Hi Ed. Do any clubs hold an interest in Shaktar player Douglas Costa? He has really caught the eye tonight. Ferguson once described him as the best player in South America. I think he is someone Liverpool may look to. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Chelsea, Rubin Kazan, Napoli, Arsenal, Manchester City and no doubt many others have been interested in Douglas Costa in the past 18 months. He was being hawked around Italy and and Portugal by Cesar Bottega a year ago and Napoli expressed an interest. There were some talks but no offer was made. Shaktar's approach to valuing players is not dissimilar to Porto's approach.}

Ed02, With De Bruyne apparently on his way out of Chelsea this winter, what do you reckon the chance are we'll have a cheeky bid?

I ask because there has been a lot of transfer activity between the clubs over recent years with players going both ways (Cole, Benayoun, Torres, Meireles, Sturridge, Moses), and this combined with Rodgers relationships / history there, and our appetite for young talented players with growth potential, and finally our need for an extra attacking midfielder who can play centrally or on the wing, he would seem to be a great fit. {Ed002's Note - If De Bruyne leaves in January it will likely be a loan - and that has already been discussed as a possibility with one side whilst Chelsea were discussing the possible transfer of another player.}

Ed 002, I noticed on the Utd rumour page you have stated there is a possibility of them going in for Konoplyanka. I just wondered whether LFC have shown any interest in him? He has always impressed me more than Yarmalenko with whom we have been linked to recently.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Konoplyanka has been watched by several EPL clubs over the past two years including at least Southampton, Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal and Manchester United. Zenit, Schalke, Napoli, Roma and Galatasaray Konoplyanka has been subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which have been turned down. I expect to see Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player.}

Ed. Are we seriously in for Parstore?. He would cost somehwere 30 mill for sure. {Ed002's Note - Pastore may well be moving next summer - and it is possible that PSG will let him leave in January if a suitable bid is made. I understand that AC Milan have asked to be informed if Pastore becomes available. Right now his form is questionable (as it was for most of last season) and the player may well wish to move on if he does not get a regular place in the team - which he won't unless his form improves. His agent has suggested that Napoli has approached him directly about the availability of the player. Right now, the interest of Liverpool is speculative only - although they did make an enquiry about the player in 2010.}

Lot of talk down here that b.r. still wants gylfi sigurdsson? Long time admirer and a former player! It seems spurs would let him go? Lamela is still settling down and with lennon out injured he has been getting a good run of games under his belt! But as soon as lamela settles and lennon is back plus news that they may well spend again in jan the future for gylfi at spurs doesn't seem bright? Could the lure of working with rogers tempt the icelandic international in a move to anfield? I'm sure it would? Although with spurs willing to sell I believe he will leave, but does the player actually want to leave himself? i'm told he told his agent to rebuff all summer enquiry's including brendon's but I think the player this time will be forced out kicking and screaming but with brendon their to catch him it may ease his pain!

Didn't he snub us for Spurs because he thought they'd be better champions league hopes? Add him to the list of Willian, Mkhitaryan etc. They don't want to build Liverpool, just want to take the glory and command high wages when we're back in the CL. Types of players we don't need.

The rumour quite clearly states that its b.r. that wants the player and that the player would be forced out! So I'm assuming he thinks their chances of c.l are just as good as our's? But if he doesn't want to come then don't bother! But I'm sure he will want out eventually especially when they buy more players?

Good player, he would improve the squad for sure but can't see him playing weekly for us either. We need wingers and BR knows this. Ribery and robben will do ;-)
