I am extremely confident that Liverpool will sign Scott Dann and Jose Enrique before the transfer window closes. From what I can gather from numerous reliable sources, a deal has already been agreed for one of the above mentioned players. As of yet, I do not know which players that is, although I would take a guess at Scott Dann.

I have just returned home from a family wedding in England and have noticed that the Irish press are reporting that KK is on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Gary Cahill.

I had heard over the weekend that Scott Dann was a done deal and that Liverpool are considering selling Daniel Agger to Bayern Munich with Phillip Lahm coming to Anfield in a separate deal.

My cousin's husband who is a physio at Everton reckons that there are rumours of Nathan Eccleston and/or Ngog going to Goodison on loan. I don't know if this means that KK wants to take someone across Stanley Park though.

Anyone know if there is any substance to these rumours please?

Liverpool to make a move for Crewe's England U-17 striker Max Clayton.

31 Jul 2011 21:40:42
Ed002, I have a feeling that atleast 2 players will be off our wage bill before this coming Friday or are my hopes to high? Perhaps one Italian and Serbian? That should free up the wage bill quite a bit and the we can sign more players. :)

Red4ever {Ed002's Note - I would not be surprised to see a couple off the wage bill this week. Also, at some point I expect a couple more may be told they can leave on a free transfer. Eventually we will get to the point where contracts will be cancelled, players paid up and released.}

31 Jul 2011 19:00:05
Please fellow Red, let's get realistic. A.Johnson is NEVER going to happen in this transfer window. Since Kenny, owners and co have come in, we have revamped our attack and midfield. In my opinion, Liverpool will know only concentrate on defence. Dann and Enrique are most likely. But we may not even go for a LB. Cheers.

Good evening eds What u reckon on SWP, hes got great pace and hes not wanted at citeh, and surely he'd add depth to our squad Cos theres no way theyl sell us JOHNSON that aint going to happen. Wots your thoughts ed? {Ed002's Note - I don't suppose it is entirely out of the question but would fear a massive backlash from the fans if it were to happen. I very much doubt you will be cheering on SWP at Liverpool this season.}

31 Jul 2011 18:45:01
England international (Adam Johnson) admits he doesn't always see eye-to-eye with Italian but is pleased that reports linking him with summer exit have been put to bed

Seems he will be staying at city, he is on great form at the moment.

31 Jul 2011 18:09:37
ed, who do you think we will sign before pl starts? {Ed002's Note - I provided a definitive list last week. You'll have to look it up in the archives.}

31 Jul 2011 17:33:25
I am sure that everyone agree's that A. Johnson would be a great signing for Liverpool (speed, dribbling, crosses, british, young). Here is the catch; Man City would not sell to Liverpool, cost too much at the moment, we don't have the money at the moment, CD is a higher importance to the club at the moment. I can only hope that everyone will think about this and settle down about the rumor before everyone gets distraught when it does not happen. Like it or not when the eds and most of the time macca says it is a possibility or it is way off base then I suggest you listen, they have been right everytime. And pls stop taking what caught offsides says and listening to them, it is a joke. Thank god the Villa, Mata, Aguero rumors after years will be put to bed And now no Forlan, Johnson, sturridge etc. Its great to see excitement but lets keep grounded.

whats the talk amongst the edds to which players are rumoured to maybe come in, no dodging now , ;-0
irish kop {Ed002's Note - The Eds have nothing to say on the subject. I will occasionally pass a moment or two with them but they seem far more interested in guy stuff, like acne cream, chicks and monster truck racing.}

Ed's.

You say Lille, Schalke and Napoli have all made bids for Chu Young, do you know how much they have offered for him?

Thanks, James. {Ed002's Note - No but it will be around 6-8M euros.}

31 Jul 2011 16:09:10
So Ed if i understand well Park Chu Young wants to join Liverpool, but Liverpool didn't bid for him?Right now everything's still on enquiry.Probably waiting to get rid of Ngog first. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what Park Chu Young himself wants but suspect he would have a preference for Liverpool over Napoli, Lille and Schalke 04.}

31 Jul 2011 15:13:43
Eds, any news on Gary Cahill PLS? {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath just yet.}

31 Jul 2011 15:05:02
I live in Neath (Wales) and a lad i know played for Swansea for a fair number of years and got released last season, was speaking to him last night and he reckons are lining up a bid for Swanseas right winger Nathan Dyer? Bit of a strange 1 i thought but just thought if Ed had any information on it? Please post this message {Ed002's Note - None.}

Hey eds, I have recently heard that we have been offered Diego Forlan on loan, is there any truth in this?

Milan Jovanovic's long winded, and long drawn out, exit from Liverpool could come this week?
He said 'On August 2nd I will know whether or not I will move to Anderlecht' 'Then I have a meeting with the board. The interest is serious and the board really wants me.
'There is a big chance an agreement will be made.'
I wish I was as positive as he is as in my honest opinion I don't expect the Serbian international to complete a return to Belgium, I'd like him to but his wage demands will most likely scupper the move as he'll have to take a huge pay cut from his £65,000 (reported) weekly wage at Liverpool to complete the move to Anderlecht.

Another aquilani in my opinion

just read in sunday world in northern ireland here that king kenny is very confident of signing gery cahill this week the deal is nearly done just tying up a few things , anyone here anything

31 Jul 2011 14:05:28
Was told that we have been looking at a Belgian midfielder. Wasn't given any clue as to who it might be though - it could be Hazard but i see that as extremely unlikely due to huge sums of money involved and player lack of enthusiasm for a transfer to ourselves. It could be Witsel but apparently he dreams of playing for Arsenal(?). It could be Defour but i think he signed a new contract recently (confrimation anyone?). It is my belief then that we are chasing Jan Vertonghen.

Defensive midfielder and versatile defender, he's young and i think it would make a lot of sense if we could sign him (he does fit in with our current transfer policy as well). Transfer fee? No less than 15 million quid would get him in my opinion.

No guarantee's folks this is just what i deducted from what i have been told - we may not actually sign any Belgians.

On Tuesday Jovanovic will sign for Anderlecht and Kennys will move Quickly to sign Adam Johnson from Manchester City dont know the fee. Ngog will move to Bolton on Loan sometime that week and Park Chu Young will sign for 7million Euros. then 2 more signing in the rest of the window. Scott Dann 8million Jose Enrique 7million

Edd would like your thoughts ? {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure about Mr Johnson I am afraid.}

31 Jul 2011 13:30:38
Ed, how likely is it that we will sign the following:
- Scott Dann
-Park Chu Young
-Shane Long
-Daniel Sturridge
-Aly Cissoko
-Jose Enrique
thanks very much xxx {Ed002's Note - 7, 6, ?, 1, 3, 6}

31 Jul 2011 13:28:05
my uncle works for everton football club and his best mates cousin is the liverpool caretaker and he said that he saw daniel sturridge's car in the carpark but didnt see him and in the morning it had gone.. any truth in this do you think? would be exciting lol x {Ed002's Note - If it was Daniel Sturridge's time machine then I would have to say that this is 100% true as he would have used it to get back from the game he was playing in Hong Kong last night. Nailed on then.}

31 Jul 2011 13:23:00
Hey ed, in regards to any potential move for Dann, are you aware if he has overcome his injury, or is he still in the rehabilitation process?

DownUnderRed. {Ed002's Note - He should be fully fit now.}

31 Jul 2011 13:07:57
Ed, are we actually interested in Park Chu Young?

I think he looks quite good and would be a very useful player to have.

I know it was only in the rumour section, but I've read a couple of times now that we are interested and he wants to join us... {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry made, so to some degree yes.}

31 Jul 2011 13:09:21
Irish sunday world claim this morning that liverpool are very close to signing gary cahill for 20 mill (euro). The sunday world usually have substance to back up what they claim so hopefully its true.

31 Jul 2011 12:29:06
Not so much a rumour, justa thought... Adebayor? Madrid dont want him, manc's dont want him? {Ed002's Note - 1/10.}

31 Jul 2011 12:04:30
Hi Ed,

Any chance of us getting Ryan Shawcross?
He was linked quite often with us in the past
Interests seems to have waned since the Ramsey episode
How do you rate him in comparison with Cahill and Dann?

SRK {Ed002's Note - Unlikely - Dann remains more likely than the others.}

31 Jul 2011 11:43:52
Hey Ed all this rumours about Mccarthy, any truth in us sending a bid for him?I know we were interested, but i thought we chose Henderson instead?They seem to be similar type of players. {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry at the start of the summer and Liverpool baulked at the £20M price tage. I don't know of any bid.}

31 Jul 2011 11:18:22
Ed is Enrique really in Liverpool or are people just jumping on the bandwagon. Great site keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - I have no idea where he is, sorry.}

31 Jul 2011 11:17:11
Ed any truth in these Enrique in Liverpool signings or is this just wishful thinking?

Also have seen a few people say that The Korean Striker is on his way, again has something Happened in regards o this? I know u said Lille and another have tabled a bid but heard nothing about us.

Thanks as always

Sisco {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in both players and Liverpool did have abid rejected for Enrique at the start of the summer. Both are viable options.}

Liverpool scouts at the audi cup watching byern v ac milan... who could they be after??

31 Jul 2011 10:38:53
I know that these sort of sightings are generally stupid. But I can tell you that I have definitely saw Enrique in Liverpool. I didn't believe it at first but other people have posted a similar thing. I never saw him in any estate agents but I saw him in the city centre.

Also, I was in the bookies in Liverpool city centre opposite Meet Quarter yesterday, and the girls on the counter and other people said that Charlie Adam was in there all last night (Friday). He was being bombarded for autographs etc. Bit stupid to be betting in the city centre, what did he expect?

31 Jul 2011 10:29:14
I Am in London but my cousin just text me saying that Enrique is defo in Liverpool?

So everything on here has just about been spot on.
It looks likely Monaco's striker Park Chu-Young will be signed by the end of the week (will be a good buy if only for far Eastern shirt sales although will be a better fall back striker than Ngog).
It's also looking increasing likely that in the next 10 days bids for Birmingham's Scott Dann and Newcastle's Jose Enrique (both position's that need some re-inforcement) will be made.
I've read some rubbish and fears on here about the quality of our signings and form in pre-season, but come on guy's, most of these players are all PROVEN in the EPL and should hit the ground running.
Pre-season match's are never taken too seriously and from what i have seen KK has given the guy's he want's shot of an opportunity to show other clubs what they are capable of.
We ALL wanted KK back as manager, NOW is the time to stop ALL this moaning, Give him 100% backing and get behind him and the club.
Let's not get above ourselves for his first full season, a top 4 finish is achievable, and if are up there come Feb/March then the premier league may be ours for the taking.
I also think missing out on Europe may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for us this season as we can concentrate on domestic matters.
Good luck LFC for the coming season.

I have been told by my source which is a medic at Liverpool, McCarthy will sign a week on Wednesday for £15m. He revealed that he's arranging a medical for the player.

Morning all.

Anyone know if fanatix is a reliable site? It claims the fairly obvious this morning that we're looking at Dann (8mil) and Enrique (7m).

I know most of you want Dann as do I. He's the best option available right now, a great organiser and a natural successor to Carragher.

As for Enrique, personally I like him and think he's a reliable choice. He's got good (perhaps not great) attacking and defending abilities with scope to develop. He's got EPL experience and would fit in straight away to the team. I know most want the more glamerous Periera or Cissoko but I just can't see us spending that much on a left back (Lyon will ask for more than the 8-10 mil reported surely).

Essentially at 15 mil we're getting two quality players for the price of an expensive centre back (Jones) or left back (Periera), which is a good bit of business in my eyes if it goes through.

Ngog's agent is in talks with Everton for a year loan spell with a view to buy.

31 Jul 2011 01:44:08
do we have a chance of getting kaka, as he is available at the right price and with gerrard injured does he stand a chance or is this just impossible? also have we made a bid for park chu-young as sales in asia would basically make him free and is also a decent striker (man utd did this wwith ji-sung park and look what they got)
cheers,

Monaco's 26-year-old South Korean striker Park Chu-Young looks to be heading to the Premier League to play for Liverpool.

Hope so :)
