End of the saga for now anyways;

I did not leave Marseille (this weekend), I am with my family, but I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light… Liverpool’s interest exists, but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in. The window will be long. ” Fekir Agent.

Sounds like good old haggling over price to be paid. And reading between the lines (in my opinion) . His agent wants it sorted asap and Lfc and or Lyon president to get an agreement in place. I think it will happen just may take 1 or both parties to make a compromise.

Hate to say it but usually when potential Liverpool transfers take this turn, they don’t come to us. A lot of gamesmanship and public statements from agents bring more parties to the table and price inevitably goes up.
Someone will probably trump us in their offer and we will miss out.

But if we do, we’ll get someone else. :-)

Only a week ago we signed Fabinho, chill out guys. Concentrate on cheering england all the way to the last 16 then losing to egypt.

Lantern - Yes, possibly. But we've seen that once it takes one turn, it can just as easily take another turn. Prime example is what finally happened with VVD.

I think it’s pretty clear we reached out to him through his agent, he’s keen but we’re not the only interested parties and Lyon will not be rushed into a deal if they are able to drum up other interested parties and push up the price. I suspect we’ll get him in the end, but if not we’ll have someone else like Malcom, Dembele, Pulisic, Werner (all random names, not rumours) the club as identified as a plan B, C or D.

As long as we get in someone to strengthen the attacking 4 I’m OK as I think it’s almost as important to have cover for the wide forwards so if we end up with Dembele then I’d be very happy.

Patience boys, it’s all coming together.

Ed Aarons of the Guardian has just come out and said no medical for Fekir today. Lyon want €70m for the player and no agreement as of yet.

Dont know how realiable Aarons is but just passing it on.

It seems mad that news nowadays in papers is saying that rumour is not true.

Ed Aaron’s exact tweet starts with, “Liverpool said there is no truth . ”

He’s clearly spoken to someone at the club in an attempt to confirm the rumour as he hasn’t got a clue himself. The club respond by denying it - shock.

Why would the club confirm anything to a journalist before everything is wrapped up?

Keep the faith, Fekir will sign.

LFC are still locked in negotiations with Lyon over the transfer of Nabil Fekir, despite reports in France suggesting the forward would arrive for a medical at Anfield on Sunday. *The Independent *
It may happen but not anytime soon.

My brother who works in air traffic control says its unusual for a chartered jet to hang around for 3 days usually they have other jobs and its very expensive to keep a jet in a hangar for that length of time. Anyway his friend in security says there's a fleet of mercedes people carries due to meet it when it lands.

Fakir will be coming across the channel in a hovercraft straight up the Mersey and dropped off at the museum where he will taken by horse and cart to Stanley park where he first see the toffees ground only to announce oh la la what have I done then he will catch sight of the mighty Anfield which will have him begging to sign for the reds by 6 this evening.

Well actually what's happening is.

Liverpool have hired Eddie the Eagle for the day and he currently bombing down the Rhône-Alpes with Fekir strapped to his back aimed in the general direction of Melwood. Fingers crossed they'll make it in 1 piece boys. They were hoping to have Wayne 'Bouncy Castle'Rooney to soften the landing but unfortunately he is away.

Strange one. He was terrific for Nice a few seasons back which was good enough for PSG to splash the cash on him (which I thought was a poor move for both parties and so it proved to be) . He needs to be in a team where he's going to get games constantly and be the/ one of the main men. When he's had this he's generally been pretty good (Marseille, Newcastle and Nice) . I think hed be decent for them and of course its a downgrade but its not easy to upgrade on Fekir when you are Lyon.

I think PSG signed him on a Bosman.
