Hi Eds and all,
Quick hypothetical question, if Spuds sign The Sig, would go back for Ramus Elm following Dalgleish interest? Just a thought and wondered if you or anyone has any info.
Thanks all
Bazzaa {Ed002's Note - I guess "maybe" is the best answer you will get. There has certainly been interest.}

I don't like elm. i think he is too slow.

just passing on what i heard from a very reliable page on facebook that predicted the downing and henderson transfers last year, they said that Napoli has given cavani permission to speak to lfc

If you believe that you'll believe anything, by the way messi is at melwood tomorrow for a medical

HA HA - total BS - not a big budget an cavani would cost 30mil plus

It is not a reliable page. It is run by teenagers who say the most ridiculous things. And they made this rumour up as a joke.

Why do you bother?

"Very reliable" and "Facebook" should never be allowed in the same sentence together!

And the wheels on the bus go round and round.

Although macca did say to expect one or two big signings didnt he.

Why dont you name the reliable facebook page?

Oh my god. Facebook, the new Twitter.

Ive herd aqualani and £18million for cavani,its been circling round for a few days round here in italy in genral football press

Hi what page was this ?

Why dont LFC just do their business through players? I am sure that they could give Suarez a couple of grand to try and pursuade cavani to come, seen as they are both friends and play well together for Uruguay, but the same goes for Gaston Ramirez, who we were supposedly signing! If suarez gets Cavani to want to leave and hand in a transfer request, then maybe he would go to LFC. A similar thing happened to Siggurdson, who wanted to not go to Swansea because of Rodgers leaving, but that all turned out to be worthless now he is going to spurs. LFC couldnt outbid Chelsea or Mancity if Cavani came on sale unless he wanted to come to LFC, the only reason being for Suarez......!!

Look why even comment, it's obviously bull, ignore the pleb and he may go away.

Just reading on www.corrieredellosport.it and it was saying That Cavani was holidaying in Miami with some other players. Might be reading a bit more into it. but wasn't JH there at some stage??
Jackson87 {Ed049's Note - he was there around a month ago.}

Cavani would not join liverpool simple as!!madrid,city,chelsea and juve would all be miles ahead of liverpool if cavani was to become available

30 Jun 2012 21:22:19
LFC have bid 20 mill for Llorente plus 7 mill depending on goals and appearances and the player himself is open to the move,however Real and Citey are also interested

alan50

Come off it

We'd love it but it will never happen!

Considering suarez is being valued by juve at 20 mil then this valuation shouldnt be too far off. However cant see it happening. Jayo.

Hope so great player has great eye for goal and he did score against mancs that worth fee alone lol.....

The same llorente that spurs were a
after for £30m a few months ago?

Hi Eds, are you aware of proper interest from AC Milan or any other club for Pepe Reina or is it all just media?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Interestingly I am aware of interest from AC Milan in Hugo Lloris.}

They do need a good goal keeper

30 Jun 2012 20:25:57
See we are Bering linked to a GK is the any interest in Ter Stegen young and will one day the one of the best keepers in the world {Ed002's Note - He would not move to sit on the bench.}

Would there be interest if renia leaves {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

When Reina leaves next year i want him

Ok thanks but love this guy love to see him in a Liverpool kit

Just like other fans i would love to see him at anfield

30 Jun 2012 20:10:09
Hi eds asked this last season and you said there was no chance but could di natal move this season. Despite age think would be great signing {Ed049's Note - No}

Try again next season

Interview with the Sigs dad. Says a decision by Sunday

Thank goodness draw a line under it either way

If Gylfi was a true Norseman, he would join Liverpool, not those North London softboys.

I thought the decision had already been made. there could be a lot of people with egg on their face if he signs for liverpool

Is there a decision to make? Has he not agreed terms and passed a medical with spurs?

Good to hear, where was the interview out of interest?

If that's true, its interesting as it shows the deal with Spurs isn't finalised. However, I'm pretty sure he'll chose them anyway, so it will at least draw a line under it and we can all get on with our lives!

Who knows anymore. The way his dad is talking, he hasnt had a medical. Bring on tommorrow

Or it is a educated guess as it is the 1st of July........ who are people kidding! If he really did speak to his dad, his dad would just tell him who was more likely. Simple.

Id rather kaka anyway.

Having read what his Dad has said, it could go either way. It's interesting that he's wanted to dispel the wage issue and focus on playing time, as that's what I thought was key for him anyway. If true, we must be better placed than Spurs, as BR can tell him exactly what his plans are, rather than Spurs who haven't even appointed a Manager yet!

I just hope he doesn't read sites like this, as he might be worried about the reaction he'll get if he DID sign!

Be interesting either way as we have a friendly with Spurs in the US

30 Jun 2012 19:20:19
Eds Any interest in Naismith as it was stated that 6 EPL are chasing him? {Ed022's Note - He looked set for Everton last I checked.}

Not worth it guys injury prone

30 Jun 2012 18:38:24
{Ed022's Note - Brand new Player-Profile on Victor Moses of Wigan. I had a massive response to yesterdays updated profile on Ramirez so thank you LFC fans, and I hope this profile gets the same reaction. As Ed002 covered, there seems to be interest in Moses from Liverpool, so this profile covers the latest with him, and his future etc. Cheers all.}

These profiles are top qualiy! Keep it going.

30 Jun 2012 17:18:00
Eds, is there a chance of Eduardo Salvio this summer..seems a good prospect and suprised a bigger club than atl madrid hasnt snapped him up, have we rekindled any interesst in lucas ocampos?
{Ed049's Note - to be honest I don't know much about him mate perhaps others could help. as far as Lucas goes i believe we did look at him but decided not to follow up the interest as he would be too expensive}

Salvio was on loan from Athletico i have seen him and think the only thing was he was a fairly lightweight player other than that he is impressive.

30 Jun 2012 17:11:27
Mark Davies
But if it was Marcus Davides you would all be wow hope we sign him for mega bucks and lets hope he settles just like Aqua.. Yeah that went well..
He's a decent player with good ability, (Ray Houghtonesq)who's been looked at by all .., Are we the ones to take a chance... Just remember everton took a £4 million risk on a forward from Rangers jelevic who you lot would have critised the club for, and you know what he was are missing piece last year.., so trust the club and if Mark Davies comes then support him and you may be happily pleased.
PistolPete

Cracking post mate. I totally agree. Mark Davies is a really good ball player as well. He is very skillful and very underrated.

Mighty reds

Absolutely spot on. Got to be the post of the week. The same people who are against signing players like this will be shouting their names in a couple of months. Leave it to the people who know and forget football manager or whatever game it is that you play.
Robbie

If it is the Mark Davies of Bolton then no way. He's rubbish. Simple as that. I hope BR doesn't go for him. He's terrible. He won't succeed at Liverpool.

SUMON VAI

What a load of rubbish. This player is average at best. Liverpool need much better players than this.

Yeah just because he aint from spain r south america everyone is dissapointed give this man achance if we sign him please, who heard of alonso when he signed its all how buck sees who fits his team ethic so give buck time and we will see how it goes.Tommy Irish red.

What a pointless post that was, get off your soap box, have a word..we did it with Charlie Adam, and for me, it was 6 million to much!

What will be, will be - but nothing wrong hoping for star signings!

He is usless if he was that good why is nowone else in for him

I agree with the points made, but whilst disagreeing with those who say that he's 'rubbish' etc. I have to say that personally, transfers like this show a distinct lack of ambition.
I'm no FIFA crazed fan expecting Cavani etc. but to be chasing a player who failed to shine in a relegated side? Sounds like a bad move to me.
RedNero

Well i do think he is alright but i would hope liverpool go for other players. in principle but you make a good point that if we sign him he deserves his chance.
derryred

Davies looks a good little player, a bit like benyoun for 5m could be a steal

Just saw him go past our whole team on youtube

We don't just want people from abroad, we want quality and I'm sorry to say we will certainly not get that with the likes of mark Davies.
I would more than happily take Adam Johnson, you say he has a bad attitude but he's got talent in abundance and he apparently would come to us and take a wage drop witch is what every one on here keeps on about...

Yeh guys, fantastic player, that's why he plays for Bolton, he's not good enough, haven't we learnt last summer not to buy players from poor teams, Adam and Downing ring a bell

Problem is, we've seen it so many times before. Liverpool sign a 'flavour of the month' player who has had relative success at a small club. He comes to Anfield and doesn't perform, EITHER because, and i'm putting my amateur psychologist hat on here, he cant handle the pressure of playing for a big club like Liverpool, or he sits back because his mentality is 'i've got my big move, i've made it, now I can take my foot off the gas'. Not just Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing from last year, but also Paul Konchesky, Robbie Keane, Jermaine Pennant, Craig Bellamy (first time round), Emile Heskey to name a few. And to be honest, you could argue that Glen Johnson (considering the fee) and Peter Crouch weren't exactly world beaters for Liverpool!

There's no value in the Premiership, and if there is, Man United snap them up before Liverpool get chance! (Jones and Valencia...)

Some serious idiots out today... The guy is a great young prospect.

I suspect the people calling him rubbish have never seen him play...

He is great technically and glides past players, he was comfortably one of the best young players in the league last year.

Its not a lack of ambition by signing a 21 year old player...

Were united showing a lack of ambition by signing Nick Powell or Smalling?

Were Arsenal showing a lack of ambition by signing Ramsey, Chamberlain etc...

I suppose Spurs were showing a lack of ambition when they signed Parker, who got relegated with West Ham previously...

Some people need to grow up...

If he did sign, which is probably unlikely, do you really think he'd be a 'Marquee' signing...

Well there some mixed responses but is anyone taking into account he might not be a starter week after week he is trying to build a squad and his wages probably arnt mad so rodgers trying to get wage bill down,fair play and im sure we can all agree he can play the game so im sure he wouldnt be bad to bring off the bench in one of them games when just nothing seems to be happening.stir other lads up like bellamy does and maxi" d pad" rodriguez.redness YNWA

These are the sort of players liverpool can realistically target now

The rest of the world have more footballers than England obviously. There are more good players because there are more millions more coming through. Just because he's English doesn't make him good.

To the last guy who posted.

Your hilarious, i know your only trying to prove your point about buying young prospects but, Chamberlain is still only 18, signed when he was 17 or 16, Nick powell is 18.. bla bla bla, the point is Mark Davies is 24 in 6 months he will be 25. that is not a young prospect, Gervinho is younger than him.

Not saying he won't do well if we did get him, just pointing out he is nearly 25.

Pay the money and the wages for quality it's as simple as that we don't want mediocrity at our club thankyou

Another salif diao

Let's get something straight with M Davies, not a bad player but if S Holden hadn't had such an unfortunate injury he would of been getting splinters on his ass from the bench not being lined up with a move to the most successful English club... Sorry doesn't make the grade fore

Well I would have him instead of spearing...
But we have to make it a Gerrard or Davies and not a spearing or Davies... More gerrards ability than spearings

Davies is very technically gifted and if he is put in a team like Rodgers' where they like to keep the ball I'm sure he'll show his quality.

BthekingB

Bolton fan?

My God, I cant believe I've just read "haven't we learned not to buy players from poor teams"

How can anyone have that approach?
By that logic does that mean we can only buy from Barcelona, Man City, Real Madrid etc.?

Mark Davies is a technically gifted footballer. Bolton were poor last year, but he was a shining light whenever he played.
However, having said that I'm not sure we need him.
I'd rather give Henderson, Shelvey, and Coady more playing time in centre mid.

I find it really disappointing how supposed Liverpool fans turn their noses up at decent players just because they're not fashionable names.

Joe

30 Jun 2012 17:06:30
Is it true that we are interested in Davies, or is it just the papers linking anyone and everyone with our club once again?

RedNero

It's most likely made up. But then again people thought F.T. Was just the papers. You'll probably cut me down for this but people AND papers have commented about Hunterlaur.

The second one (hopefully)

30 Jun 2012 16:41:46
Ed002 Is it true we will bid 10m + lucas for cavani another poster said they were interested in lucas {Ed002's Note - No, it is not true.}

Losing Lucas would be the worst move BR could ever make!

I agree with the last guy. Would be VERY VERY bad for LFC if we lose Lucas!

Rascal Red

I'm not sure losing Lucas would be that catastrophic. His passing ability is very limited. With the way BR likes to play having a ball playing holding midfielder is key to the system so I expect us to sign one if we can find one that is available. That said, a swap with Cavani is not going to happen.

I am the person from the first reply, and to the guy above, losing lucas would be. This is because he is a key to our team and success, did you not realise how when he got injure our season performances started to go down hill?
Plus he is actually very good passer, with great vision. He plays deep, with great ability to pass to near team mates which actually fits with BR style of football.

LFCHero ;)!

30 Jun 2012 15:09:03
Liverpool are interested in; Mark Davies of Bolton and Joao Moutinho of Porto.

Excellent. Similar types of player with similar quality. Both good enough to grace any European 11. Now if we could only sign Salif Diao, it would be like the good old days of having Alonso, Masch and Gerrard in the team.

Jesus Christ! Have we fallen that far that we're seriously interested in Mark Davies?

The most frustrating aspect of this post is that this has been answered approx a dozen times today. How difficult is it for people to scroll down through the previous posts or use the search function?!!

In case you haven't noticed, yes we have fallen that far...we finished 7th last year {Ed049's Note - we finished 8th just to be clear}

Hope we dont he is average player we have enough of them here ..hicks and gillet again

Thats like saying we are interested in christiano ronaldo and david hoilet one s**t in the position that all the lower teams are battling for an one that is ungetable

30 Jun 2012 15:04:09
hi eds with city wanting to get rid of kolo toure could he be a viable option this window? would be cover for lucas aswell as our centerbacks

cj {Ed002's Note - PSG, QPR, Toulouse and particularly Bursaspor are looking to tempt Kolo Toure to play for them. I really don't see a move from Liverpool for the player.}

I think you are thinking of the wrong Toure, Kolo is a cb so wouldn't be cover for Lucas you are thinking of yaya

Good he is awful

Im sure he did actually cover when his brother was out for a few matches, hes not that bad as a defender if agger or skirt got injured he would be ideal to hold the fort till they returned

30 Jun 2012 15:17:20
We're after Mark Davies from Bolton, yay!

KennyRed

Yay you being sarcastic, mark davies Liverpool player is someone taking the mick out of our club... Come on man lets not post this s**te

Says who the mirror jesus pls tell me you dont believe everything you read in the chip wrap of tomorrow

Mark who.....were looking to improve the squad not make it worse! I don't believe .BR will go for him , no offence to Davies but he's no Liverpool player. HEARD a rumour we may be interested in klose as a striker option , any thoughts.

Agreed I mean Mark Davies what a joke!!

Davies is a good player he runs at players and makes things happen, bob paisleys skids

Small time managers sign small time players, so what did you expect. Mike

That's disgusting were going from decent players to shambles!!

Mike, what a supporter you are. BR has been in the job less than a month and Davies is a Rumour idiot.

Its not so long ago we could attract players like mascherano

Ye players like masherano who refuse to play one day and force the sale premadonnas can stay away davies mightened be the next hot shizz but he would break his back for lfc if given the chance thats what made the pool great lads.

30 Jun 2012 14:40:54
Hi Eds,
Is there any possibility Soldado would be interested in a move, as well as pablo piatti? Cheers Iceman 10 {Ed002's Note - Neither are an option now.}

30 Jun 2012 14:22:43
apparently Matias Suarez won't be able to get a work permit to come to england as he doesnt play for the national team, is this true ed? {Ed002's Note - He will need a work permit and not playing for the national team is a major issue against it happening. Claiming on an exception basis will also be difficult for someone of his age. His other option would be to seek a Belgian passport nd stay a while longer there. Otherwise, he can move freely to other European countries.}

Thanks ed, I assume this would make a move to Liverpool very unlikely then...

Gh*Lfc

Why would he not be granted a permit ed i dont understand that surely if hes been employed by liverpool they should grant him one ,its a strange rule {Ed002's Note - It is not a strange rule. The situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up, or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. Some players can obtain work permits through their parents or grand parents being English.}

30 Jun 2012 14:00:20
To your knowledge ed02, have Liverpool made an approach for gaston, or is this all just as nailed on as mata coming to liverpoollast year?

Siggle {Ed002's Note - As I have explained on many, many occasions Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him, particularly if someone were to leave.}

Kuyt has gone already looks like bellemy is going aswell bob paisleys skids

Who in particular to leave??it sounds like you have heard something .. come on tell us!

Luis Suarez gents.

Amigo's

My opinion on couple of rumours thats is circulating,

This talk of Pepe Reina to AC Milan and Hugo Lloris to Liverpool- As far as I am aware neither Liverpool nor Reina has been made aware of interest from AC Milan. And Pepe has no intention of leaving Liverpool as of yet. Milan might well be interested in Reina but I believe they would fancy Lloris in the expense of Reina as Liverpool would demand an excess of 20-25M for Reina and given his age Lloris could be a little bit cheap option + with more years ahead of him.

If some how circumstances arise and Pepe is to leave Lloris is no doubt Liverpool's preferred option to replace
Reina.

On Gaston Ramirez, he is very much Liverpool bound could very well be our first signing.

Also I am told we are stepping up our interest in Matias Suarez. And we are still closely tracking some players form Spain, a striker and a CM.

Adios, see you later, no need to be worried by lack of movement ...

Armando

{Ed002's Note - Before Armando whips everyone in to an orgasmic frenzy, I will give an update on the situation with Gaston Ramirez. The talks between Bolgna and Napoli have finished, at least for now. Talks between Juventus, Bologna and Ramirez' agent continue. Wolfsburg have also entered discussion with his agent but not yet with Bologna - although these are being planned.}

Haha, ed002..

Out of interest, you mentioned a couple of clubs there that are in talks in some capacity there...are Liverpool actually among them in any kind of talks with bologna/Ramirez, or is it just a case of, everyone jumping on this rumour bandwagon.. {Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over again about the situation with Ramirez. However, in hope of not being asked again:

Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him particularly if someone leaves Liverpool. Ramirez was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial interest after having the player watched. Bologna will not now listen to offers less than 20M euros. However, it remains most likely that Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Spurs, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. Discussions have taken place between Bologna and Manchester City, Napoli and Juventus. The talks with Juventus do continue and after Wolfsburg met with the player's agent talks are now being organised between Bologna and Wolfsburg.}

Ed002... my sources confirm me there is definite Liverpool interest in Ramirez and with the fact missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson might well make them push hard
for a deal with Ramirez. thats all

cheers
Armando {Ed002's Note - Feel free to ignore everything I have said then. It is fine by me.}

His posts smacks of Daniel Hanwell, to be honest. Singred

Got to love Ed002's sarcasm. It seems pretty clear there is interest from LFC but no bid or formal discussion with Bologna whereas the likes of Wolfsburg and Juventus are making the push for him. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Ed 002 u always have negativity oozing out of every post. {Ed002's Note - I appreciate that there are some who would much rather be lied to than be kept up to date. With Cavani and Ramirez training with the Uruguay Olympic Squad at Melwood today they will be signed by Liverpool and announced tomorrow morning.}

Armando, why do you still post complete utter lies?
Buzz off!

I have a good friend in Turin massive Juve fan and right into certain going ons he assures me Juve have no interest in Ramirez and certainly dont need him. {Ed002's Note - It is always a sad thing to be let down by ones friends. Gaston Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt has now also made it clear that Juventus and Wolfsburg are interested in his client and that he knows of no on going interest in the player from other clubs.}

I looked at juves side and agree with him i think his agent is full of it and lets face it most agents are.

Your sources are wrong then

It is important not to always believe what agents are saying. This is often designed to attract interest in order to up the price and help the agent achieve more money. Just because the agent has said Juve and Wolfsburg are interested does not mean this is true. These types of scenario's are often propaganda. Agents have linked LFC to numerous players in the past one recent example is Vargras but this does not mean it is true

Thanks for up date Armando m8

Rodgers wants Allen. That supposed deal with Swansea about not signing any of their players is not true and is unsubstantiated. There is definite interest in the lad however it's nothing more than that in this present time.

Luis

The agreement is true an i am glad as he is not good enough for Liverpool and we have Henderson who is a better prospect.

Unfortunately it is true, and he would play hendersons arse off !

But not this year for allan. Next heis coming.

Allen and Henderson would work well together... If we wanted to play proper pass and move football. Maybe next year then but I know for a fact he wants Allen.

30 Jun 2012 12:22:05
Gaston Ramirez has signed for LFC for £19.4 million
medical monday morning very good reliable source inside liverpools medical team

Ohhh, I hope your right!. Hope Daniel Sturridge follows soon as well.

I hope your right but whenever some doesn't bother to use a sign off name it never fills me full of confidence if i had inside contacts at lfc i would be using a sign off just so i could get the recognition when it came off
og

I wish.....

Why are u making us fools by posting stories with fake links.

It's just a twitter quote taken from the club website forum; total bs Singred

I hope you are true but price is too high for this young lad.

Y would the daily exspress Give them selves a bad name papers try compete with each other so I dought they would get rumours off twitter {Ed002's Note - So you think it is true then?}

I'm saying ya r u saying its not gunner happen

Price is too high? Not that i believe its true, but im pretty sure thats about what he'll cost m8, u clearly havent been watching him alot...

"I'm saying ya r u saying its not gunner happen"

UGH! Would it kill you to use proper English? I have no clue what you are attempting to communicate.

When you say medical team do you mean that he is getting treated by one ?

is there any real interest in adam johnson & jermain defoe think they are realistic targets and would be great additions to lfc with premier league experience?

Northern Red

Jermain defoe? Why would we want him?

If Bellamy goes, Defoe would be perfect. He can create something out of nothing.
Johnson would be amazing, proven in prem and adds a goal threat from the wings.

30 Jun 2012 11:09:34
daniel sturridge will be a liverpool player deffo.... just sorting the fee out

cheer mick

Hope not, can we for once, just to make a change could we actually go for a really good player over this constant parade of average ones

If he's the player turned out for Owen Coyle at Bolton then YES PLEASE! If he's the same sulking petulant child that AVB created then we have a few of them already....

FatJanMolby

Nooooooo

Hes gunna b a great player id deffo buy him for the right price

Don't know y people don't like him he played at Bolton as a out an striker scoring 8goals 12 games he was scoring for Chelsea as well but he got droped

If BR wants him fine ,I just dont think hes up to much

McGurk

He seems like a BR type of striker to me. Quick, mobile, scores goals, versatile. If we sign him it will be as a CF rather than a wide man as he plays at Chelsea. That's why he sulks, as he doesn't want to play there. Remember he's only 22 years old as well, so he'll grow out of his petulance.

Good striker, lets get him in

Take him please guys hes unreliable incositent and greddier then a 25 stone heffa all yours lol

All the best for the upcomming season would rather have liverpool up there in stead of spurs and the gooners so best of luck

Liverpool possibly after Mark Davies from Bolton...... WTF!

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-eye-mark-davies-the-bolton-946063

Markolfc

If this is true and of course it is only "IF" then it is very very sad for a club like Liverpool to be chasing average players like this !

He has great first touch and his awareness is great just because youve never watched him, hes a little gem

Just typical lazy journalism. Davies was wanted by Rodgers at Swansea. It won't happen

Liverpool is full of average players and flops. I'm sure he'll fit in well!

LOL!!! that would be the worst buy EVER!

30 Jun 2012 10:00:14
Has LFC interest in Matias Suarez cooled off? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool along with Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Newscastle, Lazio and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez but everything seems quiet with the player at this time.}

30 Jun 2012 09:57:23
A lot of rumours - we agree 14.6 millions for Adam Johnson.

Source? like to see him in the warrior shirt!

Hope not, i thought we would have learned our lesson from last year about signing overpriced British players.

100% true!! There are a lot of rumours about Johnson joining Liverpool. However like the million before it this one holds no truth....

Hope not. way too much for him

Dont want him, hugely overrated....the next Downing.

Adam is class hope we do get him!

kellyclan

Hi Edamames, a couple of questions arising from Macca's last post.

1. Do you think we will go for Moses? I don't know much about him, and I'm a little concerned that he'll be just another average winger. Do you think he could cut it at LFC?
2. Junior Hoilett would probably be a better punt. Any thoughts?
3. I'm hoping for some under-the-radar, young players with low wages, talent and hunger... So hopefully BR is looking at the Eredivisie. Has he got some scouts/connections out there? Or is there another league you can see him plundering?
4. Big name signing... Any hopes/dreams/info? Does this include players like Ramirez and Vargas?
5. Will we be selling Charlie Adam/Jordan Henderson/Stewart Downing, or will they get another season to prove their mediocrity?

Thanks,
Philippe
{Ed002's Note - I have not seen "Macca's Last Post" so have no idea what he has said about these players. (1) There is interest from Liverpool in Victor Moses - I am not going to speculate on his ability to "cut it". (2) Reading, Spurs, Galatasaray, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich) and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. A move to Reading, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say North London or foreign shores (Borussia Monchengladbach or Galatasaray) are the most likely destinations. (3) Liverpool have shown interest in several players from the Eredivisie - we will have to see if that interest is maintained after the squad has been assessed. (4) I would rather doubt that many fans would be satisfied with Vargas as a "big name signing". As I have said, it is possible that Ramirez will be an option. (5) The assessment of the squad will be key to sales I would expect. As far as I know Adam is still injured.}

I can't find any post from Macca mentioning victor Moses, am I being dim here, could maybe one of the eds point me in the right direction here?

Siggle {Ed002's Note - I have no idea - try the search function and I think there is a page which holds various posts from Macca.}

Macca didn't link Moses - I got that from the newspapers.
What Macca did say was that Liverpool won't be signing old players with big wages... Which lead to me thinking who we could sign/are linked with.
Sorry for the confusion.

Philippe

No probs phillipe, I've got to be honest tho I haven't seen enough of victor Moses to know if he's any good, opinions welcome.

Siggle

Charlie Adam/Jordan Henderson/Stewart Downing ,wouldnt miss any of them TBH

Wow thats a crazy misuse of "quotations"

As a season ticket holder, I was quite happy the way we played at home last season, apart from not taking our chances.The Lucas injury was the most telling part of the season,more so the impact it had on Charlie Adam.Jay Spearing was given the opportunity to prove me and a lot of fans wrong,in proving he could influence a game at the top level. And he came up short.I really wanted him to succeed,showing the undoubted passion he has for the club.We do really need a strong squad signing to cover the Lucas role.I think Bruno Soriano of Villarreal would be a good shout,as he can also play left back. I heard he was heading to Valencia, do you know if we are interested in him Ed? {Ed002's Note - Espanyol and Malaga are showing an interest in taking Bruno from Villareal this summer and a bid has been made by Rubin Kazan. Malaga remains the most likely destination at this time.}

Thanks for that Ed02, your knowledge of the transfer market really makes this site addictive and also gives some of us fans useful information, if potential targets, are realistic or not. Cheers Ed02.
Jiminy Cricket

Stevie G could cover that role and some.Problem then is getting cover for Stevie.Hopefully Lucas will return super fit and at the top of his game.If so great, but he is not a god.

Is there any truth in gaston ramirez joining? Caught offside are reporting the deal is as good as done ( I know there not the most reliable by any means! ) but with all the Uruguayan connections at anfield, thought it was worth asking your opinion cheers.

Yes,
on monday he will pass his medical test

Caught offside is a hacks site. They print pure lies and except from naming every player under the sun for a club's transfer possibility, they've never been "In the know".

A) its caughtoffside. don't take it on.
b) this question has been answered 100 times. try reading the other posts

Hopefully - vital we sign him if we miss out on sigurdsson

30 Jun 2012 08:47:15
eds do you know anything about us being after Bolton's Mark Davies? i hope we arent! {Ed005's Note - Lazy journalism mate - the Mirror? Say no more.}

Thank god!

30 Jun 2012 08:36:55
Ed is there any further news on Krasic ? Seems to have gone completely quiet on this one.

Could we offer Aqualani as part of the deal. Don't want him loaned out again, an then returned because a clause wasn't met.

Jonesred {Ed005's Note - There's nothing mate and in all honesty don't see why Juventus would want Aquilani considering they have Pirlo and Marchisio in the midfield along with Vidal - Aquilani would warm the bench.}

Krasic isn't playing for them now so Aquiliani warming the bench wouldn't exactly be bad for them.

30 Jun 2012 08:20:55
Hi Eds, talking about how Hoffenheim are wanting way too much for Sig, is it about the same offer wanted for Ramirez and thats why we have supposedly moved away, would like to see Ramirez here more to be honest.

Thanks. {Ed005's Note - I really don't know how much mate but more than we're willing to pay or I'm sure we would have matched their asking price.}

How much are we willing to pay?

Other clubs must see Liverpool as the 35 million pound per player club. We've set ourselves up badly for future offers. {Ed005's Note - I don't know mate in all honesty - but I'm sure it was over £10m as I don't think a couple of million would have made us back off.}

30 Jun 2012 04:12:24
Hi Ed
You said siggurdson was set to sign for us but now he has turned his back and is set to sign for tottenham. Who will be our new striker next season?
YNWA
{Ed005's Note - And? Is it alien for a player to be all but signed for a club then another club to come in and trump them? And I don't know what striker we'll sign.}

He's going to swansea fella. I was with Colin Pascoe last night

Haha there was one ed that was particulary sure the move would happen which i thought was strange. but if we really wanted him we would have signed him. {Ed005's Note - Everyone was particularly sure the move would happen and no-one anticipated Tottenham doing what they've done so how about stop trying to blame everyone else and get over it, it's football and these things happen we have to move on and look elsewhere.}

Just shows what a load of rubbish people post on this site. You just speculate yet know nothing. I was reading when the manager was due to be appointed and some of you totally discounted BR. I think I should pretend to be Ed007! {Ed005's Note - If you scroll to the top of tpe page, look what the site is called. Liverpool "RUMOURS" not Liverpool Facts. I suggest finding out what rumour means and perhaps it would give you a different mindset before scrolling through hundreds of posts and taking them as fact. Apologies that you have wasted hours of your life reading rumours, thinking they were facts. I'm sure you have wasted money getting "Cavani" "Higuain" and many others on your replica kits. Unfortunatly, the site can't compensate.}

totally agree but I do find it amusing when you discount other sources, as the truth is only BR and the new board team know who we are going to sign.
Messi to sign. Just a rumour.

{Ed005's Note - Something the eds have maintained all along - that BR etc. know who they want and who we will sign. Try learning to read son.}

Eds- your all deadly, cant imagine the crap you take that doesnt get posted.
Some of us appreciate the job you do, oh and macca, we love you too

The formula is quite simple. If a rumour appears on Twitter, one dodgy website or in the tabloids, it is initially discounted, which makes sense as its unsubstantiated. Once it begins to appear in the broadsheets or multiple news agencies, then it has some merit and can be taken more seriously.

The Sigurdsson to Spurs story is a prime example. It first appeared before last weekend and the EDs (and many posters) dismissed it as it had nothing to back it up. However, as more news agencies started to run with the story and more details emerged, it became apparent that it was true.

At the end of the day, the EDs are just that; Editors, who work hard to sift through the noise and provide some perspective on what is being touted as fact by many who clearly know nothing and make stuff up!

Keep up the good work EDs :)

eds any chance of mauro zarate? it was reported in january that inter would not take up the option to buy him after his loan at around £12mil. seems a bargain {Ed005's Note - He didn't do too well at Inter and for me isn't really up to it. Out wide he offers little - he can't dribble and he doesn't work hard enough. Not a great finisher either. Can't see why we'd pay £12m for him.}

Seriously? Mauro Zarate is one of the best dribblers around now, and can finish as well. Although, He's very inconsistent like Ribery and Robben. {Ed005's Note - Not from what I've seen, certainly not at the top level. Doesn't do it for me mate but you have your own opinion.}

Compare these two:

Ed005's Note - He didn't do too well at Inter and for me isn't really up to it. Out wide he offers little - he can't dribble and he doesn't work hard enough. Not a great finisher either. Can't see why we'd pay £12m for him.

My Note - Any Carrol didn't do too well at Liverpool and for me isn't really up to it. Out wide he offers little - he can't dribble and he doesn't work hard enough. Not a great finisher either. Can't see why we'd pay £35m for him. {Ed005's Note - What has Carroll got to do with my opinion on Zarate? They are totally different players. Of course Carroll doesn't offer anything out wide he's not that type of player. What a stupid post. Plus, just because we pay £35m for Carroll doesn't mean we should go and spend £12m on a player who is clearly not good enough when there is other quality out there.}

We paid £20m for Downing and he does not do any of the above,full stop!

Real Madrid have told Xabi Alonso they will not be renewing his contract, hopefully this opens the door for us, just maybe:)

RedSpud

Please be true. If we get Alonso and Ramirez i well be more than satisfied
Gerrard Lucas Xabi
Suarez. Ramirez
Carroll
I am droowling already. Eds any truth in the rumour before i get to engrossed in my fantasy?
Andrew {Ed005's Note - We won't get Alonso - age, wages, transfer fee is something we won't pay for a 30-year-old.}

Yeah they wont renew their most important players contract! Talking sh iiite

Just means he will come on a free next summer most likely

Remember what Macca has told us, we wont be going for old players on big contracts, i believe this may have been the exact issue he was confronting

Anfield Andy

But if real are not renewing his contract does that not mean he'd be on a free and I'm sure he'd take a wage cut if he wanted to come back. There still a good 3 yrs left in him alongside gerrard.

I would love it. i think he can keep playing until he is the samee age as paul scholes. hopefully if he is willing to move to liverpool then he can accept a massive pay cut to get here.
derryred

His contract runs until 2014 and Mourinho wants to extend it to 2016.

Gerrard Lucas Xabi ,Suarez. Ramirez
Carroll ,Johnson ,use Cole or Marine Boy or flog them , Pools quids in I would be a very happy Red

Didnt have great tournament but do rate Benzema.Think disharmony in French camp.Would there be a remote chance?

We cant even attract sigurdsson so please stop dreaming mate {Ed005's Note - Please mate don't talk rubbish. Sigurdsson clearly was eager to sign for Liverpool but we're not keen to match a price which Hoffenheim have quoted ( a lot more than Swansea) and match his wage demands. Spurs are a small club and can't attract a player based on name alone - they need to throw cash and big bonuses to even take someone like Sigurdsson of our hands. We want players who want to play for LFC first and foremost - not players who demands double what they're worth atm.}

Agree with ed005 above. Honestly, let Spurs have Sigurdsson. He is not worth 70K or whatever salary he is getting.

Anyways with Benz...100000000000000000% no chance. This isn't Fifa. Wake up

SLURed

Then maybe we can sign messi.lol.

Benzema showed was downright lazy at the euros-why would we pay big money for someone who may not try

30 Jun 2012 02:18:02
Are we close to any signing yet like
Ramirez
Moses
Sig and rondon

30 Jun 2012 01:58:58
Any chance of Raul Garcia Ed? Heard that he had a fight with the manager and is now available for about 8 million.

Cheers , Zincho {Ed005's Note - If we're interested there is always a chance - but I personally wouldn't pay 8m for a squad player when for not much more we could add quality who will improve our team.}

The beive was for the ed buy me pmickp

30 Jun 2012 01:40:54
Ed under Dalglish we pretty much knew who was coming in. Whith Rogers do you expect suprises on transfers and Do you think we may keep Aquilani til the Jan window atleast to see how he works out he could be our David Silva what are your views on this? {Ed005's Note - I don't think we knew much under Dalglish mate personally - however I think that BR will try and sign quality to improve the first XI and the squad as a whole. I think we'll try and get rid of Aquilani asap personally mate - he doesn't want to be here regardless of what his agent or him say.}

Ed005, do you mean to imply that when KK set out to make his signings he didn't try and make quality signings? That he just thought let's bring in any old riff raff.

Every manager tries to bring in what they think are quality signings it just depends on the decision making whether there choices are seen to be true {Ed005's Note - Nope mate, never said that nor did I even remotly imply it. The fella talked about whilst under KK we knew pretty much who we were signing and I just said I don't think that was the case under Dalglish. I don't really understand how you could have read the whole conversation and response like that to be totally honest.}

30 Jun 2012 01:31:24
he ed's is the sigurdsson deal to spurs all done or is there still a chance we could get him? The reason I ask is that sly are not that reliable! Thanks {Ed005's Note - The only reason he's not coming mate is because Hoffenheim and us can't agree a fee. They are asking for way more than what they agreed with Swansea so we are not going to be held to ransom - and we won't be held to ransom with his wage demands.}

An We should'nt be held to ransom by them or sig, brendan knows better than any one what sigs worth an if he wont pay it i back him an if he wont pay wages i agree he a young lad who has'nt proved he should earn those wages yet but he will miss out on wha rodgers was startin bring out of him.
In rodgers we trust jft96. Kopidol {Ed005's Note - I agree mate. I think Sigurdsson has the potential to be a top player, I really do but he should earn the kind of wages which merit those of a top player.}

Cheer's Ed for clearing that up.I didnt no if it was the fee or the wage's that was the problem so it's a bit of both.I totally agree with BR and the club the massive wage's just had to stop....What you think Ed's? {Ed005's Note - I think if Sigurdsson fulfils his potential he'll be worth 70k a week but not at the moment mate. Say we gave him 70k and he had a bad year or two - we'd find it hard to shift him abit like J.Cole. We can't be in that situation now - that contriubted to us losing money - a top wage bill on a squad which isn't a top squad.}

Sorry. But ive seen replies from Eds today stating that the reason he has apparently signed for Spurs is due the the fact we did not meet his wage demands (good!) and nothing to do with the fee. If we didnt agree a fee then why would we be discussing wages? Which one is it? Thanks

Strabs {Ed005's Note - Why have you never heard of teams discussing terms with players before agreeing a fee? Well this is the case here - we've talked to Sigurdsson with permission from Hoffenheim.}

So why you donts just say we can't compite with spurs, and we are just a mid table team with no ambition, thanks

How can you say we have no ambition when the transfer window hasn't even opened yet?

30 Jun 2012 01:18:05
Bild newspaper in Germany linking Werder Bremens winger Aaron Hunt with an €8m move to Liverpool. Heard anything on that eds?
Brian {Ed005's Note - I'm afriad not mate but I honestly don't know much about the player - we were linked with him under Rafa and that's only how I heard of him.}

Hunt is always injured and the last two seasons there was not much contribution from him to improve a sorry Werder Bremen squad

Willy Lemke

He's a bluenose, & wants to play for Arsenal, good player but would rather have players who want to play for Lfc

I might have some news on the stadium issue. I work at Anfield behind the bar in the hospitality suites and the bar I work on is getting refurbished along with many other suites at a total cost of around £1 million.

With a big investment on refurbishing the hospitality suites it's more than likely that we will be staying at Anfield and expanding the capacity, rather than moving to a new stadium in Stanley Park.

I don't think the owners would fork out that kind of money on refurbishments for the existing stadium only to move to a new multi-million pound stadium a couple of seasons later.

Thats believable. thanks mat. i think you will get slaughtered for this though. no one is a happy camper atm regarding transfers and the field! JLFC

No reason to slaughter this one, you have been spared lol.

Henry has sorta been hinting that way though hasn't he? I thought the latest thing was he tweeted a link to someones blog who suggested the club will be maximising everything commercially. The stadium is part of that but not necessarily top of the list, we need to milk more from hospitality, sponsorship, merchandise, everything. We will be pimp our stadium when it suits us.

Building a new stadium for an extra 15,000 seats doesn't sound that cost effective really anyway.

He's 100% correct. They're also refurbing and re-arranging some of the seating in the Centenary stand too in connection with it. I'm not affected but I believe a couple of the season ticket holders there are being moved.

Thanks for a genuine rumour, starting to get fed up of all the tosh coming out. We need to let BR get into his job and make some assesments!!. I hope your rumour is correct cos I really want us to stay at Anfield.

Hi guys the refurb on bars and suites are 99% funded by the brewer suppliers i.e carlsberg......budweiser (inbev) so this wouldnt cost the owners anything. So to be honest moving away could still happen!!

The rumour is not a rumour because the poster is 100% correct, but the last poster is talking absolute nonsense saying it's 99% being funded by the suppliers. They may well be contributing to it, but the club are paying for it.

And saying a move could still happen is just wishful thinking. We are 100% staying put. Ask any of the residents of Lothair and Alroy road who were involved in a special private meeting after the public meeting at the Palm House ended the other week.

Get that man up there a pint,and make sure the suppliers pay for it!

I used to work at the bars too.

They do need refurbishing like haha ! Good shout though it makes sense.

Ed where we ever in for De Jong iyo? Is it another LFC drawn out saga.ending in usual ultimate failure or what? Any info on that please? {Ed001's Note - we were interested under Dalglish. We watched him and tracked him, but every club does that for numerous players and only a few ever join them. I have no idea if we are still interested, we certainly have yet to make a move for him, that I can find out anyway, this summer.}

errm might be complete crap but hearing Uruguay olympic team are training at melwood, any confirm or deny?

Yup complete crap! Well maybe not if they have a team for the Olypics.What would it mean if they were training there anyway?

They aren't.

It didn't mean anything ,the lad or girl was only asking a question! Chillax stress ed!

Theres a team called "liverpool" who play in uruguay so if there was a headline along the lines of "uruguay training at liverpool" then more than likely they are training there :)

Why the p*** taking? This is perfectly feasible!? Only uk based Uruguay players play for us so surely makes sense? Football is played across the whole of the uk for the Olympics so could be true. Easy for Ramirez talks!

Some guy made that up on twitter then apologised a he was being sarcastic and didn't think anyone would believe him!
