Are Chelsea in for Eduardo Vargas, Ed? I've heard they have representatives discussing a deal. {Ed002's Note - I don't know how this stuff gets out but Eduardo Vargas has to be a possibility but with interest from Italy and serious interest from Inter I suspect England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia. Certainly there has been interest from Italian and English clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Palermo and probably others) but there are concerns from the English clubs as to whether or not he will be able to obtain international clearance immediately. If he were to move and go on loan, then the club is taking a risk that he continues to play competitive internationals for his country.}

liverpool will sigh samba for ten mil in january,also have on good word that kk is looking at kevin doyle and a deal could be done in january for around twelve mil.

Can Wolves afford to pay us £10million to take Doyle of their hands? Why would we want another lumbering centre forward who has a feeble goal scoring record? I never miss an Ireland game and I can assure you that Kevin Doyle is a whole-hearted player who is nowhere near good enough for Liverpool.

For the last time people we will not and do not need another defender ! ! !

current defenders:
johnson,skrtel,agger,enrique
kelly,carra,coates,aurelio
flano,wisdom,sama,robbo.

there are 3 players for each postion so do not need any more cover

bigd

Why does everyone forget Wilson!!

Wise up i think we have plenty of centre halves, and if we get a striker it will be somebody better than dolye

Doyle,what a load of rubbish.Ive seen more talent in my gold fish.Surely we are long down the road of bringing in quality that WILL IMPROVE the squad not the opposite.

Dont know what paper you read or web site you go on,but the day liverpool football club start paying that kind of money for the players you are on about ,thats the day i will stop going tony fife

Cant we bring aquaman back! {Ed002's Note - No, that won't be happening.}
-------------------------------------------
Is he called Aquaman because when he tries to tackle peole got through him like water?

KT!

Water doesn't go through people.

His name is aqualani wt u expect {Ed002's Note - No it's not.}

03 Dec 2011 19:32:53
hi eds and people just wondering if liverpool wud be intrested in darren bent knows where the goal is and would link up with suarez well. any views peole.great job eds

{Ed002's Note - They had there chance last year. I very much doubt it.}

From what I was told is that he found out hard to settle up north, the midlands is only an hour and a half away from london so I doubt he would want to go back up north?

liverpool fc are looking to offload andy carroll in jan,my source says carroll will go back to newcastle with ba going the other way plus money have no figure. big john.

I hope so Ba is ten times the player

Your dreaming

Your source is a fool.

With the start Newcastle have had this season & the Ba goals ... begs the question, WHY?

Carroll to Newcastle, Ba to us, plus cash?
I wonder what that would cost us.

I don't think Kenny will give up on Andy that easily.

I heard that we are bringing in falco and playin him with carrol so dont think hes goin.

He was signed for 5 years not for 5 mins, Andy will come good, give him time, he's still learning, you'd think he was 28 and vastly experienced the way some people go on!

hi ed...i read during the week that 19 year old Juan Agudelo of the new york red bulls is to have a 2 week training period with liverpool. Is this just training or is there interest in signing him ? Iv heard hes very talented !

bazthe2nd {Ed002's Note - Consider it a trial.}

If he is as promising as Pelosi get him in.

I was actually talking to my friend last night, who is a big Red Bulls fan. He described Agudelo as "the truth" haha. Said he has a big future.

Is Robert Lewandowski available in January? If not what about the Summer? What kind of price would we be looking at? He has all the attributes to be a top premier league star. 6 foot, good on the ball, can head well, can hold the ball up and is fast enough. Have we had scouts look at him?

TheShire. {Ed002's Note - All players are available if enough money is offered. It is pointless guessing at a price. The summer is too far away to know what will happen in terms of transfers. There is no known interest in the player from Liverpool.}

03 Dec 2011 16:02:38
Heard that Fernando Torres will be signed for around the figure of 23m... However it will be the Fernando Torres of Athletic Bilbao, the player is also known as Fernando Llorente. That could be an interesting partnership with Luis Suarez with big Andy Carroll as backup?.

Would love to see it but doubtful - i believe we had 30m turned down last january so i doubt they'd except less money this year! {Ed002's Note - And then that money was used to by Carroll.}

Fernando Llorente will not be coming to liverpool, he is going to a champs league club if anywhere!

What is point in having a 35mil striker as back-up? Plus llorente is an ok player but he's another carroll we need someone quick and can score like podolski maybe?

K player!! He's 10 times better than Carrol + he can score goals

Actually, Alex Pato will be coming in january
not the Alex pato, but the player known as Alex Pato from Inter, Wesley Snjeider
Not the Wesley Snjeider, but the Snjeider from Arsenal, Aaron Ramsey
They wont want to let him go, so it will be the Aaron Ramsey from Wolves, Jamie O'Hara.

Ed002, are you sure there Is no transfer request by Alex an Anelka? Keep up the good work btw!
Shottski. {Ed002's Note - I need to clarify this a little in terms of these "transfer requests" and something which may have been lost in translation. The club agreed that both players may leave in January after they requested to do so. The agreement did not involve written "transfer requests" and does not include the players' financial entitlement of 5% being waived (this is the critical thing with written "transfer requests". It was known some time ago that this would the case and it was clarified on Thursday where a number of players had their opportunity to discuss their future options with the club. All of the players knew that this was to happen and had time to talk to agents and prepare. The specifics of Alex and Anelka is that their agents can actively and openly seek other clubs for them. Anelka is looking for a final "pay day". As part of any deal I understand that the club may be willing to drop any financial demands from the buying club against possible options on younger players. They have done this successfully before. As for Alex, he is looking for regular first team football and a contract that takes him to when he is 32 and then he wants a return to Brazil.}

03 Dec 2011 15:28:00
Hi Eds...seeing as Anelka and Alex have put in transfer requests, could you see us making a big for either one of them seeing as our strikers aren't scoring (for Anelka) and alex could be a very good back up for our defence as well as taking free kicks?
Kabir {Ed002's Note - They are both available but there are no transfer requests. Anelka is one of a number of players whose contracts run out in teh summer. Alex is interested in more regular first team football. Liverpool have plenty of centre backs, have no intereest in Alex at this time and Alex would have no interest in teh move. I don't see Anelka as an option either, he will be looking for a final move which will give him a good financial deal. Again, there is no interest from Liverpool at this time.}

No eds you have got it wrong, they have put in transfer requests! {Ed002's Note - Sadly it has been mis-reported and the term "transfer request" is misleading. They have both been told that they can leave in January as expected but there have been no transfer requests that would result in the players waiving their 5% of any monies gained from the move. This was very clear when the agreement was made on Tursday and Chelsea agreed to this.}

Hi Eds.

First time posting and dont want to be a div as you have answered questions on this guy before but read that Montolivo's contract runs out in the summer. Can you confirm this?

I do realise that doesnt mean that he is a Liverpool target but would like to know if we have had him watched.

I know that you have said that he will probably stay where he is but if the contract rumour is true he's stalling for some reason.

Cheers

Big red Baz {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have certainly had him watched and the reason that he is of interest is because he has been refusing to sign a new contract. Branchini is assuming that he will run down the contract and leave for free in the summer - thereby getting a large signing on fee which he, as Montolivo's agent will no doubt have a share of.}

Hey Ed. Do you suppose we are watching De Rossi for the same reasons?
cheers
Dom {Ed002's Note - No.}

Chelsea were preparing a £25mil bid for Lucas Levia before he got injured playing against them. Lucas was informed of the interest, but said he'd never play for another club in England. He has said in the past that he will play for Gremio again.
Dave Hedghog and Spud Gun

Have also heard this not sure about the amount do {Ed002's Note - Whatever the amount it is nonsense. Chelsea were not "preparing" any such bid.}

Would have been cheaper for abramovich to just buy Liverpool last year than each player separately!

Its just silly talk either way.....do you really think lucas would go to them, even more so us selling them our most consistent performer

He did dominate Chelsea's midfield in both of the games to be fair aha, such a shame about his injury, he is our best player along with suarez now

03 Dec 2011 11:52:24
How strong are these Gaston Ramirez rumours ED?? Is he a possibility at all for Jan? {Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool. I suspect he will not be available until the summer unless a very good offer is made. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. A maybe.}

Liverpool are the frontrunners for him. 15mio at least is the price tag..

Suarez and coates will also be key and he would love 2 play with his countrymen

Eds just read Wenger has said that he wont be buying nyone in jan.......how does that change our approach towards podalski?? {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure that Liverpool's January spending is not based around Arsenal's plans. Also I would not be so sure Arsenal will not buy anyone in January. As for Podolski, I don't see any chance of Podolski going to a club where he cannot be sure of a starting place - it could well put his international career at risk. Lazio, Spurs and Arsenal have shown an interest but he could decide to move to Turkey with Galatasary or possibly Russia with interest from several clubs including Anzhi and Zenit. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination.}

I'm not questioning your knowledge ed, but surely Podolski would not be sure of a starting place at Arsenal considering they already have Chamakh, Chu-Young, Van Persie, Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain and Gervinho. I'm not suggesting that we are the more likely to get him compared to Arsenal.

KennyD JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I didn't say he was sure of a starting place at Arsenal. Please read the response again. There is no confirmation at all of interest from Liverpool.}

Sorry ed, misunderstood the post.

KennyD JFT96 {Ed001's Note - just to add to what 002 said, there is no confirmation we are interested in Podolski, but we have monitored Koln a number of times. It is the opinion of an employee of Koln that we are watching Podolski, I can think of no reason to disagree as he is known to be available.}

Kenny says we are buying nobody.

We aren't. {Ed002's Note - We could shut down until summer then.}

And when did he say this then? {Ed002's Note - He hinted yesterday that there would be no replacement bought for Lucas. Perhaps he was fibbing?}

Yeah Ed's you can all take a well deserved break

Maybe thew reality is he needs no other players at this time apart from another striker

I know about the lucas situation,kenny said we have cover but i never heard him say we won't bring anybody in at all in any position as the above post seems to imply.great site by the way eds

Anybody remember the Babel story.Kenny said he is not going anywhere and less than 24 hours he was gone.

Irish Red

Kenny DID NOT say we were buying nobody. He said he will not buy anyone to replace Lucas.

{Ed002's Note - We could shut down until summer then.}

This is certainly the reply of the day for me......

Sorry.......Nothing offensive to the gentleman who posted it...

Ed, Who is the funniest among all the Eds? :P

LiverBird {Ed001's Note - obviously me!}

Hello ed any chance of James Mccarthy from wigan? we were interested in him before he moved to Wigan in 2009 and also last summer before we signed Henderson.Has he signed new contract with Wigan?

SM {Ed002's Note - I am sure Wigan would be willing to let James McCarthy move on and as you say Liverpool have previously shown an interest. Clubs enquiring in the summer baulked at the £20M price tag.}

03 Dec 2011 08:48:12
What are our chances to get Montelivo or De Rossi, to fill our CDM hole?? {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely that Montolivo will leave Fiorentina in January regardless of interest from Juventus, Liverpool and Roma. As it stands right now I expect Di Rossi to sign a new contract at Roma.}

Montolivo's not a defensive midfielder he's much more comfortable playing further forward. More of an Adam or Shelvey type than a Lucas.

03 Dec 2011 07:43:32
All this talk of LFC buying a replacement for Lucas is rubbish - He is one of the best in his position in the world, and we will not splash the cash on someone who will effectively be a 'six month' replacement!

However, we were already looking very seriously at two potential additions to the squad who could do the job, in the form of Mark Noble at West Ham and James McCarthy from Wigan.

Also, Valencia from Man Utd is also in the radar, as is the shock return of Torres for c£30m.

Oh please ive heard some c**p in my time but this is the best.Old whiskey nose would rather eat his own head than sell a player to us&would Torres be welcome back at Anfield?......I think not my friend.

Torres, like any player will be welcome, if he scores goals. everyone knows how fickle fans are. especially these days. but i dont see it. kevo's

The first two lines were believable,
and then:
Valencia? Torres?

Hi Ed, I heard that LFC will get the Malaysian player that is on trial with Cardiff City. Any story about it over in england as it is a big story at this part of the world. {Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything about it. What is his name?}

Not again..

Funny name for a player !!!

Safiq rahim is Malaysia capten...lol, he score one when Liverpool come to Malaysia

Absolute tripe all this. The player was crap at little Cardiff. Someone just wants a bit of (extremely cheap) publicity..

He's only a week into his 3 week trial at Cardiff, which may be why he has done 'so crap' there.

MansfieldRED

Nah... Definitely not up Liverpool / premiership standard. ...and he's a Man Utd fan.

03 Dec 2011 02:46:42
hi eds
is there real interest in lucas oscampos fro liverpool?
cheers
pragyan {Ed002's Note - Lucas Ocampos plays for River Plate and has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy. That seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus have made a bid of $15.5M.}

03 Dec 2011 02:44:20
Can people understand that Fer is not a CDM, he's played more as a winger, he much more attacking than Lucas so if he does come it wouldbn't be to fill Lucas' place. I am aware of some interested in a couple of players from PSV aswell.

Hi Eds, feeling like we're tempting something on this lad, Zaha from Palace. Would love to see him play for us! Could add some pace and speed to our team !
So did you hear anything about it? {Ed002's Note - I am aware of speculation but I don't know that there is any confirmation of interest in the player.}

He is RUBBISH. All he does is runs down the wing cuts inside into a number of defenders. He can not cross and he hasn't done anything productive all season.
