Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, according to L'Equipe.

The French sports daily also says the player, 24, is set to undergo a medical at Melwood on Friday.

Believable10 Unbelievable4

At Melwood? Isn’t he flying out with the rest of the France squad tomo or Saturday.

08 Jun 2018 05:38:01
They are playing in France, specifically in Lyon on Saturday against the U. S. He is not going to be a starter for France at this time so if he leaves he will be okay.

08 Jun 2018 06:04:42
What Harry? So signing bench player for £50mil . that's shxt.

Agree0 Disagree13

08 Jun 2018 09:23:57
No, Firmino anf Coutinho for the longest time could not get into the Brazil squad. Coutinho was being pipped by Oscar for the longest time and Firmino is getting pipped by Jesus does not mean he is rubbish just the quality of the national team. Julian Brandt and Sule are not guaranteed to be starters for Germany, but teams would buy them for premium.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Jun 2018 09:29:09
That's not what he meant, clever clogs. Although I'm not sure how you know he won't start tomorrow night's game, Harry? If the transfer is completed today then I really hope he does start and absolutely obliterates a very poor USA side with a double hat-trick or sth.

Bought fabinho for 40m and he isn't an international squad player!

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2018 10:22:46
True Jammin, although this will be Fernandinho's last World Cup so Fabinho should be a squad mainstay pretty soon. Personally, i think it's a strange omission from Tite considering Fabinho's versatility. I mean, I know nothing of Renato Augusto, but playing in the Chinese 'Super' League tells me enough, and Fágner who!? I suppose every manager has their favorites, but there are certainly advantages of him not going to Russia for five weeks or however long it may be.

Don't usually post stuff that I find out but reading on here I'll share. My understanding is talks are still ongoing with Lyon nothing is close. However Liverpool are pushing for it also macca was right butland was house shopping but klopp felt he needs more experience in the sticks. So has changed his mind and his trying for Alison if Alison falls through my understanding is Jasper cillisen is second choice ( I know experience thing) just what I've been told from someone within the club. Don't shoot me over it haha also may I add this person who has told me has always been spot on with info thanks.

MELISSA REDDY reports

Liverpool are in the final stages of attempting to reach an agreement with Lyon for Nabil Fekir and are hopeful of concluding a deal in the region of £60 million by the end of this weekend.

What a way to start our weekend if this finnaly happens!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we shall see SLP, i dont think its a banker yet mate but he would be a decent option coming off the bench i feel mate..

07 Jun 2018 16:27:48
Would he want to be on the bench? and if he was would he sulk?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im sure questions about playing time would be part of the negotiation process cobra mate..

07 Jun 2018 16:34:32
He would be a good buy and probably the best squad player we can get currently. Baffled as to why some fans don't want him.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - he is talented east but i think we all know he has personality flaws, i dont see him as a regular starter but a very good option from the bench mate..

07 Jun 2018 17:08:55
Apparently we really look into the players personality for on and off the pitch. If he comes it’s because Klopp team believe he will fit.
After being a div at top clubs like Bayern which sees you end up at Stoke, some would see coming back to the top table as a last chance and behave. He’s older and wiser if expect.

Agree4 Disagree2

07 Jun 2018 17:16:22
He is decent back up for front 3 we could of done with him last month of season no disrespect too say lallana but he cudnt make an impact, also woodburn an Curtis jones too raw, we need a squad an he decent back up, can't understand the grumblings also it's decent money we could get him for, unless he is a wild child that causes mad trouble he's worth a punt.

Agree2 Disagree1

07 Jun 2018 17:43:41
Shaqiri is clearly an incredibly talented footballer. Big concerns over his personality and willingness to put the team before himself. However, I'm fully behind Klopp if he thinks he can get him working for the team.
Does seem a strange one though as Klopp often highlights how important the personality of a signing is each time we sign a new player.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jun 2018 17:58:37
Wasnt the Eve after him also Ed025?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we were linked with him KR but nothing came of it mate..

07 Jun 2018 18:28:13
Sorry Jurgen McFugen. does the word "balotelli" mean anything to you? given how Klopp refused to even give the guy a chance, I can't see him paying any amount to give Shaqiri one.

Agree2 Disagree1

07 Jun 2018 18:29:41
Hes awful.

Agree0 Disagree3

07 Jun 2018 18:34:22
He might have issues personality wise, but my Missus says I have, but I personally don't think she could have a better option from the bench!
Good squad option, I think we are going to mount a serious challenge next season with Fab, Fekir, Keira already in the bag.

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Jun 2018 19:11:26
Did Klopp sign Balotelli?

Good evening Ed001

Youve been quite today mate.

Do you no anything on the rumoured Shaqiri links mate please?

Believable2 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - no.}

07 Jun 2018 08:58:39
If the rumours on Shaqiri are true I think its a flip of a coin on being a good or bad signing.

Maybe he would flourish in a team of better quality and move forward. he has the potential and would be a good option for cover.

In the other hand he could be a fail and damage the dressing room.

Agree22 Disagree2

07 Jun 2018 10:24:53
He was at Bayern Munich and didn't flourish because he thought he was too good to be sitting on the pine. I doubt he would want to do the same now that he is at an age that he should be in his prime. (And it rhymes)
I don't think he's for us either way.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jun 2018 10:43:52
I’d rather put the money, wages, agents fees towards a top keeper or a CB.

I understand the club isn’t looking to buy a CB but for me, if VVD gets injured, we’re back to square one with Lovren Klavan and Matip. Our Achilles heel forca number of seasons.

Yes we have Fabhino to give more protection to the back 4 but set pieces and corners will still be a concern.

Just my opinion of course.

Agree5 Disagree5

07 Jun 2018 11:29:43
We can't keep saying if so and so is out we only have this and that. That's the same for every teat. If city lost Kdb it would have an effect. Can't have team of top players sittin in reserve just in case of injuries.

Agree6 Disagree3

07 Jun 2018 11:39:51
Are you for real? Tell me what top CB’s we have outside of VVD? Lovren, Matip and Klavan are all back up standard.

Why do i remember Shaqiri turning us down the year before he went to Stoke? If we weren't good enough for him then why should we rescue his career.

Agree8 Disagree0

07 Jun 2018 12:40:25
Whether the sherdan shaqiri rumour is true or not i feel for the price in todays market he's a potential bargain.
He has everything in his locker skill and ability wise, he just need guidance to stay focused and apply himself.
Pretty much what klopp has done with the OX and lots of people didn't want him signing.

Agree5 Disagree3

07 Jun 2018 12:59:05
There is quotes on the echo website from Shaqiri where he said he opted for Liverpool in 2014 but Bayern blocked the move.

I'd be very surprised if Klopp was interested in Shaqiri .
I really hope it's just rubbish paper talk.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2018 13:53:58
The negative reactions toward Shaqiri have been borderline insanity. Great talent at a great price. Huge upgrade over Ings in terms of fit and ability, and give us much needed depth that can score from the wings. Klopp has zero time for bad personalities, so if he's good to go with him then I'm excited. Some of you guys are being way too hard on a guy who occasionally struggled at Stoke. That club had a lot of dysfunction during his time there, and he seemed to mostly soldier on. Nobody is perfect. Give the guy a chance. He can be great for us.

Agree9 Disagree3

07 Jun 2018 14:20:56
This is Ed001 opinion of Shaqiri which he gave in April this year. I think he manages to express his opinion of the player well enough not to leave any doubt where he stands on him.

{Ed001's Note - he won't come off the bench. You aren't reading what I said. He is an arrogant arse who thinks he is too good to sit on a bench, even though he is not that good. Certainly not even half the player he thinks he is. }

I would say his potential price of 12mil+ that is being rumored makes an easy decision not to buy him more difficult.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jun 2018 14:47:10
Shaquiri seems to be cheap paper talk from lazy journos copying each others "exclusives" if he comes here I am moving to the Stoke page.
