Hi eds. Just a quick one, what do You think percentage is of us bidding for Ben arfa. My friend who has co tracts at the pool thinks best our next option. Opinion please! {Ed002's Note - Newcastle has done a fantastic job in sorting out Ben Arfa over the past 18 months. There was a time when it looked like Marseille were just going to give up on him. I recall my wife saying that Bursaspor offered to take him on loan and it was seriously considered before his moving to Newcastle. Arsenal and Schalke have shown an interest but in the unlikely event Newcastle were to make the player available this summer then I would think PSG would be the desired destination for Ben Arfa.}

Too injury prone

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you elaborate on sorting out? Was it mainly attitude and work ethic problems? {Ed002's Note - No, I don't want to get in to that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

PSG are welcome to him. Several Geordies I know say he is well off the boil and they don't care if he goes.

I've asked this question a hundred times, other fans have asked this question a thousand times but I'm afraid I'm going to have to do it again!
Why don't we just go and get Turan? {Ed002's Note - Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool back in the day but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. If Arda Turan were to move this summer the likely destinations are Turkey, England, Germany and Italy - with sustained interest from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player and from his former club Galatasaray. Atletico Madrid previously rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January and they would ideally like to keep him for at least another year.}

Believable3 Unbelievable9

I think I'm right in saying it wouldn't be too difficult to get him but BR appears not to want him.
I can't understand why personally

Agree1 Disagree1

BR wants a goal-scoring creative attacking mid. Turan doesn't score many.

At the end of the day, is he really THAT good?

I'd rather have a big money defender!

Agree1 Disagree1

I want a big money defender as well {Ed002's Note - If Sporting Lisbon get their way you will have one Chris.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah looks like you're right there Ed, has there been any progress made with that deal recently do you know? {Ed002's Note - There remains the gap in valuation.}

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree with you Chris every set piece last season had me behind the sofa sort the defence out and that gains us another 8 - 10 points already

Eds, any interest in Muniain?

RedKopite {Ed002's Note - Not as far as I am aware from Liverpool. I can see interest from several English clubs should be become available. Lyon, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma have sustained interest which may still be there but I could not see a cash deal involving Lyon as possible at this time. Rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest. It was thought an eventual move to Barcelona would happen, although his performances this past season have not been good at all and his temper has gotten the better of him again on more than one occasion. With his value dropping all of the time Athletic might well look to extending his contract.}

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Would rather have Muniain than Mkhitaryan.

Ed002, Any info on Liverpool inquiring about Hungarian winger Dzsuzak? Heard LFC officials have held talks with his agent.

Indian with a Red Heart {Ed002's Note - I suspect it is an old story being recycled, but Liverpool showed interest in Dzsudzsak whilst at PSV and again in January when the club enquired after a loan. More recently Inter, Schalke and Parma have shown an interest. It would certainly not be out of the question.}

Believable6 Unbelievable18

Don't want him

I notice the Mirror and Mail (I know, not held in high regard by many for reliability!) are saying Wilfried Bony's agent claims Liverpool have registered an interest in him. I would normally ignore it, but I remember Ed002 saying we had made an enquiry for Benteke a little while ago. With Villa placing a huge price on his head, it kind of makes sense that we might then consider Bony, who is probably cheaper and is pretty similar to Benteke. Just a thought anyway. Have you heard anything about this, Eds?

DP {Ed002's Note - Recently there been varying degrees of interest from Swansea, Marseille, Newcastle, Anzhi, West Ham, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but of these only Swansea have put a bid on the table that is close to being acceptable. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams if a deal cannot be done with Swansea - perhaps Liverpool and just possibly Napoli and Roma. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea. Whilst an offer was made by Newcastle in January, the player was wanting to see if there was serious interest from Russia and it is still not out of the question that Anzhi will come in with a significant bid. For now, it looks very likely that Swansea could win out.}

Will we be targeting Obi mikel or demba ba who both seem set to leave chelsea? {Ed002's Note - John Obi will probably complete a move to Turkey. Demba Ba is a risk due to problems with his knees and he is certainly not up to two games a week. He is pretty much uninsurable and it would take a low/free-ish transfer fee and wages at a minimum to make it viable in my view. I would think a move abroad beckons.}

Believable4 Unbelievable26

So is Chelseas transfer policy this summer to buy young players Ed? van Ginkel Schurrle? Or are they still looking to buy a player for a big fee?

Alex {Ed002's Note - Try the Chelsea page.}

Agree0 Disagree4

Yeah ed ba's knee is a real big problem. I don't want ba at LFC but i'm sick of hearing about this blokes knee.

Agree3 Disagree0

Mikel?! You must be having a laugh if you want him at Liverpool, clearly never watched him play :P

Agree4 Disagree0

Thanks eds

Agree0 Disagree3

I didn't say I wanted him I just asked if the club was targeting him :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want either. Ba should have stayed at Newcastle

Demba ba's injury most certainly didn't bother him last season for the jordies he was scoring for fun, I say he's wasted no the bench for Chelsea a risk worth taking I'd say

Hi eds and Macca, hope you are all good on this fine day, with hm going to bvb there is talk of eriksen but I heard we're looking at draxler of shalke have you heard anything I think he fits the br profile and would be cheaper than the other options {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Erikson interest. Both Milan clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another about Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier. There is nothing involving Liverpool in this.}

Believable5 Unbelievable9

06 Jul 2013 11:38:43
Hey eds, can I ask where are these reports that we have lost out on HM? I have not heard or seen anything saying we won't be going for him, or that Dortmund have signed him etc. Am I missing something here? {Ed002's Note - Nothing has been finalised at this time but right now it looks like it will happen. There is zero point in my trying to explain the detail today.}

Believable2 Unbelievable14

Do you still think we will sign him Eds? {Ed002's Note - See above.}

Agree0 Disagree1

According to today's Echo website.
the problem was Raiola. (Mkhitaryans agent ). He, s apparently the reason why the deal hasn't happened.
Probably wanted to big'a slice of the cake.looks like he, s eaten plenty though!

Looking like we have missed out on HK, we should now look at Thiago from Barca £15 mill, good attacking midfield player, scores goals, great technical ability, very creative and young

alan50 {Ed002's Note - And not moving to Liverpool. Three clubs have expressed an interest in addition to Barcelona wanting him to stay.}

Hi eds, before I ask the question I could guess that we have no interest. But I'm going to go ahead anyway. Do we or any pl club hold an interest in arda turan? I no it's an old story but he is a top player. Thanks.

13reds {Ed002's Note - Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool back in the day but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will almost certainly move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England, Germany and Italy with rapidly increasing interest from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January. There is an chance of a return to Turkey with Gala.}

I know we're all sick of hearing the name mkhitaryan, especially now he's off to Germany, but I was just wondering if anyone knows what may have gone wrong with this transfer? I personally can't see past Mr Ayre as once again it was a very long public transfer and seems to have been messing around over 1-2 million, I mean how does a player go from signing Liverpool shirts two weeks ago (I've seen the photos) to signing for somebody else? Granted champions league is a big draw but by all accounts he was our player to sign just over a week ago and we only needed to agree a fee! If it was Ayre its definitely time to replace him.

Benzo {Ed002's Note - This is simply the transfer process.}

Now that we've "missed out" on our "top transfer target, " expect a raft of new players linked with lfc in the next few days. I'd suspect people like Griezmann, Dzagoev, Feghouli, Eriksen, and Lamela to all be relinked, though I've already checked the search function (you're welcome eds), and please correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently none are of any significant interest.

Believable24 Unbelievable9

The problem our owners have is they don't want their fingers burnt again as they were under Dalglish an who could blame them. Fans best get use to loseing out on transfer targets as the mad money spent by Dalglish has ruined it for Rodgers.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not the case.it was suggested by a certain ED on here that all Liverpool had to do was meet the asking price.this turned out to be completely incorrect.the fee was net but the club were unable to talk to the player for agent reasons.the money was there rogers was backed. {Ed002's Note - No, you have clearly misunderstood what I have said, misunderstood something about the fee being "net", misunderstood what it takes to talk with a player - and failed to recognise that since day one I have explained that the fees related to his agent would be substantial.}

Agree0 Disagree2

I think the fact that you are trying to have a dig at me about pressing and instead of m shows I touched a nerve, so I guess it was you who basically said that all Liverpool had to do was meet the fee being asked.quick spell check then send.

Morning Eds, great site!

It seems that we have lost out on our marquee signing this summer (assuming Surarez is staying that is) - have LFC got any interest in Selçuk İnan from Galatassary? I remember they were keen last season on this player.

Is there any interest from any other clubs in any of our players? Reina, Agger, Skertyl, Downing, Spearing, Enrique?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray's Selcuk Inan has been interesting Rubin Kazan, Liverpool and Tavriya Simferopol since January - and whilst it was clear in January that nothing would be happening before the summer, AC Milan, Atletico Madid and Valencia are still looking to have discussions about the player. Gala has identified Alonso as a potential replacement but seemingly he is not keen on a move to Turkey. Ideally Galatasaray would like him to stay.}

What are Chelsea doing with KDB? He played really well for Bremen last year, consistently outperforming Schurrle who they have signed and now they sign this Ginkel player who occupies the same position.

Have to be honest and question where he will be, would absolutely love Liverpool to sign him if he wants to leave due to no game time.

Any interest from any team? I think I saw Dortmund were interested? {Ed002's Note - Dortmund and Leverkusen are interested in KDB but he is staying at Chelsea this coming season.}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I think you don't realise they have signed him (Van Ginkel) as a Lampard replacement. De Bruyne won't be joining us as much as I'd like it, he will play in that attacking 3 interchanging with Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Schürlle.
