Reading that palace have offered £18 million for Origi. Not sure if it's true, but if it is and we manage to get £20 million for Ings too that's good business on the last day.

Can anyone confirm if mayo ice has been sold yet?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

08 Aug 2018 22:25:46
Would be best for all parties if true (origi) . With sturridge looking Sharpe and shaquiri we have enough back up scorers. Imgsy though I would love to get a year from him and loan out Solanke.

Fekir to Chelsea?
Lordy, my prayers have been answered.

Their recruitment is all over the shop lately.
Where's the Grand Plan now?

Agree0 Disagree7

{Ed0333's Note - all over the shop how so?

09 Aug 2018 01:31:51
Not really sure how you can say they’re all over the shop. Once again Chelsea thrives in the seemingly chaotic window and comes out with a pretty good transfer list.

09 Aug 2018 06:08:20
Late change of manager and system of play?
Over-priced late signings, loans replacing failed signings, was Fakir a number 1 target or are they happy with a Liverpool reject, signings that may hinder the development of home-grown talent (specifically Loftus-Cheek), a failure (so far) to deal with the lack of goals (striker)?

The late movement all feels like a rushed appeasement for their star man.

I would never write off Chelsea because they've gotten in quality people but it could take time to bind together, and how much patience the owner and Mr Hazard are prepared to show may be interesting to note?

Agree6 Disagree9

09 Aug 2018 06:21:20
Maybe Fekir will play as a striker for Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree4

09 Aug 2018 08:03:47
We seem to be happy enough with a Chelsea reject.

Agree18 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 08:02:15
Haha, Chelsea’s window has been a sh*t show lol

I think the only positive they can take is they’ve held onto Kante and Hazard, which is basically the Spurs mentality for transfer windows 😂

I think we have had far and away the best window. Arsenal have also tried to shore up some problem positions.

Agree1 Disagree9

{Ed002's Note - Lyon approached Chelsea because they have been interested in Fekir in the long term and oasked after the player earlier this summer. Arsenal has even longer standing interest as do a couple of other clubs. The posts from Liverpool supporters are getting embarrassing again.}

09 Aug 2018 09:07:29
if signing a quality young keeper, kovacic, jorginho and potentially fekir then I've woken up in an alternate world?

Agree7 Disagree1

09 Aug 2018 09:24:28
Wow NK, you are blatantly too bitter mate.

Agree4 Disagree2

09 Aug 2018 09:37:20
They've had a good window and addressed problems, this post just sounds bitter. Focus on Liverpool!

Agree4 Disagree2

09 Aug 2018 09:06:18
Well said ed002. Can you just imagine if Liverpool went for Fekir now how embarrassing would these posters look. Not that we will be until January that is.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You don't think they are working on it as I type then?}

09 Aug 2018 09:45:58
87red, I think that is the only explanation. I had thought they got in some decent signings until I read the above and found out I was clearly wrong! haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 09:46:19
I do think Chelsea need a striker though, unless Morata pulls his finger out.

Agree6 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 10:03:13
Nope, still can’t work out ‘mayo ice’?!

Anyone?

Agree5 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 10:04:45
Seriously, we have had a great window and we already have a fantastic team. Let's just look forward to the new season. I'm absolutely salivating ;)

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 10:28:09
I think we have had a very good window and as fans should be appreciative.

It also looks like Chelsea are going to end up having a good window if not a bit late. If they get Fekir good luck to him, i personally hope we don't go for him purely based on the reservations we have on the previous knee issues he has had. If we feel that strongly about the injury that a transfer falls through, don't go back in.

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Aug 2018 10:35:49
You never had “mayo ice” Zed?

Lovely stuff 😋.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 10:44:48
I’m not sure if I’m on my own here but for me Chelsea look really strong on paper, if they can get a striker in they are bang in with a chance of challenging.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 11:35:29
We have a fantastic team/ squad on paper but have nothing won yet. let's not get carried away. It will be interesting to see what the posts on here will be like if we dare to draw a few in a row or heaven forbid loose one.
Having said that I'm really looking forward to the season ahead but realise we can't win them all YNWA.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 12:15:55
Yep, Chelsea look like they're a striker away from challenging. Lfc only need Lovren to keep up the consistency he's shown since January and we'll have a team capable of winning trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 12:48:49
Did I read that right? Fekir a Liverpool reject? Tad harsh if you ask me? I know he has a sore knee from previously falling over off a climbing frame but a reject? World Cup winning reject eh who knew?

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Aug 2018 10:09:44
ED002

When you say “they” are working on it as you type, are you referring to Liverpool working on signing Fekir, or Chelsea are working on signing Fekir?

Or have I completely mis intetpreted what you wrote there?

Regards.

Agree2 Disagree2

09 Aug 2018 10:41:37
Hiya ed002. When you say. (so you don't think they are working on it as I type) who do you mean lfc or cfc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing will happen with him now.}

09 Aug 2018 17:13:52
Mayo ice? Markov?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 17:52:20
Haha maybe a few too many wines from me 😳😂

But in all seriousness I do think we have had an amazing window and I am not bitter at all, not sure what I would be bitter about haha they’re not even in the CL.

Personally it looks like Chelsea have just treadead water by replacing their keeper with a less proven player, got ANOTHER CM on loan (not sure where they’re all going to play🤷🏻‍♂️😂) and still haven’t signed a striker that can put the ball in the net.

Agree to disagree I suppose though.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2018 18:18:31
Mayo is not eggsactly what I look for in an ice cream flavour, Ron 😉🤢.

I see rumours of Crystal Palace bidding for Origi. Around 15M.

Sounds plausible.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

08 Aug 2018 15:31:19
Plausible but I'd guess we want more. Over 20 probably. Rightly in my opinion.

Agree4 Disagree2

{Ed0333's Note - 20 mill for origi. We talking money or peanut M&M’s? If we get 20 million for origi I’ll be Ed’s 001’s bitch for the season.

08 Aug 2018 16:19:54
Not even in a world were Richarlson is 50M ed?

Agree5 Disagree1

{Ed0333's Note - to my knowledge Richarlison is circa 35 million the rest is add ons. No mate even in a word where Troy Deeney was valued at 30 million once upon a time Divock Origi is not 20 million. If Edwards gets that amount he deserves a statue at Anfield.

08 Aug 2018 16:22:33
Think they should cut their losses and accept all reasonable offers for them just to get shut.

Agree6 Disagree1

08 Aug 2018 16:31:52
We bought him at around 10mil plus the fees we got for loaning him back for one year. Anything above that should be acceptable, given that he never really made it to the first team.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Aug 2018 18:14:08
I agree with Ed’s 20m is silly. He hasn’t proven himself and people are not paying for his potential they are paying for the player he is now. Which in my opinion is no more than 15m.

Agree2 Disagree3

08 Aug 2018 18:49:56
Richarlison is £35m plus addons realting to how well Everton do in the future. In other words, £35m.

Agree23 Disagree1

08 Aug 2018 19:01:26
He's tall, quick, strong, premier league experienced.

Minimum of 20, if they want him now then they might just have to pay a little more aswel.

Agree4 Disagree4

08 Aug 2018 19:06:14
You missed out a key factor. He can't finish! Kinda key for a Striker in the Prem.

Agree4 Disagree4

08 Aug 2018 19:11:33
£15M is a reasonable fee for Origi, If I remember correctly Wolfsburg paid £6M loan fee for him last year, so we can pretend the fee is £20M+.

Agree4 Disagree1

08 Aug 2018 19:21:29
Epicpotato
That comment, hahahaha.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not funny one little bit imo..

08 Aug 2018 19:37:21
It'd be a shame to see Origi go because I always believed he'd break through but if he does go fingers crossed he can crack on and do well for himself/ new team. I agree with you ra, any profit on what we paid would be a good deal now I think.

Agree4 Disagree1

08 Aug 2018 21:49:51
He's not really impressed or performed at the required level or consistently, either for us or away on loan. I wish the lad well but for his sake, and ours, it's better he leaves whatever the price may be.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Aug 2018 22:04:27
Origi has played 2 full seasons in the Prem as 2nd/ 3rd choice striker and has scored double figures both times.
The top scorer last season outside the top 6 scored 12 goals.
Origi as the main striker in a decent team will score that and that why he's worth £20mil in this market.

Agree9 Disagree0

08 Aug 2018 22:13:48
Agree epic that other 15 m is pretty safe for Everton.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2018 23:01:30
I’m a World where Richarlison is £35m Origi should be worth £50m of anyone’s money. He will be a great striker for someone one day. Richarlison is just not very good.
I’ll never understand why Everton paid so much for Richarlison when Calvert Lewin it’s actually a better player. Is it because he’s Brazilian? Yet more gross mismanagement from the toffees that will see them relegated eventually. You mark my words.

Agree1 Disagree6

08 Aug 2018 20:07:09
Sorry Ed025. Was just trying to lighten the mood a little.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats fine EP, if we cant give each other a bit of stick now and again then whats the point?, keep it coming mate..

08 Aug 2018 16:34:48
Ed033 we as a club seem to always over price our fringe players mate. Do you no why?

It's been said for weeks that we will be busy with outgoings but here we are with one day to go and still have so many players that will clearly get limited playing time.

The likes of

Mignolet Clyne Origi Ings Grujic amongst otherso still on our books swelling the squad and wage bill just doesn't make much sense to me.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed0333's Note - to be honest mate I think it’s a case of being shafted continuously and the club have had enough. We always seemed to be Aldi or Lidl, other clubs knew they could always get a bargain from us and it seems someone up top has said enough is enough, which I wholeheartedly agree with. I think the high valuations started with the nippy Aussie fella whose name I can’t remember and Ibe. We got over market value for both in my opinion and it set a trend. There will be times that we’ll still let a player go cheap but I think that’ll be the exception rather than the norm. The players you mention will all be gone by the end of the month bar Clyne I think.

09 Aug 2018 01:10:34
Kloppbanger we can still sell players to european clubs for the next three weeks so its not one day to go.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 06:54:30
What if a European clubs wants to buy a premier league player after our window shuts, Can they offer cash plus player? Or can players only leave our shores in this strange early closing malarkey?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - can only leave.}

09 Aug 2018 01:03:10
That's a great point Ed333.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - why thankyou Mr Salah and I thought of it all by myself 😂

08 Aug 2018 12:44:20
Heard Liverpool we look at Ross turnbull as a back up keeper should karius move by the end of the month. tom heatons name was also mentioned but he would need concluding before deadline so unlikely imo.

Believable0 Unbelievable16

08 Aug 2018 14:10:12
Wasn't Ross Turnbull a joke Ed002 made the other day?

Agree9 Disagree0

09 Aug 2018 09:38:28
Or was it a joke? I saw his comment and assumed it was but perhaps it wasn’t!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2018 10:28:54
Ed002 as you were Lyon game last night did you hear anything on Fekir? Reports suggest he could move to us or Chelsea by tomorrow is he likely to move?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There was no mention of Liverpool - the club try to screw Lyon around and there has been nothing since. Chelsea has quite a lot of business to be completed still but had to first resolve their GK situation which has been done. Fekir was not available to play last night but his agent was around. I was nowt aware of anyone from Liverpool being there, and don't forget Klopp added Shaqiri to take that role.}

08 Aug 2018 11:48:38
That is bad news Ed002. Come on, you could at least keep our hopes alive. Don't kill our d-day!

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool wanted him they should have not screwed around. If they want him now they should pay the asking price.}

08 Aug 2018 11:49:05
Regardless of Fekir coming or not. I thought the Shaqiri deal was more a back up option than him playing a cam role and that we still wanted a "Coutinho" replacement. Has the situation now changed?

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything changing.}

08 Aug 2018 17:21:48
Shaqiri has been class pre season. I am more than happy to stick with him rather than someone with a dodgy knee. If we were to go for anyone during the next 24 hours i would much rather it be someone like De ligt as i feel gomez, Lovren and Matip have injury issues.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2018 18:50:37
Well done to Ed002 for staying awake at last night’s Chelsea game (my youngest is a fan for some bizarre reason) . I thought most of the starting XI were pretty poor including former loanee Moses. At least it perked up briefly in the 2nd half. It maybe I just dreamt that. No-one there from Lyon for LFC to get that interested in. Maybe Aoaur. Maybe.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I was at the match but didn’t watch it. I was busy doing other things.}

08 Aug 2018 19:02:13

Rumor has it that ed002 was at Lyon to negotiate the fekir deal taking a barber with him to give the player a stupid haircut before it is announced.
