Hello Ed002, it's been a while. I hope you are doing well.

Seeing as you are around, I was wondering if you know of any Liverpool interest in Schalke's Sead Kolasinic? I remember there was some talk of the player last summer, but I think you mentioned that the player said he has no interest in a move to Liverpool. Seeing as he is out of contract in the summer, are you aware of any attempts from Liverpool to perhaps get the player on a pre-contract?

Additionally, with Sakho and Ilori expected to leave this January, and the likes of Lloyd Jones Maguire, Randall and perhaps Lucas all expected to leave in the summer, and with young Joe Gomez still being carefully introduced back into first team training following his injury, do you know of any centre backs Liverpool are keeping an eye out for?

{Ed002's Note - I am doing fine thanks. Previously of interest to Manchester United and Spurs, Roma, West Brom and Manchester City enquired after Schalke's Sead Kolasinac in the summer but the enquiries went nowhere. Wolfsburg, Chelsea and Liverpool also had watched toward the end of last season. West Ham and RBL have had him watched this season. Wolfsburg remain unclear on the future of Ricardo Rodriguez still and may turn again to the player if Schalke cannot agree and extension.

None of the centre backs you mention are part of the plans right now so I would expect Klopp to stick with what he has - which is four first team picks including Gomez and discounting Sakho. If he looks to another then they will be taking the position of someone who is not a likely starter at the club. If he brings in a potential first team starter then it would be the end for Gomez.}

If say, Sule came in and Sakho and Klavan left in d summer leaving us with Matip, Sule, Lovren and Gomez as our 1st choice centre halfs do you still think it would spell the end of Gomez?

Has anyone watched much of Süle?
I've seen a few matches and I'm not impressed.
Could someone please answer - what does he offer that Gomez doesn't?

Whats wrong with having both of them?, could be one of the top partnerships in Europe in a few years.

Ron, Sule is a Left sided centre back so he wouldn't be challenging Gomez for the position as Gomez would play on the right side. Sule is absolutely huge, his aerial ability is something that we need in our side. He's a real footballer too, his passing is incisive and penetrates the oppositions midfield line. He's also a great tackler and he reads the game very well which masks his one weakness his pace. I'd rather Van Dijk but I'd also be delighted with Sule.

Saw Sule play at the Olympics and he is a beast of a player, with very good aerial, passing, tackling and technical ability. Not saying he will sign but he's worth a shout and a much better upgrade than Van Dyke, who only looks like a good CB but when you watch him play, he's not much to write home about.
