Hi ed just wondering what is the availability of schurrle? I think he plays for Bayer levurkusen. He is young and would provide us with pace and he's a good finisher. And what price would he cost? Cheers ed great site {Ed001's Note - they are not looking to sell him, though I am sure they would be tempted by a big money offer. No idea how much that would be though, not sure why anyone cares to be honest. I don't understand this obsession with player prices at all.}

Just a question ed, do u know of any german players liverpool are looking at? scouted or enquired? anything.

Kaizer {Ed001's Note - Podolski and Hummels are the only Germans I can think of off the top of my head we have defo looked at this season.}

Wow Hummels. I dont think we could get him, but

Enrique - Agger - Hummels - Johnson

would be a very, very solid backline. haha. thanks ed.

Kaizer

ED How bout T.Henry on loan(bit like becks did at Milan), knows where the goal is.

BigD {Ed009's Note - Urrrm if it was on the table yes please, but it isn't.}

But if we made a loan bid he'd come as the mks season is over.

hi ed been a liverpool supporter for 35 years who seriously can you see coming in january cheers {Ed002's Note - I have said repeated what I expect to happen in that players leaving and long term injured will be replaced. Aside from that I suspect a right sided striker will arrive.}

Hello Eds
I know it's not a rumour (I can made up one but I don't want to make jokes on this great site) but I was wondering why on earth did LFC call back Shelvey? Don't they have more than enough great midfield players to use or am I missing something?
greetings
{Ed009's Note - Cover for Lucas in the instance that his injury is a long term one. Don't be remotely surprised to see him make a return to Blackpool in January provided Lucas is back.}

It's possible that Jonjo Shelvey's recall was on the cards anyway, as by all accounts, he has been playing exceptionally well. However, judging by Holloway's comments, Lucas' injury was the reason given.

Not sure i want Torres back .
though andy Carroll could use some time in the reserves to get himself firing again .
if we were to sell him he would give us a staggering financial loss maybe more so than aqua .
i do think that maybe its time to bring in connor cody sterling or morgan into the frame .
remember how old gerard and owen were when they came in .
then and only then look to bring even more players

i have been posting that Torres will come back in january and Carroll will go back to Newcastle on loan with a view to a permanent deal,for the last month but it has not made it to the site.
it will happen whether you print it or not!
From Theknowall. {Ed009's Note - Did you actually want this? Be careful what you wish for mate because it might just come back to bite you on your knowarse.}

Ed009 you made my day when i read that put down.

red rout

What rubbish...Torres coming back to Liverpool...Carroll is here to stay. The lad is showing signs of promise. He'll come good because he's working hard to improve and integrate in the way KK and SC want Liverpool to play.

Love it ed009,he will have 1 sore apse:)

Why get torres back... he is more bad than carrol. carrol has made 5 goals in 17appe and torres has made 5 in 33appe for chelsea. give carrol some time.. it was the same with dzeko, gomes and maybe more... he is only 22 years old.. but i hope they will loan him out, stoke or something, qpr... so he can get some games. and then liverpool buy a player like lavezzi...too team up with suarez, and when carrol is back better than ever, we then have lavezzi like a right/wing/attacker....

Comparison may not be entirely fair. Carroll was bought by our current manager, so presumably we hoped to build the attack around him. Torres was not bought by his current manager, who clearly does not rate him, and has obviously not built around him. Thus Torres has an excuse that Carroll does not have. I suspect neither of these players will be at their respective clubs come next season.

Why send Carroll on loan to Stoke? The main problem he is having is adapting to out style of play, surely sending him to Stoke would be of no help at all?
Kenny2

Carroll is rubbish whether he is our player or not. His game does not suit the style liverpool are playing. I for one hope he leaves reallty soon!

Steve

I think it is disgusting that some so called fans are not willing to stand up for their players and give them some time to settle Carroll is still finding match fitness after an extended period out of the games . When Torres was at Liverpool and playing badly for Liverpool the fans still sang and cheered for him Carroll deserves the same respect if not more , give the young lad a bit of time you bunch of bullies and he will come good have faith in Dalglish's judgement and the training staff who are working hard with Carroll and bite your tongue till the end of the season or nest season when i am sure he will be scoring for fun

Torress will never be welcomed back 2 liverpool bcuz he is a traitor in mine and lot of otha ppls eyes....for andy carrol hes total crap...he wud do good at teams like man u or tottenham but cnt mke it at liverpool bcuz we dnt play the football hes based on so sell him loan him or wateva as long as he not at liverpool

Torres could shine in liverpool

Great comment ED, really made me chuckle.

This seems near impossible to happen to me, but never say never in football I guess.

I for one am biting my tongue with Carroll. But he does look bloody awful at the moment.

The reason fans stuck with Torres is because he was an is world class...Carroll is fair to decent of a player IMO.

RobbehLFC.

I think people need to give Carroll a break, he's come into the team at only 22 and had only half a season in the premiership before the move. Kenny obviously rates the guy and continues to stick up for him.

I remember when all the so called Liverpool fans were continuously on Lucas' back and many still are but he was our player of the season last year and has really filled the gap since Masch decided to leave.

Before people start moaning about more fire power upfront I think now with Lucas injured the main focus has to be getting someone in who can fill the massive hole in front of the defensive line.

As a Newcastle fan i really do not think Caroll will come back and I would not want him back. Caroll has off field issues and seems to be doing what Torres is doing at Chelsea. Cheers for the cash by the way lads... up front to and a sell on clause on the lad too! Howay the Lads

Does anyone know much about eduardo vargas. His agent says we are interested, among other clubs. He looks a tidy little player.

GuvTOB {Ed002's Note - See earlier posts.}

Aaah...don't know why i didn't scroll down

30 Nov 2011 18:27:39
Eds if the rumours about Lucas' injury are true do you think we would look at Nigel De Jong from Man City? hes hardly seeing any game time this season and was quality last year and hasnt been bad when hes played this season {Ed002's Note - No, it seems very unlikely.}

NO. dont like his attitude! kicked Xabi during the world cup..

Kaizer

Hi Ed, is it true Shelvey has been recalled from his loan, just heard it on Twitter? If so, sounds bad news for Lucas!

Keith {Ed002's Note - He has been recalled, yes.}

Diego Cativa claims Universidad have opened talks with Liverpool, Arsenal and a number of other top European clubs, but nothing has materialized as of yet.

"The clubs are speaking a lot but little progress has been made," Diego Cativa told supervasco.com.

"We are talking with AC Milan and Inter Milan, who have made proposals, as well as with Liverpool, Arsenal and a number of other clubs. Interest from Vasco de Gama? They cannot compete with the clubs that are already interested."

The 22-year-old already has 9 international caps to his name and scored 2 goals for Chile and has been dubbed "the new Alexis Sanchez". {Ed002's Note - I understand that the only club to have made an offer and had some meaningful talks are Inter Milan. The others at this time seem to have simply enquired with the Liverpool enquiry being made by Caniggia.}

What's Caniggia? {Ed002's Note - It is a thick tomato based pasta source.}

I figured it was Caniggia the agent may have spoken to as he is our South American correspondent

Good evening girls,

Well I've heard quite a few rumours about possible incomings this January,

There seems to be mild interest in Brazilian midfielder Jadson, 28 yr's old, nothing concrete, but this is one of the rumours.

Also Renewed interest in Vargas, which I do not understand, I would not hold out any hope for the Vargas move, but whispers about Jadson.

Pistol

I made the same mistake as you earlier, it would seem the paper talk is about a different Vargas.

TSP

We are also linked with the Vargas you're talking about.

Ive heard we ae monitoring Keko from Athletico Madrid. Ed's?

Adzii {Ed002's Note - Keko moved to Italy in the summer. I don't recall where. As such it seems most unlikely.}

Hey Eds any idea on which players are the most likely to leave the club in jan? {Ed002's Note - I don't yet know if any will.}

30 Nov 2011 15:21:06
Heard a rumour Lucas injury is pretty bad, estimated time out 6 months. Scan will confirm this tomorrow.

Feel for the lad, we wont be as strong without him!

YNWA jns

Not confirmed yet so just dont make unwanted comments

Un-named poster - its says 'Heard a Rumour' which I have - it does not state as a fact.

Hi Ed's, there's a few people saying Lucas could be out for 6months, Do you know any players we would be looking to buy if the news is true? {Ed001's Note - can we not wait and see how serious the injury actually is before talking about replacing him?}

Its not abut replacing him its about getting in cover for a vital player that should have never been played in a mickey mouse competition. now we will end up paying over the odds for cover but its a vital position because of the way we play. Lucas is going to be a future captain imo but now we desprately need a loan signing asap. {Ed001's Note - every competition Liverpool enters they should be trying to win. No point entering otherwise. Also, winning becomes a habit, moral is raised by wins, it makes perfect sense to try and win the League Cup.}

I dont know if you read the article where he himself reckons he is out for 6 months....

Quigz23

Was it worth losing our ONLY DCM in the squad. time will tell. I just hope we dont lose league points or try and rush gerrard back again. Its not about throwing a game in the 2bob cup its about Champions League or bust. as far as the owners are concerned that is the trophy for this season. not 5th and a the europa cup

If Lucas is indeed out for six months I agree that would be a tremendous blow to our champions league hopes. But injuries happen Ed is right winning is habit and Liverpool have to try and win every tournament they are in with this mentality is the only way we will ever be were we want to be as the greatest FC in the world.

Joe Thunder

Coates should be tried in the DM position. He ticks the boxes for a good DM.

BooDaBooze

I don't know if you will agree, but this may give Jay Spearing the run in the team he needs to let him reach his potential....just an idea
Kabir

And there it is: KK is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. The King has forgotten more about football than many of us have ever known, but he should treat this "Mickey Mouse competition" like his predecessors, even though we're not playing in Europe. Injuries happen, and if he had trotted out a second-rate squad with a trip to the semis on the line, you'd probably be moaning about that today instead. The team is gelling and coming together, and that happens through meaningful competition; a team can also rally around an injury too, and if Lucas is out for a spell, I'm sure KK will use that as another excuse to inspire our club.

Remember where we were twelve short months ago, and be grateful for where we are now; great owners, a legend as manager, and a team on the up.

-Red Socks

I just hope, its not too serious. Hope, he'd be back soon. YNWA

I guess agger should be played as CDM.... he has got perfect qualities to becoming a good CDM... just an observation. What do you guys think ?

RED INDIAN

The way the Boys been playing I doubt we can afford a replacement as good as him!! How the tables have turned for him. Where have all his Slaggers gone. To sit in a corner with a pointy hat I hope!!!

Eds I've read that we could bid for Royston drenthe in the summer a bid of 2.5 mil doubt it true just thought I would share . Pops {Ed001's Note - it is nonsense, he is out of contract in the summer, so who the hell are we going to bid 2.5m to?}

Maybe 2.5m euro like barca done to get afellay away from us. but, regardless i do think drenthe has proved that he could be ATLEAST a usefull player in the epl maybe even better if surrounded by the players we have. he plays the way we play defending from the first man and is very good on the attack. nice left foot.

Yeah like sign him on a pre contract so real will get something from him. But can see the deal going through he won't be playing first team football like he wants - pops

30 Nov 2011 14:31:08
any chance of gettin hoilett ?

30 Nov 2011 14:20:57
Lass Diara on loan from real

30 Nov 2011 14:10:17
hi Eds is it true that arsenal are among the clubs chasing podolski. If so do u think he would prefer them due to the german connection in metersacker? {Ed001's Note - yes and no idea sorry.}

30 Nov 2011 13:52:04
Our former number 9 has realised he made a terrible mistake last January and has made the first moves by sacking his advisors and will leave Chelsea within 6 months.

I've heard very strong rumblings that he is coming back, that is why he has been paying veiled compliments

To be honest, I wouldn't mind Torres back. Think him and Suarez up front would be awesome

30 Nov 2011 13:51:20
Hi Eds,

I have read reports that Liverpool (among with other clubs) have held some discussions regarding Eduardo Vargas, do you think we have a chance of getting him in January and how much do you think he might cost us?

Dore89 {Ed001's Note - I believe he was offered to us, he is having some issues with his current club and they wish to move him on. But I am also told we were not interested, mainly due to the issues.}

30 Nov 2011 13:09:49
Ed,

Is there any possibility of Podolski joining in January?
Also, when would we start getting news from Macca? It is just approximately 31days to the start of the January Transfer Window.

O'seunfunmi (Anfield Red) {Ed001's Note - there is a possibility he will be on the move, we are among the clubs tracking him. I have no idea when/if Macca will post sorry.}

30 Nov 2011 10:05:08
Hi ED,
Reading all the questions here about possible targets, I would imagine that a lot will depend on lucas's scan and how long he will be out for as we might need to buy a replacement or do you think spearing would be good enough to do the job. If we do need a dm who would you like to see coming in
Regards
{Ed001's Note - if his injury is bad enough we will look to replace him. Spearing is not seen as a long term answer.}

For years I have been saying that Agger should be moved into that role just in front of the back four - KK may just go with that if the money is allocated for other areas. {Ed001's Note - then our defence misses the only centre back we have capable of playing football at the back. We are so much more creative with him in defence, it means the opposition's strikers can't just drop back and hassle our midfield, giving Adam etc more time and space on the ball. It is a terrible idea.}

Who would we look at

I would go for someone like Javi Martinez or Sissoko who plays for toulouse

Erm don't we already have a £20 million central midfielder and Gerrard to return. We won't be buying anyone to fill in during Lucas' absence.
We don't play another top 6 team for 6 weeks and those are the games where Lucas is important.

Harry J

Don't panic guys, the early reports are injury isn't too serious

Agree with ed001, he is the best defender in red at the moment. very intelligent defender. look closely at his intercepts and tackles and u can really see how good Agger is. Agger is world class.

Kaizer

Coates for the DM position, then. He'll do a fine job there, i am very sure.

BooDaBooze

How about Carragher in the DM role, as I think he's played there before? Still think Spearing would do a good job and what about Coady, is he ready for first team yet, Ed? Any news on Gerrard, too?

Keith {Ed002's Note - Coady may well get some time on loan before he is a regular. There is nothing on Gerard.}

Don't be surprised to see Jon Flanagan used in the role as he has been doing this in training for a while now. He also played in a central midfield role for the reserves against Wolves.

I think that if we are forced to buy then Yann M'Vila would be a good fit for us. He is young, mobile, aggressive, can tackle, pass and will definitely improve.

30 Nov 2011 09:20:45
Ed, when you say you would be suprised if andre ashrawin would be possible LFC target is that because you think he is not good enough? Personally i think he is the sort of player when on form can damage teams but also have very dry spells and sometimes he doesnt look interested {Ed002's Note - He is in his 30s and Liverpool have no interest in him.}

30 Nov 2011 07:14:50
hi eds,
is there any chance we make a move for andre ashrawin. he might be available for as cheap as 5 million and could prove to be handy signing under king??
hims_red {Ed002's Note - I would be very surprised.}

30 Nov 2011 04:38:49
Morning eds any intrest of Abel Hernandez and how much would he go for? Also could see Liverpool going in for dyer of Swansea or isit just trash paper talk thanks! KingKennyBeliver {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool.}

30 Nov 2011 03:00:37
i herd that liverpool are goin after david villa for 20 mill

I herd 4o mill

No chance in the world

Would love to see Villa at Liverpool, but i think £20m seems very cheap - was thinking more of £30-£35m

30 Nov 2011 00:11:16
Apart frm liverpool which other club is intrested in Soldado?? {Ed001's Note - Barca.}

Arsenal

Prob a swap deal if barca are interesed and if the rumours about david villa being unhappy are true he could more than likley be the player involved

Hope we get a real finisher like him. Suarez can create and he can finish

29 Nov 2011 23:51:32
eds between soldado and podalski who has a better chance of coming in as both have a same price tag of 20 mil......also are we more intrested in a wide player rather then striker?? {Ed001's Note - at the moment it is far too early to say, I know more about our interest in Podolski right now. I am waiting for someone to get back to me about Soldado before I will be able to have a real idea. It does seem a striker is the higher priority.}
