Ed001 do you expect the transfers in and out the club to pick up now the Final has been won? Any ideas or snippets from your end mate for the Full back cover and AM player?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - certainly now that the game is over the club will go to work, but nothing is coming out yet. Bit early though I do know we are looking for full-backs and have been scouting a lot of them.}

Cheers mate appreciate your reply. Any new names mate yet, I like the look of the guy from Ajax but not sure he is obtainable.

{Ed001's Note - him and Lala are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.}

Ed do you know what the situation with Lewis is for LB?

I know he has been discussed a lot but is he being given the opportunity to replace Moreno?

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - last I heard he was not seen as the answer.}

03 Jun 2019 15:59:34
Is that Noussair Mazraoui?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

03 Jun 2019 16:12:37
Any chance we’ll be looking at a cheap option like Alderweireld? Sorry if this has been asked already, I’m yet to scroll down.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - he is not a cheap option.}

Thanks Ed I guess he is only 19 so still very young!

Would be good for him to get some experience with 1st team football if he is not seen as ready yet.

{Ed001's Note - I expect he will go out on loan to be honest.}

Interesting that you said fullbacks and not fullback.

Obviously we need to consider a replacement for Moreno, who will be out of contract very soon, but perhaps we are considering an additional right back to compete with Trent and Gomez.

Would this mean Trent gets his chance in central midfield and Gomez at centre back more predominantly? I love seeing Trent at right back but I feel his skillset would be best served in the centre of the park, he has a great passing range, athletic, great work rate and stamina and a decent strike too. Gomez, if he can avoid these constant injuries, could be an important figure for years to come alongside Van Dijk.

Fingers crossed we identify the right players and spend wisely. Let's not forget that Keita has still to show his true qualities that served him so well in Germany. And Ox will be back, which will bring that offensive instinct in midfield which we have sorely lacked this season.

I’d love a sneaky Fabinho like transfer of sessegnon under our rivals noses.

Mango, why take a risk and move Trent from a position he is arguably the best in the world in at present and where he contributes so much to our team in an attacking sense, to midfield, where his crossing, which is his best attribute, would not be as easily utilised? The way we play, he's basically a right midfielder anyway. Plus, in the modern game, full backs are very important and a good full back is hard to come by, well certainly more difficult to find than a good midfielder.

Furthermore, there's no guarantee that he'd be as effective in midfield as he is at right back, given that he'd have less time on the ball in the midfield. If you look at things from a Liverpool perspective, rather than a Trent perspective, it makes even less sense, as we have an abundance of midfielders, most of whom are under the age of 30 and we need an attacking midfielder. It's Klopp's call but personally I'm strongly against this idea.

agreed lemuel, I would have thought that TAAs transition to the midfield happens over a number of seasons.

Still don't see why we'd push TAA into midfield when we have so many good players there but don't have a top quality right back. Seems a bit pointless.

It's not just Mango that views him long-term as a midfielder. LFC does as well, at least that's the status from a couple months ago.

Personally, I like him right where he is. I find it very hard to upgrade his spot (defensively it's possible, offensively good luck! ) and I also don't see how he brings more than what we already have to the midfield either.

Taa is excellent going forward, but defensively could be improved on.

Afternoon all,

I know this is a random name but I have searched the posts and can't find anything.

A German friend of a friend has told me that Liverpool have been monitoring Timothy Chandler's return from injury and that he is seen as an option who could cover both RB and LB.

I'll be honest but he's someone i've never heard of before so seems to obscure to just be paper talk.

Any truth in this Eds?

Cheers in advance.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest, and it would be enormously risky.}
