limits on how much there willing to spend on players? I only ask because seeing the predictions people are making, signings adding up to about 80million+ (not including Henderson and Adam expenditure)... i was just curious as to how much you think the owners will spend/can spend over the rest of the summer?

In other news heard we are in discussions with Fiorentina still - whether its selling or buying i don't know, just what i heard on the grapevine.

cheers,

SMc

p.s. love the site, top work lads {Ed002's Note - There won't be a "budget" per se for transfers but there is a cost that the club should incur over a year which includes transfers, wages of players, wages of other staff, running costs of the ground, policing etc.. These need to be balanced against income from sales, from matches, sponsorship and competition. The owners will likely have set a maximum figure they are willing to take as a loss on these figures for, I expect, three years and then would be looking for soem sort of return on investment. Don't under estimate the cost of the wages of players who do not have a future at the club nor of the losses associated with not being in European competition.}

08 Jul 2011 13:10:12
Hello, Eds or Macca

have you any opinion about Insua, the argentinian kid will stay or leave?
I saw a news that Roma will take him as Riise replacement.
He is a good cross. Why LFC don't use him for a left back or sub for new player?

Mala_REDS {Ed002's Note - Liverpool seem happy to let him move on. I assume it is mutual.}

08 Jul 2011 13:08:16
Liverpool preparing £6mil bid for Blackburns Junior Hoilett according to some dude off twitter.

08 Jul 2011 12:50:38
Just read John Henry's comments on his official twitter and while he didn't in fact say anything about liking Mata or suggest that Liverpool were in for him, the simple fact that he even mentioned Mata's name on his twitter page is quite interesting. Surely he must realise that the vast majority of Reds want Mata to join and by mentioning his name this gives fuel to even more rumours and perhaps false hope to us fans. Just wondering if any of the ed's saw the comments and what you make of Henry mentioning Mata on such a public domain?

Cheers,
Red Pedro. {Ed002's Note - Don't read too much in to it. His following Tweet certainly seems to indicate he realised he had screwed up.}

08 Jul 2011 11:52:27
Good morning ed's,
God bless your patience with the same questions coming at you day after day.
I have a question that i have not seen before(apologies if it has already been asked)In relation of Ali Cissohko from lyon for left back.I understand he is a good solid defender that would suit the epl.But does he have a good cross on him that would give Carroll the service he craves.In my opinion i would prefer Baines, but if that is not to be i would have cissohko ahead of Enrique.I think Bastos would be too old.And who would be your 1st choice from the 3?Cheers
AL {Ed002's Note - Cissokho is a good player but, and I don't like comparing players, there his no cross to compare to Baines. I would guess Enrique is still favourite but with Clichy moving to City Baines must be available.}

08 Jul 2011 11:51:08
Hi Ed's and Macca,

I'm sorry to bring up the Mata thing. Macca you mention who is saying we are in for Mata. On the transfer clockwatch on SSN online it's saying that Juan Mata's father has come out and said that Arsenal and Liverpool have both enquired but no mention of Spurs.

One of the other eds has mentioned that Arsenal and Spurs have both made offers so I'm a little confused as to where we are with it.

I'm guessing as previously mentioned that he has been enquired about but that is it, no actual offer put forward. I'm also guessing that if we go for and get Downing it will be even more unlikely we go for Mata?

Can you just clear up whether we are thinking of bidding or have made a bid for Mata?

Cheers and hopefully this will be the last post from me regarding the Mata issue.

Cheers. (and keep up the good work) {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Macca will chip in as well. His words were "Just my opinion, but i am not sure we are in for Mata", I have explained that the two clubs being discussed are Arsenal and Spurs and if Liverpool move for Mata then I suspect it will be due to Downing being a no go. The things we cannot easily do is answer questions like "are Liverpool thinking of making a bid" with any accuracy. Looking at the transcript of what Mata's father said there is no mention of Arsenal or Liverpool - just that major clubs have telephoned him but his son is on holiday and approaches must be made to his club, Valencia. That is it. This won't clear anything up because nothing has changed. Asking us to confirm something Sky Sports have said seems rather unreasonable. Liverpool may well turn to Mata and make a bid, we will see. We could easily just sit here like we did over the Coentrao nonsense again, and I certainly don't have time for that.}

08 Jul 2011 11:40:45
Ed:002 referring to the post last night about John w Henry teasing fans over mata , u said ther must be a deal done because he wouldn't tease the fans like that . I didn't get a answer when I asked u if u was serious or being sarcastic because sometimes I get confused with some of ur posts ( no-offence ) . Any chance on answering my question ? ...... The chef kd7 YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I did not see any response so another Editor would have dealt with it. I have not seen what John W Henry said about Mata, but if he was in anyway implying he may be joining Liverpool then either Liverpool have made a move for the player or he is simply being particularly stupid - which I doubt. So much store is placed on the Twitter activity nowadays that if he suggests Mata is joining and he doesn't, fans will turn on him. If he said much more he could easily be accused of tapping the player up. My view is unchanged from what I have said over recent days, in that I would not expect both Mata and Downing. If Downing is a no go then I expect a push for Mata. So what did John Henry say?}

08 Jul 2011 11:37:45
Ed - are the reports linking Arsenal with Mata for only 15 million accurate, after all that's the same amount we bid for Downing, I also thought Mata had a 25 million activation clause? If 15 million then surely we should switch our attentions immediately or pursue both {Ed002's Note - The reports linking both Arsenal and Spurs to Mata are correct. Valencia, I am told are looking for something in teh region of 26M euros for the player. Arsenal may wish to bid lower but must be wary of a bid by Spurs, Liverpool or any other club. Ignore all thoughts of "activation" clauses etc., they are generally only applicable for teams from the same country.}

Morning Ed's and fellow reds. In my personal opinion, if we sign Cissoko, Bastos, Doni and possible a striker, then we will seriously contend for the league.
Season 2008/09 we finished 2nd with Torres, Gerrard and Alonso being our big 3 out field players. Now we have Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Johnson, possibly Bastos and Cissoko. A

Dann, A. Johnson, and even Bojan are still being pursued. Albrighton would be good but can't happen now. He's probably been discussed but he'd need to hold off on signing a new contract. He'll be hot property next summer...

Bouzanis is back in Australia and will probably stay. Kewell will sign for Sydney FC.

L'Equipe are reporting Aly Cissohko is a £9m target for LFC after MCFC chose Clichy. Also, James Dalton an Arsenal fan and French footy expert is also rpeorting Cissohko to LFC for 9m.

hi eds

loving all the info - with regards to the right wing position, i agree with the posts i have seen on here about glen johnson, i think he would be a very good choice. However i really like the look of marc albrighton. Do you know if we have/had any interest in this guy as he seemingly fits the FSG model.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - He is not for sale. There is no interest that I am aware of.}

Hi Ed, Love the site, ever since i started my new job 6 weeks ago am on it constantly checking updates

Just a quick question regarding Leighton Baines. If, and i know it's a big IF, if we managed to get a bid accepted for him, would he want to come to us do you think ? As it would be a big ask as the Everton fans idolise him so do you think he would consider the move across the park ?

Thanks,

Big J {Ed009's Note - I think it would be an incredibly hard decision for him but looking at the way Everton seem unable to make a step forward, I think if we were the only option, he would eventually decide it would be in his best interests. If there were any other offers on the table though, he would inevitably choose them instead.}

Hi Ed, Love the sight, addicted to it

Any chance of Adebayor coming to liverpool. I have personally always liked him and think he would be a great signing.

62 from 143 with Arsenal and and 19 from 43 with City, surely hes worth a gamble up front, offers somthing in between Carroll and Surarez.

Plus his current position at City seems bleak and hes only 27 - a strikers best frw years are yet to come {Ed009's Note - he is a good player and is available for a reasonable price, but there is not much of a chance Kenny will welcome such an unsettling presence into the dressing room of the team he is trying to build.}

I heard 3 rumors about the Mavinga Rennes deal. Rennes are where sniffing around M'baye Niang, his agent or family where hoping he'd stay in france due to his age. the Mavinga transfer to Rennes is to ensure they drop out of the running for this lovely prospect.

Make weight for a move on their captin Kader Magane

The third is agreement meaning they drop out of the chase for Park Chu-Young.

I tend to believe the Kader rumor... hes strong Mid/Def utility player worth about £2-3m

Mata interest confirmed on ssn, father of Mata and agent confirm interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, Lets hope we get him. Although i think downing will no doubt improve our squad, Mata will bring so much more, Ideally bring them both in, ..thoughts Eds?

Kop71 {Ed010's Note - Personally, I agree. I see it as unlikely though}

ed have you got anything exciting on downing at all? be a great player for us quick, great cross, plus would link well with all the team. redlips {Ed002's Note - You know what I know - as long as you have been reading the posts.}

08 Jul 2011 09:43:29
to me it looks like we wont be signing downing which is a shame as he is a good player and we probably wont get mata so i think we should try for matt jarvis as he is a good WINGER and he impressed during his england debut and im surprised none of the bigger prem clubs are after him.

Radio City quoting DC saying there will still be a lot more comings and GOINGS during the rest of the window. I guess we will just have to sit tight and stop moaning about the slowness or lack of daily activity with transfers.

Have faith guys, that's why it's a 8 week international window and not 48 hours.

__________

The humour keeps flowing. On a less serious note: I am right in assuming there have been no bids officially submitted for mata from either ourselves our arsenal, although both clubs are "interested" If the current indications from various euro papers are to be believed then mata, s head is turned to arsenal. I personnaly feel there is so much inner turmoil at arsenal (as there was at liverpool before current owners) that it would be bad advise to take the arsenal offer. An educated guesss would indicate they are "slipping" where we are on the way up (slowly). I also remember reading that immediate CL football was not the most important item on matas agenda. No sources quoted by me as i am one of the few posters who dont seem to have any>
Jim22

{Ed002's Note - The two clubs that have been referred to as interested in Mata at the moment are Arsenal and Spurs. Liverpool have enquired previously so there has been intent shown. There is nothing to indicate that bids have been placed but things may change quickly. Valencia are looking for about 26M euros it seems.}

Ed002. Just read a link to the Telegraph stating that we're going to bid 18 million for Downing. Do you think the'll accept that, as much as i want Downing to join surely 18's a fair price if he wants to leave. Or do you think he'll have to put a transfer request to get the move to us. Jonson6 {Ed002's Note - I think they are speculating. If Downing puts in a transfer request then Aston Villa get his cut of the transfer (I think it is still 5%) so I would have thought it would be accepeted.}

i said a number of weeks ago that adidas had offered £150 million for naming rights to the new stadium and that carlsberg and standard chartered were also intrested in chipping in as main sponsors.a redevelopment of anfield was considered but because of the current design and location any redevelopment would be restricred to 60,000-65,000
the new owners have been working around the clock at building a new stadium with a new stadium design already in place and planning already given approval as long as the capacity does not exceed 80,000.
in light of city's deal with ethiad for naming rights fsg are in talks with adidas about a better deal than city's deal because liverpool is a much bigger name in the global market and they feel that any deal involving naming rights should reflect this.anfield will also be included in the new stadium name which has been agreed by adidas but as yet not by 2 other potential investors who are interested.expect a announcement within the next 4 weeks about the stadium, costs, capacity, naming rights, ect.
manchester based architects AFL have designed the stadium and the construction will be done by BIRSE.
the steel for the stadium will be shipped from china as it is much cheaper than anywhere else at the moment and estimated costs for the new ground are expected to be in the region of £300 million.
how do i know this, well i was right before and i will be right again just wait and see, not long now 4-6 weeks max

hi ed
Firstly i want to say awesome work by u guys n great site.
thanks to u all

To fellow Kopites

Warrior Sports reportedly signed a sponsorship agreement for Liverpool Football Club worth £25 million per season as of the 2012/13 season for shirts Maufacturing,
overtaking the English club record of £23.3 million paid by Nike for supplying Manchester United Football Club
and the previous deal from Adidas worth £13 million.
So it means from 2012 we ll have more funding
20 million from Standard charter n
25 million from warrior sports
that makes 45 million alone from spon.
great.
n just one fact
Rafa spend 140 million on transfers in 5 years. n King has already splashed 97 million on transfers. this shows the new owners r willing to spend. so great times ahead.

now about transfers......
Liverpool has had submitted their 3rd bid for downing later in the night of about 19 million.lot will depend upn downing talks with manager of AVFC.
n talks r being quitely done for scot dann n LFC will bid about 8 million for him later in the evening today.

E.D

Just looked at John W Henry's twitter page and he seems to be joking around with some Liverpool fans concerning Juan Mata.

Surely we are putting a bid in otherwise it would be a dangerous game to antagonize his supporters. JWH is a brilliant business man and i think he may give the people wHat they want......... which is Juan Mata

What are your thoughts E.D?

Liverpool and Arsenal will each have one of the following in the coming weeks:
Cisshoko
Baines
Enrique

Not sure who I'd prefer as they are all quality in different ways, but I think Cisshoko edges it for me. Any of them will only serve to make us stronger though. Who would be your preference Ed and could you rate them out of 10 for chances of joining us? {Ed002's Note - 3, 3, 7}

I've just been told that Liverpool have shown recent interest for Iker Muniain at Athletico Bilbao. I posted not long ago about Doni, Downing, Mata, Turan, Dann and Leighton baines and it seems that it is either gonna be Juan Mata or Arda Turan that will sign, not both. Rumours being talked up alot today that this 18 year old is a top target of camolli and Kenny. Personally I have only seen him on You tube but people are saying Damien considers him as a must have at Liverpool.

I predict that he will be a surprise signing. You heard it from me first.

Arda turan wants to play for Liverpool, he quoted= "my dream team is Liverpool F.C.." He also included his dream of play for Liverpool FC "As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them". come Kk & Cm get him we got advantage. What do you say a about eds? {Ed002's Note - It is a very old quote. Arda will move this summer and looked Atletico Madrid bound, perhaps the move is awaiting Aguero to be sold so that funds are available, but now things appear to be changing. Dortmund, apparently, remain interested but Villarreal and Spurs appear have dropped any interest that they had. I suspect Valencia and Chelsea are keeping a watchful eye on matters but to try and persuade Chelsea to let go of Drogba, Galatasaray have rather surprisingly offered up Arda as part of the deal. He has al;so been offered to Juventus. I have no idea why Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

07 Jul 2011 23:55:25
Listen everybody so you know you heard it here first...

I predict the signings in this order. Doni, Stuart Downing, Juan mata, Arda Turan then scott Dann and Leighton Baines. I have a good feeling mata and turan are being kept very quiet. Both players want to come to Liverpool. These two signings are top priority and always have been. Clubs have tried to hijack the deal but it would seem they now have given up. Once they were sure the players were interested they set their attentions on Stuart Downing, Scott Dann and most importantly Leighton Baines. And that will conclude our signings for the season. Expect all to sign within 18 days. Watch this space
