Eds I see that Tello is still Lear favourite to sign with us with at odds of 1/3 . I know it's Sky and yes I know odds can be way off but surely it means something? I thought we had put these rumours to bed again for another transfer window at least?.

Believable20 Unbelievable40

Barca will not allow Tello to leave in this transfer window so unless they have a change of heart he won't be joining anytime soon.

As a man who works in betting, s transfer odds are fueled by their own websites rumours. They have no model or insider information that makes them price it, but non the less make money from people betting on what they hear on twitter/their own website.

Liverpool, Aresenal and Tottenham all been put on alert after Salomon Kalou spoke about his wish to return to the EPL.
Kalou has a £2.5m buy out in his contract which makes appeal to all 3 clubs for a squad player with proven premier league experience.
I am not sure about the player myself, but if he does come to us I am sure BR will be able to utilize him to his best abilities.

Believable8 Unbelievable78

I hope not, he 's terrible.

Agree5 Disagree0

He should be called Solomon I haven't got a clue

Agree1 Disagree1

This story is bull openly made up by dom campbell on twitter to see how many ppl/papers would run the story, lots have

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind at all if we signed Kalou for a nominal fee of course.

I know this is from (probably trying to drum up some betting on a non starter, as they do to try and make money), but they have us as favourites to sign Tello in Jan. Does this have any legs or just drumming up money.

Ed001, probably a difficult one to answer but do you think Rossiter will play some part v Oldham? Perhaps even start?

Lets hope Salah signs!

Thanks for the great work

Believable21 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - he is supposed to be playing, meant to be starting.}

Exciting, hope the lad does well so we can stop shouting for a new DM/CM :-)

Cheers

Agree1 Disagree0

To soon ed1? Or do you think he is ready?

Agree1 Disagree1

No doubt he's our biggest prospect but I fear he'll get bullied physically. he struggles with the physical side of things for the u21's. hope the other aspects to his game come to the fore. best prospect since gerrard? i'd go as far as saying a future Liverpool captain

Agree1 Disagree0

To soon ed1? Or do you think he is ready?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is there any other suprise inclusions eds

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sorry MightyReds, I think he is ready for a run out, I just hope it is correct that he is getting one. As for other surprise inclusions, depends on what you call a surprise! It does look like the defence will be fairly experienced, with Toure and Kelly set to feature. It also appears Gerrard is going to get a start, probably because the rest of the midfield need a rest. Mind it is still a couple of days off, so injury niggles or simply a change of heart could change those.}

Is it true that Salah is off to Atletico Madrid

Believable18 Unbelievable55

Just wondered if anyone else has heard the same

Agree0 Disagree1

I will take an educated guess so I hear arsenal have put a bid in for costa and bid has triggerd the release clause for diego costa so I asume the rumor has come from that. which means madrid have bid for salah but I don't think the arsenal bid is true just speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't tell me --- The release clause is £32 Million + £1.

Agree3 Disagree0

Athletics Madrid?. Wtf? Eds what's happening please with Salah and all these different stories that keep getting dragged up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is what I said.}

If Atletico take Salah maybe Turan will be moved on. Feeling there's something here with Turan he was a target of ours right? Or was he linked for supporting the club. either way he plays hard and technically could be a better winger than Salah. Ynwa

Hopefully go some way to easing the RTP and RTFP's we all expect just read this and don't keep asking the same questions about the same players. Y.N.W.A

Alberto Moreno(Sevilla): Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely that Alberto Moreno will be sold in the January transfer window. The full release clause for Spanish clubs is being asked by Sevilla and that has so far put off interest from Chelsea, Cardiff, Spurs and Real Madrid. Manchester United also had him looked at but will take it no further.
Ryan Bertrand(Chelsea): Ed001's Note - we did enquire, but so far that is as far as it has gone.
Fabio Coentrao(Real Madrid): Ed001's Note - yes he is available for transfer, but it is unlikely we will be in the running, though maybe a loan could be good for all parties? I have heard of no interest from us though.

Yann M'Vila(Rubin): Ed002's Note - Nothing new; M'Vila remains of interest to Napoli and Everton.
Jordy Clasie(Feyenoord): Feyenoord's Clasie remains a target for Fiorentina but a January move is very unlikely.
Xabi Alonso(Real Madrid): I really don't see a move to Liverpool happening in January. I see Alonso's options as a short-term contract in Madrid, Galatasaray (I can't see him moving there but there is interest), New York Red Bulls, Colorado Rapids or LA Galaxy (all possible) and finally Real Sociedad (in the future perhaps). I can't say the most likely thing to happen but I could give an opinion that he will stay to the summer and perhaps one more year in Madrid, move to the MLS (maybe the NY Red Bulls) and then return to Spain to end his career with Real Sociedad. Juventus is keeping a watching brief.
Blaise Matuidi(PSG): Napoli, Juventus, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid would like to take Matuidi for free when his contract expires at the end of June 2014 - but I suspect either a new deal will be signed once his old and new agent stop bickering, or that a decent sized bid will be made to take him to London or Naples in January.
Michael Essien(Chelsea): Essien was once a fantastic powerhouse midfielder, though a bit rash, but injuries have robbed him of most of his power and pace. Not worth a punt any more, he needs to go to a slower league, he just can't hack it in the Prem against the top sides.
Ivan Rakitic(Sevilla): The long term interest in Rakitic is from Lazio where he was expected to move in the summer. Personally I do not see him moving in January but Chelsea, Manchester United, Lazio and perhaps Liverpool would be interested if he were available at a sensible price

Lucas Moura(PSG): Moura was looking to return to Sao Paulo on loan and there is a deal being tabled that might well suit all three parties - although PSG are not so sure it will suit them as discussions have dragged on. Juventus has a declared interest if he becomes available. Inter are fearful of having a difficult window and may also look to get an early loan bid in. If Menez were to Leave Lucas Moura would stay until at least the summer.
Hulk(Zenit): Ed001's Note - he is on massive wages and is not very good. He is in no way a target for us anyway.
Pedro(Barcelona): Ed002's Note - The only interest that I am aware of is from PSG who were also interested in the summer.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - just a quick one, Madrid have asked Coentrao to stay until the summer, so his availability might have changed.}

Ok Cheers Ed001, I will try to provide an update similar to this about once a week during this transfer window, hopefully leaving less work for you guys and meaning people won't need to keep asking after the same player day in day out!
Jack!

All the best Eds, Jan = Coentrao, Salah and Benega! Bertrand and Montoya will stay at there clubs!

Cheers PDLFC

Believable7 Unbelievable26

If true then great but i'd be happy with just Salah and Banega, we don't need Coentrao as we have Cissokho with Flanagan to come back soon and Enrique will also be coming back in around 2-3 weeks.

The vibe from the club, according to my source, is that Salah will sign. This may explain Rodgers' press conference absence (not confirmed).

Great signing if and when it goes through, now for a WB or 2 & a DM/CM.

A front 3 of Salah, Sturridge & Suarez will destroy all EPL back fours, so much pace and trickery!

Believable23 Unbelievable16

Yup a front three of SSS and Coutinho behind is mouth watering!

Believable14 Unbelievable51

Okay so we expect a bid from Napoli. So what? Tranmere could bid for Agger but why the hell would we sell him to anyone? Sakho injured and Toure needed to cover for an injured Johnson. Does it need repeating that the squad is stretched wafer thin so we cannot let first team squad players go anywhere.

Agree1 Disagree1

Where does it say we will accept the bid?
I am just telling you that Napoli are preparing a bid and will make it in the next 72 hours.
What we do with it is up to us!

I have been led to believe that Bertrand is not on the cards. It is thought the most likely outcome is that he will go to Everton to replace Baines who will go to the Mancs. There is some strength in the rumour regarding the Croat Ratikic but again the belief is he will prefer PSG

hi eds, The South Wales Evening Post reporting that Swansea would like to sign Sterling on loan if Liverpool sign Saleh this January. Surely with Sterling playing really well again it would be madness to let him go out on loan. Or is this the usual South Wales Evening Post rubbish

Sterling to go out on loan.
Maybe to swansea.

Believable12 Unbelievable37

I really hope not he's doing more than fine just where he is!

Agree2 Disagree1

Eds, is there any truth to these rumours or is it simply recycled? Stirling is in cracking form at the moment so I would be surprised to see him go out on loan.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Certainly Swansea have made it clear they would like to take him on loan. Whether or not Liverpool would agree is a different matter.}

The problem is that Rodgers has said that januar transfer are to improve the start 11, and at this point it seems likely that Salah will become a Liverpool player. Since both are playing the same position (right wing), I think it would reduce the amount of minutes Sterling would get on the pitch.
I would rather see Sterling stay, and send Aspas on loan, because he needs to be played every week. Perhaps Sterling could play as left winger?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jan 2014 11:30:40
I hope he doesn't he's doing well i'd hang on to him

Agree1 Disagree1

Not a snowball's chance in hell of Stirling going anywhere. Our squad is paper thin due to injuries and with 5th rate players like Iago Apsas having to be drafted in to perform miserably and at this point you're trying to tell me we'll let a skilled player go out on loan? Rubbish.

Agree3 Disagree1

Rather hang on to him, we're struggling with injuries as we are and still have the FA Cup to play in too! I'm sure Raheem would prefer to stay too.

Agree1 Disagree0

Total BS!

Agree0 Disagree0

Journo's putting 2+2 together and getting 5.
I am sure Swansea (and numerous others would like to loan the player) but we would be mad to allow him to go with the squad as thin as it is at the minute.

Eds any clubs looked at Jordy Clasie? Not sure how he progressed but he was a defensive midfield prospect a while back. Cheers, good work, and here's to fruitful new year.

Believable2 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Clasie remains a target for Fiorentina but a January move is very unlikely.}

Clasie is not good AT ALL. I live in holland, I see him every week he has not progressed one bit since 2011. in fact he got worse. I know we won't go for him and i'm glad we won't

I heard Claise described as ''the Dutch version of Lee Cattermole'' I couldn't help but laugh when I read that.
