Benedikt howdes and angelo ogbonna are our first choice transfer defensive targets. Asmir begovic will replace reina. Talks are underway with ajax regarding a possible move for christian eriksen. Tom Ince will return in the summer as well. If borini is sold along with Carroll, expect a striker too arrive.

Eds if we are in the market for a new centre half, have we shown any interest in Winston Reid? Young English & looks decent from what I've seen this season. {Ed001's Note - he is not English! He is a New Zealand international.}

Eds, with Carragher retiring at the end of the season, Wilsons Contract expiring and reports of Skrtle and Coates being sold, do you think we have enough cover next season with Agger, Kelly, Wisdom & Sama?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - No, at least one CB will arrive.}

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess, just a guess mind you that 2 centre backs will arrive at Liverpool F. C, in the Summer.

I think we'll go for a recognised one, thus with experience and a younger option with little experience but highly thought of potential.

BCDI.

Stephen Sama looks quality though wonder if he will make the step up next season

From Lazio? On a free

If we was to get 13 for skrtel and 7 for coates that would be 20 mill that should get 2 good centre backs and maybe leave 5 mill over to go towards a mid or forward excuse spelling but i'm not sure what the asking price would be for marc valiente who plays for real valladoid but iv seen him 3 times this year he looks a great ball playing defender but i'm not a scout for lfc lol

Ed, 001 are we looking at ISCO from Malaga?
The guy is worldclass already at the age of 20 and is only going to improve from here on.
I would we much rather go for him than even ben arfa or jovetic and won't cost a fortune given Malaga's financial woes and his contract situation.
With carroll, downing and a host of other players to be moved in the summer do you see us atleast bidding for him?

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has not been looking to the player. Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Juventus and Spurs had previously shown an interest in Isco and he came close to a move to Dortmund last year. If Malaga are forced to sell even though they don't want to right now, they have discussed future options on the player with a couple of clubs and I would suspect Chelsea are best placed to push a deal through - although Bayern Munich and Manchester City could well make a bid. Malaga had Isco sign a new long-term contract because they do feared a move for the player in January with his contract able to be terminated for 21M euros. There has now been an increase in his termination clause to 42M euros (including a €7M to cover agent and other fees) with a significant pay rise given to the player. Regardless of this new deal, Malaga need to raise funds to pay off a debt in March - and he could end up being sold against an advance payment. Chelsea remain in discussions over the player and AC Milan might also look to the player if he does not agree to a move before the summer.}

GREAT player

Eds with Allan McGregor supposedly agreeing a deal join WBA, do you think a bid for Ben Foster is a possibility in the summer?

Aaron {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

Foster is crap on the ground would not suit the way we play imo. Tommy Irish red

Hope not

We should go for mcgregor

Hello eds,

Hope you are fine, I wish to enquire about Martin Kelly.
-What is status of his injury, contract and your opinion on his abilities.
I like him and hope he plays a bigger role next season.
Thank you,
Arpit {Ed002's Note - He should be available in a couple of months but won't be rushed back. He has signed a new contract which reflects the faith the club has in him. Perhaps the new Carragher?}

As corny as it sounds Ed, I was thinking the same thing. Ironic that he commits his long term future within 24 hours of Jaime concluding his? Martin shifting over from right back sounds awfully familiar as well. On top of all that nonsense, I feel like he even has Carra's style, that hunched over lean while he is barking at everyone else. Got to love how things like this manage to happen.
EMAN34

I think he'll be a better footballer than Carragher. I just hope he has the same commitment and drive.

rikdangerous

Seems like there is no problem with commitment and drive, the problem with Kelly is he suffers with injuries, that's something Jamie never really has done. If he can stay fit then he has a great career ahead of him. Ant B

{Ed002's Note - Wages are not a matter for discussion.}

Afternoon Eds, is Marc Muniesa in line to play for Barca or could he be available?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Barcelona will not be keen to sell Muniesa Chris.}

Thanks Ed I guessed that would be the case but I just wasn't sure how he was progressing. Shame

Anyone know why Swansea v the pool is the only fixture on the week end of the 17th? Tobiwan {Ed002's Note - Other teams are involved in teh FA Cup or were due to play sides who are in the FA Cup.}

Ed002 I thought it was because Swansea playing the Capital One Cup final the week after when we were supposed to play them? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - And both clubs are free from the FA Cup as well.}

Neither team is still in the FA cup but we were due to play Swansea when they have the capital one cup final so it was rearranged for next weekend

Also we where due to play Swansea the weekend that they are now playing in the League Cup Final, so with that having to be rearranged then the weekend of the 17th was a free date for both clubs due to FA Cup

It was moved due to the League cup final of Swansea. It is FA cup weekend. Bad streak of program for us I think, but at least we get e rest before the tough run of games come March - three aways, home vs. Spurs, and two UEFA matches!

We can go above arsenal

Replacement for Jamie in the Summer will be Angelo Ogbonna.

The Italian Marcel Desailly.

Watch this space.

I doubt it. Or as Ed002 would say I would not hold your breath.
I will be really happy if we got Dede. would be available for around 10 million pounds and him along with agger can form a formidable partnership With Kelly and Wisdom as back-up. Any chance Ed?
Also is our interest in Ben-Arfa genuine?
Personally I would rather go for Heung Min Son than give Newcastle 20 mil for Ben Arfa. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Benfica and Roma have shown an interest in Vasco's Dede over the past couple of years. Recently AC Milan, Barcelona, Anzhi, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been keeping a watching brief on the player in the months leading up to the end of the Brazilian season. A bid has been made by Corinthians although I understand it is not a destination the player would consider right now and another by AC Milan - but they have been told firmly that he is not for sale. A number of clubs, including Liverpool, have been looking at Hamburg's Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Spurs, Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion recently and Spurs had a bid turned down in January. I expect him to move in the summer. I think the Ben Arfa interest has been overplayed somewhat.}

What about Martin Kelly at centre half if he can stay fit? And to be fair, wisdom's natural position too.

Wisdom would be excellent at Centre Half, and I would imagine he will be tried in that position before the season ends.

Type 'Watch this space' into the search bar, notice how none came to light. Interesting that.

Morning eds! If suarez were to leave in summer do you think Sanchez would come to us even if no champions league? Keep up exce9llent boys. Nice 1. Gaz {Ed002's Note - Sanchez is one of the three players Juventus has identified as possibilities to play off Llorente and he will be almost ceretainly moving on in the summer. However, he is very clearly third choice and if Suarez were to leave he might well be the type of player who could slot right in. CL would be a significant boost.}

Am shore sanchez will have better options then us in the summer with cl plus I was reading a review on him saying the reason he has not ;ived up the his hype was the because the way barca play with possession not using his pace and the skill to win one on ones so with are style it would be the same probs for him

Sanchez is not a goalscorer sadly

ok eds can you tell me 1 who the club are looking to take over from carra 2 and is the football club or holding company still in debt {Ed002's Note - (1) I don't know that the club has anyone in mind or whether Kelly etc. will be given a chance to stake a claim. (2) The club will likely be carryinging some debt at the moment but it will be 15 months before it is quantified.}

Any possibility of swapping skrtel for hulk plus money?
i heard that zenit is interesting in skrtel and hulk wants to leave

I assume you mean Skrtel + money for Hulk, and are not expecting Zenit to give us Hulk AND cash for Martin Skrtel! Either way, won't be happening

As good as Hulk is, don't think he'd be able to play as a centre back
