ed do we have a chance of signing dembele i think hes quality and would suit are play and would be a good buy?

many thanks {Ed005's Note - It depends whether we're interested or not. I'd say if interested we'd have a decent chance.}

I think he's quality as well. Very good passing accuracy to he'd fit nicely into our pass an move philosophy.

And he only has a year left on his contract

Looked good last night.Him and Gerrard would be a great combination.

Demblele,would be a quality signing,and also as good way for the new boss to show he means buisness !!

Completley agree for me dembele 10m, de Jong 12m, affaley 8m would be the perfect summer. Dave

02 Jun 2012 22:46:22
I think Palermo's Uruguayan Striker Abel Hernandez won't be a bad shout. Pace to burn, good finisher, only 20. Can also play out wide on the left as well. What do you think Eds? {Ed005's Note - Palermo don't need to sell, they want to add to their team so although it would be very nice mate I can't see it.}

anything on Afellay? Sigurdsson?

You know we cant buy swansea players

Sigurdsson isn't a swansea player you idiot. The eds have done nothing but say that all day. Try reading before you respond to a post

Sigurdsson isn't a Swansea player he was on loan last year

Sigurdsson does not belong to Swansea

You know he's not a Swansea player!

Dodge

For the last time to anyone reading on this SIGURDSON IS NOT A SEANSEA PLAYER!!!!!!!!

Alright guys i think he got the point after the first 5 times lol

BADGER

No,he didnt. One more time. He's on loan!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Sigurdsson isn't a Swansea plater? Who does he play for? Any chance of signing him? Lol
Bazzaa

So is sigurdsson a swans player or not? {Ed040's Note - not yet anyway everything is in play he just needs to sign the contract which is by no means certain

New away is on the LFC website.
It is pure black with yellow Liver bird and warrior logo but strangley no sponsor logo.

Might be a grower but very stark,very spartan.

Howler {Ed001's Note - that is not the kit! Every year we have this! They put up a blank pic as a teaser, prior to the kit being revealed, on the 4th, it says so on the site!}

No one can live up to the pure genius of this post. Clearly says they'll reveal it on the the 4th of this month.

Doh!

The new away kit is a dark charcoal coloured with highlights grey, same cut and collar as home kit. Not a million miles from current away really.

Sorry where is this? i can't find it. {Ed001's Note - go to the shop on the site, it is a blank teaser pic, not the actual kit.}

I tried telling them that yesterday ed, no one listens {Ed001's Note - it is the same in the lead up to every kit launch, each season. No one ever listens.}

I think they should have that as the away kit! Standard Charter in Gold. It would be quality. Quite a terrifying kit!

Tristan

Actually, ed, it pretty much is the kit. Black with yellow. It will have the sponsor logo, mind. You can check my previous posts, where I said the same thing about a month ago.

In fairness, the Ed shouldn't even have to explain, it's so obvious. Could swear people are just doing it deliberately to get a response.

There's a leaked picture on twitter and it looks black with grey highlights around the neck and down the sides of the top and a crescent around the warrior sign on the shorts but as a previous poster points out, the black might actually be charcoal as the picture is not great,

If your drill down the description says grandad collar and maritime influence. So - not like home kit at all!!

If you'd actually read the text, it says that the away shirt design reflects the maritime history of the club... So most obviously not just plain black.

Interesting to see what they have come up with - anything is better than the manc checked home kit, makes me feel sick just looking at it (probably the badge that does that to be honest) {Ed016's Note - At least they are prepared for their prawn sandwich picnic}

It has been posted on the sightings page

Like clearly that's the away kit- because all the outfield players as well as the goalkeeper will wear the exact same jersey! Isn't it obvious

The away kit will have a grey arc going from shoulder to shoulder, have seen it bk in March. I posted all this months ago along with desc of home kit and 3rd kit being a purple (ish) colour, (eds' can confirm this)

Phil Belfast

I have heard it is yellow with red pinstripes like the early 80's kit

^ its on the sightings page lad have a look

hi
Have you seen dembele and fellaini playing for belgium today? very composed on the ball, always going forward, beating players,great stamina, always in dangerous areas, pass and move minded. very hard to get the ball out of their feet ect. hazard wasnt at their level today. Ed's do you think we coulkd bid for fellaini as he plays for Everton. I know there has been transfers between the two clubs before..barmby, xavier ect. i would love to have fellaini and dembele in the liverpool squad. it would improve us compared to spearing and co.

budashow {Ed001's Note - not going to happen. I wish people wouldn't judge players on a meaningless match, it makes no sense, anyone can play well and show a good touch in a friendly. You have so much more time with the ball and so much less pressure to perform.}

Dembele in the middle with gerro and lucas would smash it quality player

Agrre with ed. Looking at the match, you'd think that Hazard was nowhere near premier league level but he's going to chelsea for a massive price (although they did buy torres for £50M)

Ed001, a little unfair on this chap. I've been very impressed with Dembele all season. He has an ease when with the ball. Never looks at it when he runs, keeps it very tight under control.

Under Rodgers, I think we may have more of a push for the type of players I've always admired. Ball players.

I've been listening to his past interviews and his current ones. I genuinely believe he has the philosophy that the British game has been lacking. What he looks for in players Ja what I've always championed. Quite excited by it all.

I wish Kenny could have stayed, and I hoped Rafa would return. This however could be the start of great times.

D-Day (1892) {Ed001's Note - I was referring to Fellaini when I said never going to happen. As for the rest, he was talking about one match, I don't see how I was being harsh? Dembele needs to learn how to pass before he is useful for us.}

You won't get Fellaini. Not A Chance.
Bobcat {Ed005's Note - We don't need him as Lucas and Gerrard are better players. Plus small clubs like Everton usually put a massive price-tag on their best players to shake off big clubs however I'm sure when a big club comes in he'll jump at the chance.}

Dembele is very good, no doubting that, he's done very well for Fulham in the two seasons he's been there and has worked a good partnership with Dempsey.

The Ed's are allowed their opinions and we should be grateful for them, but there is no harm in respectfully disagreeing with them.

Hazard did look quite average compared to many of the other players on display, but he has just be voted French player of the year for the second time, which i don't think has ever happened before, so he is obviously talented.

As much as I love Fellaini, I can't see him making the move to Liverpool.

Dembele, however, has been a solid performer for Fulham and has been MOTM both times we have played against them this season. I think he would be worth a 10 million pound swoop.

BthekingB

I certainly don't love Fellani and would be very disappointed if we were to buy him.Fortunately it is very unlikely.

Editor clearly did not bother to watch the game! No idea if we are inserted in fellaini or not, but he is certainly a class act.

rumour has it that Theo Walcott was on his way to Anfield and then when Kenny went, then it seems the transfer has fell through, however this deal could be back on

I wouldn't mind seeing Walcott arrive

Althoughhe is a LFC supporter, he has little to no end product so it's a no for me.

Same here

Rodgers game is based completely on game intelligence and composure of which Theo has little

Dodge

According to rumour half the EPL were coming if KD stayed. Load of BS.

And his first touch is on par with Kuyt. Composure on the ball is what were after not a sprint merchant who can't control, pass or cross a ball

Kuyt in swap deal for Vargas on the cards
There are reports that Fiorentina and Liverpool are in talks for a swap deal between Juan Manuel Vargas and Dirk Kuyt.

This week Dutch international Kuyt confirmed he is considering his future, as "there are many clubs that are interested.

"Not only from England, also from Germany, Spain and Italy."

He has one more year left to run on his contract with Liverpool, where he has been since 2006.

Fiorentina hope to use Kuyt as a bargaining tool, because it is widely reported that the Reds want to snap up Peruvian winger Vargas.

The former Catania man had also been linked with Bayern Munich and is thought to be worth €8m.

Source: Football Italia

From what I can gather Vargas is valued at around 14m

Not Kuyt, Aquilani instead.

Fiorentina are actually interested in Aqua man, so i think it makes more sense.

Kuyt is more likely to play in Germany from reports.

Hope not

Don't see where Vargas would fit into our team tbh, surely he'd be in either Downing or Enrique's way? I don't see us signing a replacement for either for at least a season after having spent so much on them. I guess it remains to be seen how Rodgers plays under us but i don't really see Vargas having much of a role.

I reckon we should keep kuyt for the last year of his contract , we need a good squad and he has been a great servant to this club ,financially prob best to cash in but for what he has done for us id like to see him being rewarded with a free transfer at the end of his contract.
red4life

He is a bit old for LFC policy but a straight swop for Aquilani would be good business.

02 Jun 2012 18:17:20
Hi eds, just heard from a mate that thinks there could be a possible swap deal between kuyt and Vargas on the cards. I don't know where he has got his info from but was wondering if there could be any truth to this?. I also think that Vargas would be worth more than kuyt so maybe its a player plus cash deal?

Cheers Mully LFC {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry.}

It was reported on football italia net yesterday by their own staff JIm22

02 Jun 2012 18:10:20
Hey Eds, any chance of: Sigurdson, Milner , Lennon, Dembele or Luuk De Jong? {Ed005's Note - Yes, No, No, Possibly, Yes.}

No chance in sigurdson coz if he signs for Swansea use cant sign him due to compensation agreement which states Liverpool FC cannot sign a player from Swansea in the next 12 months.
Blue Molloy {Ed001's Note - the point is people are suggesting we buy him BEFORE he joins Swansea, not after!}

None at all. However would like Milner

Milner is poor don't know how he is playing for England !

02 Jun 2012 18:06:29
There are reports that Fiorentina and Liverpool are in talks for a swap deal between Juan Manuel Vargas and Dirk Kuyt?? Any true in that?
cheers

The good news is that if true Fiorentina initiated contact with Liverpool we have the upper hand

Eds, I know we keep hearing the same old Cliche, (I have information from a very good source), well I have actually got some concrete information from a very reliable source.

First of all Kenny was not sacked, he actually walked, due to the Americans not letting him have any further funds for transfers. I would have personally liked him to have stayed until Christmas.

Re: The stadium, It is definately going to be a new build, and not the redevelopment of Anfield. This has been worked on for quite some time, with the main hold up being available land.

The Americans can not understanad why Liverpool Council are not jumping through hoops to help them.

They are actually looking for FREE land, and expected the Council to provide this in return for their investment in the ground. They also want to build a hotel and other ammenities around the ground to generate as much income as possible.

The New stadium is approximately two Years away from being finalised.

There are plenty of Funds available for transfers, however, the amount they do invest must return a profit. If there is not going to be a return on there investment, then they will not invest.

My source is the same person that told me that Gary Cahill was going to Chelsea to work with Terry. I posted this well before he left Bolton.

Cant believe people take their time to write out elaborate lies and then dont even leave there name (maybe they might be on the off chance right...lucky guess and get some credit). When people dont even bother signing a post its almost always bulls***

RAH, YNWA

I think the available land would be.........stanley park...

Yep. Nameless post.

BigBadBen

So usually a manager is pushed out and the report says mutual arrangement. This time KD walks and the report is he was sacked, sounds like utter nonsense.
Nothing else you reported is new at all.

You are, indeed, Nostradamus reborn.

Blah blah blah

I'd like to think your source is true but
there is enough land on stanley park
to build 2 stadiums also when anfield
is knocked down it will become a plaza
with all amenities like hotels,restaurants,
cafe's which would benefit the match
going public.......

auntie annie..........

What a crock of bull. Sign it !

Leave a name otherwise pointless post and people won't consider you reliable.

RUBBISH!! the council have given their support for redevelopment of Anfield and have identified all necessary compulsary purchase orders. (forced buying of houses).
source: Ian Ayre

Told you before, and will tell you again, we are redeveloping Anfield. My sources are the builders who have already been contracted.Fact!

LeighT

Most people guessed Cahill was going to Chelsea way before he did, so to use that as the pivot of the reliability of your 'source' is nothing short of laughable

You say KD walked because there were no transfer funds, and then you say there are transfer funds available. Sums up how reliable this post is LMAO

As a surveyor from Liverpool and having worked with the council I can assure you there is plenty land (especially towars the docks) that the coucil would give us for free if we redeveloped it as it is in the councils planning document which is publicly available! The stopping point is whether we want to move or not, oh and as for the guy who claims he knows the builders whove been contracted, I doubt that because its not been announced for tender yet? Any applications to redevelop or build a new stadium will be publically available on LCC planning site. Regards, Os Red

Planning permission is already in place for Stanley park you dingbat

Well if its true FSG are definately not interested in the club or the city just making moneyfree land - who do they think they are?? - .......my football club is just a business, its heart was ripped out the day the premiership went global and football became a business - liverpool is what it is cos of scousers, the club began with a scouse support and now its morphed into a global monster that has supporters all over the world demanding a bigger stadium, rebuild, ridiculous transfers and fees and none of them care for us that live around the ground, what we want, hope for and think.....they forget that the support in the ground during 50's, 60's 70' 80' and 90's was devoid of the football tourist from outside of the Merseyside area, what they bought into was how scousers sang and supported our club, now they want to just do what they want to our city around the ground for "their" football club....well it aint a club no more, it is only a faceless business with support that cares nothing for the city and those of us on whom the fans reputation was born.

Rodgers will target Marvin Martin of Sochaux in a £10million deal. Has been likened to Xavi and is exactly the type of player Rodgers likes

I thought Martin was a winger?

TSP

Why are you so certain ?

Much more like Iniesta than Xavi.

Primarily an Attacking Midfielder, but can as a secondary position play wide left or right.

I think Liverpool should be offering £25 million for both Ryad Boudebouz and Marvin Martin. Greatly increase our potential, and both are quite young.

Hes an attacking midfielder alright.you may be thinking of marko marin who signed for chavski,hes a winger.
marvin martin would be right up br street.

The only similarity is ther are both football players. Xavi is unique

Where did you get 25 mil from, martins ten and boudebouz is 6.5 as eds have already said lots

Meaning xavi of barca? {Ed040's Note - Martin is a playmaker, he plays that sort of undefined role between midfield and attack much like Silva, Mata etc do. A position we have not got covered at the moment so i'd expect one to come in}

02 Jun 2012 15:51:08
Hi eds, just heard from a mate that thinks there could be a possible swap deal between kuyt and Vargas on the cards. I don't know where he has got his info from but was wondering if there could be any truth to this?. I also think that Vargas would be worth more than kuyt so maybe its a player plus cash deal?

Cheers Mully LFC {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry.}

Swaps rarely happen, mate. Would say unlikely but would like to say goodbye and thanks to Kuuyt.....hard-worker who has stumped up with some big goals but couldn't trap a bag of sand. Awful first touch and very erratic in front of goal, I'm afraid!
ANFIELDPETE

Is newsnow your mate?

02 Jun 2012 15:27:05
Eds do you think cristian tello is a realistic option? A young great winger that would fit in perfectly. {Ed001's Note - no, I expect he will stay at Barca myself, he is extremely highly rated there.}

There's talk of him being used as a makeweight for the transfer of Valencia's Jordi Alba to Barca, with a buyback clause.

02 Jun 2012 15:11:04
Any chance of kalou? I think he's been released by chelsea. Only 26 and can pop up with goals at critical times like benayoun. {Ed001's Note - yes but Benayoun had ability and intelligence, Kalou completely lacks either.}

He is shocking

Harsh ! Ever considered the diplomatic corps Ed ? B {Ed001's Note - I thought I was being diplomatic! What I usually call him, I can't repeat on here.}

Kalou is like a broken pencil - pointless. Singred

Pahetic idea

That comment should mean a ban on this site. This person is too much of a nugget to post. {Ed005's Note - Why did it deserve a ban?}

02 Jun 2012 15:06:51
not much talk about eriksen lately eds, anyone showing any interest in him? saw him against man u in europa league and he looks exactly like what rodgers would be looking for, good composure on the ball good passer and gets about the pitch well

cheers :) {Ed001's Note - because he doesn't want to come to England, he has stated his desire to stay at Ajax for a couple more seasons and then move to Spain.}

Strange. Being a nord, he should come to England. The Scandinavians usually do pretty well in this country. They don't moan like the Argentines about the weather. Respect.

02 Jun 2012 14:59:47
somebody told me about a week ago that rodgers would be our man i idnt beleive him seen as everybody was talking about Martinez, he also told me about a couple of the signings last year before they was done so i now trust him and he's telling me Suarez will be leaving and there's no doubt about it.. also he said Suarez wont be the only one leaving the club.

Personally i wouldn't mind suarez leaving at all, if he doesn't wanna be around then do one, we'll get a decent price and get a couple of top players hopefully

Funny how you just mention it now if has got EVERYTHING right so far
you seem very untrusting

Do you not think that maybe he has no choice in the matter and it may not be a case of him "not wanting to be around"
Tom

Who let the dog out.
arvin

Suarez is staying. How many times must this be reiterated! There will be no main players leaving the club, Kuyt and Carragher being the exception. We are adding 4 to the playing staff. I will not advise who they are yet.

What makes you think suarez does'nt want to be here, maybe the owners don't want him

Luis Suarez wants to stay. I know. It will be down to the manager if he goes. So what if he talks about Juventus with his mate Caceres. Every footballer does it with a friend who plays for another club. I have in good faith that he will be discussing a new contract with Skrtel and Agger. Ian Ayre has publicly said he will begin negotiations once a manager was in.

Thanks Markolfc85

Suarez has, like many others fallen in love with Liverpool, because of the history and most of all the fans. Have you watched him last season, he wants to earn his salary and works bloody hard to please us fans. He does not WANT to leave.
Bazzaa

I can see a lot of deluded fans here desperately clinging to the hope that Suarez stays. Face it, he's gone. The evra thing was huge and the owners are raging, One of the main reasons Kenny lost his job was due to his horrendous handling of the press in regards to this issue. Besides trouble seems to follow Suarez wherever he goes. PSG or juve looking likely

Everyone didn't think it was Martinez, macca on here certainly didn't

...And do either of you oracles have a name so that we can follow your posts more closely?

Pepe's Barber

Your that sure u dont sign your name

O yes he does

The same person that told you told me(macca)

02 Jun 2012 14:47:41
Now that the manager situation is sorted out (and im happy with the Rodgers appointment) im looking forward to getting some trasnfer target info from macca. Also wondering if any of the eds know if there is interest in the young dutchman Adam maher from any teams? appreciate it eds YNWA {Ed001's Note - there has been a lot of talk about him, but I don't know of any serious interest so far, but it is early days in this window yet.}

Who does adam mayer play for, is that the young mid from ajax, if so i agree 100%

02 Jun 2012 14:43:02
Hi all you may all want to read this article being published tonight on Th guardian website http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/31/liverpool-new-stadium-anfield-expansion

Interesting maybe the press conference could entail further details as well as the unveiling of the new management team exciting times!

Why can't they build new homes on the stanley park site and give them to the home owners in return for their current homes. I'm sure most would agree to a brand new, up-graded house.

Read it carefully. Ayres has been to ONE meeting involving any homeowners. This is ONE option the club is exploring.

If we move to a new stadium, Anfield will be demolished anyway, and the area redeveloped. So either way, these homeowners will need to move.

02 Jun 2012 14:29:37
While at Chelsea and Swansea Brendan worked with a player called Fabio Borini, who played as a lone striker, supported by technically gifted players who could spin a ball on a thripny bit so to speak.

At 21, Fabio would be a great addition to the team. With Suarez, and possibly Bellamy dropping in just behind him. Have you heard any rumours about possible interest in Fabio since his move to Roma? Thanks, YNWA, Andy W

Isn't he co owned between roma and parma he only signed last january he seems to have done well i watched him score 2 against inter a few month ago wonder why he never made it at chelsea
riley

Didn't Rodgers take him on loan at Swansea when they were in the Championship ?

Hans

No more Italian players, please. They either can't handle the pace (Dossena) or get homesick (Aquilani) and they're way overpriced.

Love it! Worked with him before and is young enough and cheap enough to take a small gamble on. Could be exactly what we need. Any real interest from Liverpool or BR when he was at Swansea?

Cheers
Glov3z the Red

02 Jun 2012 14:17:57
Eds, what is the status of Ever Banega right now. Is he still injured? Would love to have him to play alongside lucas. Is lfc still maintain interest in him? Can we get him under 10m?

Jiminez'lfc {Ed001's Note - impossible to say what is happening, they have just changed manager, he will have his own ideas on things.}

02 Jun 2012 14:02:32
are we still interested in rasmus elm or do you reckon brendan rodgers will opt for othern players

02 Jun 2012 13:47:36
Jay Spearing is set to join Southampton on loan for the season with the option of a permanent deal. He's even spoke to Rickie Lambert about what the club is like. There is also interest from Wigan and a couple of Championship clubs. Although he wants to stay in the premier league. He is going to talk with BR before deciding where his future lies.

Goose

Its about the correct level for him , badly found out in fa cup final and man utd away game

Spearing is staying put

Spearing will be sold or stay - no loandeals. He is too old for that...

02 Jun 2012 13:46:42
Ed(s) I was just wondering if you could tell me whether or not we have any interest in the following players : Christian eriksen, very creative player, Luuk de Jong, gio dos santos and Diego godin and if after the euros we could be interested

Cheers {Ed001's Note - yes but no chance of getting him, yes, no, possibly as we have in the past.}

02 Jun 2012 13:30:26
I thought if dalglish was sacked suarez would leave? Is this still true?

As if the club would agree to something like that. No it isn't true.

Never was, load of B.S.
CR

I hope not and I'm sure that he'll stay

So dalglish's best signing is going to leave and the worse ones will be still there to drag us down! if that you all wish, then let's get rid of suarez.

Everyonerelated to the racism incident has been moved on. As far as I can see there is one person left...very much doubt he will be a Liverpool player next season.

02 Jun 2012 13:27:09
Guillem Balague @GuillemBalague tweeter.
If the 1 week old conversation between Beguiristain and LFC end up well, the marriage will be exciting. But not sure it's what FSG want now.

r-r {Ed001's Note - is that him covering himself after denying that Txiki and Liverpool were in any kind of talks whatsoever?}

The 1 week conversation took place after he made those comments. {Ed001's Note - so he says, but everyone else knew full well that Txiki had been spoken to long before, as has been mentioned numerous times. Balague is just covering because he got it wrong. It happens, but he could have just held his hands up and admitted it, we all get it wrong at times.}

02 Jun 2012 12:56:14
eds any chance of ba as 7 mill will be enough to sign him {Ed001's Note - that is only to a Champions League team.}

No I wouldn't want him

02 Jun 2012 12:55:33
eds, i heard that jose bosingwa has been released by chelsea, any chance of signing him as back-up? {Ed001's Note - god no, he is awful.}

I really do like the feedback that ed001 provides. Concise and rarely ambiguous. {Ed001's Note - that was my polite reply. It wasn't my first one, I had to delete the first reply and retype it.}

Im sorry but how can you call a player that is a full international and has just won the champions league awful ?? {Ed001's Note - easily, because i have seen him play and he is awful. Djimi Traore won the Champions League and was a full international, but he was awful too.}

We don't require his monobrow at anfield

Another pahetic post

I can't believe that player has won so much how did he make it as a pro!?!
Kp

With Brendan Rodgers able to speak Spanish as well as English do you think this would help in negotiating deals for Spanish players? Any chance of Muniain from Bilbao. I beleive he is the perfect wide man for Liverpool and would fit the system and style Rodgers likes to play.

The manager doesnt do the talk, they have dedicated staff to do most of the contract talks. He has a say, just you can't honestly expect him to be involved in everything. My girlfriend speaks spanish does that mean she has more of a chance in attracting spanish players then i do?

No hope not

Wouldn't Munian speak Basque though?

I bloody hope so mate that boy is too drawer from what I have seen of him. We should raid Bilbao for few of there young stars as they play the way Brendan likes to play! Munain sauseta Martinez Lorente can't think of the other one but class players

I was thinking this same thing. Not about Munian specifically but you would think him speaking Spanish would at least help a little in regards to attracting Spanish players. Always nice to be able to communicate with your boss.

If they know he speaks Spanish it may help to persuade spanish speaking players to come as they know they will be able to speak to and understand the manager and will help them to settle in. However I dont think Rodgers will be involved with contracts etc as that is not his job. As for Munian I have a feeling that he may be on the cards, going to keep my fingers crossed that we can get him.

RAH, YNWA

Munain de jong suarez front 3 would terroriise

Muniain is a big headed oaf who thinks too highly of himself. Please don't give him the time of day

Brendan does speak spanish it was in papers

02 Jun 2012 12:45:26
siggurdson will be our first signing under rogers

Great....NOT! More average sh!te!

No he won't Rodgers ISN'T allowed to buy ANY Swansea players for 12 months

Have you actually watched him play? He's a quality player

He's technically not a Swansea player

Reported that Swansea has agreed to personal terms

Siggurdson is not a Swansea player, so we could sign him - but since its a GENTLEMANS agreement, I hope, and guess, we will stay away from that deal.

Hes not a swansea player he is a hoffenheim player

Hi Ed, some reports are saying Rodgers wants to bring in marouane fallaini from across the park, have you heard anything on this? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Said reports are coming from "Caught Offside" which is media patter for "Absolute Balderdash". Anything, ANYthing coming from that website can be rubber stamped "FALSE"

Reports caught offside is the only 1 iv seen reporting it if its on there its all lies i used to use caught offside before i found this site and not once did they ever get a single transfer right until the signing had been done and usually reported in the papers they just make stuff up to get people looking i wouldn't believe a word that web site said
riley

Yeah caughtoffside is a load of s**te, really good player fellaini. belgiums best player this evening, be a great signing if we could get him

02 Jun 2012 12:28:53
Hey Eds, just wanted to ask as there are mixed answers I'm getting. We can't buy any Swansea players for a year, right? 'Cause some people are still saying we can sign Joe Allen, but with that 12 month 'no buying Swansea players' deal, it can't really happen. So hope you Eds can clarify it.

Oh and if it is the case, would we be allowed to bid for Sigurdsson?

RenegadeRed {Ed001's Note - Sigurdsson isn't a Swansea player, so we can bid for him, but not for Swansea players for 12 months. That was one of the reasons that the talks took so long to resolve.}

Ed001, but can we bid for a Swansea player if another club has a bid accepted? Because surely the intent there is to sell the player so would we be able to bid for the player?

Lee Wickham JFT96 YNWA {Ed001's Note - as far as I can figure it out, there is no caveat regarding anyone else bidding for one.}

Is this '12 months no buying Swansea players' for real. Liverpool will be deny any bid even when Spurs putting a bid and accepted? {Ed016's Note - We will not be buying and Swansea players for 12 months}

Reina will not leave this year,
@reina_official: Looking much forward to work under Brendan - did great things at swansea and happy he's joined us here at liverpool.

That's a fake account, Reina hasn't got a twitter account.

Phill.

Pepe does not have Twitter!

Even if he did he wouldn't be tweeting because they're not allowed while they're away with their country...

Stone YNWA.

Even if he had said this, which he hasn't, when will people learn that these comments don't mean a thing.

Regardless, Pepe will be staying, and if his confidence picks up under Rodgers then he'll be with us for years. Yusuf Mersin will be the long-term successor (5 or 6 years).

02 Jun 2012 12:21:35
Ed(s)..? What's up with Tello from Barca? He available on a free, or he expecting a new deal from Barca? L {Ed001's Note - he is in contract talks.}

I hope we can get him on loan even if he does sign a new deal with barca

02 Jun 2012 12:15:15
any chance to get Kevin Strootman of PSV?

I actually watched his last season video. Very good at winning the ball back but does not really have anything else extraordinary.

02 Jun 2012 12:03:34
Eds, are lfc scouts watch andriy yarmolenko? I think he's good if we cant get boudebouz or gaston ramirez or younes belhanda. He got pace,
skillfull, trickery.

Eds, have you watch Holland firendly game? Looks like Afellay is ok now. Any chance lfc will bid for him? For less than 10m, i think gud investment. Plus we may need to bid higher price for striker or another playmaker.

Jiminez'lfc. {Ed001's Note - we have had a look at him, don't know about interest though. No I didn't watch any of the friendlies, and I hardly see how it proves Afellay is ok anyway. He has longterm problems, there is no way of knowing from a couple of games if he is going to recover. Certainly I wouldn't trust in his fitness for 10m and big wages.}

02 Jun 2012 11:23:13
Hi Ed's, any news on David Dein? Do you think he was one of the 'well respected people in football' that Ayre refers to in his interview that formed part of the decision making process on the new manager.....so acting more in a consultant capacity rather than giving him a full time role within the club?

Leffeman101 {Ed001's Note - yes, I do think he was certainly consulted, it does seem he has rejected a role with the club, probably keeping the chances of an Arsenal return open. But you never know when it is people, they make decisions for reasons that can seem strange from the outside.}

I also have a feeling they consulted John Barnes. There was a piece he wrote that was posted on the LFC website, that was all about 'the Liverpool way of playing'. He talked about having a philosophy that extended from the youth set up to the first team, which was echoed in the press conference and in Rodgers appointment. Perhaps it was coincidence, but Digger's been involved with the club's promotional work of late so maybe?

02 Jun 2012 12:13:42
Hey Ed's/Macca

Whats the latest on Ryad Boudebouz?

Many thanks

Interest has been highlighted to his club but no more

02 Jun 2012 11:52:49
Hey is there any interest in Tranquillo Barnetta? I heard he wanted to leave..He's super consistent and did super against Germany albeit in a friendly. {Ed002's Note - Barnetta is available on a free - and may well join Newcastle or Borussia Monchengladbach.}

Damn Newcastle must have some extremely clever scouts. If they get him they're looking more of a threat to the top 4 than us. A great signing would be the man that's doing the business for them

02 Jun 2012 11:52:26
Brendan Rodgers: "I want to use the incredible support to make coming to Anfield the longest 90 minutes of an opponent's life." i think we may have a new quote going down in history

eds is there any interest in sigurdsson or just speculation?
{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea.}

Love this quote, hope he does as good as what he says

Very similar to the great Bill Shankly, my favorite quote ever:
"My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in."

World Class!!
Evered

02 Jun 2012 11:51:29
eds, can we buy siggurdson this summer or his at swansea. iknowhes ony aloan deal. thanks {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

02 Jun 2012 11:47:37
Gaston Ramirez's Agent suggest Bologna want £20m for the Uruguayan.claims MCFC,juve & wolfsburg are all interested.unclear about #LFC interest after the change in the Manager job {Ed002's Note - Or before.}

We cannot afford him.

02 Jun 2012 11:44:37
if Suarez is sold (even though he wont) who would be the likeliest replacement?

What a stupid question

Not sure why you even bothered asking the question if you believe his not going to be sold!

Number 1 Suarez wont be sold and number 2 if he is "sold" then maybe Jordan Rhodes

You answered your own question!has to be the stupidest question ever,go for a long lie down fella

Me! im well good...soft lad

02 Jun 2012 11:36:21
hey eds i notice that we are linked to marco bueno, hector herrera and jackson martinez. is it because we have had scouts over there or did we sign some deal there that we get the first choice. i'm just interested to see what you know about these players and if the links carry any weight. cheers. {Ed002's Note - Try the search function please.}

Didn't we scout Bueno at the u17 world cup and then followed up with him at his club and the scouts also liked Herrera. don't know about martinez

02 Jun 2012 11:16:56
Hi Eds, could you please name us the players that we are attempting to buy and sell? Thanks YNWA {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

Can you also tell me tonights lottery numbers?

Dan

02 Jun 2012 11:15:33
Hello Ed,

I am not saying that Reina is leaving but let us suppose Liverpool requires a first choice keeper. What are the chanses of El Habsi? I think he is on the the top goal keepers in the EPL. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. {Ed002's Note - I really cannot say as Liverpool do not seem to be looking for a goalkeeper right now.}

02 Jun 2012 11:12:53
ED's...

Ahead of England's game with England - 23 Year old Belgian international Axel Witsel looks a real star in the making...

Do you know of any interest in this lad from Liverpool or anyone else?

Cheers...

RobbehLFC. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were interested a couple of years ago but he only moved last year and there is reported interesdt from Milan. You may want to look out the Wasilewski tackle.}

THAT WAS UGLY. THAT TACKLE. OMG AXEL WITSELS A DEVIL.

Kaizer

Ed002 that was disgusting, put me right off my biscuits!

Square tomato

Please advise of graphic nature when relevant in the future! Just kidding! That tackle is horrible! He can't wear a Liverpool shirt if he is capable of that.

Cheers for the input ED002...

Hadn't seen anything of that before but it reminds me of the Roy Keane challenge...No place for that in football - but that was 3 years ago when he was 19/20? - perhaps he has learnt from past mistakes...

Also excuse the typo in the original post I meant ''ahead of England's game with Belgium'' which I gather you gathered...

Cheers.

RobbehLFC.

Im losing faith in football. He seemed to win the ball or at least was an attempt at winning the ball. So I dont see why he was sent off, it was not deliberate.

I have it on good faith that Mourinho wants him at Madrid.

I think Defour has potential aswell, as does Mertens

GuvTOB

02 Jun 2012 11:05:56
Eds if Suarez does leave would there be a chance at all of Edinson Cavani? {Ed002's Note - None.}

It would be Caviani and Lavezzi both coming in. There has already been speculation but no more as of yet

Yes a good chance of seeing him play somewhere else.

02 Jun 2012 10:51:22
Is rodellega from Wigan a free agent?

Out of contract, not sure he's been released. I do hope you aren't suggesting that LFC go for him lol

Liverpool r crap get over it and support m anchester united cause there better tha liverpool idiots

We will surely ave anough money to buy ibrahamivic

To the Man Utd fan (what time is it in Beijing with you?) Man Utd have under achieved over the last 25 yrs only winning two Champions leagues while dominating English footy. Concentrate on your own debt riden corporate machine and let us LFC fans get on with footy matters!

02 Jun 2012 10:45:45
Question for any eds knocking about. LFC and Swansea have reached a agreement that LFC cannot buy any Swansea players for 12 months, but what would happen if LFC matched a bid from another club for 1 of their players? Would we be able to speak to the player or not?

Rob Smith ynwa JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Please see earlier answers. I don't see the owners wanting more controversy for the club.}

02 Jun 2012 10:40:45
Eds when do you think Rodgers will start making changes to the squad e.g buying and selling players and what do you think are the chances of us getting Sigurdsson and Fellani? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea when changes will be made. As for the players - I would say doubtful.}

Why the hell is everyone talking about that guy fellani.. they guy is crap and way over rated..

Fellaini is crap? Get a grip

Tree Blue

02 Jun 2012 10:28:54
there will be a few transfer talks but its the euros this friday and im pretty sure most players are gonna be training with there international team but after the euros expect big transfers from every club in the epl

02 Jun 2012 10:25:03
Jordy Clasie £8M sat to be BR first signing

I hope so! Seen him play a couple times,
A lot like jake wilshere of arsenal but tougher! Will be top quality ina few years!

Looks like a good little player, perfect for Rodgers

Love the way he tackles like Lucas. He is a new bread of midfielders. composed, standing tackles, interceptions(because of reading the game), ball distribution and he doesn't need to be powerful as Xavi, Iniesta, Lucas etc has proved.

02 Jun 2012 10:16:38
Is Johnston still Possibly leaving. If so we should look at Richards from city. He's good young and English. Is he a possibility and how much would he cost. YNWA DW {Ed002's Note - I don't see Micah Richards being available and if he were to be there would be plenty of interest.}

02 Jun 2012 10:12:44
Good morning eds and fans a question to the eds, have pool ever bought a player from everton? and would the clubs really do business together?
hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - Off the top of my head I think Barby moved directly and I am pretty sure Xavier did.}

Moved from Everton directly to Liverpool:
2002 Abel Xavier
2000 Nick Barmby
1959 Dave Hickson (also played for Tranmere Rovers)
1957 Tony McNamara
1949 John Heydon (also played for Tranmere Rovers)
1936 Bill Harthill
1935 Jack Balmer
1934 Thomas Johnson
1919 Frank Mitchell (also played for Tranmere Rovers)
1912 Bill Lacey (part of exchange deal for Uren, also played for New Brighton)
1912 Tom Gracie (part of exchange deal for Uren)
1908 Don Sloan
1904 David Murray
1897 Abe Hartley
1896 Alex Latta (never made a senior appearance for Liverpool)
1895 Fred Geary
1894 John Whitehead (also played for Bootle)
1893 Patrick Gordon
1892 Duncan McLean
1892 Tom Wylie
Everton's first ever manager W. E. Barclay stayed on at Anfield after Everton moved to Goodison Park to become Liverpool's first manager.

Nick Barmby and abel Xavier did indeed move directly to us, and Beardo and Gary Ablett did the opposite

Get over it we wont get em

Is that barby kens bird

02 Jun 2012 10:12:39
Hi all, surely we should b in for hoilett and drenthe, both on frees and would b the start of the pace injection to the team we need. Anyone else agree? Excellent job eds keep up the good work. Gazza84

Yeah mate absolutely agree with hoilett, but drenthe? sure he's quick, but he's such a t**t i don't think he's worth the trouble. his absence even from the bench in the FA cup semi was down to failing to report to training, something he has a history of doing with hercules in spain which actually was the reason for his being sold. mike

Brendan keeps reiterating that his system requires players that, above technicality, work hard for the team. I can't help but think that at least one, if not both, of these players do not fit the bill.

Brian from Birmingham

Are you for real tell me your not drenthe hahaah

If u had a clue and followed him as long as I have, 2008 u21 holland team along with Ryan babbel you would understand that he's a gd player, mike your right mate, he's a bit of a troublemaker but he has undoubted ability, let's face it Madrid wouldn't of signed him after the 2008 u21 euros if he was a bad player, he has far more ability than downing who beats a man once a month, Rodgers will b looking for hard working players yes but 1s with the ability to open up defenses not square passes like eg, dirk, works all day but hasn't got the cutting edge we've lacked since Steve mcmanaman. Cheers {Ed001's Note - Drenthe has issues off the field, there is no way he will be joining us, thankfully. He is nowhere near as good a player as he thinks he is, and certainly not good enough to get away with going to parties the night before a match.}

2007 u21 championship, drenthe was best player by a country mile, Brendan is known for getting the best out of his players and if he can get drenthe to the land of level that saw real madrid snap him up on a big money move then it would be an amazing signing, gazza84. {Ed001's Note - no no no, it is not about his ability, it is about his off field activities. The guy is a complete joke, Moyes couldn't wait to get shut of him.}

I agree with the post. Drenthe is and would be the best LB cover and he can play both L&RW not to mention free.

contradicting yourself saying he isn't good then saying it isn't about his abilities.?? he is very good and he didn't have any issues at Real Madrid he just got surpassed by Marcelo. at Hercules it was to do with no getting paid. and the only two incidences were for Holland when he got dropped can't remember why and with Everton, my point is he is a professional at top clubs. {Ed001's Note - rubbish, he didn't get surpassed by Marcelo, he was dropped for disciplinary reasons, the same reason he was dropped by Everton and his pay was withheld at Hercules. Please try and learn something about the subject you are discussing before trying to sound like a know it all. The guy has issues and needs to sort those out.}

Drenthe is very good on the field. He's had a few issues with being out late, drunk etc.

But he is a damn good footballer, he was somewhat abused by Real Madrid when he was there, as he didn't play after he was booed off.

Since then he's been very good for Hercules in Span and for Everton in England.

I believe that if Drenthe was taken in by a big club, and appreciated by the club and the fans, you'd see a new reinvigorated and energised Drenthe.

Just to inform you. Swansea have a clause preventing Liverpool buying any Swansea player for the next 12 months. Fact.

Very assertive FACT!, shame it has been mentioned more than the word fact on this site mate

I heard it was just 6 months - until January.

It will hence forth be known as Santa's clause....

Jolly Red

This is known since y'day morning at 11:00am.. Fact

Old news

Old news I know but people still posting that we're buying Swansea players. And it's defo 12 months.

Did you also know brendon rodgers is liverpools new manager FACT

02 Jun 2012 09:56:21
Sources say that Brendan Rodgers is interested
In Maroune Fellani, is there any truth in this EDs
Or Macca, would be very happy if you answer

Keep up the good work :)

Jordy Clasie the dutch XAVI is BR CM man

Blimey, I hope not.

You mean the mirror get a life

02 Jun 2012 09:36:23
Are liverpool at all interested in young boys young centre forward emmanuel mayuka, young fast and the best forward at the anc this year. {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry. Is this from some game?}

Didnt he use to be at newcastle? all i know is that he is amazing! i think he is like 20 years old.

I think he means acn - African cup of nations

African Cup Of Nations

GuvTOB

I'm sorry, but I read this as

"Are Liverpool at all interested in young boys" and thought you were accusing the club of a most heinous crime.

Jolly Red

Haha i signed him on my fifa manager career about october before the CoN and was convinced we should sign him, he's rapid!

I think he means young boys the team {Ed001's Note - Young Boys who play at Wankdorf......}

02 Jun 2012 09:33:21
been told liverpool goin to give alan smith a rolling contract. plus heard reina wants out, so rodgers wants his old keeper vorm. very good sources!

If he wants Vorm then he has to wait for a year, your source's need to pay attention to what's going on and Alan Smith??

He wont be able to get him for 12 months will he..

Haha no

Very bad sources you mean

Just to inform you. Swansea have a clause preventing Liverpool buying any Swansea player for the next 12 months. Fact.

So how we gonna get vorm if we can't buy there players for 12 months

Do you ever pay attention to the news he can't sign any swansea players for a year !!!!!!

Well your sources have miss informed you as we cannot buy any Swansea player for 12 months as a part of the compensation packet you complete t**! Stop thinking you have sources when you obviously don't ! And wait for people who actually do! And he has been in charge for less than 24 hours so stop coming up with all our transfer targets! Utter BS! Big Mike

Is this Alan Smith who played in league 1 last season, towards the end of his career?

How many times are people going to have to say this.....we cannot sign any swansea player for one year.

Abit hard considering rodgers cant sign any swansea players for 12 months?

You may have been told it but obviously by someone who hasn't really got a clue

Very good sources the papers unreal

You sir, are a complete idiot.

02 Jun 2012 09:23:50
Morning Ed, if Manchester city sign another striker this summer, which looks likely, do you think they would release Guidetta? I know Rodgers was keen on signing him on loan, do you think he may go for him to buy? {Ed002's Note - I don't think they would release him but may look to loan him out again. Much will depend on who leaves in addition to Adebayor. I guess the question should be, "if Tevez leaves".}

Ver good player, scored lots for Feynoord!

02 Jun 2012 09:01:45
Good day Eds..

Eds, need your answer on this since we have new manager already.

1)Is it true B.Rodgers cannot sign his former player in 12 months? Gylfi Sigurdsson is not yet their player right?

2)Adam Johnson will likely get to play more game at City next season. Is it possible to get him for 12M? Will provide good competition for Downing. He also can play L/R wing.

3)Eds, do you know BR play 442 system of 4231 system?

Hope LFC make early signing just like Arsenal, Chelsea. Last minute signing always comes with crazy prices.

Jiminez'LFC {Ed002's Note - (1) There is an agreement that Liverpool will not seek to buy players from Swansea this season. Sigurdsson is not yet a Swansea player. (2) A little confused - If as you say Johnson will get more games at MCFC next season then I assume he is not being sold? In my view he may well move on this summer. (3) I have no real interest in formations or discussing them. Folks are misled about formations as they constantly need to adapt during a match. I recall a discussion once where it was decided that the only time formations could be considered fixed was at kick off. I know this guy at Clairefontaine who for maybe 20 years has been studying if and how different formations are applied. He advocates and teaches that certain sides (he cites Barcelona, Chelsea, Ajax and Kashima Antlers) that have achieved varying levels of success have actually now reverted to something between no formation at all and the Metodo approach and that strict formations should be a thing of the past. He wants to see intelligent players that can adapt as the game changes and this is what is being toaught to the French kids who are seen as the future of the game in France.}

Is Vorm a Swansea player or was he on loan? {Ed002's Note - Swansea.}

Ed002 interesting, I remember reading you write this previously. However, didn't Chelsea achieve their greatest success with far more rigid formations this season? Organisation seemed to be key to your success. That said, I agree formations change constantly in a game depending on whether you have the ball or not.

Richards {Ed002's Note - Chelsea got through three matches by pretty much killing the game - perhaps some would call it good defending, but in my view they very much "got away" with it and I very much doubt it would ever work again. Nobody was proud of the way the played but the results made it worthwhile.}

That's what I was going to say. When you're in possession your formations is the one you set out with but there are obvious movement patterns between players. When you're don't have possession however I'm clueless.

GuvTOB

Agreed Ed002, I don't think RA would want to watch that every week... probably why he's signing Hulk, Hazard etc... However, it was successful and although extreme in how it was used defensive organised football was a way to counter that system. But yes they probably did get away with it...

Richards

Ye ed 02 chelseas hadn got a formation it was all men behind the ball defend for your lifes and in fairness thy done that an old italian approach barca do have a formation do its just very fluid all players interchanging except the 2 centre halfs {Ed001's Note - including the centre halves, they are allowed the freedom to move forward at will, often they are in midfield.}

02 Jun 2012 08:57:45
Newly installed Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to shake up Merseyside with a daring move for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini

Not good enough

According to caughtoffside, so it's obviously total made-up nonsense.

Would be a good signing, but I can't see Ronald McDonald look-alike moving, he is a fairly loyal player to them!

Stop making things up

Youd have to close enough double the 17 million euros everton paid for him and then actually persuade him to leave

Certainly hope so!cant c it tho.would be an amazing addition bt is gonna cost big>jonny m

I would be very surprised and disappointed if that were true.

02 Jun 2012 08:52:32
Liverpool are holding talks with barca winger and Netherlands international Ibrahim Afellay! We should get him for a mere £6 m according to reports and this is a must for Brendan

Where did you hear that? Hope its true!!

Where did you find this or just make it up?

I am not convinced completely about this player, just because he has played for Barcelona it doesn't make him a world beater. However, I think at 6 million it would be worth a shot, even if he may be slightly injury prone!

Then you woke up and smelt the coffee, he cost barca more than that when he had just a year left on his contract, hes in the dutch squad for the up and coming euros, hes gonna be probably a 20/25 million pound player come end of july i reckon

Your way off mate. 20-25 million? What have you drank for brekky.

He was bought for 3m euros. Get ur facts right.

Fool he cost barca 3 million euros. they woul be getting like 7.4m euros for him at £6m

02 Jun 2012 08:46:42
Any chance us buying vorn if reina decides to leave...he's a great shot stopper

Not for 12 months

Shotstopper. That's the key word. We need a goal keeper, not a shot stopper.

No for 12 months... Would be a great signing if pepe did leave; however in my opinion he wont... But hey this is the crazy game!

I would prefer Ruddy I think, and we can't buy Vorm anyway can we! Or Stekleenburg from Roma?

02 jun 2012 08:38:27
5 i would like to see come in to the liverpool squad joe allen ,ryad boudebouz,luuk de jong, gaston ramirez,gylfi sigurdsson, what you think of this list edds? i think we could get all of these {Ed002's Note - There are a couple who could well arrive.}

We can't get Allen, Ramirez now looks city bound, sigurdsson maybe.....I think De Jong and Boudebouz could well arive.

Square tomato

Allen in 12 months when its allowed for liverpool to sign a player from swansea, ramirez is 99% signing for napoli, he thinks it, his agent seems to be saying its done, gylfi is gonna go to swansea, he loves it there, nailed on he will sign for them, de jong and boudebouz though look likely, i heard anthony annan is about to sign though, quality young defensive mid who fits in the rodgers style of play

02 Jun 2012 08:37:09
Don't want to be slated for being stupid or something here... But I have been looking at some other sites saying a.Johnson to Sunderland 10 mill and l.dejong 7 mill to Newcastle...
To me these are ridiculously low prices and if either or both are true Liverpool should at least equal the bids.. And I know I know probably not true but still it's a rumour site..

ShaneK Lfc

I'd say Adam Johnson for 10 million is a fair price, he hasn't done enough at City to increase his price tag! I haven't seen De Jong play much, and don't know how much Twente value him at though, so no idea on his price tag!

Adam johnson is a sunderland fan and luuk de jong is never more than a 9 million pound player so 7 million seems about right, since the carrol incident when a club is talking about a 5 million pound offer then liverpool then get linked at 15 million

I'm just saying at those prices I would love the players at the club, they are definitely fair prices not on over ridiculous wages and would significantly strengthen our squad.

ShaneK Lfc

And Bas Dost to Wolfsburg for just £8m (Official)!
Braila

02 Jun 2012 08:25:24
I reckon that Muniain would be a perfect fit for liverpool and BR. Because he is young, hard worker (good for high pressure) small and mobile, versatile,skill and a good passer of the ball. agree?

Ladders

Munain can be next Gerrard. fast like to involve the match until end.

Yer but hes is also high priced and has intrest from clubs who most likely will splash the cash

Totally agree, Muniain appears to be perfect for Brendan Rodgers' system, which is all about passing options, with essentially no fixed formation. Muniain has the ability to find space anywhere between midfield and striker, and i have also seen him covering back into a dm area.

Young, talented and fantastic passer and movement, expensive yes, but definately worth it.

Agree 100%! Very similar to Scott Sinclair in style of play, just a better version of really!

Im sure atletic bilbao rejected 30 million from barca for the lad, so thats a major no, if your talking 40 million for a player whos only had one decent year in spain then its a no, i think he will be like martinez and llorente to be honest anyway, just not want to leave them

I like the part where you said small and mobile

If fsg are serious about taking us back
to the top the MUNIAIN is the calibre
we need he may cost a bit but QUALITY
does.......

This is not about any players but about a possible ground move....I have very good info that a meeting has been booked between representatives from LFC and Peel holdings next wed...peel holdings own all the land around the airport and other land around Liverpool.....food for thought

Wont happen, majority of land around there(that is available) is green belt/residential land and the rest is the mersey! So unless we're planning on building an underwater stadium I dont see that happening.

What about a floating stadium?

I work for the airport an it was all sold last year to a Canadian company who have registered the company as peel airports ltd the land surrounding the airport will be developed for the airport in time an will. It be considered for new ground

Third post i think in a couple of years but ive heard we are looking at courtinho {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through last summer. He had a few starts early in the season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they would want to sell - hence the loan to Espanyol. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. I suspect he will stay with Inter this summer.}

Rodgers has begun the search for possible additions to his Liverpool squad and has earmarked a move for Belgian international Marouane Fellaini who the former Swansea City boss may feel could be purchased in light of Everton's protracted financial woes. The former Standard Liege man has been linked with a Goodison Park exit this summer after a solid season in the Toffees midfield last term.

Fellaini is so calm but said he loves everton

Everton paid 15 mill for him so would cost alot more

Dream on :)

Tree Blue

I don't see why we need him.

Lucas is better at holding the ball up and winning the ball back, without the nasty nonsense side of poor discipline, interfering or creeping into his game.

We do need back up for Lucas, but Fellani isn't the one. He'd be very over priced. He's at Everton and quite frankly we can do better than that.

I'd like to see Rodgers pick up a young relatively unheard of player from either the lower leagues or from maybe around Europe and develop them. Or even maybe from the Liverpool reserves/youth team.

I'm aware Chelsea and Man City holding an interest at one point or another, over the last two seasons in Fellani, but i hope we don't bother and use our resources, time and efforts in realising better players for better value than Fellani.

Although i'd like the boy to stay at Everton, as i would like Leighton Baines to stay at Everton as well. Liverpool the City used to be on top of English football, now we are both fluctuating top half somewhere, it needs to improve, the City of Liverpool needs two great football teams and a mediocre Everton as well. :)

Ed, can I know what happen to jesus navaz gossips all? No one seems to asking about him like before... Any injuries or transfers?coz I really wanted him to be in liverpool squad last time aND EVEN NOW?

Fazzy {Ed002's Note - Navas will not be joining Liverpool. He has had his well documented issues and they would keep English clubs away.}

Doesnt jesus navas even struggle just playing away games for sevilla? he literally cant leave the city of seville without having a breakdown and just walking out n going home?

Oh thats a big pity of him..I Just checked wikipedia.

Is Navas not in Spain's Euro squad? Does any of the Ed's know if his situation has changed?

ShottskiLFC. {Ed001's Note - he has had treatment, he can now manage away games and limited trips away from home. But that is all.}

Whats the latest on Gylfi Sigurdsson? {Ed002's Note - Just speculation.}

Hi EDS Just wondering is it possible that now BR is manager he will look to bring his son Anton to Anfield?
Former Chelsea Youth and currently playing with Brighton {Ed002's Note - I have absolutely no idea.}

He plays with reading u clown

He may bring his goldfish in as new dof though if that makes you happy :)

I am not a clown. Live in Australia do little information is shown about soccer down hear. My mistake but how does that make me a clown? Everyone makes them, especially when given little info.

PS yes to the goldfish.

If BR didn't bring his son to Swansea what makes you think that he will take Anton to Anfield?

@ reply 1

Considering that Anton Rodgers has a squad no. of 44 and made his debut in this season's FA cup for Brighton where are you getting your info that he plays for Reading? Or are you simply, in your ignorance, being premature with your insults to feel good about yourself?

How many times are the ED's going to be asked about Gilfi Sigurdsson? {Ed005's Note - I'd imagine it will be many more mate!}

Nobody likes a brown nose.

Get used to it Rodgers isn't allowed to buy ANY Swansea players

We are hoping Carroll has a great Euros as he will be up for sale. Soldado will be his replacement if all goes to plan. Muniain is looking unlikely, sorry, but we have other top players looking to sign if negotiations continue amicably. Expect some top youth players to come in. Brendan.

Who's your source?
Your nan's goldfish who lives close to melwood?

I hope ur rite about soldado.

Wait sorry are you actually posing as the new manager...

Ha! Nice one, mate.

JCS

Who's your source? Are you mad? This is obviously Brendan Rodgers! Thanks for coming on and giving us your knowledge mate. Be sure to let us know just before you sign someone so we can bet on it!

RuncornRed

So the idea would be; wait for players to start playing well then get rid of them. An interesting strategy that may not work long term.
Prelen

Great site first post. I hope Carroll has a great euros and we keep him. Young and shown when he gets decent service he could be a great player

Gotta say that makes perfect sense. Club spends a fortune on a player only to hope he shines to the level they payed for to sell him....you should really be DOF.

This better not be 'Brendan' Rodgers! Because if it is... I know doubt your managerial skills!

Why would we sell carrol? Still one for the future, just started playing well and if we sell it would prob be a big loss! Plus his price pushed up Torres sale so it was more carrol and Suarez for Torres plus a couple of million! I have no sources on this buy seeing how the Americans operate I cannot see carrol being sold regardless of his euro campaign!

are we still interested in jackson martinez?? defo worth a shot, a very good player too.

I agree he is worth a shot (at a reasonable price), but I highly doubt you've watched him enough to say how good a player he is!

Hi Ed's
Herd a rumer that rogers is in for Jordy Clasie of feyenord?
Do you know much about him? Plz post! {Ed005's Note - Sorry mate I know very little about him. I don't watch much of Feyenord although some quality Dutch League players I would love to see at LFC.}

I know this player...they call him the new xavi i think...makes sense...he would fit perfectly with the style of football rodgers plays!
would love to have him

Havent seen much of him but he looks like he has some talent. a great passer of the ball

The Dutch league is full of talent at the moment, and at low prices! Go and exploit BR!
