Liverpool's striker situation could be closer to being resolved as it has emerged from Italy that AC Milan may give up on Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor following City's refusal to sell and the striker's public desire of a move to Juventus.

Milano Finanza reports that AC Milan now seem willing to turn their attentions to Liverpool forward Ryan Babel, and they firmly believe that they can re-ignite his career following a frustrating spell on Merseyside. Babel would be given the opportunity to play in his favoured role as a striker. It is thought that Roy Hodgson would be unwilling to let the forward leave unless he had a suitable replacement lined up so a swap deal involving Klaas-Jan Huntelaar could be possible. However it is more likely that a loan agreement could be in place sending Huntelaar to Merseyside and Babel in the opposite direction.

Note: This story has been taken from Milano Finanza. It does not represent the position of either party.

BREAKING NEWS * *

Lucas Leiva uses this site!!

There is no other way so many deluded people would offer a very average player so much support!

I mean come on. . there is one thing being loyal, but trying to convince ourselves he is good enough for LFC?

Brazilian midfielder with no flair, no skill, cant pass, cant tackle, weak, cant shoot, poor in the air. . Not even a stylish haircut. .

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY SEEN HIS PASSPORT?

Drop Lucas and we can think about silverware. . I promise you all now- if he gets to start 25+ games we wont even make top 4!

ANY GAUDER YNWA * *

He is a quality player and was infact one of our best players last season, also the fact hes an attacking midfielder by trade and hes playing a holding role is a change so give him a break. Also you say he cant shoot look at the tie against benefica he played, he played an attacking role and scored a quality goal!
So next time you want to chat complete s* t dont and instead go and suck on a pee-narse like a good little girl!

Christian Poulsen's expected move to Liverpool could take longer than expected after it emerged that Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have made a late offer for the midfielder, matching Liverpool's asking price.

Speaking exclusivly to Danish newspaper Det Grønne Område, Poulsen's agent Jorn Bonnesen confirmed the offer from Bayern Munich, and said his client would prefer to move to the Bundesliga Champions. He said, "It is true that we have recieved a late offer from Bayern. They have matched Liverpool's bid and asked for my client to speak with them before deciding where his future lies." Bonnesen claims that Poulsen's Liverpool move was to be completed on Tuesday but says that Bayern's interest could delay, or even eradicate a move to Merseyside. "Obviously Christian speaks the German language, and he knows the league extremly well having played for Schalke" before adding, "No-one knows what the future holds. But I have spoken to Christian about the offer from Bayern, and he is extremly excited. We will hopefully hold talks and we'll see what happens. I know what we both prefer, and all I will say at this point is that Christian will definatly be playing in either the red of Liverpool or the red of Bayern in the near future."

A lot of different ITK's on various forums are saying we've tied up the signing of Peter Crouch. No final word on price, but is not the supposed £12m that Spurs were after. Closer to £7m apparently. Welcome back Pete!

Where is cole and jovanovich (spelling?) - I agree it looks like Poulsen will be signed and probably a back up striker (crouch being touted quite a lot over the last day or so - not sure if he is what we are looking for really) however I'm sure the gaffa will choose well and with whatever money he has - by my reconing he should have appox 10mil from sales alone plus whatever the yanks have given (if anything)!

08 Aug 2010 22:54:11
It's obvious to us all that the take over is imminent because Roy seems to me to be the kind of person who is prepared and that leads me to think that he has been told to hold fire on some of the signings he had in mind at the lower end and wait and then he has a bit to spend on higher so called players, because with the international break he won't have time with players so if it wasn't imminent he would of bought the lower end so he could work with them, just an opinion.

just seen Kaka at liverpool airport with agent

I hope we dont sign him. He's obviously quality but would cost approx 40 mill. and is out for 3-4 months after having knee (i think) surgery. The last thing we need for a new season is another Aquilani situation, spending most of our money for someone to spend time in the treatmant room

08 Aug 2010 22:17:14
mario balotellis move to city will spark a chain reaction of transfers, the money from this move will fund the transfer of mascherano to inter milan.

this will give liverpool the money to buy a 2 or 3 transfer targets such as poulsen and another striker, possibly loic remy.

no big names to come in. beacuse why wud the yanks spend anywere over 5 mill on a player wen there going to sell soon so no big naames in are out until yanks have gone

To true. . Yet it begs the question "Why would they pay 6mil etc to sack Rafa. when they were about to sell"?. surely this is the new owners problem(if THEY DIDN'T WANT him)? or a bonus for them(if they did want to keep him)

08 Aug 2010 21:33:15
This is just some personal opinion.

Team by the end of transfer window
Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio
Gerrard Poulson
Kuyt Cole Jovanovic
Torres
Bench:Jones,Skrtel,Lucas,Aquilani,Maxi,Babel,Crouch

I think a back up striker could be signed and many reports suggest it could be Crouch. Also a back up left back will certainly be a priority for Roy(Bridge,Figuaroa,Konchesky) and a back up keeper to Pepe as Cavalieri wants a return to Brazil. And their shouldn't be a problem with the Poulson deal.

I have some semi-reliable sources that claim Hodgson is looking at 2-4 more signings before the window shuts.I have been told that Insua will complete a move to Genoa next week and a new left back is a priority. Also that a striker, a back up keeper,A holding midfielder and a winger if possible.

These are the names that have been mentioned:
GK:Jones,Federici-(Jones most likely)
LB:Bridge,Konchesky,Figuaroa(Could be either)
DM:Poulson(imminent)
W:Wright-Phillips(Only winger mentioned)
ST:Remy,Crouch(One of my sources claim that a Crouch deal is close)

My personal opinion is that Roy will sign Jones,Bridge,Poulson and Crouch and i have been told a takeover is highly unlikely to happen before the end of the window!!

"im just writing to tell everyone that the LM/ST we got on a free transfer is called JOVANOVIC!! not jonovic, janovic, jovetic, ivanovic etc. im starting to think im the only person who knows his name since everyone else comes out with made up names for him!"

I already new his name.

Me too.

I also knew Ken Aguero's name as well.

08 Aug 2010 21:03:06
Liverpool are not able to (afford) purchase any more players until the mascherano transfer has been completed.Once mascherano has been sold, liverpool will complete the signing of poulsen and then turn their attention to a strker. Three strikers currently under consideration are:
1:Sergio Aguero (depends on athletco's valuation)
2:Loic Remy
3:Peter Crouch

Insua is also expected to leave soon and this money will be used to sign a left back.

08 Aug 2010 20:53:08
Right!!
Lets clear things up once and for all. Any new owner WILL NOT fund knee jerk big signings, the LFC traditions will never change to a spend spend chelsea or city levels. Three new signings are imminent, Poulson is one, Brad Jones, the other I will state later. The new owners will insist on David Moores undertaking non-execuative chairman role with clear financial policy. The property behind Anfield road is being considered to be purchased to develop/extend the Anfield road stand and make the stadium 58, 000-60,000 capacity and Not develop a ground in Stanley Park. Of course any ground share is out of the question, however plans to purchase goodison were in place 6 years ago to develop into a multi-story car park and community based buildings/accommodation for youth and reserves. Masch as good as gone for circa £25 mill, Kuyt may go if the clubs valuation of £12 mill is met. Right the last of the 3 transfers will be a left sided player, as RH sees Babel as striker back-up. Ashley Youngs' agent has been contacted, more likely is Hleb who would be £4 mill.

Peter Crouch looks unlikely to move to Liverpool as it has been revealed that his wife would be reluctant to leave London for a move back north. This will both disappoint and bemuse Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson, who was keen to bring the tall forward back to Anfield, a move supported by Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard and Pepe Reina. Peter Crouch was said to be very interested in a move back to Anfield but it seems Roy Hodgson may have to turn his attentions elsewhere.

Roy Hodgson is expected to re-ignite his interest in Nice striker Loic Remy, a move he had considered following failure to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on loan and Giampaolo Pazzini's decision to stay at Sampdoria for atleast another year. This may come as good news to Remy, who wants a move to Anfield, and reports in France suggest that an £11m deal could be completed in the next two weeks.

Palermo in for Lucas but RH will not sell him seeing as Masch will leave for Inter in a £25 mill deal. Takeover will not be completed before the deadline day - so we can all just relax a bit. Expect to see Insua gone as Roy (although he likes him as a person) has already accepted an offer for his services once before. No need to bring in a left back as Aurelio, Carra, Wilson and Agger can play there.

Outs before deadline day
Degen - stuttgart (done)
Insua - Genoa
Masch - Inter
Cavalieri - loan with option to buy

Ins:
Poulsen - 5mil
Brad Jones - 2.8million
Possibly a cheap striker (but i doubt it seeing as Kuyt, Torres, NGog, Pacheco, Ecclestone, Dalla Valle can all play there.

Sorry folks - but thats it as far as the reds are concerned.

good news for liverpool because roy hodgson is going to move for winger Hatem Ben Arfa. the new liverpool team would look like this.

. . . . . . . . . . .reina. . . . . . . . .
johnson. . .agger. . . .carragher. . . ?
. . . . . . . .gerrard. . . . .lucas. . . . . .
jovanovic. . . . cole. . . . . .ben arfa
. . . . . . . . . . torres. . . . . . . . . .

roy hodgson could get a new left back if the price is right possibly figeroa or bridge. we dont need a replacement for mascherano, who will leave for 35mil, as lucas is better than aquilani, and we dont need to spend a lot of money on a defensive midfielder until the takeover is complete. bridge or figeroa would come to liverpool for around 7mil, so that means roy has 28mil to spend.

could he use it to buy a top class striker?

Just wanted to point out that it is actually Јованоич if we are being absolutely technical about spellings!

08 Aug 2010 19:21:43
Striker rumours are crazy! Torres and Ngog Yes!, but I hear a lot of people supporting the future of Babel! I think he's got 2 left feet and does not have that fluidity with his footwork (looks like a baby at times), however I fully want to see Roy use Babel and Kuyt as strikers rather than wingers. Kuyt has always done well for us, so those that hate him are not watching the same games we all do! Jovanovic is also another option at ST

To the writer that says Banega is worth £2.5M doesn't know who Banega is! :s He is worth at least £7-8m and would be a better option instead of Poulson.

Liverpool needs to invest in a RW prospect. Don't say Navas as he gets homesick very easily; Arda Turan should be our only options. When a player with his quality and marketing ability says he wants to come to Liverpool, then we MUST get him. The thing is, he's only worth about £13-14m in the market at this time. we have £15+another £11-12m from sales. I'm sure we can offload both Plessis, ElZhar and even Nemeth in a deal to get Turan for £10m or under!

I'm hoping the SWP rumour is fake. I don't like his attitude as he jumped ManCity's ship for the money of Chelsea only to warm the bench, then goes back when he's at their disposal. PLEASE DON'T WASTE MONEY IN THIS BUY! BUY ARDA FOR THE RW and sell Maxi for £4m

It would be nice to sell Mascherano and invest in Nigel De Jong (battler of the ball and does this job comparable to the greats at the DM role).

Investment from Sheik Mohammed is still in the works as he doesn't have to use DIC money to buy!

What do you all think?

Listen Carragher is slow and does foul when turned so I agree with the post earlier and I'm a proper fan but that's were I stop as he is still our best defender, what I would do is to play Kelly with him as he is quicker.

08 Aug 2010 18:46:51
Essentials to the squad is a new LB, with Aurelio's injury problems and Insua not yet good enough, a replacement for Mascherano and a LM with Jovanovic our only LM at the moment, and even he's naturally a striker. I also believe Roy Hodgson is looking at a GK and a ST, with a 4-4-2 the formation he wants to play, buying a striker who can drag defenders with him and give Torres more space, hence why we've been linked with Crouchy. The GK will be English, someone who will help us with this English quota thingy. Joe Lewis is one Hodgson is looking at, was on Spurs' radar last season and is still only young, even earned a shock call-up to the England team, but never featured. A fee of around £2m could be tabled.
LB I want Riise back. Liverpool is his home, he loves the club and would welcome a move back. He's very attacking, similar to Johnson and applies another attacking dimension to our current squad.
CM seems more and more likely that Poulsen will join, but in my opinion, and apparently many more, he is just not good enough. I would much rather Miguel Veloso or Defour, but they are around double the price.
Finally LM and the one we all want is Arda Turan. Recommended by both Macia and Dalglish, a self-confessed Liverpool fan and a proven goalscorer from the wings he seems perfect.
Line-up for Arsenal likely to be:
Reina, Aurelio, Agger, Carragher, Johnson, Gerrard, Aquilani, Jovanovic, Cole, Kuyt, Torres

Can some one please answer me this regarding the sale of the club have we been sold already because whats the point in the bidders giving the premership 10 days notice which runs upto the 13th august as thats what broughton has come out and said we will know by,is it just wishfull thinking on the bidders point or do they already know they have won, also would they have to give another ten days notice if the ten days passes.

tO THE PERSON WHO SAID THIS,

Really hope liverpool are not bidding for crouch because that means we will be going backwards and not forwards. we have got funds (15+reira money, and possibly mascherano money = around £45-50mil) to sign better, younger lively strikers one of these maybe (luis suarez 23, loic remy 23, bryan ruiz 24) what you do guys think?

Y does this mean we're goin backwards? Crouch scored goals 4 us and has scored goals where ever he has been! even at international level!! I do think he'd be a very good coy 4 torres and would form a very good together pls explain how this would mean we are goin backwards when Rafa had a reputation at LFC of mistreating strikers!

well in response. crouch is 29 years old and wouldnt be used much a year later we would have to sell him and wouldnt make a lot of money from doing so. if we buy him it will just show how desperate we are and i dnt think we are desperate. the average age in players we have in the starting line up needs to change because most are in there late 20s. Build a team for the future!! not bye a player that will only be good for us in one season that costs 9-10 mil where we can lets say buy remy or ruiz for 12mil?!. .

Ok I have about as much as i can take with most of my fellow lfc supporters! Why do people think crouch would be a good sighning? Why do people want to keep kuyt? Why do people want to keep lucas? Il tell you al why, for the past 20 years liverpool fans have always seen themselves as the most loyal supporters so there for they stick buy al players who stick on are beloved red jersey even though have of them are useless and completely over priced as soon as we show a slight bit of interest. The 3 players I have mentioned are ok players as is most of the players were being linked with, all are transfer targets are the same as mid-table teams witch I think is completely ridiculous considering were the biggest club in England by far. So until we stop giving support to al those who have been giving there fair share of chances and start competing at the top end of the transfer market I dont see anything changing! Im sori If I have ofended anyone but I just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone agrees? I have also heard that the takeover wont happen before the transfer window closes but within the next month(gutted) also heard that were close to sighning remy and the deal will be concluded within the next week

Liverpool are considering a move for Marseille winger Hatem Ben Arfa in the region of 7 million and liverpool will sign poulsen next week for 6.2 million, defour will not be moving this season, France U19 skipper Gueida Fofana has been linked with a move to Liverpool. and liverpool will make a bid for crouch in the region of 9-11 million, loic remy has also indicated that he is in no rush of making a decision on his future but has ruled out lyon and stoke as possible targets, inter will make a bid for mascherano when the balloteli deal comes through to city. liverpool are also looking at shaun wright phillips for 12 million and is expected 2 sign before the end of the TW, arda turan will most likley not be signing for lfc this window but possibley in january, augero has signeld he would love the chance to play for the team he supported when he was young and i think if the takeover happens in time this move will happen in the region of 27-39 million

I would llike to know why our fans feel we are defensively strong, when our defence were the reason we had such a poor last season. Jamie Carragher is getting older, slower, and needs to foul the oposition every time he is turned. Now I know he as been our war horse for a lot of years and I respect the job he as done, but I think he should not be in our first eleven this season, as he is on the decline. If Bob Paisley was in charge he would be out of the team, out of the club, no sentimentality in business. Carragher is not good enough anymore.I hope he doesnt cost us dear and the fans dont turn on him.

I'll give you 7 reasons why we are defensively srong!

Carragher
Skrtl
Kiriagkos (spelling)
Agger
Ayala
Wilson
Kelly

A mixture of quality, youth and experience.

PS. No decent LFC fan would ever turn on Carragher.

From my Post 3 hours ago,

it is confirmed. . the fans prefer Aquilani to Lucas.

Come on Roy- have some faith in those of us who have worked blood sweat and tears to watch our beloved LFC over the years at fortress Anfield.

Lucas adds no value and is not going to make us a title winning side.
Need the invention and guile of Aqua and Cole to unlock defences for the powerhouse attack that is Torres and Gerrard!

Aqua and Cole and we will win far more of the games that we have drawn over the years.

AQUAMAN over Lucas all day long!

Players Liverpool are currently looking at:
Figueroa (Wigan)
Lopez (Ath Madrid)
Tawio (Marsielle)
Navas (Sevilla)
Banega (Valencia)
Defour (Standard Leige)
Poulson (Juventus)
Elia (Hamburg)
Turan (Galatasary)
Huntelaar (Milan)
Rossi (Villarreal)
Remy (Nice)
Expect 2 or 3 of these players at anfield this summer!

At LB I'd say Figueroa is the clear favorite. Roy rates him very highly and would prefer a proven EPL commodity.

In midfield I'd prefer Turan and Defour. Poulsen is too old and honestly, not talented enough, either. Lucas can help cover the DM position with Defour, who offers so much in the way of vision, skill, and leadership (Capt. at Standard Leige at the age of 20 and led them to back to back titles). Turan can play either wing, is very quick, killer with the ball at his feet, and a real goal threat.

At the forward spot Roy would prefer Crouch, but it remains to be seen 1) if Spurs will sell him to a top 4 rival, and 2) if we can get him for his true value, 8-9 mil. I think Remy will be a huge EPL flop. He's a great athlete, but not a good goal scorer. He's French, young, super fast, great athlete, with questionable technique. Sounds perfect for Arsenal. I'd love to get Rossi, but he played youth with manU and not sure if he'd come here. And unless Milan get another striker, they won't sell Huntelaar. Another interesting Torres backup/partner would be Kevin Doyle, just a question of whether Wolves would sell and how much. They might be willing to do some sort of swap deal, though.

Why do we want SWP or Crouchie.

Crouch had his chance and decided to go elsewhere! Save the money and better quality i.e. Higaun or similar

As for SWP, bit of a show pony, plays one reasonable game in three can beat a player , but then does not know what to with the ball, could'nt cross a road never mind a football, and it light weight.

He's not his DAD,

anyway, now that i got that cleared up, does anyone know who the best buyer of the club would be? who will do the best for the club? H&G want the syrian to buy us but is that a bad sign? cos H&G r idiots! and when will the takeover happen?

also is Poulsen joining us? i hope he doesnt! if we really need to buy a holding midfielder it should be banega, hes younger and would be worth the extra £2.5mil

Finally, does anyone have any other transfers that are likely to happen?

thanks!

I'll get slated for this but why not try to bring in Adebayor? Will cost more then Crouchy and he'll have to take a decent pay cut, but I think he'd do twice the job.
Could pay alongside Torres and as an adequate replacement when/if Fernando gets injured. Knows where the back of the net is, experienced in the league and could help develop Ngog.

well mate i certainly agree with you everything you state here and i believe that he wouldnt cost more than 20 mill. otherwise id opt for hulk of porto as hed cost around the same but boy would he punish the likes of terry and vidic.i remember the punishing he gave vidic a few years ago. well the prospect of hulk/adebayor with torres is mouthwatering, this with turan and a lb and LFC will have a season to remember.

Mascherano will be sold to Inter as soon as the Balloteli to City deal is completed, fee between(25-35M)Poulsen will complete his move to Liverpool sometime next week.
All the crouch to Liverpool rumours are stupid,Loic Remy to hold talks with both Liverpool and West Ham next week.
Liverpool sent some scout over to to see paris saint gemain's home game against saint ettiene to watch Turkish striker Mevlut Erding.Strong source

08 Aug 2010 14:56:47
why is everyone here ok with 25m for masch to inter considering 3 months ago he was 50m. I say you offer him to barcelona for 20m plus bojan. That is a good deal and if inter really wants him they would have to put up 40 mil. With the 20 mil buy remy and defour. poulsen is way to old. Then you have 3 strikers
torres age 26 remy age 23 and bojan 19 that will be a great offense and will have time to mold and 5 or 6 years left of great foot ball together even more for the latter 2.

08 Aug 2010 14:52:57
we need to be realistic we aren't gonna sign banega or mata or aguero there way out of our price range, however RH has expressed his interest in poulsen and the deal is likely to be completed in the next couple of days. brad jones is also a possibility and so is SWP and peter crouch but poulsen will definately sign

EXCUSE ME FOR ANY SPELLING MISTAKES.

WELL I WAS LOOKING AT OUR LIVERPOOL TEAM, SCOURING FOR ALL THE LATEST TRANSFER RUMOURS AND NEWS.
I TOOK A REAL GOOD LOOK AT OUR TEAM MINUS : INSUA + MASCHERANO.
DO WE REALLY NEED STRENGHTEN OUR TEAM.

DEFENCE: WE HAVE ENOUGH DEPTH TO COVER ALL POSITIONS.

HOLDING MIDFIELD: GERRARD CAN PLAY IN THAT ROLE AND WE HAVE PLENTY OF VERY TALENTED AND PROMISING YOUNGSTERS.

MAYBE 1 EXPERIENCED ADDITION

ATTACKING MIDFIELD : PLENTY OF DEPTH AND STRENGTH

STRIKER : DECENT BUT MORE COMPETITION NEEDED TO MAKE IT BETTER

MANAGER : AWESOME (PROOF IS THERE IN THE WAY HE HAS REACHED OUT TO THE PLAYERS/ HAPPINESS AND NEW FOUND CONFIDENCE IS IN THE SQUAD.

SO WE NEED A STRIKER AND DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER, BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE ON THE BENCH TO SERIOUSLY IMPROVE AS A UNIT. NOT SOME AVERAGE PLAYER.

SO BASICALLY IF WE DO ADD THEN IT WILL BE 2 TOP PLAYERS
1 STRIKER
1 HOLDING MIDFIELDER

LIVERPOOL HAS A BRILLIANT TEAM NOT ONLY TO CHALLENGE FOR TOP4 BUT ALSO FOR THE TITLE AND IF THEY DO ADD THE 2 TOP PLAYERS NEEDED THAN THE TITLE IS NOT OFF LIMITS.

Question more than a rumour really. .

If we as a club have spent 20mill on Aquilani, then why would people consider Lucas ahead of him?

Firstly Lucas has had 30 games + to prove his "ability" and all he has really shown us is that , "he is improving" That doesnt make him good enough to play in LFC midfield.

Lets be honest here - we need to replace Alonso. So is it Aqua or Lucas who can do that job best?
Lucas cant pass and certainly cant shoot. Aqua has flair, pace, quality movement and a great shot.

So those of you who feel Aqua should be 1st choice CM click believable. . those who prefer lucas select Unbelievable.

Thank you to the person who stated that mash would not be sold for 25 million. Finally someone who sees common sense! He is not a good enough player to be rated as over 30 million, but he will be sold for that amount easily! Also, don't expect a replacement to be signed as Lucas is Improving all the time. .

Liverpool will sign from Man City - Bridge, Richards and Wright Phillips plus will approach ref a loan move for Bellamy.

08 Aug 2010 14:38:59
I've tried to tell them that no Anfield employees/ex-players or people in the know, know anything about the takeover bid
who ever said this is an idiot. There are ex-liverpool players all over the place. I think king kenny is in the know considering he was on the selection group for a new manager and just being in anfield you obviously see and hear things. How could you miss 20 guy in suits you have never seen before that most don't speak english.

08 Aug 2010 14:38:41
A firiend of mine lives in Portugal, and the press out there is full of the rumour that Hulk of Porto is on his way to the Reds.

Fee's ranging from £12m to £18m have been suggested.

Lets hope it is true - Could do a job for us !

08 Aug 2010 14:36:53
Shock move by Liverpool - I understand that LFC have made an offer to Manchester United for Anderson - £8m inital offer but willing to go to £10m.

Altho Anderson cost Man Utd nearly £18m, he is not in their plans for the coming season, and the board have put pressure on SAF to reduce the wage bill, so it may well be accepted.

Hodgson has been a long term admirer (and apparently tried to get him on loan at Fulham last season)

No sold on him as a player myself, but we will see!

Mata.(£20m)                        Cole

                  Torres

2nd XI:       Brad Jones(£3m)

   Danny Wilson.     Martin Skrtel
Philipp Degen.                   Fabio Aurelio

                 Lucas Leiva
  Jonjo Shelvey.        Alberto Aquilani
Dirk Kuyt.                  Milan Jovanovic

                 Bryan Ruiz(£12m)

+Babel, Pacheco, Maxi = 25 Man Squad
 Cost= £56m
Sell a few players for about £10m
Transfer budget from H&G £15m
Leaves £31m from new owners arriving on 13th August, (read comment at 09:05:38).
Also would get Iker Muniain(£1m) who is quality.
You have to admit that team is intense, definitely would mount a title challenge, also I reckon even the 2nd XI  would end up fighting for a top 6.

08 Aug 2010 13:11:30
Stop with all the "Masch going for 25 mill" rumours.

Hodgson has said that LFC have put a price on him and until that fee has been met he wil remain a Liverpool player. .

So do you not think at 25 mil Barca would have already signed him? Yaya Toure 27mil. . Masch only 25 mil? get real!

RH priced him at more like 35milll so STOP with all the rubbish!

Lucas is no where near good enough replacement as he lacks timing and pace.

Lets see and stop guessing.

A good friend of mine sent me a text last nite-8.30 Saturday night saying the following "boys its a done deal liverpool are bought over-inside info. il know more on monday"
Now I dont believe this for a second, but my more gulible and less informed friends do believe it as his Dad is a partner in Aldo's Bar in Liverpool and regularly gets "inside info" on LFC goings on from the "well informed" john aldrige. I've tried to tell them that no Anfield employees/ex-players or people in the know, know anything about the takeover bid and even shown them Aldo's statements and articles (from the start of the summer mostly) where he has made predictions about LFC's future and been WRONG. just wondering if anyone else has got news on that front? One question I have for the ED is have LFC contacted the premier league over a possible takeover? (you know that 10 day rule?)

Mascherano will be the only player out of Liverpool, Roy reckons Lucas is decent, Insua is only young, Kuyt's workrate is immense, Babel still has potential, N'gog is only young, and has potential, Maxi cannot leave until January( doubt he will leave anyway ), Kyrgiakos has an aerial advantage, which will be key against certain opposition, ( tall strikers/target men ), Skrtel had a great WC, and is finding his form, last season was a blip. Aquilani is trying to overcome his injury troubles, and if he does, he will be a great player, Roy would like to keep him. Reina, Torres, Gerrard, Carragher, Agger are the untouchables, as they are the spine of the team.

RH will look to bring in 2/3 players before the end of the transfer window, but he has 6 targets; 2 CM, 2 ST, 2 LM, these are as follows:
Poulsen, Defour, Remy, Turan, Crouch, Huntelaar
My Predictions for the League:
1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. Liverpool
4. Manchester United
5. Manchester City( the top 5 to be very, very close, could be different order but it will be that 5 )
6. Aston Villa
7. Everton
8. Tottenham
9. Birmingham
10. Newcastle
11. Sunderland
12. Stoke
13. West Ham
14. Wolves
15. Fulham
16. Wigan
17. Bolton
18. Blackburn
19. West Brom
20. Blackpool

This is the team I expect Roy to start with against Arsenal!

Reina
Johnson, Carra, Agger, Aurelio
Kuyt, Lucas (I would go with Aqua, but Roy won't!), Gerrard, Jovanovic
Cole
Torres (if fit!)

If we sign a few players then possibly the strongest 11 we will have is;

Reina
Johnson, Carra, Agger, Taiwo/Figueroa
Kuyt/Bentley, Banega, Gerrard, Jovanovic
Cole
Torres

What do you all think? Believable or Unbelievable?

Just heard a rumour that Tom Hicks and George Gillet will take liverpool fc to court if the 5 man board opt for Huang instead of Yahya Kirdi. Gillet and Hicks are desperate to get around 600 million and will even stall Liverpool's inevitable takeoever due to their own ego's. I don't think that this takeover will be concluded before the transfer window closes.

if james milner is going to city for 25mil, mascherano is a million times better, so why isnt he going for 35mil or more

i dont thing we need a replacement because lucas is improving, him and gerrard will be perfect and roy hodgson should spend the 35 mil we should get for mascherano on a back up for fernando and a new winger.

who should it be?

"roy is looking for a english keeper to sit on bench due to homegrown rule BRAD JONES of MIDDLESBORO is a option and all tho a £2 million pound offer was turned down last week expect a improved offer of £2.5 to £2.8 million to go ahead soon once completed CAVALERI will go as he wants first team action"

FYI - Brad Jones is Australian. I could be wrong (due to him playing in Middlesbrough's youth system), but I doubt he could be used as a homegrown player for Liverpool. He was in Australia's 2010 WC squad but left to be with his sick son.

Keep up the rumours boys, girls and ED, we don't get much in the press in Oz. Thanks.

Mash to have been sold for 25 once the deal for balotelli has been completed. With this cash Roy will look to sign none other than Oscar Cardozo as he believes he will be an excellent partner to torres. On top of that, if the takeover goes through, a cheeky bid for Adam Johnson will be placed, although it is unlikely to succeed. Love the site Ed!

Liverpool jumped to the front of the queue in the race to sign Marseille playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa after he told French newspaper L'Equipe that he wanted to move to the Premiership and that it would be an honour to play alongside Steven Gerrard.

"Obviously the English Premiership is the best league in the world. There are other great leagues like La Liga and the Bundesliga but England stands out for me." He added, "I think it's time for a change in my career, in my life and I want a new challenge." Ben Arfa also stated that he had no contact from anyone at Newcastle about a loan deal and doesn't believe it will happen. When asked about what club he would move to, he said, "There are great clubs in England like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Many great people and many great role models. But Steven Gerrard is an ideal role model and it would be an honour to be in the same team as a player of his standing." He was tight lipped on speculation linked him with a move to Liverpool, saying, "I've only finished a tough game for Marseille and all I can say is that I am a Marseille player for the moment. I will wait and see what offers I get but there are teams asking about me. I just want to go to Clairefontaine and give my mind and body a rest."

It seems as though Ben Arfa would be extremly interested in a move to Merseyside and the early indication is that a deal could happen sooner than expected.

can't believe that peoples WISHLISTS have players like turan and jovetic over mata.

Juan manuel mata is going to be one of the leading stars in world football would cost in the region of £20m ( masher money) twice the player than turan.

why does everyone underate Arda Turan have any of you ever even watched a Galatasary game or Turkey game? I am part turkish and i can safely say if Liverpool were to sign hed be access he has the physicality for the prem and i have watched him many times and not just on youtube like the rest of you. Liverpool will sign him for 15-18 million pounds.
You all have him in your dream teams but how many of you have seen him play he is so under rated

08 Aug 2010 07:02:33
Crouch? Ugh, no thanks!

Not an unrealistic option IMO

Also another player that i would love us to sign Kieran gibbs just been called up to the England squad will be 1st choice in 3 - 4 years after cashley still 2nd choice left back at arse behind clichy probably cost 10-15m money that has/can be raised by sales of beni riera and insua.

Genoa are lock in talks for Liverpool fullback Emiliano Insua.

Datasport says final negotiations are underway to complete the transfer.

The Rossoblu have reached an agreement with Liverpool for just under £5m and, as with Fiorentina, only personal terms are the stumbling block.

Liverpool will complete the signing of Peter Crouch by Friday. Discussions have been ongoing for the past two weeks, an 8m fee being agreed. Crouch is eager to return to Mersey after Redknapp told him he did not feature in his first team plans. Hodgson is a big admirer of Crouch and received glowing recommendations from Gerrard and Carragher to sign the big man. He is due on Merseyside on Wednesday to discuss personal terms and to undergo a medical. The full story will be revealed on Tuesday in The Mirror.

Just in : Liverpool are in advanced negotiations with the likely signing of Sergio Aguero for 35 mil (upfront) or with Babel and Insua going the other way plus 20 mil.

The funds have been made available through the impending takeover going through hence Purslow's trip to Madrid just recently.

The funds from any potential sale of Masch will go towards a replacement, for Masch however he may stay now that Aguero is looking likely to arrive, (their Argentine connections will convince Masch that we are serious and Masch had talked up Auero quite a lot to Rafa before he left)

Either Poulsen and Defour to come in as replacement or possibly Poulsen and the rest going towards topping up the balance to go towards Aguero purchase, if At Madrid do not accept player plus cash exchange. (which is looking more likely) they will need the funds to go towards a replacement for Aguero with Luis Suarez a last minute option if aguero is signed in last week of transfer window.

Loic Remy or Hatim Ben Arfa are being lined up as replacment if Kuyt does join Rafa at Inter, (personally I prefer Kuyt over both these.
I mean If I had to find a replacement for Kuyt, I would want a premiership proven player and would like to see Roy sign SWP cheap and proven, If remy was bought in aswell as SWP that would be awesome as we would then have two options and Maxi on the right.

Plenty of dreamers on this site, fun to read anyway. thought id add my wood to the fire.

from what we've seen in the press over the past fortnight we can assume we've got between 4 and 6 potential buyers. kenny huang wants liverpool and he wants everyone to know it, he wont let G+H take any profit from the sale because he doesnt believe the club is worth anything more than the debt. The only reason we know about him is everything is fed to us through his PR firm - hill and knowlton. Realising the potential zero profit they could be left with, the redneck owners have brought in Kirdi to make some headlines and try to get a bidding war going between the other (hidden) prospective owners.

H+G employed Broughton to find them a nice rich (probably arab) buyer to take the club off their hands and leave them with a decent profit. For this reason, lets assume Broughton will not vote for huangs bid when it is tabled - huang obviously knows it too. why else would he circumvent broughton and go straight to RBS to "register his interest". Kirdi will not be our next owner purely because he doesnt have the funds.

When it comes down to decision time purslow, ayre, broughton, gillette and hicks will sit down and vote on which bid to accept. kirdis will not be on the table because its a load of boll*cks. the 2 offers on the table will be the offer from huan and the second bid will be from the whoever is willing to outbid huan and has passed the "fit and proper persons" test. LFC are guaranteed to be left with 2 bidders capable of building a stadium and plenty of funds for transfers. just look at the history of attempted buyouts.

Broughton, hicks and gillete will go for the second bidder, taking purslow and ayre out of the equation. they will NOT be voting for huang because hes only bidding the same amount as the debt. lets hope the second bidder is either Sheikh muhammad bin rashid al makhtoum, DIC or prince faisal bin fahd bin abdullah.

Anyways. . broughton will take his cut, G+H will dissapear, LFC will use ibrahimovic, diego, aguero and torres up front playing a revolutionary 4-2-4 formation to win the title, the league cup, the FA cup and the. . europa cup?. . . then i'll wake up.

the takeover happens before the transfer deadline expect A bid for james milner ,
The bid for james milner will be the big signing RH has been hoping for since his arrival, plus the return of Peter Crouch ,Crouch was very effective and Benitez was a fool to let him go ,Crouch is an ideal target man to take the pressure of your team ,sucks in defences and causes all sorts of problems for CB,s this allows someone like Torres more time and space to attack the ball and also brings more midfieders into play . please bring back crouch ,sign milner ,turan ,benega ,poulsen ,abidal and van der weil

All reports in the media concerning A. Turan who has said he dreams of playing at Anfield (We always sign players that say that) K. Ben Arfa and Figueroa are true and expect them to be Liverpool Players before the takeover of the club. Roy has said he is not prepared to gamble on waiting for transfer funds from new owners (Fact) And Liverpool are only shy of a few players to be genuine contenders to get back into the champions league next season which is the main target this year unfortunately.

The 4 signings will be made as part of the Mascherano deal which is believed to be around 28 Million and the 9 players listed below that are definitely leaving Anfield this summer. I personally think this is the Liverpool way and were not going to be making huge signings to make a golactico team when the takeover happens because Roy know's what he is doing and is sticking to the original plan.

When an investor buys the club Roy Hodgson will look to buy 1 star player to back Fernando Torres and send Danny Pacheco on loan.

Players Out

Javier Mascherano - Inter
Lucas - Palermo
Degan - VFB Stuttgart
Insua - Fiorentina
Diego Cavalier - Back to his native Brazil
Damien Plessis - Benfica
Charles Itandje - Blackpool
Krygiakos - Back to Greece
El Zhar - Back to France

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is on the look out for three players and will step up his chase to aquire them before their opening game against Arsenal at Anfield. He's made so secret of his will to sign a left-back, but will delay his search until Emiliano Insua is offloaded, with Genoa now emerging as potential suitors. Maynor Figueroa still remains his top target, and he will hold talks with Wigan in the coming weeks.

Hodgson is on the lookout for another striker to take the weight off Fernando Torres and his efforts to sign Peter Crouch seem dead in the water as Tottenham believe his value has increased above the £9m they paid for him. There is no indication as to who Hodgson may move for, but with Loic Remy turning down a move to Stoke, Hodgson may make a last ditch attempt to lure the striker from the clutches of West Ham. Remy has expressed his desire to move to Anfield despite interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, and a deal could be back on.

It has today emerged that Hatem Ben Arfa could be in Hodgson's sights. Newcastle are looking to aquire the French winger on loan but a move to Liverpool would be the more desirable offer. Marseille boss Didier Deschamps has told Ben Arfa he is surplus to requirements at the Stade Veledrome, and Hodgson would be keen to snap up the winger who would add an exciting new dimension to the Liverpool attack. This move is most certainly on the cards and Hodgson would be willing to get a deal done quickly, certainly in time to have him available for the Arsenal match.
