Been told we equired about Llorente last week. Dunno if we are following it up. This is genuine. Can the eds confirm this?

I can confirm we never.

Your actually spot on, we did enquire after Llorente's availability, but then we signed Carroll... nice try though...

So we look to sell one big unit to allow us to play passing pressing football and swap him for another big unit granted slightly more talented but ridiculous rumour, person

Llorente put in a transfer request

I know its late but just had a phone call off a friend who works at liverpool fc n he assures me the allen deal will be concluded tomorrow! Has anyone else given you this information eds or do you know of this! I believe this will start the avalanch of ins n outs! Let the signings commence!
HARDY1892 YNWA

Theres a new rumour started everyday regarding the signing of Joe Allen. I believe it will most likely happen but I doubt it will be tomorrow. We have heard this phrase so many times during the window with different targets so thats why cant believe anything until its official. Would love it to happen tho. Good addition to the squad. We should also get rid of Spearing who I think is absolutely useless.

Also 2 loanees in by friday! Happy days!
HARDY1892 YNWA

It's all over twitter - coincidence?

Why do you want an averlanche of in and outs , all that does is destabilise the club like last you person

Allen will sign Thursday, before the Gomel match.

I hate to burst everyones bubble, but suarez's "re-sign" is just a ploy to up his price, FSG have already told BR that every player has his price and if those valuations are met then they will be accepted, then it will be down to the player to decide whether he stays or goes (its called business) From what I'm told the following prices are what FSG will accept - Adam - 6m, Downing - 8m, Agger/skrtel/Carroll - 20m, Reina/Suarez - 25m. Expect offers for Agger/Suarez and Reina on the tail end of the window. Interest in Dempsey is all but gone unless they accept a part-ex including adam, talks are ongoing with ramirez however it looks likely his head will be turned by citys £s. Expect arrivals of 4 players before the EOW, depending on leaves these will be GK/CB/winger/playmaker. cant "confirm" any as NOBODY knows for certain yet.

TDH.

What! 25 million for Suarez, he cost just under that when we bought him. Apart from the obvious couple of incidents his stock has risen hugely since then, besides he already has 4 years left in his contract that is as much an insurance policy you'd need if a bidder come in.
His price is more like £35 million mate.

He's staying and has declared his love for our club today so that'll do me.

Its an awful ploy then, as you've just made any potential buyer match much higher wages. Silly to think of Suarez re-signing a raised wage contract as a ploy to up his price. Actually not silly, plain stupid. I can believe the others have a price where FSG would want to look at it but I don't believe you know what those figures are based on your up front waffle in regards to Suarez.

You Should be writing for the s*n mate!

Why on earth would we let Suarez go for only £25m? We payed £20m for him and he's shown he is world class since.

I don't see suarez leaving now, any team that was to come in would have to put in a massive bid and i think that would put them all off.

I think the valuations are a little low, downing worth more than 8m and suarez/reina worth more than 25m. Considering it would be hard to find a replacement for world class striker/goalkeeper they should be valued at at least 30m.

Im glad you know the exact price FSG values our players. I'm sure they have the football knowledge to be able to give exact prices on football players.

Did you read what Suarez / Rodgers openly told the press about the new contract. I think he's here for next season at least.

What do you mean 'every player has his price'. What sort of owners are FSG if this is the case. Are they not bothered about the team. How can you keep your best players if this is their policy. They would be no better than Hicks and Gillett.

" From what Im told " - best quote on here for ages. Don't suppose it was one those Leprechauns on your shoulder was it?
Downing 8m - now that's funny.
Reina - 25m ( on current form 5 times over his value )
Saurez - new contract - at least 10m under his value.
And the comment " Nobody knows for certain yet ", but you know for certain the players mentioned will be leaving.

Entertaining post - if hallucinations are your thing.

John B

Bloody hell mate - relax. I don't think there's any conspiracy from FSG. Can't you just be pleased he's signed and be patient regarding transfers in? Try to support the club and not undermine the good news we're getting.
Matty B

Another negative minded 'fan' with their pointless input and made up figures. Luis Suarez has signed a long term contract at the club because he is central to Rodger's plans, not to inflate his price. Also to say he's worth £25m on a new contract would indicate to me you have no idea what you are talking about.

News on an inbound transfer before the end of this week, Im told its definitely Allen.

Thanks, Tom.

25 mil for Suarez!? Are you mental? That def ain't what you call "business"

So fsg want to make profit from players but we would accept 25 million for suarez...hmmm ok.

We got Suarez for 23m we wont sell for £25m more like 30m+.

I like Suarez you can say what you want about him but someone of his ability signing a new contract before Skrtel and Agger.

Suarez is staying i know your a scared manc fan

25m asking price for suarez? haha brilliant! clueless lad!

Patently ridiculous.
Making a big deal with lots of fanfare out of Suarez signing a new deal and then selling him would be the PERFECT way for FSG to lose all confidence from the fans. They would need to sell him at a price that would allow them to buy a couple of world class players to make up for that - and that won't happen. 25 mill is absurd.
Good players may be sold if the money is right, but Suarez is too popular with the fans for it to make sense - excactly BECAUSE it's a business. Losing Suarez would make too many fans lose belief, and the belief and trust of fans is where the money ultimately is.

Thank you for your insight but no thanks.

I'm also not trying to be too optimistic. But why would extending what was already 4 years to run on a contract, up his price, its not like rvp where he has one year left. He had 4 so I don't see the logic in that.

NOBODY knows for certain? - Yet you know for certain how much the club would accept for those particular players?! b*******!

If Suarez has just signed a new long term deal, to buy him out of the contract will cost a lot more than £25million... Try £100million mate

Suares signed for 22.5 FSG would want more of a return than 2.5 million he is worth more then 25mil

Them prices, and the idea that FSG would put price stickers on Liverpool players, is a joke surely!

RedDen

TDH I wasn't aware you were at any meeting between FSG and BR. Must be great having the ear of the owners. Pity your info is pure drivel. How the hell do you know what prices we would accept for any of our players ? You're in dreamland buddy.

KBL

Every single valuation is wrong apart from perhaps Skrtel

So it is a ploy to up the price of Suarez ? FSG will accept 25 mill for Suarez ? So previously they would have accepted 15-20 mill right about 5 mill less than what they paid ?
You person . Get over it he is a lfc player

Absolute bullocks

If thats business then thats bad business n your certainly no business man buying players then blowing half the money on resales where would we find another squarez for under 25 m then we buy more players n sell them for half the price yeh sure we would soon be in the red fool

This is easily to most rediculous thing ive ever read!! why on earth would a team whos owners have said time and time again that they want league success... sell all of their best players ? In business terms as youve put it ....its suicide!!

You're absolutely right about it being all about finances, but it's wages not resale price that's the issue.

This re-sign is all about upping Suarez's wages from around £35k p/w to £100k p/w. I think you'll find that he's gone from being 4.5 years remaining on his £35k contract to back up to 5 years remaining on £100k.

It basically just reaffirms the club's position on him and his with the club.
That said, if Juve, Barca or any other team come in and offer £35m+ he could well be sold but it won't happen this year. Similarly, if LFC bomb again this season and end up 8th, Suarez might just think sod it and try to get a move away.

Mate, glad you mentioned bubbles, cos that's what you're chattin. Does TDH stand for Total D*** Head.

Come on! Please stop posting rubbish!
Why would FSG offer him higher wages if they plan to sell him? He was already tied to Liverpool until 2016 so there was really no incentive for FSG to improve his salary if they all along were looking to sell him. Your post is pure NON-SENSE mate...

Considering the fact that we will have paid him and his agent some where in the region of about 2-3 million in total in signing fees, agents fees and more, it would have to bump the price a lot more than that to be considered good business. If that was the plan, then we are looking for probably another 5-10 mil on top of the figure you mentioned, and I doubt juve would pay that much.

RedJace

What an utter load of sh*te. 25m for Suarez. Go join a circus Corkey.

Lol. You don't believe a word of it yourself.

2/10. Troll harder, bro.

- Something Red -

TDH - Total D!ck Head

Some ppl should start supporting another team because the negativity from this poster is unbelievable... A star player signs a new 5 year contract and says how much he is loving life at LFC n this guy just wants to run a conspiracy theory... Boring..........

Cant handle posts like this anymore pure BS

Why on earth would we bother though unless the main goal was to placate the player and ensure he stays at the club. It's merely a reward for his performances.

If we were willing to sell him for £40m last week, what would be the difference if we wanted to sell him for £40m this week? None? Except the player is better paid and more likely to stay.

This post is so r*****ed pot stirring nonsense, this 'ploy' as you call it may be a few conditions inserted into his contract to try and protect his value if we want to sell or he wants to leave.

And MESSI is worth £30m

Get a grip mate, post something near real
some people post some next things on this site
but your latest post is some next level

You qoute "from what Iv'e been told"....Please mate your having a lend of yourself!!
Go get a bottle of milk off mum and sit in the corner
Ozdave

The one bit of sense in the original post is that every player has their price - and that still does not take in to account the players wishes.

You sir, are an person.

If you are a car salesman can you sell me a brand new 5 Series BMW for 10k? That how accurate your valuation for Luis is! He is staying.

It's not an unreasonable speculation about Suarez.

Signing a new contract will definitely jack up Suarez's transfer fee. The question is: Will Suarez leave in this window? No, definitely not. Is this a preparation for future transfer window? Could be. If the money from Suarez's sale can bring in another couple of world-class player, why not?

I think you've been reading to much of the sun mate

It's just business? Mate you are too much! All this post shows is that you know nothing about football or "business". When you take into account Suarez wages since we signed him £25mil is a loss as are all your other valuations bar agger/reina. Sice you're so clued up any idea how much they are prepared to let the janitor or dinner lady go for if a club put money on the table?

Why would they get Suarez to sign a contract to up his value to 25m when he was already worth at least that?? Seriously....come on ffs!!!

So lets get this right. we buy him for 23 million he gets a 10% signing on fee. so if im right thats 2.3 million. then there is his wages in the last 18 months which is prob 4 million. so we sell him for less than our outlay class

Seems as you know everyone's shelf value, do you know if we're offering any 'buy one, get one free' players? Or are there any that come with a free jar of Dolmio?

Get Real guys this is Business
Suarez & the rest of the team except Cara & Stevie G are up for sale
FSG fire sale on the go now,
They want to recoup their money, now their mates at Standard Charter are in the Poo they will follow

God help us now!

Ur off ur head dude, £25million for El Pist or Reina? £8million for Downing? Wise up

Suarez (new contract n all) £40million (if Torres was worth £50mill mwa)

Downing £15million

Reina maybe £25million, id say £30mill tbh JFT96 YNWA

TDH
This has to be as sad a post as I have read on here. It makes complete financial sense to give Suarez a massive payrise on a new contract and then sell him for a transfer gain of £2.5million. Oh and incidentally, if Suarez doesn't ask for the move FSG will have to give him an astronomical payoff which will dwarf the net transfer profit.

07 Aug 2012 21:41:59
Ed, Have Liverpool ever taken a look at the young French player at Real Sociedad Antoine Griezmann? Caught a couple Sociedad games last year and was always impressed.

Ryan Whittington & his cat {Ed001's Note - yes, there was interest in the past in him, not sure if we still maintain the interest though.}

07 Aug 2012 21:13:48
Interest in Dempsey has cooled off, whilst the signing of Joe Allen is imminent. Liverpool have also been looking at Adam Johnson, as it seems Man City will accept a bid of £15 million for the attacker.
Unfortunately, the sources I have do not have any information on Daniel Agger, Craig Bellamy, or Andy Carroll. Will post again, as soon as I know anymore,

Thanks,
RetroGuy33,

Adam Johnson at 15 million, that is seriously taking the p**s, City benchwarmer since signing from Middlesborough for 7 million.

John B

30m+ for Allen and Johnson? I'll take Higuain thanks

Liverpool have no interest in Adam Johnson.

In all fairness, I think Johnson at 15 million would be a good buy. A winger who likes to attack is something the side desperately needs at the moment.

RetroGuy 33,

If they think he's worth £15mil, then Agger is easily worth 30. Maybe we should point that out in any negotiations we have with them.

I'll repeat. Liverpool have NO INTEREST in Adam Johnson.

AJ seems more content with Man C's money than playing on the pitch. He is a talented but Mancini doesn't see him as regular starter and he seems content with the situation.

07 Aug 2012 19:14:56
Agger does not want to join City so fingers crossed that will not happen and he will stay..

Tello is a loan target..

Sahin is also a target, it will be a straight fight with Arsenal.

Demsey is on going with Adam used as a makeweight, could drag on..

Allen will sign (i personally think he will be a great player.)

Carroll has gone quiet and could possibly be subject of a last minute bid from Newcastle..

Walcott is a target..

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Macca
{Ed033's Note - confirmed as the real Macca

Macca just wonder do we have to sell before we can buy and will and if these deals were to come off be done before next weekend cheers mate appreciate yr contribution

Kopman

Best post i've read, ever!
fingers crossed for tello and sahin. those two in the side would make me jizz in my pants! allen and walcott too!

thanks for making my day.

we hope for the best

ynwa!

Good news overall.

with Suarez signing a new contract, can the rumours me laid to rest about him possibly leaving? I believe he said he's happy at Liverpool.

thanks

joet

Pretty happy with that.

I feel better after seeing Macca's latest post I must admit. If we can keep hold of Agger, loan Tello or Sahin as well as signing Allen (who I think will be class too) and Dempsey maybe Walcott too then we'll be ok. Hope it's true that Suarez has signed a new contract. YNWA
Manxred

Thanx Macca 4 the info... Hope we sign a striker too! :) In BR we trust

Eds what are our chances of Sahin if, like Macca said, it's a straight fight between us and Arsenal. Cheers, Fran. {Ed023's Note - Straight fight I would assume 50-50? I'm just guessing so not to sure}

Macca is the quaresma deal true as I'm a big fan of his I've had most of his kits since I was a kid!

So if Macca is right. I think we're starting to look very strong wif we get these targets. Macca also saying that Allen could be a great sining which i'd fully agree with, but we could still do with that one BIG impact player. I think Dempsey could be the man if we can get him. {Ed023's Note - Suarez?}

Macca, was just wondering if tello or sahin were the major star loan? Would be delighted with either of them signing however :D
Thanks

Macca, cheers for the update.
do u think if barca make a move for agger he wouldnt be able to resist? i hope he stays but cant help but think that a 20 million sale could realy boost our transfer kitty and spent wisely on two more players too boost the squad. iam a big fan of kelly and knowing hes originally a centre half i think given the chance would be cracking. Also do u think walcott, if it happens would be a good buy, i cant make my mind up about him, hes so inconsistent.
cheers
harry h

Hope so mate, keep them coming :)

Who is the major signing is it tello, Walcott or sahin please?

All sounds good to me. Either way i think we'll get Walcott or Sahin.
Any news on Carroll? I really hope he stays.

Why go for Sahin if we are getting Allen ain't we got enough central midfielders?
TT

Both Tello and Sahin would be a massive coupe for BR.

If we signed all those targets and kept agger and carroll, i for one would be very happy

If all the above was to happen by the end of the month then I would be very happy.

When you say sahin is a target do you mean for a loan or for a permanent transfer? thanks as always for the information.

Any truth to the rumour that we might get Quaresma? even any interest?

Where does this leave us in terms of ramirez and vargas? also do we really need sahin AND allen? the way i see it with gerrard and lucas theres only one space at cm, neither of those players would be happy with sub appearances surely? {Ed023's Note - Squad game}

Can anyone work out why we would get Tello on loan with only 12 months to go on his contract? A month or so ago it was reported that they would sell him for around 7 mil. Seems strange to me.
Red sheep.

So where is the major star on loan?

Glad to hear that. hope we sign Sahin, Dempsey, Allen and Walcott. Not sure bout Tello though

Savior

So Maxi, Kuyt, Aquilani, Bellamy at least out.
Leaving possibly
Strikers- Carrol, Borrini, Suarez, Tello
Wing- Downing, Walcot, Dempsey
Midfield- Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Allen, Sahin, Adam, Shelvey
Defence- No change hopefully

Suso, Sterling, Coady, Morgan and a few others loans or match time.

I think, Shelvey could go on loan from that, Joe cole may be sold and Adam's place looks under threat.
Let's hope we negotiate good loan deals though.
Does'nt look to bad that, got pace and a varied attack, and the midfield are all good on the ball. Lets hope it comes off as the team looks balanced for a long time in while.
RNred

Great news I'd be happy with that if it happens. Cheers.
The hat.

I know that things aren't set and subject to changes but if this actually happens, it will make for one heck of a team!

Best bit of information yet! Greatly appreciated!

Surely Tello is not the major star signing on loan?

I've posted before, but the last one I did was not. Ryan Dempsey (his brother) who lives in Dallas, TX but often visits Nagadoches (where Dempsey played ball) has always said "That other team wants more money and not that one guy with low money." If this keeps going, I don't see him coming.

If agger doesn't leave(which I hope loyalty is what this club is all about) will we have the funds for these moves if nothing happens with Carroll? Appreciate you posting when you can mate, can't be easy for you.

07 Aug 2012 22:37:29
Thanks Macca - always nice to get some informative news!

Do you have any idea on timeframes with some / any of these? With only two weeks left until the season starts I think most supporters are like me and starting to get very anxious!

07 Aug 2012 22:37:43
Good to know Agger wants to stay.
Cheers for the info Macca,
Skurks

07 Aug 2012 22:38:00
Thats great news Macca! Thanks for the update - always look forward to you posting. Cheers

07 Aug 2012 22:38:17
Thanks Macca, i would be happy with all but Dempsey. I do think that Sahin and Allen might be over kill unless we sell a few CM's. I really want tello.

07 Aug 2012 22:39:23
Tello only has one year left on his contract Macca mate. The only way it would be loan if he signs a new contract at Barca, then we get him on loan.

Reoprts were he didn't even get a squad number for this season. Hopefully the reason is, he's en'route to us.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

07 Aug 2012 22:39:50
cheers Macca. Sounds like great news. hopefully the backbone of the team will stay together with Pepe Agger Skrtel Gerrard and co and add a few to it.

Marc

Agger.....what a legend!

I wonder if those were the two "Star" loan signings....okay but not stars...

Will we still reinvest if Carroll does go?

Would be amazing if we could get tello sahin allen walcott and adam johnson. Meanwhile so would tieing down agger to a contract, I hope Juve are crying in the corner and looking at the buy-out clause Liverpool have placed in Suarez's contract haha

Well done Brendan Rodgers. There is some real quality players there. Sahin is the player finally to replace xabi alonso as he can control a game. Tello is a fantastic young player and has serious pace which is what we lack. He has a lot of potential and could be the player to replace the outgoing Bellamy (who I would love to keep). I didn't rate Walcott but he has a year to run on his contract and has bags of pace. He was always a regular at arsenal. Allen is a good player but if we get sahin I'm not sure we need him but if he signs it is the end of spearing and Adam. Dempsey wouldn't be a target for me but if we could offer cole or Adam as part of the deal then great. In addition he scored 23 goals last season and is fairly cheap so I shouldn't complain.

Finally and more importantly than any signing BR has convinced Suarez to stay plus Agger doesn't want to leave.

To think I was calling for BRs head last night and calling him an person. For that I am one impatient shallow person!

I would also like to say well done FSG as there must be money to spend.

A now optimistic fan.

Agger is such a legend - Real class act that fella

07 Aug 2012 22:59:48
Hope your right about agger though! But does agger not leavin stop us signing the other players you speak about as we clearly have no funds without his sale?

07 Aug 2012 23:00:07
a lotof detail there that clears up alot for us Liverpool fans. I imagine Tello and Sahin could be loans with the options to buy?

07 Aug 2012 23:01:00
Cheers for info Macca
Personally very excited if we can get these targets, with these and our current squad feel we could really start to climb back to where we should be. No matter who we sign time we all got behind our team buckle up
And enjoy the ride

07 Aug 2012 23:01:19
thx for the info again Macca i would be made up with most of that i would prefer carroll to stay but would love tello and think allen would be great for us

07 Aug 2012 23:01:42
If Agger do say no to Citeh, he's gonna be a living legend.
Agger is class, totaly believeble rumour Macca. Happy times.
Cheers

07 Aug 2012 23:03:20
Thanks Macca fingers crossed for Sahin think he is a great talent and i agree Allen will be a great player for Liverpool. up the pool

Cheers for the info Macca mate, always appreciated! Do you know if there is genuine interest in Ricardo Quaresma? Cheers mate, Scouserseb

07 Aug 2012 23:04:15
I really hope that Agger stays, in fact happy with the back five, we need to carry that stability into next season and work on our attacking play. Thanks Macca.

07 Aug 2012 23:04:47
Awesome post Macca maybe this will shut the doubters up Agger to stay Suarez to STAY dempsey allen maybe tello or sahin and another 2 -3 players in top 4 not a problem champions league here we come! now stop moaning all you so called LFC fans and have faith, Macca you are a legend!
ajh316

07 Aug 2012 23:05:38
If we could land all of these deals then we could really look forward to the start of the season. The only downside would be keeping everyone happy with gametime - especially 2 loan signings. Having said that our squad would be seriously strengthened and that would bode well for the future.

07 Aug 2012 23:06:13
So no out and out striker then. Would love us to get Tello and Walcott to provide pace down the flanks. Can't see Sahin coming as the goons can offer him CL footy. Don't mind Dempsey especially if it gets rid of Adam. Great that the DAgger. Wants to stay. With Suarez signing a new contract too let's just hope Macca gets these spot on. YNWA

07 Aug 2012 23:07:39
does Macca know anything regarding Ramirez? Is he a target? Thanks

If we get tello on a season long lone with 1 year left on his contract we could get him for a free in a year instead of 7 mill now. Just a thought
Andrew

07 Aug 2012 23:16:19
Ty Macca, D'you know was the Agger thing just a case that City made an offer too good to refuse so the club listened, rather than the player wanting to leave or the club wanting rid? Cos that's what it looks like out here.

Thanks Macca, as ever you give an excellent insight. Hope we get all the players you mentioned. Hope we sign em soon, as its doing my head in. Good job, both Macca and the eds. well done

What the hell does that statement from Dempsey's brother ( ??) mean, complete nonsense by the sound of it.

07 Aug 2012 23:23:58
do you know by any chance if Sahin is a loan or permanent target? Josh

I would be made up if all of Macca's info come through. Tello and Sahin, I only really know reputaionally, Allen I really like, Walcott is dangerous if not erratic in end quality but would add a new dimension. Carroll I am not convinced of one way or the other. The potential is there but I question his agility which is needed in this system. Dempsey is quality. Would love Agger to stay but understand if things change. Cheers as always Macca

07 Aug 2012 23:31:45
Thanks Macca. Would be great if even half of this came true. Sahin would be a dream signing, even if on a one-season loan. Really appreciate the updates, and indeed, fingers crossed on agger staying put.

Thank you Macca for all the information uou give us. I hope you know how much we appreciate it and speaking for myself, yours is the only information I wholeheartedly trust. As well as the Eds of course. Thanks again mate and please keep it up. Jaffer 81

Great up date Macca. People r panicking about fsg cutting players but it's all part of the a great plan. Would be great signing those players

07 Aug 2012 23:09:42
Cheers Macca, fingers crossed on all this. Cheers again for all your info

Thanks Macca great as always keep those updates coming

Cheers again Macca.
Sahin, Tello, Dempsey, Allen & Walcott.
I would be chuffed.
Especially if Agger stays, would also like to see AC stay.
Get rid of Adam and spearing.
And that would be a brilliant summers business.
Pug

Allen and Sahin, I doubt it.

I for one would be happy to get tello on loan, very talented player

In response to a previous poster - if we get sahin I would expect quite a few pool fans jizzing in their pants lol

Walcott i think would give us assists and goals

Allen looks bang tidy with the ball

and Dempsey would be a nice squad addition

Just hope we can do these deals without the agger money

Would rather sell carroll

Good summer if it turns out that way. Cheers Macca.

Thanks Macca for all your useful information.
Here's my take on our transfer dealings so far: Aquilani - ridiculous he could have really worked here tell him he's not allowed to leave and then he'd have to try and fit in (i accept this isn't morally correct plus his wages were an issue but he signed a contract that he should have been committed to)
Sahin: Would be great but we won't get him, why would he choose us when he could choose a team that are on the up in Arsenal lets face it they're finally prepared to cough up some cash after the RVP scare they also have the minor bonus of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Walcott: Slight chance he'd want to come to us as he supports Liverpool or his dad does or something, and yes he has pace and got a lot of assists and a few goals last year but I just don't rate him highly enough for our club it's as simple as that
Dempsey:much the same as Walcott is a very talented player but a Liverpool player? Me thinks not.
Carroll: Has been treated appallingly he was unplayable both at the end of last season and in the Euros why put him through such a torrid time when it's clear he will if not already has come good?! Honestly even a blind man could see how quality the lad is don't dismiss an asset like that it's not only damaging to the player but an insult to the fans who deserve a player of his calibre at this football club (Yes you can point out his 4 goals all you like but I will just point out all the goals he's about to score this season!)

One player I'd like us to look at is Adam Johnson he is a quality winger something we've been lacking for what seems like decades now, he isn't being given a fair go at city is still young and British 15m is a bargain !

Oh and Joe Allen slightly better than JH but is Jordan Henderson Mark 2 mark my words

Some great targets there.. obviously we won't sign them all. I expect Walcott to stay at Arsenal why we will no doubt face serious competition for Tello and Sahin. Also, Tello could be loaned to us for a season and then he would be a free agent, obviously you would think they would want a fee but it is an option they could just let him become a free agent. Allen and Dempsey will sign. Spearing and Cole on the way out. Carroll gone and hopefully Agger will stay.
The Gooch
The Gooch

I'm maid up but have been guessing that that is sort of the players we want. besides your sahin intel.
work with what players you have.

.............Suarez............
......Sahin.............Walcott
............Gerrard............
........Allen...Lucas........
Jose, Agger, Skrtel, Glen
.............Reina.............

jones, kelly, coates, henderson, dempsey, tello/downing, borini

So who are the "star" loan signings going to be? Tello is not a star. Sahin can't get into the Madrid team, Walcott can't get into the arsenal team. A load of cast offs.... Only jokin I'd love sahin and Walcott could do serious damage but only if we kept agger.

When you say sahin is also a target, do you mean also a loan target or a target to buy {Ed049's Note - loan target.}

Suarez Borini/Dempsey Tello/Walcott
Allen/Sahin Lucas Gerrard
Enrique Agger Skrtel/new-cb Johnson
Reina

Would be quality and we would have 4 high quality cm and forwards which would allow for rotation and injury though I don't who'd I pick if all were fit but that can't be a bad thing.

I would be really happy with all of that coupled with luis new contract.

ri red

Don't get too excited about Tello, just because he plays for Barcelona doesn't mean he's the dogs b*******. They wouldn't let him go if he is such a good player.

Obviously youve never seen him play. Good job they didnt let Fabregas, Pique and Pepe Reina go because we all know how they turned out...

And if its a loan deal its to give him experience. He wont play week in week out with Villa Sanchez Affelay Messi and Fabregas to contend with.

Bread

Would be happy with that and AC staying

08 Aug 2012 11:09:56
Thank you Macca for your invaluable info, actually after seeing the targets we are after I really think BR is good.

08 Aug 2012 11:10:42
Brilliant news today with El pistolero signing a new contract hopefully more will follow with the signing of joe Allen who I think is a class midfielder and would fit in perfect at Liverpool, anyway just wondering what the situation is with Leandro damiao is he of interest by any of the top teams on Europe would love to see him in a Liverpool shirt we can all dream I suppose.

P.s Great work eds and love hearing from Macca

P.p.s I think agger will leave to Barcelona with tello or affeley coming the other way in a loan deal to fill the right side. {Ed002's Note - Damiao is of interest to Spurs and Inter Milan right now. I rather expect there will be further interest shown in him very soon.}

08 Aug 2012 11:11:59
You are a pure legend Macca, you have made my day with that comment, Was really s******* myself with worry this morning about my beloved liverpool. Then Macca comes with the post of the day. LEGEND.

08 Aug 2012 11:12:36
cheers Macca just hope agger doesnt get tempted by barca. eds do you really think sahin would come to us over arsenal? champ lge etc....would love to get tello over ramirez or theo... {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. He has been angling for a move to AC Milan who are being cautious in the market or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich). A move to Besiktas has been rejected although Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey. There is confirmed interest from Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan.}

08 Aug 2012 12:36:10
Great news Macca
I for one woud be glad with all those moves if they were to be finalised. All of you saying that getting sahin and allen would overcrowd us in midfield, dont forget that most probably we will have players i.e. adam, spearing etc who can leave at any time. As well as that remember that lucas was out for more than half the season and gerrard was getting injured every other game and we had to bring shelvey back from loan to cover..hopefully thats not the case this year but better be safe than sorry

Thanks for the info...

08 Aug 2012 13:21:45
Cheers Macca - was getting a bit gloomy there for a second but hopes rising now. Hope most of this comes off. Good also to see that so many fans have responded to AC's positive attitude and see his potential. I couldn't possibly speak for everyone but I hope he stays and that he is aware that so many fans have faith in him - don't think he's had much positive input lately!

liverpool are going to sign pedro on loan from barcelona with view to him signing next year if things work out and he settles in the area

Out of all the loans mentioned this is one I think would be worthy and very exciting

Grimsby red

Can people give up with this pedro rumour, it will never happen.
FowlerGod.

He's such an enormous douche though, second only to busquets... who he sorta looks like.

I generally get worried when Barca let players go, they're usually great at getting rid of people as soon as they start to decline.

Like to see him in Liverpool

I like pedro because in the world cup final, he didn't pass to Torres. Hehe

07 Aug 2012 20:12:41
hi ed . i work in tesco i can't give his name out. he is one of the youngsters who
plays in goal as -18as he told me walcott has three days to decide whether to come to us

Errrr you work in Tesco? II used to work for Br Gas.Do you mean the mystery player came into your branch and told you this? "That will be £11.47 please oh and thanks for telling me all about Walcott!"

The Plank

Yes because an u18 GK would definitely be consulted about transfers.. Great rumour

You can just imagine the look on the under-18's goalkeepers face when Brendan Rodgers sidled up to him in training and said quietly 'erm, guess what, I've been in touch with Arsenal, and I've told Theo to let me know if he wants to join by Friday. Keep schtum, and whatever you do don't go telling that mate of yours in Tesco again!'

RedDen

When you say "come to us" do you mean tesco?

TAYPOT

Why did Tesco stop selling that Tarragon & White Wine mayo? That stuff was boss.

Every little helps.

Fernando Llorente has told Bilbao he wants to leave.

Any chance we might be interested {Ed049's Note - Not that i'm aware of.}

Sure we have Caroll as the long man don't need another.

Even if we were interested there's no chance of him coming, he will want champions league football

We may be interested but he has stated that he wants to move to a champions league club.

As good as he is, is he that much better/different to Carroll? I didn't realise he's 27 either, thought he was about 24.

No thanks.

Yh he has asked to leave...BECAUSE HE WANTS TO GOT TO A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLUB

Think he has signed for Juve

United are reputed to be interested as he is entering the final year of his current contract and could be available for a knockdown price or sign a pre-contract in the January transfer window. City will also likely be interested, I'm sure.

A truly wonderful player, who will light up the Premier League if he comes here. Really wish that we could get him but I think it unlikely.

Apparently we did try to buy him, when Torres was sold but Bilbao refused to sell.

Personally, other than his size, I don't get the repeated comparisons with Carroll, nor do I agree that he lacks pace, as some have previously suggested. For me, he is one of the best all round players in the world today.

Ginger Rodgers

Maybe Carrol will come good.. you never know. Lets see how he does under BR then decide if he needs replacing

Hello peeps, just a quick one can't mention any names here cos my source wouldn't be happy, but he tells me we have a striker and a attacking mid comin in one from Madrid an one from barca can any of u eds put any names to these 2 cos he wouldn't say.
Davey

Sahin and Villa.

Cant mention the name of the source or the players???????? i smell something

Attacking mid: sahin (loan) kaka (loan) , striker: tello, villa (loan)

You can't mention names cos your source won't be happy ? Yet he didn't give you names........Nice one

Benzema and Fabregas?

Ronaldo & Messi?

Ozil
Villa
??

Afellay (RWF) and Sahin (CM)? They're my best bets....

Sahin is going to Arsenal not us, deal in place

Callejon and afellay? {Ed049's Note - Sahin and Tello}

Cmon guys let's get real it's mourinho coming in on loan and he's bringing his wife and his daughter who studies in Barcelona riddle solved

Bull and s***

Cant mention names because you dont have a scooby doo

I think it's ronaldo and messi, my mates millkman told him that king Luis has had it written in his new contract that we had to get these two players, or he wouldn't sign it. Jonny71

Yep bull & s***, great players

Wot a load of tosh!

Higuain, Ozil and Messi of course. Don't you know anything? :D

Sahin and tello

A club can't sign two players from the same club on loan.

I hear it is mourinho's dog that is coming here on loan to partner the anfield cat up front with the Blackburn chicken being signed to help out with the defence

Sahin and Afellay.

Luis

Its Sahin and Tello. Hope your mate is right

Post anonymously then you can put the names?!

To anybody suggesting sahin and Kaka on loan it's not possible to have two players on loan from the same team.that is my understanding atleast, eds? {Ed049's Note - unless there is a loan to buy clause for the other.}

It is only more Twitter crap

"I don't believe we'd be stupid enough to except a transfer fee before the player agreed to the transfer"

Do you understand anything about how football transfers work?
the club accepts a fee and then only after that is accepted the bidding club can speak to the player/agent.

Gman

Actually we did already play this game once with AC

07 Aug 2012 22:01:59
Technically a player isn't allowed to talk to the purchasing club until the selling club has accepted an offer.

I personally think that none of our big name players will be leaving.

As I predicted before (you can see one of my old posts), We are set to sign De Vries from Wolves for an undisclosed fee. Not that exciting but does spell the end of Doni's (and possibly Jone's) time at Anfield.

It certainly isn't exciting [ if true ] but Doni won't be a loss and I never really understood why we paid so much for Jones.Jones seems a nice guy who has had a bad time in his personal life but he too isn't anything special as a keeper.

The Plank

How can we check your old post when you have not left a name

FSG have had talks with a Chinese billionare about possible investment in the club which will include money towards the new stadium and transfers also naming rights for the new ground i really hope this is true dan the red.

It would be good news but could you please state your source for this tidbit?

The Plank

Its actually everton in talks with the chinese peel holdings are buying shares from robert earle with a view to a possible take over in the future my mates a efc fan and said its all over there rumour page

A chinese airline is a potential sponsor to help fund redevelopment of Anfield. In about another quillion years. Otherwise this is an Everton rumour as above.

This has been an on going rumour for a while that china airlines was gonna invest for a new stadium for us.
FowlerGod.

FOR THE LAST TIME, WE ARE NOT GETTING A NEW STADIUM FFS!

Just wait until September when a redevelopment announcement will be made.

We shouldn't give out naming rights anyway, it should be called something that means something to LFC, not something that will make a business better known.

07 Aug 2012 17:23:02
luis suarez 2 sign new contract...yesssss

Torres signed a new contract not long before he left, means nothing other than he may negotiate more money ad we could get a bigger fee

Rob

Always look on the bright side of life Rob you miserable B*****D.he's on t.v. right now saying he wants to play for us and BR's style will suit him.Would you rather he'd put in a transfer request?

Don't worry Rob. The world might end before the season starts !

All been confirmed now on website yesss

Why dont you shut up rob, if you are a fan enjoy it if not please go else where

Torres had a face like a slapped a*** though in his last season

There really is nothing that will stop people from saying "The sky is falling!" if they really want to believe that it the sky is falling, is there?

Torres signed a new contract in August '09, a year and a half before he left. And he probably wouldn't have left if we hadn't been rubbish and played him when he was injured in that time. At the time he signed it, I think it's fair to say he planned to honour it.

At the very least, Suarez is now definitely not leaving this year. And as long as we're competetive, he should stay beyond that. Can't you even be a little bit happy about that?

- Something Red -

So what else he has to do to prove that he is genuinely willing to stay on. despite xenophobic media, unfair treatment from the fa and opportunities to play for CL, he has decided to commit his future. couple of more signings and we will be on course to claim CL place.

Has been officially confirmed

Some people are never happy

Done deal. I have only predicted one thing on this site and I am 100 per cent correct! My next prediction is we won't be signing Messi!

Finally now I can go and buy my LFC jersey ...with Suarez at the back!

Why is lfc news not on at 5 o'clock. Could this be to do with Suarez situation or perhaps a new signing.

{Ed006's Note - I flicked over at 5 hoping to hear the good news and was disapointed to see it wasnt on. I wouldnt hold your breath over a new signing mate.}

Its all over radio city that he has signed.

Hi Ed's,
Im just wondering if it's a possibility for us to get Walcott now that Arsebal has bought Cazorla? And do you think we're getting Sahin on loan?

Thanks for answers {Ed002's Note - Both are possibilities - Macca has said there is interest in Walcott.}

Walcott has stated he wants CL football so that rules a move out

07 Aug 2012 17:15:13
Hey eds is Liverpool interested in John Guidetti? I have heard some speculation that they are but I would like to hear your opinion.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Perhaps is the best I can offer right now.}

He ripped us when lfc reserves played city reserves, and he showed that he can more than handle the Eerste Divisie. strong and quick and good at finishing.

The Uruguayan revolution continues! Suarez signs a new deal, expect Ramirez to join for £14 million with add ons, and Godin (the best centre back in he world according to Betancourt!) to replace Agger for £9 million.

If we are getting rid of Agger, it makes sense to do most of our business before we let him go. Prices are already inflated and when clubs realise we have an extra £20 million in the bank everyone's price goes up by £3-5 million!

RedDen

I would love this to be true.

..And what happens when the Copa America starts and all of our South American players leave? Who is Bentacourt as well?

Sadly I'm pretty sure it isn't.

Jonesred

While we are at it why dont we bring cavani as well to replace carroll..
is betancourt the agent of all uruguyan players or what ?

We get the "best centre back in the world" for £9 million? I don't think so and "getting rid" of a player refers to either of a player past his best,a substandard player,or a trouble maker.None of these describe Agger.Hopefully Agger leaving is just another unfounded rumour like us selling Suarez has turned out to be.

The Plank

Yeah I know, but if we post a rumour on here it increases the chances of it happening! Think of this as a wish list that Rodgers frequently consults to decide who to sign!

RedDen

The copa america is on after the season is over.

Copa America is played in the Summer, is it not? Would probably mean an extended break for some of our South American players, but they wouldn't miss much of the start of the season, if any.

Rugby Parker

Since when is Coates national team back-up the best CB in the world. He couldn't carry Agger's boots. Keep Agger!

Are you trying to say Godin can carry Agger's boots all the time when Agger's injured. Nearly19

07 Aug 2012 16:38:18
Ed002 do you believe the story in marca that sahin may come to lfc? {Ed002's Note - I can cedratinly agree that Liverpool may be interested in Sahin but so are a number of other clubs.}

07 Aug 2012 15:36:08
Demsey will sign for Roma in 48 hours and Suarez signs a contract extension till 2016. {Ed002's Note - When was Suarez contracted to before?}

Suarez is already contracted until 2016! Scouserseb

Very good point Ed. Do you think this means we are giving fans a false sense of security or could it be improved terms? Or is the poster mistaken? {Ed002's Note - If it is a new deal without an extension it will be the club paying him more. Given who he met over the weekend it seems likely that the club are looking to fend off the Juventus bid.}

I think suarez was contract to 2014 but not too sure

nub {Ed002's Note - 2016.}

Apparently it's until 2017.

MR EM
{Ed002's Note - So a one year extension.}

Suarez was already contracted till 2016

2016 - so logically the new contact should run to at least the end of 16/17

Ed002 you got him there LOL

Whenever the extension takes him up to many sources are reporting he will sign the extension today.Once it is declared official by the club then that will be one less moan from the "we're selling all our best players" brigade.

The Plank

Current ran till 2016, (if) new one or extension, obviously longer now.
Piddy

Likely a year or so extension with the main objective of improving the terms of his contract, more or less..a raise.

This , IMHO, is a good bit of business to tell possible suitors to piss off and make the fans realize that they dont want to sell him. They are also supporting him as he is an integral role and cog in our "machine". They feel they should compensate him as such.

07 Aug 2012 15:22:30
Ed has Dempsey signed as there are rumours. {Ed002's Note - The situation with DEmpsey seems to be in limbo right now.}

He is going to Roma, USA team mate Bradley had a chat with him and roma and instigated a transfer. Roma are willing to pay £10 mill. As much as I like dempsey he is not the player Liverpool should be after.

Ed002 is this because Liverpool won't meet Fulham's requirement? I saw somewhere that Liverpool were now doubtful whether he would be a good investment due to his age? has LFC reconsidered there approach? perhaps this is why we hear of rumours of Quaresma?

AG {Ed002's Note - I would think that Liverpool are looking at the fee wanted by Fulham and thinking that it does not look good value for money. The reason for not walking away completely is likely to be the thought that, regardless of value for money, he has performed consistently in the EPL.}

What does 'in limbo' mean ed? Josh {Ed002's Note - Waiting for one side or the other to act - perhaps Fulham to say they will accept a lower fee.}

If fulham want 10 million for dempsey give it to them,if the guy scores as many goals as last year he is worth ever penny of the transfer fee,yes he is 29 but the way that players look after themselves now adays,he could do it for next 3yrs,10 million r whatever for them goals seems to me like a pittance.ray

ed has suarez signed a new contract plus its getting near the end of the window and most teams havent done their bussiness. i think its going to be an exciting few weeks. on a final note i read that you say their will be at least one offer for suarez. is that from juve and what do you think it will be around provided he hasnt signed a new contract?

thanks jc. {Ed002's Note - It is a little over half way through the window. It is rumoured that Suarez has signed a new contract and as I have explained at length Juventus are intending to make an offer for Suarez. Obviously the player and club can rebuke it if he is to stay at Liverpool.}

So if Suarez has signed a new contract does that mean that it is likely he won't leave or are the club just assuring he will be sold at a higher price? {Ed002's Note - It would be much, much less likely he would leave.}

Suarez has signed a new improved contract today it was on LFC tv at 2pm today mate

Ouch! Unlucky ed, wrong on Suarez twice now....

Ed 002 seems a little gutted if this is true been wanting the sale all window {Ed002's Note - Certainly I regret sharing any information about the interest of Juventus with you in recent months - which the press have only picked up on recently. It shows that it is a pretty pointless exercise telling you the truth.}

Ed was not wrong all she said was that there is strong intrest from Juve and PSG and was a chance he could leave due to the racism row.
I am happy if he is staying as we would never replace him with the same quality...
Skurks

Suarez has signed contract it is expected to be announced at 5pm: Sky are now reporting that the deal has been signed.

Reality is Juve would never be able to afford him unless they bankrupt themselves. There was an excellent financial report carried out on Juve earlier this year showing where they are still struggling financially.

Come on ed, just admit that it is your fault that Juventus have shown interest in Suarez... how dare you give us legit information.

Ed 002 u dont stop telling us all the news now over the persons u the best even if u are a Chelsea fan ;)

Surely you have to respect the Ed for giving us the information, not give him abuse because it ended up not being correct.

He has only ever said (correct me if I'm wrong) 'that in his opinion he thought it likely that Suarez could leave', yet now he's receiving abuse for it.

The silly thing is if he had refused to give his opinion, he would have received abuse for sitting on the fence.

I think the Eds do a great job and hope I'm in the majority. Long live the site.

IanElite

Nah, Ed002 is defo gutted, she's been telling us for months not to be too positive about him staying, generally creating a negative feeling with regards to this amongst regulars to the site. Cheers for the heads up, Ed002, with regards to possible interest from other clubs for our star player (who'd have thought it?), though the negative opinions/hopes from yourself never look good, especially when this happens. Keep up the good work anyway... even though you seem to not like us, I enjoy reading your info (just not the opinions which obviously don't hold court in the boardroom). {Ed002's Note - You want negativity just read posts from the so called fans. Read the posts beginning one minute after every Liverpool game last year. See the spewing hate about the owners, the player and the manager. See how many posts there are demanding the owners sell up to some sugar daddy. Read through this mornings posts. I might be a soft target for you to complain about - but perhaps you should think how embarrassing the "best fans in the world" are for Liverpool as a sclub.}

Ed don't don't take them seriously - They are just busting your balls (or ovaries) because we all want suarez here.

Guys f off and leave the ed alone. Never did it say that Suarez was going to Juve. It said Juve had interest in Suarez and Suarez got a tour around Juve, just because you cant read or read between lines that weren't there and took away from it Suarez is going to Juve, don't criticize the ed for your lack of literacy or reading comprehension. Eds thanks for all your info, sorry the IQ of this page is not quiet up to your standards.
Andrew

{Ed006's Note - Thankyou but be kind, people can mis-read things.}

Sorry your clearly outstandingly high IQ isn't capable of spelling 'correctly'. Or for that matter your grammar. As the Oasis song goes 'Get off your high horse!'.

Who cares what Juve are intending? Suarez has signed because he wants to stay and not because it gives the club greater bargaining power in a transfer deal.

Right i havnt made this up, so if this comes true you will see am not lying, my dad is currently up in the lake district and has just rung me. He was in a shop, and over heard a man in a suit talking to a certain *steven on the phone, and was having a conversation and it was mentioned and over heard that we have signed a midfielder from Malaga. This is 100% genuine. No lies at all, there was no name mentioned, just heard of a midfielder from malaga signing. 100% truth. Any idea's who this signing is Eds? maybe Isco?

Could this "steven" have been his mate and he was simply referring to the gooners signing cazorla....................................................???

How do you know this man works for LFC? could be some guy from arsenal reporting the carzola deal.. Or just some regular guy in a suit telling his mate that arsenal have signed carzola after it was confirmed?

Steven Spielberg?
Steven Seagal?
Steven Hawkins?
i have no idea who this Steven is but he must be sorting the transfers out himself if it's 100% genuine, your dad was probably just speaking to a friend called steven. lmao.

Come on mate, please? Ed's where do we get these guys from?

It has to be true, it's a little known fact that there are no Arsenal fans name Steven.

Who wears a suit in the Lake District in the summer? An undertaker, dodgey salesman, CID,

Let it be Toulalan

This poor lads been ripped to shreds, I'd laugh my head off if we signed Isco now and his agent turned out to be called Steven!

Lol! A man in a suit, in the Lake District! This place is becoming ace again. May the barren transfer spell continue!

Top rumour, after all this site is called Liverpool rumours, updates like this that make this site what it is today! Wish people would lighten up and realise its not called Liverpool facts, bob the taxi

This is true, its just what my dad said. central midfielder was stated in the over heard conversation. santi corzola is a right winger?

This is crazy if its true. A few days back I had a dream where I saw a whiteboard with a list written on it. I couldn't see much but I saw Malaga on it. Not saying therefore its true but if it becomes real I'll be freaking out.

Never seen a man in a suit in the lake district. worst rumour.....ever....

I've been in the lake district today. I can confirm nobody was wearing a suit.

This is without doubt,1 of best ones i heard this is the reason i like this site,great stuff lol

I can confirm that I was the man in question in the suit. Granted it was my birthday suit and my solicitor Steven is trying to get me released from police custody. Oh, and he told me that Arsenal have signed Santi Cazorla.

Hi eds appreciate all your hard work.
hearing rumours Allen may hand in a transfer request as he wants to move but rodgers is less than impressed with laudrup and swansea who are now wanting more than the £15mil (inc. add ons) that was agreed. Allen wants the move and rodgers wants him in ASAP to gel with the squad.

Thanks

Puzzled Red

If these players really wana come to LFC got to be done! LFc being held to ransome since KK mad spending.Let Allen,Dempsey and co prove how much they wana come

This is a done deal

I suspect that the announcement that Suarez has signed a new deal will be officially confirmed at 5pm when LFC now was meant to appear on LFC channel

What are you on about, it is still scheduled be be shown at 5pm

Its all ready been put out on lfc tv 60 seconds news

Ooo, well there's a surprise! I have the enormous piece of humble pie ready for you Ed002 - just you! Post it, go on, dare you! Lol.

That was my guess too. Or perhaps we are cutting the ties with Standard Chartered for dragging our good name down with their alleged links to Iran and Terrorist organisations!! Bit ironic after their complaints about Evra's lies and Luis' reaction!!

I would for someone to delve into the archives and post on here exactly when ED002 claimed that Suarez was deffo leaving Liverpool? I dont think he did. He merely suggested that it was a POSSIBILITY. So I wouldnt bake that humble pie just yet.....

Thanks

Kam {Ed002's Note - If he was definately leaving I would have said. If it was likely I would have said that as well - as I did with Dalglish and Carroll and Agger.}

Thats what I was trying to say Ed.

Thanks

All the talk of a possible load deal for Sahin. Could this be an alternative to an over priced Joe Allen?

Neil W

I suggested this some time ago and still believe it to be true. With spearing and adam gone there is room, and if sahin arrives then shelvey will be loaned out otherwise he will remain with the squad.

Hope so , rather Sahin then Allen , especially for his price, would rather spend 15 mil on a winger

I hope so too, this Allen issue is becoming more of a yawn now. overpriced and over rated all in one.

When were Spearing and Adam sold? I must have missed that!

The Plank

Sahin deal agreed with the gooners

LFCTV showed LFCNow too early, and showed the Suarez signed a new contract! by mistake, then quickly cut off.
Ruben

Ye mate seen it my self and posted it straight away but wasnt shown by the ed

Yeap. saw it. =)

I hope that turn out to be the case ,don't need speculation on your most priced possesion do u?

I saw this too :) . Now lets hope this kicks off many quality signings!

Cheers

Expect intrest to happen in Walcott this week need a winger arsenal gave got his replacement last year of his contract Macca stated there was intrest I think 10 million should do it! Also heard a rumour benayeoun was returning heard anything on this ed? Tommy b {Ed002's Note - No, sorry.}

Yep heard the Benayoun rumour too. Apparently he's the 'star loan signing'

Walcott will not be moving to us

I'd say there's no chance of Benayoun returning.

I have just come from Holidays in Turin where my father lives and works in a relatively high position for FIAT(where Andrea Agnelli is a board member and president of Juventus) On Friday we were at a dinner party and i asked Mr Agnelli about the RVP and Suarez situation. (He speaks excellent English) He said Juventus were interested in RVP but never actually made an offer and their coach Conte actually prefers Suarez. The reason they have not made a move is a combination of the Olympics and Conte having the issue of his Plea bargain prepared (and subsequently rejected) in regards to match fixing. He can now concentrate on working on targets. He said they will bid before the 15th to try and make sure he is ready for their Parma game on the 26th. Let's hope this doesn't come off..

Where do people come up with this stuff from

I can see this happening, pity, good player

Ths is the reason Ramirez hasn't and won't be signed, as Luis cannot be a guarenteed team mate. Suarez to leave this window and this has put Gaston off signing...... Oh dear.

Actually I think you'll find he hadn't signed coz we don't have 15-20m to buy him.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to join Juventus or any Italian club with all the problems re: match fixing. According to a friend whose wife is Italian this could be the tip of the iceberg.

10/10 for creativity boy

That's really accurate news mate, except Luis has just signed a new long term contract to stay at LFC.

KBL {Ed002's Note - Regardless of whether he has signed a new contract or not, there is no question about interest from Juventus.}

You just know when people go into such detail that they are talking total rubbish !

Suarez is signing a new contract so I'm guessing by your knowledge Ramirez should be signing...

Sahin is in negotiations with Liverpool as the possible star loan signing! Great signing I think

He's goin to arsenal ya clown

I would be very happy with this, great player.

MarkB.

Is Sahin in major star? i think not, what about u ed? {Ed002's Note - I am not a major star either.}

I would hardly regard sahin as a star.

Lol,i mean are u rate Sahin as a star?
question for u ed

{Ed002's Note - "Star" is entirely subjective to me.}

------------

He's a bigger name player than the current trash we are being linked with.

Sahin was unbelievable for borrusia dortmund so thats why real madrid signed but he got injured and couldnt recapture his form because of madrid all star midfield!....Sahin is very much a star and would easily be the best signing should we get him!

Good player but by no means a star? Hardly a massive achiever as yet and hasn't moved around for big fees. He's not a household name and judging by the games he got at real he's not in a star bracket. All said I would still like to see him at the club. Certainly has quality.

Swish

Bundesliga player of 2010-2011...That's why Madrid came in for him. Of course he's a star!

Tomaldo

We will get him on a perm

Ed002...funny stuff

but I agree with the poster that said Sahin is not a major star

I hate being negative but the signings so far and players linked are not filling me with great confidence.

Allen - good player but valued too highly by his club. Also his purchase will put the brakes on Jordan Hnderson's career (who himself cost c. 18m)

Walcott - all pace and no brain. If Wenger has failed to educate him then the odds are against him becoming a success with Liverpool. It happens sometimes players with real talent are let down by a poor mind.

Quaresma - has shown time and again to be a real disappointment.

I also really dont want to sell Agger. He loves the club and is one of the classiest defenders in the league.

Long live the Lion King

I know little about Quaresma but I agree about the other 2.Reading that [ with add ons ] Allen could cost us £16 million which is insanity! From what I've seen of him he seems little if at all better than Henderson and in the Olympic matches he looked physically lightweight.

Totally agree - but you do realise that you are going to get hit with all the ones with a blinkered "blind faith" attitude of ye shall not slate the club but ye shall get behind and not raise questions which require ye to look at the inevitable situation that we are simply not aiming high enough with purchases or being forced to pay over the odds (still) for very average players.

Quresma was only ever good on Football Manager, and even then he often stunk the place out.

I agree that Allen is a good player and he is not worth more than £10mill. I would only sign him if we are selling C.Adam. Would then have Stevie, Lucas, Jordan, Joe and Jonjo battling out for 3 centre midfield spots. If spearing wants to go I would let him, if not he is solid back-up. Need a big squad for 4 competitions.

With regards to Walcott, I totally disagree. His pace terrifies defenders, just look at how scared Barcelona where of him. A man with no intelligence, yet he set up Van persie for quite a few goals last season as well as scoring some. He is no Ronaldo, but he can win games for you and at a decent price and wages would be a great signing. Always say we miss pace in our team. He could be the one to bring it.

Stewie Griffin

Couldn't agree more.

I'm unfortunately in agreement entirely ...losing agger is the worse thing that could happen to us...it feels like the team is being downgraded ...we seem to be getting rid of the clever players ie agger Bellamy n maxi n keeping players like downing ....and now replacing these clever players with mediocre players with a lack Of understanding of the game ..we should go all out for alonso in my opinion ..loves the club n prob not gona get a new contract with real ! We seriously need a couple of players capable of stringing the team together as we have a disjointed team at present...I want to be positive n hope that we get some good signings and the mindset will improve ...please please please xxx sort it out

Good post. Totally agree. It is all only rumours though so lets wait and see. Sahin and Diarra could be good on loan though.

Thought through, well written & signed. No need to fear being slated, it's an opinion & that's fine. Its the trolls & slaggers that get my goat.

dd

Fed up with hearing of quersma every1 keeps sayin hes amazing due to his best bits on youtube, they never show the bad bits though, its like showing andy carrolls best goals an sayin he's worth 30mil but u know nothing else about him

I personally think Walcott and Allen would be good signings, if the price was right. They're both young, talented and hungry. Walcott for Kuyt and Allen for Adam, sounds like progression to me. Selling Agger would be a massive mistake, he's one of the best defenders in the League and more importantly wants to play for us.

Why cant lpool fans ever be happy? Been crying out for a winger with pace and we,re linked with walcott who has tremendous pace but still you,re unhappy. Walcott scored 11 goals and had 13 assissts in 46 appearances last season.

I agree with this post mainly but would like to raise the point that if we can get £20 million plus for agger thats a good deal. I love Agger by far my faviroute player at liverpool and i would hate to see him leave, but you have to be real. His injury record almost certainly means that his carreer will be cut shorter than most professionals. I dont think he will be a player that is still playing in his 30's as dont think his body will be able to take it unfortunatley. I hope im wrong. You have got to ask yourself -20 million for a player whos probably got 2 years left in football and given the injury history of the player they probably wont be injury free. Again i hope im wrong and i would love to keep him and it if we were like man city or PSG i would say keep him and buy another world class dfender as back up but were not. We have wasted alot of money in the last three to four seasons and unfortunatley it does seem as though we have to sell to buy (which I suppose is a sensible strategy). I think Commoli and KK set us back a couple of years wih regards to purchases as it pretty much seems about 80% of the players they bought have no future at LFC.

You have to remeber that the style of football that Rodgers likes does not need flair players so much as technically adept intelligent ones.

If they put the worst bits of Quaresma on youtube it would take a year to buffer.

Actually if they let a lot of the videos of his best bits carry on another 5 seconds you'd see a lot of his worst bits.

I understand some of your concern, but also keep in mind not every player we are linked to is truely being pursued. Allen is too young to be completely evaluated plus has impressive statistics to bring into this club. Walcott will not be joining. Quaresema is a joke. As far as selling Agger is concerned I would bite anyone's hand off for him if it is above 20 mllion. People seem to forget how much of an injury case this guy is despite all the talent he brings with him. Not to mention we have some good young talent ready to take his spot, and the best time to do so would be in transition.

Team being down graded? We're already a 2nd tier team. We have been for 3 seasons.
As for Agger loving the club, we thought the same about Torres. Footballers have no loyalty to teams now, just healthy bank balances.
I want Liverpool to keep Agger & if we have to sell to buy then get rid of Skrtel. He's rash & overrated.

Gav the Red

Walcott would be a good signing, he's also a liverpool fan : ) I agree about Allen though. I'm not too worried about losing Agger, getting 20+ million for an injury prone defender will be the best offer we'll ever get for him.

Gav the red, spot on fella

Thanks for your replies. I understand and agree with the finances surrounding Agger's transfer: 20m for an injury prone CB is a good bit of business. However it sends out signals that we are now a team happy to sell their best players if the price is right (it would be different if he wanted out, maybe he does and is playing a good PR game).

On walcott, he might be a pacey winger but he has no end product. Time and time again Arsenal fans complain about his poor decision making.

Signing him shows lack of imagination on behalf of the management team. It seems that they are doing a Kenny and spending large amounts on good but not great premiership players (who in my opinion might have already reached their level).

If you are not going to take risks on young talent, we may as well disband the scouting network.

I will of course support the team no matter what. But thus far the omens are not good. Thanks to the eds for their ongoing sterling work.

Long live the king

I too have my doubts about Walcott but he had a great season last year and he does seem to be getting better and better. I would settle for one of our wingers weighing in with 11 goals and 13 assists! Someone said Allen looked lightweight? What? He was brilliant in the Olympics. Him, Bellamy, Cleverley and Ramsey were stand out players for me. Quaresma however is totally s*** and I would be very surprised if those rumours are true.

MarkB.

Considering his injury record, 20million plus for Agger could be a good bit of business. That's my opinion anyway

Who cares re henderson. Did nothing last year and should we play him at Liverpool's expense this year just to furtehr his career? Ofcourse not , we need another quality midfielder.

Agree re walcott and Quaresma. But Walcott for £10 mill would be worth a gamble.

Agger yes should not be sold, massive mistake.

Walcott is not good enough statistics are useless in football when we bought downing he had similiar statistic same as charlie adam had fantastic statistic. Remember manager like wenger couldn't educate him how come religation manager like rodgers could improve him

£20m for Agger - id bite their arm off....he's a good player but his injury record is shocking.
Boozley {Ed049's Note -

For me Walcott would want wages that I don't think he would justify. He is certainly talented, but I don't think he is the complete package. Allen I thought looked good in Team GB, he moves the ball quickly and positively and now we have moved Aquilani on we are saddled with Adam to be the man to make things happen with regards to passing and he wasn't good enough last year, Fergy (spits on the floor) reckoned his free kicks were worth 10 mil alone he can have him. I don't, though, think Allen is worth 20+ mil, he still has more to prove a price tag like that and there is equal players for less abroad, Laudrup must be on crack if he thinks he is worth more than a maximum of 15 mil. I still wouldn't mind seeing Dempsey for the right money. I would be sad to see Agger leave at any price, he is so assured when he is fit and despite his injury issues he loves the club and should have that loyalty rewarded, remember him sticking one on Torres, makes me smile every time.

Anonyred

I don't see where you can see anything as an omen. We won on the road with a team that isn't even close to being complete in the first meaningful game, and have only signed one player. We will get more, and just like any season judgement should be reserved until performance as a team has been evaluated. Henderson also has alot to offer when played in position which he rarely was, and Shelvey has impressed I don't even see a point of buying another midfielder outside of giving reason never to let Jay Spearing on the pitch again.

I'm going to go against most of you in here in terms of opinion, and I'm sure ed02 and other ed's will agree with me.

First off, Rodgers is the manager of LFC. He has to have some degree of knowledge to be offered a job like that, so he must know what he's doing.

Joe Allen should be seen as a prized asset.
Walcott would improve the team regardless of what people say about his end product. He was a regular starter for Arsenal, and would offer pace to a team that is severely lacking pace.

We would hardly Quaresma.

Agger has played less than half of the games available to him since he joined LFC. There are plenty of defenders you can buy for less than £20m if you stop to think about it, just look at the defenders who have been brought in to other clubs in the league over the past few years, it can easily be done. To get £20m for an injury prone defender (even if he is a great defender) is good business.

On young talent, I believe the manager has said "if you are good enough you are old enough" with regards to the younger players. He has also given them some good game time in the pre-season friendlies, and I remember Sterling even came on in the Europa League.

Our manager and the owners have a long term project for the club. Rome wasn't built in a day, just give it time. I remember some people giving out after 20 mins of the Europa League match saying the team was this and that and Rodgers was this and that. Sadly, patience is a virtue few people have.

Thanks to those who have read my long post.
Thanks ed's,
TommyB

TommyB. Hat's off to you. Far too many people whinging and moaning because we haven't shown an interest in Cavani, Hazard, Lucas Moura or many other massively expensive players being linked with CL teams. The reality is we seem to be targetting players we can realistically afford and entice and they are an improvement on what we already have. We should be targetting tomorrow's star players and not ones that are established already.

MarkB.

Reply to Tommy B and Mark B.

I never thought that we would be getting Moura, Cavani etc. I just think that are 'rumoured' targets are unimaginative and smell off a manager sticking to what he feels is safe and not trusting the club's scouting infrastructure. We are paying top prices for players whose level is probably just above mid table.

For two years now if you do well in a mid division team, your name will get linked to Liverpool. Most likely we will buy them at over inflated prices and put them on great wages.

Yes it is a winge but as a fan I am entitled to an opinion. I will support the team whatever. It is frustrating seeing the mistakes Kenny made being repeated.

long live the king

Couldn't agree more

I can understand people's frustrations but here's a few reasons as to why I'd love us to sign Walcott:

Theo Walcott is still only 23 and is himself a Liverpool supporter- a couple of big bonuses many forget.

Walcott got 8 goals and 11 assists in 32 Premier League starts last year, meaning he contributed to a goal in 2 in 3 matches.

Many believe Walcott would be adapted slightly by Rodgers to play as a central forward as the sort of 'new Michael Owen', or indeed he'll play as a wide forward rather than as a winger as he does for Arsenal. This would eliminate a large percentage of the 'decisions' he struggles with by giving him a more focused role.

Walcott's pace stretches opposing teams which would give other players such as Suarez more space. One of our problems last summer was surrounding Andy Carroll with players apparently designed to get the best out of him, when it was Suarez that should have had the focus.

How many loan players can a club sign?
Redmanluka {Ed002's Note - Four in anyone season with no more than one from any one club (unless one is a GK or there is a loan to buy clause).

Good uestion, great answer thanks ED002 the legend!!

Don

And say there is loan to buy clause, does that buy clause have be written in stone, you know like how aquilani's buy clauses never were?

Cristian tello? Is there any interest from Liverpool or just rumours? Because it appears that he is available now and in his last year so could get a real bargain for a player that offers pace skill flair. What are your thoughts eds? {Ed002's Note - Barcelona have no immediate plans for the player under the new manager. I understand that there remains a slim chance of a loan deal to Ajax as part of a deal for another player but I suspect he will be sold rather than head to the B team. My understanding is that general enquiries about the player's availability have been made by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. Discussions about loans of one type or another have been discussed by Valencia, Ajax and Atletico Madrid. I also understand that Benfica have now made a proposal to Barcelona - but I don't know what it is. So there is clear interest from Liverpool.}

Thankyou, I consider that to be good news. I am guessing 6 to 8 mil which would be a great deal compared to guys like borini and ramirez in my opinion

Liverpool after Watford starlet Sean Murray who will cost around 7 million

Hi ED rodgers was spotted spying at Tramere

Seems massively unlikely we'll pay £7 million for an 18 year old virtually unknown midfielder.Okay I'll now stand by for all the experts who know all about him to tell me he's a soccer genius that all the top clubs want to sign.

Why are Liverpool going after an average player who no one has ever heard of

And 7 million for a player from Watford is just stupid

Watford are just awful

I have to admit that I've had enough of starlets, proteges, next big things and promising English youngsters.

7 million are ya serious

Liverpool to sign 23 year old Canadian Stefano Vierra from Carleton University for 12 mil.

After the confirmed capture of Santi Cazorla by Arsenal, sources report that Theo Walcott has been given the green light by Arsene Wenger to look for another club, given a dispute over a disagreement over a new contract, as well as the arising stars in Miyaichi and Oxlade-Chamberlain, and existing stars in Gervinho and now Santi Cazorla.

Gervinho? A star? If you say so.

Cazorla will play centre attacking mid for Arsenal, not on the wing. Ryo will go on loan and Gervinho will b used on the left. Ox will share the right with Walcott, who isnt going to leave.

Where is Podolski playing then lad? I hope we do sign him. RVP has said himself he wouldn't of been in such rich form last season without Walcott assisting him.

Podolski will share the left with Gervinho or play striker if rvp leaves. Simple

07 Aug 2012 10:38:30
good god Joe Allen is not worth 10 million let alone 15 or 20 he is a goodplayer but lets face it when we bought a certain right sided/central midfield player from sunderland for 20million he wasnt all what he seemed to be now LFC have overspent ridiculously and instead of wasting stupid money on a player who may or may not be a success we should spend it on a player who is one of uruguays hottest prospects or one of nigerias biggest prospects in Gaston Ramirez and Victor Moses both of whom would probably cost less than allen.

Moses 7-8 {Ed002's Note - I suspect Victor Moses will complete a move to Chelsea on Friday.}

He only going to sit on the bench at chelski he be supaid to go there

Allen is a one season wonder like Rodgers

Ridiculous post. Another plank who should go and support City.

Gaston Ramirez would be around 20 million and Joe Allen would be 15. Also Henderson is signed for the future and once you have the liverpool crowd shouting at you every game, it gets hard and the confidence goes down. Allen is there for the future but more now aswell as he knows BR and how he plays. 15million is nothing for this Joe Allen.

You obviously werent watching the Olympics or you would conceed that Allen completely outshone supposed golden boys Cleverly and Ramsey. He is nothing like Henderson. He is involved in everything, he does ity simple, he does it quick...he would dovetail superbly well with Levia in my opinion. Our midfield has sucked for years, there is no balance to it, no clearly defined roles - or we have players playing in there who just arent up to scratch such as spearing. Allen and Lucas would give us the right blend of steel, discipline, passing, urgency...and a great platform for players like gerard and yes, henderson, to attack the opposition; ie, what they are good at. Arguably, he is is most definately worth 20 mil but in any case that is just laudraup trying to stor things. Id be suprised if we ended up paying the 15 never mind 20. As for Rameriz....again, he scored a great free kick but he was an embarrasment against GB. I dont think he would have won a lot of fans on that performance. We need to get away from the obsession with flash signings and concentrate on building a team with the right blend of qualities...some of which are always more predestrian and mundane than others..

Ramirez may turn out good but he wasnt that special in the olympics was he .... steve

The current report says gaston ramirez is available for 16m and swansea have made it clear that Allen will not be cheaper. I can see de ja vu, we will end up paying over the odds like we did for downing and henderson.

Allen is way overated just like BR

End result: Allen will stay at Swansea

I dont think ramirez is all that either from what ive seen

Sorry I watched the Olympic matches and Allen looked like a Henderson clone playing short safe passes also he looks phsically lightweight.

The Plank

Allen is a brilliant player, very classy and works well under BR, but 15-20 million, that is so over-priced. Allen is worth no more than 12 million tops

And for Ramirez, he's just amazing, ok, he didn't really perform in the Olympics, but he still has skill, and to be wanted by the all might Liverpool, the over spending man city, and the Italian giants, inter Milan... He must be outstanding

We can hardly pick and choose who we sign like man city, united, or chelsea can this year! We're looking to improve the team from last season, which Allen would do! He's a young player with a good pass and mature attitude! And before anyone starts going on about club history etc... history means nothing to players when their team is coming 8th in the league and offering no champ league! Danny

I think you should take a step back from the money and value of transfers and look at what Rodgers is trying to achieve by bringing Joe Allen to the club.

He's trying to instill a passing game into the players and bring a possession based philosophy to the team. Often key to that is bringing in a player or players to whom this is second nature and this influence will spread and encourage this type of play through the team.

Consider it a passing game transplant, much like what we would hope re-signing Alonso would bring to us.

Have you ever played football and your team has brought in a player who is clearly a cut above and it raises everyones game? I've seen it not work, but it's a great thing to bring in someone who does a lot of running, is always available for a pass and rarely gives the ball away. Joe Allen.

Obviously there are differences of opinon over Allen. I couldnt disgree more with (the) Plank, I think he looks far from lightweight...when he goes in for a tackle he goes in hard. He doesnt run around like a nutter being 'busy' without actually contriubuting anything of note...quite the opposite. He has excellent discipline and positional sense, he rarely looses the ball and he generlaly uses it by taking the most sensible option. We dont want somebody looking for that sexy forward pass all the time and suceeding about once out of every 15 attempts, we need a guy that keeps things constantly ticking over, that maintaions a good sense of urgency...that shoulders responsibility by going and taking the ball off the CB's and spraying the ball around without farting about. We need to get the foundation stones sorted...walk before we can run. Our midfield has been a mess for years, the siging of Allen would restore balance to the force so Henderson and his aging master obi-wan (Gerard) can do what they do best. Henderson cost 16Mil is my understanding. He is only young, give him at least another season for christs sakes. He has all the atributes, what he needs is to be given a clearly defined role in the team. He is far more suited to pass and move than some of the other midfielders we have and I am confident he is capable of scoring goals from midfield once he is given licence to come forward in a specific system - rather than running around like a headless chicken.
Buying players with talent without thinking it through as reagards how best we can use their atributes has been our downfall for years. This manager has a very clear vision and he knows exactly which type of player suits a particular role. Give the whole project a chance and be patient till we see how things progress this season. The amount of negativity from some people does my head in. Forget what other people are doing in theb transfer market; I think we are playing a good game of poker this year and i think we will get the key players we are looking for without being royally shafted like we were last year.

Another ill-informed poster who doesn't know where the punctuation buttons are. Neither Ramirez nor Moses can fulfil the same roles for the team as Allen. In addition, Ramirez will cost as much, if not more than Allen and is untested in English conditions. Moses wants to return to London - so it doesn't matter what his price is.

We didn't spend 20 million on Henderson get your facts right person {Ed049's Note - 13+3million add ons.}

I think that post is right mate leighton 7

Liverpool should really take advantage of Arsenal's recent splurge on attackers such as Podolski, Giroud and now Cazorla by upping the interest in Theo Wallcott.

He would walk into our team at the present time and would be a massive boost to our depleted wing stocks. Surely would be thinking about a move with so many attackers coming in, limiting his game time even more.
thoughts eds? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest in Walcott but Macca did say that there is some and I have no reason not to believe him.}

Cant see Walcott wanting to leave Arsenal to a non CL team for similar money. Walcott will share the right wing with Ox and Cazorla will play through the middle. Wont effect walcott with the signing.

Seriously? Walcott is a headless chicken. No better than what we have and I do not want a gooner reject.

Pompey Red

Yes he'd walk into the team, run down the wing and either spoon his shot or give the ball away. He is not what we need.

Ozone

Nah your right ozone, lets just have downing who registered zero assists, and zero goals last season in the league.

The biggest problem would be to convince Walcott to come to Liverpool and play in a wing position. No matter who he plays for next season, he wants to play in a central role.

If anger is going for big bucks lets test psg's resolve for sakho as he wants out! What's the latest situation of sakho ed? I have heard from a source from melwood that the loan signing is afellay too, barca want him to get game time and assess him before getting rid after a big injury setback.

Lenny {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not shown any interest in Sakho through his club or agent. PSG do not want to sell Sakho. Sakho says PSG are the best club in the world and he does not want to leave. PSG have no interest in Agger. As such, I am pretty sure Sakho will not be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

What about afellay ed ,why no reply? {Ed002's Note - It has been done to death already.}

Thanks for clearing that up mate.

Lenny

Afellay going nowhere - at least not to Liverpool

SMOKESCREEN......If Agger goes we will make a bid for Sakho. Of this i am sure!

Aparently Laudrup claiming that Allen is worth £20m+!!!!
Is this true eds?! Can you see us spending that much?
Welsh_Dave

He is saying based on the price we paid for henderson he should be woth 20mill, Allen has a 15 buyout clause in his contract
Jaydee ynwa

Ed, correct me if Im wrong - but I thought Allen had a buyout clause of 15m? {Ed002's Note - As I have said on numerous occasions, do't get too tied up in "buy out" clauses and the like.}

Forget this alonso could be brought back for this money still got 3 or 4 years left.

This is a joke we can get gaston remirez for that money if br even tries to spend 20 million on allen he should be shot not sacked

Laudrup knows from his past experience when we tried to sign him that lfc are poor negociators.

"Liverpool are poor negotiators" - Why are the same people still at the club and involved in transfer dealings? Must be no real business people at LFC then.

Quaresma being linked for £6.3m and beskitas are trying to get him off the books due to there finacial problems, very good buy at that price. == heard anything eds?

BigD {Ed002's Note - See other responses.}

Can see this being a shrewd buy, spend a little on a gamble that can go either way till sterling develops.

Gingerviking

Be useful addition, not a first team starter, but good to have on the bench or for europa. He has scored a lot and played well in turkey. If i remember correctly he had a loan spell at chelsea before, didnt really impress but still gives him prem experience. If he gets on form he will be a great buy, especially as we are so lacking now that kuyt n maxi have gone, creative player he is, can score as well. Johndog

Heard we are interested in Andre Ayew. Do you know if he is available eds? {Ed002's Note - Inter have shown an interest but Marseille have no intention of selling him.}

I'm from France and I can tell you that Marseille is in a very complicated financial situation. They need money quick, and I'm pretty sure that some of their best players will go from OM this summer (Azpilicueta, M'bia, Remy, A. Ayew).
But I don't see Ayew moving to Liverpool (price, wages ?) as Champions League clubs want him too. {Ed002's Note - Azpilicueta will leave this week in all probability. An offer was presented to Marseille representatives in London at the end of last week. There may be some final negotiation but it seems that the transaction will go through.}

Eds is it true we have interest in rodrigo machado? He plays for benfica an had a loan spell at Bolton. He's an under 23 player for Spain. Looks really promising! {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest at this time.}

06 Aug 2012 22:41:22
Eds, am I right in thinking talks about the four players coming in began before Borini arrived?
Is Borini and the likely Allen deal part of the four players, with two more coming in?
Also, if the likes of Carroll and Agger are sold, surely the replacements are not part of those four, right? {Ed002's Note - I would not get too tied up with specific numbers of players arriving or leaving.}

Morning Ed,

Any news of any signings on the right wing? as I see it we only have 17yo Sterling, and I'm starting to worry.

Thanks
G-Flex {Ed002's Note - Rumours of Quaresma persist.}

Isn't sterling a left winger though?

Quaresma is overrated and has a gigantic ego! He has his spectacular moments but would be surprised if we picked him up...

Erik_Oslo

Hey Ed02, Do you think there is anything in these rumours? Also as you may have watched a bit of him at Chelsea do you think he would fit well into the P.L. I watched the game in the Europa league last season I think, when he played against stoke and he tore them up.
Cheers mate
Good work as always
Jackson87 {Ed002's Note - I was still living in Monaco whhen he was at Chelsea but I don't recall him playing more than a handful of games. Much was expected of him when he was younger but since leaving Porto he has been much lower profile. The rumours persist and he would, I expect, be cheap so it is certainly a strong "maybe" for Liverpool.}

Quaresma,was a gifted player but attitude has let him down,fighting with team mates & falling out with managers ,but maybe he would be better than what we have ,28 yrs old take him on loan for a season then see.

Just rumours ed 2 or genuine interest?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I have no confirmation of interest but there are rumours of interest and it would not be out of the question - but it seems perhaps a little risky to me.}

Didn't Rafa look at this guy several times when he was younger, before he left Porto, and in the end decided against for one reason or another? In my opinion would be a good squad addition although admittedly have not seen him play for a few years.

Downing can play on the right, joe cole,

A bid for Walcott will be made towards the end of the week, especially after Arsenal's recent buy's and back up in the squad.

Big Andy is digging his heals in. Doesn't want to leave and will refuse all offers incl West Ham and Newcastle.

Hence, LFC have turned their attentions to selling Dagger to raise the £20m they need / want for new players.

It seems LFC really do have to sell to buy. Not all bad, as long as they spend it wisely (for a change!).

LFC_SA

I am getting less and less impressed with FSG. Owning a club like LFC comes with responsibilities. One of those is investment in player on a rolling basis. We deserve better.

Good I hope Carroll and Agger both stay,as all we really needed was a winger to replace Dirk.Selling our best defender and striker,who came good towards the end is madness,and to sell the to teams how finished above us last year is rainhill crazy!!

You cant be too upset with fsg, put yourself in their shoes, your first major outing in the transfer window and you entrust in your staff £35m for AC, £20m for SD, £16m for JH and £9m for CA.
If i were them i'd be reluctant to make large sums of money available too.
Tom

CA was 6m, Henderson was 14m. You forgot Enrique for 6m and Suarez for 20m, but then you also forgot that they sold Torres for 50m, sold Babel for 7m and got a whole bunch of overpaid players off the wage bill, including Cole and Aquilani for a seaon, but why let the facts get in the way of a good beatdown of our old management team? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool contributed more than £7M to the wages of Cole, Aquilani and Poulsen last season.}

Its not about being reluctant, like the poster above says owning a club like liverpool carries great responsibility and a rolling investment to help build the squad, not every transfer will work out, fsg said we are building for the future carroll and henderson were buys for the future, we need buys for the starting 11 now.
Jaydee ynwa

What are you on about, we want to sell carroll because he doesnt fit in, and agger is not a player we are looking to sell, but we will sell if we get 22 million

Plus all the money to service the debts, and are your figures including basic add ons and vat?

I really hope Carroll stays. We talk of buying for the future and now suddenly there's a style of football that he can't play before they have even started. If the new way of playing is that revolutionary maybe we ought to develop it gradually. We created plenty of chances last season so the system can't have been that bad. Big Andy will come good - BR should support him not try to destroy the confidence he built with England. We've got a tough start to the season so we need AC ready.

*GASP* you mean DAGGER is going to stab us in the back and leave?

Plank

Money to service what debt? FSG cleared the vast majority of the debt when buying the club and left only a manageable, normal running deficit. This is why Ian Ayre has said that the club is more stable financially than it has been for years.

Matias Suarez on the verge of joining Liverpool fc.

He's Argentinian and doesn't play in the national team. So he can't get a work permit.

Is there not a report that he failed a medical for csk at the wk end ,why would he pass r medical,with the work permit is there not a process were you can get 1 for having an exceptional talent r something too this effect.Tommy Irish Red. {Ed002's Note - There is a process for "special talent" but it is typically applied to younger players.}

He failed his medical at Moscow we wont sign him if he cant pass a medical

He just failed a medical at some other club and has been sent back to anderlecht so forget that story.

Matias Suarez will not sign for Liverpool and it is becoming more and more clear that neither Dempsey or Allen will sign for Liverpool.

Rather unlikely seeing as he yesterday failed a medical at CSKA Moscow. Why would we want him after that?

Bournemouth RED

Lmao, to people saying "why would want him after he failed his medical". How thick headed can you be, you fail to see that Demba Ba also failed his medical at Stoke City before he signed for West Ham??. Christ, just because he failed his medical at CSKA doesnt meant Suarez will fail his medical at LFC. I dont know much about that rule regarding players getting work permits only if they are involved in their national teams in some way, but it thats then it will b difficult to get him.
Also, just voicing my opinion about that rule regarding younger players getting their work permits through "special talent". I think its ridiculous, it means that players deemed "old" arent talents??. And more so because they cant represent their national teams they cant get a permit. Now thats just ludicrous. I know we cant do a thing about it, but how does it benefit clubs who want to get a gem of player who has the potential to make the squad for his national team but hasnt yet???...#Corruption at its best.... {Ed002's Note - Rubbish. It is nothing whatsoever to do with "corruption".}

Maybe its a way of giving homebased players a chance of making it in the game .our its just the rules to keep immigration levels down and football is no different to any other job.Tommy Irish Red.

Firstly, why on earth would he have a problem getting a work permit? Hes been playing in Holland for the last 5 years, and last season was voted player of the year.
And failing a medical in Russia has nowt to do with it. it is a player dalglish was reportedly interested in {Ed002's Note - He is not a European citizen - he needs to meet the criteria for a work permit or an exception needs to be applied for.}

Appreciate that ed002, but he fact hes played in Belgium for the last five years, and was player of the year last season, should count fairly heavily in his favour. cant see him having any permit issues. Hes nearly been in europe long enough to apply for a passport and qualify for the belgian national team :D {Ed002's Note - It will count in his favour. However if he applies for a Belgian passport simply to ease a transfer to England (after failing with a move to Russia) I would very much doubt that that the authorities in Belgium would look kindly on it.}

Was he in holland r belgium Lol.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that Joe Allen will be 'very, very expensive' and should cost Liverpool more than £20million?? eds is this guy smokin somethin lol {Ed049's Note - I don't know lol, that is a classic tactic of driving the player's market value up.}

I thought the price had already been agreed.?

He's obviously heard that we pay twice the market value for over rated British players

We know that liverpool can capture Allen for his £15m release clause which I believe will be completed very soon.

I do understand where laudrup is coming from, he basically sees Allen as a better player than Henderson who we paid £16-17m for hence the £20m valuation, I must say I agree that allen is far the better player

Andy

Well after liverpools history of signing, it wouldnt be a suprise if we over pay...

Well, i agree that Allen may be a better player at present than Henderson but 20M for both of them was ludicrous. I am sure if we had offered a young player like Sterling or Morgan to go on loan then we would get Hendo for about 15-17M....

Hold on a season, let swansea go down and get him for 5 million. Worth 20+ landrup is dreaming.

I would have thought his valuation was irrelevant anyway given that it's widely reported of a release clause. So it's down to what Allen wants if we meet the valuation. Providing it's true about the release clause?

MarkB.

2 possibilities for the loanee : Eto'o or Robinho?

Really ?

get real

Robinho is not suitable for English football. Look what happened to him when he was in City. Eto'o seems settled with Anzhi.

If we sell Agger, I'm more interested in whether can we signing Christopher Samba on loan.

Eto'o ?
Do you think LFC can afford his 12M£ per year wages ?
Same for Robinho.

Hearing juve want suarez after rvp snub

kopite94

I do believe Ed002 has been saying this for literally months now. It's not exactly surprising (if true).

I have sources in spain and england that christian tello was not picked in barcas full squad arsenal and us are said to be interested

I heard that from ed 002 about 8 weeks ago m8

Its all rubbish he don't wanna go there

Who told you that? Your itk sauce? Or the usual media bull making up stories? Maybe it was the voice inside your head...

Rich

Hearing it? That implies that someone has actually verbally told you it, when it is obvious you have regurgitated this from the papers/BBC gossip column...that's hardly a case of "being itk"....

Question is can they afford suarez? I say no, they are all talk, talking big but they cant pay over £30 mil to buy him so i wouldnt worry unless these owners are real mercenaries and just want to sell our best players to buy players, no way can juventus pay 35+ mil which is the minimum suarez is worth. RedTurk

You mean you read it on the BBC website.

Good. Sell Suarez instead of agger and we can buy a goalscorer as well as our other targets. Our main problem last year wa snot converting the chances we made. There is no denying the ability of Luis but I feel he has tarnished the reputation of the football club. If we could get 30+ million for him I'd replace with joe Allen and a goalscorer to play upfront with ac, unless boring can be this player. I personally feel we need someone like Jordan rhodes with a bit more pace.

If they cant get a old player that wants to leave an is running out of contract then they have no chance of a young talented player who loves is club an is signing a contract extension

Bologna are demanding a fee in the region of £16m for Gaston Ramirez, 21, a target for Liverpool and Tottenham. Inter Milan are also said to be looking at the Uruguayan playmaker.

I say pay the 16 now if that's true, he can't do any worse than downing last season...

If the guy is any good, then maybe....but what is the point of spending 16 million on someone who 'maybe' better than Downing?

Headline from Talks#ite, but if its got any truth in it, offer the £16m and hope Luis and Seb can convince him that Liverpool is the place he should want to play football, just hoping Inter don't gazump us!, and convince him to play for them.

You obviously haven't grasped the fact that we have no money!

Get him in quick! the boy is world class material... Reminds me of a young Kaka!

Downing certainly can't do any worse than he did last season either. If he shows anything like the form he's capable off, it will be like a new signing.
Although I do think Ramirez would be a good signing, personally I cannot see it happening.

John B

Good, positive thinking. never mind whether he is a good player or not, just throw £16m at a player as long as they are better than Downing

Nah we'd rather pay 15 million for Allen....

I can't see Liverpool's transfer policy being based on buying players who 'can't do any worse' than the biggest flops currently playing at the club?
Hopefully we'll sign the lad due to his massive potential and the storming season he had last season at Bologna.

Eddie

Lmao, "he cant do any worse than Downing", were having a laugh, more like Downing thinking, "I cant do any better than Ramirez did last season". Thats how low i rate Downing because for a player at the age of 27 and playing for the national team, its no excuse really. Imagine even Arsenal fans criticize Theo Walcott when he scores atleast 12 goals for them and provides some 8-10 assists per season. Downing has no excuse whatsoever to do virtually nothing throughout out League Campaign...Ramirez however has been consistent week in, week out for Bologna and also Uruguay...

Again like most people if we are willing to pay £15 mill for joe Allen (maybe more with laundrups recent comments) then Ramirez at £16 mill is a no brainer.

I agree with you about ramerez but downing will flourish this season under br because iv always said downing is more deadly down the right and its where he has got all his goals from in a liverpool top and killed it at villa down the right

The Guardian .

Manchester City have been told they will have to pay more than £22m to lure Daniel Agger from Liverpool, having made an informal approach for the Denmark international.

The Premier League champions have registered their interest in the 27-year-old with Liverpool, who are reluctant to lose the stylish defender but have yet to finalise a new contract with a player who has two years remaining on his current deal.

City value Agger at about £18m, though have not submitted an offer, but it would take an improved fee to tempt Liverpool to sell. The Anfield club considers the £22m that City paid to Everton for Joleon Lescott in 2009.

it's a copy pest. please don't abuse for that.

r-r

Good point that about Lescott.. we know they obviously have bundles of money, if we are going to sell which I hope we don't then we should push them to the limit and get a massive fee.

Dan Agger is one of the best cb's around, if they were willing to pay Everton 18m for Lescott's services it would not be unrealistic of us to ask for 25m imo.

H.Singh

Sorry I mean 22m for Lescott, I though it was 18m, in which case we can hold out for 28m for Agger!

H.Singh

Like most fans I imagine, I've been contemplating losing Agger to City since he was left at home last week for the Gomel tie.

I've gotta say after much thought I'm well against it. I saw someone post a reply to another rumour below who likened the Agger scenario to Torres forcing the clubs had last year. Now we all know this is nothing like the Torres saga, but it does remind me of the Gerrard Chelsea saga 7 years ago. The player not really wanting to go but the club pushing them towards the exit after seeing what a megarich club will pay for them. I can only hope, like Gerrard, the club see that Agger is irreplaceable no matter what fee we could get for him. I know what you're gonna say, £10 million plus for an injury prone defender. Well if Agger gets injured after 5 games I'll hold my hands up, but his quality makes him worth the risk {Ed049's Note - Agger is like Alonso, his footballing value is much more than his financial value}

They spent big early on, but with their squad being very good now, i dont think they'll let themselves be bullied for a price. they'll just leave. PLS LEAVE. I really hope Agger stays.

Kaizer

Still hope we don't sell Agger. He's loyal, loves the club and city, and is one of the best CB's around. In my opinion, it would have to be a 35mil + offer for me to be okay with this. BUT FSG probably won't reinvest it into someone just as good to replace Agger. They'd want to buy a young, 20-21 year old who doesn't cosy more than 10 mil and takes a few seasons to reach his best. LFC can't afford to have anymore holes in their line up. I say sell the players who are actually dead weight (ie cole, Adam, spearing) and keep the ones who are vital to our squad. Agger is not someone we should be selling. Ever.

Dont you just hate those copy pest's

Are you saying that you are the copy pest...?

The problem is that Barcelona are lurking with interest. If they launch a bid that would be even more tempting - i think agger is reluctant to leave to another englidh club, as seen by how he reacted to torres' move to chelsea. But he is definitely worth more thanLescott, that is for sure

Just a few notes on comments above...

Firstly - I love Agger and want him to stay.

- The point about Lescott doesn't really hold any water i'm afraid. City went mental in the first 2 seasons, paying well over the odds, as the owners understood they would have to, to make the squad competitive. That spending has slowed down to a much more manageable scale now, so whoever thinks we'll get £35m plus off them for a 27 year old is wide of the mark i'm afraid.

Also, Lescott is English.

- Agger is 27, this will be his last big contract, his sell-on value will be minimal, so don't expect mega money, i personally think £20-22m is a good price.

- Agger has spent a HUGE portion of his time at Anfield on the bench.

- Can people please stop saying you can't buy players like Dan Agger for less than £20m? How much did we pay for Danny Agger, Skrtel? Hyppia?

- As far as being like Alonso in terms of influence, I agree, but you can't influence the team from the bench, Alonso was always fit and playing.

- I really hope we keep Agger and Skrtel but don't think some of this chat is rational?

- Lets hope if he goes we can sign Dempsey and a centre half with the funds?

Eddie

I think that the principle of moneyball is value for money. The idea is that you get in players that will do a job for less money. With this in mind we will continue to sell our brightest players (that will cost more) for much less exciting players , that statistically speaking do a job, but cost much less. If Agger goes we will bring in someone like Shawcross, because he is cheaper but statistically does a job. {Ed002's Note - Moneyball works on the basis of analysis of baseball statistics. The concept of "value foir money" predates moneyball by a several hundred years.}

Listen do not worry about agger not playing against Gomel br said its because he's injury prone

Hi Eds,

ed002 (I think) said Kjaer is under consideration, I was wondering why he is available from Roma?

I remember reading about his fall-out with the manager at Wolfsburg and Roma only signed him last summer (I think) so has something similar happened at Roma or are they willing to move him on for the a decent price?

Cheers,
ForzaRed {Ed007's Note - Simon Kjaer was only on loan at Roma, and the Italians decided against taking up their option of buying him. They have switched their attention to Michael Ciani from Bordeaux. Magath is keen for Kjaer to get his career back on track at Wolfsburg after their fall out but the player is not so keen on a reconciliation.}
