I'm a landlord for Lfc & Efc mainly for the younger players but have 2 main squad player living in my properties in Woolton Liverpool. A certain Vincenzo D'llopItos assistant clauro ( quite fit ) and another young girl viewed 2 premises of mine in Sefton Park and Woolton Monday afternoon. Another viewing has been arranged this Monday. They never mentioned names but take it there regents for either Suarez or Coates is moving to a bigger property.

That's G. Ramirez agent. Just found out.

This doesnt even make sense !

What???

Something something rumour something something credible

Greatest. Rumour. Ever.

So your rumour is that suarez or coates might be moving to a bigger house, and the award for most pointless post of the day goes to...

They are just two seamstresses mate

After missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson, Liverpool will turn their attention to Fulham duo Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey to bolster their attacking options

Or (if you believe The Mirror) BR will turn his attention to Mark Davies at Bolton??

If anyone was in any doubt that the press are clueless about our potential targets, this proves it. Why don't they just print every possible player name, so that way they're bound to be right!

Hope not

Oh God not Dempsey again! After 2 years we haven't signed him so why now?

Would take Dembele, not Dempsey though, decent player but no value in it long term

F*** everybody who hates on Clint Dempsey

Dos santos is going to Spain please stop with the lfc rumours.Andy mac

Who in christs name would link us to him. he isn't fit to lick gerrards boots clean

glyfi to spurs is complete. will be announced on tuesday. It looks like with returning players and the fact BR needs to assess what he has, it is likely the summer will see 2 signings (ramirez included and potentially Dempsey) and then use the first half of the season to assess, going into the Jan transfer market if needed. you heard it here first.

I'd take ramirez but dempsey, definate NO NO, he's getting old and isn't worth the transfer fee.

Why would Liverpool do that? A 2 year old could tell you Liverpool need a striker and right winger!

Glyfi not yet a spurs player and vargas to the kop potentially but not 100% 3 signings for BR traore , vargas ,moses

It's being so cheerful that keeps you going pal!!

If Gylfi's signed for Spurs why wait until Tuesday to announce it? Clearly he can't sign until 1st of July but why not just say tonight "we've agreed terms and a fee"?

29 Jun 2012 21:22:37
Evening eds fellow reds , I'm away all weekend as my daughter is in a dance completion so I. Won't be on here , but do you expect any news on new player on Sunday july1st .cheers psv {Ed001's Note - I don't expect anything to break then, no. Good luck to your daughter, I hope she wins.}

Not in Vegas by any chance ?

Ed001, you're such a fantastic person. I really liked your gesture there.

Ramirez will sign for us, will hear something on sunday about it. Also victor moses looks set to sign for about 7m. This will probably be it for summer signings, but one more player could be brought in!
Exciting times are ahead under BR!!

The Scout

You seem to think you know quite a bit scout but reality is you know nothing do you ?!?

What about a bloody striker ?

Those signings aren't very exciting

Yes, they are. If it were true. Sounds like a shot in the dark rumour to me - latest 'most likely', on the earliest date possible, hoping to get there first. Don't know of any major announcements on a Sunday, but it would be nice...

Raised Eyebrow

And how do you know this?

29 Jun 2012 20:55:38
Liverpool looking to sign Victor Moses from Wigan. Junior Hoilet from Blackburn, Joe Allen from Swansea and a big money move Jan Klass Huntelaar. Not many players expected to leave other than Aquilani and Spearing.

Old Greg

We can't buy off Swansea.

Joe Allen def out can't sign players from Swansea or don't you know that!!

Clearly bulls*** Hoillet went to Germany about a month ago

Are these signings any better than last seasons?

Junior hoilett went to monchegladbach (or however u spell it) u talk tripe

We can't sign Allen, Hoillet is going to Moenchengladbach and there is no interest in Klaas Jan Huntelaar (thankfully).

I like how that whenever there is a rumour on twitter (Allen) then all over a sudden there are a lot of people that 'know' they are coming

U live in glen caraig old greg?

Cant see it tbh old greg... Canne buy of swansea... However ... I do think brendan rodgers will do good business as he has a fantastic abillity to spot talent where others missed it and i think that any signing he makes this summer will only be better for liverpool football club... And rodgers will bring out the best in them.. I like this man the more i see him... Never get bored of his interviews and know them almost word perfectly... And what i like most about him what i learned from studying his time at swansea ... What he says he means and has the hunger and desire to follow throygh with what he says... BRENDAN YNWA

Victor moses , he has scored 20 goals in 147 games , lifetime results ! i dont call that a good striker ?? why are we interested in that ??

Moses is a winger

We could buy Allen, if, & it would be a huge if! Laudrup didn't want him! I don't even know if our agreement with Swansea would change if one of their players put in a transfer request? Maybe an ed knows more about that? RedAnt {Ed002's Note - To be honest, if Liverpool have shaken hands with Swansea and said we will not make a pitch for any players then I would expect the club to honour that agreement.}

{Ed022's Note - Player Profile update on Gaston Ramirez. You all know who he is so doesn't need much introduction. This profile covers him as a player (his strengths and weaknesses etc) and where he will likely end up. This profile also covers how strong Liverpool's interest is in him etc. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Always up in the task

Great profile Ed022, I've watched Ramirez a few times and he really does have a ridiculous amount of talent, I must say though on a few occasions it seems as if he only puts in a half arsed performance, although that still conjures up some genius moves. Its a little disappointing with your assessment though as far as more effort maybe being put into signing him if Suarez was to leave - imagine Ramirez and Suarez playing together for the Reds, it would be lethal! {Ed022's Note - I understand it's disappointing but I wont lie to make the profile more attractive mate. I would love to see them both play together, but the chances seem slim.}

Why cant we ever have 2 world class strikers at the same time, 18 months ago it was looking like suarez was going to link up with torres. If suarez goes we need 2 strikers.
Andrew

My Uncle works in turin and told me today that the news in Italy is that we have signed Gaston Ramirez for 19 million! If you don't believe me then watch sly news on sunday and there will be news on Ramirez joining us.

YNWA

Your uncle in Italy you must have been up all night thinking this up

Lets be honest now, your uncle didnt tell you that did he

gareth

In fact he does live in Italy. He has set up a language school with 2 people, called Manuel and Jennifer. He also taught an ex-priministers son a while back. He has a season ticket with Juve and that is the reason why he is interested in Ramirez because he is a target of juve.

Don't believe. He didnt even leave his name so on the off chance if he was right he could of claimed a little credibility.

RAH, YNWA

Ok we believe you. but if this turns out to be the utter BS I expect please promise to go away and never post again,

1st off we haven't signed him because we couldn't till the 1st of July but if we do why do we have to wait till Sunday to have it announced?

Well i live in liverpool and that doesn't mean i know all of the outgoings and ingoings. honestly. you know its crap when people say that

I an on vaication on italy, why havent i heard anything!

Iam saying that the news in Turin is that we are the closest to signing him. And sunday is the 1st of july so therefore we will be able to sign him then

29 Jun 2012 20:00:58
Hi Eds, A while back there was talk of us being linked with Matias Suarez ,Is there still an interest ?.Cheers ant {Ed022's Note - There is still an interest yes.}

Hope we get him instead Lacina Traore or Sturidge

29 Jun 2012 19:44:23
Gastonn Ramirez has achieved his goal of securing a move to a "big club" this summer, with Liverpool reportedly signing the Uruguay international for £20 million.

Are Liverpool loaning him out to a big club then?

From the Echo recycled via the Express and still not true!

29 Jun 2012 19:18:20
Heard we might be moving for Fernando Cavenaghi. We were linked with him several years ago when he played for Bordeuax. Just been released from River Plate. 29 years old but scored 19 goals last season in the league. On a free I think he could a good deal to add some depth to strikers. Just thought i'd let you know.

Willster :)

Hold on he was playing in the second division of argentine football. no thanks.

29 Jun 2012 19:07:03
Club Atlético River Plate (Argentine club) want Sebastian Coates. (via reliable journalist from Uruguay, Robert Moar)

Is this true ed's?

Matt {Ed001's Note - I am sure they do, but it matters little, they want Messi too....}

Ok, haha and all that, but do you think they will try and buy him? {Ed022's Note - No.}

He also said they would be "in utopia" if they got him. Unlikely.

Hı eds a quıck questıon... Nıco Gaıtıan.. I read an artıcle a whıle back suggestıng he had agreed a deal ın prıncıple and sıgned for unıted(scum) do u know ıf ıts true? would ıt be possıble for Lıverpool to swoop ın? He could be the next bıg thıng ın my opınıon please shed some lıght on ıt

Nath {Ed001's Note - they were certainly interested, but no move was agreed that I am aware of. I very much doubt we would swoop in, not sure why we would even want another left winger to stop Sterling having a chance.}

Good to know we Will continue leting Sterling have a go

29 Jun 2012 18:37:29
Hi eds/macca. How comes my queries never get posted. If this gets posted then can you please share some news about siggi. Is sly a good source to believe and why has siggi chosen spurs over us? (is it for money like people said)
Thank you {Ed001's Note - Sly are not a good source and he never chose them over us, we never met Hoffenheim's asking price.}

What im struggling to understand is why we didnt agree a fee , did r brendans opinion of glyfi change?.....pedro

29 Jun 2012 18:24:34
Eds, Gio Dos Santos leaving Olympic squad to sign for an unnamed club, any chance LFC could be his destination?

Irish Red {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, last I heard he was talking to an Iberian club, but that was a while back.}

29 Jun 2012 18:40:03
right, it might sound like the usual bul***it but i have an uncle in ONTARIO and he did mention he heard on a local sports radio station that when HOILETT returns to the uk nxt week frm visiting family he will talk to blackburn with their offer plus other european clubs including us about his future. do you know anything of this and is rodgers interested?

He has already signed for Borussia MG!

No he hasnt...he need more wages and that move fell through.....

My brother took a tour at anfield today,he was told by the tour guide that we are staying at anfield.the plan is to add 6k-7k on the main stand and 5k-6k on the kop which will still be one tier. Zaydan123

Wow that's a real news flash! Only heard it on radio Merseyside 2 days ago!

Wow, 56 - 58k capacity; what an astounding lack of ambition if this is true!
So we are officially a smaller club than Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham & Newcastle, all of whom have or are expepanding to 60k?

If this happens then in 10 years we will be in the same boat; looking at a new ground again.

Thought one of the criteria the new owners had to meet in order to purchase the club was providing a stadium of at least 60k?

No doubt I'll get slaughtered for not wearing rose tinted glasses by those fans who are happy for mediocrity, or by those obsessives who think you should never criticise anything to do with LFC. {Ed005's Note - Goodness me, so you are saying just because a club has a bigger stadium than another it means they are a bigger club? How silly mate!! It isn't a lack of ambition 56-58k - it's the biggest we could go with Anfield but adding new executive boxes and a revamped area and stadium we'd be raking in the benefits from increased revenue. And the owners had no new criteria to meet. Plus, a flipping capacity 2k short of 60k and you throw a strop? Honestly, this whole idea that building a new stadium makes things all better is a total myth as JWH said. Liverpool have a massive opportunity in the global commercial market - and in the next few years if we take advantage of it and fulfil the potential we have there the need for a new stadium would get less and less and less. Look at Arsenal - they built the Emirates and are just about breaking even - and that's having sold Nasri and Fabregas raking in like £60m - without the transfer money they'd be losing bagfuls of money.}

ED005 Quality... Take a bow son, take a bow!! RedAnt

Yeah lets build a 70k stadium just run ourselves into debt have no money to buy players just to have ground half empty because money is being sucked out for repayments all to look good in front of the neighbours.Tommy Irish Red.

Ramirez 19mil(+add ons) will be confirmed at the beginning of next month. Liverpool had a bid of 15mil rejected earlier this week but pressed forward with negotiations, after losing out to Tottenham in the race for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Rodgers did have a verbal agreement with Sigurdsson and was confident of getting his man. However during negotiations there was a hold up over the wages with Rodgers not prepared to pay more than double the agreed amount Sigurdsson was goin to get at Swansea.

His agent then met with officials at Tottenham who agreed to meet his wage demands and then went back to Liverpool to see if they would now change their stance and pay up.

Rodgers decided to make a slighlty improved take it or leave it offer and it is understood Sigurdsson has chosen to leave it in favour of a more lucrative package at Tottenham.

Liverpool are now understood to be looking at Wigan starlet Victor Moses and Manchester City's Adam Johnson. However, with strong interest for both players from a number of premier league clubs , they face a battle to get their targets.

Jesus not Moses

Glad we did not sign the Icelandic ! He is motivated by money not the sort of player needed at this club neither is Adam Johnson bad attitude and English mentality ! By that he thinks he is better than he is ! Sorry but that's the way I see it ! FSG have got money glad to see they are not gonna waste it anymore ! I am right behind them !

Doesn't say much for his so called relationship with Brendan.

If this is true about Sig then I am encouraged about the way BR and LFC have handled it.
Hop

A verbal agreement isn't worth the paper it's printed on! I stole that from Sam Goldwyn!

What can't speak can't lie,hey Rodders!

Hi eds... I heard a rumour there that we might be looking at former rangers captain steve davis on a free transfer ... What you think eds? Ps love your site fantastic {Ed001's Note - not a chance, he is not good enough.}

And jay spearing is.steve davis is twice the player.

Ed 001, while your on, what do you make of the whole sigurddsson issue, do you think it's the club dragging their heels or just another greedy player? {Ed001's Note - it is just the club not willing to pay over the odds to Hoffenheim. They asked for a much higher fee than the one they had agreed with Swansea.}

29 Jun 2012 17:59:19
Hi Eds,
Just heard that we have signed Gaston Ramierez from Bologna for £20 million pounds. Can u shed any light on this.
Great Site by the way. Keep up the good work. {Ed022's Note - Not true I'm afraid. There is a profile update on the way to give everyone the latest with him.}

Are u serious ed? {Ed022's Note - I am serious 'bro'. www.player-profiles.co.uk - look for yourself.}

I can shed light on it it's news from daily express mate

29 Jun 2012 17:07:01
Hi eds liverpool are in talks with milan about zlatan ibrahimavic and so far all is going well. Heard this from my mate when i was at his wedding in milan who is a physio at the club.. Liverpool have not yet spoken to zlatan but negotians with the italian giants seem to be working in the favour of liverpool {Ed002's Note - Jolly good.}

If thats true i'll eat my ass with a spoon !!

Haha really ? Bs mate

Why even bother

Haha good joke!!

Ridiculous.. going from one of the top clubs in Europe who have Champions League football to a mid table team lucky to be in any form of european competition, where do you people get off..

Surely liverpool couldn't sign anyone with such a large nose, Phil tommo will be well gutted if we have a new pinnochio

Haha you have to laugh. dear me.

Jordan

Lol bet some person will say "we don't need him we have Carroll" anyway

Is your mate a comidian?

I really dont get why people do this

If it was jolly I would no about it Ed.

Jolly Red

All i can say is LOL !! Man City interested and he turned them down and y shud he sign 4 us? though i wud love him!!

LOL....just lol

Love these rumours...mates wedding,milan,zlatan even though the club havent spoken to him,its all being done behind the players back..

Keep off the glue son!

How much did you have to drink at your mates wedding.

Ibrahimovic, overrated, never performs against English opposition, stay at Juve! {Ed022's Note - ...}

We dont need him, we have carroll.

I think BR's strategy is clearly to shoot for a starting 11 of ponytails. Bring back the Greek and go all out for Jonas from Newcastle as well. Sorry Skrtel, Shelvey, and Reina but you don't fit it at the new Anfield...

Love these insane rumors.

I love eds reply ha ha ha ha

I really hope this is not true. This guy is an absolute person and would hate to see him at the club.

If ever there is a reason for registered users it's this...

Richards

We dont need him , we have Corroll, seriously, ha ha

Hope not, one of the most if not the most overrated players ever

No Carroll would get jealous of his hair:L

Ibrahimavic has far to big an ego to go to a club without Champions League football.

When I read Zlatan Ibrahimovic, I had my eyebrows raised. When I read negotiations going well, I started laughing & was sure that, there'd be many comments in this post. He's probably the only tall player I like. At least a hundred times better than donkey Carroll.

SUMON VAI

I wanna see him come now just to see how someone would eat their ass with a spoon ;-)

R u out of ur mind he ll not be coming to lfc mate

Hi ed's just passing on what I heard, I work for Wigan as part of the electrical maintenance team, and circulating round the club is that victor moses is attracting interest a lot. Aparently Chelsea offered a bid and Wigans Suits believed it to be too low, however one of the massouers told me that he was giving treatment to Conor Salmon and he told him that Moses will be a Liverpool player by the end of July. Rodgers has spoken with Moses's agent and all looks good so far!

Cheers Ed's Great Site Keep Up The Good Work

So u work at Wigan and supply electrical goods to Liverpool? U must be busy. Or have to much time on ur hands to make up rumours.....

Where does it say he supplies electrical goods to Liverpool?

Maintenance guys and Masseurs... This sounds like a movie I WOULDN'T want to see. Not that there's anything wrong with it, though.

Canadian Fan

Didn't God used to play for us? Why not Moses? :)
kidmillions

Seems suspiciously familiar to the security supplier at anfield rumour from earlier. Maybe they work for the same company. Some people are just either bored or lonely.

Indeed electricians trying to con'fuse' us by 'circulating' rumours and a trusty masseur adding 'heat' to the debate

MooseCMbelfast

Did you hear this after touching some live cabling with damp hands?

...I think he's got his 'wires crossed'...I'll quit now...

MooseCMbelfast

Victor moses has scored 20 goals in 147 games lifetime total , is he really the goal scoring machine that LFC needs ? i think not , big mistake if its true !!

Stop reading the sun!FOOL!by the way i saw it on the bbc gossip column.jonny m

Cool story bro.

29 Jun 2012 16:05:39
eds , with lavezzi just about being a psg player could napoli turn there attention to gaston ramirez ? would love him to come to liverpool but cant see it myself .

thanks

trev d {Ed002's Note - Napoli have already had discussions with Bologna about Ramirez and Gaitan is the other player being looked at. I think they could also hit the South American market again.}

Thanks for the reply ed 02 , do you have any idea which south american players would be of intrest ?

trev d {Ed002's Note - I have some details somewhere - I will dig it out when time allows.}

Gaitan is being looked at by who {Ed002's Note - Napoli of course.}

More south amerians less english thanks

29 Jun 2012 15:45:07
Hi eds do you think that Moses will be between us and Chelsea? I like the player when he runs at defenders. Also is there any chance of a profile on him?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I'll ask about a profile. Chelsea made a bid that failed to amuse Whelan. I suspect a bid of £8M or £7M and the loan of a fringe player might swing it.}

S**t player when considering spurs are getting sig for 7-8m marin went to chelski for 8m and arsenal got podolski and giroud for 12m

I think they are doing a profile on him

Moses lifetime goals scored is 20 for 147 games , i think its a bad record for a second striker ? hes not the goal machine the reds need

"S**t player when considering spurs are getting sig for 7-8m marin went to chelski for 8m and arsenal got podolski and giroud for 12m"

That is such an incredibly relevant, well thought out and insightful post. I'm so glad you took the time.

29 Jun 2012 15:36:09
Eds,Have liverpool ever scouted Renato Augusto..4 me he seems better than sig and ramirez ,i may b wrong though.is he available?could he be an option for Liverpool?
YNWA! {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been flirting with Renato Augusto since the January 2009 window. He is certainly very good and can play as a winger or attacking midfield player. I understand that he is the German based player the club were considering before his operation last October, and it is likely that Leverkusen will listen to offers in the summer as injury free season are rare for the player.}

Nice work ed002. I watch him regularly and he is a class player when not injured...

Just what we need another sick note!

29 Jun 2012 15:15:27
This is a feeling not a rumour but i think a bid for McCarthy from Wigan might be on the cards. What are the chances? {Ed002's Note - People have previously been put off by the asking price. Perhaps.}

I wouldnt give dave whelan the steam off my penguin.

trev d

And the fact that he is completely useless as a player

Eds i defo did not say penguin ;)

trev d

Completely useless?? You obv don't play footy mate... Give your head a wobble.

Shmickles

Hi I work for a company who provides security equipment to anfield, I was dropping off some headsets today and I heard some suits talking about vargas deal is nearly done and dusted
Just passing on what's I heard

Duracell Eddie

Thank you! That's what this page is all about, not the insistent moaning!

Drigan

Don't think your employers will be supplying equipment for long if their employees can't keep quiet, and discreet

Now thats what I call a rumour....!

Were they nice suits? The rest of the story is nonsense.

This is why I Love this site!!
How do people have time to make this stuff up?

Do these suits have names ?

GET REAL

If this is true then fair enough but if its a lie, then seriously why be so pathetic and make up something, losers do that

Yeah the executives always discuss transfer plans in front of contractors

Funny isn't it, the first sight of a high visibility vest & hard hat ...& those execs just start chattin' about transfers (loudly)

People must think that all Liverpool staff are at Anfield everyday ? How small minded ? Just proves they know nothing and have probably never set foot in the ground ! All the clubs dealings off the pitch are done as far away from Anfield as possible ? Change your stories please ! I work at Anfield and have heard nothing ! because the powers that be are not there until match day! Enough said

What sort of security firm hires people who can't keep their mouths shut ?

29 Jun 2012 13:09:00
Seydou Keita has said that he will not be going to anfield. I dont know how much intrest we had or anything but i hadnt really heard much about it. Anyway he said he isnt coming to anfield

Cheers , Zincho

Another miss

I think you have to shoot to miss.

Not necessary a miss maybe he wont be moving anywhere but yes he will not be joining us so if you want to you can call it a miss

Cheers , Zincho

Yeap, Another miss

Thank god, he's crap, never impressed me once

29 Jun 2012 13:08:50
Liverpool are set to miss out on imposing striker Lacina Traore, who is set to join Anzhi Makhachkala.

We are NOT missing out. We didnt want him in the first place!! This is the kind of lazy post/journalism which is firing up the neg brigade!!

Red G

And another miss

"miss out" in the loosest possible sense! Coz I can really imagine Brendan fancied a front two with a combined height of over 13 foot with no pace this season! lol

Do you honestly think BR was in for him ?
GET REAL

Did we ever have any interest? The truth is noone outside Anfield knows our transfer plans and its driving journalists crazy - no news to tell, so create as much sh.t as you can hoping that a response will come. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing "driving journalists crazy" about the dealings at Liverpool.}

Ed002 i normally never complain about the ED's say but you clearly dont support Liverpool and 90% of what you say has a negative spin on it so why bother? the old saying if you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all. {Ed002's Note - How is this negative? The poster wrote something which is rubbish - I corrected it. The problem is not me being negative. The problem is that many of the fans are wanting to see vast sums of money spent and what they refer to as the "deadwood" players sold. If you want to grizzle and whine - do it at them not at me.}

Damn thats another player id never heard of before this week we can strike off the list whats going on if we miss out on one more player iv never heard of i think i will have to start getting the fsg out tshirts at the ready
ps i am joking lol {Ed002's Note - The "Traore" Liverpool shirts are already coming up in eBay.}

29 Jun 2012 12:58:23
Quick couple of questions for Ed002 if he is around, reports circulating that us and Juve are making moves to sign Ramirez, is there anything concrete behind them? Also, do you think Juve want Suarez or Ramirez, or are they looking at Suarez as a centre forward, instead of playing just off a striker, or as wing forward like he does for Uruguay and did for Ajax, meaning Gaston can play out wide? Finally, if you don't mind, I seen you said earlier that Juve value Giovinco at 22million, and are prepared to offer him to us, do you think we have any interest, if they give us a bit of cash too, it could be for the best, even though a lot of fans might not be happy. Especially as Giovinco is a very talented player, it's just his physique that would be the worry. Cheers.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed002's Note - Juventus are interested in Ramirez and discussions have taken place with Bologna. Entirely separately Juventus are after a strike with Suarez seemingly fourth on their list but the most attainable (a bid for Cavani has been rejected and interest in Robin van Persie and Higuain spurned). Juve have paid up 11M euros for the remaining 50% of Giovinco but are prepared to let him move on. Their first offer to Liverpool will be based on Krasic plus cash. If they can get to a point of negotiation then I understand that Giovinco and Matri are the other bargaining tools they will look to use - although I have been told Matri has said he has no interest in moving to England.}

50 million if they want and we don't want any of their crap.

Ed002 weren't you the wise one who has always told all of us not to confuse transfers with 'messy' player+cash deals...is this not all a bit messy and (assuming it comes to anything) proof that Ayre should not be in charge of anything relating to transfers, contracts and player acquisitions generally? {Ed002's Note - I completely agree but it is very much how business is done in Italy. Within the country it is typical to include a percentage of the contract of one or more youngsters in transfer dealings. The offer Juve made for Cavani was a messy cash plus Givinco plas Matri plus x% of a couple of youngsters. Again Inter offered cash plus Marco Faraoni, Goran Pandev and Joel Obi for Lavezzi and have recently offered a a deal for a young Brazilian (that Liverpool also looked at) a deal which would see them exchange part ownership in two of their players for part ownership of him. It can be a real mess. Unless viable options don't exist, English clubs would normally rather strike a cash deal that gives them options when buying replacements.}

Smithy, would you take Giovinco and Krasic in exchange for Suarez ?
The Real KB

Thanks Ed002, much appreciated mate. Do you think Giovinco would be a good signing?
JFT96
Smithy {Ed002's Note - I have to say I would fear the physical side of teh game being too much for him.}

They obviously can't afford Suarez. If we do sell why do lfc have to sell juventus and not a club like PSG for a ridiculously large sum of money like over 50 million and I said over.

Ed do you know if lfc are still definately willing to sell suarez or has rodgers coming changed that? rodgers seems like the type to put his foot down {Ed002's Note - I would doubt Rodgers would influence matters one way or the other. If Suarez wants to stay and if the board want him to stay and can get assurances over his future behaviour, particularly given he has made at least one post season statement that will result in some sort of discussion between the club and teh FA, then he may well stay at Anfield for a while. We will see.}

Id be telling Juve to doo one especially after the aqualani deal (seems like itallian clubs playing pass the parcel with him just hoping to be holding him when his contract runs out) anyway Juve have got a cheek. I am not saying not to sell him or even that hes not going but whoever wants him should make serious offers and id make it publicly known that Juve and Ac Milan will have to pay an extra 5 million over anyone else as a penalty for being cheeky with previous deals.

Cheers ed for the reply. I just think sometimes maybe the eds need to understand the attachment us fans have to our best players and that we are desperate for top players eg suarez to stay as they don't come around very often {Ed002's Note - I understand the attachment but you cannot lose sight of the players simply being transient employees of the club. Ronaldo, Torres, Rooney, Fabregas, Fowler, et al have all been adored by the fans - but they have moved on. When that happens the fans simply need to suck it up and move on aswell.}

Yes ed but it is difficult to take when u slip from being ranked 1st in europe which we were in 09 to 8th in the league cos we sell our best players eg alonso,masherano,torres etc

No more Italian players or dealings with their clubs.
Lee73

If you can't beat 'em join 'em: any player we buy from any Italian club thay've got to take Aqua as a part-ex: it's been widely reported that he'd take a pay cut to stay in Italy so why not? Hopefully we'll Palma him off on someone soon...Sorry, couldn't resist JimK {Ed002's Note - Great way to get rid of any chance of Ramirez then.}

On a separate matter ED002, did you have a sex change (I thought you were a "lady")? (I would like to ask Ed002 HIS opinion) ;-)

I would also like to agree with you about fans and players. I used to worry and get upset when our players were linked with or moved to other teams but ever since that traitor from Spain moved to Chelsea I no longer have any feelings towards our players and as far as I am concerned all players can go if they want. Same goes for players we are linked with - I dont think BR will lose any sleep if Sig ends up at Spuds!

sorry for the cut and paste, but found this on the Bleacher Report web site.

According to Express.co.uk, the latest rumors connecting Liverpool with player transfers have thrown up a strange name in Lacina Traore. Liverpool already have a tall robust forward in Andy Carroll and many might see Traore as a similar player. The fact is, he isn't.

Firstly, he will cost about 20 percent of what Carroll did, and when you consider that he is still only 22, that seems like a reasonable deal. Secondly, the lanky forward has surprisingly more pace than Liverpool's present No. 9.

If the Reds do sign Traore, it will probably mean that Rodgers is looking to ship out Andy Carroll to make some cash for some of his other targets. Carroll presented a different option off the bench to Rodgers' preferred 4-3-3, played with mobile, swift front men.

If the Liverpool boss is indeed replacing Carroll with Traore, it is a very shrewd move indeed. He does not lose out on the different option that he has with Carroll and he simultaneously adds some cash in the kitty for another target such as Gaston Ramirez. Traore is also quicker, younger and judging by his last season, a prolific score.

RedPie

{Ed002's Note - Traore has transferred to Anxhi today. Another one for the missed list.}

Hi edds and macca, I read more than I post on here and I want to have your opinion on the Gaston Ramirez scenario. People are saying we have and haven't signed him!
Sorry for the long post, YNWA {Ed002's Note - I have explained what I know ad nauseum. You have to read the other posts.}

Why do you Eds keep posting the same questions if you get sick of answering them. {Ed002's Note - Because we get abuse for not posting them.}

Is this the Ramirez that plays for chelsea?

29 Jun 2012 11:57:50
Liverpool Echo quotong the Express that Gaston Ramirez has 'reportedly' signed for Liverpool for £20m:

GASTON Ramirez has achieved his goalof securing a move to a "big club" this summer, with Liverpool reportedly signing the Uruguay international for £20 million.
Although the young player has revealed he would have had no problem remaining at Bologna for another season, the 21-year-old has voiced his enthusiasm to move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Hope so

This is not correct, the Echo is simply quoting the Express is it's rumour section

Unfortunately this wasn't the echo quoting it it was on the rumour site which does not reflect the position of the echo

Liverpool have not signed ramirez

For Christ sake its in the rumour mill section

He is in talk with juventus?

Not even one of the biggest clubs in the prem. europe your having a laugh

To the none Liverpool fan, (clears throat)...... 5 TIMES!! that's why we are one of tge biggest clubs in europe you tool!

Benzo

To the none Liverpool fan, (clears throat)...... 5 TIMES! that's why we are one of tge biggest clubs in europe you tool!

May i add to that the fact that it is virtually impossible for any other club in England to emulAte us as quite simply. They don't have the winning pedigree in Europe. Just look at how Mans**tter Utd were humbled. Even if they had their so called "Devils Luck" it counts for nothing compared to Barca's titles in Europe. See if your a bitter tottenham fan who feels jealous that we will get a better player than that Scumbag Gylfi the please, do us a favour and Shoot yourself son!!...Btw you do know that even God aint on your side this season. Se thing will happen to Man Utd after Ferguson leaves!!.....

Glad we signed Ramirez he was brilliant for Swansea last season ! We can thank Brendan Rogers for that signing

Newcastle Open talks with Twente over de Jong and Douglas Sly news......more transfer targets slipping away,i am struggling to see any positives coming out of Anfield,we are
Losing nailed on transfer targets(sig) and falling behind with moves for other possible targets(de Jong).

Clee red {Ed002's Note - De Jong is interesting clubs clubs from Italy, Germany and England. Interest has been shown by Dortmund, Liverpool, Spurs, Hamburg and Lille and now we are seeing bids being made by Borussia Monchengladbach and Newcastle. It has been suggested to me that Lazio are looking to Luuk De Jong as a replacement for Tommaso Rocchi.}

Oh please, it was 6 months ago we seemed to have strong interest. We've got rid of the manager who wanted him since then and brought it one with different ideals.

Get a grip.

I might be the only one but I personally dont think De Jongs the best option available. He cartainly knows how to finish but he lacks pace and in a team like ours where we dont have alot of pace I think it would be better to spend money on a striker who not only knows where the goal is but also one with a bit of zip about them

Whats the big deal were obviously not interested in him.Bloody sick of reading these moaning posts.We cant bid for every player who may be available in europe.Starting to think some of these guys play football manager more than they actually watch real football.

Ginerbolox.

It is people like you who post this kind of negative nonsense that give Liverpool fans a bad name. Sigurddson had one good half season at an over-performing Swansea, he is still considered surplus at Hoffenheim however. He may be a good player, he may have just shone in an average team (much like Charlie Adam) but his attitude evidently 'stinks' and it just isn't the Liverpool way. If he wanted to play under BR and play for LFC so badly, he would have been coming. He has opted for money instead - do we really want players like that?

Secondly what do you deem so special about Luuk De Jong, may I ask how many times you watch the Eredvise and how many times you've seen him play? Yes, he is young, and evidently has done well in the Eredvise, but so did Sanharib Malki and Ola Toivonen, and Dast Bost...
Twente want around 15M for De Jong.... do we really, really, need to spend that on a striker when we have 1 out and out winger at the club, but 3 strikers in Caroll, Suarez and Bellamy? As a reminder, Suarez scored around 50 goals in 48 appearances in his last full season at Ajax. For Liverpool, this ratio was actually worse than halved with a total of 21 goals in 52 appearances (still very good but not 50 in 48). The same happened with Dirk Kuyt. The point is that the Dutch league is nowhere near the standard of the English league, with maybe 3 or 4 top clubs and the rest being around championship or PL relegation standard. De Jong would likely score (judging from other's records) around 13 goals a season across all competitions, for 15M - the best investment? probably not when you consider who else is out there. There are plenty other players out there and just because Spurs and Newcastle are signing players we have been interested in, you don't need to start shouting negativity.

Os Red

There is no such thing as a "nailed on" transfer target.Anyone at any time can step in and gazump another club simply by saying "we'll pay an extra £5 million for him and pay him £10 grand a week more than the other club offered"!

LIVERPOOL are not loosing targets, BR has already stated he will assess the squad before looking at transfers, this is good management there will always be players out there to buy, other clubs are moving fast as there management and boardroom have been in place a while and no what they want apart from spurs who are desparate to offer big wages to a player who was willing to go to swansea for about 30k a week

They can have him. Not good enough.

Get a grip man if LFC bought every player they were linked with the squad would have about 2000 players in it.wait and see what happens by the end of August before bitching about missed targets

Have a bit of patience lets sign qaulity players for fair prices for change and not on stupid wages so if they dont work out cant sell on nice to see manager not been held ransom for change

Maybe my friend De Jong was NEVER a target for BR....KK was defo interested maybe not so much BR,just a thought.

Clee you are a cryer. you should stop ruining this site with your whining. gone take it to facebook or some other site.

I am seriously getting peeved off with this constant Luuk De Jong crap!He is woeful! Remember Kuyt was prolific in Holland as was Alfonso alves pre-Middlesbrough!

Why do people have such a hrad on over him? If we do sign this mug, we will rue it I promise you!

We need quality...Krasic should be where the clubs attention and the attention of the fans should be. How he doesnt command a place at Juve is beyong me!

meJPOR014

PS I vote for banning anyone that speaks of Luuk De Jong again!

29 Jun 2012 11:29:45
Okay, here's one for ya: Andrea Schurrle.
Impressed me alot at the Euro's, and surely with Sami being in charge at Bayern, that would maybe give us the edge over other clubs? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Victor Moses is a little higher up the list at Liverpool.}

If victor moses is higher up a list than shurrle I for one would be disgusted!!! {Ed002's Note - May as well trash Moses and let the club know that if they are interested they need to drop that interest and concentrate on players you have recently seen play for their national sides.}

Are you suggesting we hold an interest in Moses ed002?
KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - It was suggested by Moses last week that both Chelsea (who had a derisory bid rejected) and Liverpool had interest in him and he wanted to understand what offers were on the table.}

When Moses blasts high and wide at the Kop end, it'll be like the parting of The Red Sea - to avoid getting your scouse pie smashed to bits. Lol.
The Real KB

That makes me sick, moses higher than schurrle? is this a budget window? moses would cost £10m schurrle would cost around 18m euros (£14.6m), all moses has is pace and strength nothing else. nothing {Ed002's Note - The point is that interest has been shown in Moses by Liverpool.}

Oh ok cheers ed002. Not sure about Moses but if he did sign I'd fully support him.

It really does say on ssn sky sources say Gylfi to complete the move nxt wk so does that mean it's true cause its coming from sky sources if true can't believe he choose money over us probably for the sake of an extra 10k arse hole please post

No it doesn't. Not even in transfer clockwatch that would post anything. Not even in football 365 owned by skysports that would post any rumour.

There is a strong chance he will go to spurs. We all know this but why you post these lies is beyond me unless you are a spurs fan trying to rile us up.

Admit it, you're source is fans like you that make something up on other forums such as twitter etc. Yee band together and lies spread like a forrest fire.

He has agreed terms passed medical so it is true its been on sn

He aint making it up, i heard it on ss news this morning, and it claimed he already passed a medical. was gutted when i heard as i think he would have made an excellent addition to our team, don't be slating this guy for passing on what he heard, blame sly if it aint true.

Even if this was true could you really blame him 10k a week is a lot of money why would he not go there

What would you do if 2 companies came in for you. Both offer pretty much the same in terms of where you can go but one offers you a nice boss that you have worked for before or the other offers you an extra £200k a year? I'm not greedy but I know what I would chose

Again I stress, Skysports are not reporting this. It wopuld be on the website.

I am flat out calling you a liar and I stand by my opinion.

I think people need to understand finances. It goes wider than football. A lot of players have families, young families and football is a short career. You make the best decision based on what's best for those you love.

Yes, 20k per week is an awful lot of money, but if someone offers 30k, then it's better, regardless if we think the 20k is suitable enough anyway.

Football has changed, society has changed completely. It would be great if every player played for £20 a week and loved their respective clubs, but it doesn't work like that.

If I go for a job, and they offer me 30k per year and I then apply for another one and they offer me 50k, I'm taking the 50k. I've got a young family, so why not do all you can in the short time frame to provide the best you can?

All we see is the saturday game. What happens when you get home from training? How about after the match? What if your family back home are struggling? Us fans don't know jack that goes behind the scenes, we can't get past the game.

Yes, they're paid too much but I don't blame them for taking the highest they can.

What a silly comparison. Liverpool FC is and always will be one of biggest clubs in the world.

To the person calling people liars, It is on sly news that he has had a medical and will be signing for Spurs next week so I think you need to make an apology to all concerned.

I've also just read the article. On the website click football then underneath the main headlines it says in bold 'SPURS SET TO LAND SIGURDSSON' why call the guy a Liar! fool!

Eds, I've herd that Lacina Traore will not be coming to Liverpool as he is going to Anzhi Makhachkala.

Do you know if this is true? Thanks

An Dun Red {Ed002's Note - It is correct and as far as I know there was never any interest from Liverpool - regardless of what Twitter says.}

I didnt get it off Twitter Ed, its on The Express website

An Dun Red {Ed002's Note - I am guessing they got it from Twitter then.}

Probably so ed haha

An Dun Red

29 Jun 2012 10:45:15
Lacina Traore, linked to Liverpool again this week, is joining Anzhi Makhachkala - his club Kuban Krasnodar have confirmed .

AJI.
PS; Hope no more rumours posted concerning this footballer.

Its a shame. He's an absolutely dynamite striker.

29 Jun 2012 10:31:37
Ed002, Alot of rumours circulating Lacina Traore, just wondering wether you knew of anything, on this matter. used the search function to which i found you saying somthing along the lines of Fulham being interested, and not being sure whether we were interested? Has anything changed, I don't want you to be wasting your time repeating yourself, so if nothing has changed, don't post this. All the best.. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of anything that has changed at all. It remains that I have no idea about interest from Liverpool but there was certainly an enquiry from Fulham.

Would you want Traore at Liverpool? He really does not strike me as the sort of player the club would be looking at.}

I personally have never seen him play, only what's of him on youtube, i think i just want some clarification on striking options i guess? I also think that if Rodgers thinks that he is right for Liverpool then i'd back him 100% as i would for any of his signings. Traore isn't a big player, I for one had never heard of him before, and don't really follow Russian League footy, but to me an unrecognised name seems more likely than a high profile name, at this time

{Ed002's Note - Singred has pointed out "You can put the Lacina Traore rumours to bed - he's going to Anzhi Makhachkala. Reported on their official site."}

I don't believe many people had even heard of him before 2 or 3 days ago. I hate the way the press link us with every player under the sun and when we don't get them we get abuse for not being able to sign players we don't even know we wanted. Ed002 is spot on, Traore isn't the player I would want at Liverpool. It would have been a poor move. However, we have a lot of terrible supporters who crave 8 or 9 signings a summer and think we can spend 150million+

Sick and tired of the amount of people believing every rumour and then having a dig at the club.

29 Jun 2012 09:39:57
Press are saying that Juevntus are making us an offer of £14.5 million plus Krasic to make a £20M deal for Suarez. This is far lower then he is worth. Thoughts Ed? {Ed002's Note - As an alternative, would 10M euros and Giovinco be more attractive? Or even 5M euros, Krasic and Giovinco? Juve have taken over the ownership of Giovinco but would be willing to use him to get their way in another transfer. Krasic is already surplus to requirements in Turin as we know.}

ED002...

The answer would still be no...

Or as my dad always says...

Go and blow it out of your ap*e.

RobbehLFC. {Ed002's Note -

We brought him for 23 million, why on earth would we sell for 14.5 million and krasic. Suarez has had a good season, i dont understand why we dont put a 60 million price tag on his head to put off buyers because every other club does it.

Or how about 50 million straight cash and if you won't pay lfc don't sell.

Ed is it possible that we just buy giovinco without suarez going? or give them aquilani with giovinco coming to us? {Ed002's Note - Giovinco is valued by Juventus at 22M euros - they are not going to exchange him for Aquilani. He was offered in a failed bid for Cavani and I understand may be available and offered up if they can get to the table with Liverpool over Suarez.}

This is a load of rubbish. How can we contemplate our best player with a bunch of Juve rejects? This rumour is irritating, any Liverpool forward thinking fan should just ignore this.

Ed002, although you maintain that Suarez is likely to leave, and I have no reason to doubt that info, I'm pretty certain that FSG wont get rid unless a very good offer comes in. After all they are smart business minded people aren't they? A token payment and some cast offs? Suarez is not in the same position as Aqualani so I doubt they'd do this... especially when other clubs such as Palermo, PSG would be prepared to pay more cash... too long have be kowtowed to Italian clubs in recent times.

If they want him, pay an exceptional sum or he stays.... personally I still believe he will stay.

Richards {Ed002's Note - I agree that there is a chance that he might stay but there serious remains interest in him from several clubs including Juventus, who co-incidently he visited this summer. PSG remain in the market for a striker as well. Interest certainly remains from Parma although perhaps the interest of Roma has waned. Interest from Spain is also possible.}

Again this won't happen bottom line is suarez is a better all round player than torres and he was sold for £50 million. juventus do not possess that money. end of. {Ed002's Note - You will never grasp and understand the transfer system whilst repeatedly making comparisons. They are meaningless.}

Giovinco is a very very small lad, will he cope in the EPL? Not just short, but very thin too.

Disney! {Ed002's Note - I agree it would be a bit of a risk physically, although he does have exceptional talent.}

Its only a matter of time before a club signs suarez and some of liverpools better players ..the vultures are circling overhead....rip liverpool

Suarez is the only flair player wev had sinse mcmanaman and why oh why god tell me why on earth is there so called supporters who want him 2 go??reasonable question I hope he stays 4 the next 10 years and helps us win the title some muppets out there people let's keep the faith

Bottom line is that Suarez was bought for around £23 Milion and has had a very good season in the premiership. As a result his price in my opinion has gone up or at least doubled. If average players like Henderson can be bought cheaply and then be sold for £20 Million without even being an England regular, it is clear to see the profit margins. I think I have a pretty good grasp mate. Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - No grasp - again a meaningless comparison. And I rather doubt the value of Suarez is at least £46M.}

If this is Juventus final offer for Suarez, then its no reason to worry! Suarez will be Liverpool player next season :)
If they offer +40 mill, then we can start to wonder what will happen ...

Again strongly disagree LFC will not sell Suarez to Juventus at all mark my words. They do not possess the financial firepower to pull off the deal and really mate it is poor business to sell a player at a loss if they have proved to be a real gem. LFC are not going to openly reveal their business to anyone as thy want to conduct it in-house. Furthermore, you really need to explain the concept of grasp in your opinion? This may not reflect the opinions of others as in reality it is down to peoples opinions. Bottom line is Suarez will not be sold to Juve. {Ed002's Note - The problem is that you cannot consider one potential transfer without making a comparison to another which is totally irrelevant. You suggest a value of Suarez which is entirely nonsensical and suggest Juventus are not in a position to buy Suarez. It is red tinted glasses at best.}

How about £20m & Krasic and Giovinco then we can still tell them where to stick it. He's not for sale. He will be the building block for the Rodgers Revolution.
QuantRed.

Liverpool need to get their act together and make some signings. Show that we mean business. To build on what we have rather than rushing to replace our best players later. If Suarez wants to go, and i hope not, 30 million is a fair amount for him. This is not a comparison just an estimate of market value. We'd expect to pay that if he played for Newcastle or someone else. Cant fault the lad but If he didn't have so many personal issues he'd be worth more and if he displayed more loyalty he'd be worth more. All IMO.

We are unable to attract any players. even the likes of gilfy subs us (whatever the reason is) and now if we sell suarez i will have to question the intent of the club owners. i can not remain optimistic i m afraid.

Ed002, is it fair to say that if Juventus are trying to agree a deal that they wouldn't be doing this unless a) Liverpool want to sell or/and b) Suarez wants to leave?

Otherwise the club would have ruled out the move and/or his agent would have done? So there must be room for manoeuvre or they wouldn't be bidding surely?

Disney! {Ed002's Note - Well we know that his representive in Italy has been trying to strike a deal for him in both Italy and in Spain and that Pavel Nedved met with Suarez's agent in Barcelona during May and then set up (a) the well publicized visit of Suarez to Juventus; (b) Martin Caceres well timed statement about Suarez; and (c) Suarez's post season statement about him not getting a fair deal in England and the FA etc.. A bunch of other stuff is going on and it would be niave to think the Suarez knows nothing of it.}

So what do you value Suarez at then Ed002. More or less than the £23 mil we paid? {Ed002's Note - I have said before that the club would want to recover something between £25M and £30M if they could.}

Ed002, it was similar to when Ronaldo was going to leave and United fans wouldn't accept it until it was finally announced. Most of us knew he was leaving. Similar to Arsenal fans in regards to Nasri, Cesc and now RVP. I guess Liverpool fans do not want to believe he is leaving, but I think it has been building up to this for some time now. Sure he could still be a Liverpool player next season, but I think that would be highly unlikely.

Disney!

Ed both and the journos from the liverpool echo think suarez is definately staying and they are the most connected people to lfc, as shown by the hunt for a new manager. So i am inclined to believe suarez is staying, they are also in talks over a new deal {Ed002's Note - No problem then. This is not the same Echo who is quoting the Express article saying Ramirez has already signed is it?}

I'd take a deal of money+ giovinco, or a small amount +krasic and giovinco. Tbh I think we'd be stupid not to take that sort of deal. Giovinco is a player and a half, and whilst losing suarez would mean we lose one of our better players, replacing him with two players of the type we need is a
Good deal. Also, he's a risk because of his hot attitude and regardless of his guilt, i'd rather not be without a good player for 8 matches again this season.

We should flat out refuse to do business with Juve ever again. Poulsen and Aquilani's loan / no deal, those were both Juve weren't they?

Get lost

Suarez is easily worth 40 million, we bought him for 23m, so we wouldnt sell him for 14.5+Krasic, whos worth about 4m...

I think if Suarez wanted to leave and we could get 15-20 million plus Giovinco we should take it, Giovinco had a great season last year with a not that great Parma so we'd have a replacemant and money for other players, but only if Suarez was asking to go

I think its a good deal, Giovinco is pretty good and young and Krasic would give us a good option. DP

Ed do you really think the club would accept such a derisory offer for Suarez? No chance. He'll be a Liverpool player next season, if he isn't I'll never post again and donate the contents of my bank account to the Eds on this site :)

Martin

The fact is ultimately that a player's value depends on how much the buyer wants or needs him.However I'm sorry to say Ed but your valuation of Suarez at little more than 5 to 8 million more than we paid for him would be out of line with virtually every other Liverpool supporters opinion.He's young and VERY talented so if another club wants him then they must pay top dollar.

Typical. Ed002, the Chelsea fan, stirring it up. It has never been stated in any rag that there is a hint that Suarez would leave. I believe that if this was the case, then The S** and many others would be all over this.

I do not believe for one second that you know anything. Plus I agree with other people. Juve cannot afford Suarez, simple. He is worth 40 million plus. It is not a case of comparison, it is a case of playing ability, commercial viability and overall what they bring to the club on and off the field.

This is utter tosh! {Ed002's Note - So in your opinion there is no interest in Suarez from anyone, Juventus, PSG etc.. Nedved never went to Barcelona. Suarez never attended a match in Turin. Again the soft option is simply to turn on me. Fine.}

Juventus are not in a position to sign Suarez if you truly think that £14 million plus a Juve reject is going to be accepted then that would be pretty foolish. Suarez is a top class talent who is playing at the top of his game and is a legend in Uruguay as a result of top class displays. You do not sell top class players for cash plus cast offs unless the math/economic situation benefits. Upon reflection of what is being offered here I would say that all the examples are no goers. Sorry my friend but I think you are looking at this through red tinted glasses. Bottom line is Suarez WILL NOT BE SOLD TO JUVE.

{Ed002's Note - Fine.}

With regards to the above point Liverpool Echo did not state that a fee had been agreed for Suarez. This was only on the rumour site which does reflect the true position of the Echo.

Ed I'm just curious why would lfc sell for such a low price. Surely we don't have to sell him. {Ed002's Note - There is a world of difference between high, low and realistic in terms of prices.}

Liverpool seems to be the only club to buy players make them better and make a no money on them or just about brake even sell for 14.5 million and krasic at best that is 19mill deal and we would be taking a reject who is so bad at finishing of chances is unreal other clubs put mad buyout clause in so y cant we he is worth 35mill but we wont get it over all the trouble he makes so i think we should get 25mill and krasic or just as much cash as we can get anything less it would be a joke

Everyone needs to stop living in a fantasy world.suarez is not a world class and is there for not worth the stuppid figures been thrown around on here.last seasons return of 11 goals and 3 assists is not the form of a 40-50 mill player.if gio plus 5-10 mill was offered id snap it up.suarez is a good player but a liability

Selling your best players tells you that
the club is heading in one direction and
it most certainly isn't UP..........

auntie annie.....

Ed if theres so many teams interested in Suarez why would the price be so low? wouldnt many teams be bidding for him especially when the likes of psg and palermo are involved, wouldnt that point to a higher price than the players worth rather than a lower one?....cheers ed JF LFC {Ed022's Note - It's a very complicated setup mate.}

"I do not believe for one second that you know anything."

Well from what I read Ed002 replies the most so if you don't think they know anything may I suggest you try another site...

Hey Eds, apparently we have a few targets that we were looking at for Sigurdssons role who we were seriously considering if we did not get Sigurdsson, could you give us an idea of who these are and I am assuming Ramirez is one of them as they play a very similar position? {Ed002's Note - There was previously interest in the likes of Elm and Boudebouz but with players soon to begin returning I think much of what happens hereon in will be down the the manager having the opportunity to assess the squad.}

Wigan lad again is favorite-gee great

I would say that this is not looking good and would say it is going to be one long summer in the transfer market for Liverpool. Its clear that there may not be much to spend. David Conn did hint that the owners did not want to spend any more money which is why the club may be up for sale again next summer. Especially if top 4 is not achieved again which seems very unlikely. Hope this is wrong!!

Sigurdsson has agreed to join Spurs, passed a medical, & us expected to sign Monday according to sly.
Why are we so slow when it comes to negotiating player transfers. We should of signed him up straight away with transfer rubber-stamped on July 1st.
Time to shift our attention to other targets, whoever they may be.

Gav the Red

Shame we just havent got the money to fork out for players, hence rodgers was appointed, if a high profile manager was appointed they would have expected money to spend, Im expecting a mid-season finish, without a trophy, it saddens me saying all this.

Well if money is why he is joking spurs then so be it we theres players out there that will want to come to liverpool because they want to we shouldn't be held to ransom by players of his quality.

Mike G

Ate u mental or something u think that Rodgers came to liverpool thinking he'd have to do his shopping for players in aldi there's money there to be spent people have no fate Liverpool havent kicked a ball under Rodgers yet and your already moaning.
Mike G

You cannot force a player to sign,He waited for other offers and got a better one.Obviously BR decided he was not worth the extra wages.

Totally agree with Mike! Its generally known that he had massive wage demands, where as we gave him a take it of leave it offer, spurs bowed to his demands......therefore he agreed to sign for a managerless club rather than a manager he enjoyed playing under last season! Greedy greedy boy!

Sigurdsson's miss could be a blessing if we go after land gaston instead

Before getting too disappointed read the echos article on this he had high wage demands that didn't match his current experience remember and this is no disrespect to the clubs mentioned he has only played for Swansea and reading And is surplus to reqrements at hoffnheim he's had a decent run of games at Swansea and got ideas above his station says a lot about his character now ask your elf 2 things is he good enough to pay over the odds for and do you really want people like that at our club have faith I'm pretty confident that when the season starts we will have a good enough bunch of players with the right attitude to take us forward

We dont have money. that is why BR was appointed to work with few k to spend. mid table season yet again

Totally agree Mike. Sigurdsson had a value, but he got greedy when Spurs flashed the cash in his face. I wish him well, coz I have a feeling he's going to need it. If they appoint AVB, I'm sure he'll have his own ideas on who should play and there's no guarantee that includes Sigurdsson. Consequently, he could find himself warming the bench.

I can see the headlines in the press in 6 months time: "Why I made a terrible mistake and should've joined up with Roy".

I have a feeling we'll go all out for Rameries now, who provides us with far greater options and flexibility. Sigurdsson would've been great, but now he'll never know what its like to be adored by the Kop and hear your name immortalised in song at Anfield. #His loss.

{Ed002's Note - "Roy"?}

What is wrong with people. Do u honestly think that this guy has chosen spurs for anything other than financial reasons? If Rodgers really wanted him and thought he was worth the extra money than he would be here, obviously Rodgers rates him but feels he can get better value and quality elsewhere. People need to stop panicking I'm sure that the club know what there doing and are working hard to bring new players in. Oh and the window isn't even open yet!

Whoops, I meant Brendan, not Roy! Doh

We obviously didn't go for him. We must be after gaston Ramirez who would also love to join us.

It saddens me too that our club have supporters like you.

Looks like spurs have got there very own charlie adam!!!

To those saying we don't have any money to spend, Sigurdsson would've been cheap in comparison to other potential targets in the market. However you should never confuse cost with value. We all remember the Owen saga when he supposedly wanted to come back, but opted for Newcastle coz they offered silly money. How did that work out for him; especially as he did it to further his England career?

I have more faith and confidence in FSG and BR today coz they haven't signed him, as it means they won't be held to ransom by players and their agents.

Oh for goodness sake, will you children please stop posting this sort of rubbish! Gylfi Siggurdsson was "rubber stamped" to go to Swansea until Brendan Rogers left and came to us, but I doubt that Swansea sealed the deal "straight away". What do you think transfer negotiations are like - a meeting in a pub where the club says "join us" and the player says "yeah alright"? Do you think that when there is more than one offer on the table that players just accept the first offer that comes their way? He has looked at his options and probably accepted the Spurs offer rather than ours because he gets more money and probably thinks that on the strength of the last couple of seasons they are more likely than us to achieve Champions league football at the end of the season. the player has the final say, not us. If a player (or manager) doesn't want to come to Liverpool there is no way that we can force them. And please give Brendan Rogers a chance - just because he is not "high profile" now doesn't mean that he won't be in the future. What was Shankly's profile when he became our manager? And Paisley? And not all high profile managers are an immediate success (e.g. Fergie at Man U - even 5 years after he was appointed the fans were saying he was rubbish). Rogers is one of the best young managers around, let's not pre-judge how the season will end.

Who's to say we will pay the wage demands of other players like gaston ramirez , thats all ive heard the owners moan about they said about rafa , and it was spoken on here about glen johnson leaving to reduce the wage bill , wake up people the owners dont want to pay the wages of players , that why they want young players who they can sell on

Just asked me elf and he said sig he had one good season and was STILL surplus to requirements at his parent club , says alot about what they must think of him, Ramirez is the one he thinks we should get!

Red-pasty

And so it begins ,fans fighting already and not a ball kicked ,fsg will not spend the cash simple as that we are gonna be mid table because without spending the money we wont get the players thats the way it is.people can moan all they like about other fans but dont try amd say these owners are gonna spend and bring us back to the top.
Eam

Damn it, I was just about to use the elf joke!!
Bridgy07

To the guy who began his reply above with........ "Before getting too disappointed read the echos article"

Wish you had signed your name. I want to know where I can get me one of those ELF Football Experts you refer to half way through your reply! I think you were wrong to assume that we would all have our own Elf's to ask questions of though.

Sorry, I've not got anything intelligent to add this morning.

Red G

@Red-Pasty - you own an actual elf??

Our inability to match spurs offer for him just shows that the list of clubs that have more financial muscle then us is growing by the day fsg have shown nothing they spent 100 mill on this team but recouped at least 60 mill of that I can see us being like everton in yrs gone buy {Ed002's Note - You need to force the demons from the club - some sort or Twitter based campaign perhaps? Flags are good, we like flags. Facebook - always a winner.}

Fans are so difficult to please. If we get the player, many will complain saying we could have spent the in a world class player. If we don't get him many cry about missing out on a player over a few quid. So difficult to please.

Also to the people who are saying Rodgers has no money to spend needs to rethink. FSG paid over 5m for him and his staff, you don't pay so much to buy a manager for nothing, obviously he will be promised some spending.

Also Rodgers has had no training session with the squad yet. I think he needs to assess his squad properly before wasting money because imo there are some gems in the squad that fits his game.

Sorry for going on for so long, but I just feel that people needs to be more patient and stop complaining, especially since all of the senior players hasn't even met Rodgers yet.

STB

Getting serious reservations about fsg have u seen how the red six are doing lately

Look, it's very simple. Brendan Rodgers was part of the negotiating when Swansea had agreed a fee with Hoffenheim and also the players personal terms. Although they may not have been 'rubber stamped' as mentioned earlier, he certainly had a very good 'ballpark' idea of what GS would've been on at Swansea.

As soon as Liverpool got mentioned, his greedy agent no doubt, has upped the ante and used teh Spurs/Liverpool saga as a bargaining chip to get as much as possible from the clubs in terms of wages and signing on fee.

BR was working within his budget whilst at the same time offering the player more than Swansea had offered him. Spurs had just trumped that salary and BR refused to go any higher knowing they had had made the player a very fair offer and left it to the lad to decide.

If he had signed for Swansea then he would've been on more than he was at Hoffenheim...if he had signed for us then he would've been on more than what he was gonna get at Swansea...and now if he signs for Spurs as expected he will be picking up more than he would've been picking up at Anfield.

You can say it's for footballing reasons but I doubt that, given that Spurs have no manager at present. I also think that for £6m-£8m then he could've been worth a punt, but I wont be losing any sleep over it if he does go to Spurs.

Let Rodgers asses the squad that he has and improve where he sees fit to improve based on previous years scouting reports etc and we'll take it from there.

Swizzmeister-funk

We need to get a few things straight. Did Liverpool make any offer to buy this fellow? Do we know the true story? Are FSG fools who want to see this great club slide to mid-season table status? FSG are winners and they want to see champions league football and success for the club. I am confident they have a sustainable plan to turn around the fortunes of this club. Not going public about our plans, strategy etc is the Liverpool way !!

Macca has already said there's plenty of money available, so possibly we're aiming for players of a higher calibre than gylfi who played well for half a season at Swansea...

Macca also said he didn't have any more info on Sigurdsson deal, which may provide a clue as to how serious we really were. After all, BR stated he was a player he would want to talk to, not someone he buy at any cost. Perhaps Sigurdsson has been a smoke screen for the real targets & it serves our purpose to have the press pre-occupied on a target we're not really fussed about, so he can negotiate without others trying to poach {Ed002's Note - The first smokescreen of the summer.}

We have money to spend, but that doesn't mean we will throw it at increased wage demands from players that do not justify them. We'd be better off signing pirlo if that was the case. It's still a time of turmoil, kenny steadied the ship and now it's Brendan's time to shine. Even now I think it'll be a good two or three seasons for us to be challenging for champions league. We've survived a savage blow that could easily have seen us ruined forever as a club, but I see wisdom, judgement and respect for the Liverpool way in both FSG and Rogers.

Before you know it, we will be playing football that is the envy of the premiere league.

Stay brave, fellow reds

Would've loved to see Sigurdsson in Liverpool. But now that he's not coming to us, we better shift our attention from him & look at another player. Hopefully, Gaston Ramirez. I do hope that, rumours linking us with Racina Traore are not true. We don't need another giant in the team. We've already seen what our 6ft.+ striker is capable of doing. Carroll's a stupid donkey & we don't need another striker of his style.

SUMON VAI

If we cannot meet the wage/transfer fee for sigurdsson, how can we do it for Gaston Ramirez. I don't blame BR, I am sure he will be doing his best. But Kenny and comolli blew up the money last year and the owners are reluctant to show any further ambition.

I think there is a big point being missed her. No one has said we CAN'T meet wage demands for player, what the club are saying is those demands will be met unless the player in question meets the wage request with how the club see his rate his ability. They clearly don't think siggurdson is of the level that his wage requests suggests. If we meet other players wage demands then that will indicate that the club feel that player is worth that oney. Rafa for all his good work more than over paid players and make no mistake about that this all contributed to the decilne of the club some 18 months ago it wasn't all board and Roy's fault. Business is always on going with consquences for bad business decisions impacting far into out further even if that was rafa who made them.

I think it's pretty clear we did want sigurdsson , but wanted him at what we thought would be a fair price, spurs have came in and offered silly money for him (wages-wise). Now who would I trust to be best placed to judge what the player is worth, people on a rumour site or someone who has managed him for years (at Swansea and reading). I know it's frustrating and I want to see us active but we have paid stupid wages for players before (aqua and cole) and see how good they turned out. Patience, it's hard but we're gonna have to learn it. If we're judging FSG and BR transfers let's at least wait until the end of the summer, not even gonna try to persuade you guys to wait to the start of the season.

Hope all these rumours stay rumours and then FSG give BR 100k+ then buy top players! its a slim chance but its possible.....

I've just seen on SSN that Sigurdsson has agreed terms and passed a medical at Tottenham.

SSN news has nothing of the sort on. Your lucky these type of posts get posted. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps it came from Twitter?}

How on earth can people find it amusing to keep posting stuff from twitter that has been quite simply made up. And yet i bet again they come back and do another one tomorrow even thought they never come true. Doesn't make sense. {Ed002's Note - I completely agree. That is why I would prefer if people are just going to post nonsense from Twitter that they please be decent enough to say so. Perhaps they could caveat the messages with something like: "I saw this on Twitter and I am naive and stupid enough to believe it to be true so I am sharing it with you".}

Why make it up...even if it happens it looks like he's moving for the money not to a manager who he has worked with and obviously has time for him...if that what he chooses so be it.

If siggy goes to spurs well so be it. We want players who want to play for LFC not money grabbers. Sure he is a good player but there Are plenty fish in the sea. Give BR time and let's get the right players for his system. BR wil play a 4 4 3 system as seen in the euros by all the passing style teams. It's the way forward.
Reina

Twitter always gets slated on here, but where's the evidence that anyone on this site has any more knowledge or inside information than any of the journos on there? Just a question.

Its just said it after the segment on avb

Heqar what your saying but I dont think the rediculous rumours/gossip people post from twitter are actually from the credible jurnos, and when credible sources from twitter post any info its usually all but been confirmed by the clubs involved anyway

Who says he is going for the money maybe he would rather play for spurs plus it was on sly news dismorning that he passed a med and agreed tearms

I really don't give a damn about this Sig. He should play wherever he wants. Liverpool will get players who want to play for Liverpool.

BR will do well to play a 4-3-3 , interesting tactics leaving out a goalie?

4 3 3 = 10 plus goalie = 11. You're late for school kid

Not everything on twitter is BS there are some credible sources

GuvTOB {Ed002's Note - As a percentage?}

It was on SSN this morning, scouts honour!

Twitter is the reason most fans feel disappointed at the end of transfer window because we saw on twitter that we had a agreed a fee for Aguero Messi and Ronaldo! Twitter can be great from legit sources however their isn't many on there. But that main reason it gets slated because of the 'so so will sign tomorrow' and when it doesn't happen leaves everyone fustrated including the eds who have to time and time again say that things are not true because of these rumours.

4-4-3 further up sunshine!? Hows your maths now?

Hi Eds. my question is regarding mats hummels. WHAT A DEFENDER! Have liverpool been scouting him? Could he be a realistic target for Liverpool. Im my opionon a very good player.

{Ed002's Note - Hummels will not be joining Liverpool this summer.}

Oh yeah hes the lad that got turned like a person by Cassano last night for goal number 2.... if you were watching him for the first time last night you wouldnt say that lol.. IMO he had a stinker... good player though lol

Quigz23

If ur gonna be sarcastic at least get ur facts right!!! Cassano turned him for the first goal

Barry the Red

He would cost double a Sktel or Agger as he is 23 and has a like 5 year contract with dortmund

ben

This guy is positionally clueless , have you been watching the Euros ?

Realised this after i posted lol epic fail....

Quigz23

Good post.probably the most sought after defender behind thiago silva in europe would turn down the likes of barca and the mancs to sign for liverpool who will struggle to get any form of european next season.they can scout him all they want,if an offer was made it would be laughably rejected by hummels

Hey ed, when are all the players participating in the olympics back for the epl season? Will it be for more than 2 weeks?
Indian Buzzer {Ed005's Note - I'm not totally sure mate but I'd imagine it is a couple of weeks into the season.}

The FINAL of the olympics is 11th August. So they could theoretically be available for West Brom. More likely City at home.

So we won't have Suarez or Coates for the first couple of weeks of the season? If thats the case I wouldn't want them going. Suarez hasn't had a proper break in a very long time, 2 years ago it was the World cup so he didn't have a break, last year it was the Copa America so he didn't have a break and now he has the olympics. Its not ideal.
KiwiRed

The final takes place on August 11th, probably available for the home game to
Man City on 25th.

Dangle1979

Football at the Olympics is brainless.

Suarez got a lovely 8 game break....

Make that 9 game break including the Fulham hand gesture

There is interest in Schurrle of Bayern Leverkusen

Any idea on price for Schürrle? Schürrle / Ramirez sounding pretty good

Let me guess: The reason we've arranged the Leverkusen friendly is so that Schurrle can play the first half for them and the second half for us, thereby announcing his 12 year contract??

I just wish, if we were after him. A top player with a huge potential. Can't say much, but If he's signed thats one of the best business LFC would've done. YNWA Trustme

Liverpool have fallen behind Juventus in the race to sign Uruguayan sensation Gaston Ramirez.

I've read the BBC column too, but kudos for spreading the lies first!!

That would hurt

No surprise can't even sign sigurdsson we are highly unlikely to sign Ramirez
