hello eds, most LFC fans are saying that we need a creative CM, from your knowledge what central midfielder are we most interested in? keep up the great work, thanks. {Ed002's Note - Badelj has attraced recent interest.}

And Benjamin Corgnet right Ed002?

AG {Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus, Liverpool and Aston Villa have apparently had folks watch Dijon's Corgnet recently but Newcastle are the only team I know to have been approached Dijon regarding a possible transfer.}

Ed 002, im confused not slating you are anything are uu saying maccas wrong about munain as uu said "were not interested"? cheers sam {Ed002's Note - The whole sentence reads "Manchester United were offered Muniain at 40M euros and were not interested." - I really think that is pretty clear.}

Hi ed's what are the chances of Rafa coming back imo he should never have been sacked yeah he made some bad signigns but he made some bloody good ones too.
Cheers YNWA
Greg. {Ed001's Note - none.}

Personal opinion... If Rafa was manager you all know most spanish players would like to play under him. Plus he has a crazy network in spain, he could get anyone he wants!

STB

I liked rafa but king kenny there now give him a chance ! It took old red nose how many years to get a trophy ?? Kenny did in one. Patience is a virtue , man city how many millions over 3 years what they win. 1.

We keep giving KK a chance, with the recent run any other managers would be getting pelters. This is the worst LFC team I have seen in 30 years. Changes needed.

Diggler {Ed001's Note - do you not watch the Souness team? I was there every week and it was far far worse than this.}

I was a big Rafa supporter, he made a very good team that was the most successful out of Europe's top elite over five years according to the Uefa stats.

He was a bit ropey in the league but he was so close to delivering the Prem that i think timing with the old owners going and new owners coming in was just plain unfortunate, especially on the back of all the lies Hicks and Gillette told, Rafa was able to keep the squad relatively competitive, i've got great memories of Rafa and his best 11 if that was ever decided? :) Pepe, Riise, Carra, Agger, Arbeloa, Mascherano, Xabi Alonso, Gerrard, Babel, Kuyt, Torres.

Rafa's gone. Long live the King! Kenny Dalglish is not in it for the money and that means a lot to me. He's Liverpool through and through and knows the club and what he wants and what is expected. In my opinion he showed massive balls stepping into the dugout after such a long time away. Especially with City and Chelsea with their spending power and how poor the squad was doing.

He risked a lot and last season saved our season and got us some pride back, it's been a tough old struggle this season but we stick together and weed out the crap and nurture the quality.

There is no quick fix, we've made a choice to go for youth and we've backed that choice and now need to be patient. Tottenham did it a few years back with Comolli, they spent lots on young players. Some crap some quality. But it takes time as painful as that is.

We saw some quality and got some silverware, that's progress. The performances in the league are down to the fact we are struggling to score, we backed Carroll and it's not worked, i'm sure we'll fix this in the Summer coming.

In reply Ed, you may have a point on Soness teams as I sat at Anfield watching them but to be honest there isnt much between that team and the current one. The team is a shambles and to be honest will never qualify for a champs league spot. This team is well off the mark.

Diggler

As a fellow liverpool fan i'm disappointed by the blinkered view that Kenny can do no wrong. We are 8th in the premier league, behind Everton.....spending 113 million, it's not acceptable for this football club. I will support Kenny rightfully until the end of the season, but if we fail in the FA cup and finish 8th in the premiership...the man has to be judged on his signings and ultimately his results. It's great to see fans backing our manager but not to the detriment of the club.

The stage is being set for a rafa comeback were targeting spanish players, kenny knows him very well, rafa wants 2 come Back 2 the premier league and is without the club...my personal opinion is when the season ends kennys guna step down and let rafa take the reigns kenny for 1 knows that rafa knows the club well n some of the players do it won't be any major changes ! DNS

No Rafa, no Houllier, no Evans, no Sounness, please.

Let's move on.

I personally think that Houllier last year was worse than this as well ed.

Nevada

Did anyone really question the signings in the summer? Yes we all raised our eyebrows at the sum of money paid for Carroll, however we still thought he would be a good signing.
We all thought that Henderson, Carroll, Adam and Downing had improved the squad.
Is this now Dalglish's fault that these players have not made their mark? I mean we have now seen Carroll miss some guilt edge chances. 6 yards from goal and he doesn't even hit the target! Is this KK fault?
I am not saying that Kenny has not made mistakes but I really feel that the players have let him down. We have seen LFC dominate matches this season, creating so many chances and yet Carroll, Kuyt, Downing, Henderson and Suarez have missed absolute sitters.
Look at Kuyt's chance yesterday against Villa in the first half. The players have got to step up to the mark, take responsibilty and start putting the ball in the net.

Eds,
Any interest in barrada from getafe?
Thank u {Ed002's Note - No.}

07 Apr 2012 20:40:58
Hey Eds, Any interest in Junior Hoilett from LFC? If so what chance is there in getting him? {Ed002's Note - I cannot speculate on chances of becoming interested but there is one right now.}

07 Apr 2012 20:20:55
hi eds, really hope macca s right about Soldado and Muniain, just the sort of players needed ,but my son has just informed me that man u are looking to buy Muniain along with Llorente and De marcos ,Any truth in this eds ,cheers ant. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United were offered Muniain at 40M euros and were not interested. They might be if the price were halved. Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player. De Marcos - perhaps at the right price.

Mate your son was on the bbc gossip column coz i also saw that but the source was caughtoffside, so ignore it. Its b****cks

Hi ed's. Is Jay Spearing going to stay at the club or will he be sold?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - I suspect he will stay for at least this coming window.}

The players being listed as options on transfer are just ridiculous. The only way star players would go to an underachieving club like ours is if the wages are ridiculous, which isn't the case. We need to scout for rising stars in the lower table teams and championship. For me, realistic and decent buys would be:

Victor Moses
Matt Phillips
Junior Hoillett and perhaps another center back.

These are realistic options that will improve our squad. Back to champions league ? Not a chance. I think we should be aiming for respectability right now, say top 6.

It would be nice to cash in on Carroll, Downing. But we won't get any cash for them, ditto Aquilani, whose star has also fallen in AC Milan where he is no longer regularly featuring.

Forget Ozil, Soldado, Lavezzi, etc. They are not even on our radar. Even with huge cash spent we still only landed average/below average players. Nobody wants to come to LFC anymore.

I think the owners should consult with Juventus, who were in a very similar predicament, yet have resurged. We should follow their tactics closely if we are to ever be a force again.

I will always cheer for LFC, and I am not bashing the team. I think we need to be realistic with our targets.

Realistic as in giving 35 mil for Carroll? I think people who have the same ideas as you, are destroying the club. Fans should demand top class players(at least one or two)...otherwise we are going to end up being mid table team for years, seeing how many teams develop with their rich owners.
FSG need to put the hand deep into the pocket and realistically they can do it. Yes we are losing money each year but I don't see us getting a + if we are not getting into the CL in the next few years and this is not going to happen without them trying to buy few top class players.
If they get Soldado and Muniain then I will see some real potentials of getting there. Otherwise with Phillips and Moses we are going to get lower and lower.
I will also cheer for LFC but realistically cheering only without getting results means zilch! And realistically no one is satisfied without meaningful trophies or good results.

You are not a true lfc fan! we demand the best and should only expect the best anything else doesnt make the grade. can i also add in kenny we trust!

With (so called) fans with this ambition who needs rivals!

WUM

I don't Moses is good enough.

Phillips and Hoillett would both be great additions, both young and powerful and can score from out wide. I'd like them both to offer competition for position.

From what i understand (which isn't a lot) Hoillett's contract would have to very competitive to tempt him to Liverpool and not to London which might be a problem.

Thats where downing, adam, henderson and carroll came from?

Agreed with the previous , I'd be happy if Phillips, Hoillet and even if Redmond came, we need to sort out the wings first and the fact is there all young and pacy something what we've missed in many a season ,

Do you want to see liverpool strugle to stay in the league we need quality can you not allready see what mediocre players do in the prem they turn you into a mediocre team

So when we sign these players we can look forward to the 2013-2014 season, in the championship

More average players who we expect will be the next messi

07 Apr 2012 19:22:35
Soldado's got a tough choice to make.

Stay in his home country and play for a Valencia team who will be in the CL next season.

or

Come to LFC and play for a mid-table team filled with mediocre players, led by a clueless manager who is in denials and thinks his signings are all class.

hmmmmmm. tough call.

So true.

Well we haven't been on top form this season and we are in need of a few players but to write the whole squad off as ''mediocre'' is simply stupid of you.

If we had mediocre players then the manager has done a brilliant job by winning silverware and a uefa place for next season.

But seeing as the general feel is of disappointment towards this season, it simple means the players have underperformed to the standards expected and that the manager has struggled to get the best out of his players.

Which i believe is a much fairer assessment of how this season has gone. But eH, it's just an opinion right!?

Ino valencia are in the champions league but there not very compeditive in it.... and we could probably offer him much higher wages than they could!!

JF LFC

Probably you guys should think beyond your small vessels and be positive for a while .Soldado is not getting as many games he wants at Valencia , so that is why he is looking beyond la liga

AJI

True in a way but with him and a few more we'd be in champions league so not a tough choice

A mid table team which is one the biggwst clubs in world football in addition to spending 130 million now I think that is Ambition

Or he could stay at a great club but they continually sell their best players

We could just aim for ameobi and get him but at least we are showing some clear intent to buy great players

Youre a muppet mate ... how about this saldado to come play for a club who will pay him more wages? an raise his popularity across Europe for him to get a start for spain one day. you dont no nothing up div so dont try slag kenny off if you dont even no why players sign for us get a grip an keep your mouth to yourself

Di Maria more realistic than Ozil? {Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

Liverpool need an Ozil more than Liverpool need a Di Maria in my opinion. Both genuine quality.

I see a lot of quality wingers in every league but not many Ozil's he's a can opener for defences and if Madrid oversee his talents then i hope to the skies that Liverpool pounce on his signature.

He's not scored many but he's still assisted 19 goals in 38 games all comps this season and got 5 goals, so he's very productive no matter what is said.

I hope he's not too comfortable with his mates Alintop and Sahin at Madrid not to prove himself in England with Liverpool.

Di Maria? Ozil? The rumours on this site are moranic non-sense. Might as well throw in Pele and Maradona. We are in 9th place in the premier league, took back door to get into euorpa league, have a crap team, and clueless manager. And to top it off, the weather in Liverpool is crap and madrid fabulous. Oh, and less money. I think we should start looking for houses for the lads.....

07 Apr 2012 18:34:57
strong rumours emerging from stoke that commolli will meet wolves representatives after the game to discuss matt jarvis. fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed?

Jeez you have low standards

Mate are you absolutely demented? yet another average player to add to the ranks.... learn your lesson from Adam and co! people like you should be locked up seriously.

Funny as Pulis has made attempts to attract Matt Javis to Stoke City and is willing to put Cameron Jerome into the deal.

^^^^ im with him.. its quality not quantity mate and we want players that we have to poach and beg an pay big bucks to get not players that the teams are off loadin because there going to be demoted an need to trim there wage bill... pluss wolvs have better players then jarvis if was going to get one fletcher or doyle are both better then jarvis

adamlfc

Me too... Finger crossed it WON'T happen!

Why some of the fans are always after the players from relegation strugglers? it seems they have not got their lessons from Adam.

Rofl this made me crack up. Seeing a fan so happy for a player that would make the LFC girls team lol.

Why would Stoke have any intel on Liverpool and Wolves and if they did have discussions it could be about the reserves, as Wovles manager was at villa park watching Villa reserves play Liverpool reserves. One of Eccleston, Ngoo, Sama, Wisdom, Mendy?

Yeah fingers crossed the discussions fail - the last thing we need is another mediocre English winger

Fadi

I like Jarvis. He does some thing that not too many £20million internatiinal left/right wingers called Downing do. He runs at defenders.
I think he is defiantly worth a shout. With Wolves favourites to be relegated, we could get him at a good price.
Look at what Notes does. He picks up championship players and makes them players. Its not always about star names. Oh, and for those who think Sterling is the next big thing, just watch him play.
Not good enough

07 Apr 2012 18:27:36
ed002 if kenny goes in the summer, who's likely candidates to take the position, o'neil is odds favourite and mourinho second, any idea? {Ed002's Note - I don't know right now.}

I would try for lohe ( spelling ) german manager

Purely food for thought (Possible KD's Replacement)
Source (bleacherreport)
1) Steve Clarke (Highl rated by Jose Mourinho)
2) AVB
3) Brendan Rodgers
4) Rafa

1. Louis Van Gaal
2. Frank Rijkaard
3. Rafael Benitez
3. Jose Murinho
4. AVB

Eds as Macca say we try to sign Soldado and Muniain.
But do you think in your opinion it's realistic that we will get them? {Ed002's Note - Realistically I think there is a chance that Soldado might make the move. I think Muniain would be harder to persuade.}

Harder to persuade, BUT POSSIBLE {Ed002's Note - Assuming Macca is correct, then they are targets. There is a significant difference between that and the players arriving and I would say that Muniain will probably not. Like the arrival of Messi and Ronaldo, it is of course "possible" if that keeps you happy.}

Muniain is very difficult because he is a Basque. Tell me one example of a Bilbao top player being sold for peanuts...And they don't care if they don't sell one.

Ed is it because bibao wont sell or is he likely to go elsewhere? thanks! {Ed002's Note - Muniain will have other options and I think the chances of a move to Liverpool are not great.}

But the advantage of liverpool is that we can offer him a guaranteed first team place, which barca, united or chelsea can't!
Eds? {Ed001's Note - nor can we, nor would we offer anyone a guaranteed first team place. No one should ever have that.}

07 Apr 2012 17:27:04
Eds is there any chance ozil will come to us at all?? Thanks buddy {Ed002's Note - I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.}

07 Apr 2012 17:06:44
Hi Eds,
When we hear of players we are interested in at this point of the season,is the ball actually rolling and talks have taken place or is it just wishful thinking.We could say that we will try and get Messi,but we all know it just aint gonna happen.Have you any indication to at what stage we are at.Many thanks. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware nothing has happened yet with regards to summer transfers. A few players were sounded out in January, though, so we would have some indication of those that are willing to join in the summer.}

For a poor season he still tops the assists in the spanish league

07 Apr 2012 16:10:05
Hi eds, great site. Just wondered if you could enlighten me on a little rumor i have heard. Steve Clarke was appointed assistant manager after the departure of Sammy, apparently this was all part of a plan in paving the way for the 'Special One' to come in this summer.
Have also heard like Macca, that we are interested in Solgado and Munian, but also heard we are looking at Balotelli and Ganso.
Anyone ells heard anything?
BigWelshDave {Ed002's Note - I think someone has been pulling your leg over Mourinho, Balotelli and Ganso.}

Utter bulls**t

Thats comical lol
LeeWils

Clarke was appointed days after Kenny in January 2011, Lee was still there until the end of the season

Hans

Why would mourinho leave semi final Madrid for the likes of Charlie Adam?

Mouriniho has said himself in a tv interview that there are only a few teams he would manage in the prem! Man u,tottenham & Everton? dont ask me why but thats what he said! he was also asked if he would ever consider liverpool! to which he replied no i will never manage liverpool " i have my reasons i just dont want to say!"

I had the same feeling about super mario but just a feelin i wouldnt call it a rumour lol

If mourinho is reading this, become even more of of a legend not the special one but just special come and manage a sleeping giant, the f,ans will get behind you .Dalglish has set the foundations come and build your history .2005 the hairs standing on the back of your neck,that can be you for ever YNWA.

Hand, I know Sammy was still there I just said he was appointed assistant after Sammy left. And I'm only reporting what Iv heard, this is a roumors site, not a deffinate gona happen site!! BigWelshDave

Mouriniho made those comments about never wanting to manage lfc when h+g owed the club. who could blame him!

07 Apr 2012 16:01:40
eds how strong is are intrest in soldado ? and who else have intrest in him and are we favourites to get him? {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

07 Apr 2012 15:57:44
are liverpool likely to step up their interest if there is any in van wolfswinkel (spelling) after he said a move to the prem would be a step up? Also do you still expect kuyt to go in the summer after he said he wanted to stay and fight for a place? {Ed002's Note - I was be surprised if Liverpool "step up" interest in any player simply because he says he would like to move to England. I suspect Kuyt will leave for assurances of first team football that Liverpool cannot provide.}

No plain and simple

07 Apr 2012 15:48:15
Ed's,in light of Macca's info on our 2 targets being srtikers/forwards,can we assume now (what we probably already knew) that we are going to try sell carroll in the summer? and what would be the minimum we will let him go for? great work on the site love it ynwa {Ed002's Note - I have explained that I would expect Carroll would be available in the summer. I don't think what Macca has said has any bearing of that. I would not want to suggest a minimum acceptable price.}

Cheers ed,i would be suprised if we got half what we paid for him but time will tell.keep up the great work.

07 Apr 2012 14:46:54
hi eds, just wondering if LFC's interest in matias suarez is still there? I only ask this because i havent seen any news or rumours about him in a while. ? cheers. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool along with Arsenal, Newscastle, Lazio and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez.}

07 Apr 2012 14:08:34
I can't see us getting either Soldado or Muniain. I just don't see them as realistic targets this year. I'm not sure either would come, even if we stumped up the money. I think we'd be better off chasing cheaper targets, with the potential to become class acts. My reasoning is that I'm concerned that if we continue throwing crazy money around trying to match the big spenders, we may end up like Leeds Utd.
Obviously we need to spend to compete, but I want us to be smarter in the market. For example, Soldado was bought by Valencia for £9m 2 years ago ffrom Getafe, and now will cost £25m. We often seem to do this in reverse (Andy carroll).
I'd like us to look for people who may be a little off the radar, and could be bought for reasonable prices.
Instead of Soldado and Muniain, i'd be going for the likes of Marin/Belhanda for the wide position, and upfront i'd like to see us go for Van Wolfswinkel or even Bas Dost from Heerenveen. Whoever it is we do buy, I just hope in 2 years their value has doubled rather than halved, or quartered, like in Carrolls case.

Mick D

I agree wholeheartedley with this post, however in reality i dont know if it is that simple, i think to a large degree this was rafa's transfer target with spanish players with mixed results and he got slated... it's a bit hit and miss... but i agree that it has to be our future strategy.. good call my friend.

07 Apr 2012 14:08:22
Questions- to macca or Ed

Now that soldado and munain have been confirmed, do you think that these players if we payed the right Ammount of money, would come to us. Have we began talking to them agreeing a fee? 25m for soldado has been told by edinator#2. But how much for munain? Still 40m? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

But lord macca has suggested otherwise !! Mmmmm who do you believe ??

Much love

Confirmed by who ? Some mysterious poster who has you hanging on every word .....get a grip !! 9th awaits now that is fact !

Much love

Last year Macca promised Benzema and Young. Just more rubbish.

Much love, what are you on about?

07 Apr 2012 13:57:51
Liverpool are likely to step up their interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, after the 23-year-old said that a move to England would be a 'step up' what do think Eds.
YNWA Jay Jay
{Ed002's Note - Unlikely but possible. Liverpool had the chance to buy him more than a year ago and decided not to. Sporting said they will talk to interested parties who offer 20M euros or more - about four times what they paid.}

07 Apr 2012 13:55:37
Ed002 i was wondering what would be the feeling be among chelsea fans to selling torres back to Liverpool could it be possible or do you think he will stay at chelsea i for one do not want him back but i want to know what chelsea fan think of him.
Thanks Eam
thanks to all the EDS for the job their doing. {Ed002's Note - The Chelsea fans won't care about it if he were to return to Liverpool.}

In terms of who is leaving, the majority consensus is that players such as Maxi and Kuyt will be shown the door.

I believe that there are some positives coming from these two departures.

Despite these two being good players at LFC, and I think it unfortunate Maxi is not allowed to show it enough, I think it shows the forward steps the club is making.

The wage bill will be greatly reduced and the younger players coming in should show more passion than as is being seen by most of the senior players at current.

On a final note I also believe that getting rid of Aqualani and Cole will be a great bonus as there wages are very high too...

It was very unfortunate aquilani couldn't adapt to life in england. Otherwise he would have been a fans favourite.

As for Cole, glad to see him leave. Past his best, and showing glimpse of class in the average french league does not mean he is good enough to play in the premier league.

Getting rid of these players only shows the club will not consider the money spent in the past. But only on long term rebuilding, which is nothing but a good thing. I look forward to see us challenge for every competition we're in in 3/4 years time.

Bit of positivity back on this site after maccas post.
So that's some good news, I myself am made up the club are chasing this calabre of players, I was a little worried.
I knew we would be bringing in a couple of players but I thought last summers huge spending was a one off.
It shows me the club are still moving in the right direction even though we have been moving the wrong direction in the league table recently. But like I posted last week, this years league campaign was over after the defeat to arsenal.
The form afterwards, athough awful, saddening and not acceptable is not really that important.
I really can't wait to see how our team will turn out after this summers signings.
If you slot in soldado, muniain and maybe de Jong. We look that much more threatening. Macca said we are after 5
players, if they are all as good as soldado and muniain then we have a great chance of getting that elusive champions league place.

MIKEY

The positivity will disappear if we don't win by two clear goals today!

dmedly

I was worried too Mikey and was a little fed up with all the negativity on the site, so i totally agree with you!

I know there's some of the Eds who don't rate him but watching James McClean today and in practically every match he has played in under Martin O'Neil, I think he would be a great addition for Liverpool, young, bags of potential,whips the ball into the box well and fee and wages would hardly break the bank.

Gman82

Good idea, he could replace henderson ( NOT )

I would rather have martin o neil

Do you not think giving a chance to sterling would be better?

Square tomato

I think Giving a chance to Sterling, Suso and the WHOLE Academy would be good along with buying James McClean. Why do you think Barca are so good, they have a good setup of experienced players with quality youth. Mind you that lad Cristian Tello can fit into any team in England with his quality!!....

07 Apr 2012 13:06:30
eds do you think we can get soldado,munain,ramirez and 2 other players like macca said, that would costa fortune {Ed002's Note - I think there is a long way to go right now. You need to remember that there is a big difference between having a player as a target and being able to sign them - does the player wish to move ... does his club wish to sell ... can a fee be agreed ... who else is interested ... and it goes on. There will be changes over the summer and consideration may be given to some of the reserve players stepping up as well. I can say what I know in terms of interest in players such as Soldado, Muniain and Ramirez, but to say whther or not they will arrive would be just opinion on my behalf.}

And your opinion is? {Ed002's Note - No.}

07 Apr 2012 12:57:25
Macca, cheers for giving us the names. I think those 2 would be top notch. I feel optimistic for the summer now we are lookin at quality players not Jarvis etc

Like they would want to come and play under kenny.

Jarvis is a great player and will be better at a big club like Liverpool

07 Apr 2012 12:45:24
Hi Ed001 do you expect the following players to still be in our squad next season: johnson,Maxi,kuyt,carragher, aurelio,cole,doni,brad jones.apart from these do you expect any other departures?
A special thank to Macca for providing the bit of info {Ed001's Note - possibly Jones, other than that there is a good chance they will go. Other than that it is players like Amoo out on loan that will go.}

Can you really see Carragher as a possible departure Ed001? I mean, I can't see him wanting to play for anyone else and his performances haven't been great this season so who would take him? He's been a terrific servant to Liverpool and I'd like him to remain at Anfield in some capacity. Possibly a player/coach role? Hasn't he done his UEFA B License already? I think we shoul provide him the opportunity to get his A License and then let him decide his future.

Jonny.

Hiya ed ....

With macca saying our targets are soldado and munian , would you say that signals the end to saurez then?

LAVERS {Ed002's Note - I don't see how they are related, sorry.}

....:............

I mean in regards to funds...
Munian will cost a fair bit and I cant see us using all our budget on 1 player.
So would we sell saurez to raise funds..

{Ed002's Note - I don't think that Liverpool's considerations have gone quite that far at this time.}

We wouldn't have to sell Suarez to make funds if we sell players like Maxi, Kuyt, Adam and Glenda (Johnson)that would make around 15m or so...

Hi eds just seen on the lfctv website that liverpool may be interested in van wolfswinkel. But i was wondering if there has been any interest in Huntelaar? He would seem a better prospect in my view and i think there was a little interest a while ago. Also what sort of price would he be valued at? Thanks Eds, keep up the good work!

Red Danders {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to hearing any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell as it is going well for him in Gelsenkirchen.}

Thanks Eds. I think that he is definately someone that liverpool should consider. He seems the perfect solution as he is a NO-NONSENSE striker. He has great techique with both feet and his head. He looks the type of striker that could perform in the prem. We need goalssss!!

It says it reproduced from todays media and it in no way has any effect on if they are going to buy the player or if they are even looking at him. they just put it on to fill room

Yer i'm just wondering. Because Huntelaar's quality. i dont mean wolfswinkel

Ed, Do you agree with Macca with Soldado and Munian, being our main targets? I'm just asking to see if you heard anything similar.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I would not doubt Macca's word that they two may be targets, but from my perspective I will stick with my position on each. And that remains for Soldado that Liverpool have certainly shown interest in the player, as have Milan and PSG. At about 25M euro or more Soldado would not be cheap but I think he would be a great option if he could be lured to Anfield. As for Muniain I suspect any sort of deal my be tougher to achieve. Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached and offered the player were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. As I have said previously, I can't see that they will get the price because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If he is available at say 20M euro, it will likely spark interest from others such as Malaga and Palermo who are looking for a wide player and are trying to persuade Arjen Robben to make the move to Sicily. Roma interest in Muniain is still there but the thought remains that perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona will be an option for the player.}

Hiya ed ....

With macca saying our targets are soldado and munian , would you say that signals the end to saurez then?

LAVERS {Ed002's Note - I don't see how they are related, sorry.}

Good afternoon Eds,

So if as Macca say's ,Soldado and Munian are targets surely we should make a move A.S.A.P as the Euro's are just around the corner and as we know prices for player's can sky rocket.

Thanks

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - We'll see.}

I don't see Soldado or Munian getting too many games for Spain personally. In terms of wing players they could choose from Pedro, Jesus Navas, David Silva, Iniesta and Santi Cazorla and Spain tend to play quite narrow anyway. Up front Soldado has more of a chance but there's still a lot of competition for places there (Villa could be back, Negredo, Torres, Llorente and Soldado all competing for what could end up being a sole striker's spot).

It's also unlikely that a playr will want to move before the Euros and risk his spot/interrupt his preperations for the tournament.

I am actually dissapointed at Macca's names, No I didn't expect Messi and Ronaldo nor I do think the 2 players are not good, just think at this moment they are too good especially Muniain for me at least unlikely I get the fear we may chase him all summer and will end up signing Matt Jarvis in the last moment

Ha are u for real? There too good? Glad ur not dealing with our transfers. These are exactly the type of players that a prestigious club like ours should be going for, we are Liverpool football club mate, world renowned not stoke city. Never mind all this we can't offer champions league football rubbish, there are plenty of top players who would love to be associated with playing for Liverpool, do u think if the likes of real Madrid, Barcelona, ac Milan, juventus or bayern were not in the champions league that people wouldn't want to play for them? Of course they would just like they would with Liverpool coz were just as big as them. Try setting your ambitions a little higher mate.

I just read the first sentance of the reply and have to say i agree totally with you...LFC should go all out for the best players, if we get rejected by one, chase another! We can't settel for average players, look what happened when we did...we are where we are because of that reason!

Ok forget the "too good" more like I can't see them coming sorry with the mess we are in unless we win the FA cup AND have a decent spell in the league

Christ sake, people complained when we signed the likes of Adam & Downing because they were'nt good enough for LFC. Now we've got people complaining because we're chasing top-class players like Muniain & Soldado? There really is no pleasing some muppets on here.

I think if we had sent out Carroll on loan in January it would have done some good, Especially to Swansea if they wanted him, they are playing great pass & move football, the way we want to play & the way Carroll would need to adopt. Swansea are really lacking a Striker who can made a difference. At a low profile club, away from at least some eyes, he really would have a chance to shine.

Yes, Suarez getting banned, we decided to stick with Carroll but whats the difference, Bellamy lead upfront instead of him. I think loaning Carroll out in January would have been worth, one thing we should had considered.

Remember Mario Gomez was in a similar situation & was sent out on loan to Stuggart, he returned on a high, a very different player.

With Carroll's actions on last Saturday after being substituted against Newcastle, and some people including high profile people within the club not happy with the way Andy is going on with, I doubt he will stay next season. A final nail to the coffin.

Bosco

Mario Gomez was never loaned back to Stuttgart.

Mario gomez was not loaned out to stuttgart

Carrol isn't good enough to start ahead of Graham

ed is it true that Dirk can leave for as little as one million to a foreign team this summer?surely this is nonsense...we'd be better off keeping him as a back up striker to give the likes of Morgan time before he can hopefully step up and take over that role!thanks... {Ed002's Note - I don't know any details of his contract but his value would not be significant and he will want to be concluding his career with regular first team football - which Liverpool will not be able to offer.}

07 Apr 2012 09:55:51
Everyone looking at the two possible La Liga targets, I would presume that one is Pedro, getting more and more linked by the day and look at the set up. He is struggling to cement himself in the team, it appears Tello will surpass him in the pecking order for next season, if he were to move to any other 'big' english club he would still be down the pecking order, but at Liverpool he would be a regular. He also has links with Rodolfo Borrell.
Now apart from Pedro I really wouldnt be too sure. Macca has said that someone has got it nailed on with them both, so you just need to search for Pedro from before his post on the 5th and see who mentions Pedro along with 1 other, I cant be bothered really but would like to assume it was between Munian (Highly Unlikely) Llorente (Also Highly Unlikely)
Just seen Macca's new post Solgado and Muniain, rubishes my Pedro link, haha and also my highly unlikely for Muniain. Perhaps Pedro will be an option if one of these two falls through, and obviously things may change come summer with the Euros and also with the likes of PSG, City, Chelsea, United with their masses of wealth becoming interested and pushing his value up.

Anfield Andy

It's apparently Soldado of Valencia and Tello of Barcelona and nothing to do with Pedro.

07 Apr 2012 09:47:56
Solgado or Soldado?

It was a typo, he did mean Roberto Soldado from Valencia

Daniel Rogers.

No he didn't mean Soldado, he meant Michel Salgado.

07 Apr 2012 09:24:41
Solgado is the number one target for striker.

This does not mean it will happen but it is who they want..

Also the second is Munian..

Again please do not shoot the messenger.

Things can change....

Cheers

Macca

Cheers Macca atleast there is intent I won't shoot you or the eds down for info that might not happen.

Square tomato

Fingers crossed Macca mate, thanks.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Cheers macca for the post ,does that mean kenny has a big budget to play with again? :):)

Thanks Macca

Even if we dont get these players its great to see that the club are aiming for two top quality players

Where do the club lie on suarez and kenny?

Mac

Please say you mean Soldado not that long haired fella at Rovers?

MattTheRed {Ed002's Note - It was a typo, he means Soldado.)

Cheers Macca, those two would give a new dimension to attacking prowess. Munian looks a real handful and soldado knows where the back of the net is.

Dirks Engine Room

Were these the 2?

I guess you mean Soldado macca mate, you gave me a tiny heart-attack by saying Solgado. haha thanks for the info mate

Cheers
Daniel Rogers.

Either would be a great signing

I would go fo the younger Munian

Thatracoonstolemybacon

I hope we get them both but im not sure we can.Players like these will want to play for clubs in the CL.

Red raj

Thank you Macca for the news

Do we stand a chance of getting them in?

Also, do you see Kenny believing that the job has become too big for him?

Fadi

Wow im stunned, i didnt think one of the players would be muniain just coz of his pricetag. Cheers macca mate :)
KiwiRed

They would be great signings but I'm not sure how realistic they are without CL.
I'm not disputing that they are targets its just that I think our chances would be pretty slim

Chris in Tamworth

Yeah! Cheers Macca everything crossed. A signal of intent.
Both great players.
JamieMk

Damn i thought it was soldado and ozil, hope we can get munian though!

JF LFC

I think this pretty much shows how we are doing everything "behind the closed doors". All the papers were talking about De Jong, Keita and Afellay, but instead we are chasing some cracking players.Ramirez,Muniain,Soldado.. This could be one nice summer..

Exactly the type of players we need to be looking towards if we are to make real progress. I know this doesn't mean we will get them but at least we know the direction and calibre of player we want. Good to hear, cheers macca lad.
Andy the red.

Question to eds or macca, surely muniain would be used as a second striker as sterling is starting to make the odd appearances on left. If muniain plays his usual left wing position, it will be a real blow to sterling, especially when muniain is only 2 years older. {Ed001's Note - he can also play on the right, as was mentioned prior to January when we showed interest in him, prior to him being offered to a number of clubs for 40m Euros.}

I think ed002 or ed001 said they won't get the 40million they wanted for muniain anyway.

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - both of us don't believe they will get that, so it could have been either or both!}

Thanks Macca for the Info,

So my info isn't too bad either,

On Munian would love to have him.

Armando

Macca, Solgado is the player who plays' for Blackburn once of Real Madrid, you mean Salado? {Ed019's Note - He means Soldado - the Valencia striker}

Ye ed001 I thought as much if we can get him for half that I would be happy.

Square tomato

They sound like the type of players Rafa would like to buy and manage ;P

-Shane.

If you would have asked me .i could have told you the same..as both clubs r looking to cash in..very good players but i bet we r not the only club to put bids in...knowing that players of this standered r available i would expect liverpool to show intrest

Two world class players especially Munian gonna be something special and we could potentially make a lot of money out of him by selling in years to come

Need to get them first though but finally players who are gonna fire you into the top 4 potentially

Jc

Yay, I guessed right when Macca first mentioned the 2.

AG

Hey Macca thanks for the tip off. Do you think that these players will be bid for without the sale of Saurez? It would be outstanding to have these guys as a front three!

I'd say they sound like Rafa Benitez targets......
hmm? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Macca and Rafa are one of the same? Sorry, I shouldn't let on.}

OR Comolli?

Thank you the info Macca! Your insight is always appreciated

K. Bennett

For all the idiots being anal about a silly typo, the ex Blackburn and real Madrid player wasn't Solgado he was Salgado

No chance

Cheers Macca for your info.

Hi Ed's/Macca,

Firstly, thanks Macca for the great insight on potential transfer plans and thoughts on Carroll, makes interesting reading.
I'm interested in knowing whether Sterling and Suso are real prospects for the first team squad next season? How are they currently progressing and are they players which the club view as good enough to make the step up to regular first team appearances going forward?
Personally hearing the stuff about Carroll and watching his lack of performance on the pitch (he's not alone, I include Downing, Hendo and Adam too) makes me more annoyed that we don't give these youngsters more of a chance, especially now our league season is well and truely over.

I know this is nothing significant but I told in January that someone close to Bahía Internacional (A Player Agency most notably representing Spanish Players) told me that Liverpool were close to signing a Spanish Player. Of course Liverpool have lots of interest in Spanish players its not something in the know. But after reading Macca's comments one player I am almost certain is Roberto Soldado. Whether he comes or not is another problem. But pretty sure Liverpool will make a real push for him in summer.

And the second one if I have to guess would say, Tello or Pedro (very possible if Suarez Leaves).

I would love Javi Martinez but a 40M asking price if not minimum 30-35M would definitely scare us away with reported interest from City.

Good luck for the Reds today. YNWA!
In Kenny I trust, eh well at least till the end of the season.

Armando

07 Apr 2012 09:08:01
Do you think Glen Johnston will be used in a deal for one of the la liga players?

07 Apr 2012 08:54:21
Ramairez is nailed on for 12million, Suarez and Coates have bugged up LFC to him and he will snub advances from Napoli to sign for us
Willo {Ed002's Note - So Coates is part of the decision making process for transfers now. Excellent.}

Ed you really need to read posts before you slate someone. What the guy is saying is that we had an interest along with others and Suarez and Coates have talked LFC up to help him choose us. {Ed002's Note - That is not how the transfer process works at all. It is BS.}

Just like Suarez talking Liverpool up to Coates didn't happen? He wasn't saying that players are in charge of transfers, obviously. {Ed002's Note - No, he was saying that Ramirez is nailed on to join Liverpool for 12 million (unknown currency) and that Suarez and Coates have "bugged up" (whater the hell that means) Liverpool and that Ramirez will snub Napoli to sign for Liverpool. Pick it apart however you want but it is complete and utter BS.}

I think he meant 'bigged up'

Is Ed002 having a bad day? I love reading your comments but it looks as if you're being deliberately offensive, arrogant and churlish to posters. We all know that the majority of comments are BS but without them there would be no website to entertain us. Hope you can sort out what's bugging you and that you get back to your witty best soon. {Ed002's Note - Thanks, you are very sweet to care so much.}

07 Apr 2012 05:31:43
So everyone had a go about it...
My guess would be Pedro and Soldado from la liga...
A player each from SeriA, Ligue1,Eredivise...

Thanks

I was speaking with a Geordie who new Bryan Robinson an he told him if ya can put money on Carroll to Chelsea an Torres to Liverpool he reckons it will happen

Ha ha ha ha ha

Robbo been drinking had he?

ha ha ha ha ha

Its 7:45pm here in Australia, I've had a few beers, but even I wouldn't dream that up...

Thats a good 1, it would not shock me either because no doubt they will want 1 of our players this year as they always do

I was talking online to a guy who knew someone who stood next to a guy who watched Pele in the 1970s. He claims that if you keep spreading rumours like that you will end up in one of those jackets that tie up at the back.

Who is Bryan ROBINSON btw?

07 Apr 2012 01:54:53
Eds, with the comments dalglish makes, for example "I won't walk away from Liverpool again" or "it will be hard to get Liverpool back to the top", he must be pretty sure that he won't get sacked and will be manager of LFC in the future.
Ed002 you said you suspect dalglish to leave in the summer.
Do you still think the same?
And what do you think mean this comments about his future?

{Ed002's Note - I am still of the opinion that there is a good chance that Dalglish will move aside for a new manager in the summer. As for his comments I don't see it changes anything.}

07 Apr 2012 01:48:10
surprised noone has mentioned keita as one of the la liga players hes abit more realistic than some and we need abit of experienced cover in midfield, i know he doesnt fit in with the youth policy but hes good and probably cheap, what do u think eds? he worth considering? {Ed002's Note - Keita makes little sense to me due to his age if nothing else, but rumours persist.}

07 Apr 2012 01:21:36
hey eds and ppls.

have we ever looked at gary gardner of aston villa ?seems like he is destined for a great future.

another player that seems pretty good prospect for us is graham burke the 18 year old from villa have we ever looked at him to join up with our youngsters?

and finally i don't know who we are even considering to provide ammunition on the wings but mathieu valbuena of marseille i think would be a good addition in 28 games he has 7 goals and 12 assists while operating in different midfield positions and his successful crossing per game is 2.4 with 58/189 being on target. I just what to know eds if u guys rate him and think it is possible for lfc.

thanks
marcus from trinidad!

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in the Aston Villa players but Valbuena was for sale over the summer last year and there was interest from several clubs, with Arsenal showing some interest the previous year - due to a enquiry via Jose Anigo that was pushed back at the time. There was also speculation in France that Arsenal would make an approach to Marseille to take Valbuena as a replacement for Nasri but that never happened. Right now the player is not looking to move and Marseille are not looking to sell unless a significant offer were made to tempt them. There is no interest from Liverpool.}

07 Apr 2012 01:01:27
Does anyone know if we're really after Pedro. And can anyone give a reason why he'd leave Barca?
Ed?

Harry5:)YNWA {Ed001's Note - he is not first choice, even with Villa out, that is the reason he might leave.}

Either Tello or Pedro will leave Barca this summer, and whichever one does we'll be trying for I suspect.

So ed do you see us maybe moving for him or do you think he's unattainable?
KiwiRed {Ed001's Note - I would expect us to gauge his interest in joining us, if interested to try and get him. Not sure if we would have a chance or not, it depends on if he is purely interested in regular first team football or not.}

Sorry forgot to add E Banega to the list!

Thanks

Hi eds and macca

Players that lfc are highly ineterested in currently are

G Ramirez
P Armero
Fernando Reges
J Martinez
L De Jong
J Hoilett
J Moutinho
R Soldado

Havent heard about Phillips but dont usually hear about British players

Looking at two youngsters as well one from Crewe and one from Dutch team Feyenoord
Not saying we're going to buy any of these just we're heavily scouting

Thanks

Mac
