Hey Eds, just wandering if Liverpool could be in for any of the Rangers players? Obviously due to their poor financial situation they must sell players and BBC Sport are running the story that their best players have clauses in their contracts where they have minimum fee release clauses. Any other teams across Europe or the world in financial trouble that may need to sell this summer? Cheers!

the_attaturk {Ed022's Note - There is no interest in any Rangers player that I am aware of. All I know is that Naismith looks very likely to join Everton this summer.}

Just a rumour I heard . Chevorelt the car company want to put a bid for liverpool? Any truth? N awl da best 2 brendon rodgers 4 2m and his liverpool manegerial career!
{Ed022's Note - No truth at all, Manchester United are the one with an agreement in place with them.}

Haha previously Audi and replaced with chevrolet, must be mirroring their current squad!

Red Grand {Ed016's Note - You don't want to be sponsored by Chevrolet. I had a Chevvy once, crapped out pretty hard. The new Camero isn't even really that nice. Looks like a fat Mustang....and Mustangs are crap cars. Unless you go back to the 60's}

Man Utd have an agreement with AUDI

{Ed022's Note - Brand new Player-Profile on Ryad Boudebouz. Liverpool have asked to keep updated on his situation so a possibility for the summer for LFC. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Heard that Charlie Adam might leave to west ham. Don't know what to make of that , but thought I'd share anyway.

I would rather have joe allen in his place. lucas, joe allen and st g together will make a powerful mid field.

Let's hope so. And let's hope he takes Cole with him.

I can see this happening. He's really not the player to fit in to a triangle passing style of team. I really don't see Andy Carroll fitting in to that type of team either.

Come on now, why is everyone on Charlie's back? He was actually quite good when he was playing alongside Lucas. I think when Lucas went out to injury, the team had trouble defining his role. I think he will be a good player under Rodgers.

Jolly Good

Ed's, any news about Doumbia, would be a great signing and not much that he can achieve at CSKA. Only heard 1 rumour, just wanted to know if there was any truth in it? {Ed001's Note - he has a very poor attitude, bit of a Hazard like rep, he is not actually all that good from what I have seen. The more I have watched, the less I have liked of him. He is angling for a move, but I have no idea if we would be interested.}

31 May 2012 20:57:42
any chance of vertonghen now that rodgers is taking over? he is good with a ball and would suit rodgers style of play

gento

Most likely destination is spurs

If he is looking for a classy ball playing defender then he has to take a look at mats hummels. Class written all over him.

He wants too play with his mate RVD.

But a Champions League team could persuade him otherwise according to reports from the Netherlands.

Don't know if true though.

So is coates

Ed022, can you do a player profile on Joe Allen. Some posters seem to rate the kid. I havn't seen much of him to be honest.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed022's Note - No worries, I'll log it for you now. I myself am not too sure why everyone seems to love him so much, but he has certainly shown promising potential.}

He seems to be a decent young player but with people calling him the next Xavi his promise may be jeopardised by paper talk, as also may happen with Oxlade Chamberlain of Arsenal.

ReemRed

I watched most Swansea matches last year (I liked watching them play- very entertaining!). Take it for what it's worth and many will likely disagree, but he's a good center mid who keeps play ticking along but I don't think a world beater or anything.

For me, he's a bit like Henderson maybe as a comparison, although I think Hendo works a tad harder, is bigger and stronger, and likely has a bigger future ahead of him whereas Allen probably has a bit more finesse to his game. They're around the same age though, so things may change over time. Just my thoughts anyway...

RDL

It's because the lad never, ever gives the ball away.
He's not an alonso type, but is somewhat similar to Xavi..?
Obviously I wouldnt put him in that class, but if the idea is ball retention and short, sharp passing, this lad is quality.

In Gary Speeds last BBC interview he said Allan was a very special talent. Diminutive player but rarely gives it away.

Dirks Engine Room

The reason everybody seems to rave about him is his pass completion ratio which was one of the highest in the world last season.

He is a very good player, although personally I rate Leon Britten better

Andy

If we do sign him, our future midfield trio (we probably will play a formation similar to 433) will be hendo and him behind shelvey

"RDL"

thank you very much for your insight!

dnedly

One thing you will notice is that when one player is mentioned everyone starts mentioning that player. Eg cavani, elm, lavezzi, ramirez. Most people posting have never seen them play but youtubed them lol

I think joe allen is a promising decent mid field engine lfc would be fortunate to have someone of his standard.Welcome to lfc brendan rodgers..

red blancmonge

Thank you ed

Is it true Bayern are now favourites to sign Luuk de Jong?
The Gooch.

Newcastle are going to sign him

Gutted.

Luuk De Jong would have been awesome. He's big like Carroll at 6ft 2'' and has a lot of agility.

Just in Germany on business, been chatting with a guy who has links to Wolfsburg.
Kjaer to link up with fellow countryman Agger, guess this means Skrtel could definitely be off.

Sven

Kjaer plays for Roma, but this could mean agger could be going to roma?

Brendan Rodgers likes players good with the ball that means agger stays and kjaer wont be coming

RED KENNY

Kjaer has been on loan to Roma, doesnt want to return to Wolfsburg.

He was on loan

Kjaer was only on loan at roma

Why would we get Kjaer when we have a much better player in Coates, who should already be starting matches?

True, Simon Kjær is not good enough, and I am amazed why he is even in the Danish squad for the Euros !

Hi Eds,

On the 18th I posted a comment regarding pro sports contracts and I said I had no idea who was going to be the next manager. I had heard a rumour from a colleague that FSG had been advised to look at Brendan Rodgers, but the idea was quickly dismissed. Now looking back at what I knew about Crawford and Gonzalez, I shouldn't have dismissed the rumour, still, you live and learn. What I can say is that three of the initial list of candidates were removed from the list following an initial meeting of the directors and two other people (have no idea who, an older guy with grey hair and a younger guy about 5 feet tall). The three names dismissed were Benitez, Mouriho and Klopp.

That's all.
YNWA

BTW, there are some interesting times ahead for the fans, a couple of great suprises and a BIG slice of good news.

Another bulls**tter

Chris in Tamworth

You cant leave it at that tell us more lol

Great suprises ???????????tell me more!!!!!!!!

Bull!! as normal ... goread macca's messages thats easier

Great surprises? Oh what may this be, a plea for attention from posters to ask 'what surprises' when quite obviously we have a BSer on our hands.

I vaguely recall your post and remember that I was frustrated at it's lack of conviction. A sort of "hit-and-hope" post which I dismissed as fantasy. Giving vague descriptions "grey hair,five-feet tall" smacks as made-up b****cks. My advice is to change your user-name, re-think your fantasies, re-post, get a girlfriend.....not neccesarily in that order!
ANFIELDPETE (6'4", lovely dark hair)

You need to give us some evidence! Cos all I can smell is bull!

Why do people always put poster down, we are all guilty of coming on here & wanting the next breaking story, putting 'info' on here together with your own research generally fills on the blancs & tells you if indeed the post was accurate. The news will be a D.O.F. (we all knew it was coming) New players (we all know the areas that need strengthening) and the big news will no doubt be new stadium or renovation of Anfield (with the news of Air China doing the rounds, it would not take genius to figure out its most likely a new stadium as renaming Anfield would cause uproar & closing stands to build would lose revenue)
M15rk.

Thanks for telling us.... nothing at all.

SMc

Is the good news that we're staying at anfield?? or anything to do with that situation at all

The big slice of good news is (insert answer once its happened) glad i could share.
Time wasten bell.

is it true that chelsea and city are interested in gaston ramirez?, and if they are would liverpool's chances of signing him be dramatically reduced or is their still a good chance he'll sign for us or are we even interested in him ? cheers

Not only would it be reduced
it would be non- existant.....

auntie annie......

Rodgers will be given £35million to spend and will sign:
Ba - £7million (release clause)
Boudebouz - £11million
Sigurdsson - £6.8million
Allen - £10million

He may also try and sign Saha on a free transfer as back up.

1 Swansea player and 1 thats been playing for them really? And why would we want Ba he has not done anything towards the end of the season? No manager at the moment he hasnt even signed a contract what makes you think he will have thought about players And also there is no set budget as the eds have said millions of times (seems your wasting their time if your not reading what they have said

Cheers JJ

Wow he hasnt even signed himself

Was wondering how long it would take before people start linking us with average Swansea players.

Is That how much boudrbouz will cost us ???? Surely not that much {Ed022's Note - He will cost roughly £6.4 million.}

Ba's £7m release clause is only to champions league teans

Doubt it... Surely Ba doesn't fit with his footballing philosophy?

Obviously we should be looking at wingers, CM/CAM and a striker, but I can't see Ba coming.

You do know ba's knee's are shot to pieces and the 7 million release clause is only to a team with champions league

Right then, Demba Ba's clause is only for Champions League teams so that is an obvious lie, Ryad Boudebouz probably won't cost that much but personally i think he could be a possibility, Sigurdsson is more than likely to move to Swansea, leaving us a week or less to sign him and Joe Allen, potential but can't see Rodgers moving for a young 'potential British talent', the owners saw how that went last time *cough, splutter Jordan Henderson.

These signings would be ideal!

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Gerrard Lucas Allen
Sigurddson Suarez Boudebouz/Ba

That team would take us back to where we belong!

Cheers edd that's what I was thinking 11m bit steep! What's he like ain't seen him just what people say he's good {Ed022's Note - I've just uploaded a player-profile on him. http://www.player-profiles.co.uk/ryad-boudebouz.php - there you are mate.}

Ba on the left of a front three? Glad your not the manager

That line up doesn't work

And u were there when FSG and Rodgers had a meeting?

31 May 2012 19:26:35
Adam Johnson, Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen all mentioned with Liverpool

We don't want average Swansea players...........

31 May 2012 18:15:18
Any interest in Arjen robben I have heard don't no if true that his contract is getting terminated after the fallout with ribery? Think he would be a good player to have if we could get him. He has the arrogance an attitude of all the top players think we need some more attitude as sometimes our players seem to nice if that makes sense apart from Bellers and Suarez maybe! Also I think he likes to be top boy in the squad and at Liverpool I think he would be one of the best players. What u reckon people ??? {Ed002's Note - His contract is not going to be terminated.}

Terminate his contract? dont think there that stupid seen as he would be worth over 30 million

JJ

So lets get adebayor, ballotelli, adam johnson as well. If we don't win anything we can enjoy reading the punch ups in training in the papers.

No chance on Robben

Behave. He signed a new contract since that bust up

He is to old anyhow.Stupid to even consider him a possibility.

Thougt it was to good to be true. So what them players maybe trouble now and again shows they care and don't like loosing all top players have that fire in there belly. Thats half the reason we are where we are players we have walk off the pitch smiling every time they lose If we had few more winners like Bellers Steve and Suarez we would be much better off for it.

He isnt to old hes 28 no chance of signing just saying 28 isnt that old

JJ

28 -29 few years left yet much better than what we have or have had in the last ten years ! We need propa wingers fast skill full beats there man and decent assist and goal rate as we never seem to be able to buy these kind of players like fergy and wenger do just slow wingers who can defend and protect there full backs a bit safety alltime get some balls and buy propa wingers and we will see the difference

28 ain't to old agreed mate! Wishfull thinking tho

Right everybody, I am from Hamburg in Germany and follow German and English football. This season Robben has proved that he is basically an overrated, arrogant and selfish footballer. Throughout the season his fall out with Ribery was evident, he refused to pass the ball to him, and the atmosphere was felt by everybody in the dressing room. Why on earth would Liverpool want to shell out £30 million for a player who can't deliver a cross, will argue with the rest of the team and get a brush of air past his face and collapse! No chance, would be an awful move in my opinion as he is an overrated t****r.

Yes, you are German.

Just a thought Ed's/Macca (in particular Ed002)

If you believe that Suarez will be sold then why does he feature prominently in the new kit launch? i.e. on the website, the twitter page etc.

Just doesnt make sense if he was going to be sold and he had damaged the image of the club then why would he be in all the advertising?

Thoughts?

Oh ye like when torres' 50ft picture on the top of the anfield shop

Simple, to sell shirts.

If FSG do decide to sell Suarez they will be Digging their own graves. Just my opinion

He will be sold, hes in the kit adverts so all us saddos will buy the new kit with his name on it then when he is sold we will have to buy a new one .. remember we are all fools to the money man

Guys Ed002 has sources and tells you what they are saying/thinking. If you dont like the news then dont read it but you can't exactly expect to
argue him out of what he has been told... {Ed001's Note - I just can't believe anyone would believe that being used in a kit launch is relevant. Do they not remember Alonso?}

Why don't people just drop the subject. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't believe he is going to get sold, what do you care what someone else thinks? In the end neither of you knows for certain.

Canadian Fan

Good point

They didnt plan to sell torres he asked to leave

Mate, it was the same with Alonso and he still left after modelling the kit then and all

Agree and would Rogers want to take over with are best players leaving?

How can some of you be so cynical and stupid. You are not fans ,just a load of miserable whingers.

Alonso was on the new kit advertisement the year he went

Mosiltov

Redmanj4t96ynwa

No one knows anything unless your the player yourself

Owen, Fowler, Alonso, Torres, all in PR images/kit launches before they were sold. He's in the kit lauch because next to Gerrard he sells the most shirts, whether or not he will/wont be sold is irrelevant to what PR events he is used in.

Drunken Haggis

If anyone knows anything about luis then they'll know he stayed at Ajax for a good few seasons before leaving. No doubt Suarez will ply his trade i a place other than Anfield before his career ends, but he wont be leaving anytime soon. FACT!

And who , may i ask is going to replace a world class player like Suarez? I cant name one player his caliber that would want to come to a 8th seed club that just apointed a Swansea manager. Seriously, I am praying that our best players stay because right now we cant atract top players as we are a mid table team.

Suarez isn't going anywere some people just like to bring our good players name into things as if there not happy that we have someone as talanted as suarez he''ll be wearin the new kit with pride

paul barry

I'm not an expert, but it's probably written in his contract. Whenever they launch something new this guy and that guy have to appear. Same with charity events and etc. since Suarez is still our player he had to do that, whether he likes it or not.

Suarez images means nothing. Do you expect the club to make it so obvious if he is leaving?

The more Suarez keeps bleating on about how happy he is, the more likely something is going on behind the scenes in Italy.

Great player, but I would be shot of him given the chance. Just not worth the continuing grief. And it will all kick off again next season when we play United.

I seen somewhere they were offering suarez 100,000 a wk, skrtel a pay rise, agger a pay rise???

31 May 2012 17:12:27
will you make a player profile on luciano narsingh, ed022? {Ed002's Note - I'll ask.}

Yes please that would be great :D

31 May 2012 16:56:01
Just remembered that Chelsea have also signed Marko Marin for a mere £6m.... we need to spend big this summer as we are being left behind!

Give the manager a chance he just walked in

Red raj

Like most teams we are not owned by a sugar daddy oil baron, did you forget that?

Our owners are richer than the two so called sugar daddies in the league u moran! {Ed002's Note - Actually they are not, but it is irrelevant.}

Rodgers hasn't even sat in the managers seat yet!

No but we still need to spend quite a bit to keep up

We spent big last season its not about spending big its about buying the right players available

True, if we don't go again and spend a
few bob we will always be in the top4
slipstream,no good employing the
next great up and coming manager if
your not gonna give the tools to work
with,if he wanted to penny pinch he
could of stayed at swansea.....now we'll
really find out what the new owners
are about,the signings will tell us if
were serious about taking the club
back to the top......

auntie annie.

We need to spend wisely,big or not. When I look at some of the players available for under 20K I am just baffled at how we spent so much on Downing who has never been more than an average player.

We're owned by a consortium of people, not a single individual. John Henry is a principal, but it is by no means just his money involved as there are any number of investors. Do you not remember LeBron at Anfield?

Comparing the net wealth of all of the various investors to that of a Mansour or Abramovich is foolhardy indeed.

We have been spending big 135 millions worth!!

Eds, With Man City missing out on Hazard & predominately playing a 4321 (latter stages of last seasons formation), do you think 1) we will go for Adam Johnson? 2) would Man City let him go? & 3) who else are Man City looking at for their LW options?

I don't like Man City (any team that buys titles can suck a big one), I would just like to where we stand on Adam Johnson. Could become a LFC legend if captured.

Cheers

Weasle from Aus {Ed002's Note - It would not be out of teh question to see him sold - but there is nothing right now to say they will. They maintain interest in Lavezzi and Di Maria but I suspect that they will not get either.}

I'd love to see Adam Johnson at Anfield

You gotta spend money to win stuff. He's got a big attitude Adam Johnson so I wouldnt have him

Didnt liverpool spend £100m last year?

His attitude stinks,he think's he's the bees knees.That's why city want rid of him,so come to Liverpool and upset the new manager's regime.Of working hard,tracking back,keeping the ball,not giving it away needlessly by running into trouble.Yes bring him in straight away for a stupid price!

31 May 2012 16:05:22
Hi eds what do you think of afellay your self i think hes great at dribbling and hes got the pace to get down them wings beat players but if he got tackled he could get injured but for as little as 9mil if would be a great buy {Ed022's Note - www.player-profiles.co.uk - there is a Player-Profile on Affelay.}

31 May 2012 16:20:34
Mohamed Diame seems to be a good shout on a free. Did really well last yr and was Wigans outstanding player. Although i guess its far too early to be spreading rumours about buys etc. The new manager will be doing that so any talk of forthcoming transfers are false

If that's true then why was he droped towards the end of the season

Diame is undoubtebly a good player and on a free wouldnt be bad signing. But the main negative is going to be his health as he's got a heart condition.

31 May 2012 15:45:49
Can you see br selling sum of the players kenny bought or will he have to ask john w henry for permission

No Henderson is for the future, Carroll is turning into quality player and Downing is still one of the best wingers in league

Of course he will have to ask John Henry for selling any player

JJ

LOL "downing still one of the best wingers in league" dont make me laugh

Yeah the confrence league

Of course not! Rogers will have the money stashed under the floorboards!

Lolololololol at downing! hes 1 of the worst wingers ive ever seen!

31 May 2012 15:33:54
Liverpool will sign Gaston Ramirez, Boudebouz, Soldado and Belhanda. You heard it here first. Jed the Red

If he has full control then it will be up to BR

Soldado not happening and belhanda definitely not happening!

Why would you just put that?!jonny m

I wish lol

How i wish

WOW!......cheers son

Heard it here first? Been hearing the same names for months.

Ramirez and Belhanda along with a poacher would suffice! :)

31 May 2012 15:17:22
In my opinion the perfect long-term replacement for Gerrard would be Gylfi Sigurdsson..

What do you think eds?

Cheers

Phil

No that's what Jordan Henderson was bought for

Sigurdsson the manchester united fan!

I garantee 2 days ago you woulnd't have said that. Brendan Rodgers syndrome

Your easily pleased. half a good season for a swansea player unknown until january scores 7-9 goals. and he`s the ideal replacement for a legend like gerrard.

I havent seen anyone yet that could replace the quality of steven gerrard i think it will be very unlikely we will ever. The quality he has on the ball is astonishing you could just watch england last week as soon as he went off the passing stopped

Cheers JJ

Spot on JJ, agreed we may not see a player like Stevie G for a real long time. We're so lucky to of seen him grow and develop (at our and his club) into one of the very best midfielders in the world. Big footy boots to fill for any player. Go on YouTube and look at Stevie G's 168 goals film, I punched the air at every goal!

Stevie G is 1 of a kind so there is no one who could ever do what his done for LFC.
However in my opinion the only player who can and should replace him is Bastian Schweinsteiger

31 May 2012 15:15:27
Ed's I am very sorry to ask but please give me some sort of an answer! Do you have ANY idea who the other 3 from Swansea's backroom staff are, do you know there roles or what they do....Thanks a million...sorry if it's already been asked {Ed002's Note - It has, and it has been answered.}

Rodgers, along with three members of his backroom staff - believed to be Colin Pascoe, Chris Davies and Glenn Driscoll - will leave the Liberty Stadium to take control of Liverpool after a reported £5 million deal was struck

31 May 2012 15:15:00
For all those interested in Nick Powell, not good news I'm afraid. *(I know what you're gonna say about this info, but honestly it's true!)

I've just had my hair cut by the guy who cuts Dario Grady's hair (+ he was the announcer at Crewe for 20 odd years too) and he said Dario had said a sale to Spam was waiting to be signed immenently, with a loan back to Crewe for next season:-(

N.B. Rated the guy we got recently very highly too.

JimK

Did you get a good hair cut?Did he announce that you were leaving the building!

31 May 2012 15:12:25
On the question of player transfers, is there a likelihood that Rodgers' connection with Mourihno at Madrid will be used to attract players to Liverpool? Are there players at Madrid (or indeed anywhere) that might be more inclined to come to Liverpool if a recommendation about Rodgers comes from Mourihno? Is this a tactic that Rodgers is likely to use? Let's face it, he has alot to do to get a profile with continental players so he will need some vouching for by others.

Has chelsea (a club that mourinho still loves) managed to buy any of madrids players?

That's a completely different relationship though..

Rodgers will probably use his contacts from watford and reading to attract players he must still have contacts there!

31 May 2012 15:00:20
All over Croatian news about Liverpool high interest in Mario Mandzukic of Werder.

He doesn't play for Werder, he plays for Wolfsburg. This itself shows the reliability of this rumour. YNWA trustme

He Plays for Wolfsburg, so that rumours rubbish, FED up of people making up rumours.

Liverpool, Spurs and Bilic next club Locomotiv intrested in him, but looks like Fiorentina most active, according to Tuttomercato

Luci

How do you feel knowing that he plays for Wolfsburg

31 May 2012 14:33:56
i know caughtoffside, normally write BS but they are reporting that we had a deal for theo wallcott in place before kenny was axed, EDs do you think this deal could happen under rodgers, i know no one can predict transfers but what do you think? thanks great site. {Ed001's Note - I doubt it, they just copied it off an Arsenal wishful thinking site.}

31 May 2012 13:07:45
Hey Eds great site
I'm confused... Are we having a dof or not?
Also I heard sigurdsson hasnt signed a contract with Swansea so it looks like he's still available because he wants to work for Rodgers. Is that true?
YNWA

I was waiting for the sigurdson rumours, i have a funny feeling he'll be a flop like hendo but he would be a good buy for 6 million, we need that type of player with lucas returning gerrard can play that higher role and sigurson as a second choice in my opinion id rather have g.ramirez, we need pace from the wings a replacement for carra, maybe a new left back as enrique struggled towards the back end of the season. and if rodgers plays the football he did at swansea it may be a good idea to sell carrol and invest in someone who can take the ball at feet and have the ability to finish it without needing 10 chances to convert, dzeko and luuk de jong or huntelaar would be good price options but bayern are favoutites for dzeko and juventus too. winging options may vary from scott sinclair, adam johnson, krasic, elia, any two of these would be ideal, id take johnson and krasic/elia. would love kyriakos popoudopolous from schalke he is quality and young. any thoughts eds? p.s please play hendo in centre of midfield he is probably the worst right sided midfielder ive ever seen alot better in the middle.

Henderson is most definitely not a flop - maybe we now have a manager willing to play him in the position he was bought for - and that is not on the right wing.

John B

Thats because he is a central midfield player. Monkey The Red YNWA

We already have a replacement for Carragher, Coates hs ready and able. He just needs game time, and from what I know he is comfortable on the ball and happy to play it so that would suit Rodgers.

No matter what happens we back the manager, we know he can play good football so it's down to the players now to buck up and get learning, no excuses the manager doesn't know what he is at.

Dzeko, are u for real?! Carroll could fit in to Rodgers system perfectly but we won't know til he tries it! Great site eds but don't know how ye put up with all the BS posted

I watch swans play week in and gilfy is pure quality way better than that useless muppet hendo

Rodgers likes to play more of a 4-3-3 system like he does at swansea with a target man who can hold the ball and bring others into play .

Why sell Carroll he holds the ball up well and his touch isn't as bad as people aremaking out!! In fact it's pretty good....I feel he has finally found his feet at Anfield(no pun intended!) Matt

Heard today that a deal for Krasic is more advanced than previously reported, just waiting incoming managers ok. Why would we sell Carroll as Swansea always played their wingers to the byline and a cross back to the centre spot which is ideal for Carroll rather than asking him to play with back to goal

Carroll is very effective at receiving the ball to feet and bringing midfielders into play - its exactly what we haven't been utilising enough!
And Henderson, as already pointed out is a very good central midfielder.
Joe

A reckon city are in for gaston ramires seen as they lost out on hazard! really gutted but hopefully we have other good options.
Also it was well documented that rodgers had a 5m compensation package agreed if he moved on so why the hold up eds? they holding for more or are we trying to give less?

Hi,Eds

was just wondering if you knew of any interest in Alan Dzagoev (CSKA Moscow) by Liverpool Fc or anyone else? looks a great player and could be a bargain as he would leave ona free at the end of the Russian Season.

Cheers

YNWA...Rabbit93 {Ed001's Note - there is a lot of interest in him mate, he has been tracked for a while by a number of Premier League clubs, no idea if we are one of them though.}

Cheers Ed looks a great player IMO. could you tell me whe the russian season ends as i know it doesnt end when the majority of the europes does.

YNWA...Rabbit93 {Ed002's Note - He will be available in the January window after his contract expires in December.}

Martin Caceres on Suarez:

"It's true that Luis and I have talked about Juventus. He has asked me about the club without going into any details," Caceres stated to Tuttosport.

"I told him that Juventus are a team that always want to win. He liked what I told him about the club, but he's happy at Liverpool at the moment."

SLURed

Imagine the conversation.........

Suarez: This is such a long bus journey. .........So what's it like at Juventus? Weather nice? What's it like playing in Serie A? Cavani tells me he loves Naples...

Caceres: Yeah, its good! The City i beautiful and the manager is great with the players. Winning the title again felt so good. You interested?

Suarez: Nah just making conversation. That's all.

And somehow they make a story about this? Madness.

I wonder how he feels seen as though juventus are in alleged max fixing claims again!

The italian league is a joke and god knows whats going to happen to it now with all the match fixing no player worth the weight in salt will want to go there now

I'd happily tell the chairman of Juventus over the Phone that it will take a bid of £40 million for Suarez to be allowed to move.

Also, if he is to be unsettled further by your back hand approaches then it will become £50 million.

Just because the referee's in Italy like to blow their whistles for money, doesn't mean you can ignore Suarez's contract with Liverpool F.C.

We took a massive gamble on someone from a much weaker league, than even yours in Italy has become, and he has been very impressive in his year and a half so far, Suarez has got a 3 and a half years left on his contract and you would do well to remember that.

We feel that he has almost doubled in value at LFC and that is our price. If you were interested still in Suarez, then you've got 2 weeks to sort out the transfer before my phone is off for the summer, until a week before the season starts in England.

Ciao

hi eds an fellow readers

do you reckon any of these players have a future at the club under rodgers given his style of football

brad jones
doni
danny wilson
cole
aqualani
spearing
maxi
downing
bellamy
kuyt

i personally woulld only like to see bellamy and maxi stay

anyone else you think should be leaving the squad

gary c

Danny Wilson is EXACTLY the kind of centre back Rodgers likes. Pacey, good in the air, fantastic passer of the ball, comfortable on the ball, likes to move forward.

Doni downing maxi and kuyt is all i would keep personally, maybe bellamy as a sub

I would keep
doni
danny wilson
cole
aqualani
maxi
downing
bellamy
kuyt

Kuyt has no touch so he's gone

Yes everyone except Maxi, Kuyt and Aqua

I'd keep Danny Wilson, Downing and Maxi for 1 more season.

Doni wanted to return to Brazil I thought?
Jones was a pointless buy
Cole's a waste of wages
Aqualani is also a waste of wages
Spearing is not Champions League quality unfortunately
Bellamy can be replaced as he's getting on a bit now
Kuyt is too slow for pass and move

Both only have a season in them and not a full season for bellamy.

Hi Eds who do you think could be gerrads ideal long term replacement? {Ed002's Note - You will never of course be able to find a complete like-for-like player but Moussa Sissoko was at one time the preferred option and perhaps a good one.}

I think Sigurdsson might be a good shout?

Jonjo! .

If we're careful with him, I think Jonjo Shelvey could replace Stevie eventually!

Sissoko would be a greta option

Shelvey

Joey barton (jokes)

Fernandez Suso should be groomed fopr that role, he will be a quality player

Would love Moussa at LFC he is a monster!

31 May 2012 13:28:06
Ed, do you see raheem sterling in liverpool's future or he wants to leave us? Cheers
shivamlfc {Ed002's Note - There were unsubstantiated rumours a couple of months back that he was looking to leave - since then it has been quiet.}

Raheem sterling is staying put

BR will want to keep lfc's most prized youth players.

31 May 2012 13:07:33
adam maher is supposed to be a great young central midfielder making waves in holland

any interest in him?

Is he swimming in the sea on his jollies?

Oops martynlfc

What? Mexican ones?

From my in depth analysis I can tell you this.

Bought him on FIFA 12 for £10.5 million, his club said he had potential. Used him as a sub and in league matches. Good player, rocketed up to and 85 from 74 in a couple seasons.

Jolly Red

I really hope we get him soon he is going to be class and surely someone will scoop him up this summer

Oh well if hes good on FIFA we should break the bank... who needs scouts!?

We might lose out on Ramirez with man city and huge massively interested

31 May 2012 12:51:42
Rodgers first signings should be Muniain and Nick Powell. Part of the funding can come from the sale of Aquilani, Cole, Adam, Downing and Spearing. Top priority is also a new 'Xabi Alonso' whoever that may be.

Powell probably going to man utd and why sell downing and adam there good players i dont see why people see them as bad players if you look at goals through the season adam normally starts them or gets the assists as for downing he starts for england and is a quality player just unlucky this season sick of people saying to sell them

JJ

Give Suso and sterling a chance, both good enough, Suso could be our new Alonso, and would save us millions.

Joe Allen

Javi martinez

Answered your own question about Alonso mate, may aswell keep Aquilani and I can see Rodgers doing so

I agree, Adam, Downing and Spearing are atrocious

O my days why are people still sayin keep aqua man are you people just plain stupid? he doesnt want to play at the club pull your head out of your *** and get back to the real world

Why sell Downing and Spearing?

Have to say munian looks a classy player. but no champions lge is against us i fear

Rasmus Elm would do me he has some of Xabi's attributes.

im from wales i support liverpool my favorite side but i also love swansea because of my family, im happy for brendan but bit gutted like what will happen to swansea now such a good passing side, because i'm more liver than swansea i like to see brendan bring some players like DYER,SIGURRISON, SINCLIAR,ASHLEY WILLIAMS,BRITTON and the goalie VORM good players and give swansea some players the young talent on loan or something the likes of sterling and coady and players like that so nothing bad will happen to them. with brendan coming he needs to bring some swansea players to because some of the swansea players would get in our starting11, the style of football brendan got is the old wayliverpool played in the 70's and 80's such good to watch, look on what he done with swansea with the passing if he could do that with swansea imagine what hecould do with liverpool such a bigger club and better players with this style of football i don't think it would suit the likes of Andy Carrol, henderson and downing they can't pass the ball straight and what is carrol going to do he just there for headers we need to find someone which would suitsuarez better someone like cavani i know i'm speaking stupid money by here now butt they could be the partnership which we ad with rushy and kenny i know cavani won't come but we need someone like him. hope brendan does a good job he deserve it and im behind him all the way i wish him all the best with his future good luck brendan thanks for the swans passing and the teams good luck with the REDS and bring us back to the top four and the champion league glory again come on you REDS.

Your an idiot. We will sink lower with the majority of those players. Carrol is there for more than headers, he holds up the ball and is a good option. Henderson is becoming better in midfield since being moved to his proper position. And Downing isnt a bad player just has a lack of confidence by the lack of goals being put away. Otherwise he would have at least 10 assists and a few goals.

If there's one thing henderson can do it's pass the ball.

Come on bud, no need to call the lad an Idiot, he is just passing he's views and im sure would like a response to that, like the response you gave to him after the person part. Anyways welcome BR hope you are succesfull here at the mighty Reds. YNWA,
Johnny_man

Your are talking out of your arse......We have just taken their manager and you expect them to allow us to take half their starting 11 too! This has cheered me right up though, gave me some quality laughs! I bet your one the supporters who wanted Lucas out and got on Andy's back as soon as it didn't happen for him and now as soon as he is playing with confidence and scored some vital goals for us, you want to get rid and replace him with Sinclair ! Cheers for the laugh Big Mike

School holidays already??

Got a headache just from reading that post...ever heard of punctuation?

Anyway, you have no clue what you're talking about mate.

erik_oslo

Andy carrol is still nowere near the finished product, towards the end of the season he began to show some real enthusiasm and im certain next season he will be flying from an early stage, hes not just a head

Carroll will not fit Rodgers style of football....it just won't happen. Adam will have to be shipped out as well.

He may as well stay at bloody Swansea if he follows your idea mate.

The lads just giving his opinion on things and you rip into him? we are ment to be LFC supporters together, you wouldnt talk to someone in the street like it dont think its clever to do it hidden away behind your computer! BIG MIKE! someone who calls them self BIG says it all boy!

Hold on here a minute, I'm all for BR and his brand of football but there is no way liverpool should be buying half of a team that finished 3 places and 5 points behind in what was a disastrous season for a club like Liverpool..MonaghanRed

If you really believe Ashley Williams is a good defender, you must be insane. He's awful.

31 May 2012 12:40:20
jose enrique had a terrible second half of the season and i was wondering what do reckon the chances are of liverpool signing aly cissoko he is young and a quality left-back i think he would be a great addition to the club
YNWA
great site by the way

Aly Cissokho was a disaster for Olympique Lyonnais all season. Over rated, selfish, pretentious. And Lyon is one of my favourite team.

In France, he is called a "Tout-droit", a player who is just able to run to the goal, with poor defending and poor technic.

Shut up enrique has had a brillant season 1 of the best left backs this season he is such a good player

JJ

He can't attack. Like downing goes backwards or to the side.

He can't attack. Not comfortable going forward.

Cissoko was absolutely awful last season with Lyon

Forget that guy. Overrated

Why should he attack? he's a bloody left back!

and i've said it before, and I will say it again, if it wasn't for downing being shocking, by and large, enrique wouldn't have been trying to do the job of two players all match

I dont think he was at all, yeah couple of mistakes that happens to the best of them, but I would replace him with that t*at - Ive seen a few things slating enrique yet not much about Johnsons defending - he cost us more goals and he in my opinion is not a great defender so Id liek to see kelly get more minutes next season.

^last comment was that for cissoko or enrique because if it was enrique you are wrong he is still young just hitting his prime he will improve but you cannot just look at a player on youtube and have an opinion you probably havent watched him week in week out and enrique had an amazing season

JJ

Enrique's defensive positioning was poor in the second half of last season as opposition targeted him. He can't really cross or shoot and looks like he doesn't enjoy defending, look at Chelsea's opener in the FA cup final - more than once he made these mistakes...

"I dont think he was at all, yeah couple of mistakes that happens to the best of them, but I would replace him with that t*at - Ive seen a few things slating enrique yet not much about Johnsons defending - he cost us more goals and he in my opinion is not a great defender so Id liek to see kelly get more minutes next season."

Sorry in my post above I meant to write I would not replace enrique with Cissokho. Rate enrique thought he was solid and will make that LB position his own for a few years to come I reckon.

I must say i havent seen much of aly cissokho the season but enrique is good but a better left-back would strengthen the squad

Cissokho is a headless chicken with the ball at his feet. His control is poor. Keep Enrique.

Eds, any interest in Nick Powell of Crewe, it's as clear as the days long the lads the next Ronaldo.

Ozone {Ed002's Note - Not (from Liverpool) that I am aware at this time.}

The kid is a very good player and as a good future but to say hes the next ronaldo is a bit stupid,ronaldo is the 2nd best player in the world behind messi so please dont be daft but i do agree he is a good player.Terry

Why would we want him he sounds like another jordan rhodes crap and really over-rated {Ed001's Note - you have clearly never watched the lad play, because you are completely wrong. The lad is top class, if he keeps his head down and works hard he can be an England regular within the next couple of years.}

Would love him to come to us mate. He will play for England within the next 2 years.

Hi ed, whats this story about Gaston Ramirez??

Man City having the first refusal on the player. I though he was very high on our Agenda... Certainly a player even Brendon should consider. Would be unhappy to see he end up at Shi##y or Spuds.

And one of the first things Brendon should do is to get rid of Jay Spearing & Downing. Oh still can't believe so called King has wasted so many of our owners hard earned money on crap.. oh well he is gone sigh....

Bosco {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. They will not now listen to offers less than 18M euros. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions took place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. Whilst Napoli were very much favourites for his signature Manchester City are best placed to make an early purchase and his agent remains with an incentive to have the player move away from Italy.}

Hi ed's liverpools problem last season was scoring goals so i was just wondering if i say some strikers could you rate there chances in joining liverpool 1= not a chance and 10= definatly... saldado, j.martinez, berbatov, llorente, l.de jong, defoe and torres
thanks ed's best roumors site ever keep up the great work !!
{Ed002's Note - Luuk De Jong is the most likely of the bunch you have listed. We are not going to be grading them.)

Think the problem last season was not scoring goals

0 chance

How is javi martinez a striker and i wish people would get it into their head that torres will never come back to liverpool

Eds, Watched Brazil hammer USA last night and the midfielder Oscar, who plays for Brazilian club Internacional, was running the show. Brazil's game plan was press high, pass and move - similar to ours. Are you aware of any interest from LFC (or others) in this obviously outstanding young talent?
Cheers
LFC Brazil {Ed001's Note - no idea, I haven't heard of any links with him to us.}

Outstanding young talent - linked to liverpool? - i doubt it! {Ed002's Note - Internacional's Oscar has the attention of Barcelona and Inter Milan. Perhaps a little too early for a move this summer. I would be surprised if there were interest from Liverpool. His ownership is in a real tangle and Internacional and Sao Paulo are still fighting a legal battle over Oscar.}

Agree with the poster.

This lad is a class act from what I have seen and wondered how long it would be before he was mentioned.

Not surprisingly Barcelona's name has been thrown in there.

Unfortunately I cannot see us showing any interest but I think he could be deadly alongside Lucas.

RobbehLFC.

Ownership has been sorted. Internacional paid 6M Euros compensation to Sao Paulo and he is currently contracted to 2015 with a reported 30M buy out clause.
LFC Brazil {Ed002's Note - Thanks, I'll check. Certainly post the court case a couple of months ago Bertolucci made it clear there were on goining issues to be resolved.}

Quality player, very young but would likely be very expesnive and we have never really taken a risk with signing a young south american for a large fee. We had a golden opportunity to sign Aguero before he went to Madrid but were unwilling to stump up the cash - I don't think that philosophy will change regardless of how good Oscar is (and he is really good).

Liverpool scouts to recommend Dutch 18 year old Adam Maher to next manager, cheaper alternative to Christian Eriksen and as much ability and potential

FinglasRed

He looks quite talented. Would be happy, if we are after him. YNWA Trustme

Hey eds what do you tin of maher ? {Ed001's Note - not seen him play, sorry.}

Only 18 isn't he? Very talented player but still unknown if he could cut it - his talent is no secret, we'd have to pay a fair bit to land him, risky transfer perhaps, depends how much money the owners want to put into the club really - if they are only going to sanction (roughly) 30million pounds worth of transfers, for example, then I don't think signing Maher would be worth while.

Suarez pepe may leave .

All players at some point leave mate...

But they may not, right?

Alternatively; Suarez Pepe may stay .

Yet Suarez has comitted to liverpool weeks ago...

Best get use to this sort of news lads its gonna happen more often now.We will be a mid table team for a long time going by the appointments so far.Watch for the cheap players we go for next.Hard times ahead i dont want to sound bad but within a few weeks the fans will be calling for a new manager and we go back to square one.FSG does not want to spend the money simple as that so lets ride the storm till they go.
Eam

And the prophet of doom has a name ... Eam ! Seriously we call ourselves the best fans in the world yet so many wont give BR a chance ... do what a supporter is supposed to do ... support

Would give us a great summer transfer pot, as long as they left the premier league i wouldnt be too dissapointed,though we must replace quality with quality,which was Rafas downfail due to hicks and gillets antics

The best fans in the world would never call for their heros head kk,FSG are no better than hicks and co imo if i`m wrong i`ll be the first to post it.I will not support this appointment i will support liverpool fc i always have and always will.
Do you think i take pleasure in posting this (it breaks my heart )to see what there doing.prophet of doom no but looking for an appointment we can all agree on yes.The reason this man has being picked is he can run on a low budget and buy players for little money so we can stay in mid table and its as simple as that like av .
Eam

He can run a club on a budget, yet cost 4-5m, plus the 6m spent on KK's compo. Wouldn't it have been more cost effective to employ one of the unattached Manager or even better promote from within. Seems a strange way of achieving a mid-table position when you have already a mid table squad, to spend shed loads on getting rid of a Manager, recruiting a new one, buying in cheap replacements for expensive players all to achieve the same mid table position....

It might break your heart to inform us of these pearls of wisdom, but your twisting my melon trying to understand your logic.

It cost them 4-5 because Martinez refused to work under a dof and rafa could have being got for nothing but would need cash (which ruled him out).Really as a liverpool fc fan can you honestly say he is good enough i`m sure if you looked around you would see other clubs being linked to great managers as for us (now) we get a manager who has won nothing to deserve the post of our great club.The logic is this great managers attract great players (with money) as for the mid table team we are far from that if half of the balls went in instead of hitting the post last year we would of being fighting for a cl place,As for my pearls of wisdom which twists you melon is without the right money to invest no big name players are going to come play for Brendan Rodgers .Please sign your post next time so i can remember your name when your calling for him to be sacked and bring the club back to turmoil which we have seen far to much of.
Hope i`m wrong and your right that he does the job but we will have to wait and see.
Eam

You won't see me ask for his head on a plater, it's not my way. I beleive in supporting the club and Manager, until a problem is apparent, ie: Pinky & perky loading the club with debt. However as I have no reason to question the motives of the current owners or new Manager they will receive my full support. Football is a changing game and clubs go from success to insolvency in what seems like seconds. I will be more than satisfied if the days of doubt from less than 2 years ago never are seen again. If prudent financial and expectation management is the key to that then so be it.

I will take no credit if my View is correct as I hope you will not utter a self satisfying 'i told you so' if your prediction is proved correct.

Signed just for you

Mal

Well to be fair i am not very pleased with the appointment of Rodgers but i am willing to give him the chance he deserves, and if Pepe and Suarez decide to leave then so be it we are LFC and are bigger than any 2 players

In // Out.

Louis van Gaal // Damien Comolli
Brendan Rodgers // Kenny Daglish

Luuk de Jong // Dirk Kuyt
Luciano Narsingh // Maxi Rodriguez
Gaston Ramirez // Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani
Dusan Tadic // Stuart Downing
Mohamed Diame // Jay Spearing
Craig Gordon // Doni and Brad Jones.

Net spend: £20-25m, and we would reduce the wage bill significantly.

Poss 10 million spend just to dump kenny and replace him with big time manager rodgers so yor figures dont seem to work out esp add commolli comp and his replacement no this clearout would have paid for messi ..

Tadic? Not sure a great shout for him
And rather Ruddy over Gordon anyday

Well, not if you take into consideration KD's severance package of £8 mill as well as Swansea's compensation for getting Brendan Rodgers.

Not saying they are not good deals, but don't think your numbers add up.

Why don't people do research on players before posting. Tadic has already moved to another club, Craig Gordon is always injured, Narsingh is apparently moving to Fulham and I can not see us getting rid of Spearing or Downing. Plus Doni is a top keeper why get rid of him.

Tadic is quality,been hoping to get him for ages but seems he already gone,shame as he would set the premiership alight in my opinion

Agreed but i dont want to see downing leave, i know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but i have always thought he is great! would rather get rid of adam..

Absolute rubbish

Yes the wage bill may be reduced,but
are they QUALITY, to compete with the top teams you need QUALITY NO CHEAP IMITATIONS................

Koptalk is reporting that China airlines is the new stadium sponser... is it true EDs? {Ed002's Note - I don't know but it has been rumoured.}

Didn't Macca say yesterday that he heard about a deal with China Airlines.
Prelen

(no offence to the OP) but has anyone else noticed how often Maccas rumours get repeated on Koptalk a couple of days later, only with words like 'confirmed' thrown in to make it seem more 'official'?

China Airlies or Air China

Its actually AIR CHINA. I think quoting China Airlines was a crafty ploy by Macca to see who was copying his info!

Step forward and take a bow, Kraptalk!

Red G

Macca had wind of this yesterday

I've seen that on here a few times over the last few days. That's where Koptalk will have got it from!

And now we head over to the China airlines stadium. Has a ring to it lol... However got to be honest I dont care what the stadium is called as long as we get back to winning ways.

RAH, YNWA

Please dont use Ploptalk as a source in future, that website is a total scam.

Take no notice of Koptalk he is just some knobhead who gets to the paper shop before you do.
cobra

Macca being quoted on kop talk lol

Could it be ,Macca is good old dunk the punk giving away info for free :_)lol the mind boggles.
eam

Koptalk takes his info from twitter and here and anywhere else the fat scam artist cand get it and claim its from a source i should know to my shame i was a member got sucked in by the inside info claims but when i questioned the info when something appeared on twitter about a manager being linked he tweeted wot about this guy 2hrs later it was on koptalk saying it was from a source when i mentioned this i got banned

Koptalk is a massive scam - I was once a member too, I know stupid of me. Macca reported this over a day ago. Kraptalk are always posting everyone else info. I saw that they reported exclusive info regarding 10am press conference but every news site was reporting the same

What makes people think the likes of de Jong, Belhanda and Ramirez will come to Liverpool? These players want Champions League football. And who the heck is going to pay 10m for Downing? Get real please.

How the hell do you know they won't come to Liverpool?

Do you know these guys personally?

Have they come out and said they don't want to play for Liverpool?

NO they haven't, so do one you muppet.

They also like money and being a starter so thats real.

The first two will be that act that its Liverpool and ramirez will be that and the oppotunity to link up with Luis Suarez (his friend) and his Uruguay brethren.

If downing performs at the euros then we will be able to offload for 10 million

You do realise that there is 32 teams in the Champions League, not every player can play in it, so, some players, possibly even good player will inevitably sign for clubs who are not in the Champions League!

They might want it, but it doesnt mean they are going to get it! im sure the prospect of playing for a club the size of liverpool instead playing for a lesser club or sitting on the bench at a better club would be just as tempting

Downing wont perform at the euros he is complete and utter rubbish, always has been always will be!

And I supose you know what every football player is thinking and what they will and wont do! is your name mistic meg?

I havnt wanted to post this,due to fear of widespread disaproval,but has anybody watched Barry Bannan this year? I know he's young and isn't first choice,but he's impressed me when i've seen him play! Not saying we should buy him now but one for the future perhaps? Anybody else noticed him? Reminds me of James Milner a little! WelshBoyDave

Yup you were right to be fearful. However as you seem sensitive, I'll let you off any criticism from my way.

I thought something similar about Albighton just before we signed Downing. However, given recent events, i can only assume (hope) we are moving away from young british players and onto proven talent where nationality isnt an issue.

Good little player, great vision and a good passer but phyisically very small and I don't think he would be effective enough for us, especially if we are really looking to get back up amongst the big boys.

Hi eds, a lot of people claiming Rodgers will sign siggurdson as his first signing or Liverpool, I have 2 questions do you know if this is purely paper talk or is there truth on it and is the player good enough? not heard much about him {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely as he has agreed to join Swansea.}

I have read that the clubs have agreed a fee and he was going through a medical but he hasn't actually put pen to paper on a contract, so has he actually agreed to join Swansea? or just like Marveaux last year does agreeing a fee and going for a medical actually mean nothing until the player signs that contract. (BTW I am fully aware that Marveaux failed his medical and LFC were the ones who backed out of the deal allowing Newcastle in) {Ed002's Note - Liverpool did not back out of the deal with Sylvain Marveaux.}

Fair enough ed, I bow to your superior knowledge on Marveaux as I wasnt able to follow the story at the time.... {Ed002's Note - Liverpool made a lower offer after the medical concerns were considered, Sylvain said no.}

Any potential interest in Djourou or Gourcouff?

Djourou is known to be unhappy at Arsenal and he's just the athletic, pacy centre back we've been needing since, well, forever. At 25 he'd be coming into his physical prime and can fill in across the back four.

Gourcouff has just been cut from the France Euro squad and apparently been anonymous since his move to Lyon. I remember the player that lit up Ligue 1 at Bordeaux and maybe a change of country of manager could bring him back to his undoubted full powers. {Ed002's Note - None that I know of.}

I would rather put myself in defence instead of the horror show djourou

Djourou is terrible

Djourou is an awful player seriously have you watch him atal this season and gourouff has had a terrible season never looks interested in games anymore and really lazy exactly the kid of players we DONT need.

Gourcouff was terribly bad the last two seasons.

He has a strange and difficult character, he is too slow, and was a disaster for Milan and Lyon. Financially and as a human being he would be a huge mistake I think.

I would rather have taken his father as manager. With a tiny budget of less then 20 million euros he manages to keep Lorient in french League 1 year in year out an produces superb football and brings out great talent every year.
He has a football philosophy and uses unconventional methods to teach his system to his players.

Marc

Djourou no way!!
gourcouff i would have a go at. due to his from could be available on the cheap and is undoubtedly a very classy player

ed if sigurddson hasnt signed for swansea is there a chance brendan rodgers will wanna hijack their deal for him, i'm sure hed relish the chance at playing for us

wafa {Ed002's Note - He has agreed to join Swansea, I doubt Rodgers would look to "hijack" any deal.}

From what i understand, swanseas deal for siggurdson depends on rodgers being there, so with him going to anfield, that clearly wont be the case

I would like to see Liverpool go for Thorgan, 19 year-old brother of Eden Hazard. Eden, himself says that Thorgan is a better player than he is. He plays for FC Lens in the French second division, and as such has a much lower profile than his brother. At the moment, he would not cost the earth, but possibly in a couple of years, he could also be around the 40 million euros which his brother will cost now.
I live in Belgium and have been following the progress of the Hazard brothers ever since Eden came to prominence at Lille a couple of years ago.
This is a big chance to get a player early before everyone and his dog catches the scent.
Northern Git

Football Manager stuff here!!

By that you mean you've played football manager and happened to see there is another Hazard who is reasonably good?

Haven't a clue what you mean mate, I live in Belgium and follow the football there. Even though both Hazards play in France, I heard of them first through the Belgian news. Belgium has alot of good young players at the moment. Never played Football Manager in my life, don't see the point.

Ed's, have any of our scouts looked at Dusan Tadic, Ola Jon or Luciano Narsingh? They are all pure quality, young and relatively cheap. {Ed002's Note - Schalke have already a replacement for Farfan in hand by signing Chinedu Obasi on loan and were looking to Groningen's Dusan Tadic for next season although that situation has changed with Farfan signing a new deal. Interest in Tadic is also being shown by Roma, who had a bid turned down in January, Hamburg and Borussia Monchengladbach. However, Twente looks to me to be is most likely destination.

Ola John is moving to Benfica.

As far as we are aware there has been no interest in Narsingh from anyone other than Ajax and Fulham.}

Sigurdsson rumors popping up
now... What do you reckon eds? {Ed001's Note - no one knows yet, they are just making assumptions.}

Might be wrong but afterall this is a rumours site...

Been told Rodgers is in Boston talking to FSG right now. He is set to be announced as manager on Thursday as far as I know... People close to him tell me that he is gonna be the manager aswell.

Klopp was high on our agenda but we are finding it hard to lure him away from Dortmund, understandably.

-----------------------------------------------

Looks like I was right then...

You wasnt right you guessed it you had not been told anything you just looked at newspapers i bet if the eds looked at your IP address you probably would have had another post about martinez but we carnt see that because you have not named and wasnt that the time when they were in miami talking to martinez so basically i think and other people thought you just guessed

JJ

Feeling better now then?

If your looking for credo, where's your name?!

RG

No he was never in Boston, we have only just talked to him this week

No one likes a big head.

davethebutcher

Wow you managed to announce Rogers speaking to FSG on the 28th?

whilst you were so quick to point out that you were correct, it still took seven days to expand upon the Macca info from the 21st (see Macca rumours section for details)

1,rogers was never in boston, 2, you use the 2 names macca said

If Rodgers did speak with JH that would tapping up would it not as what was read was that the chairmen of Swans said no approach had been made untill recently. Nice guess though.

31 May 2012 07:00:06
hey eds, is luuk de jong signing for us? thanks {Ed001's Note - possibly, we aren't the only team interested so it is impossible to be certain, also I have no way of knowing if Rodgers will want him. But, I do expect the scouting staff to recommend him.}

He reminds me of a better danny graham so he might fit in with rodgers tactics

31 May 2012 06:22:28
So finally the manager is sorted. And we can start the transfer gossip.
Eds do you think Aquilani's game will suit B.R's playing style. Do you see him staying at anfield? {Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with the way he plays, Aquilani does not want to be in Liverpool, it is that simple. He doesn't like England. The only reason he is likely to stay is because no one else will have him, especially on his ridiculous wages.}

How much is he on ed?
max {Ed001's Note - something like 75k a week basic + bonuses and other add ons.}

If he want to go that bad,then maybe he will pay fee.Why Liverpool need to pay for his unprofessionall atitude?Serbian red

Not what he said yesterday, he wants to play football and is more than happy to come back and play for Liverpool

Why did he sign in the 1st place then?
taran {Ed001's Note - he didn't know until he got here what it was like, some people can't adapt to different lifestyles. Or just find the differences too great to cope with. He is very lazy in training, he could stroll around at Roma and then he came here and was expected to put effort in. I think that has as much to do with it personally. I know Rafa was extremely disappointed with the scouts after seeing him in training, he felt he was sold a dud, which is why he couldn't get a game even after getting fit.}

31 May 2012 05:19:45
Hey eds,
not sure if this has been asked but with the appointment of rodgers i'd love to see scott sinclair pursued any chance or is he signed on with Swansea? P.s rodgers is just what liverpool need fresh start and new brand of footy trust in LFC YNWA! {Ed001's Note - why would you love to see him pursued? What is so special about him? With his billy big spuds attitude, I am sure he will be looking to move on soon, but I personally really hope we go nowhere near him.}

Agree with you ed nowhere near Liverpool standard hasn't exactly been a hit in the premiership

Agreed ed i don't see why all of these simpletons think the world of him. he is well overrated and there is better talent out there for cheaper.

31 May 2012 05:00:12
Tried searching but not much luck.

Are the owners going to try and force a move for an American to LFC? Not asking about Dempsey, but I had read here and there that it might be a possibility.

Any truth?

Thanks

JCS {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

A high profile American player just makes too much sense, in my opinion.

That player is obviously Dempsey.

What U think of Arjen robbin people eard his contract getting terminated great player but but of attitude think we could do with a bit of that though as think most of our players are to nice except maybe Bellers and Suarez got that it of attitude that winners have!what u think {Ed001's Note - the Robben who just signed a contract extension you mean?}

31 May 2012 01:44:10
Hi Ed's, i understand the club's transfer stance is slightly ambiguous now, with us bringing in a new manager. But what are our chances of signing roberto soldado? i believe he is much more realistic than the likes of cavani or falcao? cheers South Aussie Red {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado as have Milan and PSG. At about 25M euro or more Soldado would not be cheap but I think he would be a great option if he could be lured to Anfield.}

I also have a feeling that tells me Soldado is gonna end up at Liverpool. .Luuk De Jong is a cheaper option.

Rafa should of signed him years ago when he was at madrid then at osasuna another on the list of top players rafa missed.Unbelievable people want him back

31 May 2012 00:14:17
ed answer me this the guardian says trhat Rogers will only have 25 mil to spend. I dont think thats enought to get in the top four especially with then renewed spendig of Chelsea. How much do you expect him to get and also will he get to use player sales to boost his budget. {Ed001's Note - it doesn't work like that, ignore any story about us only having X amount, there is no set pot.}

Do you think we will ever get back to the champions league? looks like we're settling in as a mediocre side now. {Ed016's Note - Don't be so fickle}

It's going to take time - there's no magic wand. If people aren't patient, we'll never return.

Doesn't BR have full control of football matters?

Is the transfer kitty decided on a per player thing? For example, if we were to go for Soldado we would haggle with the price and there would be a limit given to what we could spend on that player?

I don't doubt our owners for one second, this is an investment for them and champions league means more dollar for them. So as long as there's good reason to buy a player and they are proved it's worth while they sign cheques.

Could one of the eds let me know, cheers {Ed002's Note - Spending will likely be on a case-by-case basis.}

We will return one day but we are not man city, chelsea who can but whoever they want and for the people moanin about rodgers not been able to attract top players thats crap firstly we at the back of the que behind city with thier money united with their success and chelsea with their money and the fact they are european champions we won the carling cup hardly sets the world alight be patient we need to stop living in the past and lookto the future we are still a big club things will come good again but we need to be patient

30 May 2012 23:46:43
hey eds, posted yesterday some info i got from a friend in FSG regarding couple transfers who were beeing worked on... He dropped by me at work today for a chat and actually gave me some more info... He said one players is allready secured, supposedly is mr. Henry who is fan of this player and will be confirmed at beginning next week... The other guy there was some issues regarding agent fee and wage demands, but transfer fee was agreed couple days ago... It is a young south american who plays in serie a... When i asked straight up if it s gaston ramirez we are talkin about(def one of my fav to watch this year) he said he was sorry but coudnt give me more detailed info, but i have to say thats the feeling im stuck with after he left...
This is good friend and very serious guy, i do believe what he tells me is the truth, even though he has nothing to do with LFC.
plz dont butcher me if its not gaston ramirez, this is only my guess

Cheers Scott, boston.....

What whas the transfer rumour you posted yesterday i cant find it?

Jpow_LFC

Could be Coutinho...?

Please eds, stop posting this bs "im friends with some guy in FSG".... Or do u really consider this as belivable?
Atleast name the guy you are friends with.... {Ed001's Note - no, I just thought it was funny that he thought this was believable.}

I know this sounds like crap, but i cannot believe my buddy is makin this up... As for the name i did post it to the eds in my first post, but i dont want it on a rumour-page, so i asked them to remove before posting...
Scott

People ask for good rumors and shoot someone down when it seems like an honest one to me. A rotten bunch on here. Thanks for the rumor mate let us know if you hear anything else. And possibly that name ;) {Ed016's Note - Rumours will always be treated that way. It is the nature of them. There are pessimistic people and there are people who believe everything and people inbetween. Of course there is varying reaction to every post on here. But yes the majority of it is negative and shooting down rumours, but most of the rumours are pretty unreliable...such is life}

Thanks Scott, in my book people are still innocent until proved guilty I have my fingers crossed that you are one of the very ,very few that has something worthwhile to post.

If Chelsea buy hulk what are the chances on sturridge leaving and coming to us and even if hulk doesn't what are the chances
Thanks
Will {Ed001's Note - why does it matter? We play pass and move football, Sturridge doesn't know how to pass the ball. I am not sure he even knows the word exists.}

ED01 Finally someone who sees sturridge for what he is , i am so glad we never accepted him in the Torres deal, Greedy on th epitch and off it.weird how players like Henderson and Caroll get slated by the media and big up players like sturidge who in my opinion is just not good enough . {Ed001's Note - Sturridge looks good in youareatube clips and one MOTD, you don't get to see how poor he is in the other 85 min of a match in those.}

We could change our tactics to suit Sturridge - pass him the ball then make some bacon butties and a pot of Darjeeling until it's time to defend again. Not sure how well it would work though.

cozinoz

Well said ed, rarely see this lad pass, he also shoots alot and still doesn't score much goals, hasn't learned at chelsea or man city why should we take him

Lol eds

To be fair tho we have the same problem with Suarez

Shmickles {Ed001's Note - but Suarez has shown signs of learning, I think, with him, it was more because he was going through a barren spell and was desperate to score.}

Why would we want Chelsea's cast offs? lets leave it the other way around shall we while we build for the future with players who are able to play the way our new manager believes in. God luck Brendan.

Exactly ed. there is reason why him being dropped coincided with chelsea saving their season.

In fairness ed, we passed the ball until we were blue in the face last year and look where that got us ! What we lacked was someone to stick the ball in the net, and Sturridge has shown he can certainly do that. Still would have to go with Clint Dempsey for me though as a good, proven and relativley cheap option

30 May 2012 23:23:16
I would sign Boudebouz, Affelay, Elm and Luuk de Jong. Shouldn't cost more than 25million for all four of these players. What do you think the chances are Eds?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

LewRed1 {Ed001's Note - all are possible, but it would be a huge risk to sign Afellay following all his injury problems. His cruciate ligament injury was following on from a prior muscle injury, he seems to have a weakness.}

Affelay is highly injury prone, he can't handle Spain, what in the World makes you think he can handle the Premier League?

He'd be on the medical bed for most of the season and you'd have thrown the best part of £8 million down the pan.

This Affelay to Liverpool F.C gets my goat every bleeding time i read it.

Eds,with reference to Affelay,nothing ventured nothing gained!Fergie took a gamble with Van nistelrooy and got a right result !! B {Ed001's Note - difference is that the issue with Nistelrooy was just the same as Bellamy's. Affelay's is more akin to Darren Anderton's.}

I remember a certain Ruud Van Nistelrooy having 'a weakness' after his ligament was damaged again in his rehab.... didnt stop him being the player he became. {Ed001's Note - he had a knee issue, not the same kind of injury problem at all.}

L. De Jong - about 12.5M
Elm - reportedly 8M
Affelay - reportedly 6M
Boudebouz - also about 6M
total is 32.5M {Ed016's Note - I think you're not too far off the mark. But you never know what happens in silly season. The only name I think may not come is Affelay, but we will see. L De Jong was linked heavily throughout the past year and I think but do not quote me that Ed02 thinks that Elm and Boudebouz are also targets we are keen on. But again I can't speak for ed02.}

With respect Ed the only thing akin to Darren Anderton is an old dear in wrinkled stockings hoovering up ''Rich Tea'' crumbs whilst watching tele-bingo !!B

Im with ed001, look at demba ba for example, injury prone but did a good job. Similar to van nilsteroy, its his knee. Btw eds whats lucas's injury again? N does that injury put him in the same bracket as affelay or is it a 1 time thing?

Kaizer

Boudebouz and luuk de jong alone would cost 25m
