Eds and reds,
Are Liverpool looking to sell Jonjo Shelvey to Stoke and buy James McCarthy from Wigan? {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

Believable9 Unbelievable16

Not good replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

Why sell Shelvey and buy James McCarthy?

if lfc sell Shelvey then BR needs to buy better quality.

I thought we stopped buying from lower divisions? Besides we should off load Allen and Carroll and maybe Skrtel before anyone else is considered.

What about EDS Chiriches defender who plays for Steaua Bucharest? Any chance LIVERPOOL transfer it in the summer {Ed002's Note - No.}

Afternoon Ed has there been any recent interest in Inan? {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray's Selcuk Inan has been interesting Rubin Kazan, Liverpool and Tavriya Simferopol and whilst it was clear in January that nothing would be happening before the summer, AC Milan, Atletico and Valencia are seeking discussions as early as possible. Gala has identified Alonso as a potential replacement.}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Ed do u think Liverpool will make a move for him? {Ed002's Note - I have told you what I know, anything more would be speculation.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazing, only teachers pet Chris manages to avoid the old 'try the search function' from Ed002.

Ozone {Ed002's Note - Well if he had then he would not of found that information. You really are an embarrassing little shit aren 't you.}

Hi eds,
are we interested in Howedes, Last season there were some romours linking us with him; I think he is one of the best CB in Bundes, and would be a realisitic target.

Also I want to know which clubs are interested in Muriel and in Vidra. Perhaps we are not interested in them, but both will do well at anfield; Muriel if suarez goes, and vidra as a good cover (he has a similar style to early owen's) {Ed002's Note - Howedes will not be moving this summer and there is no interest from Liverpool. The others have no interest from Liverpool but Muriel is a firm target of Atletico Madrid. Udinese has no interest in selling Vydra although they are aware of interest from Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City.}

Hello Eds,
1. do we have any interest in Milan Badelj?
He would be quite a good buy for midfield if we can't afford the likes of Wanyama, Capoue or Gonalons.

2. Also are we genuinely interested in signing Alberto Botia from Sevilla? {Ed002's Note - Badelj was looked at by Comolli and KD. Botia, I am not so sure.}

Eds - Any chance Scott Sinclair would be an option for BR? Used to play for him, wide player, young, british and available for around £6mil. {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Not another ex Swansea player

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking this. I would have sinclair over the player with only one foot (assaidi) who obviously isn't in rodgers plans.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Sinclair ticks a lot of boxes for BR and LFC, I see this move happening and also keeps the player is the same area so no big move

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't get off of man city's bench so why would we want him? He has no end product and doesn't appear to be able to beat a full back. Thanks but no thanks, one Stewart downing is enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have not really seen enough of Sinclair to know if he would be a risk, in my opinion.6m is not a lot for an established winger, but it is for someone who has struggled to break into first team action this season.
Personally I think he is a decent player and wouldn't mind having him if it was closer to the 4m mark (his price has surely declined whilst at City).
I would however rather see some Suso and Sterling given the opportunity to play ahead of bringing in a new face, especially considering that we have Downing and then Coutinho drifts out as well.

Hello

Is Inan of Galatasary likely to arrive in the Summer? Is there any update on Ince? These two players could really make a difference. Is there any interest from ANYONE for Carrol and Downing? I know West Ham are suppossed to be buying Andy but I suspect they have no real intention of actually doing it.

Believable2 Unbelievable15

Downing is not for sale

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2013 16:37:06
Haven't heard anything about him since last year but then again LFC always keep their cards close to their chest. I know he's getting older but would rather see Arda Turan fill that gap anyway. Gazz

Downing going nowhere

Hi ed/s
Have we ever held an interest in AC Roma's forward Pablo Osvaldo? He is a great player. Were we to lose Suarez in the summer I'd like this guy to come in. I know he has expressed a wish to play in England someday, and that Spurs were linked with him a while back. Thanks.
GALF {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

hi eds, just a question but why did the move fail last year for tello? I've just read your last two posts and I understand what you have said in it, just curious to why it didn't work, was it the player pulling out? or the club baulking at the demands from barca or player?

ben {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any failed move last year.}

Was probably me reading too much into the rumours, thanks for the reply!

I know it has only been a season or two since Jackson Martinez joined Porto. Kenny had scouts watching him but he decided not to go for him at the end.
Editors if I am not mistaken, Porto paid around £9mill to get his survives. do you think he is much more expensive now? I know you don't like mentioning figures but I wonder, is he as expensive as Hulk was or more around 20 mill? what is the financial status of porto? do you think they will sell him? any clubs interested?
many questions already :)

miccmak {Ed002's Note - Porto are prepared to cash in on Jackson Martinez with interest from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Galatasaray, Juventus and Barcelona. Porto will seek his full release clause of 40M euro but would likely need to settle for less. Two bids from Juventus were turned down.}

iam hearing that Chelsea have concrete interest in Xabi Alonso. I for one would be gutted to see him in a blue shirt. there is no doubt in my mind that if chosing between LFC and CFC that he'd easily pick us. do you think we'll move for him this summer eds? {Ed002's Note - The only confirmed interest that I am aware of at this time is from Galatasaray who see Alonso as a possible replacement for Inan.}

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Thanks eds I hope he wouldn't move to chelsea. I think all fellow reds would be gutted.

Alonso ain't a Torres

Any interest from other clubs for countinho? would hate to see him leave {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable1 Unbelievable20

I am sorry but that really is a silly message. We just bought him mate. Why on earth would we sell him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Every player has a price

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2013 15:21:57
Steady on son on thinking LFC would sell him just after 6 months and after all the talent and teamwork he's shown to be mostly in the starting XI he's here to stay and playout his contract and if we do well in future then i'm very sure LFC will want to extend it! Gazz

Agree0 Disagree0

He's only just signed

Agree0 Disagree0

Just arrived

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest here mate, Coutinho is our only player that is akin to the higher talents like Mario Gotze, Eriksen and Lucas Moura. It would be suidice to even dream of selling him!.

Jonas olson from West Brom linked to Liverpool 3.5million release clause instead of Ashley Williams what do you guys think

Believable10 Unbelievable49

Would be better value for money but a 3.5 million release clause? I thought QPR had a 5 million bid turned down in january.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 May 2013 18:56:52
Never understood what the fuss is about him. He's a poor player relative to his reputation. Struggles against pace and regularly undone by some fairly average strikers. Williams, Pearce - better by some margin and still possibly up to scratch.

Hi ed's do the club have any interest in barca's tello and thiago, both wonderful young talents. {Ed002's Note - General enquiries about the player's availability were made last summer by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. Discussions about loans of one type or another were raised by Valencia, Ajax, Benfica and Atletico Madrid - all of which came to nothing. Tello agreed a new contract in January which assures him that he will not be left in the B squad and with Sanchez and Villa leaving this summer he may well make the transition he desires. However, whilst there remains speculation that Arsenal and Liverpool could be interested it is hard to see Barcelona simply selling him on with the others leaving. If the situation is such that Barcelona decide to make an approach for Suarez, it is possible that Tello might be part of the negotiations. I don't see any chance of Thiago Alcantara moving to Liverpool this summer.}

Morning Eds,

Thought I'd share the good news!

Cristian Tello would be a fantastic signing IMO is there a chance we will see him at anfield next season? what price u think Eds? last season touted about £7m would a similar figure be for the summer?

Alves {Ed002's Note - General enquiries about the player's availability were made last summer by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. With QPR going down I think tarrabt or Remy would be a good singing who is intested in these players {Ed002's Note - If Taarabt leaves over the summer I suspect it will be to either PSG or sunnier climes nearer the Mediterranean. There has been previous interest from Italy, notably from Napoli and Milan. Remy may well move on at the end of the season and an enquiry is expected from Spurs. Inter see Remy as a cheap solution and have sought assistance from someone at Marseille to help persuade him to move from England, where he is apparently keen to stay. Any interest from other clubs, such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle at this time would seem to be no more than speculative.}

hi eds not a Liverpool question as such but do you think javier hernandez will be leaving utd this summer? if so I would love BR to try signing him would be a great addition even though a very slim chance we would get him {Ed002's Note - There is certainly a chance he will leave Manchester United - but to Liverpool - no.}

is there any interest about erik lamela he would be a great edition {Ed002's Note - Yes but not from Liverpool.}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Who is interested? {Ed002's Note - Manchester United were interested before he left River Plate. Manchester City have been looking at him this season and are looking for talks after putting two offers on the table. Roma has no interest in talking to them at this time. He also has horribly complex ownership issues and would need a work permit. One other English club were interested but stepped away because of these complexities.}

Hi ED002, I haven't been here in quite some time due to work, I hope all is doing well!

Quick couple of questions:-

J. Shelvey I believe has the potential to be a top player, is it possible for him to go out on loan to somebody like Cardiff? I feel this would give him the first team football he needs, and can come back more experienced! Really hope we don't get rid!

J. Spearing, any news on getting rid? Ok he has done well for Bolton. but it says it all, its Bolton, not LFC! I really hope he can be moved on.

Gutted to see Suarez get the ban, having said that its happened, its gone, time to move forward, still love him, love the work Rodgers is doing, slowly but surely we are progressing! I hope more people can agree!

Have a good day.
Don {Ed002's Note - (1) Sure, but I expect he will want to consider his long term options in the summer - one of which may be a permanent move to Stoke. (2) A similar situation to JonJonJo - but I think he will most likely go.}

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Thanks for the quick reply mate. Would be sad to see Jonjo leave but what will be will be!

Don

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be sad to see JonJo go but I will chip in for Spearings bus fare - Championship player. As for progress? I like the way the team is playing - what a great day I had out in Newcastle last weekend! But, we have won nothing, not got into Europe and could still finish behind the Blues. Progress for me is top four and a trophy. let's see real progress next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope Shelvey stays and fights for his place, Henderson was frozen out beginning of season but is now a regular and i'm sure Shelvey can also do the same, My only problem with Shelvey is he needs to make his mind up as weather he wants to be an attack minded player or more of a holding/central midfielder one as in games this season he has looked good when he plays deeper as he can tackle and is a very good passer of the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think shelvey has the potential to be class but its his attitude that's keeping him out IMO. All players make mistakes it's what they do to make a mend. henderson busts a gut to win back possession when losing the ball and shelvey doesn't. This is what he needs to add to his game and I'm sure he could have a big future for Liverpool or another premiership team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with both above, Henderson, I must admit I was one of his doubters! now, we must keep the lad. I think he fits into the team very well, and is improving all the time.

I understand what you are saying Redbart, totally understand you, unfortunately mate the Liverpool we once knew are no more, but I do believe we will continue building and get there again, it'll take time but it'll happen I hope. Everton I believe are one of them. a one hit wonder, can't see the positions been the same next year, i'm confident we can come above them!

Don

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono needs to learn 2 things.
1 if he's going to be an attacking mid, put away the easy chances.
2. If you're going to be a defensive mid, control/time your tackles

Agree0 Disagree0

Henderson is great. Shelvey not

Agree0 Disagree0

Shelvey signed a long term contract 5+years only last summer it would cost quite a bit to sign him.

Eds, any idea of Liverpool interest in Douglas of FC Twente? He is supposedly a free agent come summer.

Is the interest from Newcastle still there (was it ever there to begin with?)

Cheers, Love the site. {Ed002's Note - Reading, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Rubin Kazan and Ajax have all shown interest in Twente's Douglas in the recent past but Inter would like to take him for defensive cover whilst Spurs are considering if he would be suitable as a replacement for Gallas as an alternative to Alderweireld.}
