Hi Ed’s, Ed002. Leverkusen have been abit of a shock package this season with some of ther younger talents. Brandt, Bailey, Henrichs and mostly Kai Harvertz. Can you see any clubs, Specifically Liverpool Making any attempts for these players?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry I am not going to get involved in transfer matters. You would do better asking on the European pages.}

02 May 2018 12:52:36
Ed002 just so we all know going forward are you not going to get involved in any transfer talk about Liverpool?
Just that way it saves everyone from asking a question that might be better off being asked to another Ed
I hope you carry on as your info was informative and near to the point.
If you don't then many thanks for all the times you did in the past.

Welcome back, Ed02. Hopefully your return is permanent. Let's have a virtual glass of red to celebrate your return! I am sure that you will be cheering us on tonight, so all's good. Take care.

I don't think he ever left, I just don't think he's willing to give transfer info for us, which I understand, he was doing us a favour for free yet the minority ruined it for the rest of us. Either way, as long as your well and good Ed2, that's all what matters mate. I applaud you for your efforts in informing us about all the previous transfers etc. One can only hope we get such a kind act from you in the future again.

It could be that there’s nothing on which to report. There doesn’t have to be an update to transfer dealings everyday, especially when the window is closed. We’ve been spoiled by the information we get from this site and I think expectations get a little much at times.

Eds 01,
Max Meyer has apparently fallen out with the Schalke staff and won't play for them again?
Is he a serious interest and do you believe Klopp will make a move for him, or is he Arsenal bound, which is what my work colleague (Arsenal) believes?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I do not expect him to join us, but he has not chosen where he will be playing next season yet. He just wants out of Schalke.}

02 May 2018 08:18:47
I've never seen the guy play but if he was that great then surely one of the big boys would have snapped him up by now? My understanding is that he's out of contract at the end of the season which means he could have been talking to teams in other countries for a while now.

I reckon he's going to sign for a team a lot lower level than everyone expects him to. West Ham or Palace to hazard a guess.

Not as good as some one here would have you believe.

Not a patch on Ceballos for instance who even he isn’t a certain upgrade on Emre but if he joins and settles well could be a good buy.

I remember that his agent offered him to Barcelona and the declined. He thinks, or his agent thinks that Meyer is a worldclass player when he certainly is not. He has a lot of potential and can be formed in a lot of ways but his management is a bit dodgy.

If i remember correctly then he has the same management as Draxler and before he came to PSG he had the same problems (also fell out with Schalke) as Meyer has now.

Meyer broke into the first team at a really young age and looked a great talent however his career doesn’t seem to have gone on the upward trajectory most thought. He is however still young and a decent player and if he’s not holding out for massive wages and using his leverage as a free transfer I would be keen to go for him as we are in desperate need for midfield reinforcements. I certainly wouldn’t expect him to go straight into our starting line up but he would be a good squad addition.

I think he has some a few negatives against his game that will hurt him in England in particular, but he's very quick with the ball in a way that's similar to Coutinho. I don't personally feel he's an improvement on the Ox. I do think Meyer is a good player and very clever in certain areas of the pitch and would make for a logical addition if Lallana left for any reason, but I still see him having a hard time adjusting especially if he's not played in his more natural attacking position.

Oxlade-Chamberlain anyone? Broke through young age, career stagnated. If klopp says yes then I’m
In!

Ed's, do Liverpool have any interest in Ruben loftus-cheek?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

02 May 2018 07:29:10
I really like the look of him and think if Klopp could get him to fit into our system and high work rate then he would be class. Work rate has been questioned but he’s only young and I see what he’s done with ox (although ox’s determination to succeed has been a major factor) and think he could do the same with RLC.

One to leave alone imo, I don't think he'd fit in with us at all.

02 May 2018 08:08:47
RLC reminds me a lot of Emre Can. Big, physical midfielder who has some neat turns and inconsistently scores and creates goals.

That shared lack of mobility though, just as it has with Can, would see him struggle in our midfield. He lacks the acceleration to press effectively. In my opinion, of course.

The Chelsea player we should've tracked was Thorgan Hazard. I doubt He'd leave Germany now though as he looks settled since his permanent move to Monchengladbach.

Mk, money talks if he is as good as some say and we have an interest in him I am sure the owners would reach agreement with his club for a transfer and wages.
The question is does klopp want or need the player.

02 May 2018 10:44:10
Fingers crossed we don't Walter, I think MK's description of him is pretty spot on.

I think he's very much overrated personally. He's not the kind of player who will give it 100% every game, we need players with the same mentality as Robbo, Salah, Hendo, Firmino, Mane and arguably VVD. They all try hard every single game, without question.

Kieta will add to that list above. If we could bring in one more because one more is needed then we'd be laughing, I'd love us to go for Doucoure or somebody of that calibre.

Agree3 Disagree1

02 May 2018 11:33:05
I've not seen him play at all this season so can't really give an opinion on the player. People said Mane was not going to work out but look at the player now.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 May 2018 13:26:57
good point walter, every transfer is a gamble with many different factors as to why some work and others don't, the only question i would ask a perspective new signing would be can you mentally cope with the pressure of wearing that Liverpool jersey and being able to perform consistently week in week out, we need players who will have the mental strength to want to be winners if we are to become contenders on a regular basis in both the premier league and champions league, the title drought has gone on far too long now and its time we ended the wait.

Very inconsistent player IMO.

A young Tom Huddlestone.
