Apparently we are about to announce Sean O'Driscoll as our new assisstant manager. Yep me too I have never heard of him but appartently his last management role at club level saw him sacked by Bristol Ciy

Believable15 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - he performed miracles at Donnie Rovers and I said back then if we were going to take a chance we should get him on board. I am beginning to wonder if FSG are trawling the archives with Firmino and him joining us.....}

29 Jun 2015 23:09:13
Higuain and Medel next for you ed001. Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - depends on how far back they trawl. Could be Keisuke Honda, or they will be dragging some long retired player back into the game from when we first started the site!}

29 Jun 2015 23:17:49
I swear eds I was thinking the same thing as I read this there literally copying what you said so skrtel should be gone soon too, he'll ya. You guys should be in the board

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am always available to the club if they need me!}

29 Jun 2015 23:25:24
I remember back in the day on here ED1 talking about O Driscoll, great shout mate

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Don't encourage him.}

30 Jun 2015 01:11:57
It's Donny 😇

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 01:33:17
The most important question ed01, is wether he is a good/excellent coach instead of a yes man like pascoe or the token scouse in mike marsh.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is a very good coach first and foremost.}

30 Jun 2015 01:46:07
I don't understand how people are happy with this appointment. we should be getting experienced coaches, who have actually achieved something in the game. looks like another Yes man who will back up BR. can't imagine him having any impact on the players. very poor decision, and shows the mediocre standards LFC fans are accustom too under FSG

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - you have no idea if you do not think he is an experienced coach!}

30 Jun 2015 02:06:35
Reading the Echo BR was quoted into saying something. looks like he is back from holidays and gag order removed.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 02:08:35
haha you make me laugh english managers and coaches are pesh full stop untill we start producing players like brazil and spain. then we can call our coaches and mangers something special we got no flair or technical abilities that's a fact our coaches makes us defend and pass backwards and you call this good lol Bournemouth England 19 August 2000 10 September 2006 326 118 98 110 36.20
Doncaster Rovers England 8 September 2006 23 September 2011 268 97 72 99 36.19
Crawley Town England 16 May 2012 19 July 2012 0 0 0 0 —
Nottingham Forest England 19 July 2012 26 December 2012 26 10 9 7 38.46
Bristol City England 14 January 2013 28 November 2013 44 11 13 20 25.00
England U19 England 4 September 2014 Present 7 6 0 1 85.71
Total 671 242 192 237 36.07
wow look at the ratios we are going backwards getting sky betchampion ship and sky bet 1/2 coaches we need spanish and brazilian coaches from u6s upto u18 to bring us flair and technical ablities

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - stats are for those with no understanding to quote. Doncaster had the lowest budget in the division yet he kept them up for years through good coaching. I suppose you think Dario Gradi is a crap coach? You have absolutely no idea.}

30 Jun 2015 02:27:29
Hell if we're going back in the archives I still want ken aguero, cracking player, loves his crisps. ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 06:00:53
Any chance we go in for Ronaldo then? Wasn't he under consideration at one point!! ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the fat one....}

30 Jun 2015 07:21:00
Ah good ol' Seany! :) Former Irish international, long been respected as a coach, bags of experience and excellent working with young players, which is why he got England U19 job. Must admit i'm surprised by this news this morning, but pleasently. Good luck to him. :)

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 07:22:52
FSG will be after Ken Aguero next if they keep following the sight

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 07:45:01
@ ksbhogal. That is a really dumb and groundless assumption and just shows what a mediocre football fan you are.

@ dannycad2. It strikes me that you're about 12 years old and have played a bit of Championship (Football) Manager. Just because he doesn't have a nice tan doesn't mean he's not a good coach.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 10:44:14
Ed001 mention Messi and then we shall all sit back with a big smile 😉

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the only problem with us signing Messi is I would never hear the end of it from Ed007! I have spent so long complaining about Messi's illegal (in sporting terms) usage of HGH that I would never live it down if he played for us. Mind, if he came and won us the league, I would gladly put up with it!}

30 Jun 2015 10:52:47
Dario Grady now that's a coach we should have brought in yrs ago performed miracles at crewe an knew a thing or 2 about bringing youth through, the club bringing in Sean o'driscoll is the most positive coaching move we've made since the jaffa took over

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 11:09:47
Monchi in as DoF next Ed1?!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that would be nice, shame it won't happen.}

30 Jun 2015 11:20:30
Haha, but does taking it as a child count? At least I was under the assumption it was during his childhood/teen years? Obviously once you turn professional I'd assume it's deemed illegal.
Side note - This is only the second time I've seen Ed007 comment. Which page/s does he/she usually frequent?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if it was needed to live a healthy life, then fine, but he didn't need to take it for that, it was taken to improve his level of athletic performance. Ed007 tends to be kept in a box at the side of the sites to be let out when we are desperate for cover. Though most people know it as the Celtic site....}

30 Jun 2015 12:40:36
I have no idea???? He's experienced with DONCASTER. when did they last qualify for the CL?? What u and most of the people on here don't understand is the players need someone who has actually won something to look up too. like the old boot room, we had the chance to go get an amazing Assistant like Pako etc, and BR gets this pile of crap. We also needed someone to actually organise the defence, this guys teams let in more goals then we do. no hope and just like to add, can't see BR lasting too long, mediocre manager who got lucky having Louis Suarez in his team

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - so Paisley, who was the assistant to Shankly, must have been useless as he had won nothing before taking the role. Thankfully you are here to tell the club the error of its ways or we could have ended up in real trouble. As for pile of crap, the only pile of crap is the imbecile judging him without knowing a damn thing about him. You are truly ignorant and yet you still post abuse. You have no constructive criticism, just idiotic notions about running a football club based on complete idiocy. Embarrassing.}

30 Jun 2015 13:32:42
Ed001. don't u dare even bring Paisley up. how can you even compare the two??? You really must be an imbecile.
1) Paisley had retired as a footballer, and joined the Boot Room straight after
2) Paisley was 35 when he joined as a physio, and 40 when he became Assistant, not 57 and been sacked by numerous clubs before being Assistant Manager, with a very poor club record.
Your lack of football knowledge is surprising, and the way you pick facts and twist them to suit your argument is a disgrace. your a typical bully who tries to belittle any poster who doesn't follow what you say.
and just to finish, every statement you made above was simply a reflection on yourself, as every comment was baseless. looks like you're the Moron

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - bye bye, don't bother coming back until you know something about O'Driscoll and won't make such a complete idiot of yourself. People like you don't deserve to have a football team, you only want to abuse every one who is a part of it. Then you have the cheek to call someone else a bully after posting abuse of a nice man who has just taken a role at the club you pretend to care about. Utter and complete moron is what you are. Go find another place to infect with your idiocy.}

30 Jun 2015 13:36:46
Well said Ed001. These are exactly the kind of 'fans' we really don't need.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 14:21:35
Take no notice ed.
Seems to me that O'Driscoll is EXACTLY the type of fella that would have fitted in with the old boot room.
Anyway, I am liking the look of the first team coaching set-up and good to see talented people being given the chance.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 16:34:53
What a doughnut!!bit embarrassed for ya lad, try and see the positives out of this appointment and SUPPORT your club!!can't believe the shite the Eds have to put up with!not on really

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 17:30:29
He did well at Doncaster Rovers !!!! This is Liverpool Football Club I want o hear he did well at Barcelona or Real Madrid or Bayern Munich Doncaster Bloody Rovers is this a joke cause I do not find this at all funny or are FSG giving Rogers enough rope to hang him self ?

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 17:49:03
Haha, I think he created a new account Ed001 ^^

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 21:57:06
Totally agree with Ed001, O'Driscoll is a very experienced coach who was/is very highly regarded. My mate played under him at Bournemouth for years and said he was an excellent manager/coach who obviously knows a thing or two as had Defoe on loan there when he was about 17/18, he coached Eddie Howe and if I am not correct was he not the manager who gave Danny Ings a go as a 17yr old???? Give the guy a chance for goodness sake when are people going to realise we are not living I the past and past glories count for nothing nowadays.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 01:51:10
This guy did work wonders for Rovers; He did so on a very small budget and with the fans more often than not on his back. He is no stranger to a challenge and he actually got Rovers playing a good pass and move game (they just didn't have the quality to be successful with it). He was hugely let down by the board and Ryan in my opinion.

He should be much more passionate than our previous number 2 and will bring some good critiques to the mix, differing to those opinions of Rodgers, of which are well documented, "we showed great character in our defeat today, we are proud of our performance" etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 06:12:24
I don't know much about the guy, but he is highly regarded and not a yes man.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 06:15:22
People on here claim to know about football yet they have never heard of Sean O'Driscoll! Most people reading his wpedia page probably think he's a poor choice but like has been said he worked wonders at Donny and was prematurely sacked by forest. He is renowned for the attractive style of football he plays so i'm pretty happy with the appointment.

Clyne get announced Wednesday,
Any updates eds on hernanes, bacca and benteke?
Thanks mate

Believable0 Unbelievable1

30 Jun 2015 01:15:43
According to sources at sky, Bacca has agreed a deal with Milan. This one never really got off the ground for LFC

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 22:42:12
Guus Hiddink is in talks with LFC. Apparently he is being lined up and is interested after leaving his international post. This is why it's been so quiet.

Believable3 Unbelievable58

30 Jun 2015 07:22:03
You make this up? You didn't, someone did. It's bs

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2015 10:11:57
Did you make that up last night or this morning ?
The utter rubbish some people come up with for a little bit of attention.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 22:25:04
Hi eds, any update on clyne? Seen that he's had his medical but thought his announcement would of been done by now??? Stalling deal ???

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - our medicals take ages.}

30 Jun 2015 14:48:05
Yeah, ask Loic Remy

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 19:25:56
Apparently, Bobby Adekanye is to have medical on Wednesday, at least according to L echo. From footage seen, looks like a Good talent for the academy.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

29 Jun 2015 14:52:59
Liverpool have apparently agreed a deal to sign 16yr old Nigerian Bobby Adekanye who has been on Barcelona's books for the last 4yrs. For some reason he has recently been training with PSV ? He is a fast skilful winger with bags of potential, which must be correct as Barca have had him for quite a while.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2015 16:16:01
Great news, a fast skillful winger with bags of potential. Something our youth setup is really missing!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 14:36:35
Hey ed - do Liverpool hold any interest in Patrick Roberts? I know he is just a kid, but he must be nearing the stage when a move to a big club with a year on loan beckon?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - we have been tracking him, but he has been showing signs of a Sterling like attitude, so I think we are one of many clubs that have backed off this summer.}

29 Jun 2015 15:05:41
Ah, ok ed, thanks!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 12:36:51
Nathaniel Clyne has just completed his medical at Melwood. Pictures showing him leaving and the signing should be confirmed later. Good signing for the £12.5M price paid. Also of note Coates to Sunderland for £2M should be com0leted in the next few days.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

29 Jun 2015 13:41:37
£2m. Really? This went from £5m to £4m now £2m. Wow we are poor in the selling market. Torres, Suarez and that's about it for decent prices in.

Be interested to know how much, back in the day, Gerrard to Chelsea was agreed for? £10m?

To put this into context. We sign unknown, untested Gomez for £3.5m then sell Uruguay international, player of the tournament a couple of years ago for £2m. With prem experience.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 14:01:23
Prem experience who nearly got relegated last season. Doesn't fit into style of play. Recovering from a injury where he lost a yard of pace he never had. In comparison to a homegrown talent with more potential and available to play two positions rather than one. Is stronger, faster and was scouted by more clubs than what was mentioned in the publicity of his transfer. No-one was bidding for Coates so it's either keep him and his wages or cut your losses and run

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 16:06:41
Gerrard to Chelsea was rumoured to be about ~£30m, if I remember correctly.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 17:42:47
I would agree with Soylent I think,
Worth remembering that £30 million then was an eye watering amount, Shevchenko was deemed one of the best strikers in the world(couldn't best Jerszy though ;) and moved for £30 million or so,

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 20:12:15
2M is nothing for `Coatsy`. No it didn't work out at LFC but you just know he going to end up captain at Milan or somewhere like that. Sunderland will be just a stepping stone move.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 11:58:39
West Ham, Borini and 8million according to the Guardian

Believable6 Unbelievable6

29 Jun 2015 12:55:09
I wonder if Borini's girlfriend will allow him to move this summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 22:44:31
AG - he's married so are you starting a rumour here ha ha!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 11:56:26
Gonzalo Higuain wants to join liverpool apparently. any truth to this eds? do we even have an interest in him?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any desire by him to join us at all.}

29 Jun 2015 12:31:28
Cant see it mate

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 12:48:45
top off my summer if he joined. can't see it though I would imagine arsenal or united stepping in with champions league and plenty of £££. be a blockbuster signing to feed off firmino tho

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 13:57:09
If or when we sell sterling got to put the money towards him or a decent striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that. Hopeless.}

29 Jun 2015 15:05:42
Maybe he's talking about Panini Trading Cards.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 15:31:30
I know one of the Eds said something like he's available and u do like him but very unlikely. Is that still the case Ed002?

Heard his release clause is like 67M

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks Edz

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Any release clause is of no consequence. Liverpool are concentrating their efforts elsewhere.}

29 Jun 2015 15:38:56
Yeah but it kinda does work a bit like that Ed
Some of the money we make from sales will go towards purchases

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - In which case all of the Sterling money went on Firmino. It really doesn't work that simply Chris.}

29 Jun 2015 17:06:15
Sorry Ed but for all the Sterling money to have gone on Firmino that would be saying there was no other money but there is so the reality is there was is a sum of money available to which some of the money made from sales will top up allowing you to buy players from said sum.
In a nutshell that's how it works

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - This is one of the reasons why we don't discuss money Chris - it is a simplistic view of how it works. Where would this other amount of money come from?

But in strict terms for those who still see money from any future sale of Sterling - there will be less there than already committed to on Firmino alone.}

29 Jun 2015 17:35:13
I think the eds point - and this is very simplistic I know - is that by the time we've paid all the many add-ons on the Firmino deal (VAT, Agents fees, sign-on fees, etc) then any money we get for Sterling will have already been effectively spent, especially when you appreciate that we'll owe 20% of any Sterling fee to QPR.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - And 5% to Sterling.}

29 Jun 2015 17:53:34
I know it's simplistic but it's also correct.
If Liverpool don't sell Sterling are you saying there is no money to buy players?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Until I know what the turnover and expenses are for the year ending tomorrow I have no way of telling. What I can say is that the owners have more than exhausted their FFP restricted input.}

29 Jun 2015 18:13:29
Regardless Ed there will be an amount of money available to buy players it may be very small, it may be dependent on sales, but there will be an amount and the sterling money or some of it will increase that amount.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - How will the Sterling money increase anything - it has long gone already - right now Liverpool have spent way, way, way more than they will get for Sterling. This is exactly why we don't discuss money and Liverpool's constant mismanagement of it. Remember the club is still being monitored over FFP.}

30 Jun 2015 02:23:42
I suspect this is going to add fuel to the fire but I was wondering with them paying so much for Firmino, could it be possible that FSG have relaxed their policy somewhat with regard to FFP in the light of EUFA relaxing the rules?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - what policy?

29 Jun 2015 18:36:31
Ok so it's already been spent and yet we will still buy more players so obviously there's still an amount and if Sterling hadn't been sold there would still have been an amount so the Sterling money was added to it.
Ed I am probably your greatest ally on here but you don't have to treat us all like morons and please stop worrying yourself over FFP it's as good as dead in the water

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No problem then Tris - so the clubs excluded already this season like Dinamo Moscow will get their places back in competition. They will be pleased.}

29 Jun 2015 19:23:01
Eds002 you should talk about the money side more often, just ignore the muppets

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 19:17:54
If we sold sterling for £40m is it likely we will only actually see about £25m of it eds?
Considering QPR and sterling get a quarter.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not doing math classes here any longer Mikey.}

29 Jun 2015 10:23:23
Eds is there truth in the Borini to West ham rumours please?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know of any interest in Borini from WHU.}

29 Jun 2015 06:45:53
Morning Eds.

I remember a few weeks ago you mentioned Walcott could be a target if Sterling were to leave. Any news? Did he sign a new contract?

Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - He has not signed a new deal yet but there are no updates regarding Liverpool.}

29 Jun 2015 06:45:53
Morning Eds.

I remember a few weeks ago you mentioned Walcott could be a target if Sterling were to leave. Any news? Did he sign a new contract?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No he hasn't signed yet and there is no news.}

29 Jun 2015 04:49:45
Have city given up on sterling eds? i mean they could buy delph or probably any player they want if it was English quota they were looking at? it has gone rather quiet.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - no.}

29 Jun 2015 09:22:36
We'll probably hear more after July 1st. That date seems to be getting banded about a bit on here for FFP reasons or something.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2015 10:44:52
What has Delph got to do with Sterling? Just because he's English? I'd say they'd prefer players that are actually good though, they don't need more Rodwells & Sinclairs.

Look out for Aberdeens Cammy Smith, he has been scouted for the past 18 months.
