Ed do you know if we want Guillaume Hoarau and if so how close is a deal? Or is it Everton that want him? {Ed002's Note - Give the search function a whirl.}

03 Jan 2013 23:24:43
Well eds and reds

Maybe am looking to deep but I taught it strange sturridge didn't take #9 as it has been striped of Carroll Danny Wilson the only player on loan that still has a squad number. Is it the case that we are holding # 9 for a player that might request it for example Torres always wears it ( not saying its Torres just an example) with the rumours hitting about gameiro he is #9 at PSG.

Any taught
Cheers

Paul ynwa {Ed002's Note - It is bound to be Torres - that is the word on the street.}

Sarcasm ed or is that really somthing thats on the cards ?

Ed002, you are getting flippant awfully early in the window, cant wait to see your reply's on the 29th. {Ed002's Note - So you don't expect Torres to return?}

Ed002, I'm taking your comment to be "dry wit", but you're not normally given to sarcasm, so Torres? Really?

Otherwise, who do you suppose may be the big signing being talked about? Will it be a #9? I know you're not given to speculative comments, but today might be our day? Please? {Ed002's Note - The "big" signing? Not so sure of that. If Gameiro arrives, which I remain unconvinced about given he doesn't want to move and Liverpool enquired about a different PSG player, I cannot imaging he would be anything other than a squad player. The Liverpool fans have now vandalised the Wikipedia page to such an extent the I am sure they have him being born in Albert Dock and joining Liverpool at the age of 4. Whilst the owners are being supportive it is clear that money is limited. My gut feeling was one on loan and Ince in addition to Sturridge and I will stick with that for now. I think the summer will be different and I do see some rejigging of the defence and the addition of one or two players who could be a lot more influential than perhaps their lack of a high-profile would suggest. But equally, there might be a departure or two which will not be that easy to take.}

What do you mean here ed002? are we after torres or are you being sarcastic? cheers {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were after Sturridge - and bought him.}

As usual on this site a reader asks a genuine question and get a sarcastic respose from Ed002. Very ignorant in my opinion. {Ed002's Note - No it was a dumb question about a shirt number. You of course remain one of the ignorant motherf*ckers who constantly abuses the editors. An embarrassment to Liverpool fans everywhere.}

"Departure or two which will not be easy to take".

can i guess maybe you mean Suarez and Reina a big possibility of leaving?
Matt {Ed002's Note - We'll see Matt.}

By a departure or two, I presume you are referring to a Mr Suarez? I know the summer is a long time away but you seem to think he will leave (I've gauged this not from just this reply), what do you think about his situation? {Ed002's Note - I think decisions will need to be made.}

Ha ha Ed02, certainly my favourite Ed (sorry to others).
Holy cow, we are signing Torres! Cool!
That's sarcasm by the way!

Ed do you think that the Suarez situation is massively dependent on whether we get top 4? I know the summer is a long way off. Even though he is a player who clearly should be playing at the very top level and challenging for trophies, he genuinely looks really happy here and he had the opportunity to leave in the summer - I mean i'm sure he didn't expect us to be challenging for the title when he signed that new contract? Mr.Singh {Ed002's Note - It will certainly influence matters.}

04 Jan 2013 03:21:00
Oh come on guys give Ed2 a break, the Eds do a great job on this site and get little thanks given the number of posts they have to get through...especially at this time of the year when they have to repeatedly state that certain players that keep cropping up will not be joining, then only to get abuse because it's not what supporters want to hear! Ed2 doesn't decide who LFC want to sign, or how much money BR will have, but he is good enough to give us an honest report of what he knows, sometimes with an opinion as well (which most of us would like more of, but he doesn't do because he will get yet more abuse!). Sure we've all fallen victim to a sarcastic remark or two, or got an answer we don't want to hear, but we all love the site and it wouldn't operate without the Eds working their asses off to keep it updated! If we all took the time to use the search function once in a while, it would save the repetitive posts and the Eds some abuse - shirt numbers have been covered hundreds of times today! More to the point why would BR save the holy grail number 9 for a player who will demand to have it and throw a tantrum if they cant? It's a number! And more to the point it's still AC's number and he could still be with us next season!

Clearly then one of the 2 May be Saurez, but he doesn't play in the back 4... So Skrtl or Agger then?

Who are the 2 not-so-high profile additions we may look at in the summer? Any ideas on the in bound loan signing?

Ta for replying to my earlier question.

The thing with Suarez, if I'm not mistaken is that although he signed a new contract, the actual contents of that contract were never made public. Am I right? If so, there may well be a clause in there in which he will be allowed to leave if say we don't get into the top 4 this season.

Ed002, you may not get everything right (nobody is perfect), but you come close to it. Love your responses !! Nearly19

04 Jan 2013 14:29:51
Oh Ed2, you have opened a can of worms!

Haha!

03 Jan 2013 23:07:18
just wanted to pose a little question/debate

Ricardo Quaresma

as he's a free agent, and we've saved £4m on wages through Cole alone now he has left, why would it not be worth a punt at him?

1) he's 28, so he's got a few years ahead of him
2) would fit into the style due to time at barca
3) hes direct - 38 assists in 76 games for Besiktas

4) obviously quite tempremental-why else is he free?
5) he struggled to build upon his reknowned potential

Obviously i would be delighted if he was considered due to the fact i admire watching him, thus im biased and would be happy to hear other peoples opinion

SR {Ed002's Note - I think you might be overstating the saving. Quaresma has struggled somewhat since leaving Porto where much was expected of him when he was younger. Since leaving Porto he has been much lower profile and has had a number of clubs but not really settled. As he has had his contract with Besiktas cancelled he is a free agent and will probably be heading back to the Iberian peninsula - I will take a shot at saying with Porto.}

I agree i would take him but only on a 6 month contract and wages of no more than £50k a week, if it works out then we offer him a rolling 1 year deal on £60k a week its really a no brainier.

BigD

He is brilliant

Rodgers is ending Sahin loan deal to free up wages which he will use to sign free agent Ricardo Quaresma.
Glice10

You are still liable for wages read down the other post b4 u post bs

No chance of queresma more chance of Barnsey putting his boots back on

Wouldn't touch Quaresma unless it was pay is you play

Rubbish don't believe you

QUERESHMA !! R u being searious he is 29! i'd rather have no player than him
we've got gerrard, sterling, lucas, allen, shelvey, suso nd downing!

Quaresma is not a top player, dont need him

I beg to differ, i would sign him, if brendan can get hold of him and make him happy, he is naturally gifted

Quersma is a gifted footballer and coached right can be a great asset to the squad for free worth a shot if he is not asking for silly wages can be world class on his day

Is there any intrest in kevin prince boateng from liverpool great player ps addicted to this site {Ed002's Note - No.}

03 Jan 2013 21:28:01

Good luck joe great player just didn't happen for u here mate

03 Jan 2013 21:01:14
Gameiro talks have begun

leech

I don't know if he will start games or be a super sub

Would think he'd be a starter on the left Suarez in the middle and Sturridge on the right

But we're will sterling be in the side then

I'm not saying this rumour is true or not, but sterling will need to be rested sooner or later. Playing every game at a young age will burn him out faster.

03 Jan 2013 20:48:37
Ž#LFC talks with Gameiro has started. Dialogue between agent Roland Jeromin and #PSG are expected over the weekend

Any truth?

You have just told us talks have begun so u must know if there is any truth.

Oooh i do hope so admiral. he's the one i want. knows where the goal is. our front 3'll soon be urgent.

Well Sherlock were do you get your info from?

Why are you using the cardinal number sign in your post?

03 Jan 2013 19:48:11
chamakh from the gooners anyone?

Classic, hilarious.

You have to be joking he stinks!

The Plank

Chamakh looks to be going to west ham deal nearly struck with gooners according to phil mcnulty bbc sports

Not sure I see how this would improve our squad? Would rather see Borini or Yesil than Chamakh (is he even at Arsenal still?).

Great attempt wenger

I am being very truthful when i type this. I would rather have heskey back then him.

FowlerGod.

Once used to be one of the best talents in the french league , banging in 15 goals plus for Bordeaux a season, worth 12-15 million easy, NOW just a very late 20ish old flop were arsenal will have to pay to get rid of him, need i say any more

It is not April fools day yet

I BLOODY HOPE NOT!!

He is literally the worst striker ever born

Yeah as cole is on his way to wham we need a new boot cleaner

Yeah but you are paying cole 50k a week to play for west ham

Don't think he is brave enough to leave his name!!!!

Wenger, is that you?

03 Jan 2013 19:38:42
Hearing LFC are in talks with Roland Jeromin (agent of Kevin Gameiro) for a possible move to anfield for the PSG player.

M

We stooping to new lows if we are signing agents!

RedLee

Clearly you missed the point where it says for the PSG player.

Great Signing I think if we get him.. Looks like an in the box sort of player that we need.

Lots of rumors gathering pace that Liverpool will have talks on the weekend with him about a move on loan.

west ham apparently may send Carrol back as well as they chase Chamak and Remy .and are dissapointed with the whole Carrol deal, injury's and form etc .

Mr Blobby

Sorry to report this but if anyone remembers Andrew smith(I reported that he may join the liverpool academy in North America)will be joining the United States development academy of arsenal fc(yes the arsenal). Massive loss:(.
AnfieldUSA

Wouldn't be surprised if I never hear his name again.

John Henry?

Actually I scouted him for the mainstream clubs in the United States. Probably someone in the FSG say him because he literally stayed in Boston for somewhat 2-3months during his summer.he was a massive shoe-in for lfc Untill big ole arsenal and their impressive scouting department had to come knocking. They showed him California and we were pretty much f'ed after that:(. And to the JERK who said you'll never hear of him again. I'll have you know that he turned down 4-5 offers from the usl(American verison of the championship) even tough he is only 17 yrs old.i don't remember the other guys comment but if it was negative, I strongly disagree but I can't argue(don't know what you said)
AnfieldUSA

Why do so many people find this unbelievable? Its so unimportant, it is totally believable.

I think its disgraceful that one of the few utterly imaginable and down to earth posts is shot down

Good piece of information to be shared too

it is however, completely insignificant to most people on the site

Good information mate however having 5 clubs look at him from "the American Championship" means nothing.

I do not know the player so can not comment on his ability but I have friends who are currently in Cardiff, Swansea and Southampton reserves teams yet it is going to be unbelievably hard for them to break through to the first team and they have great ability. I suppose what I am saying is its easy for a player from the USA to get lost in some academy. I honestly believe if he was that good some one would have brought him over for trials.

Look forward to your opinion AnfieldUSA.

RAH, YNWA

In all honesty I can say that he's currently not interested in a move out of country and as far as I know he wants to play college soccer, which will bring him at around 21-22 when he's ready for pro anyways but anyways I don't know of any interests. It's not other that a European club will come looking overseas for anyone unless the player makes open and sends tapes and such around. Your point about the player getting lost in the academy is very real and a major problem with USS. Some clubs like Houston dynamo are offering some sort of extra benefits to the player if he makes it pro at THAT club but they can't directly offer cash or anything of that nature to the player. I've visited his house and talked with him and his parents and both gave my the impression that he has some story(don't know what it is as I didn't ask) but ill get back to you on that when he comes out with a interview. But just some quick facts I would like to tell you about his stats. In 2nd grade he joined a 4th grade select team (not average Sunday league but 2 steps higher) and scored 23 goals as a midfielder( position didn't matter as they were only like 4v4). Then when he got into middle school, he played for his schools main team as a AM and in the first 14 games he had 26 goals and 15 assists and was voted his states young player of the year. Then he join the OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM where he really got my attention( as he played in the southwest region under my coaches). I don't remember the stats for that season but he did when the state polls golden boy and top scorer. Then in his 8th grade year he started for his highschool varsity and scored a WHOPPING 51 goals in 25games. He then started looking around when I brought him to an agent in Boston in hopes the FSG might see him. I don't know what happened but he was very interested in joining the the lfc academy wanted him too(along with every other academy on the America's) that's when I reported him on this site. Then he started looking else where because the academy isn't located in the most athlete Frendily area(rather chilly for him being a southern boy) but he still was set on lfc. Then the arsenal saga with Andrew went and that was that. His athletic starts go as follow
40yd dash 4.6
10yd dash 1.4
Vertical 31
Bench bodywieght 3x
Squat 2.2x bw 1x
Power clean 1.2x be 2x
6% bf
That's mate, tell me if you need anything else!
AnfieldUSA

PS Those athletic stats are probably not very big in the uk but that's what coaches check second here

Eds, Ben Arfa's name has been thrown around a bit (then again hasn't everyone's). Just for clarification are we interested at all? Although a great player and a wide man (which we need) I would imagine Newcastle would be very reluctant to sell.

Dan. {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool.}

He is French so Newcastle will keep him

03 Jan 2013 18:28:21
Just read on a site that liverpool are linked with a move for micha Richards? What's the possibility of him coming or is there even any truth in it??
Any help would be greatfull!
Great site and happy new tamest guys!
Camsmack {Ed002's Note - Slim I would think.}

We have wisdom and sama who are similar to richards but will need more experience richards allways seems injured also

He is rubbish zabaleta is better

We've got the right side of defense taken care of from our first team through our u-5's it seems like. Johnson is the best in the league, and Kelly is clearly a brilliant enough back up, even Hodgson thinks so.

Isn't his knee torn up too? He's still out an extended period I believe. Not very helpful to sign players in January who won't be able to play

~Fresh

03 Jan 2013 18:25:45
David Villa and Wesley Sneijder will NOT be joining Liverpool this window........who knows what the summer has to offer......cant look that far ahead......Damiao is of interest so expect a push towards the end of the window especially for the right price. Spurs and Chelsea are also interested

Thanks

Kam

Villa will sign. Agreed Sneijder won't

Non will sign!

03 Jan 2013 18:06:36
ed with us strongly being linked with Kevin Gameiro, and with him being versatile which rodgers likes.do u think theres a good chance we will get him on loan?
thanks
ste {Ed002's Note - There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player but Everton could only likely fund a loan. A move away from PSG in the summer seems more likely than January.}

This rumour is true, but Gamiero opts to stay at PSG, would like to see the deal happen

He is rubbish

Ed002 is a dick.

03 Jan 2013 17:55:18
I understand this is the most annoying and hardest question to answer, here it goes we are known to have had bids rejected for ince, what are the bids that have been rejected? Also without any going out apart from cole would you expect any other signings apart from ince and Jeffren on Loan possibly. Cheers eds much appreciated liamYNWA {Ed002's Note - I understand that one bid made directly to the club was rejected, and a discussion was held regarding including a player on loan as part of a deal. Ed003 might be better placed. As for other signings, if someone were to leave (I guess Coates is an example) then the club may look to a replacement - but there will at some point need to be a clear out of young defenders if they are not in the plans of BR.}

Flanaghan and Robinson should go to Blackpool as part of Ince deal

Hope we hold onto Coates, especially if this is Carras last season.

03 Jan 2013 22:13:18
Flanagan yes permanately, Robinson only on loan, Robinson will be a top left back in a few years.

Anfield Andy

03 Jan 2013 17:55:17
Expect a push for Gameiro and Jeffren on loan. LFC might wait for the Summer to try and get Ince as talks are difficult.

Good Ince is sh!t

03 Jan 2013 17:46:59
Do you still think there is interest in jeffren? Him and sturridge are very similar players? It would make more sense for him to be a back up if sturridge fell through.

Thanks

Lee the red {Ed002's Note - There is nothing recent.}

Sturridge cant fall through he was a confirmed signing yesterday

What. Sturridge has signed mate yesterday

03 Jan 2013 17:24:20
eds i beeen wanting to ask, we earlier saw alot of post mentioning the likes of keisuke honda, personaly im a huge fan of hes, and tbh hes fan base in japan is insanely huge, i feel hes got what we need in midfield, hes the samurai type like gerrard who isnt afraid walk in front, what are your views on him as a player, and do we even have interest in him or is it made up by fans or what is the deal? basicly i feel he will be both benefitial for the team, but also i think he would get us alot of asian fans aswell, shouldnt we get him of possible? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. This summer we saw enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo. It seems to be the longest running of the Liverpool (and Arsenal) related "rumours". Honda was close to leaving in the summer with a move to Lazio only failing at the last minute and I understand that Lazio would still be interested at the right price. He has had a bit of a strange season in that he has been scoring goals but his performances have been criticised - which seems to have put off Dortmund who have taken a recent look. If you were to ask if I expect Honda to move to Liverpool in January the answer would be probably not.}

How many times ed002 have u answered this question recently??
IrishRed

03 Jan 2013 17:09:02
Just heard there might be a chance of us signing Rameires from Chelsea any chance Eds? {Ed002's Note - None. There has been no interest shown by Liverpool and financially is is beyond the current reach of the club.}

It would be great and im sure rafa wouldnt mind-maybe a chance

I dont believe he will come but...
If he is financially out of our reach tom werner said we can compete with anyone so eds are u saying u beg to differ u dont believe him? Or is it just a matter of we could afford it but realisticly while were out of champs league we couldnt get him {Ed002's Note - Forget what Tom Werner said about "resources".}

Sorry to be a snot but this must be the most rediculous rumours i have heard so far this window. There is zero chance of this happening. Rameriz has been a revelation since joining chelsea, he is quality and his 20+ million price tag will only have increased. Why on earth would chelsea want to sell him and if they did, where would we find the money? - also, a player like could go to any top club, why would he choose us when we will struggle to finish in the UEFA let alone the top 4. Ludicrous rumour....lets keep it within sane paramaters eh?

He can't even get in Chelsea team

We will get top 4

03 Jan 2013 17:04:57
eds any chance of Siem de Jong? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps if you are a Galatasaray or a Fortuna Dusseldorf supporter. There has been no interest shown by Liverpool.}

03 Jan 2013 16:59:02
winger Kevin Grosskreutz is being touted to Premier League clubs.

Sport says representatives of the 24 year-old Germany international has made the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton aware of his availability.

Grosskreutz wants to leave BVB after failing to secure a regular start in Jurgen Klopp's first team.

With less than 18 months to run on his contract, BVB will sell for the right price - though for the moment no English clubs have shown concrete interest.

{Ed002's Note - Grosskreutz has previously said that he wants one day to play in England. Before the last January window noted, to the annoyance of Jurgen Klopp, that his dream was to play for Arsenal. This summer, before the transfer window opened he told the press that it was his dream to play for Liverpool. I am not aware of interest right now but Liverpool do appear to be looking for a wide player (e.g. Ince, Jeffren). Equally he was a starter for Dortmund and has recently been on the bench so he could be restless again. Dortmund would probably prefer a summer move.}

Prefer perisic to him tbh, much better footballing brain and overall finishing + pass and move

03 Jan 2013 16:56:10
Hey eds. Whats the situation with Wisdom, his contract runs out in the summer. Is he going to sign a new deal? Or is he going to see out his contract?

Thanks, AC from DK {Ed002's Note - I would think Liverpool will take care of him.}

Talking to a freind of his last night from leeds he said wisom told him hes spoke to rodgers and said when can i sign

Above signed mayhem 1981 thanks

Hmmm i realy would hate to see this lad go, and as a fellow liverpool man, i most defenetly see the urgency to get hes signature on paper as soon as possible, love how he played yesterday, despite the few mistakes he did make, shows so much promise, way to go wisdom should you watch this by some odd coinsidence.

I thought he signed in the summer of 2011? Or was that just an extension?

He signed a 5 year deal last summer?

Wisdom is our future

03 Jan 2013 16:50:50
Ed, Why are Liverpool looking to let both Cole & Sahin leave this early in the transfer window getting nearly £200k a week off the wage? Both have been used this season so that would leave us light in midfield? Are we after a midfielder or are we just looking to ease the wage bill? Cole I can understand but Rodgers & Ayre negoiated Sahin wages and loan fee? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no shortage of midfield players and they have been used only on occasion. I think Cole was always likely to move on once a deal for him to leave could be agreed. Sahin, we will see. For now he is still contracted for the season. The loan fee of £4.4M has been spent. If he is simply dumped back on Real Madrid there will be no saving of wages as Liverpool shall be paying them. I do think it may be possible for Dortmund, Liverpool, Real Madrd and Sahin to agree for him to move there for teh rest of the season. You won't like it, but it may also need Liverpool to pay part of his wages if that were to happen.}

Ed, please clarify what I think you've said. Did they pay 4.4M to RM to take him on loan and then pay wages on top of this or is 4.4M his wages for the season ?

G {Ed002's Note - The £4.4M is the loan fee - then he needs to be paid on top of that.}

I would rather keep him than pay part of his wages to play for Dortmund. He's a good enough player not sure why he hasn't had more games.

Rk

Cole's gone for free and we'll be paying 50k a week for 18 months whilst west ham pay 30k. Totally outrageous if you ask me. now it looks like the same will happen with someone who isnt even our player! Crazy.

SuperDuperSuarez

Rodgers agreed to bring in this player, he is responsible in my eyes for this cost. We could have used that money to bring in Dempsey etc

Sahin has been a massive flop. We've already got Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey

03 Jan 2013 16:39:48
Eds, don't take this the wrong way as I am not saying we are going to sign him, but we'd be stupid not to at least talk to Llorente. I understand he wants Champions League football and to be challenging for major honours, so the chances of him coming to us in the current condition is very slim. However, he is a free transfer and I can't imagine we haven't at least had a chat with his representatives just to see where he stands. Like I said, I'm not expecting the transfer to happen, I, like you expect to see him end up at Juventus, but can you confirm that we at least had a discussion, even if we were turned down? {Ed002's Note - There has been no contact with Bilbao or anyone else from Liverpool. I have explained many, many times where the interest has been.}

Juve currently in talks with him over a move.
I'm gutted we at least never offered a package to him.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot bid for every single player that comes up for sale. Add him to the list of players missed out on.}

Llorente is another Carroll. Just get Carroll back!

Package including cold and Sahin

03 Jan 2013 16:35:33
Hi eds great job so far. I was wondering if there is any truth in the story that Chelsea still owe us money from the Torres transfer and that why Rodgers 20 million budget is not that affected by the Sturridge transfer {Ed002's Note - Of course not. There is nothing owed and no £20M budget.}

03 Jan 2013 16:26:15
theo walcott will leave, but will not go abroad. It is between liverpool and utd to sign him, i don't like them odds and also, ince wont join until the summer. and as for sneijder, he is going to join schalke

Obviously Walcott will choose his beloved Liverpool over the Mancs

Choose Liverpool

03 Jan 2013 16:21:03
Cole to West Ham! done deal!

Best of look joe cole. Knock united out at weekend

Hope he scores winner against united at weekend

03 Jan 2013 16:20:30
So there have been some rumours linking falcao to Real Madrid, some even saying that there may be a deal in place, if this went through is there any chance Liverpool could make a play for Higuain? Have to imagine Real wouldn't keep Benzema Falcao and Higuain, and Gonzalo would be a great addition to the club {Ed002's Note - You are clutching at straws right now. Higuain has been hawked around on and off over the past year by Real Madrid but I would not hold your breath of him moving to Liverpool in January.}

Falcao is staying at Atletico

03 Jan 2013 16:02:55
Hi eds, some rumours about Wes Sneijder being spotted etc. I really want this to happen as he is one of my fave players, what is the latest?

Also i think that his younger brother Rodney would be a good option and he is in his early 20s and shows signs of becoming the player his brother is, what do u think? {Ed002's Note - There is no "latest" I am aware of.}

The Evening Standard (London daily paper) says that Walcott is close to agreeing a new contract, close to the 90k he wanted, at Arsenal. As papers go, they are quite reliable.

Richards

03 Jan 2013 15:45:03
Hi eds do you know of any interest in isco the CAM that plays for Malaga, he's the kind of link up player liverpool need, his feet are unbelievable! {Ed002's Note - There is a lot of interest in Isco but none from Liverpool.}

I ve never had a good look at his feet
are they nice?

03 Jan 2013 15:42:55
Hey lads head's up on some loan deals:

-Jamie Stephens, 19, GK loaned to Welsh side Airbus UK Broughton for the rest of the season.

-ADAM MORGAN, 18, ST loaned to League 2 side Rotherham United for the rest of the season.

Going to be keeping an eye on Morgan and hope he does well there.

AsianRed

Is this true? Surely Morgan could do better?

Morgan is on loan until February 9th

We will look after morgan , family club , brand new ground , getting decent crowds , trying to play football, he will be well looked after, i can guarantee that.

Morgan loan only for a month

We will sign Gamiero on loan and move back in for Ince in the summer due to Blackpool wanting too much. Sahin will move on and 1 loan from Barcelona will arrive. Butland looks certain now and will be loaned back to them.

If ince continues to progress , in the summer his price will rise, and also there would be more clubs interested in him, i think now is the time to deal with ince , for the sake of 1 to 2 million (saved from coles wages).

Just a quick update as I appreciate all the work the eds and readers do. We where targeting Llorente but couldn't match Juve offer. But the 2 players close to deals are Schennikov in first and Bony later on. You can thank me later. Hope everyone had a great Xmas and good look for the new year YNWA

DarrenP RedMan

Liverpool were never targeting llorente! Scouts looked at him in summer and he was only graded c in an A-D rating system all interest ended in him after that

03 Jan 2013 15:24:23
Are we looking at Siem De Jong from Ajax, Ajax said that their price is 8 million pounds I think that if Sahin leaves that we should go for this guy not many clubs are looking at him (only looking at eriksen at ajax)+ he has a great work ethic, att mid who is also strong in the air and who gets in the box.

Ed's if I am wrong about something please let me know because this player is class

Belgian Red {Ed002's Note - There are a couple offers on teh table from him but none from Liverpool.}

03 Jan 2013 15:15:10
Hey ed's concerning this window, in your opinion, what is more likely: a) Coates being sold b) Coates being loaned out

Appreciate the response Ed's.

AsianRed {Ed002's Note - I don't know AR, but if loaned out a replacement would probably not arrive.}

03 Jan 2013 15:10:33
i still see walcott arriving before the end of the window. if he intended on signing with arsenal he would have already signed the contract. i think he is waiting to hear what other clubs are going to offer and by other clubs i mean Liverpool

- SLIM {Ed002's Note - That would be nothing then.}

If he was waiting to see what other clubs had to offer why else would he be in contract negotiations with arsenal?

He's been in talks to resign with arsenal for months now, surely they would have come up with something by now... i know iam probably the only one who will say it but i think come Feb01 he will be our new #9

03 Jan 2013 15:09:21
Any chance of getting FORLAN back to europe?
Would work excellently well with suarez and provide the experience were seeking upfront!
Or the likes of NENE of PSG who wants out?
And finally, are we currently in the market for an (attacking mid/Playmaker) ?
Thanx a million! {Ed002's Note - Forlan no; Nene is heading out of PSG but not to Liverpool.}

FORLAN you messin?

03 Jan 2013 14:58:03
After completing the deal for Sturridge, I am told that Liverpool are pushing hard to get Tom Ince and are keeping a close watch on the Theo Walcott saga. Ince should be a done deal within next 7-10 days. Other than POSSIBLY Walcott, that COULD conclude our business this window.......

Thanks

Kam

I would love to see Walcott in a Liverpool shirt & think this deal will be done nearer the end of the window.

03 Jan 2013 14:19:01
Hi ed's

PSG have said that Hoarau has opened talks with another club. Any idea who that club is?

Any chance of it being us?

JJD {Ed002's Note - I don't think so. I understand that he has a very good (financially speaking) offer from China but is not convinced he wishes to move there. He has also, according to his agent, some other interesting options.}

03 Jan 2013 12:33:51
eds, what are the chances of Son Heung-min? Looks a really good player. Thanks {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, including Liverpool, have been looking at Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion as well. I would doubt he will be available for a January move.}

He will be like park and kagawa for united - shirt sellers, who are average players {Ed002's Note - The club do not get much from the shirts sales.

03 Jan 2013 12:25:55
Hi eds. I've read all the posts about Coates, but still find the situation confusing. Do the rumours have any substance? I gather that the player himself feels either unsettled or that he needs more games, and that several clubs would be interested in buying him, but would Liverpool really be happy to sell? Even a loan, which might solve the short-term problem for the player, would leave Liverpool short at the back given Kelly's injury and Carragher's age. If they sold him now, would they feel confident of getting a quality replacement in this window? Lescott? Any thoughts appreciated. {Ed002's Note - It is hard to say if a replacement would be found immediately but Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus has been mentioned as a possible loan option. Mirin has been mentioned as an option if he does leave.}

Has Carragher started to get game time lately in case/because Coates goes/is going? Surely if Coates was staying, then BR would want to give him the game time over Carragher!?!? I don't think it would be just purely sentimental value to get Carragher up the appearance record list this early in the season before or are they trying to get him to 500 before he retires? Any way, just thinking out loud!

My personal opinion is that Coates will stay. Big reason. Suarez. I agree Coates has not had much match time, therefore he may be unhappy. Cannot see us wanting to get rid of him {Ed002's Note - It has nothing to do with Suarez.}

Can't believe we are all speculating that Coates is going to go. He is a big talent and needs playing time. Whenever he's played his talents are obvious. We all know that CBs need a string of games for confidence etc. He'll be a key player for the next few years if he stays.
I really hope now that BR continues his faith in the KK signings; the ones he seemed to want to get rid of at the start of the season. Players like Enrique, Downing, Henderson are all playing well. It's a massive shame that he did not give them a go at the start of the season. If he did, he probably would not have sold Adam, would not have bought Allen, not have loaned in Sahin, and realised the priority to purchase attacking players rather than trying to bring in replacements.
Anyway, he seems to have realised the error of his ways now, but we'll miss out on 4th as a result
G

Coates should be kept and we should sell either Skrtel or Agger in the summer to make way for him, their is too much sentiment amongst LFC fans when it comes to these players, I like them too but we have won next to nothing with them and they are not going to get better. The rumoured £20m we were offered for them should have been accepted, they certainly arn't worth as much after this season! Ged

edds02 any chance of us signing lucas bigla from anderlecht as cover for lucas or matias suarez as another potential striker? read on other sites that we are interested. any truth behind these? {Ed002's Note - The simple answer is it is very unlikely (or no, in the short term).

Fiorentina and Lazio are amongst the clubs who have enquired after Biglia. Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he could well move this winter with Wolfsburg, AC Milan and Arsenal looking very keen indeed, but there may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned; lately his desire is to move to Italy.

Liverpool along with Bayern Munich, PSG, Zenit, Arsenal, Newscastle, Lazio and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez in the distant past but there seems to only be interest from Napoli and, as ever, CSKA Moscow right now. Suarez rejected approaches from CSKA Moscow and Galatasaray in the summer. However, CSKA returned with a further bid and they believed the deal was done before Suarez failed his medical. So for now he remains slightly in limbo. For a move to England he will need a work permit and not playing for the national team is a major issue against it happening. Claiming on an exception basis will also be difficult for someone of his age. His other option would be to seek a Belgian passport and stay a while longer there. Otherwise, he can move freely to other European countries.}

Morning Ed's Rodgers has come out and said " There is nothing in the pipeline.It was never going to be a busy month for us and there are not many players available who could come in and improve what we are doing.We are not going to spend money needlessly but there is no doubt over the coming months we need to strengthen the squad" So do u think Sturridge may be the only signing untill the summer?? Cheers! {Ed002's Note - As I have said, there may well be someone coming in on loan and Ince must remain an option.}

03 Jan 2013 11:12:18
Eds, can we just cancel Sahin loan or is it more complicated than that? {Ed002's Note - It is likely more complicated and we don't know the terms.}

03 Jan 2013 11:03:53
Happy New Year Eds - What are the chances on the following pruchase or loan as rumours r once again banding about...

unrealistic options (i just hope theyre true)
Villa? (porbably silly for even asking)
Grameiro
Kaka
Bony
Sneijder (cough cough)
Alonso
Walcott

It was mentioned to me (after spending new year in Liverpool) that Taraabt could be on his way with Joe Cole going the other way?

And a possibility of Benteke with Coates+cash? Id rather not ...

can you shed any light on who u think the possible loan move will be for?

thanks

easyD {Ed002's Note - The only player I am certain a loan move has been made for is Jeffren.}

03 Jan 2013 10:57:36
Hatem Ben Arfa is a target for Liverpool, with a £9.5m offer being touted. Possible LFC may try to do a player plus cash deal, with Downing being offered to Newcastle in exchange.
2no people have told me this story eds, is there any truth in it ?
Hope there is !!!!!!

JD {Ed002's Note - None. There is interest in Ben Arfa but not from Liverpool.}

03 Jan 2013 10:16:42
was told a while ago our main target is walcott, cheers {Ed002's Note - The main target was Sturridge.}

03 Jan 2013 10:11:41
hi eds do you know of any interest in young swedish player rinor nushi {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

03 Jan 2013 07:35:33
Hi Ed's

Are we really looking at ending Sahin's loan deal?

I personally think BR has changed his mind about selling Henderson which has now changed his mind on Sahin? Rodgers is getting the best out of Hendo, we would be crazy to move him on!

Sahin is a good player but I would rather see us sign backup for Lucas than pay what Madrid will be asking for Sahin. Dortmund have said that they will take him back but only if it is feasible. That suggests that Sahin will be expensive. What would Sahin's transfer fee be more or less to sign him permanently?

Max {Ed002's Note - The loan situation has been dealt with at length. There is no option to buy in the agreement and I doubt Liverpool would want to buy him. The price quoted in the summer was high.}

Real Madrid are looking at offers around £16m for Nuri Sahin

03 Jan 2013 03:06:41
Hi edds02

just wondering who else you think liverpool will sign this summer.

curiousgeorge {Ed002's Note - I suspect a deal can still be done for Ince plus one on loan.}

Ed, surely you are referring to January transfer window and not summer? {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I was. The summer is a long way off but if I were to stick my neck on teh line about a player it would be Galatasaray's Selcuk Inan who has been interesting Rubin Kazan, Liverpool and Tavriya Simferopol - but I cannot see anything happening before the summer.}

03 Jan 2013 08:37:09
Walcott has given the green light to l'pool after rejecting the new contract from A.f.C He will became a liverpool player , however L'pool will wait until the end of Jan to get the lowest price.

He will sign a new contract with arsenal today

Walcott is highly sought after, why would Liverpool wait until the end of January? Also, I'm pretty sure he'll stay at Arsenal. {Ed002's Note - I remain of the opinion that Liverpool's interest is zip and he will sign a new deal at Arsenal.}

You must be colour blind as it was a red light he was flashing which turned out be the brake lights of his car. Keep dreaming

03 Jan 2013 08:29:27
anythign on Wilfried Bony or Younès Belhanda? cheers!

03 Jan 2013 08:03:40
Coates is off to Aston Villa until the end of the season on loan - Rogers wants to see how he performs regularly in the league before making a decision on his future in the summer, with Ashley Williams of Swansea being Rogers choice to replace him should he leave.

Not the only business between the two clubs - Rogers is a long term admirer of Charles N'Zogbia and will be lodging an offer in the region of £5m for the player. This is less than half the amount Villa paid for him, but he has yet to fully settle and is one of Villa's top earners, so they may well be tempted.

Ince will not be coming - Fee cannot be agreed, hence the above offer.

David Villa IS an option, but LFC want a loan and Barca want to sell (for c£12m), which the board are reluctant to sanction due to his age and lack of recent match time - however, Rogers is working on them - Personally, for £12m, would take the risk.

Sneijder is NOT an option - Not even been considered. Benat from Real Betis IS - Apparently, an offer will be made within the next few days - c£10m, who will replace Sahin who will head back to Madrid (Rogers unhappy with form and attitude).

Also, expect a firm offer for Danny Rose at the end of the season as back up for the left back position

Out - Cole (west Ham - will cost us c£2.5m payoff!!) - Coates (Villa - loan)

Utter tosh!

Ashley Williams ?!

sell suarez then or what ? :D :D

no way.

Ashley Williams, you got to be kidding, Coates is better, Rodgers would be a twit to replace Coates with him, what next Danny Graham to replace Suarez.

Mango

Aside from Cole out, this all sounds ridiculous

Can't see Ashley Williams playing in the same team as Luis Suarez.

And then he woke up and it was all a dream! Drivel mate!

The Plank

Not a sniff mate after Ashley Williams said he wanted to rip luis head off....That would just be stupid to upset our best player for a player not good enough to lace up agger's or skrtel's boots....

03 Jan 2013 08:02:27
Fellow kops i have heard a few people have seen villa around town(some calling me to tell me)...also downing is likely to stay due to his recent form, apparently butland will come with jones or gulacsi going the other way, ince deal far from done and no sjneider to liverpool but apparently there is an interest in llicic and cole as good as gone(finally!)
-Nolan

Shame we're paying £4 million to get rid of Cole,

Jones has only just signed a new contract!

The straw selling business booms again around anfield!

4 mil well spent

Maybe Villa is signing for Everton?

A lot of ppl are saying that they've spotted villa at liverpool airport yesterday and everton dont have the money to sign him so unless its a loan 2 everton, liverpool might be in 4 a deal

Villa to Everton instead of Liverpool? No disrespect

03 Jan 2013 07:27:24
eds, have we ever shown any interest in victor wanyama of celtic? watched him a few times this season and really looks cut out for the premier league, good vision, strong and an excellent passer of the ball.Great site and a happy new year.

wigan red {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of mate.}

Wanyama is one of the best young players in the world! Best player on the park by a mile when Celtic beat Barca, dominated both Xavi and Iniesta

03 Jan 2013 05:02:05
Sup eds was just wonderin is there any chance of llorente from bilbao? People say he wouldnt suit rodgers style but he plays for spain so he must because both styles are the similar..good player :)
lfcCarty95 {Ed001's Note - unlikely due to the ridiculous money Bilbao are asking for him. Unlike most Spanish sides, they are not really in need of money, partly because it is difficult for them to spend it with their Basque only rules.}

Basque only? coutouis is a belgian and they have other foreigners aswell

majestic69 {Ed002's Note - Courtois plays for Atletico Madrid and Llorenti is still ost likely en rout to Juventus. I am sure everybody had a wager at 6-1 when someone provided the odds last week.}

Off to juventus

03 Jan 2013 04:57:08
Liverpool have been offered quaresma by his agent

What a lovely gesture! Did we thank him for the kind offer then refer him to QPR?

Red G

His agent is offering to anyone and everyone as he is without a club

cozinoz

We should actually consider someone like this. Wide forward, gets goals, will add experience to the squad and i'm guessing wouldn't mind being on the bench now and then. Again the only problem is wages?

Why not offer pay as you play...

03 Jan 2013 03:42:11
If sahin goes to dortmund, is there a posibility we could enquire about Gundogan?

Gundogan would be a good signing. But that would mean hnderson having to accept a bit part role or be offloaded, something i do not want to see, as he has massive potential.

03 Jan 2013 02:55:28
Championship duo, Thomas Ince and Jack Butland will sign before the 15th for £5m and £6m, followed by one loan deal, Jeffren seeming the most likely at this stage as his name is being thrown around a lot. No hope of Sneijder! Departures will take place in the 2nd Half of the Transfer Window as Brendan wants to ensure he has the players he wants before letting go of players surplus to requirements and doesn't want a repeat of last transfer window. Cole, Doni, Pacheco will likely leave, yesil will not go out on loan and Stewart Downing will stay, having won over Brendan Rodgers with good performances over the last few weeks.
Thanks ed002!

Hi guys great site. I would just like to say Tom Ince will sign for Liverpool in the next few days. There is interest in Butland from Liverpool and Everton. Sahin is interesting Dortmund and Inter who are looking to get rid of Sneijder. Liverpool looking at lillic as possible replacement.

joe cole is deffo going to west ham deal will be announced late on today

also Liverpool won't sign anyone till after the man utd game as the club don't want distractions

that is the latest

but 4 more players will be coming in

Götze is a target right? {Ed002's Note - No.}

03 Jan 2013 00:33:21
Eds,

Im surprised at the lack of interest there seems to be in Llorente? I cant believe he is going for around 4million to Juve. Think he would be a great buy. Have Liverpool shown much interest recently do you know?

Thanks,
RedChris {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest.}

He`s a spanish carroll , he wont fit into BR`s system

Juventus are an equally big club, who pay good wages and they are champions league....and llorente is overrated.

Hope you answer my question
Cheers, Zincho {Ed002's Note - I would not think a move in January is likely.}

Just seen David Villa coming out of the lobster pot in town with Reina (who was still in his trackie after the game like) they were laughing and seemed happy.

Ah a loving couple no doubt!

Good food in lobster pot...

Fish chips and peas in lobster pot and then knocking back a few guiness at Cavern club around the corner you cannot beat it.

If they both start putting weight on you now know why.

Ian Salgado (Spanish Musician) is in town as he is friends with Reina. Looks a lot like Villa as it happens but is shorter and less stocky. And nearer 40 than 30. It is not Villa!
