hey eds. I rarely ever post. i'm more of a religious daily reader of the site. I no nobody and have no "connections" anywhere in the football world! but just taught i'd share, my mate was in Liverpool for the weekend with his missus. today they got the tour of anfield. and the guys who were giving the tour told him expect an announcement big tomorrow or tuesday. any ideas? could it just be about lallana or could it be something else? cheers

Believable14 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - I would expect it to be Lallana mate, sorry.}

No problem. i'm happy with lallana :) but was just thinkin their mite be a little hope of something else :) thanks for the reply

Agree0 Disagree0

You was right mate

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 21:36:49
Please ed, what is the true positions of things with Lallana? Is he confirmed ahead of the transfer window opening day? Also, with Liverpool now in the champions League, do you feel we have the quality in the midfield department to compete at this level? Candid view will be appreciated as always. Tnks

Believable14 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - our medicals take ages mate, just waiting on results seems to take days. We have a first 11 to compete with anyone, the issue is when we have injuries or suspensions we will struggle.}

29 Jun 2014 22:08:50
Ed I've read that we'll announce tomorrow? You reckon that's true?

Cheers, Scouserseb

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - probably.}

29 Jun 2014 22:19:36
Ed001, are you hopeful this is something that will be addressed? I mean Can and Lallana should both be competing for a first team place and be in the first team respectively. Additionally Lambert does provide cover and another option.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, we are already addressing it. The problem is that we can't buy too many players or the youth teamers won't get their chances to show if they are ready or not.}

Out of interest ed001, why do our medicals take longer than at other clubs?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they take longer than some because we are more thorough than the average.}

Okey, good stuff! Do you rate Lallana mate?

Cheers for a quick reply Ed!

Scouserseb

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, I think he is a very technically good player. He has excellent acceleration, which allows him to glide past players in a similar way to Dembele does at Spurs.}

I agree mate! I'm very happy that we're signing him! I reckon that he'll only get better working with Brendan! He's a typical "BR" player according to me!

Scouserseb

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm chuffed with this signing. Just a couple more purchases for the defence & a wide attacker & that should be it. Sanchez is the dream. but I'm not believing any rumours until I see him holding aloft a scarf on the turf of Anfield :-)

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 20:58:38
Eds, I've heard that AM are willing to sell Arda Turan to fund the purchase of Santi Cazorla. Do LFC still have any interest in him?

Believable16 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - not since we decided against signing before moving there, that I am aware of, have we had any interest in him. Be a nice story if we did buy him though, as he is such a big Liverpool fan.}

Thanks for the quick reply Ed001. I'd love it if we signed him up. I've had this vision for a while that he'll end up at LFC.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 22:35:12
I like him but I don't think he has enough pace.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ah! The Arda Turan rumour. Our transfer season is now on. :)

Agree1 Disagree0

Arda turan is very injury prone of late I don't think we could take a chance on him he be more on injury table than the field imo.but he is a decent player.

Eds is there any truth that we have received a 10m bid for Borini from Sunderland?

Believable10 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I don't know whether it is a rehash of an old story or not. I am still waiting for someone to get back to me on that. Hard to tell as amounts they mention are never reliable in reports, so you can't use them as a guide. Certainly Sunderland have not given up on signing him yet.}

I like Borini and he seems he would want to stay but if we could get £12.5 million for him from Sunderland it would be best to let him go. I know that means if Suarez goes it leaves us short but Sterling seemed to relish playing up front last year when he got his chance and get all stops out to sign Sanchez.

Agree2 Disagree1

So Borini for Origi, in a round about way? Borini should allow the move back to Sunderland, so he can play regularly and improve his prospects for Euro 2016. He'll rarely see a game w/ Suarez, Sturridge and now Lambert. Can't see both Borini and Origi being at Anfield in October.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 18:20:51
Hi Eds, do we still have any interest in Will Hughes and Deli Alli? Thanks.

Believable11 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

If you don't mind me asking ed, who do you think is a better prospect? Conaidering they play in a similar position and are at a smiliar age.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - defo Alli, light years between them mate. He is a class above.}

I posted on here a little while back saying we were in talks with MK Dons over Alli; I didn't want to say it at the time (but I will now Ed001 has said he is the better player).

My mate has seen him at various levels and when I asked him how he compared to Henderson he said he already has better control and is more skillful - now I'm not digging at Henderson who I think is an important player for us and also Alli is playing league 1 but that's how highly my mate rates him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why compare him with Hendo in the first place? They aren't the same kind of player at all.}

Man U now interested in Del Ali

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they have always been interested in him.}

I'll surely stream mk dons'games to check him out provided he is still playing for them next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the time Ed I knew nothing about him; purely compared him against a couple of players we already have; I know not the best way to do things.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ok, I get that.}

29 Jun 2014 16:30:17
Do we hold an interest in Iker Muniain and if so is it true he has a £36 million release clause?

Believable4 Unbelievable36

29 Jun 2014 16:45:10
We have had an interest in the past. I am not so sure about the release clause but with that kind of money, would you want a very unreliable player and man?

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Jun 2014 16:47:47
If we do, now would be the time to buy him as he only has 12 months left on his contract.

Agree3 Disagree0

Im not saying we should buy him I just read a report saying we are watching him closely.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jun 2014 15:35:39
Was told by a old man city fan who is also a scout and has very close ties to man city that Micah Richards is anfield bound. I argued the point that I don't think he is good enough or fit enough for us but he was adamant about it. I know others have posted about him and the opinions of other posters. Attitude questionable but maybe rodgers can do something with him, if it is true

Believable14 Unbelievable91

I know one of the Eds isn't fond of Richards' attitude, but if he's willing to fight for a spot, why wouldn't he have a look in at City? Same problem with Bertrand. Does he improve our squad? Tentatively, I say yes, but there are other better (even cheaper) options out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would guesstimate that after a year on the bench at City and NO England career his attitude may have changed for the better.

Eds,

-Rumor regarding DAgger leaving seems gone quiet right now. Do u expect him move? only then we will sign replacement in Lovren?

-Is LFC still keeping tabs for Kyriakos Papadoupolos? IF we can get him under 15M then LFC should go for him.

-Which 1 is more likely to come to LFC Shaqiri or Alexis Sanchez?

-I heard if we cannot agree deal with Moreno, we will go for Marcelo. Is it true?

tqvm eds.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - I expect Agger to stay, though he will not be first choice.

I am told we are no longer interested in him.

Shaqiri is more likely.

Not that I am aware of. Highly unlikely Madrid will let Marcelo leave.}

The Moreno deal will be completed very shortly.

Agree3 Disagree3

The Moreno deal is dead BigD? His club has said so and it's pretty much been confirmed on here.

Agree1 Disagree3

The deal is not dead just yet its the case of Liverpool paying an extra £3 million that will seal the deal, the player is keen on the move.

U just wait and see Dezmondo.

Agree4 Disagree2

Fair enough BigD, respect to you if we do get him. let's wait and see.

Agree3 Disagree1

29 Jun 2014 19:33:47
Agger is staying because there's no interested party right?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - more because he doesn't want to go.}

Agger has YNWA on his knuckles that'll do for me. arguably our best defender IF played week in week out.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 15:00:25
Hi eds do we hold an interest in Pedro and could he be part of the Suarez deal?

Believable2 Unbelievable18

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any chance of that happening.}

29 Jun 2014 14:16:22
Hi eds do u kno when the players will report back for pre season? And when suarez will be expected to return to Liverpool if he does?

Abbas lfc

Believable8 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I think it is July 2nd to the first question and I don't know to the second.}

29 Jun 2014 14:01:40
Hi eds, has Guillermo Ochoa signed for Real Sociedad? A friend said it to me but I havnt seen any mention of it in the media. It would make sense considering Bravo moved to Barca. Thanks

Believable10 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - he hasn't signed for anyone yet mate. There is even a guy in France, who supports his current club Ajaccio, who has put everything he owns up for sale online in an attempt to raise the money to give him a new contract. So, if anyone is interested in buying a French family, they know just what to do......}

29 Jun 2014 14:28:37
How is his wife? I do like the idea of a mature French lady.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - is that the wrinkles or facial hair that attracts you?}

29 Jun 2014 15:23:22
Oh right thanks ed001, i'm sure he can ask for an extra few thousand every week now considering his WC performance!

Agree1 Disagree0

Mature ladies are very experienced Ed001. And no, I don't mean someone as old as you mate ;)

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - experience comes with age mate....}

I sensing a Philosophical touch Ed001?

You alright buddy?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh, someone's touched alright!

Channeling Yogi Berra perhaps? "It's like deja vu all over again"

Ochoa's worth far more than that man could offer, I'd imagine. He played well today, unfortunate Netherlands had that penalty or he probably would have outplayed their keeper when it went to PKs. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up (if he goes anywhere at all).

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 13:46:45
Hi eds and reds, I have a question I am a bit confused now with the Sanchez situation has the bid from arsenal been accepted or not? I personally think if we can not replace Suarez with Sanchez then we should probably think of keeping Suarez because we need to replace him with a person who has the same or similar footballing abilities. What do you all think? Ed001 how is your daughter and what is your thought on Suarez's replacement?
Hibsylfc

Believable13 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any bid from Arsenal for him, sorry. I don't know anything about that.
My daughter is good thanks, just looking forward to her summer hols now. As for replacing Suarez, Sanchez would be fine, or not replacing him at all would be fine by me. I really have gone past caring about him at all.}

29 Jun 2014 13:20:24
Ed001 who are we looking at for left back now moreno seems not to be a option
Also if we are targeting a winger Depay is a young talent same with Cuadrado or is it world cup fever

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - other than Bertrand, we seem to have stepped back on that front for now. Possibly because our target is still playing in the World Cup.
Cuadrado is likely to end up at Barca, I don't know anything regarding Depay at all sorry.}

29 Jun 2014 13:36:05
Who is our target ed001? The Swiss or argentine?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how do you know I don't mean Vertonghen, Marcelo, Blind etc? I was just pointing out that it has all gone a bit quiet, so maybe it could be one of them.}

29 Jun 2014 14:03:28
I think you mean Rojo Ed, I really I hope he is our main LB target. He is quality and better than Moreno in my eyes. Never over confident though when Barca are sniffing also.

Agree1 Disagree0

No good news so ed haha rather not try sign Bertrand and wait for other options although it is hard to get quality full backs these days

Agree1 Disagree0

Adrianp74 he is swiss and he means Rodriguez, would I be right saying that ed01.

Agree2 Disagree0

I know we were interesting in Hector Moreno, but. yeah. And if we sign any of the three Ed001 mentioned or Rodriguez OR Rojo, we've bought a star! Bertrand. not convinced, but anything's an improvement over Cissokho

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello eds,

2 things if like to bring up. First one is sterling and Real Madrid, you told us that real have watched sterling and are interested but do you think that sterling would want to go and would we allow it?

Secondly I tried to use the search function to search for sterling but as my phone didn't load the page fast enough, I accidentally clicked on one of the ads over the search bar. Anyway when I did the link took me to the scumswebsite, not sure if you are aware or if there is anything you can do about ads but wouldn't like to think that they are profiting in any way from your site.

Cheers eds

Believable8 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - not yet and not yet.
I take it you mean the S*n? If so could you tell me which link? Because one thing I have made clear to ALL the advertisers is that there can be no links whatsoever to that filthy rag on our sites. All of them agreed to that, so they have no excuse. I want to know who it is I have to tear a few strips off and make sure that can never happen again.}

Fair play ed what a response

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would rather give up than give that piece of filth any advertising.}

I'm not sure which one it was to be honest ed because like I said I pressed it by mistake. Yes I was referring to the s*n mate, it took me to s*n motors. Il have a look later on to see if I can find it. It was one of the 5 images right above the search bar mate if that helps.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I will figure it out, then they will be told to either remove any ads for the rag on our sites or we won't run any of their ads any longer.}

No probs mate, sorry if it seems like I'm creating work for you eds just thought it might be of interest to you that's all.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you did the right thing mate, I don't want anything to do with them at all. I really appreciate you letting me know.}

29 Jun 2014 11:49:41
Hi ED, can you please us view on defenders, we have not signed any defenders and clearly is the area we need to strengthen. Players linked- michah Richards? Lovren? Ashley cole? Marcos rojo?, be greatful for some answers?

Believable10 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - no, we want but so do many, no, we did show interest but it seems to have been dropped for now.}

29 Jun 2014 10:45:51
Ed002,
With u saying countless times that u won't discuss money I assume transfers are very complex, lots of boxes need ticking and lots of people get a slice of fees. Just wondering if u could give a basic example of how many people are usually involved in a transfer?
Thanks ed

Believable14 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - As for transfer fees, what is paid by the buying club would typically include:
(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this window).
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived).

What is paid by the selling club would typically include:
(a) If the player is under 24, a Solidarity contribution paid to his previous clubs responsible for his training - this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(b) Any monies owed to the player if he did not request a transfer – again this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(c) Any monies owed to the player in terms of his contract (typically outstanding owed wages (not future wages) and bonuses).

Liverpool pay the players relocation fees for 6 months after they sign so rent/mortgage not bad

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the reply ed. Really appreciate you taking the time to go into so much detail and understand why so many people are so far off the mark regarding true costs. It really is seriously complex!
thanks again ed

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome, man.}

(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .

What do you mean you have a super agent- that line always cracks me up.

Hello Eds

Have Madrid actually been watching Sterling or is this the media creating a frenzy due to use seemingly selling one of our best players to the monster that are Madrid or barca.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - they have been watching him, yes.}

And maybe Sterlings advisors helping to plant stories? Don't think that juicy new contract has been signed yet and there's all this talk of Sanchez, Shaqiri & Markovich.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sterling will be getting game time in a Liverpool shirt, that's for sure!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 10:29:51
Apparently Iturbe is going to be leaving Verona, where do the eds think he'll end up? I know Liverpool were linked a while back, not saying he'll come just interested to know eds views!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Verona bought him this summer for the purposes of profiteering - and we cannot discuss a little side deal that has been agreed. This has driven Napoli and Fiorentina out of any chance of buying the player. Roma, Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea have made it clear they are interested - and efforts have been made to try and get Manchester City, Barcelona and other clubs interested so they can sell to the highest bidder. Generally clubs are not interested in auctions.}

When you say profeteering, does that mean they bought a young player, knowing his value would increase just to sell on? Seems risky

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 10:02:58
Hi eds Charles Aranguiz of Chile had looked really lively this World Cup. Do you know of any interest in him moving from Internacional?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - one of the Italian clubs were close to picking him up before the World Cup, I think it was Udinese off the top of my head, but that could be wrong.}

I thought Udinese already owned him? Bought him in January and loaned him out to a Brazilian club till summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that could be it mate, thanks. I didn't think it was quite that long ago, but now you have said it, it sounds correct. It is difficult to be sure, as the more I am thinking about it, the more I seem to remember only half of him was acquired, by Udinese. So I am not actually sure who owns the other half!}

29 Jun 2014 09:40:09
Do yo know if we have submitted a bid for Divock Origi?
If so was it accepted?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

I've tried but all I can find is saying we are interested.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So that is what it is.}

29 Jun 2014 10:47:50
So has no bid been made?

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Jun 2014 06:23:55
Ed002 with your knowledge were do u see sanchez ending up of corse I would love Liverpool to do some sort of swap deal with suarez but again would he come to us cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate Mike. Sorry.}

29 Jun 2014 09:38:19
Reports this morning have said that Barca have or are about to bid just 30m plus Sanchez for LS. They see it as a 60m package.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just ignore the money - there is little point in explaining as it will confuse and upset people.}

Would happily take 30 mil + sanchez, easily same standard if not better than suarez. Definitely less hassle and likely to play more games.

Agree1 Disagree5

29 Jun 2014 10:10:16
Whether it's true or not, why would Sanchez + £30m be a bad offer? He's one of the worlds best but has managed to get himself banned every full season he's been here! £60m package is huge considering how long he's going to be out and the strong possibility he will do it again. He's only worth £100m + when he's behaving, he doesn't do that so he's not worth as much as we'd like to get for him. We wouldn't want to buy a player who spends a third of the season out injured for £80 - £100m. He's lowered his value all by himself, not LFC or Barca's fault, it's Luis' fault

Agree3 Disagree1

I would take that sort of deal also. Ed how does it work when for example a player is on World Cup duty, can his club offer him in a part exchange deal without him knowing or does the player need to be notified first?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - His representatives will be aware of it, and they would give a yes or no.}

If that deals on the table we should grab it with both hands
and move on,
Brendan's got enough on his plate without the hassle this fiasco has brought to the club

Agree1 Disagree0

No-one is bigger than Liverpool football club I would take 40 million and sanchez, suarez has become libility great player but not right in the head NEEDS HELP.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2014 11:49:36
no probs Ed002 thought u may say that. do u no of any imnent bid including sanchez I for one wouldn't be to fussed about the money as long as we get sanchez think he is just as goo as suarez and will prove that for a prem team and I think he is made for brendon Rodgers and the way we play will only make him even better

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to speculate about timing of bids Mike. The interest from elsewhere in Sanchez is serious.}

29 Jun 2014 06:22:58
Ed002, do you know if the Origi rumours are true? Thanks.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not signed him as has been suggested.}

29 Jun 2014 06:22:42
Ed002, do you know if there is any truth in the reports that Arsenal have bid for Sánchez? Thanks.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

29 Jun 2014 00:20:10
Edd002 can.i.ask mate if discussions of a possible sale of suarez to barca.have actully begun?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - His representatives have been pretty relentless in talking with clubs, including Barcelona, all year.}

29 Jun 2014 09:54:32
Ed does his representatives need permission off Liverpool to speak to others? Or can any representatives speak to any club, any time?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Any club, any time.}
