From the guy who gets team news spot on every week tells me Isla, Martinez and Hoilett are very much big targets and we want two strikers aswell.

RM

Grab Hoilett if he's cheap... He's ruling it in my FM12 game... ;)

Which Martinez? I'm guessing you're speaking of Jackson Martinez who is a striker.

There's another martinez who's a Spanish midfielder

Ed,

Kyriakos Papadopoulos, playing for Schalke and aged 20, loooks like a good player in the Vidic mould....

Again looks like another case of a German club.....not sure they would be willing to sell him.....they are in the UCL......

But do you think Liverpool would look at him?...He is big and strong and we havent had that kind of center back unlike ManU, Chelsea and Tottenham..

LiverBird {Ed001's Note - yes we have, as have United, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal.}

I said that 6 months ago. but i liked the name. lol

Great player..

If Liverpool would ever sign a defender he would be my first choice..

Stich

We need goals!

Liverpool last night made an enquiry for rennes midfielder yann mvila , he will definatly be available in the summer and looks like we are making moves before the euros.

What are your sources that we made a bid for him?
danieldenmark

Ed do you know how much rennes would want for mvila and if hed be intersted in the move? cheers ed {Ed001's Note - I don't know how much they would be looking for, but he is almost certain to move in the summer, I don't know who to though.}

M'Vila if attainable would build a fortress with Lucas in front of our back four. He's an excellent player and we do really need some added steal.

Papa G

I feel this deal is possible and hope he comes to Liverpool cos he is a fantastic young player

Yes with him and Lucas in front of our back four, not even barca would score against us. But I also have to add, we too will not be able to score against anyone with so many people with defensive duties. Priority must be on an attacking player.

On his way to the Arsenal ;)

stee

I agree i think lucas and mvila together would be quality ! i think its best we make a move now otherwise after the euros his price will double.

Daniel denamark - i didnt say that we had bid for him , we have made enquiry ( started talks )

M'Vila would be a fantastic coup for LFC. I just have this feeling that somebody else might gazump us and we will miss out on him. Hope not though.

Look at u all; already planning the team sheet for next season! Choirboys! Get a grip and stop dreaming! Wait n see what happens u jokers! People will be coming on here reading ur comments and takin the piss big style! Clarkchenko7

A 4 2 3 1 would not be bad with lucas an mvilla being the 2 of course but prio needs to be attacking players aswell..

ED what do you reckon the Silva moving up to senior next year? he just walks around players (maybe why they play reserves and div 2) but still? {Ed001's Note - I think he deserves a shot, we don't have anyone better on the right at the moment, well Gerrard but he doesn't play there. He looks to have developed massively, on the physical side, so should be ready on that front too.}

Not sure if I trust this un-named post but it would be a great signing which would enable Lucas Leiva to play further forward.

Ed do you think we have a chance of getting soldado in the summer? {Ed001's Note - of course we have a chance, hard to say how much until we know who else is in for him and whether we actually bid for him.}

Liverpool fc squad 2012 2013

Reina

kelly agger skrtel jose enrique

lucas lieva steven gerrard

theo walcott stuart downing

luis suarez cavani

Haha dream on buddy

Eds, have we ever looked at Hunterlaar? He's scored goals wherever he's been, and at a very good strike rate! He's also partnered Suarez before, and at 28 isn't exactly old either, plus I wouldn't think he'd cost a massive amount to bring in?

Ryan 'O {Ed001's Note - we looked at him when he was younger, before he left Holland, not since then as far as I am aware though.}

Thanks for the reply mate. Do you rate him at all?

Ryan 'O {Ed001's Note - not really, he just lacks something for me. I wouldn't buy him.}

Ed do Liverpool still hold a serious interest in portos fernado Reges heard his name on this site a while back {Ed002's Note - I really don't think Liverpool have ever been interested in Fernando. However, I can tell you that Dinamo Zagreb's Milan Badelj has been looked at by Liverpool, Lazio and Spurs but Palermo are keen to push for a deal as soon as possible.}

Badelj looks a proper star in the making, I would definitely take a punt on him if it was for a reasonable price. Dinamo can fair produce a star or two, Kovacic looks like he'll be the next one to fetch them a pretty penny after Badelj.

Rugby Parker

I'm from croatia, and hope that liverpool doesnt bid for him as he sucks big time(watched him over 30 times), Kovačić is on other hand young, fast, tech.. player that liverpool should buy on instant

Nah Sime Vrsalijko will be gone before Kovacic, and he'll be an excellent right back

Hi eds ,With chelsea being linked to cavanni ,would that mean that sturridge could be on the move ? ,If so would lfc have any interest ,fits with policy ,young,English ,pl experience , proven goalscorer etc . cheers ant. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have no intention of selling Sturridge right now. I doubt he would be available.

More chance of torres coming back !

I think Torres is more likely to leave than Sturridge. Not that he's coming back here, but he'll be off to Italy most likely.

Eds, if KK were to step down at the end of the season, what are you thoughts on Andre Villa Boas good manager who was not given a chance by chelsea. {Ed002's Note - I have no desire to speculate on what will happen at Liverpool in respect of the manager right now, but AVB left Chelsea bcause results were poor. Perhaps the job came a few years too early for him.}

Ed, dude you're the essentially part of the media. You don't need to show respect to people with regards to saying whether you think they'll be sacked or not. In fact, you SHOULD say whether you think the manager will be here next season or next.

I don't mean to have a go but Kenny's a millionairre. He's got enough coming in his dirction without journalists/media/bloggers refusing to comment on what they truelly think their position is. It would be rspectful to the fans who come on this site, who are not as fortunate as Dalglish, to tell them your honest opinion.

Great site by the way. {Ed002's Note - My opinion on his future is well known and long predates the recent turning of the fans agaist him. I have explained that there will be much to discuss. If I become aware of interest being shown in other managers and it can be shared, then I will share it.}

Ed i just spoke to tony evans from the times and he had the exact same view on kenny's future as you. cheers ed

There's only one man for the job......come on down Mr Benitez. Love the man.

Matty b

AVB all day for me, it was the fans that got us into this mess in the first place pushing for Daglish as full time manager. AVB should of been our manager this season, he's the best thing for the club moving forward.

AVB walked into the dysfunctional cauldron at Stamford Bridge where 50% of proven Managers are dismal failures. Too young for Chelsea yes (same with Real Madrid), not necessarily true with a club with a more healthy structure. (like LFC post Gillett/Hicks)

Through the Storm

Remember Chelsea paid at least 15 M for AVB so I don't think he was ever a realistic option for Liverpool at the start of the season.

IMO I think we will sign A.Johnson
L de Jong
Ramirez
Isla
and Maybe if a big signing someone like keita
No biggies
But I'd like to state if we are paying stupid money for bog standard players clubs like wigan and wolve are going slap massive price tags on players such as : Jarvis, Mcarthy, Fletcher and Moses.. Stupid YNWA

I think we have our english or brittish based foundations now we will look at players from elsewhere to improve wot we have but i hope and pray that de jong and ramirez are 2 of the 5 players macca on about
mrbrown

I hope so to, but I do not think we will get anyone of a renowned world class standard. YNWA

Bare in mind de jong and ramirez are young and protensional class talent
mrbrown

With what money, do you really think the owners will hand out the best part of 100m again, after finishing below 7th

The club has higher value sellable assets compared to last year though. In the summer, Meireles and Ngog were the only 2 players who fetched any money. This season we're probably looking at selling Johnson, Kuyt, Maxi, Potentially a midfielder or 2, and maybe Carroll if he's not gonna get a decent crack at a starting role. I wouldn't expect huge amounts of money spent, but from what little i've picked up about the FFP stuff, it would be best to make a bigger loss this year in the quest to have a settled squad that can qualify for CL on a regular basis, and then curtail spending, as that would "show willing" that the club are trying to improve their financial situation. Apologies if this is a somewhat rambling post, potentially lost the point of it halfway through posting.

Rugby Parker

We finished below 7th? Thought there were still games to play.

I've been playing FM2012 and Luuk De Jong is BANGIN in goals for my Liverpool side that must mean that signing him would be a "no risk" purchase! do it kenny! I did and I am European Champion...

Chelsea won't sell Ramirez.

Not that ramires! LOL Gaston ramirez

Ah ok fair enough.

Eds, I've been told by a Turkish colleague of mine that Arsenal, United and Liverpool have expressed an interest in Burak Yilmaz of Trabzonspor. Have you heard anything about it? He's on fire this season with 31 goals so far! {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest from Sevilla, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle.}

29 Mar 2012 09:32:47
hey eds quick question do liverpool still hold any interest in at bilbao pair llorente and munian? cheers CRAIG {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player. Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Its not his price tag it his wages heard 130 cant see many clubs paying that

What about Llorente? Ed002! {Ed002's Note - Please read the answer one inch above.}

Ed are we into martias suarez? i saw him he looks a top quality signing...pacy. kool finish..and good skill..reminds me of torres of 2007...can we buy him??..he wont cost as much as soldado, higuain, cavani, or lavezzi..with him and surez and gerrard and lucas behind...we would look a good solid team...
whats ur say? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool along with Arsenal, Newscastle and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez.}

Lets be honest he would not want to come to a mid table team like us when he could play in the CL

Yeah..but whats the use dude..most will only play in group stage of CL..thats 3-4 games...we have won it 5 times...wen liverpool plays execpt last time..we reached SF..and we have the greatest games in CL history...he will come coz..he will not be benched...he will play atleast 20 games...and thats what some footballers whant...

Doean't remind me of Torres at all, less direct and less pacy but with more team play and technique. Looks like a cracking prospect though.

Hello Ed002,
if Guardiola leaves Barca and takes job at Stamford, what are the chances he will meet Mourino (as LFC manager) next season? Apart from that, is any of Liverpool player going to retire after this season, eg Carra? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - No chance. I don't know of any retirements.}

Will Guardiola be in charge for Stamford's next game at home to Market Drayton in the Evo stick league?

Ed could then shed some light on it for me? My contacts have now hit a brick wall! regarding my team (spurs btw most spurs fans go on another site, mainly for spurs fans, again a brick wall has come up!) its regarding maurinho! levy has been out to spain on a few occasions in the last few months! alsop when maurinho was house hunting in north london not so long ago a secret meeting took place between jose and levy @ browns..have you heard different or anything further?
sbn {Ed002's Note - It is all nonsense. There was no secret meeting with Levy and Mourinho has never been house hunting in North London.}

Got to ask ed, but how do you know there was no meeting? I ask because my mate worked at browns! He started his apprentership under ramsey before moving to browns under verberne & marc hix, he has now moved to abu dhaby where he is now a head chef ( I am more than happy to give you any details you would wish for), my mate isn't the biggest football fan but does know who maurinho is! all he told me was one of the waiters said he was dining with the tottenham chairman! Now my mate wouldn't know levy from you, so he just took their word? {Ed002's Note - It is simply not true.}

Ok ed cheers

29 Mar 2012 03:18:24
ed who would u pick between matt philips and nathan redmond?

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - For what purpose? If you are lookimg for a labourer on a far you want the big strong one. If you want a chimney sweep you pick the wirey one.}

Lol ed002, very funny!

Yesterday i had fried rice.

Kaizer

Eds have we got strong interest in matias suarez have not watched a real game of his but just looking at a few videos on youtube (I know not the best way to scout a player) but he looks to have great pace and really good finishing... Could do with another suarez.

KingMiz {Ed002's Note - Liverpool along with Arsenal, Newscastle and Juventus have shown an interest in Matias Suarez.}
