Liverpool will sign another striker for sure this Janurary.
Nesv realise that if they add another quality striker to partnership Torres, then LFC will become a potent force upfront.
To complement an attack force that will boast Torres and another quality striker, a quality winger will be also signed.
These signings will hopefully takeaway the one dimensional style of football played at LFC and add some flamboyance and flair to LFC attacking play.

His agent? Guillem Balague who is always spot on when he speaks on his website.

Pacheco wanted to leave because he was promised to be involved in the first-team, and he never got many appearences. (2 after yesterday I think).

From talkSPORT,

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could join former England manager Steve McClaren at Wolfsburg in January.

Reports in German say talks between the Bundesliga club and Liverpool have taken place with an impressive fee of around £12m mentioned.

Agger has been used sparingly since joining the club from Brondby in 2007 and has struggled with injuries since Roy Hodgson's arrival.

Juventus are also said to be monitoring the player's situation but it is unclear whether Hodgson will allow him to leave with defensive cover in short supply at Anfield.

Jamie Carragher suffered a dislocated shoulder at the weekend and is facing up to three months out and Agger could be required to fill in during his absence.

surely not? ED?

I am starting to wonder wehther K. Honda is being used as a smokescreen. I don't like the fact that everyone seems to be expecting this guy to sign for us. We are desperate for quality, but why are we so clumsy about this deal? Why does everybody and their mama seem to know about this guy's price and that Liverpool are interested in him? There's plenty of time for anyone to hijack this deal and catch us with our pants down our ankles. Could it be that Comolli is trying to work some Meireles- type deals instead? Personally, I assume that when Henry spoke of actions being stronger than words, he was sincere. Also, there's no way the squad can be overhauled in one summer. If Liverpool want to be competitive next year, both transfer windows need to be exploited. What's your take on this ed? {ed's note - everyone knows his price etc because he has been talking about a move to Liverpool for a while and trying to get himself that move. I have heard nothing concrete on him actually being in talks though, but with this new administration in charge info is very difficult to come by.}

Does anybody have any links to any Russian sites supposedly with us signing Honda, or in talks with CSKA about a move. I've heard its all over there papers.
Have you any sites Ed and do you believe this a possible deal- What are your sources telling you about the possibility of this move? {ed's note - I haven't heard anything about this move, but no sources will talk to me at the moment, everything has been tightened up at Melwood.}

Liverpool should look at Scott Sinclair for some young English talent! Playing really well at Swansea and wouldn't cost major bucks! 8 goals so far from left wing looks like a good litle addition as a squad player! What's your proffessional opinion Editor?

Evening ed everyone .alot of speculation on players on here today, but I'm cocerned because there is still no talk of a top striker something we've needed for three seasons. cheers psvelnino
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It really depends what the defenition of a top class striker is though mate. One striker might be classed by one of us as top class, whereas another might not be.

But if by top class you mean someone like Aguero (just an example) then not this January anyway in my opinion.

Just a note o adel taraabt ed, i do know spurs have 1st option on the player! and according to people who know the player claim he has unfinished business at spurs? all i understand ed is that redknapp is kept up to date with warnock who have been out to dinner a few times @ langans

What about tarrabt from QPR i no he didn't do well at spurs but he's young and talented skillfull and can play in any attacking position.

ed any thoughts? {ed's note - Comolli loves him mate.}

cheers for your comment, would you think he would do well at LIVERPOOL if so how much would he cost us and is he available.
cheers {ed's note - he has loads of ability but a bad attitude, I am not sure if he will do well or not, depends on how well he is managed.}

great point editor, but if we did sign him his wages wouldn't be too high, he wouldn't cost much, so if he doesn't behave we can drop him and sign someone else, then if he wants to play football he'll change his attitude, and wasnt comolli responsible for him? he has always impresed me so could be good! and editor wat do u think o f the gignac rumours doesn't seem too likwely :/

me14

{Editor's Note: No club is realistically going to take on a player with the thought that if he plays up we can drop him and buy someone else. There is no Gignac rumour - it is an old story from when he was with Toulouse. He moved to Marseille in August - but seems to have forgotten how to score goals. There are much better strikers in France at the moment - Bafe Gomis for example, but he would probably not be available. Perhaps he could move to Liverpool n the summer if the club make a move for Claude Puel as manager - just kidding.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

this is an old rumour about tarrabt from QPR. as i stated few weeks ago tarrabt is only 4 to 5 months into his contract. he is on good form and qpr won't sell him. qpr will get promoted this season. there owners have put alot of money into the team and they are not going to sell players who are on good form. Has anyone actually seen who there owners are. they have 2 owners, 1 is easily in top 3 richest in uk and the other is in top 10. so from these stats you will see they are very rich. do not need to sell and will keep buying in summer. they will only sell players who arent performing and dead wood. So this rumour won't happen. But i do agree he is good player. u agree ed?

{Editor's Note: I agree.}

Why on earth does it say on lfc transfer column that liverpool can't make 2 major signings, cos they have limited funds, , , nesv or john henry has never said how much funds will be available they basically said find a target come to us and we will decide if hes worth the money lol papers talk absolutley sh* e. am i right ED

{Editor's Note: I don't know what you are talking about I am afraid.}

on the liverpool site on the transfer gossip, on the c.cole priced out one from metro it says;

Hodgson wanted to add Cole to his attack, but has limited funds and desperately needs a centre-half to replace the injured Jamie Carragher.

But he cannot afford to make two major signings, having already been told he will not have much money to spend before next summer.

{Editor's Note: It is just a very brief piece from a LOndon free paper. I wouldn't worry about it, but what are you expecting to happen in January?}

It's because websites, papers and other rumour sites were using the gossip column on the LFC Website and posting them with quotes used and making it out as if it represents the position of the club and saying stuff like "The LFC Website has posted. . . . ". Even though after every rumours it clearly stated in bold that it was just a rumour and they even stated the source and just quoted the source exactly.

That's why it had to be removed. Could lead to clubs reporting us and stuff. All the gossip is in the press section now.

Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac could be on his way, The Sport 10 network in France has said that Gignac's agent is trying to push through a move to Anfield
They say the 24-year-old is a tall, strong striker with great finishing abilities. He has great control and can beat defenders with his skill in tight situations. He also takes dangerous free-kicks.apparently?
The LFC site is also saying that Carlton Cole looks to have priced himself out of a move to Liverpool (Yippeeeee!) and he could well cost more than £10million. Well now that is good news! !
China Red.

Gignac joined Marseille at the closing of the summer window. He and Loic Rémy (remember him?) joined them at the last minute. We were linked with Rémy all summer, and Gignac's name had been mentioned once or twice. Arsenal were also linked with him. So, I don't know what to call this rumour, but it stinks. As for C.Cole, do I really need to comment on this?

It wasn't me who said we have agreed a deal, but to support what that lad said, I have seen it once or twice and someone posted a link on the Liverpool Website forums about us in advanced talks with CSKA.

Are we interested in Givani Dos Santos?

The Guardian seems to think so- here's there amusing but accurate take on it

"Giovani dos Santos is poised to join Genoa, leaving Tottenham Hotspur with a threadbare selection of only 94 attacking midfielders. Several clubs in Mexico are also interested, as are Liverpool, though the Anfield side doesn't sound like much of a fit to the Rumour Mill, what with Dos Santos playing on the wing and offering width."

He's been really good for Stoke and is English (a bonus these days). But I don't think he's as good as Agger or Skrtel. As a defender I think Carragher is better (although age is a disadvantage). Better than the Greek I think but we'd pay atleast £10m for him and he wouldn't be first choice in my opinion. Plus, time to slowly mould Wilson into the good defender he can become.

Hi all, ed great shout, Hoarau. Just watched him score 2 from last nights highlights. He's fast, strong and good on the ball. What's are chances of getting him? Is there any talk of it? Also would love to see Honda come in.
Lee the red {ed's note - one of the reasons he was mentioned is because Liverpool have had him watched this season.}

I see city are ditching lescott.
Maybe a good shout for English left back. He played there for les blues and did well.
Ed any thoughts.
Ps would love to see an attacking left footer like AJ but I can't see city letting him go.
Cheers
W

{Editor's Note: I don't see a left back being chased in January.}

Its not only Liverpool who won't pay 100k a week for him. So he'll have to consider taking a pay-cut to leave City for any club.

According to sources in spain, Xabi Alonso is unhappy at Real Madrid. Tomato source beleives he will move to another country preferably Italy or back to england to possibly link up again with Liverpool according to Hoisen

No thank you. We have Meireles, Lucas, Spearing and Shelvey, we don't need him. He will only hold back the young players. We could sign him and trade him in for Llorente, Alonso is Basque.

Hi editor do u think tht adam johnson would be a good addition, how much do u think he would cost? and what striker do u think we are most likely to sign in january?
thanks

{Editor's Note: Johnson would be a good addition but may not be available - I certainly don't see him being available in January. His cost will be determined by how is playing at the time of his sale and who else is interested. As for a striker in January, I said previously I thought Hoarau would be a prime target but I am not sure that he will be available in January.}

(1) (2)

Why would johnson want to go to Liverpool he might as well go back to boro same level of football.

Does anyone know about Dimitri Payet? He was linked to us and I heard that he was praised by Damien Comolli. Did anything materialise there or not?

You can see there is a fallout between Jovanovic and Houdson. First when he celebrated the goal, it looked like he was proving Hodgson wrong, . 2nd in the post match press conference, hodgson mentioned about almost every player but one who scored a wonderful goal. Jovanovic is definitely leaving in January along with Babel and pacheco.
We will welcome Honda, payet and Lopez. these three can improve us a lot.

I am celtic fan as well as a liverpool fan (long story short when i moved to england dalgliesh was player manager) and to the guy who said walter smith is a poor manager, he took over a poor scotland team and made them good before then taking the scum back to the top. I agre it is a mickey mouse league but as much as i dislike smith. . good manager. On to rumours jave heard that mirko vucinic is on tje radar. Dont rate players moving from italian league to prem though. Cant thonk of a single one that has settled. {ed's note - Roberto di Matteo and Gianfranco Zola did ok mate.....}

I was on John W.Henry's twitter, and it seems that a former NESV representative called Eric Wilbur is critical of Henry's takeover of Liverpool, describing it as a PR stunt and saying other stuff which I don't understand. Was being abit of a prick about us tbh. John W.Henry called it nonsense on his twitter
===========================================

John Henry sat down with the BBC recently for a one-on-one interview regarding his latest toy, the Liverpool Football Club. It appeared on the BBC web site the same day Henry's Lotsa Love Bear, the Boston Red Sox, lost their switch-hitting free agent catcher, Victor Martinez to the Detroit Tigers, with whom he signed a four-year, $50 million deal, or $32.5 million less than Boston was willing to hand over to John Lackey a year ago.

The two aren't connected, for as anyone who works for the Red Sox will tell you, no decisions regarding the soccer team will affect the Red Sox from a financial standpoint. They are completely separate interests.

And yet, in the navigation bar over on NESN.com, immediately after the Celtics link, there is now one for "LFC, " or Liverpool Football Club.

Silly, Boston.com has a soccer link in its nav bar too. For the New England Revolution, who play 3, 100 miles closer to Boston than Liverpool does.

Whether or not they want to believe it, the Red Sox have a serious image problem, and though the soccer team may not affect whether or not the Red Sox are willing to spend big dollars on the free agent market, the perception of New England Sports Ventures (or the more traditional name, The Boston Red Sox) diving into the soccer end of the pool does nothing to help them re-gain the trust of the fans who they had in their back pocket not so long ago.

But the "alternative" hats have moved on after three whole years without a parade, and what is left is the hard-core Red Sox fan base ready to pounce, showing the same angst and desire for accountability that it had leading up to 2004. Ratings are down. Interest has faded. And the Red Sox go and buy a soccer team.

It is the ultimate PR nightmare to misread your customer base. Based on their success and can do no wrong in this town over the better part of the decade, the Red Sox have seriously fallen into that category. Tom Werner is belittling Theo Epstein on the radio, Theo is comfortable with Jed Lowrie's WAR over MVP candidate Adrian Beltre, and Red Sox fans are force-fed soccer and racing news they have little-to-no interest in hearing on a daily basis.

The Red Sox can no longer approach business with the understanding that the public will buy whatever they are selling. More people believe in the Tooth Fairy than that stupid sellout streak, a disingenuous boast that makes you wonder about the front office. You know they're lying to about that. Why should we assume they aren't in other areas as well?

That's why when the Red Sox tell me the soccer team has nothing to do with the baseball team, I don't believe it. They refused to do anything last year at the trading deadline, Theo is rightfully pumping up the kids, and they just lost one of the best offensive catchers in baseball for pennies on the dollar. They're willing to award David Ortiz $12.5 million, but not the guy who carried them for stretches last season. Ortiz did the same, of course. As recently as 2007 even.

Epstein's "bridge" comment gets a lot of unwarranted grief but the theory behind it is sound. The Red Sox have a core of farm players they believe in, and based on the careers we've seen from the likes of Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, and Dustin Pedroia, they have every right to feel the next crop of players will serve them well for the long term. But you have to feel for Epstein. Here he is, trying to build this team for the long term, and his owners throw him under the bus for him not saying he'd love to throw $140 million at Carl Crawford or Cliff Lee. You can almost smell another gorilla suit adventure, can't you?

But there's Werner on the radio, promising the fans that the team will sign a "significant free agent." With Martinez gone, it's strike one. Beltre is likely to be strike two.

But who else? Does Epstein really want to give Crawford the kind of deal he's looking for? Does Lee even make any sense on a crowded rotation? Jason Werth? Where would you ever play Mike Cameron, who reportedly signed with the team last season?

Then there's the one guy that would make everybody happy. Yes, Derek Jeter.

In Jeter, Epstein would have the perfect "bridge" player, a guy who would draw limitless interest while the kids grew up. The PR department would have utmost glee in stealing the Yankees' franchise player. The owners, who love to needle the Yankees, would have pulled off the ultimate coup, making Johnny Damon's departure look like Willy Loman moving to Kentucky (would anyone notice?)

Best of all, he's a GOLD GLOVE-WINNING SHORTSTOP.

The Yankees have to believe it's an impossibility, telling Jeter to go find a better offer, daring him to leave his legacy in Favre fashion. If you're the Red Sox, and you have ratings and image problems, how can you not pick up the phone? Three years, $60 million, and Daisuke's jet for Minka should get it done, right?

After all, the Red Sox need something to revive interest in the team. Let Epstein do his job, for tossing money around aimlessly does little in the long term. Building a dependable core of players you can depend on - in any market, small or large - is the correct way to approach the game. It's the in-between part you have to worry about. But when he's got owners making promises and kicking around a soccer ball, it makes his job that more difficult and hurts his perception in the minds of the fans.

Jeter makes everybody happy and the Yankees furious.

In other news, Roy Hodgson was recently scouting Gervinho in France. I have no idea what that means, but hey, somebody around here has to shamelessly shill.
