I read of interest in a young fullback who I have no idea about, Raphael Guerrero I think is his name. From the French league. Anything in it Ed?

Sorry Ed it may be my spelling but I couldn't find it.

I'd ratber we signed a gk bought ward back and sold both mignolet and bogdan then let ward and new gk compete for first choice gk.

Hi eds, any thing on this Emil Forsberg rumour? Looks nifty player in the mold of Delafeou ( everton kid from barca)

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - RBL's Emil Forsberg was a player that Claudio Ranieri tried to sign as Monaco manager and now as Leicester manager he has returned and will look for a deal in January. Previous interest of Liverpool dates from an attempt by Brendan Rodgers to purchase the player from Sundsvall when he first arrived at the club - but he opted for Assaidi. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool returning - if has it would cetainly spell the end of Markovic and perhaps someone else. Interest of PSV, Fiorentina and Lille existed when he was at Malmo but he made the move to RBL instead.

Try the search engine in the future.}

Eds how's it goin? Hope you had a nice xmas and new year. Just a question. Would you take back John jo shelvey? I think he has a range of passing that our midfielders don't have. Hendo comes close but imo shelvey can put it on a 6pence.
Thanks. Happy New year.

{Ed002's Note - The holidays were fine thanks. He won't be returning to Anfield but it is far from out of the question that Newcastle, Stoke, Norwich or West Ham will consider a bid for JonJonJo in January.}

Quite troublesome in training if Jamie Carragher was to be believed. Would leave a bit to much in a tackle.

Seems he is a disruptive influence at Swansea, hence not being in the squad for 2 out of the last 3 games. And in the 1 game he was in the squad, he was on the bench and only came on for the last couple of minutes.

I don't want him to return. He has 3 good games then will go missing for 10 or get sent off for something stupid. I'm just asking would u take him back as he is different to what we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no particular opinion on that. He was fun as a house guest for #WonderDogSparky and still brings flowers and chocolates when he visits.}

Morning Ed002

Just your opinion please mate on our goal keeping situation. Its obvious we have been keeping tabs on keepers but is it realistic we might bring one in this window? And is Ter Stegan possible or totally out of the question?

Believable0 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - The manager has said repeatedly that he is happy with the goalkeepers the club have at present and that he will not be buying another one in January. Who am I to question that?

There are a number of issues that would need to be considered in respect of ter Stegen: (a) Would Barcelona be willing to sell their long-term first choice goalkeeper? (b) Would ter Stegen be willing to drop down a level from playing in the Champions League with a reasonable chance of winning it? (c) There is a background issue at Barcelona that ter Stegen knows will be resolved in the coming months - will he want to see where he stands after that? (d) Would Liverpool be willing or even able to pay any asking price Barcelona put on the player even if they were willing to sell? (e) Barcelona would need to recruit a replacement they haven't been looking.

Right now Liverpool has certainly not approached Barcelona about the ter Stegen but, just perhaps, if Liverpool were to offer Coutinho in part exchange then a deal could be done for ter Stegen in the summer if the circumstances are right.

Perhaps Liverpool should look elsewhere and consider what to do in the summer?}

03 Jan 2016 12:59:55
Cheers for the reply ed. I think we should look in the summer and stick with what we have.

03 Jan 2016 13:06:37
We could have him on loan for six months. Then buy a keeper in summer and he return to Barcelona if he is wanted?

{Ed002's Note - Zero chance.}

03 Jan 2016 00:07:25
Eds, with Klopp having so much love for Mhyketarian (spelling) can you see us going for him in the summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - far too soon to say, but it seems highly unlikely.}

03 Jan 2016 05:49:23
Myk is too big a name now to be a Klopp signing. Maybe some lower profile unpolished gems like Michael Duris or Stanley Nka Ohawuchi sound more kloppo style.

With him bender, gundogan and hummels contracts ending in 2017 surely worth a try in the summer.

Gundogan is injury prone, and we don't need anyone else in the squad like that!
Hummels I would love us to sign, but he will probably move to Bayern or somewhere else.
Bender simply can't sign, because of his name, its a shocker and he would get ripped everywhere he went on Merseyside!

Agree2 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Mkhitaryan was of interest to Juventus over the summer but the player, who earlier in the year was unhappy in Germany, seems content right now and is likely to extend his contract. There has been no interest of Liverpool at all.

Gundogan was refusing to agree a new deal and Dortmund were willing to let him leave this past summer as he was seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self. Clubs were interested, including Manchester United and Manchester City, but an approach about his availability was responded to that a three year extension has been agreed between the club and player and details are being finalised. However, he then again refused to sign the contract and all he was prepared to do was to sign an extension until 2017. Dortmund are pretty much done with him - he was expected to leave this past summer and they had already a replacement in place. Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have all been interested to some extent or other. Barcelona may still be interested but they are certainly not pushing right now. Manchester City and Arsenal walked away over concerns about sustained fitness and form against price - they will likely see the risk as still too high. Manchester United may continue to show interest but will only bite at the right price - and the player may have reservations about opportunities at Old Trafford. Cannot be discounted. Bayern Munich failed with an offer of Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan in the summer - and a second one including Højbjerg as part of the deal. Dortmund would rather not sell to Bayern. If he is to move soon then Juventus and, just possibly, Barcelona seem the most viable destinations. If he is to move in the summer, both of the Manchester clubs can be added to that group. Right now there has been no interest of Liverpool.

Mats Hummels will be a target for Manchester United in the summer and may also be wanted by Juventus. Arsenal's interest has seemingly gone for now - and whilst I doubt it will return there does remain a chance that M. Wenger will look to adding experience to his defence. Interest may arise in Spain. There has been no interest of Liverpool at all but don't be surprised by a move from Liverpool for another Dortmund centre back.

Spurs had sustained interest in Sven Bender that Dortmund pretty much ended for good this past summer with a firm "not for sale" placed in front of him. Dortmund will look to extending his contract and Spurs will look to their targets. There has been no interest of Liverpool at all.

Whether or not everyone on Merseyside is a homophobe, as the poster suggest, or not is not something I wish to comment on.}

But what about Lars Bender?
