I don’t see why it’s great news tbh mate. I like l other fans want to see the Ox back but want him back when he is fully fit. He won’t be able to play/ affect the games against Bayern and if we get past them maybe a cameo as sub at best.

My reply above sounds a bit off. What I meant was it would of been better to have him back earlier in the season to help our cause. It’s good he is included in the CL squad but as Ed’s has said don’t expect much more than a cameo towards end of season.

I was more aiming at its great to have him finally becoming fit and getting the chance to play again after a year out almost. I think its known all around that he isn't going to start matches and effect games ever matchday until the end of the season.

He will make his return in the final minutes of the champions league final scoring a last minute wonder goal, winning it for us to complete a tasty league/ champs league double. 👍.

I think we are reading too much into it. There was a free space in the squad after the likes of Clyne and Dom left. We had no other new players to be registered for the squad. Even if we didn’t know if Ox will play a part for the rest of the season, it is common sense to bring him into the squad. Doesn’t mean he is recovered, doesn’t mean he is play. Does mean it is at least possible he will play - so I Guess it is good news, but not amazing news or something.

It's great news for him. As a player who helped us get to the CL final last season only to miss it through injury, it'll mean the world to him that if we progress in the tournament this year, he might just get to play a small part in it. That'll be huge for his mentality as he tries to get fit.
