ed do you think the valencia coach emery could possibly be the next liverpool boss........He looks likely to leave valencia at the end of the season.
cheers
JF LFC {Ed001's Note - no idea.}

I like him as a manager...but I'm starting to come around to the idea of giving Dalglish another season.

GuvTOB

The Valencia Fans Hate him aswell as the Valencia board. Keep Kenny in charge for another season and back him.

saldado refuses to come on in the madrid game and has fallen out with the manager good new for us maybe macca is speaking sense woop woop adamlfc

He did come on?

Square tomato

I watched the game & Saldodo came on! What's your point? - Sparko

No he hasn't so why make up nonsense ?

Did you not here what the pundits said at half time they asked if he was injured and if he will be coming on witch he responded "no im okay" try paying attention before slaging people off you mugs an try watching the game an not just reading the post match stats

Hi edds, wicked site.
Jefferson farfan is available on a free in the summer just what Liverpool need, he can play right wing or upfront... What are the chances if Liverpool bagging him? {Ed002's Note - Assuming Farfan does move, I expect Italy with Inter, Juventus, Palermo or Roma most likely. However, interest from England will not be out of the question and several clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea to name but three) are looking for wide players. Schalke made it clear that they would sell in January for 7M euros, but a niggling injury kept buyers away. As such, he will be available for a free transfer this summer.}

08 Apr 2012 22:30:59
Ed, when someone asked you earlier what positions we were looking to strengthen you said "Probably Goalkeeper"

When you say that do you mean as back up or for a possibly departing Reina?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - No for a likely departing Doni or possibly departing Brad Jones.}

How about gulasi? why don't give him a chance? {Ed002's Note - He may well get a chance if both Doni and Jones leave. Liverpool were looking at a goalkeeper in January and I am unaware of anything to say that they won't continue to look for one in the summer.}

Why have u not considered gulacsi ed? He could be an able backup for pepe.
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - I was going on the basis that we know that the club have been looking for a goalkeeper.}

08 Apr 2012 22:04:31
hi ed, what is the situation with soldado because he isnt playing in tonights game against madrid but the commintators are saying hes fallen out with the club or something? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of that right now.}

I didn't watch the match, but I'm very sure he was on the pitch.

He did come on

Try watching the match before you comment then. the pundits asked saldado if he was injured an if he was coming on in the second half witch he replied "no im okay"

Thanks for replying to my previous one mate, just another quicky...
For realistic targets I think we need Adam Johnson, nathaniel clyne, luuk de Jong and Kevin strootman. I have seen you respond to Johnson and de Jong ones frequently, what about the other two? Thanks again mate {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of interest in Clyne right now but Manchester United are looking at Kevin Strootman who was previously watched by Liverpool but PSV may not be looking to sell just yet. So he remains a possible option but I would expect plenty of interest if he does become available.}

Adam Johnson fits the transfer policy and he would be a great signing

08 Apr 2012 21:45:58
Hello mate, any interest in yann m'vila? Love to see him next to Lucas next year, Lucas holdin givin him freedom to pull the strings we need pullin! Only because Martinez is the sought after one now we could sneak in a bid for m'vila? Thanks mate {Ed002's Note - Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG will become interested as well.}

Where do you think he could end up? and have we shown no interest or simply have no chance? {Ed002's Note - There has been no interest shown and he could move to ARsenal if they are willing to pick up the tab.}

08 Apr 2012 21:38:28
hi eds. Hope your good. Do we take this as a pinch of salt. CAUGHTOFFSIDE, are stating KK is looking to bring in etihad duo Johnson and Adebayor as spurs will not be able to bring in his high wage demands. Whats your thoughts ed. Thanks {Ed002's Note - If Johnson comes up for sale then I think there could be interest. Adebayor seems less likely.}

They are able, they just won't break their structure!

Edinson Cavani , not Adebayor

08 Apr 2012 20:22:11
Any chance of feghouli for right midfield...has been on exellent form for valencia {Ed002's Note - Not likely.}

08 Apr 2012 20:23:12
Adam Johnson is apparently not in Macini's plans for next season with Mancini asking to be backed by the owners once more so he can try and buy the Premiership.

Any fresh Ed news on Adam Johnson's situation in the Summer? {Ed002's Note - Nothing right now.}

Mancini may not be in Man City's plans. They expected SOMETHING this year, and got nothing.

08 Apr 2012 20:37:11
Sky reports Mancini to sell mario and I think lfc should buy him as he is entertains and bags goals for fun also go for man city s Adam Johnson as he wasted at city sell aqua maxi Jon shelvy and Charlie Adam Andy Carroll and downing part exchange um and cash for player s example swop downing and 10 mil for lavezzi clear wages and being talent Carroll and 20 mil for cavani

Holy Hands of Jesus.... What a statement, Ed's this has to be up there as one of the most ridiculous posts ever?

Wow so Lavezzi only valued at Ł21million then?BARGAIN!!

Why do we need lavezi, cavani, balotelli and suarez. maybe three but not all 4

U took the words right out of my mouth !

Don't want that clown Balotelli anywhere near Anfield, he is a total liability.

Ballotelli is a clown and a lost cause, if he can't get his act together for someone who he suposedly respects in mancini, why would he be different anywhere else? Constantly being defended by him, and for what? Doesn't score enough to warant his trouble at a club, wasted talent with bad attitude

Carroll in Italy, they'd have to start importing Newcastle Brown Ale by the Boeing 747 load :)

But i think Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson would extremely good

Think someone's been playing a little too much Footy Manager...

Why would you want the baffoon anywhere near the club, especially considering the situation at the moment

08 Apr 2012 19:53:55
Eds are these rumours true that Suarez will be leaving if Kenny was to go?
Do they have a that close relationship? {Ed002's Note - It is what one of the newspapers is reporting.}

Its the daily star I will ignore it not saying its impossible but

The idea, a player would leave because the manager does is plain stupidity

08 Apr 2012 19:53:25
Hi ed what about Victor Mosis (spelling may be wrong) the wigan player? {Ed002's Note - No.}

08 Apr 2012 19:31:19
Rumour has it that Reina wants out....

Vorm in and I'll be a happy man.

I'm hearing Malaga are willing to pay big money for him and he's considering his options after yet another poor season in England.

Cash in on him. He has been awful this season and his attitude seems needs questioning when things are not going well. We need winners in our team.

Sell him and with money get akeeper who wants to play for Liverpool and commands his box.

steve068

It's due to our poor form and the sending off the other week. there's a worry he'll be left out of the Euro's squad because (as we have seen with Torres' recent exclusion) VdB picks a squad entirely on current form - Casillas is team captain, the number 12 plays for the best club team in the world, and the third choice may well end up going to a youngster who is about to win his first league trophy in his first year at a new club.

If Pepe doesnt make the squad, he'll want to be closer to home, as national pride is a big thing to Spanish players, and Malaga will definately pay up.

This is disgraceful, after all he has done for the club and "fans" and so fickle to want him out for a couple of poor games. He has been absolutely class for the time he has been at Liverpool and people to question his commitment to the club is crazy. He is one of the most passionate players we have. Although he was stupid to get sent off surely that shows how much he wants Liverpool to do well.

-Al-

Sinking ship dont blame him. manager is cluless and arguably has made some of the worst signings in prem history

This rumour is bull as reina had a Barcelona player in his box at the Aston villa game could be a signing for the summer or over to visit reina.

He's probably concerned about where the club is headed. Who can blame him?

We need to steady the ship ASAP.

After this season,would anyone blame him for leaving?

I can honestly say, as a season ticket holder, I've never taken to Reina. OK. He's been a good keeper at times, but no were near a world class keeper. He'll never make Spain No.
he never comes for crosses. His positional sense at corners is woefull (plus he's always looking for the foul)
But worst of all, he's got a big mouth. He's always telling other players how to do their job when he needs to concentrate on his own.
2006 FA cup - he was at fault for both goals.
2012 League Cup - at fault for both goals, didn't get near a penalty.
plus the goals he's cost us this season.
Time to go. Need a commanding goal keeper. Not an overindulged ego

I think he has been great for us. i would not blame him for leaving. if he does i would like tim krul to replace him.
the wise one

Its common news Reinas wanted out for years he even said he does/did in his book, he's been good over the years but this season he's been poor for us, if it came up in the summer he wanted to leave then so be it but he would need to be replaced with someone of the same stature ie somebody like Lloris who we were linked with last year

08 Apr 2012 19:19:25
hi eds, great site. have we looked at kevin "the Fresh" prince boateng or "jazzy" jeffren suarez? possible targets for the summer-time? {Ed002's Note - No.}

If we go down that route, we would be interested in Ashley Banks Cole, 'Big guy' Phil Jones, and dare I say it, Carlton Cole.

Rafa's Purple Goatie

08 Apr 2012 18:46:02
Hello Ed...A question with regards to our link with Vargas. Given that he's 29 this year, and this isn't in keeping with our present transfer policy, is there any truth in it? Cheers... Rome 77 {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

When are people going to realise that the Age policy is merely a guide. The Bellamy signing confirms that we are able to stray outside it every now and then.

08 Apr 2012 18:33:30
Eds do you know if we are interested in Kevin Prince Boateng? {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

Good player but is in league contansion at milan so wont move

08 Apr 2012 18:17:02
Are we really in talks with juan manuel Vargas and what do u think the chances are for Soldado and Munain to join us in the summer?

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Stop saying see earlier answers and just say! {Ed002's Note - Then people get pissed off with the same answer being given over and over again.}

08 Apr 2012 18:14:07
Hello Ed002,
so it seems that Inter got Isla. I think LFC should try as they can to get Lavezzi and LLorente. And release Maxi, Kuyt, sell Johnson and get decent replacements. I don't know what will happpen with Andy and Luis, should any of them leave, another striker is needed - maybe De Jong of van Woflswinkel. And I think they should try to get a keeper. The rest looks pretty solid and should look much better next season. Look at City. They got many solid expensive players and will probably finish second. Happe easter to all eds and all visiters to this nice site.

We really are up s**t's creek ar'nt we! Back to square1! We need to get this right otherwise we could be lagging behind the rest of the so called big club's for year's! FSG know they have to spend big again and take some big loss'es!

Will these guys sign for a club who is not involved in Europe ? I doubt it sadly

barra1591

We are involved in Europe ya nut

Martin

08 Apr 2012 18:07:51
eds do we have intrest in soldado and munain and how strong is it?

and i have looked at previos answers and cant find anything on it

thanks keep up the great work {Ed002's Note - Perhaps if you spelt Muniain correctly it would help.}

What is the point in correcting the spelling of a player. Not really what the site is about is it ? We all knew who he was on about so why bother ? {Ed002's Note - The point is that using the search function with an incorrectly spelt name will not give useful results.}

Sarcasm really helps eds grow up and answer the question {Ed002's Note - It is not sarcasm, it is good advice if you wish the search function to work. Go find another site to troll - cretin.}

Dunno why you're giving the eds hassle. Its clear the search option ain't gonna find posts on that player if you spell his name wrong!

08 Apr 2012 17:32:11
kevin keen will be asked to leave end of the season and Jamie Carragher to take his place in a boot room shake up . dalglish does not believe Keen as the liverpool heart to help take the team forward .

Keen has not had a positive impact on the team and is liable to leave but Carra should not take his place. We should get an experience coach and allow Carra to observe every aspect of managing since that what he wants to do in the future rather than thrust him into unknown territory for him as at best he has only done basic coaching.

I'd give Carra a spot on the coaching staff, the old Boot room style of managing was great until Souness got his way.

Wasnt Keen part of the setup which took West Ham down? I found it strange we appointed him in the first place as Rushie was a strong contender at the time. I would like to see Carra on the coaching staff BUT i thin one of our problems has been that we dont seem to have many backroom coaches. Kenny is not a coach himself so surely hee needs more support staff. Why hasnt Valero been replaced as gk coach? Do we need someone to help our strikers?

Obviously this doesnt solve the fundamental problem that we have signed mid team players who have brought us down to a mid table team.

08 Apr 2012 17:14:51
hey eds what other teams have intrest in soldado and munain and who you say we have a good chance of signing soldado?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Use the search function please.}

08 Apr 2012 17:11:05
Roberto Martinez has emerged as the front runner to take over from KK if he is to be replaced in the summer. From a very good source... Angelinas right leg.

Always good getting a manager who's team has just been relegated from the league we have just brought him in to try win for us...

He is a fabulous manager and very underrated in my opinion
derryred

So next season we will see moses, rodallega, caldwell, alcaraz and figureroa join us. oh joy.

08 Apr 2012 16:42:51
Apparently spartak want to get rid of mcgeady
But they want 12 mil...any interest? {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool but some from elsewhere.}

Ed do you know why they want rid

Thanks {Ed002's Note - He has not been playing well this season so they may well listen to offers.}}

O'neil at Sunderland was said to be interested in Mcgeady. I don't know if that was just a link or if it was truthful.

Made up where not interested not good enough at all.

Mcgeady IS good enough for lfc, hes what we need!

08 Apr 2012 16:25:57
i agree i cant see us getting soldado from what i no and be leave the 2 players we will end up with from spain are both from barca one is Keita and the other is Tello will have a buy back in his contract same as they did with the chel eds what u think {Ed002's Note - Keita makes no sense to me and probably sends the wrong message to the youngsters but I suspect if the offer is made he will take it. I know that Balague has said that Tello's contract is up this year but that is not my understanding and I very much expect that Barcelona will offer him a new deal. As for interest from Liverpool I don't know how serious it is but I understand the player has been watched. There is also some interest from Valencia and from Porto. There is a possibility of a loan to Valencia as part of another deal I am informed.}

Would that be jordi alba to barca Ed? {Ed002's Note - Right.}

Thanks ed i dont really wont keita myself he could do a job in are midfield for a year or so bit of experience and to teach the young ones but he wont help us that much we really need a good confident att mid with experience not to young but not to old to help

08 Apr 2012 16:53:21
Hi Eds,
Do you think that,if K.D leaves,and FSG appoints a new manager,will the new manager get rid of all the deadwoods?,
So can see squad overhaul in the summer.(Just like what K.D did last year).
The new boss will need to sign 7 or more players.

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - I have more respect than to refer to players as "deadwood". That seems to be a Liverpool thing and I have no idea who you mean.}

Gareth Bale 40m maybe

Ed 2 your a bell end {Ed002's Note - Sorry? It is not me referring to all of the Liverpool players as "deadwood".}

What deadwoods? poulsen, cole, maxi, aurelio, aquilani will all leave regardless.

I hear chelsea fans referring to their under-performing players as deadwood all the time, to say that's a "Liverpool thing" is pure ignorance.

I know it isn't just a liverpool thing but we should treat our players with more respect. {Ed002's Note - Try searching on "deadwood" - it is far more prevalent on the Liverpool page than elsewhere.}

08 Apr 2012 16:08:35
Eds, do you think liverpool will be interested in moussa sissoko in this upcoming window? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

08 Apr 2012 16:05:53
ed if liverpool offer the reported 25m euros for soldado would they turn it down or does valencia still need money.DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - They are not in any desparate need for money. But they may not wish to sell and he may not wish to leave.}

08 Apr 2012 16:00:41
Eds. Do you think Liverpool will make ANY remarkable signings this summer? I cannot imagine our club is that attractive after the players has made our club a laughing stock. I do not buy the Soldado/Munian story {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you would define as "remarkable". The return of Torres? Cavani? The entire Dagenham & Redbridge defence?}

I mean remarkable in this way: players who is set to improve the current squad, our starting 11. And not just to improve our youth or reserve team. Danieldenmark {Ed002's Note - Sure, I would expect that players will be bought to improve the squad/first XI.}

08 Apr 2012 15:53:35
ed are these players below the most likely to leave in the summer:

doni
jones
darby
johnson
wilson
aurelio
cole
aqualani
amoo
pacheco
eccleston
maxi
kuyt

DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - Plus Carroll and Suarez of course.}

Ed you cant be srious saying suarez OFCOURSE. bad sense of humour. it is more of a its likely

He/she is taking the mick, there is no way that many players are leaving, possibly upto 5, thats a maximum

All of those will go mate johnson a maybe.DORSET RED

Not sure about Wilson leaving, maybe on another loan. Other than that, I can see that.

08 Apr 2012 15:46:45
Hey ed, do u find the vargas to liverpool rumours credible?
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - I find them slightly odd in that I am not so sure that Liverpool would be looking to strengthen the left with a high profile player. Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. It is hard to see how he would be used on a regular basis unless either Downing or Enrique were to leave. However, it is possible and Fiorentina accept he will leave and the unsubstantiated suggestion is that thyey want Suso as part of any deal. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia. So I would add this to the "unlikely" pile for the time being.}

Would we get rid of suso? that would be stupid

Juan manual vargas could be the replacement for Fábio Aurélio. if so i can see 5-3-2 or even a 3-5-2 with johnson on the right side aggar ,Coates,Škrtel as centre backs . think that would be very intresting to see {Ed002's Note - I doubt he would be interested in replacing Aurelio and not playing at all.}

I know that one mid level member of staff in florence is of the opinion that fiorentina are reluctant to deal with liverpool at present due to a feeling that an spoken agreement between the two clubs was broken by lfc regarding aquilani,
i see the vargas rumour as unlikely

Nevada

If suso would be part of the deal for us getting vargas. i dont want vargas.

08 Apr 2012 15:39:26
why do liverpool fans think that muniain and soldado would actually choose liverpool over, lets be honest, countless other teams that will likely be interested if these players are actually up for sale?

Because Liverpool fans hope for the best. That's why they are Liverpool fans.

Suarez signed for us, although people said it couldn't be done and it wouldn't happen etc.

You should concentrate on your own team maybe?

Don't think it would be with options to buy Liverpool won't let Suso go that cheap unless we have a buy back option like barca does.

Suarez signed because he was moving up from ajax with a vast increase in wages. valencia are a far better team than liverpool (for the last three years at least) and athletic are certainly better this year and of course command a fierce loyalty from their players.

08 Apr 2012 15:16:30
is there any truth in the suso to fiorentina rumour on loan with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer?

Why would we? It has not even been confirmed about our vargas deal. {Ed002's Note - It is indeed speculative.}

Definitely b****cks

I hope its b****cks, suso is class

08 apr 2012 15:07:18
luis suarez set to call time on anfield if liverpool boss kenny dalglish gets sacked (dailystar) http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/244858/Luis-Suarez-set-to-call-time-on-Anfield-if-Liverpool-boss-Kenny-Dalglish-gets-sacked/

If it's in the star it must be real !!

08 Apr 2012 14:52:20
I know papiss cisse only moved to newcastle in jan but do you think lfc would have any interest in him. He has an average of a goal a game so far for the toon? {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Well as newcastle are better than us i really doubt it

08 Apr 2012 14:49:14
Jovanovic has told matias suarez not to move to liverpool because he was unhappy there? wtf is he doing?

Stopping him from ruining his career

Jovanovic should be greatful that someone payed the stonking wages he was on! Though he did turn down Real Madrid for us and look what happened... Maybe he's right to tell him

Like cole telling hazard to pick spurs over pool!

Just because he wasn't good enough & was let go...

Maybe jovanovic should have told him how bad of a striker he was , he did not even make our bench, before going on to tell him what he did. When Torres put all the goals he did it just proves if you know where the net is that is all that matters. He is just a pathetic loser.
hibsylfc

I didnt realise you personally trained with anderlecht

Totally agree with u

08 Apr 2012 14:24:30
eds any intrest in rossi? {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool. Giuseppe Rossi will leave Villareal in the summer and a move to Italy is most likely if he leaves Spain - with Napoli a very strong contender. Barcelona may be interested. }

08 Apr 2012 14:19:10
hey eds, i was wondering, becuase we are after soldado and munain does that mean dalglish's job is safe@? {Ed002's Note - I really don't see any connection, sorry.}

We need to. Array on buying good young hungry English and British players not reverting back to the years under Rafa

Because idiots truly believe that the manager is 100% the man that makes the transfers when its mostly the bored

08 Apr 2012 14:08:26
Hi eds last year Kenny was allowed to buy before having to trim the squad size/wage bill down if he's here come summer I expect that will change where as trim down before buying u think this will happen I just hope we don't miss out on buys why this is happening with how hard it will be moving the likes of kuyt Johnson with their high wages sorry if all this didnt make much sense

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Sometimes players need to take a pay cut when they move and sometimes the package agreede is not just salary. Kuyt will be looking for assurances over first team football.}

08 Apr 2012 13:48:55
hi eds ,has LFC ever shown any interest in Adam Lallana from Southampton .attacking midfielder Seen him play a few times and imo probably one of saints better players ,23 years old, skillfull ,lively,good shot .cheers ant {Ed002's Note - Not that I am awate.}

08 Apr 2012 13:42:33
Thanks for the info macca. Any info on the other 3 we are interested in? Either position or current league?
Thanks

08 Apr 2012 12:56:43
Hi Eds orMacca,
Our current squad is made of 30 players.(including some youth).
[we lack enough squad depht].
Macca said before,that we'll try and sign 5 players.
Knowing that perhaps(5 or more)may be heading out[Kuyt,Aurelio,Carroll,Doni,Maxi,etc...].
Do you think that we can replace those who are leaving and then sign the 5 predicted by Macca,
A proccess which can see the club holding a 35 players squad[enough squad depth IMO].

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Squads are limited to 25 plus those under 21. It is not going to happen that Liverpool just keep adding players and then never using them - that was the point of removing the likes of El Zhar, Degan etc. last summer.}

08 Apr 2012 12:42:27
do lfc have much interest in belhanda, is there any possibility we could sign him? cheers. {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Arsenal would be interested in Belhanda should he become available. Aside from that there is interest from PSG and unconfirmed interest from Inter and Roma. The player wishes a move to Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund.}

08 Apr 2012 12:36:30
Do we really want munian? hes expensive and immature no?

Your complaining about the (very small) possibility of Muniain after all the players we signed in the summer? Even having him as a target is worth celebrating. But in reality we'll probably spend about Ł16m on Matt Jarvis or something...

Expensive but I can guarantee his value easily could soar in years to come

Why is so immature when I watch him his work rate is crazy in addition and he refuses to go down

Jc {Ed002's Note - The "immature" statement will relate to a number of off field incidents that have made clubs think twice about signing him.}

Ben Arfa is apparently 'immature' and he's been fantastic this year, so I couldn't care less as long as the player is good.
Maybe we should take these risks.

Carroll has been immature and we signed him , as much as he's not good enough you can't tar everyone with the same brush

For that price we can get some one of pure class like jesus navis hes like Valencia but better much better an natural right winger that we have been missing with a beckham esk right foot him and downing patrolling the wings if carrol still fails to get goals hes the donkey people say he is liverpool will have the best left foot the best right foot an the best centre attacking mid with one of the best aerial players and one of the best defences an that should get us forth for sure {Ed002's Note - Navas will not be moving to England.}

Ed002 what makes you so sure sevilla has more then enough wingers and every man has there price (carrol) {Ed002's Note - Navas has issues that make a move less likely by his choice and less likely from a point of view of risk.}

08 Apr 2012 12:19:57
We really need to stop hoping we sign 30m + players and get our scouts off der a*ses and find some talent like newcastle and swansea have done. Ben arfa, tiote, Ba, cabaye and cisse for newcastle and sigurdsson for swansea have been exceptional signings for a fraction of what we pay. Jelavic too has done great for everton.

But if we do sign young talent we would deem them not good enough to play for first team an let them rot in reserves and if we do give them the chance the senior players will bitch an moan

I totally agree with the reply to this post. I'm sure if we had signed the players in question they too would have been slaughtered if they weren't instant success stories. Every indifferent performance would be greeted with calls of the club buying substandard footballers at cut price rates.

These players are better off gaining experience (and playing time) at less fashionable clubs rather than being thrust into the goldfish bowl of a top end club.

In fairness many clubs looked at Ben Arfa for a long period of time but were put off by his attitude problems. As well as that there many dissenting voices who claimed that Jelavic was never going to be good enough for LFC. It does show though that price does not always equate to quality and vice versa.

Bang on! While the cries are for KD to be fired, there is plenty of blame to be spread around...the first culprit being the scouting staff. KD doesn't make transfer decisions on his own.

LFC have done an absolutely PATHETIC job of picking talent and players that will fit in the context of this team. They have done the easiest and laziest thing: throw around wads of cash thinking that a big price tag AUTOMATICALLY equates to quality.

The whole staff needs to be replaced by scouts that actually do their job and are adept at assessing talent. How is it NFC can do it? How is it Man U do it year in and year out (not every one of their players were big names when they signed)? How is it Everton do it on their non-existent budget??

The biggest misconception is that to be competitive you have to spend ridiculous sums of money. LFC has sufficient resources and a valuable brand (although, it is taking a massive hit as each futile year goes by) to attract good, impactful players that can easily make us a top four club in the short-term. If done properly, the beauty of it is that you don't have to break the bank to do it...you just need a staff with a good eye for talent. Look at Arsenal.

The legacy of this management is Carroll, Henderson and Adam...lazy, thoughtless scouting in my eyes in which they took the easiest route possible.

None of the players you mentioned were hidden gems so i don't know what scouting has to do with it.

Martin

ThBest comment I've read to date. Scouts need to take some blame for the debacle Liverpool are in. Recruiting high priced under achieving hacks. Further comment, do the Ed's actually have anything meaningful to contribute other than saying refer to search engine or previous comments, what's the point of having Ed's feedback when all they do is post negative smart alec comments. Cheers {Ed005's Note - They're not negative, smart alec comments. The eds are faced with the same questions regarding the same players countless times every single day when it would be just as easy for someone to use the search engine and find the multiple answers about the players - otherwise why bother having a page, or a search engine? We get many an abuse aimed at us.}

Hi ed,

Mancini saying that a lot of clubs want Adebayor, could we maybe be in the running?

Or are the wages too high? {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool - and wherever he goes he will probably need to take a cut in wages.}

Wed take him on loan with subsidised wages if we fail to sign who we want, but woulnt wanna buy him

08 Apr 2012 11:53:24
Hi ed u no of any intrest in martin caceres he seems to have mature as a player in last couple of years since he left barca he seemed a bit shakey whilst he was there that may havw been due to his young age at the time I think he would be a good accusition to are defence you thought please ed

Other players I would hope we go for is

Gaitan
martinez
Alonso
Marin
Gamiero
sissoko
ellia maybe

And a couple are unlikely there just people I would like to see in the liverpool colours cheers eds {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Caceres right now.}

Hi ed do you think Liverpool would sell Downing in the upcoming transfer window?

Garth {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Aaaahhhhh.....dahm

Downing will come good next season, as Henderson will!
Carroll and Adam won't

Dont care whether he is good enough or not... he is our ONLY real winger. Why would you wanna sell him? Even if we get two more wingers you'd still want a spare.

True that, get some competition for the wing role, and some balance with an actual right winger and downing can succeed.

Downing is a great player and will defiantly be better next season

WE bought Downing cos he was an English player already in the Premier league so all this nonsense about giving him more time is absolute TOSH. Nothing he has done this season has shown he will be the player we hoped he would be. I'm just hoping he does well in the Euros so we can get back some of that huge fee we paid for him.

Downing is class you no nothing the only player we have with pace an creativity

Hey Eds,
Just a general question, do you think potential signings would be put off by our league position?
Or would they see the carling cup and maybe the f.a cup as more of an incentive to sign?
I know this is quite vague but i'm concerned players like soldado and munian won't sign because of how poor we've done.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - The cups will make zero difference.}

So you think they could be put off? {Ed002's Note - Not by winning cups - it'll make no difference.}

So ed do think neither would be interested in joining

Jc {Ed002's Note - This was answered yesterday - please read the posts.}

They clearly show we are still competitive

Will they be put off by our league position?

City got silver adabyaor and teves and komapany when they was in 14th so money is money no mater where its coming from so believe what you want but league position dont mean nothing its all about who pays the ransom i mean fee first and the highest wages

Hi Edds or Maca! Do you guys know anything about this Vargas deal? aparently we've pretty much signed him for 10 mil (bargin in my book)
Could you confirm anything?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia.}

Where your getting that info? Would be a really nice if true.

Has he got much pace? {Ed002's Note - I move as quickly as I can.}

I have heard Man Utd are sniffing around Andy Carroll.

Could be a deal in the offering with Berbatov going the other way, although I did also hear he wants to go to Germany.
Agent Talk

Lmao, you need to clean your ears out then if thats what you've 'heard'

Berbatov is out of contract

Yeh I've heard this too - SAF is going to use him as a coat stand in his office

That's about all he's useful for

Gav

Thats because he wants a mullet but management wont let him

So the situation is as follows.
1: We need to sell AC, take a loss and replace with a better player.
2: If KD is forced out, then we might lose Suarez (who stated he would want to leave if KK did).

I wonder if Mr Henry is having sleepless nights considering all this.

What a difficult situation the club is in.

Best solution, sell AC (if possible) as quickly as possible, replace with a striker or two to compliment Suarez, buy some attacking and defensive options, and hope it all works out.

I would like to see this quote regarding Suarez leaving if Kenny does.?

Yeah LS didnt say anything about the situation...some "kop insider" said it. honestly i could have said that BS and claim myself as a "kop insider"

Here is my Dream summer scenario ,

Sold:
Suarez £30 million (Sold to raise funds?)
Carroll £10 million if we're lucky
Aurelio £2 million
Kuyt £3 million
Cole £3 million
Downing £10 million
Adam £4 million
And others
Total approx £70 million
Ins:
Soldado £20 million
Munian £20 million we wont get him for £9 million which has been reported as our opening bid?
J.Martinez £20 million
Hoilett FREE
Honda £15 million or Kagawa £20 million
Afellay £9 million

Roughly £18 million NET spend?
Please bear in mind it says DREAM at the top!
whether they would want to join us, or are available for that sort of money?
I expect all of our business to be done early due to the Euros.
JamieMK

R u an idiot? How can u talk about selling suarez and a dream summer scenario in the same post? And martinez for 20 million? More like 35 million.
Indian Buzzer

I certainly hope that doesn't happen.. The strike force is rubbish replacing rubbish.

Aurelio would be free and You've missed Aquilani, his 6m are almost certain. And I don't think that you've got th eprices right for Ins mostly. YNWA
Martinez would cost atleast 30m and Muniain I think for more than 20. Not sure about Soldado's one as Valencia have got financial troubles but he'd be of interest to many teams. :) YNWA

Selling Suarez? i'm being realistic!
He is a great player, but i personally think he wil be sold, as a make weight for another player or a straight sale.
Jamiemk

Football manager, must be 12 years old on the xbox

Dream to sell Suarez...you are joke!

Really that's your DREAM i can think of alot better for my DREAM INS and OUTS think you should revise it lol

Man you have rubbish dreams!! My dream was Ronaldo and Messi buying out their own contracts and joined us on a 21,000 a year deal.

THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL A DREAM.

My dream has at least got a little bit of reality!
21.000 years is a bit too long they might get bored.
I'm going to continue playing my Fantasy Manager game on my PS3 (XBOX is for girls)
JamieMK

I think you should go back to sleep and keep dreaming. Sell Suarez? He's our best player.

Jamie you are a prrrrooopppa belend change team if you dont like the one we have

ynwa

So why would LFC sell Saurez. And 30 million. We paid 23m for him. So that makes sense selling a player for a mark up of just 7m....

You must live in a dream if you think anyone would pay 2 million for always injured aurelio {Ed002's Note - He will be out of contract this summer.}

Dreamer mate, we ain't a selling club for a start. Adam, carroll, or downing woin't be sold after one season. Why sell Carroll after one season ? Yes he ain't performing now but what if we bought a player that complimented his playing style and he started banging them in ? give him another season at least mate.

Andy Carroll, 23, is set to leave Liverpool this summer amid concerns that he has not adapted to 'the Liverpool way'.

an Anfield insider revealed: "Kenny has gone out of his way to protect Carroll from criticism. He's straight with his staff, but many people here are concerned that players like Andy have not adapted to the Liverpool way."

Carroll has told friends he'd welcome a return to Tyneside but his current wages would break Newcastle's pay scale and they would only be interested in a cut-price summer deal.

Players like Andy, so there will be more exits ?

We took a big hit on Aquaman (who is by far the better player) i expect we will do the same with DonkeyKong!
JamieMK
Thinking about it, was Heskey better?

I'll tell you this. I know people in Crosby who say he loves a good take-away scran. I've defended this lad and will continue to do so but he needs to stop 'marching' around and sort his head out. P.s I think he gave us a good goal threat when he came on yesterday.

DaveyBootle

I hope this is true. carroll is the worst buy in history. ive seen 2nd division players with better technique and ball control than him.

Still say Crouch would of been a much better, cheaper signing

Give the lad a chance, it ain't just carroll playing bad at the moment. it ain't a one man team is it ??

HI ED AND FELLOW RED SUFFERERS heard a strong rumour that we r trying to sign ricardo quaresma from besiktas.Also heard that liverpool are favurites for wilfried zaha and ola john from twente.When the owners took over we was supposed to be buying future players in the arsenal model but oh no we go and spend over a hundred million on crap and made the geordies richer than us in signing terms carroll downing henderson the worst players ever signed by our great club total s**t ......

You are either v young or have a v short memory if you think these are the worst players Liverpool have ever signed.

Im not so sure... biscan, vorrinin, pennant, mellor, camara... the list goes on and on and on. we've hardly showered ourselves in glory over the last 5 - 10 years signings wise. out side of alonso, mascarano and torres... we havnt had many signings u could compare to the likes of modric, cisse, cabaye, bale, valencia, jones, chicharito, dasilva twins, the list goes on forever

Another muppet that says there a liverpool fan then abuses them an sujest getting rid of our good players an putting in a rubish championship player because he has a pumped up rep and a over the hill Portuguese player who cant even get into the week Portugal international team he was good back in the day but so was beckham ... stop talking s**t an get behind your team ynwa

Been reading a few posts regarding Macca's names. Most people are happy about the names a few are not. Soldado and Muniain would be major investment at the minute and would really help us. Soldado should be what Carroll was supposed to be, a strong front man for Suarez to play off and hold the ball for our joining midfield players. Muniain would be one.of those joining players, he has been playing wing but can play upfront also, id say it signals the end for Kuyt, who id keep for his determined style of play.
Someone mentioned about Soldado not wanting to move because of us not being in champs league and essentially having better options where he is, we may have stumbled but we are Liverpool one of the biggest clubs in the world, and thats even if we dont win the FA cup. Its the same with Muniain, hes young and at a decent club, but will have the opportunity to ply his trade in the best league in the world.
Even if we go for these and end up with Matt Jarvis and the like, you cannot complain, we show ambition by aiming for these players, you have to respect that, but we cant simply not sign anyone should Muniain or Soldado not come or go elsewhere, and Jarvis or Phillips would be an acceptable back up.
I for one am very excited for the window. I expect Dalglish to step aside back to his ambassadorial role, which would mean that Muniain and Solgado are Comollis targets, and he has power in the transfer market, lokk at his.time with Spurs and Gunners.

Anfield Andy

Us being interested in them two name's and them actually signing are two different thing's!

Every year we fail to challenge for the title the more the clubs reputation as a titan of Europe is diminished. Young players have never witnessed a dominant Liverpool team and so are not drawn to the club like others have been in the past.

08 Apr 2012 09:04:03
not trying to sound negative...but we want sign soldado or muniain..it just want happen...maccas got you all were he wants you.hanging on to his every word.and when they dont sign u will slag him off...lets get behind team we have got.massive game on saturday lets give them bitter blues what for ......lfc y n w a

Macca found all the signings last year moran. And yes it might happen as they see we can't go nowhere with just so called potentials.

Cant spell but your a real fan

08 Apr 2012 08:48:57
Eds and Fellow Reds if Suarez was to leave, we would need to replace him with someone who CSM excite fans and go round players like him, Who would be that player and is a relistic signing?

Dano {Ed002's Note - We don't know who that player will be. I postualted Gaston Ramirez might be a sensible player to move for.}

No thank you. I would rather we keep Suarez.

Adam

Hi eds
Any interest in riise should of never sold the boy. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

He went proper crap to be fair - and he's been average this season

08 Apr 2012 06:26:57
I liked attitude of Roberto Macinci that i can be sacked any time soon. Neither of his signing failed. More he controlled a team which has hot head players like balloteli and gives a good lesson to TEVEZ. If he does not won pl title he will sacked. EDS Is there any intrest in him from liverpool?
YOUNG RED...... {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

My god hes a terrible manager. If i had the money hes had the league would of been rapped up in january and i would be spending every day rubbing whisky heads face in it!

Hi Eds,Grea work and great site.
I have two questions:
1.Jovanovic urged Matiás Suárez to snub an Anfield move,can this really stop him comming to us?
2.Are we interest in J.M.Vargas of Fiorentina?,and between him[Vargas]and Armero,which move do you think is more likely?.
Cheers. {Ed002's Note - (1) I have absolutely no idea. (2) Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia. As for Armero, I am not sure about talks with Liverpool just yet but certainly he expected to move in the summer - AC Milan were favourites.}

08 Apr 2012 02:25:35
eds don't know if you remember the story in jan that oezil fell out with mourinho and they were willing to sell in the summer... was there any truth in that...not saying we could get him just wanting to know if we would be seriously interested if it were to happen. {Ed002's Note - They have had some difficult times and I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.}

08 Apr 2012 01:42:31
Hi eds, I know there's all the talk about Soldado & Muniain..but how strong is the interest from Liverpool? ..and honestly, how long do you think it will be before KK "steps aside"?
Cheers! {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts. Try yesterday morning as a starting point.}

08 Apr 2012 01:37:50
Hi Eds,

Will Junior Hoillett be available on a free this summer? If so, I think he would be an excellent addition. He is pacy, tricky & young.

Also, I believe that Kalou will also be available on a free aswell.

I really think that if we got these two players, it would greatly add to the depth of the squad and would inject some much needed pace into the side. Also, both these players have Premier League experience and could really make a big impact in a game where we are struggling to get the "2nd goal" to finish off teams.

Your thoughts please?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool in either right now but both have expiring contracts.}

Then KK and DC are fools. They would rather go pay 20-40m on a player who is 18 years old with no prem experience. Hoilett is just as good as anybody at his age!

Thank goodness we haven't got any interest

Kalou. To selfish around goal to join lfc

08 Apr 2012 01:01:36
Any interest in Matias Suarez?

08 Apr 2012 00:26:20
Eds do you think an FA Cup success would strenghten our chances of getting Soldado and Muniain? Or would it even help for player transfers in general?
Or is it from less importancy for transfers? {Ed002's Note - It won't make any difference to transfers - Only to the Europa League as Liverpool can then skip the two qualifying rounds before the group stages - which is significant.}

I agree with you eds.
But wouldn't the two qualifying rounds offer a good oportunity for our youngsters to gain some first team football? {Ed001's Note - yes, but also the chance of not making it to the Europa League proper.}

'Former Liverpool midfielder Milan Jovanovic has urged Anderlecht team-mate Matias Suarez, 23, not to make the same mistake as him by moving to Anfield'

wtf jovanovic

Take this one with a very large pinch of salt, it's in the scum. They don't print stories of substance and they hate our club.

You know what they say. The curse of the ex player.

He is probably still bitter that he lost his big weekly pay check.

Wasn't HIS mistake it was OURS!

Not enough that he was crap for us now he's trying to stop us being good again, what a spambag
