How Likely do you think Ron Robert Zieler and Guillermo Ochoa will be as options to replace Pepe Reina?
I'm sure they'd relish the chance to move from clubs fighting relegation in their divisions to Liverpool hoping to push for European Football over the next few years.
As much as I love Pepe if he wants to move on like Kuyt and Bellamy did then we shouldn't stop him.

Dont really think we should be looking at keepers playing for teams in relegation battles, they're obviously conceding lots of goals, we should probably aim a little higher!

Ajaccio aren't scoring, without Ochoa they wouldn't have survived last season

Ochoa playing again yet. He got done for using banned substances around the time of the Copa America/Gold cup didn't he?

If Liverpool truly have ambitions of reaching the top four and the ECL then the signings need to reflect that. A top class keeper and centre half are a must for next season.

Ochoa cannot play for a team in England because he needs special gloves as a result of having six fingers on his right hand. These gloves are against FA regulations and the reason he didn't join Fulham some years previously.

Ochoa would be a sensible replacement. Cheap yet good. he has wonderful relfexes. And we can get more fans in mexico.

You do realise the rumour Ochoa had six fingers was made up during Mexico's equivalent of April fools day. He did not move to Fulham as he was not guarenteed first team football, since then he has kept Ajaccio in the French Ligue 1

Ive been told talks are under way with deal for the legend that is 'Carra' to play for another season and then go into coaching role at the club.

We need people like him at the club. always plays for the shirt and true vocal leader!

He will be missed on the field in few years.

Anyway faith in Rodgers. we're progressing everytime we play and keep the chin up fellow kopites. We have been robbed in few games for 3 pts

How have we been robbed? We've conceded two many goals, not killed teamsd off, and made defensive blunders. This being the same defence that was the third best in the league last season.

I remember hyypia was at this stage of his career and the slightest mistake he made all you would hear is his legs were gone and he is finished carra is not finished and has at least another season as a squad man, but we need a top class centre half as I know carra will do a job for consistency we need a partner for agger pay top money for subotic imo. We were not robbed at all. We are not good enough throughout 90 minutes to beat the top 6 teams. I agree we can compete and make them sweat but we are yet to beat a team above us. I think we have improved but if we want top 4 then we need to change the way we play and bring in a new keeper and cb.

I think the results in the next 3 or 4 matches will show if we're improving every game. So far it's been frustrating. Continuously getting 1 or 2 good results and then a bad result.

Would any of the eds be able to tell me the current situation with Martin Kelly and if these rumours of him demanding more money are true? Personally see him as a future Liverpool star and ideal replacement for carra, be gutted if he left. Thanks in advance for all the hard work. {Ed001's Note - not so much demands as contract negotiations. Personally I expect him to sign in the summer, if all goes well with his rehab.}

He will sign as the ed said by the summer, I expect Kelly & Wisdom to be our Central Defence partnership for the future with McLaughlin & possible Robinson RB & LB.

IMO I think its all speculation, I think Liverpool will sign him up as soon as they no he is 100% fit and has no long term problems.

Hi ed bilboa defender out of contract in the summer apparently we are looking at him do you know if we have been wqtching him for possible bosman in the summer and do you think sturridge will be fit for the west brom game thanks in advance thanks for the hard work in hanuary can't imagine how busy you were {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of us watching him in a long time. I have no idea on Sturridge, until I know the results of his scan.}

Any ideas on cb targets? Amorbieta? Diakete? Popoduplous (the greek shalke player, unsure of name)? Howedes?
Cheers Eds simpply supperb job! {Ed001's Note - not sure yet, Diakite is pushing for interest, and Amorebieta will be on a free so that makes him a name floated about by the press. Right now though, it is far too easy to judge, though it does seem unlikely either of the freebies are of interest, you would expect us to make an offer by now if they were!}

Hi Ed001. wouldn't England have done a medical assessment before sending him back to us after he could not train with the other England squad members today? Just wondered because if he turned up and they then sent him back without assessment it would be a little silly as well as being a seriously flawed procedure. {Ed001's Note - they will have done so, just to check there really was an injury. They would be unlikely to want to do a scan, unless really necessary though.}

It was only a dead leg, he should be fit by West Brom and definitely for Swansea - he probably could have played for England but it wasn't really worthwhile for a friendly

Hi eds, great site, first time posting.

Is there genuine interest in Reina from barcelona/Atletico Madrid/any other clubs?

And given the apparent likelihood that skrtel and coates might be off in the summer and carra's age, have we been looking at any centre backs as replacements?

Tom {Ed001's Note - I am not sure how genuine the interest is, there is some but how much is just his dad and reps talking it up, well that is difficult to gauge. As for centre backs, yes, that seems to be the main priority for the summer, though it is still too early to say which players we are just taking a general look at and which are targets. Should get an idea over the next couple of months as we scout them repeatedly to take a closer look.}

Heard from Source today that Liverpool will be placing a bid in the summer for Christian Eriksen, Angelo Ogbonna & Bernd Leno (regardless of Pepe's situation). They all seemed like reasonable players for us to be looking at, however, when he then claimed that should we fail in our signing of Christian Eriksen we would look at getting Paulinho? Is there anything in that Ed's, He was right about Carroll, Suarez & Sturridge? However I can't see it happening because of competition with Chelsea & Inter Milan.

Now the January window has closed do you think between now and May we will look at maybe pre-contracting any players like Diakite, and is there anyone else out of contract who we may look at? Thanks for the constant info throughout January even if a few people moan.

A goalkeeper's job is first and foremost to keep the ball out of his net and not do crazy things. everthing else is second. including distribution

Heard today that next season the club are hoping to loan Andre Wisdom out. The plan is to loan him out to a Premier League.

Premier means "first" or "top" in the context of status or importance. So yes, I'd say there are multiple premier leagues.

Why would he leave madrid. he's a fixture in their lineup?

You can't play with 11 midfielders, you do actually need a goalkeeper and some defenders on the pitch.

Not to mention he'd be on very high wages. Not very practical.

a source of mine as told me stevie g currently mentoring young jack dunn as br has been impressed by dunn and would like to give him a few chances next season. he is an all round midfielder with great vision watched him a few times and this player is going to be big possibly the long term replacement for stevie g if he continues to progress

I could be wrong but I don't think jd has the pace to cut it in a top epl team, like I said I could be wrong.

Pelosi, adorjan or teixeira surely has to be before him he hasn't played a signal reserve game.

with that being said he is a different player to those I mentioned. teixeira will probably go out on loan (huge potential, club see's a role for him in the future when he matures say around 23yrs) the same with Adorjan and Pelosi.

Dunn is like a Rooney but a Rooney that knows his best position within the team is where he is required to do a lot of leg work. he can shoot equally with both feet, is fast and strong. can play ss, wide forward or RCM (to allow him to cut in a use his stronger foot).

I also noticed recently that Kris. Peterson has been moved from RWF to LWF.

Is Gerrard now the Liverpool manager?

it is almost certain Reina would be on the move come summer. What I wanted to ask is, is there a chance Jones will also be moved on and we go for 2 keepers?
and secondly are we scouting Ter stegen and Brend Leno?
as you seem to suggest we are while Ed002 is of the the opinion we aren't. {Ed001's Note - I don't know what will happen with Jones, he is happy to stay, so I think he will probably be kept as cover and one brought in. I know we have looked at Ter Stegen, not sure about Leno. I am not convinced Ter Stegen will be moved for, I think he is seen as too expensive an option, especially as Bayern are in the market to replace Neuer this summer. I fully expect the replacement to be Ter Stegen, he seems to be the one they want, though it is hard to be sure with the changes there. Certainly they have a much bigger pot of money to dip into, so any transfer battle with them would be fruitless.}

Probably a hot tip from a FIFA '10 game session, when the player was 27.

Moves are underway to strengthen the perceived weak areas of the team. A top class center half and a young keeper will both arrive from Germany in the summer. fees have already been agreed, but the selling clubs don't want this info to become public yet. James Rodriguez is interested in linking up with the fellow south Americans at anfield. the nailed on departures are common, knowledge reina, coates, skertel, downing, Carroll and spearing.

Is the young keeper Leno or ter Stegen?

I read an article that Rodgers wants Nevan Subotic of Dortmund. But it was just an article without any quotes from LFC manager or Dortmund player. So, for me that equates to paper gossip.
