I don't know Laddie I think it'd suit him down to the ground but what do I know? - Imagine the youngsters having Gerrard there training them. To me it's one of them, Gerrard is without a job, was he waiting knowing this would happen? - might be my mind going into overdrive but I think he was waiting for this and maybe was tipped off about the job coming available. I may well stand corrected of course. I'm nowhere near in the know. Just an opinion.

Maybe if everyone gets promoted and Gerrard takes the bottom job, but Gerrard needs to prove himself as a coach before he gets anywhere near a job as big as the U23s.

He needs to be thrown in at the deep end in my opinion, let him show what he's made of rather than others teaching him their ways.

JCW_XS I really think he, like anybody else, should get a job based on their abilities to do the job. You wouldn't hire someone to drive the school bus if he didn't have a driving license, arguing that he had to show what he was made of rahter than others teaching him their ways. I see no difference.

Yes Hjikle, start SG at younger level and see how it pans out, too much too soon for U/ 23,s which is effectively our reserve side.

Stick him with the under 7s then if that's your thinking, at the end of the day he wants to be a coach, he's thought of very highly at the club and he needs to be close to top level to learn from those already there, not get the stuff that's filtered down through the ranks until it gets to him. I'm not saying first team but not far off. Its not like hiring someone with no licence to drive a school bus, it's like having someone that's driven the very school bus for years teaching someone else to drive it, your saying he should use his wealth of experience to teach someone to ride a push bike until someone says he can move to the next level, we need young English managers and quick, if he's not utilised properly he will be lost in the system.

Hi Eds saw a rumour linking us again with Maxime Lopez from Marseille. Any Substance? and how highly rated is this guy?

Many Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - This is an odd story about Arsenal and Liverpool interest in Maxime Lopez as a kiddie - back to the time of Brendan Rodgers. It circulated in 2013 but it as 2014 when his family took him to Anfield at the invitation of Liverpool. Now 18 or so he is attracting a little interest as he has been playing well. I can assure you that whilst a couple of other clubs have spoken with Marseille about Maxime Lopez in the past, at this time Liverpool has not made an approach but have had someone scout games he has played in. So a possibility going forward.}
