Ben arfa to join Liverpool for 7.5mil and Coates going other way on loan til end of season .... You heard here first

Ste picko

Sorry, there must be something wrong with my computer as I managed to see the post but couldn't hear it!
DM2013

Would love this, cant see it happening tho to be honest :(

I can't see Newcastle letting go both Ben artha and Ba in the same window
Paul the red

Newcastle need ben arfa more than they need a central defender. They will go for some one from france, likely sakho , or lugano

Really would love it to be true but can't see it in afraid.

I really hope this happen, this guy can replace gerrard

More chance of signing king arfa

Why? We would be lucky to get 15 games a season out of him!! He has a couple of good games then he is injured, yet again.
We need one or two more direct players, I see what BR is trying to get to, but at the moment only Luis has some directness and it shows, Two defenders on him from a quality team and he will be lucky to get a couple of chances on goal

Hi edds02

Just wondering is there any chance of Liverpool signing the Lyon striker gomis because he looks quite classy

Cheers Razza {Ed002's Note - Bafetimbi Gomis scored three goals in a game a few weeks ago when we understand Liverpool had scouts at the game - but it was supposition that they were there to see any particular player. Chelsea had someone attend a game before Christmas to look specifically at Gomis and have enquired as to whether he will be playing in the forthcoming cup match or not. I don't know if any bids have been made but Lyon are seeking to raise some funds.}

Sniejder hasn't played for Inter for over 3 months now because of on going conflict between him and the manager and apparently BR is in for him ? £10 is the asking price?!?!?

A tenner sounds good to me!!

Ten pounds? Bargain!

Couldn't agree more. We are now 7 points off fourth place and still a long way to go.

We have just signed Sturridge and have Borinin back in mid January. If the owners would like to get us back with the elite sooner rather than later, then there is no better time.

Sneijder is currently available for a meagre 10 million. True he's 28 and probably doesn't have any sell on value, but not all our player can be for the future. We need some top quality added to the team now.

Admittedly the wages could be an issue but if you don't try you don't find out. We Re still an attractive proposition to most players throughout world football.

After a topsey turvey first half to the season a world class acquisition would be a huge benefit to the team.

Jonesred

I will personally front the 10 pound transefer fee on behalf of the club.....just the wages the club need to negotiate!!

Old, injured, slow, moody, struggles to defend. Not needed in attack cam, no reason for a transfer

Don't think van Persie has a good sell on fee but what he's doing for united is priceless, at the end of the day it's about success not sell on fees so buy him and alonso mr Henry, starring to think your another hicks/Gillette

My wife just said she seem david villa she swears.

Wash her mouth out with soap then

Is ur wife in Barcelona?

Ryanwhittington

, nice one!

03 Jan 2013 01:07:39
you spanish then

In ur bed hehe

Your wife enough said.

Take no notice mate. My missus was stood right next to Andy Carroll in Steven Gerrard's gaff The Gallery in Formby about 6 months ago and she said "my God, the new bouncer in there is as ugly as a bulldog licking p1ss off nettles."

02 Jan 2013 20:25:50
Could releasing Joe Cole and terminating the Sahin deal, be to free up funds for a Sneijder offer?

As we know there has been reports but we don't know if they are true of a package being offered.

If not Sneijder could the club have someone else in mind. I know that Cole departing was a priority due to his wages and the Sahin being released could purely be down to form etc.

As yet I've heard of no offers from any other club including united who apparently have a keen interest in him.

Jonesred

It's to release funds for Villa.....

Or to get rid of average players earning big money

02 Jan 2013 20:10:41
I have just seen some one like D.villa in a BMW and I waved at him

So you waved at a random guy?!

FowlerGod.

How did this make it to the rumor page seriously?

Did he wave back? ;-)

5uarezTimes

02 Jan 2013 20:50:35
I have just seen elvis checking in at the Adhelpi!

Did he wave back?

There's a lot of these random Villa sightings tonight.

02 Jan 2013 22:16:00
Love this...one of the reasons I come on this site

I so want to believe that these villa sightings are true.

3 or 4 Villa sightings tonight...either there's a load of Manchester United fans trying to be funny, there's a David Villa lookalike doing the rounds in Liverpool, ORRRR he's actually in Liverpool. God I hope with all my heart it's that one {Ed019's Note -It's probably the same guy or group trying to make a fool of us all.}

Do you live in spain?

Wonder if there's any shred of truth to these Villa sightings or if its just the same few windup merchants and loons posting over and over again.....

Elvis has left the Adelphi.....wait for it.....with David Villa! They walked past holding hands, said something about going to catch a show at the Olympia.

03 Jan 2013 00:36:56
where at all is villa right now?

02 Jan 2013 20:08:29
David Villa to Liverpool- Unlikely
Sneider to Liverpool- Unlikely
Kaka to Liverpool- Unlikely

Heard something about Zaha joining Liverpool, also Xabi Alonso... Any Truth?

I heard something...
Zaha unlikely
Alonso unlikely

Unlikely

5uarezTimes

Alonso is a possibility as he has said that he would like to end his playing career at liverpool but zaha is unlikely and also david villa has supposedly been spotted by a number of people at liverpool airport

02 Jan 2013 20:01:30
liver pool are going to sign luciano bechio for 5 mil from leeds united
dreggs

Worth no where near that amount

What a plonker you are - this is not going to happen!

Couldnt we buy the whole of leeds utd with 5m?

02 Jan 2013 19:42:12
Hi Eds
Can you shed any light on the Figures involved to get Sturridge to liverpool?

Some sites are saying its undisclosed whereas sky, who always need to pluck a figure from somewhere, are saying 12 mill.

Can you give the actual figures?

Irishkopite {Ed002's Note - I would rather not go in to detailed figures, but iot is a little over the Sky figure.}

Wow really?
I didn't think we would pay that much for him. Im not slating Sturridge but it seems like another case of us paying over the odds for another english player.

I had guessed the figure would be less than that possibly rising above 12 with add ons depending on performance etc and also maybe factoring in agent fees and whatever other costs go with transfers.

Irishkopite {Ed023's Note - Why not just concentrate on supporting the players and management and let the owners worry about money}

I got told 19, but would think that would include all the fees

02 Jan 2013 19:42:01
I've had that Bacary Sagna is on his way to Liverpool. The fee is meant to be Coates + 9m, do you think this is a good deal?

U stupid, he is 30 next month and not worth 17 mil( we bought coates for 8) plus the 9 ur saying
fool, u for real?
ali g

Ha ha this is hilarious

Haha comedy gold! Sagna is pony....

Is a BAD deal! Luckily it will never happen.

The Plank {Ed019's Note -

02 Jan 2013 19:40:26
I've been hearing from my usual rumour pool (who're usually bang on, as they were with Sahin ironically) that Josip Iličić from Palermo is being lined up to be brought in should the Sahin loan be terminated.

The Inter interest in Sahin is genuine, so it could possibly be at all parties best interests should Liverpool end the loan. Shame.

I personally would take the deal. Although, I am a fan of Nuri, I believe Iličić would suit the play to the ground, and could even eventually take Stevies place in the line-up. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Brendan brought him in.

Eyes peeled on the window and the site, Eds. Here's to a Happy 2013, but primarily a successful month to build on from now!

The Redfella
YNWA

Who're?

W.T.F

Is your "rumour pool" the daily mail by any chance? Almost a copy and paste version of their article they had about Sahin's loan being terminated and Ilicic being targeted.

My Mate is flying from John Lennon Airport tonight and claims he's seen David Villa?

My mate is flying from Birmingham airport and claims he's seen Aston Villa!

He would want to take something for his eyes, Maybe a test would be a good start!

Not this again, I remember someone saying the exact same thing in the summer and I got my hopes up for nothing.

My mate, marmite - other toast spreads are available!

Some one all ready seen him before leaving from the exact same place as you have just mentioned that was about 3 hours ago ,

Ahh, the transfer window. How I've missed you.....

He's like Santa......everywhere at once!

02 Jan 2013 21:47:30
yes, that means he is joining Everton? :>

I saw something wierd in the sky the other day, doesn't mean it's aliens.

Now if your mates telling the truth he probably saw someone who resembled Villa.

But it's all BS i'm guessing.

Please stop

02 Jan 2013 19:19:11
I remember on deadline day when a website interviewed Spearing, he said he was on loan for 6 months, but Bolton would have the option to extend it to the end of the season. Do any of you Eds know if they will take up this option, or even make it a permanent move.

Jay seems like a really top lad but just hasn't got the quality we need going forward.

CSE9 {Ed001's Note - I don't know what is happening, it would have been extended with Coyle in charge, not sure now.}

It has been extended

02 Jan 2013 19:13:21
Daniel Sturridge, David Villa, Thomas Ince and Jack Butland will join in Jan
Stewart Downing, Joe Cole, Dani Pacheo and Doni will leave
Alonso will join in the summer
Y.N.W.A

Downing won't leave in jan, he has been in a it of form lately and will be at kept until at least the end of season

02 Jan 2013 22:33:27
Doni he's done more transfer windows, then David Villa.

Markolfc

02 Jan 2013 19:12:00
Got some news , Liverpool have enqiured for Sneijder as well as Tottenham and chelsea. but i dnt think that this will happen as all three clubs are worried about his wages. Also Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has ruled out selling winger Arda Turan in the January transfer window, after the Turk was linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Chelsea worried about wages?

02 Jan 2013 19:11:39
Talks have been going on recently with both clubs sworn to secrecy for the transfer this month of Hooper to Liverpool

If they are sworn to secrecy how do you know? person!

Because I have a contact at Celtic (who I spent the day with at the races today) who hinted at it to me with a nudge and a wink tool

So your contact is an unreliable grass? Sworn to secrecy but he still squeals!

The Plank

At the races? clearly isnt a contact at celtic. will be a bloke from rangers winding you up, please say you didnt get excited at the prospect?

The Plank
If anybody does get any information from inside a club (I'm not suggesting this info is necessarily correct) won't that mean their source will be a grass? How else do you think stuff gets out? I'm sure nobody who ever leaks information is actually supposed to be doing it.

Chris in Tamworth

Chris, I( tend to go with The Plank's view on this - obviously true inside info tend to be revealed by people who shouldn't, but the nudge wink stuff at the races? Pure unadulterated BS 99.9% of the time.

02 Jan 2013 19:07:32
just seen luka modric goin in the main stand

He is exactly who we need to play behind Suarez, would be a great signing, doubt it very much though :-(

Hopefully he enjoys the game. Shanio1

Don't even joke about stuff like that. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Now I'm gonna have trouble sleeping.

That was robbie savage same hair doo

02 Jan 2013 18:47:09
does any1 know how long sturridge's contract is?(sorry if i spelt his name wrong) {Ed002's Note - Five and a half years I am told.}

I'll be honest, but not sure why contract length means anything these days. Far as I can tell, the only thing it serves is to hang a ball and chain around the signing teams' neck if the player busts (hi Joe Cole!). Other than that, players and teams have no regard for contracts.

02 Jan 2013 18:44:14
Hi eds
Just wondering whats the situation with Andy Carroll?
Thanks B {Ed002's Note - He is on a year long loan at West Ham.}

02 Jan 2013 18:43:52
Lot of reports that Cole is currently having a medical at West Ham.

Although to be fair, these reports are on twitter (respected accounts but still twitter) so he could equally be having a chinese in Blackpool.

Well I've just walked my dog round Blackpool mate and I didn't see him :).

Reusch

He's defo in talks with West Ham at the mo...

He has a medical tomorrow according to a mate down there.

02 Jan 2013 18:42:28

02 Jan 2013 18:26:41
Eds is there any interest in Zarate ?

Lazio have said they want £5m seems pretty reasonable given his age and ability.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Certainly a number of clubs have looked at Zarate in the past including Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs, Arsenal, Rubin Kazam, Spartak Moscow, Lille and Malaga. Certainly Lazio would like to be rid of the player would be willing to sell as he has neither settled nor performed well since his arrival. Given his less than good recent form he strikes me as an odd choice if there is current interest from Liverpool.}

02 Jan 2013 18:20:12
Hi eds, do you think Liverpool will look to bring in another striker, maybe on loan (Gameiro?) because Sturridge can't play in the Europa League this year? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool will not buy or loan a player solely for the EL.}

02 Jan 2013 18:17:09
Just picked me brother up from liverpool airport and seen that David villa has just just landed getting into a car

Bugger and not even a "remember my name" or a "you heard it here first" at the end of the rumour.

The Plank

Maybe he's come to Liverpool for the sales! Post again if you see him in John Lewis....

That's funny cos I just saw him at Manchester airport?! He was with Torres who was wearing a liverpool shirt!
Syd.

Ive just seen him order fish and chips outside the ground too, at least I think it was him but he was heavily disguised in a santa claus costume selling the big issue.....hope its true ?

This post is 100% true hes just arrived at melwood

Same mate this was bout 1 hour ago at least now though

Class player but you sure your not on mushrooms

Not a chance mate must b a lookalike

Amazing how you can whip your phone out quick enough to write here but not take a picture? Hmm still got a 3310?

The taxi driver will post any minute that he's got him in the back of his cab

No planes today from Spain, they are on strike !!Nearly19

Was he on the same plane as Wesley Sneijder?

Flight from madrid arrived at 18.03 so your wrong there are flights.

Was'nt he seen at John Lennon airport back in August too? LMAO

I agree with this completely not long ago seen him passing alder hay on his way to mellwood

Apparently Villa didnt get a taxi he got a lift from Ken Aguero as Liverpool prepare a double swoop...

He's just jumped off the babel copter

This is true I was on the same plane with him

Omg not even messing my uncle siad there was someone famous coming in from John Lennon airport and thinks he was a football player, could it be ?

He arrived via private jet 18.06.
i work at jla, just finised my shift

This is no lie my sister works in wh -smith and she said she seen someone arriving from Spain who was really famous

You piece of tapas... That was me with me paella!

03 Jan 2013 07:38:04

And I heard he rode into Melwood on a horse ..... oh wait! .... that could've been Pancho Villa ... sorry!

02 Jan 2013 18:14:45
Eds, Happy new year guys! I was just wondering whether we have any interest in Michu? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware, and at the price Swansea are quoting another club who enquired he would not be affordable either.}

Affordable... arghhh i hate how smal weve became liverpool never used to be priced out of a player from swansea arghhhhh....
remember we still spent 15m on borini 22m on suarez 35m on carrol i wouldnt say we couldnt afford more of "owners not willing to spend whats needed"

Hi ed... What club enquired and how much we're they quoted ed?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid enquired - I would like to avoid discussing the amount involved.}

02 Jan 2013 18:03:39
Hi Ed's
Can sturridge play in the europa league? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Its alright, we'll have borini back, and hopefully ince too!

02 Jan 2013 18:13:31
I thought that the new UEFA rules were that you could register one player who has been involved in continental football already that season, but only one. Not sure if the other team can be in the same competition at that point though. {Ed002's Note - That is correct - but not if the club he played for is in the same competition.}

I thought that he can if he has only played in the Champions League ed? can u fill me in as to why he cant ed? i really dont know, or is it that my initial thought was wrong?

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - He has played for Chelsea who are in the same competition.}

XI Player Eligibility
Article 18
General provisions

18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA
Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for
more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however,
a player who has been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the
play-offs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled
to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another
club as from the group stage. Moreover, as from the start of the round of 32, a
player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs 18.18 to 18.21 below.
A substitute player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club
competing in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the
course of the same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA
administration in accordance with the present regulations.

When is Ed002 ever wrong people.

Y can't he??? He has not played on it yet

02 Jan 2013 17:53:58
Hi Eds, any interest in Ricky Centurion?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

100 clubs interested most notably Roma.
robbie

And the galacticas at RM....

02 Jan 2013 17:53:06
Now the Daniel Sturridge deal is done, I expect Tom Ince and Jack Butland to come in during the next 10 days for fees of £5 Million and £7 Million. Also the rumours of Nuri Sahin being unsettled are true, Rodgers is not happy with his performences and training either. Expect him to go back to Madrid or bids may come in from Dortmund and a few teams from Turkey. If this was to happen expect a nominal fee being agreed for the transfer of German under 21 captin Lewis Holtby for around £3-5 Million. Players bring offered around are Doni, Gulasci, Wilson, Spearing, Cole and Pacheco, I expect Stewart Downing to stay this window to add to our squad depth.

DJS
Y.N.W.A

That would be a realistic and ideal window for me!

LFC Eric

Why are Gulasci and Wilson being offered, both have potential in my opinion

With the pending arrival of Jack Butland, Peter Gulasci is surplus and Danny Wilson wants to start playing regularly in the first team

02 Jan 2013 17:02:50
Hey Eds, do you know of any interest in schennikov from CSKA? Heard BR is looking at new left backs for the summer.

Many Thanks
Amz {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off right now.}

02 Jan 2013 17:33:10
is it true the ince deal has stalled and fallen through or do you see it as just a normal sign of negotiations. in other words do you still expect ince to sign {Ed002's Note - Liverpool maintain an interest.}

Eds can you confirm or not that Ince is apparently out of contract in the summer ? {Ed002's Note - I recall that he is.}

02 Jan 2013 17:12:14
Rodgers expects David Villa to sign and take the no.9 shirt in the next week.

Would love this to be true as Pepe is very good friends with him, i cant see it happening tho :(

Villas the man i heard this too..What a week yippee

Wakey wakey .we kick off 2013 in 2 hours .

I doubt it we ain't gonna pay £10m or £16m for someone that is 31yrs old and has never wanted to play outside his native Spain yet alone his astronomically wages, it will be someone unexpected if we are to bring in a new No.9

I hit the unbelievable key as much as i would like to see it happen i just cant see it.

My guess is that you saw an earlier post about the vacant number 9 shirt, and having read all the David Villa rumours, then put two and two together to make this load of bs. As much as I would love it to be true, it's just not going to happen.

I heard about a deal for Villa 9 days ago and do believe he will be on his way to relaunch his career and to help LFC through a 2 year transition fingers crossed

02 Jan 2013 16:30:03
Hi eds,

Did sturridge have a contract 'till summer '13 or summer '14? If it was until 2014, it was a good deal.

cheers,
PistolPiet {Ed002's Note - 2014.}

02 Jan 2013 16:19:20
has any1 heard about hoarau moving 2 liverpool as he is holding talks with an unnamed club in the prem and the rumour is that club is either us or everton, does any1 know about this?

Would give us a different option up front but have not seen enough of him to really make judgement

Ed002 did mention that we had enquired about him.

dmedly

02 Jan 2013 16:09:28
Hello to all the eds! happy new year guys!
You have been spot on for the the last year i have been using this website. Sturridge you had nailed on for weeks. However it seems as though Liverpool throw in the odd surprise such as the villa enquiry which the eds dint foresee. I know there is truck loads of bs around transfer window time but....if the villa enquiry was made it would suggest that Liverpool are looking for an old head with proven quality. Maybe a big name is not out of the question? I ll keep me fingers crossed along with the rest of the redmen because we do need a player of proven class such as a villa or a snieder etc

cheers tim

02 Jan 2013 16:07:48
Hello Ed002
I see you believe Liverpool will go for Ince and somebody on loan, as well as Sturridge who signed earlier today.... Who do you think the player on loan will be? You have named Jeffren, but who else is possible on loan?
Cheers, Wez {Ed002's Note - Sorry, but I could only speculate.}

02 Jan 2013 15:58:08
Hi eds, if Liverpool do sign a player on loan, what kind of player will it be? striker, winger etc....

Thanks, BenDutton {Ed002's Note - As a guide, an enquiry was made for Jeffren.}

We made an equiery for modibo diakate aswell acorrding to the italien press

02 Jan 2013 15:49:37
eds couple qs how come sturridge hasnt took number nine shirt we leaving that for someone else?
also wats the situation with sahinis it the club who want him gone or does shain want to go? nice to see sturridge in early hope fully he can be a boost to everyone and have afeeling he will score on debut and be loved straight away

grego {Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of the shirts. The issue about Sahin was answered earlier.}

02 Jan 2013 16:19:01
Caroll has the No. 9 shirt for the entire season, eventhough he's on loan. Maybe when he's sold in the summer, Studge can have the number.

Andy Carroll has the number 9 squad number.

02 Jan 2013 15:43:33
ED whats this about us signing Sturridge for 12mil (confirmed now) and Chelsea signing Ba almost imediately after for 7.5mil?? Any truth? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has not signed Ba but it seems there will be talks.}

Even if they do sign ba, is he not like 28?

i think we have made a good signing, yes he can be greedy but that will soon be kicked out of him from suarez. he has a great player to learn off.

With every respect the OP is simply stirring trouble where none exists! If Chelsea buy Ba it'll be as a squad player and not a main outlet.

So you are saying we should have tried to get him for 7.5 million but release clause was only triggered if the club making the bid was in the champions league

According to football 365 with all the fees involved for ba Chelsea will be looking at roughly the same price. Also been reading that Sturridge took a 20k aweek pay cut from 80-60p/w if true that shows commitment. Ed a long shot hut do u know if that's true.

Cheers,
Quigz23 {Ed052's Note - what I do know is that Ba will cost so much more than DS}

02 Jan 2013 15:35:11
Just a quick question to ED 2. Put your neck then line please and tell me who u think liverpool will sign in jan. great site {Ed002's Note - I have said repeatedly who I expect to sign - Sturridge, Ince and someone on loan.}

02 Jan 2013 15:33:45
Was just thinking a while ago there was speculation about young Brazilian Bernard. Could the eds confirm or deny any interest from lfc and if it's still a current interAtletico Mineiro's Bernard rejected opportunities to join Zenit and Qatar in the summer but there was a lingering thought that he may move on this January. Inter and Liverpool both had Bernard watched last summer with Inter going as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard, but again that was refused. However, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow, Terek Grozny and Shakhtar Donetsk have recently approached Atletico Mineiro and whilst a 12M euro offer from Terek was rejected, it looks like a deal could be still be done and perhaps AC Milan will put together a package including a player as part of the deal. Whilst he is certainly attracting interest from several sides and a very good offer could tempt them to sell, I suspect Atletico Mineiro and Bernard would prefer to hold off on any move for, say, another year. Chelsea has been keeping a close eye on his progress as have Manchester City. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012.} est or something which has passed? {Ed002's Note -

02 Jan 2013 16:00:19
Sorry I clicked unbelievable instead of reply! I don't know who he is, but all I will say, is I really want someone called Bernard to sign for us! Ha!

02 Jan 2013 15:08:28
Offic LFC site. Sturridge signed

Is this good news or bad news

This guys has been bombed out of every club he has ever been at and he is on his way to having more clubs than Nick Faldo! Bad attitude and apart from a spell at Bolton he has done nothing in his career!!!

Its good news give the lad a chance b4 you judge him

Lets get behind the lads n why dus everyone have to be so negative ... Armchair fans

All the people that bad mouth him will be straight up his rear end if he starts scoring. Fickle doomsayers.

02 Jan 2013 15:05:57
Hi eds and reds!

Any chance of Rodrigo?thanks

Aneesh {Ed002's Note - Juventus and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Rodrigo but for now anything else is speculation.}

02 Jan 2013 15:03:11
Its official sturridge has signed!!

JD

Yep just seen it on a web site now to see if he hit the ground running fingers crossed for a barn storming 2nd half of season (which we do have a history of doing). 4th spot would be massive.

Ha can you honestly believe some people have clicked disagree haha when it all over the internet ha

Gotta laugh gonna be a funny old january

He's rubbish and greedy and I would have much rather have signed Ba for half the price. What is BR thinking signing a wannabe with a chip on his shoulder who thinks he's better than he is. Not happy

OFFICIAL: West Ham have also enquired.

Noooooooooooo i don't believe you, are you serious ???

LOL

Far more believable than yesterday's claimed rumour that they were buying David Villa.

The Plank

Not sure why clubs feel the need to "enquire about his availability". The guys had a for sale, loan or free sign on his back for years.

I bet he goes to west ham, as i'm sure he would love to end his career there.

So have west ham

Marek Hamsik Eds? If we're finally being ambitious and are looking for a top-class, proven CAM who'll ultimately replace Gerrard... then there can be few better options than Hamsik. Napoli aren't in CL, we will be offloading Cole (and Sahin maybe) we can easily do this.

Come on FSG & Brendan make a statement of intent!

Gogol {Ed002's Note - Again no known interest from Liverpool.}

FSG made a statement in the summer by not being able to afford Dempsey....enough said by them IMO.

I have a feeling we will make one great signing that will shock everyone. Everything is beeing played down at the moment but expect a young 20mil plus potential superstar to be signed after Sturridge and Ince... have faith!

Top choice mate.

real quality player, great going forward and got that sparkle we're looking for.

sign him up Brendan!

Rather have inler think we lack height strength and drive everything toure gives the city midfield mayhem 1981

Add to inler erikson lorente and ter stegan push for the title a possibility mayhem 1981

No he is trouble. Seen his hair??

Mayhem 1981 - Liverpool won't win the title for another 10 years

Hamsik would be brilliant. Genuinely think he is in a class of his own.

QPR & West Ham are both interested in taking Joe Cole, his wages would be the major issue in any deal

If i were to put my neck on the line i would say that West Ham are most likely to sign him

LFC93

West Ham don't have the finances but QPR do.

I would think West Ham will ask LFC to pay a substantial amount of money towards his wages whereas QPR could probably afford his wages if given a free transfer. However if it is a free transfer then LFC would be paying Joe Cole around £3m to leave.

HI EDS , was just wondering if any of you have herd about Dani Pacheco going to villa on a loan with permanent view to sign. i know he had a stink with Lambert at Norwich , and as Darren bent is likely to leave there may be some truth in it. {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I can't help.}

I would imagine this is a load of bs - you hit the nail on the head there with he had a "stink" rather than stint with Lambert at Norwich, as I would recall he didn't live up to reputation there and didn't impress so I'd say there's a better chance of Bent getting back into the team and them loaning Benteke to us....not happening

gamiero will not be leaving psg this transfer window he will leave psg in the summer as he feels he has something to prove at psg and is hopeful he can do that in 2nd half of the season

True, PSG is his favoured club and he wants to prove to Ancelotti that he should be starting games. If thats the case, drop the interest who wants a player who doesnt really want the move anyway!

any interest in gunodan from dortmund?
also update on ince deal? will he be loaned back to blackpool if he came?
bhav {Ed002's Note - There would be no point in loaning Ince back to Blackpool. Gundogan will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

Hello Eds,
any news on Ince deal ?
heard it is proving to be difficult as Blackpool are holding out for 8 mil. Do you expect it to go through ?
also any further developments regarding Butland ? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

Why buy Ince and then loan him back? That wouldnt make sense spending £4m on a player who can make a difference to our first team.

Big jeff here just a qwiky to ed 2 do u think sahin will go to inter and snidejr will come to us with joe cole goin sahin goin £200000 wood be free and with gerrard sayin on a web site the very good exitin times are come in to Liverpool agen dose he mean that don't no my sell but just fort I'd ask sorry for spelling lol

Big jeff {Ed002's Note - If I have to put my head on the line and if Sahin leaves I would think a loan to Dortmund prior to a summer transfer there would be my guess. I really don't see anything in respect of Sneijder to Liverpool - sorry.}

02 Jan 2013 13:03:40
Ed, Just a question really. I know you have covered the Theo Walcott debate a fair bit and I wondered if anyone has heard any whisperings of him wanting out. It seems to me that he clearly wants to be playing in a certain role as well as receiving a certain wage. It was also hinted at by Ian Rush and John Aldridge recently that he would be the certain player they would like to see us go for in addition to Sturridge. I personally think that a front 3 of Suarez, Sturridge and Walcott would be pretty good.

So the question is this, firstly does the interest still remain and if so is it likely that if it does will we wait until Summer to get him for free should he decline a new contract (again) or are you optomistic we might make an effort to sign him in January?

GouldyTrueRed {Ed002's Note - From my perspective I still think that a new deal could be agreed at Arsenal and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool or Chelsea would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him before the end of the season without the club agreeing. Arsenal can easily stonewall a move in January so I don't know if Walcott will even be available for a move then - nor what other options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.}

Imagine that as a line up though. Walcott & Sturridge up top with Suarez given a free role behind.

Scare the hell out of most defenders.

Thanks, Eds, That was kind of what I expected as I don't think anyone knows what is going through Walcott's head at the moment. It would be a nice surprise if he came to us but I see where your're coming from with regards to his options in England

02 Jan 2013 12:55:11
Only slightly Liverpool related, but has Sneijder really agreed terms with Spurs? If so, i'm concerned as to why we didn't persue his signature?

If clubs like City, United and Chelsea were in for him, i'd fully understand that we wouldnt get a look in with what they could offer, however surely we can offer exactly the same as what Spurs could? They may be looking more like getting a CL spot than us, but they haven't won anything in how long? Confused, unless it's all rubbish that is... {Ed002's Note - The Sneijder to Liverpool story comes from an Italian source speculating that Liverpool would be willing to pay Inter 10M euros for Sneijder and the player 240k eruos (a little over £200k) per week to give him 120M euros per week net. This was seemingly added to Twitter by a "journalist" that summarises current rumours on hs Twitter account. I have no confirmation if it is true that Liverpool has approached Inter (or more likely Sneijder's agent) at this time - but suspect that if anything could happen there would need to be very significant movement over his wage demands. The Sneijder to Spurs story comes from a journalist speculating that a sale, not a loan, to Spurs may be possible - but I have no confirmation that it is true at this time. If a move for Moutinho cannot be put together by Spurs - most probably due to financial constraints - an approach to Sneijder does make sense. PSG and Fenerbhace remain two most likely destinations for Sneijder at this time although Schalke 04 have been packaging up an ambitious bid and Bayern Munich has been, I understand, discussing the player in-house. Anzhi and Spartak Moscow retain an interest in him but chances of a move to Russia seem to be near zero. I don't know of any remaining interest from Manchester United. There is a very slim chance that he could make a surprise move somewhere else and discussions have been held with a club on a different continent, but I would supect that is something for the future.}

Liverpool look to offload nearly £200k of weekly wages this month with the termination of Nuri Sahin's loan and Joe Cole looking certain to join QPR on a permanent deal. Stewart Downing will stay until the summer. Liverpool will sign Daniel Sturridge, Tom Ince and are lining up a £16mil deal to bring Kevin-Prince Boateng back to the premiership. January will certainly be an exciting month for Liverpool.

Red Frankie

Not sure what you mean by an exciting month. 12 points and messi to liverpool would be an exciting month

LOL!
Kevin prince Boateng? Interesting choice of a rumour there...

You were doing so well until you brought up boateng!

Liverpool have turned down an Enquiry from Man City for Luis Suarez. He will not be sold at anytime in the near future was the message.
Bob

I assume summer 2013 doesn't count as being 'soon' then?

Gav

Wow imagine that! We have an injured Borini and a just signed Sturridge so we won't be selling Suarez just now.Only a guy with a real inside line to our club would know that. Jesus we've struggled all season for goals so what's the chance of us selling our star striker in this window? Absolutely ZERO!

So would we have a chance of getting any of sissoko Vargas holtby Walcott or llorente if we pushed 4 them {Ed002's Note - Realistically it is difficult to answer these slightly odd what-if questions where there is no current interest in players. I provided a lengthy explanation of the status for each player last night.}

David villa has confirmed he wants to join liverpool but weather liverpool will pay 16m is another question

Where has he confirmed this? on FM13? please back this claim up with a direct link to a quote?

02 Jan 2013 11:34:43
How I would love this to be true, I just can't see it happening sadly :-(

No he hasn't, Lol.

Hard to believe and how has he been doing since his injury?

I was just about to ask the same question. All I read is that Barca rejected our last bid. When did he actually say he wanted to join Liverpool!?

No not FM13

He can't back it up because its not true!

Well we payed plenty for downing and henderson

Given the wage trimming that went on during the summer, plus the talk/rumour of possibly wanting to end Sahin's loan period in order to decrease the wage bill yet again, then I'd be surprised if the owners even rubber stamp the Sturridge deal.

As for Villa, if the player could return to the dizzy heights he was prior to his leg break then he would be a superb purchase - tremendous, but alas, with the owners intent on imposing, and enforcing their in house salary cap, for all and sundry, then there is no chance a player of Villa's wage level will be brought to the club, and that is well before the transfer fee is even mentioned - FSG - Frugal Spending Governs!

We will not pay 16 mil. for a 31y/o who has lost his 1st team place.

Great if he does want to join. He is worth 16m.

I really hope he doesn't. The price and his wages would ruin our budget and leave us with an injury prone old striker. he is past 30 and would be a bad option. we need to look at the future not the second half of this season

All I can say is......... thanks for making me laugh.

An fit and in form David Villa would be a great signing for our club, especially when you look at the relative cost that we have forked out for average players. This rumour is a long shot though!

Your all saying 16m for a 31 old isnt a good deal i think it would be as hes proven at top level for club and country and whos only had 1 serious injury in his carear and compare it to what united payed for van persie if he can have an impact like that he will be worth then16m

NO chance of the club paying £16 million for a 31 going on 32 year old even if he was right back to top form and with the wages he'd expect double no chance. Oh and weather he'd like the whether here is an interesting point.

The Plank

Signing villa would be a great signing u shower of negative arm chair fans

One other potential signing for Liverpool could be Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma, who was released by Besiktas last month. According to Superdeporte, Quaresma has been offered to several clubs, including Liverpool and Valencia.

Eds do you know anything about this, i know you have said previously that you see him back in Portugal but as the artical says he is being offered around, i think for free on a rolling 1 year deal and wages less than £50k he'd be an option. {Ed002's Note - So it does not concern you that his appearances for Besiktas have been such that they released him from his contract? He has been speaking with a French club but I really doubt Liverpool would be interested in taking him.}

This link is from Rafas early days. Again. He tried to get him 3 times. Enough with this recycled carp please.

Let get rid of Cole and replace him with someone much worse, I'd much sooner give a youngster a chance than take up squad space with this looser.

Smudger.

He was rubbish when he was on loan at Chelsea, I would steer well clear!

He was always falling out with Besiktas, and was very often injured. That said, Turkih football is like playing in your pitboots with spikes on the end of them. So it wouldn't surpise me if his injuries came from getting kicked up and down the park. If you put van Persie in Turkey the same would happen to him. As for Torres, he would be constantly on the physio bench.. ;-)

Trick is knowing what injuries he has had and for how long. there is a big difference in crucial ligament problems and bruised ankles for example.

Besides, am not sure as to how often he was absent due to fallouts and how often through injury.

The link may have been from Rafa's early days, but we were never after Quaresma. It was Simao, Benitez even said as much in his biography,

Additionally i was of the assumption that he had had a major row with the manager, nothing to do with his performances - 38 assists and 18 goals in 76 appearences

02 Jan 2013 12:58:07
What happens to the money we paid for Sahin's services? Do we get a rebate? {Ed002's Note - Not if Liverpool wish to cancel the transaction.}

02 Jan 2013 09:23:15
I believe Sahin is looking for a way out, where as Rogers actually wants to keep him for the rest of the season

The interest in Sahin from Inter is real, i believe he will stay untill the end of the season but you never know

LFC93

I have heard this too, from several places.

Would you honestly miss him? he has hardly been a revelation has he? Henderson, Shelvey, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Suso are all ahead of him at the moment

He may want out but given his fitness I'm not sure he could walk to the airport.

If he wants to go then let him. I mean what exactly has he done? Has he made any impact when he's played?

In 12 appearances, Sahin has 3 goals and 3 assists. If he leaves it will be because Rodgers refuses to play him ahead of Allen.

Rodgers wants to keep him because it wont look good if Sahin leaves early. A bit like if he wanted to recall Andy Carroll.

But on the positive, we dont really need Sahin in the team. We have enough quality with a combination of Gerrard, Lucas / Shelvey and Allen / Henderson

What i hope is that Sahin will play tonight so that he would change his mind and Rodgers needs to let him play , hes a very good player but he doesen't get the opportunity

Great Website!

02 Jan 2013 09:10:31
What I think we need is that attacking mid behind Suarez to create more chances as Gerrard is more defensive as he's lost some pace and fitness. Someone who could do the same as people like Cazorla and Mata. Suso isn't quite ready yet but this is why someone like Sneijder or Erikson would be perfect for us however I do understand that both of those are highly unlikely.

We need a striker, someone who is deadly in the 6yard box and can read and bounce off Luis Suarez. Attacking midfielder is not the solution, although we should look at one AS WELL as a striker perhaps

Gerrard can still play the attacking MF role well ( as good as Sneider) but the problem is we need him deeper to fill the hole in front of the cb's .Also we seem to build from the back quicker when he is there.

Gerrard has created more chances the any other player in the premiership this season! Just thought you should know he still has a lot of creativity.

Lost fitness? eh? no he has not! he is as fit as he has been, hardly missed a game this season!

Josip Ilicic, it is.

What Gerrard is the only player to have played every minute of our league games this season

I think this season is the perfect time to get a young lad in and get some experience of Premier League games. It's alright saying we should get Sneijder or Eriksson in but they are unlikely to come if we don't have CL football to offer. Suso could do a job there and he will improve. Even better would be drop Gerrard back alongside Allen and play Lucas further forward. He's a cracking CAM, it's the reason we signed him in the first place.

Gerrard has lost fitness?? - no other midfielder has covered more ground than Gerrard this season, as Rafa would say, Fact. Valid point about a No 10 who can unlock defenses though but lets pay our Captain a it more respect when posting.

Josip Ilicic would be a great signing in that role. I agree with you we need someone like that. I presume Lewis Hotlby is a target for this reason but if he comes to England it will be to either Spurs or Arsenal.

No need for another midfielder its time to strengthen with a striker who can latch onto the loose balls. Suarez makes a keeper work and when he fumbles we need a follow up

02 Jan 2013 08:51:28
hey eds do u expect sturridge to be a liverpool player today and maybe unveiled during/before the sunderland game considering were at home? also Sahin why are we trying to release him early is it maybe to so we can loan in another player along with 1 thats already been mentioned making it 2 loans?

great site keeping us informed!
top notch! {Ed002's Note - The club would like to parade Sturridge tonight - and if the paperwork is completed they shall. Sahin is taking up significant wages and has expressed concerns as we have explained. I am not entirely sure how easy it will be to address during this month nor what the plan is regarding loans. The club can have a couple of players on loan in total, with or without Sahin.}

Sahin must go. I thought Sturridge would have started tonight

02 Jan 2013 07:05:11
Liverpool appear certain to offload Nuri Sahin in January. A report claims the Reds are looking to cancel Sahin's loan period from Real Madrid early, and Brendan Rodgers may therefore be able to use interest from Inter to his advantage. Rodgers, meanwhile, is said to be keen on Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic as an immediate replacement.

Josip Ilicic would be a great alternative to Sahin as he would be available at the right price around £8m-£10m and wages wouldn't be a problem, he is an attack minded player that also has an eye for goal.

Swap a deep lying DM for a CAM seems like good business, don't know why Sahin can't turn it on but Ilicec would be great.

Hi eds, I read below that you mentioned we enquired for a teammate of Gamieros.. who might this be and has anything progressed from the enquiry? Thanks!
YNWA!
JS {Ed002's Note - Liverpool enquired about the availability of Guillaume Hoarau.}

Ed, do you know if they are prepared to let him go? {Ed002's Note - Guillaume Hoarau will be allowed to leave PSG in January rather than let his contract run down until the summer with Everton, Sunderland, Hamburg, Trabzonspor and Monaco showing interest in the striker. Previous interest from Liverpool has, I understand, been rekindled to some extent by a very recent request for information on his availability.}

02 Jan 2013 03:14:00
Eds, is there actual interest from us for Holtby? I'd love for us to wake up and sign this kid but sounds like Spurs/Arsenal? {Ed002's Note - Schalke have confirmed that they have made an offer to Lewis Holtby of a new contract but are aware that there will be interest from clubs wishing to speak to the player in January and getting him to agree a deal might be difficult - as is proving to be the case. Aston Villa has added to the previously known interest from Valencia, Spurs, Everton and Arsenal and unconfirmed rumours suggest that both Manchester United and Liverpool may also look to Holtby. Perhaps the most interesting option that he may have is Inter Milan who most definately has an interest after stepping back from any deal for their first choice midfield player. However, Inter are being advised by Di Frisco that Holtby is perhaps two years from being ready for such a move but in my view it remains a possible destination - although they are looking at Belhanda as well. There might be a chance to tempt him to sign a pre-contract in January.}

I've read on the BBC football website a list of "Top 50 Players who could move" Holtby being one of them. It mentions that 'Liverpool lead a number of clubs' interesting I thought. Holtby has real potential. Surly they can't type that with out solid info or a good enough source? Any thoughts Ed?

hi ed whats going on with pato why dont we go in for him he is not getting a game for milan and would be brilliant up top with suarez {Ed002's Note - Corinthians have offered Milan 15M euros and options on youth players Bubba and Edilson. PSG's interest has likely gone and a further injury might hasten his exit back to his homeland. However, Milan do not want both Robinho and Pato, who both want a return to Brazil, to leave in January unless they can secure replacements.}

Most of his seasons have been injury hit, at 23 that's a worrying concern no? If he came and spent his entire contract on the treatment table you wouldn't be happy.

Hey eds just wondering if any truth in gamiero rumour he looks excellent and I think exactly kinda player we need eg makes great runs behind defenders
If so how much will he cost
Thanks {Ed002's Note - There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player but Everton could only likely fund a loan. A move away from PSG in the summer seems more likely than January.}

Heard rumours of payet, decent winger, any truth? Also there seem to be lots of mentions of aubemeyang on other sites. Any truth in either and which would be more likely? Cheers eds {Ed002's Note - I don not see Payet leaving Lille for Liverpool in January. After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Fiorentina, Manchester City, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I didn't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January but I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration. Such a bid is being pondered by Fiorentina.}

eds is this rumor true arsenal fc have put a £10, 000, 000 bid in for adrian of athletico madrid ? if so is this a sign arsene wenger is defeated in keeping walcott. if so could this mean lfc may get there man ? if not lfc then juventus or another prem club. in my mind i cant help but think walcott would favour a move to lfc {Ed002's Note - It is entirely unrelated to Walcott. I understand that there has been a direct approach from Arsenal to Atletico Madrid about the player but I do not know if that has yet resulted in a firm offer - but it is likely just to be a matter time before one is made. Adrian Lopez is of serious interest to Arsenal and he remains one player that could make the move in January. Spurs showed interest in the player during the summer but their bid was rejected. Whilst Atletico are looking to hang on to Lopez and are looking to have him agree a new contract they are aware that a move away is likely and are actively looking for a replacement - as they are for Falcao who they also expect to move for in the summer.

From my perspective I still think that a new deal could be agreed at Arsenal and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool or Chelsea would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him before the end of the season without the club agreeing. Thanks for the response :) i just thought maybe they were looking for a replacement as i diddnt know arsenal were in the market for another attacker. i just put two and two together and thought maybe they know they cant keep walcott hence the interest in the athletico madrid player.

Walcott is signing new contract with Arsenal today

Eds I was doing a bit of research and found out that there are a lot of good players who will be available on frees in the summer and next January of course everyone knows about Walcott, llorente and holtby but also sissoko, Vargas, Douglas and sulejmani are available on frees in the summer as well as that Honda's contract runs out next January and I was wondering whether one you think that these players are good enough and will benefit the team and whether if they are good enough what are the chances of us trying to get them on pre-contract agreements or cheap this window
Thanks love the site

{Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has previously attracted interest from Milan, Arsenal, Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Damien Comolli went as far as letting Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool saw Sissoko as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard - but for some reason the club failed to make the final push to buy the player. Sissoko remains available (as he has done for two years) and Juventus, Newcastle and Spurs have enquired - with a tentative agreement being reached with Newcastle and Juventus over the price. Juve probably have the edge right now.

Vargas could stay on at Genoa if the make the loan permanent, but a move to the Middle East, Russia or perhaps the MLS beckons if not.

Newcastle, Aston Villa, Juventus, Ruben Kazan and Ajax have all shown interest in Twente's Douglas in the past but it looks like he is en route to Inter in January as defensive cover.

Borussia Moenechengladbach, West Ham, Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, Besiktas, Wolfsburg and Valencia remain interested in Sulejmani who will most likely move in January.

Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. This summer we saw enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo. It seems to be the longest running of the Liverpool (and Arsenal) related "rumours". Honda was close to leaving in the summer with a move to Lazio only failing at the last minute and I understand that Lazio would still be interested at the right price. He has had a bit of a strange season in that he has been scoring goals but his performances have been criticised - which seems to have put off Dortmund who have taken a recent look. If you were to ask if I expect Honda to move to Liverpool in January the answer would be probably not.}

Regarding sneijder

Firstly sneijder has rubbished reports linking him to Liverpool

and if that is not enough although many people are defiantly optimistic that his "200k/pw" wages are not an issue, has it not occured to you that the wages would be potentially even greater due to the differences in tax between italy and England

For all that sneijder's worth, id rather save that extra £10-15m per year and buy it on others

Others such as Sturridge?

Hi folks, sturridge deal done. Josip ilicic will arrive for around £5m, Grameiro will arrive on loan. The best signing will be ilicic! He will be Stevie G's replacement! We have been tracking him since 2010 and nearly got him in August.

You heard it first! {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic but Inter are favourites if he does come up for sale. England seems an unlikely destination although Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the fairly recent past.}

Ilici will cost more than the £5m you mentioned more like £8m - £10m, but i do agree that if he comes in than he will be a great player as he is very good, but also don't rule out Honda coming in as if reports are true that Sahin wants to move back then we will need a replacement.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic but Inter are favourites if he does come up for sale. England seems an unlikely destination although Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the fairly recent past.}

Only believe Sturridge

Hi Eds, On the BBC website there is a list of the top 50 players who could move in this window.
It says that we were twice rejected by James Mccarthy - is this true? is so when and why did he reject us?

JTR {Ed002's Note - I don't recall him rejecting Liverpool - everyone who has enquired has always been scared off by the asking price.}

he rejected a chance to move to us when he was a youth player at hamilton an moved to wigan instead to develop further.
Ayush

Apparently it was when he was in Scotland before Wigan and was a young player breaking through with Hamilton i think.

We were rejected when he was still at Hamilton in Scotland. Turned us down twice when 16yrs old to move to Wigan.

Hello. Been watching Brian Ruiz a bit lately, are there any clubs after him? He's a sore thumb in that Fulham side. Pacey, creative, scores and can take a good free kick. Reminds me a bit of gerrard 10 years back. I read this site day in day out religiously but haven't seen his name mentioned, hence, haven't tried the search function before you 'RTFP' me.

Happy new year all. {Ed002's Note - He has been out injured for a while, but I don't know of any interest and I don't expect a move in January.}

Honda rumour has been blowing around ages now, any chance at all? Also, will Sturridge be announced tomorrow? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Eds,

1)Heard Coates might be go on loan this transfer. Is it true? Why LFC not giving him a lot of chances to play in FA cup/ carling cup? If he's given more play time, I think we already got alternative gud defender other than Skrtel n Agger. Plus we can use him to play against certain team like Stoke, West Brom.

2)With Enrique injured, are we looking to bring new LB?
We are pushing for top 5, and I dont think Downing can play gud there for a long time.

Thanks Eds for bringing us latest update on rumors.

Nicklas. YNWA. {Ed002's Note - Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested.}

Downing will start at left back tonight

hi eds, has chelsea actually agreed a fee for sturridge from liverpool cos ive heard and seen nothing? cheers. {Ed002's Note - Agreement has been reached and you will no doubt hear once the paperwork is processed and the international clearance given.}

Hearing £12million fee, a 4 year deal

M

Ed can you tell me why sturridge would require international clearance to play in the country he hold a passport lol....its ok ill answer that for you he doest you mong {Ed002's Note - I don't understand why you wish to abuse me - particularly given your ignorance of the game. Do you not know how embarrassing it is for the Liverpool fans reading this? Anyway, all players require international clearance to confirm their eligible to play and, in particular to confirm that no other clubs have a claim on them.}

To the 2nd poster, come on man, grow up. sigh, theres no need for abuse. ed002 surely knows more than u do.

Kaizer

International clearance? He is English

That knobhead giving eds abuse is no Liverpool fan
