Would love to see a class left back at club....Michel Bastos would be good...any thoughts?***

.......................................................................

michel bastos is a WINGER not a left back, he played there for brazil because dunga had so much attacking talent at his disposal and turned out to be a very POOR defender, robben proved too much of a nightmare for him and he was substituted. great going forward but he's cleary by far better than any winger at liverpool since john barnes.

POOR fullback > CLASS winger

I agree with all the posts stating we should take a deep breath and relax about this situation. I understand it's difficult for us all but we have to! We've been s*** on so many times with supposed takeover talks we should learn from the experience and take everything regarding the bids etc with a pinch of salt until and if anything does materialize and is concrete.

I f****** love this club and would love for it to be true, but hate to see our fans building ourselves up for the fall. Call me a skeptic but that's just how I've learnt to be unfortunately.

Lets just see what happens and not get too carried away on the possible big money transfer rumours until something is concrete and we know all the details, as much as I love hearing them : D haha

All the best Reds fans heads up for the new season and lets hope we can maul any team in our path!

After some research into this Kenny guy. He is only the man FRONTING the bid! The WHOLE of the Chinese government is backing the bid. Think Man city owner x100. I too am slightly worried that we are being brought by the Chinese government but I am hopeful it will work out well for LFC. It has also been reported that they want the deal done in under two weeks to give Roy funds in the transfer market to realistically challenge for the top 4 which we are clearly unable to do at the present time.

First and Foremost - Ed great site.... thankyou.

Secondly, a quick heads up on our current team.
I see a lot of you are doubting our ability to buy / attract big name players.

Keeping Nando and Gerrard and signing Cole makes us a very decent attacking threat. The weakness is the depth.

1)Lucas is simply not good enough for LFC and to be honest, he wouldnt get into any other Top 12 prem midfield.

2)Kuyt is renowned for "his hard work" - but , the truth is, its often just chasing back a misplaced pass or a mistimed shot. Now that hes 30 and h still cant really beat a player for pace or skill, he shouldnt be a regular for LFC.

We have raised 10 mill already, and Masch will fetch at least 25mil. So why are bids for Aguero/ Defour/Turan unrealistic??

Chinese will come in- you will remem Rafas comment about Torres being a massive commercial asset "Asian women are crazy for him"- Its been on cards for months but they needed to pass some impt deadlines to do with the takeover and debt.

We will sign 1 big player and then Broughton and Purslow out. These Chinese are smart not shrewd businessmen and profile is everything to them.

Expect just the one big signing- a record transfer acquisition to prove the Chinese commitment followed by focus on the new stadium

just like to remind some of you that uefa law on 3 clubs that state you cannot play for 3 clubs in the space of a year. so any transfers for maxi rodriguez are false. if he left it would have to be on loan until january, then he can move.

From FT.com

The Kuwait-based Al-Kharafi family, headed by the industrialist patriarch Nasser Al-Kharafi, is more familiar with the Liverpool saga. A former student in Liverpool, Mr Kharafi previously tried and failed to buy the club in 2008 and again last year. He owns Al-Kharafi & Sons, a diversified conglomerate.

Listed as the 29th richest man in the world - based on the current climate and need to get back to the pinnacle quickly this man and family would seem more what Liverpool need. No doubt cracking Asia would be huge but Liverpool is already massive in Malaysia, Singapore etc...

Would need to have had something sooner to have positive effect - main hope is they do not ditch Roy and do not go down the Man City route - we have some special young players more than able to do it in the EPL

Hope this Chinese guy can take us to the next level and start to challenge for the title by getting a few more quality players to go with torres gerrard and my favourite player agger :P

Agger is my faveroute, can everyone whos faveroute player cluck believable on this to see how many people do rate him?
And also, surely wayne bridge is the real solution to the left back problem. also he will be cheap so why not go for him??
and for the second striker although i would love to have aguero at the club i doubt we will sign him, he would cost too much, so we need to expect somebody much cheaper and probably less effective. Crouch would be ideal for that role though!

02 Aug 2010 22:55:23
According to the Click Liverpool news story on the Chinese takeover bid, Mr. Huang has met with Torres to talk about the future of the club. Is that even allowed? Not that I will care if the takeover comes soon. I just hope this new owner will be able to keep his promises. The stadium is key. Investment in the current squad cannot hurt, but if we ever want to be a self sufficient club and operate in the green, we need a set up like the gooners have.

Not so much of a rumour but am I right in thinking that this Chinese guy is buying the debt then he and his investors are going to want a return on their money at some stage. This all sounds a bit risky to me. What we need is a rich benefactor who is doing it for the love of the game and the club. It all sounds very similar to the GH takeover and all their broken promises to moores and parry. Lfc til I die.

02 Aug 2010 22:22:52
hi ed
first time on this site (good call giving us our own site) do you think to many players coming in all at once will be to much of a disruption to the squad and give us a slow start to the season leaving us with a hard catchup.

02 Aug 2010 22:21:07
Congratulations on the Liverpool site.

Things are certainly hotting up regarding the take-over. With "it is understood that as many as six bids were submitted last week" on the BBC site I am very hopeful that we are all in for some good news.
I can't help but think that there must be a link between our sponsors and the Chinese bid. Standard Chartered are very big in the Far East and I am sure that a link between our sponsor and our owner is inevitable - and would be good for them both.

With new owners, improved finances and our new manager I feel that Liverpool Football Club will be restored to its proper place. Roy is exactly what we need. He is a gentleman, obviously has true values, knows his football and will bring back to the club something which we lost when Kenny left - dignity, drive and passion!

Looking forward to the new season

Any Red doing a little due-diligence will soon discover why this particular deal is doomed to fail!

1. The reports that 'Kenny' Huang is to buy Liverpool is shrouded in confusion as sources in both China and America have stated that he does not have the money to buy the club.

2. As part of the due-diligence to buy the club he supposedly declined to sign a confidentiality clause which is requested of all interested parties. We all have to ask why is this story breaking without official club backing, its not the way its done!

3. Financiers are being quoted as saying "it is simply not plausible" that he can effectively strike a deal with RBS bank in order to take control.

One source in China is today saying publicly: "Kenny has no capability of buying Liverpool." "Kenny has never been the main investor, nor in fact did he ever have any personal financial involvement in any similar deal at all," one source says.

Huang owns a company in Hong Kong, QSL Sports Limited, which describes itself as a "sports investment company" but its a simple website, which hasn't been updated in several months, ceased working today, with users given the message: "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit." Does this sound like a profesionally run business?

QSL Sports Limited's main interests to date have been in promoting China's second-tier semi-professional basketball league (the NBL), and in promoting a new Chinese youth league in baseball (CYBL); baseball is still a fledgling sport in the country. Until May this year, QSL's co-founder and primary financial backer was a billionaire businessman, Adrian Cheng, whose family have been ranked by Forbes as the 112th richest family in the world, worth $7.7bn. Cheng and Huang parted company two months ago. Skeptical sources in China claim that Huang only came to prominence as a front man for an unnamed wealthy Hong Kong family within the past couple of years and that he no longer has that association.

"Those in the know in London with an understanding of what Kenny Huang apparently hopes to achieve at Liverpool say he has offered to effectively buy Liverpool's debt of £237m from RBS, cutting out any involvement in a formal bidding process being handled by Barclays Capital under the direction of Liverpool's chairman Martin Broughton. Yet even those close to Huang cannot explain how buying the debt from RBS would definitely hand him or his backers control of the club. One RBS source described as "absolute bollocks" the idea that RBS would unilaterally sell Liverpool's debt to Huang or had been involved in advanced talks to do so."

The club's American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, owe RBS £237m as a result of what was effectively their leveraged buyout, and the pair have also subsequently leant Liverpool another £144m via a Cayman Islands branch of their Liverpool investment vehicle, according to accounts for the financial year ending summer 2009.

It has been claimed that Huang has the backing of an unnamed Asian sovereign wealth fund, which if true could put billions at his disposal. The operative words are "if true".

If an Asian sovereign wealth fund wanted to buy Liverpool, as I said in my earlier post, why would it not go through the conventional channels, namely BarCap and Broughton?

Other questions being asked;

1. Why would any investment arm use Huang as a front man, when he has no previous history of sports deals on the scale of a Premier League football club?

2. Why would they let him effectively manage its funds?

As we heard on Roy's appointment Liverpool confirmed there are multiple interested parties involved in talks about buying the club and that a preferred bidder should emerge in due course, perhaps within a few weeks. They also said the requirement of any potential buyer would be their ability to take the club forward, specifically in funding a new 60,000-plus seat stadium that could cost up to £400m "this of the utmost importance, now more than ever" one source said.

Financial specialists are advising that "There is a formal process in place and BarCap runs it, you cannot simply go to RBS or Wachovia or Bank of America and try to do a unilateral deal because it won't work and it won't stack up."

If its true Kenny Huang refused to sign a confidentiality agreement you have to ask why?

Finally and most telling in what has happened in this unofficial one man show..A source who knows Huang well said: "Kenny is good at making deals, as in facilitating deals for other people. He would certainly be capable of bringing people together. But Kenny is also very, very good at promoting Kenny."

Haven't we been here before?

Shevchenko has been getting ready for life on Merseyside according to his partner's mum. Wouldn't be surprised to see the deal completed before the Arsenal game, apparently he has always wanted to work with Roy since Roy was in Italy.

Not a rumour, more of a comment.

As green as the grass may seem we as a club need to seriously look at the situation and realise that he may not be the messiah but a very naughty boy, lightning can strike twice afterall. H&G were heralded by all and sundry and look what happened there, spade in the ground within 60 days and so forth. Huang is the front man for a larger corporation, one that will want to see a return on their investment. I can't see huge money at LFC and that may be a good thing as we need steady growth rather than a sugar daddy. The real benefit will be how we fare in China and the far east and that's where QSL are banking on seeing a sizeable return. Im not expecting fireworks and I think uncle woy is far too a canny operator to get carried away, the egos he's dealing with at present are enough to keep him occupied.

wit all the transfer rumours why hasn't it been mentioned that it's time carragher needs to be replaced...and quickly. Serious major flaw in the liverpool team one of the many reasons why liverpool were so so poor last year. Johnson is another major flaw in the defence, why was insua allowed to be played all last season and why wasn't he ran out of anfield as soon as the season was over beggars belief why he's still there. Sweet jaysis like.

talking to my ''sources'' as you guys call them tonight...they have not heard anything other than what's in the media, all the talk seems to be coming from huang's corner...however one of them who works in law also told me that if it is true, and he does buy the debt then hicks and gillet will be in an untenable position as kenny huang can put a timeline and whatever interest he wants on the debt, and because the debt is trusted to kop holdings ltd. and not the brand liverpool f.c it leaves h&g with no choice to sell the club to mr.huang,if thats what he wishes, because if they dont then he can screw the two of them...and after hearing that i thought...jesus that is a shrewd bit of buisness by the chinese...

Kenny Huang has been quoted as NOT denying the rumors published in the latest Sunday Mirror that he is in talks to buy Liverpool Football Club. What he does deny is that he spoke with a reporter from the Mirror.

Firstly this fella is not a money-man in his own right, he is a 'deal maker' reported to be backed by Chinese state-owned investment funds.

My concerns are if Kenny Huang has approached the Royal Bank of Scotland with an offer to take on the club's £237 million debt and has by-passed Broughton and BARCAP, then this is going to be a HOSTILE takeover! And with Gillett and Hicks looking set to leave Anfield without a profit if it does go through, I think we can expect a bumpy ride before anything is going to be finalised.

Huang is believed to have made contact with a number of senior figures at the club in an attempt to prove the serious nature of his bid. Who these figures are is anyones guess, but I can't imagine Broughton being one of them as a hostile takeover will not be part of his remit. So if the reports that the possible takeover of the club has been used in trying to persuade Fernando Torres to stay are true, then the buyers the club do have in mind will not be Kenny Huang.

Gillett and Hicks appointed Broughton as temporary non-executive chairman of Liverpool in April to help oversee the takeover of the club, and while
as a part of a refinancing deal put in place earlier this year, RBS can seize the control of any sale and negotiate a deal should they feel that the action would represent the best course to repay their loan. Even they will not facilitate a hostile takeover, as RBS wants to play a part in loaning the required financing of the new stadium and new investments etc.

With reports in the financial press also rumouring that Dubai International Capital (DIC) are believed to have submitted a fresh bid to take over Liverpool. The only sure thing at the moment is that something is kicking-off on the sell-off and that's got to be good news.

Hopefully, all will unfold sooner rather than later and we'll have owners who genuinely want what's best for the club and its supporters.

Chinese businessman Kenny Huang is one of "several" potential buyers to submit a bid to Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton, BBC Sport reports.

Huang, who is the head of Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports Ltd, values the club at about £350m.

But it is understood that as many as six bids were submitted last week.

Broughton and investment bank Barclays Capital, who are leading the sale, will elect a preferred bidder by the end of next week.

While RBS has told the BBC it is not negotiating directly with Huang, it is understood he is mounting a credible bid.

However, he wants the deal to be completed within two weeks to allow Hodgson time to strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline at the end of August. Any later and the deal is off.

I love reading everyone's assumptions on what liverpool's starting 11 will be. It's gonna be this dude here and this fella there, even though there has been nothing linking them with the club.

Here's the deal for all you fellow liverpool fans that have got the kleenex out anticipating signings which aren't going to happen:

Liverpool are still far off from being bought anytime soon as the offer on the table needs to show how debts will be tackled, funding being made available for players and the development of the new stadium. Possibility deal done before transfer window which could bring in big signings but liverpool fans need to catch on that it still may not happen.

Aurelio was signed because he's been holding his fitness well of late and he was already settled with the squad. We know he's solid enough to play left back for liverpool and considering the nature of Johnson's attacking on the right side, it is only natural to bring someone in who provides cover when the 2 centre backs move over right. Remember Roberto Carlos's style of play? when he attacked Real adapted to three CB's. Same with Man United and Evra, Ashley Cole and Chelsea. Liverpool will always attack more down the right than the left as it allows kuyt and johnson to interlink with the midfield but still provide a sturdy defence coming in from the left. The only reason I see that Roy is still looking for a left back is that Aurelio is slowing up a bit and a younger player needs to come in.

Everyone neglecting Kuyt in their fantasy liverpool 11? not tactical enough someone said? Let's get this straight. Kuyt was bought as a striker. He started as a closing down front man which then got changed to him playing wide and more defensively. He's played centrally in behind torres as a support striker and played left midfield for Holland during the world cup. He allows players behind him to play one two passes and attack knowing that he has the stamina to get back and cover.

If any of you liverpool fans took this into consideration then he would probably be in your team too. I can guarantee if he is fit, he will start at least 30 games for liverpool this season.

Finally, Babel is unlikely to go anywhere as Roy was interested in signing him last year. So expect to see him at Liverpool until at least January. Im not backing Babel up as I personally think he is too predictable and can't control the ball like you'd expect a professional should. I actually detest watching him play and if you watch closely enough, you'll notice Gerrard keeps out right to use kuyt more. When Gerrard uses Babel he always looks for the simple ball back because he knows he is not capable of playing a through ball if he gerrard moves forward.

There are plenty of players I hope come to Liverpool e.g.

Scott Parker to play the role that alonso used to beside Lucas which would allow gerrard to play further up field with torres. Cole on the left with kuyt on the right.

I could name players all day but more often than not, it is just someone with no link to the clubs own' speculation.

Let's get over this chat and keep our feet on the ground

Best not to get too carried away. This sounds like there is some real activity which we can get hold of rather than invent stories. Too many stars won't be the answer. RH is hopefully going to balance the squad with experienced PL players and others who plug any gaps and produce a "good bench" as they say!

Would like to see Fucile he had a great World Cup for Uruguay and will do the business with Fab as back up. Turan sounds like a class player who wants to play for us and will provide width. Crouch would be an option to change things around if Torres is running into a wall. Need midfield and dream that Alonso will be allowed back. Jonjo looked a very good prospect on Sunday. Powerful for a youngster, seemed to want the ball and tried to play things through more quickly than Mash ever did. With what we have and these we should have a better season and who knows. Worst thing would be to dive in for for players who won't fit.

Think our manager is too smart to panic no matter what happens.

Oh, and Ed thanks a million for this site. You are a genius.

Hi ED!, Well happy with Liverpool site!, no more SPL and Leeds BS to sift through!!, Heard any more on the Kenny Huang situation?? maybe exciting times ahead ??, Yanks out!! YNWA

I would love Aguero at LFC but surely if Liverpool are in for him it would only be because Torres is going, there is no way he would play second string to nando which is wot would happen. also rumours around crouch seem unlikely, he left us cos he wanted to get more games so again why would he come back to act as no2 striker. ed any ideas what roy is thinking about his striker options ?

02 Aug 2010 20:32:29
Ed, just wondering on Purslow in Madrid..is he back and who do the media reckon he was talking to Real Madrid or Athletico?

OR getafe :D

02 Aug 2010 20:31:26
Not a rumour just interested to hear everyones thoughts. With mascherano's imminent sale, hopefully in the region of 25 million, who would everyone like to see brought in. And is there anyone else who could be sold to increase funds.

In my personal opinion I think we could get de Jong from city for around 8m. Hard tackling midfielder, just what we need. However I would like someone like axel witsel. A great prospect with decent tackling and an eye for goal. Maybe around 15m? Then try an lure arda with the rest.

02 Aug 2010 20:23:58
RBS have the power to take control of the sale of the club should they believe it to be the best way to ensure the repayment of loans and the quickest possible sale of the Anfield outfit.

02 Aug 2010 20:18:52
the club and debts have already bin sold how did lfc keep stevie g , nando , and sign j cole on the fact that were only playing europa cup this year ????

02 Aug 2010 20:17:25
this is my first post and maybe controversial but if bellamy is available for less than 5 million why are we not seriously looking at him? i understand that his time at anfield wasn't great but he was a good performer last year for city and after all it is a different regime now at liverpool i for one think he would be a good addition

02 Aug 2010 20:16:09
Some reports are suggesting that there could be as much as six bids on the table to buy Liverpool and the "best" bid will be accepted,Not neccesarily the highest. This means that the potential new owners must promise to pay off the debt,Get the new stadium built and provide funds for transfers.A bid is expected to be accepted this week so that there will be funds availible for Hodgson.

Expect Hodgson to make several signings once the takeover is completed and at least 1 marquee signing. If i had to guess who this might be i would say either Forlan or Aquero but that's just personal opinion!!

02 Aug 2010 20:14:36
Two players coming in are Steven Defour and Arda Turan. Turan will play on the right and Kuyt will move to Inter. Defour will play in the middle with Lucas, though both will have defensive and offensive duties (or rather, neither player will directly replace Masch).

Reina
Johnson,Carra,Agger,Aurelio
Lucas,Defour
Turan,Gerrard,Cole

Observations about Liverpool's game against the Germans -

1. Hodgson played a 4-4-2, with Cole playing just off the main striker

2. There was no dm in sight

Because of this I think we are looking for a striker to partner Torres, rather than playing him on his own, but if the takeover is delayed or we don't get the funds promised or we can't get a striker for whatever reason, I think he plans to play Cole behind Torres in a 4-4-2 that adapts to a 4-5-1.

Possible team:

Reina
Johnson--Carra--Agger--lb
Babel--Gerrard--Aquilani--Cole
striker
Torres

Team at the moment:

Reina
Johnson--Carra--Agger--Aurelio
Babel--Gerrard--Mascherano--Jovanovic
Cole
Torres

The good thing is we have an adaptable formation and team before we bring in any more signings, so there's no rush as we don't want to make the same mistakes made with the Americans.

02 Aug 2010 19:39:36
Sorry guys don't want to piss on your parade or anything as I have quite fond memories of you guys in the cup final a few years back, but ive been reading up about this takeover and if its true that this chinese guy's backers are the one's that hold the millions then be careful as thats what West Ham had when the icelandic's took us over. Some guy fronting the takeover saying there was unlimited funds, going to sign amazing players etc. and he went around spending other peoples money, went a bit OTT with wages and fee's and when they wanted some return on their investment, we wasn't able to pay them back so we starting selling players like Anton, Bellamy etc.

Hope it all goes well for you'se, I'm just saying don't count your chickens.

Does anyone know what the firm is that's been mentioned as representing Huang's interests? I've seen mention of this several times in reports today but no one has named them.

02 Aug 2010 19:21:13
This is not a rumour - just an observation.
Many people are posting here that Ken Huang is bypassing Hicks and Gillett and dealing direct with RBS. This will not be the case as RBS have no say in the sale of the club, only the servicing of the debt that the owners have put the club in. The sale of the club will be overseen by Barclays Capital and Martin Broughton. Also as MB has advised in the past H&G cannot block the sale of the club either.
This is not the first or even second time that Huang has been rumoured to be making a bid. It was reported in April that he was about to make a bid and was also linked two years ago but was put off by the valuation of the club. Maybe it will be third time lucky for him.

02 Aug 2010 19:15:13
rbs have confirmed contact

02 Aug 2010 19:00:36
to this guy

why are all the liverpool fans posting that the club is now going to have lots of money to be able to sign people like Defour and Aguero? If this takeover does go through there may be some money to spend but the fact that it is a consortium rather than a rich benefactor suggests that there will be a lot of people looking for a return for their investment rather than all throwing endless amounts of money into the club for new signings.

supposedly huang is guarenteeing 60m transfer kitty for two years. which would be more than enough for at least defour and maybe aguero, not saying we'll get defour but at least a similiarly priced player.

editor you are pure legend for making this site. you should add the believable/unbelievable buttons to this one as well. editor do you think aguero is now a possibility?

02 Aug 2010 18:54:31
Ed,just wondering on Purslow in Madrid..is he back and who do the media reckon he was talking to Real Madrid or Athletico?

02 Aug 2010 18:44:06
ed is it true that d i c are coming back in for us and if so we should go and buy aguero and possibly kaka. i would love to see us buy mesut ozil to be the natural successor to stevie g when he retires is there a possibility of him coming as well as the others ive mentioned who else is likely to come. i know we are guessing and wishing for these signing to happen but ed come on let us know anymore goss that will realisticly come off for the mighty reds.
PS Does anyone else have any realistic goss??
Come on D.i.c please buy us now we should have accepted your offer the first time round in hine sight!!

bRILLIANT bRILLIANT, it's fantastic to have this site at last. No more having to sift through Rangers & Celtic sectarianism. RBS say that they are not talking to anyone about LFC takeover, looks like another false dawn

02 Aug 2010 18:34:11
TO THE PERSON WHO SAID THIS

POULSEN TO LIVERPOOL FOR 5 MILLION ON A 2 YEAR DEAL WITH AN OPTION FOR THE THIRD
PETER CROUCH FOR 6.5 MILL ...
AFTER MASCH SALE EXPECT A BID FOR DEFOUR 10 MIL SHAUN WRIGHT PHILIPS AND BRIDGE 12 MILLION COMBINED ...

LIVERPOOL TILL I DIE ...YNWA .....

POULSENS AGENT HAS DENIED ANY LINK WITH LFC SO DONT SEE THAT HAPPENING M8.....
CROUCHIE WOULD BE GR8 BUT NOT SURE SPURS WOULD WANT TO DO ANY BUSINESS WITH US AS WE ARE A DIRECT RIVAL FOR THE 4TH SPOT...
DEFOUR SEEMS A VERY LIKELY ONE AS HIS AGENT HAS JUST COME OUT AND SAID THAT IF A DEAL IS MADE DISCUSSIONS WILL BE HELD ...
NOT HEARD ANYTING BOUT THE SHWP AND BRIDGE DEAL FOR 12 MILL BUT CUD BE A GOOD PIECE OF BUSINESS AS CITY ARE LOOKING TO OFFLOAD MANY HIGH EARNING BENCH WARMERS .....SOME ARE SUGGESTING SANTA CRUZ COULD BE GOT FOR THE CHEAP ....ILL PREFER A BID FOR IRELAND MYSELF FOR 8-10 MIL ........

YNWA

02 Aug 2010 18:32:00
Possible ins: (prices very changeable)

Arda 11-14m (I'd like to see him come in.)

Defour 10-12m (Very good player, huge potential)

Cambiasso / Muntari p/x (prefer Cambiasso, Muntari too temperamental and childish + this p/x would only happen should Defour fail to sign)

Figueroa 5-7m (not too sure about the whole Insua deal but if he is sold, Figueroa comes in)

Banega 8-14m -> Valencia might want to recoup a larger amount. (Same as Defour, but again only as a back-up, not sure of his ability to settle into new surroundings quickly)

SWP 6-8m (Cheap, quick, english, unlikely to play at city)

Bridge 7-9m (English, otherwise worth 4-6m)

Crouch 7-9m (Proficient back-up to striker(s))

And a huge, marquee signing...

Sergio 'Kun' Aguero 35-40m (provided new owner(s) come(s) in)

(Possible) outs -

Mascherano 25-28m OR 15-18m + Cambiasso / Muntari
Insua - 5m - Fiorentina (should be going soon)
Numerous loan deals of reserve team players.

I believe Babel will stay on to see if he can resurrect his career under Hodgson playing from the left or right or in the hole but not as a main striker, and Kuyt may be a surprise leaver for around 12-15m to inter. Hard worker, lacking in technical ability.

Team for 2010/11 season could look something like this:

--------------------Reina--------------------

---Johnson-----Carra-----Agger---Figueroa---

----------------Defour/Banega---------------

---Cole/SWP-------Gerrard------Arda/Cole---

---------------Torres-------Kun-------------

I can't see it all falling into place like this but this team is well capable of winning the Premier League.

Substitute bench could look like this:

Cavalieri / Gulacsi
Skrtel
Aurelio / Wilson (2m)
Lucas
Babel
Crouch (7-9m)
Jovanovic

Total Expenditure if this is the squad = 76-92m
Total Income (including previous sales) = 48-54m
Total Spend = 22m - 38m

02 Aug 2010 18:16:50
Even with the potential new investment i still think we will e unable to sign aguero. I also am unsure about wayne bridge for left back. I think Ivan camacho can be a possible replacement for masch. Would love to see arda come to LFC. Think we only need 3 signings to be title contenders. This bring a top class lb, a right mid and a striker.

02 Aug 2010 18:15:30
the last game against chelsea ..it makes you wonder was the chinese shirt all to do with carlsberg? World Expo 2010. ? liverpool and shanghai being twinned?? or was this set in motion for a sale and then this guy has found a better way to get the club? I hope to christs sake this is a positive move cos be honest ,we dont really know...My feelings on a sale would be, Id feel alot safer if the abs bought the club..smf

02 Aug 2010 18:15:26
wow fantastic move ED

dont have to sift through the man s**tty stuff now

when i was told the club was sold a while back, which i'll admit im not convinced it is or was now, but was told it was sold (wasn't told to whom), and posted many times, but because of the final game with the chienese sponser on the shirt i did wonder?
Anyhow i was told 5 first teamers one being Aguero so i will wait and see.
I'd love it to happen but will hold my breath until i see it. Originally i was convinced it was gospel but it hasn't all panned out as i was told it.
my top target would be xabi

Found this info on web about Kenny Huang

The two things you need to know about Huang then, are that although he is wealthy, it is his backers that really hold the billions. The second fact is that not only will he bring wealthy backers, his connections with China's state owned companies mean exceptionally lucrative sponsorship deals from the Far East. If Huang's consortium does takeover, expect many pre-season tours of China, but also keep in mind that Liverpool maybe the first football club to crack the highly lucrative market in China. Huang already has a track record of doing this, tying Anta to Houston Rockets and more recently Tsing Tsao to the Cleveland Cavaliers. His passion for sport is undoubted with his deal-brokering in both Basketball and Baseball, and he now looks like turning his attention to football and Liverpool FC.

also tried to visit the QSL Sports Ltd. site but it seems to have exceeded it's Bandwidth limit today :-).
Hopefully this will come about and rid our great club of those parasitic yanks

The Chinese chap has already bought us out. Aguero already in the bag and my source tells me another very big signing or three within days. The Americans are not making any profit, torres is staying, Kylie Minogue has asked me out and Ive got a Porche parked up outside....then I woke up. Club going nowhere I am afraid. The fact that we are left with deadwood such as Insua and Aurelio makes this blatently obvious. People posting these rumours are only deluding themselves. Thank you for killing the club Mr Moores and Mr Parry! BigColwilko

02 Aug 2010 18:09:10
Kenny Huang is just the front to the deal he is just a deal maker and he has backers worth billions! Exciting times ahead for liverpool!

L31

02 Aug 2010 18:06:37
IF the Chinese Kenneth Huang buyes Liverpool I think we will have enough money to buy sergio kun aguero and ever banega as masch replacement. Aguero will make Torres stay and the Torres/Aguero combination will be the best attack in Premier League and i think they can reach 50 + goals / season . And if Torres gets injured i think we will go back to 4-5-1 with aguero alone striker and aquilani behind him...(my dream signing for the left back is Gareth Bale but thats impossible I know)

4-4-2

Torres 9 Aguero 7

Jovanovic 14 Gerrard 8 Banega 24 Cole 10

Aurelio(?) 12 Agger 5 Carragher 23 Johnson 2

Reina 25

4-5-1
Aguero 7

Aquilani 4

Jovanovic 14 Gerrard 8 Banega 24 Cole 10

Aurelio 12 Agger 5 Carragher 23 Johnson 2

Reina 25

This is what I think and hopes and has definetely not said it will happen ...

02 Aug 2010 18:06:18
As I read through the below apparent rumors by Liverpool fans all I can do is cringe. 1/ Please don't get too excited by the takeover talk, look at the American take over, we all got excited and look how that turned out. Lets hope the board take as much time as they need to make sure its the rite deal for the club now and in 20 years time. 2/ some of the players I am seeing on this rumor we are being linked with are ridiculous and pathetic.

Liverpool fans I understand we are all excited and its nice to think off these great players at the club, but be realistic. The future of the club is much more important than signing 10 20million+ players.

02 Aug 2010 18:05:25
Liverpool have agreed a deal to loan philliph degan to stugarrt with a view of a permanent deal at the end of this season. Sorry about the spelling

02 Aug 2010 18:02:56
Not really rumour..some comment....China is an untapped market. Could bring in alot of sponsorship. Still in a dilemma. Do we want a business orientated consortium that could bring in much needed revenue from Chinese companies or a sugar daddy from the Emirates who spend for prestige alone? Whatever happens the stadium has to be written into the contract and obviously no debts piled onto the Club as part of agreement....

Liverpool Football Club could be sold "within days" to Chinese businessman Kenny Huang, according to a report by the BBC.
Talks are said to be at a crucial and late stage regarding the sale of the club to Huang – who intends to pay off Liverpool's debt owed to the Royal Bank of Scotland and get work underway on a new stadium.
A source close to Huang told the BBC, "A deal has to be done before the transfer window closes."Huang has made a firm proposal. The club's board has to sanction the sale and it could be sewn up in days.
"Kenny is the only serious bidder interested in the club and he's optimistic," added the source."
Huang is the head of Hong Kong based investment company QSL Sports Ltd and is thought to be keen to get the deal through as quickly as possible to allow new Reds boss Roy Hodgson the funds to sign new players before the transfer window closes on August 31st.

Keeping my finger cross....H&G out you go!!

dear editor love the new site just a quick question is it true that rbs have a claus in the refinance of the loan for the club which happened last year that if the yanks could'nt sell the club by a certian date they could step in and sell the club with out there consent hence Chinese Businessman Kenny Huang going to rbs and not the yanks ive read it on a few website hope its true

huang is already new owner deal was one while ago but didnt want hype that city got .roy has been told there is 50 million for this transfere window and stadium work underway asap. my source is current liverpool player who i wont name to spare him any trouble .the players have been informed and are very happy about the new owner . only downfall is he paid 420 million which means the yanks still make a profit this is 100% true

02 Aug 2010 16:33:37
Not so much a rumour as an observation - is this process not sounding very similar to the Portsmouth saga last year, buys the debt, gets coverage from somewhere else and we are in the sem trouble again soon!

Not 100% convinced this will be a good deal for Liverpool just for RBS! Regret the day David Moores made a quick buck from selling to G&H.

Only solid rumours knocking about appear to be Crouch and Poulsen. Question is surely we need to get in a decent left and right winger (Joe Cole is not the final solution there) and a striker yet we still seem to be buying central midfielders

02 Aug 2010 16:27:55
Now that their will hopefully be new owners soon the aguero deal could be realistic. What do you think ed?

hi ed gr8 site this is! i'm gr8 fan of Liverpool from India. Here i want to ask you that if takeover took place before tranfer window and there are funds for squad with new owners then why we can't sign gr8 players like Ozil, Muller, Kroos, VDV, SWP, Etoo, Ibrahimowich, Higuinr, Ashley Cole etc. big names with talent rather then sticking to Crouch, figuero(sorry if typo), Ruiz etc.?? I just want to see big Liverpool which is attractive at names and attractive at players and winning trophies!

To all Liverpool fans this is not a transfer rumour but can anybody think of any 'Royisms'? You know how Rafa always used to say things like quality, squad, facts and ya! All I can think of for Roy is 'very very'

Also, somebody said we would get Dzeko for 25mil. He would cost 35mil at least, considering Man City bid over 30mil for him, and it was rejected.

02 Aug 2010 15:32:04
Roy Hodgson has been tipped to make a move for Aston Villa's Ashley Young after the odds on the player's next club were slashed this week.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is already a confirmed admirer of Young and could steal a march on Hodgson in the race for the talented winger by offering Villa Jermaine Jenas, Robbie Keane and David Bentley in an exchange deal.

Young is said to be disillusioned at Villa Park and is disappointed by the lack of signings this Summer and has already spoken about his displeasure at potentially seeing James Milner join Manchester City.

Martin O'Neill would loathe to see another of his young stars linked away from Villa Park, but is unlikely to be given the funds to bring in the signings to appease his ambitious players. Having already given Young wages of £65,000 a week, it seems there is little more the Irishman can do to persuade him that the club can match his desire for silverware.

they need to keep torres /gerrard they are legend. should sign hamsik whilst he's cheapish.

02 Aug 2010 15:14:31
Just listened to tony evans on talk sport and he says that there is a bid from kenny huang but he is offering to buy the debt and he is doing it behind the backs of the yanks cos they want 800 million . And he byrn says that is the only offer on the table and he knows for certain that if this bid fails Torres will leave cos there is no other bids but doing it this way means the yanks will not get any money for themselves . So I pray for the deal to go through otherwise its dark days for th reds

02 Aug 2010 15:12:01
huang will take charge next week and these are some of the players he will look to sign : L.B.: W. bridge/ salcido/ lahm [unlikely] ..MIDfeilders: SWP/ Milner/ van der vaart/ defour, strikers: remy/ AguerO

Thank you ed for creating this site! I am an avid follower of your other site! Not really a rumour but more of an observation-purslow was in Madrid last wk and some of us were dreaming that he was possibly there for aguero. With the emergence of this bid, does anyone think that the aguero rumor maybe a little more realistic? I have a funny feeling that the announcement of new, owners may well coincide with a marquee signing who will indeed be Mr. Kun aguero, not to be confused wit his brother ken! Just a hunch-what do you tnk ed?

to editor --- in your opinion what are the chances of the kenny huang takeover deal going through or is it just another false dawn .
ngs77

02 Aug 2010 14:37:32
Kenny Huang will NOT, I repeat will NOT buy Liverpool. Instead, it is Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid al Maktoum who is in advanced negotiations to buy the club. Hicks is using Huang to drive up the asking price. However, 400m will be the price at which H&G sell the club for. The deal should be completed before the end of the transfer window, giving Hodgson time to meet Wolfsburg's valuation of Edin Dzeko of 42m. It will be the same as Man City signing Robinho on deadline day, but ours won't flop :)

02 Aug 2010 14:34:02
Roy Hodgson will sign Vincent Kompany and Steven Defour in the next fortnight, both before the game against Arsenal. Kompany will sign for 8m and Defour will sign for 12m. Also, Maynor Figueroa will be a Liverpool player by the end of the transfer window. His move will be for 6m.

New owners trying to have good squad not big names . Team would be awesome

Reina
Johnson Chiellini Agger Taiwo

Cole Gerrard Milner Young

Torres Dzenko
Then have second team proving strong squad
Cavaleri
Kelly Carra Kryag Aurelio

Amoo Aqua defour Jovanovic

Pachenco Dalla Valle

What you think ed surely squad to win premier league and not too unrealistic with new owners. Not doing a man city job just build on already strong squad
