any intrest in marko arnuatovic eds ? when deployed as a cf/st he reminds me of ibra so wouldnt mind that like , cheers EDS

REDAN {Ed002's Note - No - perhaps you are suffering from MOTD fever.}

Arnuatovic is a good player, would'nt mind having him at LFC

We will sign Fredy Montero from Seattle Sounders FC, £6.5m

08 Dec 2012 20:25:25
ed do you know what happened with susaeta? wasnt his contract supposed to be expiring around now and do LFC have any intrest in the player? CHERRS! JF LFC {Ed002's Note - Contracts run out in the summer not now, and Susaeta signed a new deal last summer - perhaps 5 years I recall.}

Where is Neymar likely to end up Eds ? Not expecting a Liverpool bid but if he goes to Real or Barca for example then good quality front men may become available. Great site btw. DBOL {Ed002's Note - Nothing is decided yet, but as you say it won't be Liverpool.}

I beilieve that he will replace Ronaldo at Real. I doubt that he would play second fiddle to Messi at Barca. I doubt Neymar will play in the Prem due to Brazilians don't adapt well to our league, weather, culture. With a few exceptions being our mr Leiva and Juninho from Middlesborough.

I thought he was gonna sign for barca {Ed002's Note - No, nothing is decided yet.}

I heard there was already some mutual agreement between him, santos and barca that he will end up there sometime. {Ed002's Note - No, there is no such agreement.}

'Brazilians don't adapt well to our league,'

I disagree, I think Brazilians adapt very well to the Premier. Id love to see the stats but I cannot think of many who have been classed as failures.

I swear real and barca especially have been targeted pretty hard by the Spanish gov to pay off debts. Unless they sell I don't think they have the money to buy Neymar atm. I won't be surprised if a Psg or man city offer a huge fee to see if they can tempt him. {Ed002's Note - Both clubs will, as you say, look to sell to fund transfers.}

Hi eds,

Does any of you know if we are at all looking at Cheikhou Kouyate from Anderlecht. He can play CB, DM and he will be an absolute star in a few years. Also, are we still looking at Aubameyang or are we solely focusing on Sturridge/Walcott? Thanks in advance.

Canadian Fans {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Kouyate. Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Manchester City, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I don't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January.}

hi Eds. Heard we're interested in loaning Morata. any truth in that?

JC {Ed002's Note - No.}

08 Dec 2012 16:32:04
ed do you know of any intest in Adam Maher or Demba Ba from LFC?? JF LFC {Ed002's Note - Last year Hamburg, Leicester, West Ham, Augsburg and Manchester City enquired about Adam Maher. There were also unsubstantiated rumours of interest from Arsenal a while back, but nothing from Liverpool. I understand that Newcastle are still likely to get an offer for Demba Ba from Galatasaray. It is possible he will move but he would look for a Champions League side. I am also not so sure that he would slot in to the way Rodgers is looking to play without the side adapting. And he could be expensive to buy for a non-CL side.}

Is alonso to liverpool true? I heard sturridge is a done deal and that liverpool might be working on a carrol for ba swap deal. What about Walcott? Are on any of these rumours true {Ed052's Note - No to Alonso. Its not a done deal, yet. Carrolls on loan at the mo - so he wont be being used in negotiations. Walcott is possible and my choice for this window if he was possible}

Scottish press reporting Kop boss Brendan Rodgers keen on Georgios Samaras from Celtic for £5m. Really? A proven CL goalscorer (scored in all of Celtics 5 away CL games this season). Yet Andy Carrol worth £30m, think you'll need to revaluate Brendon, & revaluate big as Celtic in the last 16 of CL, & can't see him leaving his beloved Celtic for peanuts.

JollyGreenGiant

He was awful at city so why would any premier league side want him never mind liverpool
LP

Let me LOL first.

And, no. u need a lot more pull factor to lure him away from a team that has progressed into CL knockout stages.

£5 million? In yer dreams.Let's buy some genuine class please.

The Plank

You are a plank mate, £5m for Samaras is a bargain! He has scored in every CL away game this including the camp nou. How many away goals has Suarez scored in the EL this season? Spend £35m on Carroll and yous laugh at the price tag on Samaras. persons!

Conor67

Playing well in the SPL is the equivalent of playing well in league 1 or the championship, I'd rather have David McGoldrick than Samaras
LP

If I was the Celtic manager and I got offered 5mil for samaras, I would have to give 4.5m back, I mean being ripped off is one thing but 5mil for samaras is just robbery.

Please tell me this is NOT true! Samaras has got to be one of the laziest players around! The fact that he plays in the CL means nothing as he is in a league with now 1 "decent" side in it!

I used to work for "City in the Community" for Man City in 2006 and let me tell you, EVERYONE at the club said the same thing! "too lazy, won't fight for the team, and cares more about his hair than his football" the man used to get booed by his own fans during pre match warm ups!

Please...PLEASE tell me it isn't true!

Canadian Red

Scored 13 games in 70 SPL games. I'd be disappointed if any of our front attacking mids and forwards had a worse strike rate

A proven goalscorer your having a laugh m8 !!!

Heard Pacheco could be sold in January. Hope not he doesnt get a chance and i think he could do a better job that Borini in all honestly. Our staff will judge him as 'not good enough' and we will sell him to a spanish team only for him to become class and we go back in for him. Just like Ince. KEEP HIM !!

Dani has had several chances at several different clubs, if he was gonna make the break through it would have happened by now

He should be playing in the 1st team as part of a front 3 with Sterling Suarez, he had a brilliant game for the under 21's against Palace.

BigD

Watched him in the under 21 s he was man of the match should have more chances in the first team

I like pacheco as a player , but the fact is he has'nt taken the chances given to him, he was loaned out to a small spainish team last season and couldnt make the 1st team. ince left because he wanted silly money when he was just a reserve and refused the contract offered to him

Pacheco was loaned out to Atletico Madrid, who in turn loaned him out to Valladolid.
That transfer still confuses me now. Dani is a very good player but he doesn't seem to fit in any of our last handful of managers plans. It is time for him to either realise his potential or free up his wages.

09 Dec 2012 10:51:51
Rafa, Roy, Kenny and now Brendan have not played him, he didn't start games when he was loaned to Norwich and didn't really play for Valladollid last season.

If he was good enough he would have been playing by now. He will not make it here and we need to accept that.

08 Dec 2012 14:46:55
How about Mario Gomez from Bayern he is out of favor n not getting enough games .we almost got him last year
Goal machine {Ed002's Note - No.}

Not getting enough games? he's been out injured for awhile hence the reason he's not been in the Bayern side but 2 goals in his 2 comeback games proves his class. no chance of getting him at all

08 Dec 2012 14:35:46
hi edds there is a lot of talk about alonso coming back in jan ( i think if he does it will be in the summer) do you think if that does happen they will recall sahin and we will get alonso for cheaper? {Ed002's Note - Sahin is on a year long loan to Liverpool. I can't see what it has to do with Alonso at all.}

08 Dec 2012 13:44:09
any chance of signing lorenzo insigne eds??

fowler23 {Ed002's Note - No.}

08 Dec 2012 12:32:19
Hey eds, Any interest in Lavezzi? {Ed002's Note - Of course not - give us a break.}

Haha seriously there are some people who are truly delusional ..

Lavezzi has just joined PSG how will
He join.

08 Dec 2012 12:02:39
Before it starts i'm gonna laugh off the speculation with the transfer rumours of Giorgios Samaras.

FowlerGod.

Samaras came out of nowhere. Yup, I'm going to LOL about it.

I think we could have already done that

More chance of pete sampras!

I see there's quite a lot of dislikes to this comment and i can't see why. The guy is simply an average player for the Scottish league. Nevermind the EPL.

FowlerGod.

As a Celtic and Liverpool fan i see both sides. i don't think he is CONSISTENT enough for EPL but on his day he is a top striker who LFC would be lucky to have. his days aren't frequent enough.

Is this the same striker who couldn't get into a City squad that wasn't worth oil money?

Samaras is simply rubbish, and one of the laziest player I have seen for a long time. People liking him to liverpool must be suffering from a mental disease. OMG is is simply awful

We had/have Caroll, who has similar complexion, but is a way better player. Why would we need Samaras when we can just call Caroll back in few months?

Alonso heading back to Anfield in January, he has not agreed a new deal at Madrid and they will cut there losses and sell in Jan, we are his preferred destination. He will be the big name singing that we have all heard about. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about a return to Liverpool in January.}

If not in jan how about in the summer? {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off.}

32 years old before he could sign for us.Big wages at his present club and settled in Spain with his family so I'd rate his chances of signing for us as very slim to zero.If you do hold your breath waiting for his return you'll be long dead before this rumour sinks without trace.I wonder how long this nonsense and the "Torres back to Anfield" drivel will keep reappearing.

hey eds, we have been heavily linked with walcott and sturridge recently, i was just wondering which one of these do you think is more likely to sign for us and which one would you prefer to see in a liverpool shirt? cheers {Ed002's Note - Of the two Sturridge is more likely to sign.}

Ed002, I think the person asking is referring to which one do you prefer to sign for us, not which one is more likely to sign. {Ed002's Note - You did not see a hint in his words "which one of these do you think is more likely to sign for us" then? Personally I care not a fig which signs.}

08 Dec 2012 10:41:17
Just got some more Fenway info from stateside guys.. Walcott is pretty much nailed on!
Sturridge is the fallback if we don't get Llorente who is BR's main target. Also the Tom Ince deal has been agreed!

Brad

Cheers Tom wener

So, Walcott, Llorente and Ince? I don't believe you at all no offence mate, but what I would give for you to be true!
Llorente would fit into Rodgers' vision perfectly, and for those who don't think so, Athletic Bilbao play the same style that Rodgers wants. Can't see it myself but I suppose we can all dream...

I think we need a full back as well. We are pretty thin there...

Apparently Dempsey was " nailed on " in the summer.

Yep, watch em all go to spurs

08 Dec 2012 09:02:24
Jordan Henderson has been given to mid January to prove his worth to the team, hence the increase in game time - Personally, think he has a big part to play in the future. Skillful, quick and hard working - just needs to cut out the silly mistakes ---- If he fails to impress, Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle have all expressed an interest.

Definately leaving in January:
Joe Cole - LFC will cut their losses and allow him to leave on a free, hence saving a reported £140k(?) a week in wages - Lille, West Ham & QPR all interested.
Downing (who I believe has his name in all 3 of Brendons evelopes) will also leave - Arsenal, QPR and, suprisingly, Stoke all interested, but we will not get over £7.5m for him.

No-one else will leave.

In: Deal done for Sturridge (unfortunately) at £12m. Butland: £8m as a replacement for Pepe who is off in the summer (despite what BR has said this week).
plus one high profile signing on deadline day. No idea who, but by all accounts, we will be v pleased!

I seriously think we should give Hendo a chance. Like I said, he should change his game to be more defensive and be our Scott Parker.

The credibility of this post was destroyed when you said jordan henderson was skillful, robbie fowler got it right at half timethe other night when he said he has a great engine, but for a lfc player you need to be doing more than just running around a lot. That from a ex player as good as robbie was speaks volumes.. Taxi for henderson....

Thank you mr Ayre for that update! Lets hope Roy Evans isn't left hanging for three hours again on LFC TV deadline day !

Marshy

How can you say on the 8th December that we will be making a signing on deadline day? That's ridiculous. If we have a target lined up and a deal agreed, surely any sensible person would expect it to be concluded early january. Why would we wait until deadline day when that player could have missed out on potentially 6 matches in January? Your post loses all credibility which that one pointless statement.

Kaka on loan maybe?

Deadline day? deadline day? are you on drugs? we are down to the bare bones here and you think we will wait until deadline day for a signing? hopefully our deals are already in place and they are done and asap when the window opens. that last window was a shambles the way things went. cant see us making the same mistake. (i hope not)

Hendo to stay long-term. In time will prove to be a decent, if not great, buy. Cole will go, possibly on a free, but likely a small fee. Downing will not be sold for less than 10-12 mil. LFC can get that much in the summer if not in Jan.

Sturridge most likely forward to come in. Ince a possibility if Downing leaves.

I think the Eds are wrong in that Fenway are willing to make a big signing but only if it's are younger player (22-25) who already has a track record and is not overpriced. Llorente probably too expensive for his age, but maybe not Cavani. {Ed002's Note - Cavani will not be moving to Liverpool in January. There is no interest and the club cannot afford him even if there were.}

LOOL Deadline day? the same deadlinbe day we thought we were getting dempsey and sturridge which ended up with eggs in our face.. I very doubt we will do the same mistake(unless the whole lfc staff are imbeciles) instead we should tie all our signings as soon as possible i.e. first week of transfer widow opens so that the new players can make an instant hit.

Henderson just not good enough he should go with the rest of k,k flops

ERR WHY.........do we have to wait for deadline day for a massive signing?

Surely if we want to progress up the league and try for that all important 4th spot all our deals should be done as soon as possible in January to try and them to give us the maximum impact.

That I am afraid is why this post has little credibility mate sorry!

Hi eds,

regarding Michael Ngoo, is it true his contract expires this coming summer (2013) and do you think he will be given any first team game time this season?

Cheers,
ForzaRed {Ed001's Note - I am not sure about his contract to be honest. If he doesn't get his chance on Sunday, I would doubt he will get another chance.}

I think he will go out on loan with a few others.
I can see Wilson and Pacheco being sold if right club is found.

Surely Morgan or Pacheco gets a start before Ngoo {Ed052's Note - None of them will start vs West Ham I shouldn't think}

Ngoo will go in the summer if not before.
CR

He will be gone come the summer. Nice lad, but just does not fit the mould for the ethos and footballing philosophy of Rogers et al.

I agree with the last but one reply, watched Ngoo for the last 2 years Think he is a good player, if he dosen't get a chance on Sunday may as well get rid, reminds me of John Fashanou unpredictable.
