Editor, vdv today said that he choose spurs because he liked harry, he sold tottenham to him and harry made a big impression on him! my point is how was this possible if the deal only got started with two hours left ?! he said liverpool made an offer but he chose spurs. you never said who you would of preferred out of vdv and j.cole {ed's note - He didn't say anything about who else made an offer though did he? He said he thinks there was interest, but that was all, so he was choosing Spurs over staying at Madrid until January. I don't believe the deal got started with just 2 hours left, my info is that Spurs had been chasing him for a while, it just took until then to convince him to sign. I am not sure it was so much a problem with a move to Spurs as a problem with him not wanting to leave Madrid, but he was told in no uncertain terms he was not wanted by Mourinho. That was when he decided to go with the offer that seemed best to him - Spurs.}

Two points I would like to add to this discussion:
1- VDV up to the last day of the window he was hoping united will come and get him, and he made many public statements about wanting to join them, and the puzzle how come they did not go for him, when they need a player like him.

2-We lfc did not put any bids for him, we did n't need him , in his position we have Gerrard, Cole, Meireles and Jovanovic can all play there . . hence the reason why aqua boy was loaned out to Juve
By the way I am not saying these players are better than vdv .

"
if i remember very well last year RBS made a statement regarding the re-financing by saying that they want to continue the good relation they have with the club by re-financing the loan and they made the statment around
2 months before, now from what i read i see like they are silent on the issue, what is happening ed? {ed's note - RBS are pushing for a sale to happen sooner rather than later, they are not going to comment and risk jeopardising that.}

"

I've seen few of these posts expecting the club or RBS or Mr B to came out and say something, and I am not sure what are they expected to say, Obviously there is no new development in the take over , and therefore nothing to say.
Come middle october I expect both Barcap and RBS to be fighting it out with their generosity and offering to loan the club what ever it needs.

Vdv only joined spurs because it was late on on deadline dat and he was desperate to get away so he went to the 1st club that made an offer to make sure it had time to go through .honestly even in the state lfc are in do you really think any player would join spurs over lfc its a no-brainer {ed's note - I am not sure about that, personally. He might well have chosen Champions League football with Spurs, given the choice, especially when added to the strange lure that London presents to people, despite it not being that nice a place to live.}

True red {ed's note - how do you know VDV chose Spurs over Liverpool? What he said was he thinks Liverpool were interested, which means there was no offer made for him to choose between. Otherwise he wouldn't think there was interest, he would know there was interest. He chose Spurs because they were the only team to make a definite offer, Sky just like to sensationalise thin

vdv has came out and said there was a late bid from Liverpool but he chose spurs because of harry wot a tool and i mean harry {ed's note - I watched the interview, he said he thinks there was some interest from Liverpool. He never once mentioned any other bids, just talked about there being 'some interest' from other clubs.}

After reading this article i do not think RBS will allow Mr H and Mr G to hang on for a fat profit after the october deadline day, i am sure everyone concerned knows that new owners need to be in place before this date!

RBS (LON:RBS) - the prime lender to Liverpool FC - is reportedly preparing to take control of the club in the absence of a new buyer.

RBS is owed £237m which is due for repayment on October the 6th.

The RBS position will put added pressure on a Liverpool FC management team that are already looking for a credible buyer.

The Telegraph reports this morning that Liverpool will spend the coming days conducting forensic investigations into the financing of the handful of "formal bids" submitted by contenders to buy the club.

Managing director Christian Purslo says that several formal offers to complete a takeover at the club had been received by last Thursday.

"We have a number of bids for the club and the board is going to take its time to examine those extremely carefully, " Purslow said.

"Our number one priority is to make sure we know what we would be getting into with any new owner. We take that deadly seriously.

"To know who they are, where the money is coming from, what their plans are and to establish that there is a real commitment for a very long-term stable and secure financial position for the club. Second to that priority - and it's a very close second - is to sell the club as soon as possible."

One thing is for certain though, and that is an end to the three-year tenure of owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett is nigh.

The Americans, who were not present at the board meeting held in London to assess the offers submitted, are believed to have attempted to refinance the £237 million of bank debt held with the RBS with a number of other banks as recently as June, though they were blocked by a legal challenge from their own board.

Hicks and Gillett retain a 100 per cent shareholding in the club but ceded management control to the Liverpool board as a condition of their last refinancing deal with RBS in April, after rejecting an offer to take a 40 per cent stake in the club from the New York-based private equity firm the Rhone Group.
it is so difficult trying to find factual info about the takeover! its a well guarded secret, i hope this article helps though!

{ed's note - I meant to say I would much rather have VDV than Joe Cole, but then I made it very clear I don't rate Cole and hoped he would not join Liverpool.}

what you say would fergie allow him to come back

believe - yes
unbelieve- no

the face man

Before you press your buttons remember this is the same Owen who did not give Rafa a chance and treated our Great Club like sh*t to orchestrate a move to Real Madrid. Never mind that he plays for MAN'URE (which is bad enough) but the way he treated our Great Club.

So you know what button i'll be pressing!

Taken from today's Guardian.

* Press Association
* guardian.co.uk, Monday 6 September 2010 13.30 BST

The club remains up for sale and despite a number of prospective consortium's linking themselves to a takeover, no genuine bid has yet been tabled.

Please everyone, stop with the takeover rumours as the ONLY time anyone knows anything for sure is when MB makes a statement. I for one trust this guy, as he has a huge reputation to protect, and mis-managing this process for such a huge global name will tarnish his reputation forever! Wont happen.

Anyway, moving on!. . . .

It looks like Dirk Kuyt is out for 6-8 weeks from what I've read. Ads insult to injury that we didn't accept Rafa's bid for him last month! !

Anyway, I hope Hodgson sees this as an opportunity to blood one of the youngsters on the wing - DAVID AMOO. There's only one way you get experience!

Hit believable if you agree.

Regarding:

"Good evening,
. . .
. . . . . . Gilchrist

This post/ statement isn't really telling us somthing we didn't already know!

The board are hopefully close or chose a preferred bidder. After all the October 6th deadline is getting closer day by day.

It sounds like Broughton's 1st interview he did with Claire Rourke of LFC.tv only Broughton didn't say we had chose a bidder or had bids on the table but look closely at this post and you'll see it's pretty much what Broughton said.

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. ED how many times has this been posted? And was it the same IP address everytime? {ed's note - I can't be 100% certain as one, or more, of the other editors might have dealt with it as well.}"

(Another Editor's Note: I dealt with this three times last night - one was posted the others were deleted as duplicates. I cannot even imagine anyone is going to believe it to be true.}

Good evening,

Just a quick note to thank all Liverpool fans for their patience during the the last few months while we have sifted through the various bids. As mentioned from the start, this process was never going to be played out publicly to avoid distortion by the media, but we are now pleased to anounce that a preffered bidder has been chosen by the board.

Details will be anounced very soon via a press conference and a member of the consortium will be in attendance to answer questions directly.

It has been a tough few months for us with the pressure of making the right decision weighing heavily on our shoulders. But we feel we have made the right decision by selecting a candidate who will move the club forward both on and off the pitch.

Thank you and don't foget, YNWA. .

I am pretty certain that anyone in such a high position would at least be able to spell:

announce not anounce
preferred not preffered
forget not foget

I am almost compelled to say that it is the worst spell that we have had this season.

Ed you know teams can still sign players on loan, do you think mario gomez could join us on loan with agreement to sign him permanently next summer?

i think its only teams in the championship and below that can still loan players in. {ed's note - I believe the same, as far as I am aware there is no separate loan window for transfers IN to EPL clubs.}

Who is Peter Gilchrist? He posted this with a very knowingly written statement. . If he is telling the truth then being a man on the inside stating his name is odd. If not then very cringe worthy.

A quick Google search suggests there are no Peter Gilchrists who are major players in Liverpool FC, BarCap or the investment world in general. I notive that the name was in inverted comments in the original post which would suggest it is a pseudonym.

Personally I reckon it is a load of bull unless and until I see something officially from the club.

Hi

Someone else claiming to be an insider to the sale of Liverpool FC.
I think it will soon be revealed that "Mr Gilchrist" is just another poser looking for attention. .

I would love the takeover to be completed ASAP.
But lets face it, those cowboys just don't wanna give an inch. .

Kinda quiet on this site today - Im almost not wasting company time reading it all day. .
