Wallcot deal trying to get pushed through by BR. Dempsey almost done. Enquiry made for Sturridge but no bids made. Still no bids from Newcastle for big Andy but we expect one in the next 24 hours.

Alright eds. spoke to my mate earlier on who plays for Bolton he said the management at Bolton weren't to impressed with Spearings attitude. Came across all big time Charlie. Might have shot himself in the foot with this move now

Take it your a jealous blackburn fan?

He doesn't want to go does he? Probably do whatever to help block any move

Even Blackburn fans wouldn't be jealous of Spearing...

Im not a Blackburn fan mate. Upper centenary season ticket holder just telling fellow reds the truth that's all. Sadly to many young players have bad attitudes

He's always played the big-time-charlie even before he got ionto the first team squad. I was behind him in a shop years ago when he must only have been 16 and he was playing the big 'I am' then.

I bet not one of you have ever even spoken to the lad, so going on that, at least give him some respect for the work he puts in, even if you don't rate him,

Sorry, he's a down-to-earth lad. I've met him a few times and I hate gob shabites.

DaveyBootle

Maybe then can have a Charlie then instead? ;)

RedKopite

I know spearing he's not like that at all

This is the first ever sighting of the words 'big' and 'Spearing' in the same sentence.

That is BS i no jays family and jay is no big time charlie his dad would not let him be like that I am telling you fella your right out of order there

29 Aug 2012 23:20:22
Charlie Adam of to Stoke for 5 mil.
Jonson

29 Aug 2012 23:19:46
Sorry guys,

THEO wont be signing, we enquired, but he's staying.

Mulder

Im glad! His end product sucks!

Good we don't need him at all

Theo is good enough for us!

Look at his stat last 2 season.

Theo Walcott and Scott Sinclair running down the wing forward roles with Suarez as our main striker. Add to that Sterling as back up to either of them with Suso as backup to Stevie G and Nuri Sahin and Allen in the middle. Damn thats a top 4 challenging squad alright!!...

I've been critical of Walcot in the past - but if we can get him, it would be a definite step up in class.

I think he'd flourish away from Wenger

29 Aug 2012 23:09:02
Wtf is going on Sly issue an Arsenal statement re.Walcott staying! NOW less then an hour ago-James Pearce of The Echo Tweets-Liverpool will test Arsenals resolve over Walcott if they get rid of Carroll before deadline.(And we have NO interest in Sturridge)He also says Adam will go to Stoke,And with Spearing due to leave to, it will free up cash for us to finally sign Dempsey. Either way i feel the mysterious short term agreement of Walcott is either to up his fee OR for him to join us in January!

Don't believe anything you hear & only half of what you see

29 Aug 2012 22:37:45
Stoke make 4million bid for Adam

We buy Danny Wilson for £5 million and Adam a full international is going at £4 million.

It's all a bit strange, i'd rather keep him. If he was 28 or older then deal, but he's not. We couldn't buy someone of that quality for that money.

Rodgers seems to have a clue about the transfer market in terms of buying talent, let's see how he does selling players when it's almost obvious that he is need of doing so.

Hasn't got a clue about buying talent? Allen is better than Adam, so yes, yes he has got a clue. Well done.

Lol to the last comment....try reading what the previous poster said. Meh

29 Aug 2012 22:34:33
Stoke bid for Adam, finally some movement.

Theo Walcott will be at Anfield on Sunday. Trust me! If I'm right this will be most reliable information all year. Luis

I would be shocked if he was not there

We are playing arsenal on sunday!!!!!!

No great surprise as we play arsenal!so he will be there one way or the other!

Of course...we play arsenal..

I would be shocked if he was not there

We are playing arsenal on sunday!!!!!!

Surely he will be playing for Arsenal

Never fella do you think that might have something to do with the fact we play arsenal on sunday just a guess like

Playing for Arsenal!!

Of course he'll be at Anfield on Sunday, we're playing Arsenal! Not big and not clever

Yes, he will be. Even if we don't sign him.

That's how good we've been this transfer window :P

Walruss

Quality mate

billynwa

LFC to buy Walcott tomorrow and loan him back to Arsenal for first half on Sunday. Can't reveal my source but she has been with John Terry or was it Ryan Giggs?

Thanks that made me laugh

Sarcasm is wasted on some people haha...great post!

Banter king

Could be so wrong if he signed for man city lol. Bet u didnt think of that did ya :)

Gezza1982

Because he is coming to anfield for weekend clash with Liverpool

Subtle sarcasm is subtle. Made me chuckle anyway.

TSP

Only 4 out of 16 got that, unbelieveable! prob all too dumb to realise how stupid they should feel

Lol you never know, he might injure himself or Wenger might leave him out of the squad

Well we play arsenal so he will be one way or other

Haha, good post Luis!

Is that you luis? It's Cavani here, I'll see you tomorrow! ;)

Ha ha you hooked and reeled at least 12 there mate

Of coarse he will be at Anfield. Were playing Arsenal are'nt we!

Yh playing for arsenal coz the window is closed by then

What happened to all the fun loving Liverpool fans. Chill ya beans cats it was sarcasm. Well done to those who accepted it as banter. Luis

Yes he'll be playing for Arsenal

What side will he be on?

Ha ha nice one la.

29 Aug 2012 22:11:37
Walcott will sign on Friday. He has chosen the no 17 shirt.

Oh, then it makes sense that he's signed a short term contract and wont be sold in this window?

Ok BR thanks

Bad choice of number

29 Aug 2012 22:05:42
charlie adam to stoke £3.5 mill from a spurs fan

Why would a spurs fan give us 3.5 mill to sell adam to stoke

I would pay that to Stoke to get rid of him

You were close

Piledriver

You were close

Piledriver

It's £4m, don't try knock off £500k

From a Liverpool fan

Why thank you very much spurs fan your generosity exceeds you,me and the chaps will be able to purchase a reasonble sized mansion house in the country and its all down to your famous southern generosity, what an admirable sort you are.

Nice of the spurs fan to put in 3.5 million

29 Aug 2012 21:15:11
Theo Walcotts Agent is playing mind games , A statement says he won't be leaving this month ! Yet it's the 1st of September on Saturday ! He will sign on Friday night (FACT)

Iv said this to my self time and time again he wont be at arsenal after friday. its to risky for them to end up with a few million or nothing. they can take 15m or end up with a player the fans hate and an unhappy player. walcott will be leaving arsenal within 48 hours but were too? i still think city will try and nabb the player

Fri night is still August!

He will not become a liverpool player, if we really wanted him that bad, a bid would of been made by now, fact is we always leave things too late in the transfer window, and I honestly think we will sign Dempsey and that will be all.

Colin Gordon is Walcotts agent , he has a bad track record , he is also Steve McClarens agent ! Say no more !

Seriously fella come on :D read it through. if the window shuts 11pm friday the 31st, how can he sign saturday.

I said he will sign Friday night and be here on the 1st of September :) We haven't even made a bid yet / and we haven't even made a bid for Dempsey ! They both want to come here , both in final year of their contracts and we will dictate the price ! We won't get mugged like we did with AC .

He will officially sign on Saturday. Everything will be completed on Friday, subject to passing a medical. All medical results will be received on Saturday which will formally complete the transfer.

I dont want Walcott. He has no end product, he made 12 assists last season for one of the most prolific strikers in the league, who himself made more assists than Walcott, he isn't that good and is certainly not worth all the ink being wasted on him.

Anonyred

29 Aug 2012 21:12:08
Theo Walcott will still be leaving Arsenal ,his Agent is playing games !

29 Aug 2012 21:04:32
Maybe wallnut signed a really short term agreement to stay with them until Friday.

Lol - top comment mate!

Lol i like it, post of the day!

Lol made me laugh

I'm glad other people found this comment amusing too, proper lol'd

Thanks guys

29 Aug 2012 20:58:23
Hi Eds,
What do you think of the Downing left-back role. Personally I think it will be no improvement of what we have already got and it is a test of seeing if he's worth keeping.
Thanks.
YNWA {Ed052's Note - Yes and yes}

Id rather have enrique over downing, but if kelly can perform well and stays injury free kelly for right back and johnson left back as he links up nicely with sterling

Maybe he is forcing too actually learn how too tackle so he his a better winger as well!

Personally id rather have jack robinson, martin kelly or danny wilson given a chance. i'd rather us cut our losses and offload him. he's a crap winger so he'll be an even worse left back.

at least the youngsters will learn from their errors. downing has had a year in the first team and he still hasn't improved

Acutally we got plenty covers for left back.

1. Enrique
2. Agger
3. Robinson
4. Johnson
5. Flanagan
6. Downing

All theese can do a great job, and dont forget about wilson

Left back in the dressing room

Ed052, I both appreciate your posted sentiments on this matter and share them. Bonus points for you!

- Logic {Ed052's Note - Thanks haha}

I would suggest rather u'll keep urself in place of downing & then comment.I really feel sorry for downing...
holy_red.

People could be suprised by this move definitly worth a try, I think it could be a good move BR wants attacking full backs and he hasn't many other options. Agger is a centre back who doesnt like playing left back. Johnson is our best Right back and should play there. Wilson needs to play on loan somewhere to see is he up to it. Flanno is a right back who is not ready for the first team and might never be. Robinson looks like being a top player but not ready yet. Thats leaves Enrique who is good but very questionable in the final third, goes around in circles when he gets forward.

In a few months BR will be telling us Downing will make a good corner flag.

I hop[e he was good at woodwork.

29 Aug 2012 20:54:59
just had a txt from a welsh mate, he said its all round swansea that liverpool have had a bid of 7mill accepted for sinclair! he reckons it will be all over tomorrows papers

Must be the fourth left wing they have no. He is good, and i wish its tru. But how about the right wing.. Dyer?

Didnt city offer 8 million

Hope you're right. Great value, cracking young winger with room to improve.
Would be a great signing.

Im from Swansea and i aint heard no news on Sinclair coming to us

Errrr No. Put your name on it!

Anonyred

Would rather have the man Swansea will replace him with: Hernandez of Valencia.

29 Aug 2012 20:40:53
heard walcott wont go until january :(

29 Aug 2012 20:36:30
reports suggest that huntelaar has agreed to join lfc in a 18 mil deal if they offload carroll.
any news ed {Ed052's Note - Not true }

Ask yourself why we'd sell Carroll for £18 million to buy a 29 year old Huntelaar for £18 million.

The Plank

If BR is spending 17M on a 29 year old with the money raised from the quick fire sale of a striker with a privious fee of 35m ... he needs his head looked.

29 Aug 2012 20:20:54
walcott will not be signed, we dont need another winger, we already have assaidi and borini, carrol may be sold and we are looking at maybe hunterlaar

Borini is a striker

Also it looks like Walcott is staying at Arsenal now.

Walcott is meant to be a forward

Borini is not a winger

Finally someone speaks sense!

Huntelaar! Why are so many rumour mongers convinced we're in the market for a 29 year old at a stupid price?

The Plank

By the way borini is a striker and assaidi cost us £3 million andso we obviously need another

29 Aug 2012 20:17:12
BR will try to sign Sturridge in a £10 million pound deal before the window shuts on Friday evening. I really hope we get this lad. he's very promising.

Chelski want £20 million minimum for him so we can TRY at £10 million and we'll get nowhere!

The Plank

We want £20m for Carroll. I bet we accept less.

Lads he aint worth 10 mill , he is honestly a rubbishe footballer

If we can get him for £10 million, it's a good deal.

I don't understand y people are so crazy about sturridge an average footballer & highly over rated...
holy_red.

29 Aug 2012 19:47:37
Pace on the right is what BR is after 3 names floating around UK press are Walcott, reject a contract, Sinclair, regected a contract and Lennon as AVB has told him Parker and Van Der Vaart can all go.
I think Man City will try to sign Walcott leaving BR to step in for Sinclair.

To be honest sinclair could be a possibility, now man city have made a bid, it opens the door for us to bid, i wouldn`t be surprised if he was a liverpool player by friday night

wardie

More swansea players, werd they finish last season

Childish response.. Joe Allen dominated the champions last weekend.. I don't see where your agument of where did they finish is going.. and with br as manager...Enlighten me..

29 Aug 2012 19:18:54
Deadline day triple swoop for Affelay, Walcott and Sturridge or Dempsey. Will we land 1,2 or all 3 of them...

Something will go down all 3 maybe not but im confident the walcott deal will be done. walcott cant stay now his lost the support and also value if arsenal keep him.

Yeh good call Walcott will sign......not!

Affelay forget about. Dempsey will be our only signing!

Triple swoop!! But we will land 1, 2 or three....... 8-D

Walcott has signed a short term deal, indicating he will not be sold this summer

Nicky D

1, 2, or all 3 when there's four names there?

Or probably none of them

1,2 or all 3.....with 4 names there :D priceless in here tonight

29 Aug 2012 19:42:28
Huntelaar to Liverpool 17 mil

For a 29 year old? I very much doubt it

MR EM

I don't believe FSG will allow a 29yo striker to come certainly not for 17 mil

Don't believe this at all but i hope we get him...

Red PG

Never going to happen mate!

The Plank

Hi eds, is there any intrest from liverpool in stephane mbia. Thanks {Ed052's Note - No}

I rather try get van wolfinsky (spelling) 23 yrs old better target long term

29 year old, but a clinical finisher. We need this kind of player.

17 for 3 years at its best

29 Aug 2012 19:09:03
Hi rEds,
We'll sign: Dempsey and Sturridge-85% sure of this and will cost around a combined £25 million. A LB may also sign if downing is sold.
We'll sell: Carroll £16 million, Spearing £3 £3 million, Adam £5 million and Downing £9 million (Quite unlikely). The Carroll deal will buy Sturridge and the rest Dempsey and some money left over to contribute to the earlier transfers.
Y.N.W.A.

Haven't you heard? Downing is our new Left Back. Not going anywhere.

Sorry to upset u but if u listern to Br today on Liverpool TV Downing willnt be sold he will cover LB and LW and Carroll will be staying because Newcastle willnt pay what LFC want 18mil.The only out goings i can see is Spearing ,Cole, and may be Adams but not to sure about Adams now with the injury to Lucas out for 2months.There will only be 1 in not sure who that will be could be a loan Alley from Barcalona

Bazza LFC

Ok but what about enrique {Ed052's Note -

29 Aug 2012 19:08:20
sorry eds u must had this one hundred times already but they are saying he has not signed any extention but they have agreed not sell this window is this just from the bbc and sly or is it true cheers ed52 apreciate all ur hard work and loved ur profile on theo

mike {Ed052's Note - Thanks mate. Well, it seems an odd one from my perspective; I will give a for explanation, so hopefully people stop asking

a) It may be a ploy to get a bid,
b) It may be a ploy to get more money

If its not a ploy of any sort,

a) They may have agreed to continue talks at a later date,
b) Arsenal hope he will sign a new deal

But if he does not sign a new contract,

a) He will go cheaply in January
b)Nothing in the summer.

I hope that clears it up. I think we will know more about him tommorrow mate, so it should all become clearer}

Think its a ploy to get more money. Just like u mentioned ed. But i feel he def will go and 80% sure to us.

Gezza1982

Cheers for the reply ed im hoping we get him think he could be the big peace of the jig saw we need for top four cheers

mike {Ed052's Note - Welcome}

Cheers Ed52!!

superb work and great competence! And even more patience !

Marc {Ed052's Note - Thanks}

He wont go for nothing in the summer, the rule for players under the age of 23 leaving involves a compensation awarded by an FA tribunal after judging his progress and club's efforts in the same. All of which will surely result in a fee greater than that arsenal paid southampton for him. Am i wrong eds?
Indian red {Ed052's Note - Don't think so}

29 Aug 2012 19:00:54
Dempsey at Abbey Sefton private clinic in Fazakerly. This is nailed on.

Ive just saw him walking out of the clinic and jumping into a waiting taxi. TO MELWOOD!! he said 100% sure of it. I also noticedin his hand was a well known crab cream. Seems he must have caught a dose over the summer.

29 Aug 2012 18:53:47
Al-habsi to lfc for £6 mil.

Al habsi would be a great keeper for liverpool

29 Aug 2012 18:44:48
Andy Carroll will not leave the club
Just wanted to state that

Right, so Milan come in with a final day bid of £35 and you're saying we're going to turn it down cos' categorically "Andy Carroll will not leave the club"...okay whatever.

Well stated my son!

Milan probably will bid £35 knowing them, i might outbid them with £50, i cant afford his wages though

Thanks Mrs Carroll! {Ed052's Note -

I for one, really hope he stays & is given a fair chance. at least one more season...

Andy Carroll will leave. He knows hes hardly gonna play!

29 Aug 2012 18:28:21
iv herd that the owners have freed some money for br to bring in new signings

It's a bit late, don't you think, they should have given it to him at the beginning of the window,I don't think anybody else will be coming in
Jonny 71

Forget this transfer budget thing; there is no budget. The owners are willing to make an investment if they believe it will benefit the club both on the pitch and financially. Their policy is to invest in young talented players with the potential to increase their value. There are also certain players of certain nationalities that may not increase in price but would increase the clubs global image such as Dempsey.

We will not sign any superstars but I'd expect a few signings that don't completely blow us away the instant they sign, but could well do come the end of the season or a few years down the line.

I agree bit too late we still need to replace some players maybe the american owners think the window shuts in january lol

I know, aeen them at Walton car booty on Sunday......

Sooty

Dont get me wrong I'm LFC 'till I die, but we're just not big enough at the moment to bring in megastars. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we did!!

29 Aug 2012 18:24:46
Walcott to stay at Arsenal for this season and we will turn our attentions to loaning Afellay now!
Also IF Carroll is sold we will look to Huntelaar as Sturridge price tag is £20Million plus!

Why would he stay for one more season without signing a new contract? He is out of contract next summer so he will either sign a new contract now or be sold.

29 Aug 2012 18:12:45
Hi all, got some info today...

I will say this in advance before people start jumping on my back. This info might already be common knowledge to most of yous before people start saying you are just copying everything being reported in the media.

Definitely expect a frantic deadline day, we will be one of the busiest clubs I reckon.

Carroll will be sold on Friday...

A bid for Walcott is imminent, however as of yet no bid placed...

Dempsey should go through, expect it to happen on Friday... Fulham in no position to reject our bid which will not be anywhere near their asking price, if they do he will go for peanuts/on a free.

Afellay is 100% not going to happen, it was on the cards but he has rejected us...

And there might be a surprise signing, can't give names as it's one who has not been linked yet to the club.

As I say, most of this is common knowledge but I'm just relaying what I got told from my source to you guys. It's up to you whether you believe me or not, I gain nothing out of it. No reason to lie.

Phelps

Thanks for clarifying. Personally, I'm just gonna wait till Friday towards the closing hours of the window, sit back and watch the fire works.
DAni

So you wont tell us the one player who`s name has not be mentioned before - strange as it would give your story credibility if it happens

Not a lot of that is common knowledge - sounds a lot more like guesswork.
Absolutely no guarantee of Carroll going, especially on the cheap.
No Walcott bid will happen, he will probably stay at Arsenal.
Dempsey will not go for less than what Fulhams asking price.
Afellay was never going to happen.

Not guesswork, only info gleaned from official site, and alleged decent newspaper sites in UK and Spain, don't listen or read other teams sites apart from the very reliable and believable Dave Whelan of course.

John B

If there is a player that hasn`t been linked with us this summer i`d be surprised, i think every player in europe has been mentioned on this site recently !!

I hope Carroll can make an appearance in the match against Hearts and squash the rumours.

Well considering walcott has just agreed a deal with arsenal to stay short term, he still hasn't signed a contract but has agreed not to move in this window then i would say there is no "imminent" bid being made and you and your source are full of sh*t

I want to follow you on twitter...!!

Assaidi wasn't mentioned on this site and that took everyone by surprise, it all depends whether info leaks out from the selling club as Liverpool tend to keep things tightly under wraps lately.

Andy

Let us know the name of this player after he's signed then ;)

That's the thing, I don't know who the player is, source can't reveal. Sorry.

And Carroll isn't in the squad tomorrow so he can't prove anyone wrong mate.

Phelps

"And there might be a surprise signing, can't give names as it's one who has not been linked yet to the club."

thank you for this stunning insight.

"as i cannot say" you dont know u mean

Carroll will NOT be sold

29 Aug 2012 16:30:38
BREAKING! - Walcott to remain at Arsenal for at least a further season. However will not be signing new contract with Gunners.

Great! That means a top club can sign him! 24m anyone?

So angry if this is true.
Why do arsenal want Walcott to leave on a free. That club arsenal are useless. Wenger Dosent know what he is doing

Hes only got 12 months left anyway

Never - might be more truth if you said jan - wenger won't let leave for nowt

Not going to happen. He'll be free next summer and there is no way on this Earth Arse will allow that to happen.

To be honest! I always thought it was a ploy to get a better deal of arsenal, look he turned down a 5 year contract worth £75,000 a week down, so r liverpool gonna better that? Scott sinclair seems a better and cheaper option , and he also has worked with brendan, and played with allen! Just can't wait till 23:59 fiday night! Then we all no what's what {Ed052's Note - Why can you not wait till then. I cannot wait until 22;59 myself}

What n leave for free next year? I think not! Thats not how arsenal n wenger conduct there business, he will leave, just hope its to us n not city! Thank god your back at school next week!

HARDY1892 YNWA

What is the point for arsenal if he goes on a free next year

I believe this is to make the player hand in a transfer request so it looks like the club has no choice but to sell him

Walcott will be out of the door if he doesnt sign a new deal, Fact. football is all about money, Arsenal will not risk loosing millions of pounds . FACT ...
RED HERTFORDSHIRE SCOUSE FOREVA

Why isn't this true?
a) Arsenal sell £15mil spend that or more to replace (with two days to go, good luck) balance £0

b) Walcott stays, already part of a system so no settle period goes free balance £0

Same balance sheet, its a business not a club, just like LFC we're no longer a club under FSG just a business

Not a chance of this rumor, why an earth would arsenal let him go for free when we all ready no arsenal are the tightest team in the league when it comes to spending money, as they try and look after there money. this rumor is a joke

Thats just what bbc think, the actual story was that they believe he will not be sold in this window, that doesn`t mean it is definate, if he decides he wants to speak to other teams i`m not so sure they will let his contract run down and risk losing him for nothing
wardie

Just means arsenal are being stubborn, they will sell i am sure, deadline day probably after he hands in a transfer request. J staff

Post is now confirmed in the Main Stream Media. Walcott to remain at Arsenal but without signing new contract. Regards. BREAKING!

OK, so how's the negotiation on the new contract going?

Arsenal let it slip that they have given a take it or you are sold final offer yesterday... so Walcott's agent let's it be known today that Walcott will stay and effectively go for a free next year.

Sounds like 'tit for tat' negotiation tactics to me.

Ball back in Arsenal's court...

Thomas

To the "balance zero":
It's a big difference.
In your way they balance zero but has to buy a player next year. The other way they already has a replacement in for next year...

Why is it 22:59 it colses ed's? {Ed052's Note - 11pm yes mate}

I wouldn't read too much into this, arsenal are not going to come out and state that walcotts for sale as this will give bidding clubs the upper hand to drive the price down. If somebody bids an acceptable amount for Walcott before the deadline I'd expect him to be sold. As it stands, it seems arsenal still hold all the cards which certainly wouldn't be the case if the made it public that he wanted to leave.

Andy

Calm down calm down lol
so many people commenting and virtually all of them are incapable of reading between the lines, firstly walcott doesnt want to leave arsenal for city chelsea liverpool or anyone else, secondly he and arsenal are happy to carry on talking to each other with the distinct aim of reaching an agreement, thirdly i strongly suspect that theo has been told that if he carries on improving arsenal will reassess thier offer, and lastly how refreshing is it for a player and a club to act like adults and trust each other to work the situation out
the end

Arsenal are a selling club. cesc, rvp, nasri, song, etc... If someone calls with the $$$ they will sell. The end.

Hearing from youth team coach Rafa is to take over at the acadamy, he,s prepared to to oversee all youth team developments.

Hope that's true

Rafa has a good eye for young players. Under him, we signed Sterling and Shelvey. As long as he doesn't try to undermine BR, I welcome him to take over the academy.

As if Brendan Rodgers would be prepared to have such a potentially devisive personality as part of his team.

For the love of Xabi, cant we please just move on!

Red G

I thought we signed shelvey under roy

This will not be happening if BR has his way. He will want someone who has the same football philosophy as him so the young players can make the transition from youth to first team..MonaghanRed

Ain't gonna happen! Not now and not ever!

The Plank

Its not goin to happen... ill tell you that now.

Makes sense when you think about it

Wonder how long it would take him before he starts demanding a transfer kitty and blaming poor perforance on lack of cash... Just don't let him anywhere near any player contract negotiations.
YNWA The Pirate

Rafa would not take a job as a back seat to anyone and BR would not have someone in the club that could undermine him. Will not happen.

Diggler

Give Rodolfo the job... so he can create a Barca-esque youth system... would be perfect for our passing style...

Shelvey and Joe Cole are Rafa's last signings. Roy's first signing is Paul Konchesky.

Does any one know why pep segura left, I read somewhere promises were broken? Any info

Me personally can't see rafa taking on a role such as that, he is a top class manager, who won la liga with a club that wasn't real madrid or barca, won the uefa cup, won a champions league ! He is a manager, not a academy director
He needs to move on
Kenny was a 1 off, no manager rarely gets a 2nd chance
But... Like most lfc fans, we all wish him good luck (great person), and will never be forgotten for what he achieved as our manager

Does rafa even know what a youth squad is?

I dont want the same thing to happen.. like wen the going gets tough they chant rafa rafa

Cole was one of Purslow's wasn't he ?

Shelvey was Rafa's last signing, Cole signed under Hodgson.

Lol u seen what rafa bought as kids where are they now?

Great news if so. raffa signed sterling etc etc. the man done wonders under bent owners. loves the club. legend

A! Rafa Benitez will never be allowed anywhere near this club again. He is incapable of accepting blame for anything which is why he's fallen out with just about every board he's worked with, not to mention his trusted number two, Pako Ayestarán... it all fell apart when Paco left because Rafa took over the 'coaching'.

MarkB. {Ed052's Note -

Rafa brought back Kenny, who eventually became boss, who is to say Rafa won't be boss again!

IRWT {Ed052's Note -

As much as I would welcome this, it is easily the most ridiculous rumour I have ever heard. Not sure what you think you are getting out of lying about this, I mean it's not as if we can all bet on this, is it?

Great! He can sign up some injured youngsters who don't want to play for the club. He can get them fit - then pay them to play for another club.

If Rafa is to manage a top side, he MUST have Pako Ayestarán at his side. The two of them, as a team, are a formidable management crew.

Emilio Izaguirre is on the clubs radar apparently, I know Kenny showed some interest in him last season before his injury, seem like we could be back in for him.

Why do my posts never come on?

Dempsey rhodes & wallcot all done deals
Spearing to bolton
cole to westham
carroll will leave for newcastle
Downing to sunderland
Adam will stay as cover for lucas & that will be our business done!
My source is the dad & agent of a sunderland striker who also works as a plumber in west yorkshire
Thought i would share with you

Please post ( want to know peoples thoughts

Downing joining Sunderland after they have just bought Adam Johnson No way

Adam isn't needed Shelvey and Henderson are much better cover in midfield. And we have just signed Nuri Sahin

Rhodes? Dempsey?

Dad and agent who also works as a plumber? Busy man

Yeah no chance of downing going to sunderland with johnson and McClean already there..

Probably due to the fact that ur chatting aLoad of utter rubbish, sorry if I sound harsh but fact is,

That all them deals u have stated will not happen,
I wouldn't let cole make my dinner for work so no way will westham pay 2-3m for him
I believe carrol will stay, if Newcastle want him they could get him today why wait to Friday as it will be a undisclosed fee anyway. And lPool would take anything from 15-20m , so BR can go any buy someone else.
We will leave it to late you buy any striker/forward. But I do see Dempsey coming in,

I dont know whether the Agent is the Plumber or the striker...but either way... Why would either of them a. Be an agent AND a Plumber OR more bizarrely b. A Premier league footballer a a Plumber..... I think what we have concluded here, is that you are a Plumb.

Sadly for you Arsenal have just announced Walcott staying so that deal ain't done and likely several others won't happen either.

The Plank

Your posts never come on as they probably all contain utter garbage like this one. how would your "source" who is an agent of a sunderland player know about deals liverpool are doing that dont concern him?

Agent and a plumber or striker and a plumber
and you want to know why no posts please

...and the Dad / agent of a Sunderland striker knows all the ins and outs at LFC, like Spearing, Dempsey, Adam and Cole? I think not...!!

The source is Frazier Campbell's dad then, hope your right, but don't think Rhodes will cut it at the top level.

Is he an agent on good money or a plumer on better money (well weekend rates anyway)

Did the plumber "leak" the information?

Liverpool won`t be signing anyone else this season unless they sell the likes of carroll or agger. the owners made it clear to rodgers that he will only be given £20m to spend and whatever he made by sales. hence borini, allen, assaidi, £28m. sales of kuyt, maxi, bellamy, aquillani, etc, £5m-£7m.

{Ed052's Note - Can the trolls stop trolling please?}

"Leak the information" classic lol

Pardew said carroll wont join newcastle {Ed052's Note - Yes, so that he will}

Spearings already on the way to bolton though is he not ? so your out there carrol wont be leaving hell warm the bench this season and well let him go for peanuts in january or next summer as it seems this is the current liverpool way to move players on atm :/

Ok seems like u like making stuff up, keep up the good work spoon

Wow he was right about The Walcott deal, he has just signed !!

Has rhodes signed for blackburn ??

An agent and a plumber, that's like Roy Rodgers and Clint Eastwood rolled into one, that's some super cowboying you got going on there boy!

Yeehaaaa!!

Clearly you're not right in the head. Maybe the reason you don't get posted. Anyone can make up complete garbage.

Liverpool are looking to offload 4 this window.

Adam who is attracting intrest from Fulham as Demebele looks certain to make his move to tottenham.

Spearing a straight fight between Wolves and Bolton

J.Cole Liverpool will release him of his contract and he will sign for QPR

Shelvey he will join Swansea on loan

In comings will be 3

Walcott will join for 12 million plus add ons which could result in 15 Million

Huntelaar - 10 Million

Bertrand - Loan with a view to buy

Shelvey out? You must be nuts. He plays well and is already half a first team member.

Bertrand in? Di Matteo must be nuts. He is trying to groom Bertrand to provide cover for (C)Ashley Cole. why would he try to sell him?

Why would we buy Ryan Bertrand. Shelvey will stay Rodgers is a big fan of his

No chance of Bertrand. Simply because Di Matteo loves him.

Hans

Walcott and bertrand i would like to join. But i dont think chelsea woukd let bertrand go, especially on loan.

Also i would like to see sinclair

He will join Swansea on loan. He is young and isnt really ready for the Liverpool 1st team especially as we have Sahin now.

I too heard the Bertrand rumour to be honest

Shelvey going nowhere and haven't you heard Lucas likely to be out for 3 months at least.Arsenal have said Walcott staying.Huntelaar? You have to be joking mate!Terribly badly invented rumours.

The Plank

Why wuld we get rid of Shelvey on loan when he is clearly above Henderson in the pecking order?

Shelves won't leave

Wouldnt let shelvey go after his performance on sunday, he was superb, the best ive seen him play for us...pity about Lucas, but at least we have cover for him this time. hope we sign a centre forward b4 deadline...YNWA

{Ed052's Note - Hello all, a new profile has just gone up on the profiles site. It is of our one and only Sebastain Coates, who, in my opinion will be a real star. There are a couple of videos, and an in depth and quick review of the player on the profile, so please check it out!!

http://player-profiles.co.uk/sebastian-coates.php

Thanks}

Good for you

Thanks! Totally agree he will be a star. Once he gets a bit of confidence up he will be fantastic. The way he played at the copa America 2 years ago at 18 was amazing!

Sinclair is coming in thanks to Man City instigating transfer move,so Lfc can now bid. This was done on agreement that Agger will move to Eastlands.Walcott will not be coming,we are a pawn in contract negotiations.

Why when they just bought a new CB...

No this is all rubbish. 1stly Sinclair is going to man city a payment of 7m was accepted today. Secondly Agger will not be leaving hence the reason why City signed a CB today. 3rdly Walcott has made it clear he will only Leave Arsenal for Liverpool and wont accept 75 K a week judging by the Reaction of Arsenal they wont up it and Walcott wil join Liverpool on Frday Probably around 10.59pm

Hope not I hate Sinclair. Would rather have Walcott. But should have moved for Adam Johnson

29 Aug 2012 15:12:21
Lucas out for 3 months BR to keep spearing but will still let Adam and cole go.

Bad choice Adam is better than Spearing. Bad luck for Lucas we will definitely miss him - get fit soon

I still believe he should sell them both we have Allen, Sahin, Gerrard, Shelvey, Henderson and none on these players have huge injure worries (except Gerrard) he is all for giving Youth a chance so i would see no reason why he would keep either of the two.

I think Allen, Gerrard & Sahin will more than likely be first choice CM 3, and we still have Shelvey & Henderson as cover, so no reason to keep him really.

Don't need to keep Spearing because Lucas is out, we have enough cover, Spearing didnt get a shot on Sunday, BR will play Shelvey before Spearing every time.

Diggler

Why keep Spearing. Sahin and Allen can cover Lucas' specific deep lying position. Henderson and Shelvey can also rotate through. It's only 2 months, we have five midfielders that can rotate.

I think Spearing is unaffected by Lucas. Sahin, Gerrard, Allen, Shelvey, Henderson, Adam.

He will want 6 centre midfielders, 2 for every spot. Allen is the only one who can competantly play the defensive mid role so a lot of pressure on him to stay fit and play a lot of games. I would still sell both if the offer comes good but bring in someone like coady to train more with the first team so he is ready to step in if needed.

Well said diggier

We do have a big group of midfielders anyway. Gerrard, Allen,Sahin, Shelvey, Henderson and obviously the injured Lucas. So I couldn't really see eiether spearing or Adam getting into the team on a regular basis. Only the odd carling cup game

They will still both go now sahin Allen gerrard and shelvey plus resverve players

Great decision if that is the case

I think Hendo should up his defence game and cover for Lucas. Hendo can be the next Scott Parker.

Hold onto shelvey, let spearing and adam go, throw in downing too whie you're at it!

I would still get rid of Adam and Spearing and give Suso a back up role - CM: Gerrard; Sahin; Allen; Henderson; Shelvey; Suso.

29 Aug 2012 15:08:03
A cheeky 15m bid for evertons nickia jelavic may tempt the bluenoses to sell

Aye great idea when we could have had him for 6m about 3 months ago or whenever.

I reckon Jelavic will be play well until about November or so.

Then he'll drop off to scoring a goal evey 5 games like nearly every other striker the Bitters have had in the last decade have ended up doing. Seriously, you'll realise about March or thereabouts when they have a televised match Martin Tyler mentions that Jelavic has only scored twice in the league since Christmas.

They'd love it if we gave them £15m for him.

- Something Red -

Whats cheeky about 15m?

Hes not better than carroll, post good stuff or do one. that comment belongs on

Why wud jelavic got to a team on the slide

Carroll better than Jelavic ? What you been smoking lid ? Whatever it is it's not doing you any good cos clearly you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

29 Aug 2012 15:01:53
Liverpool to sell Spearing, Adam, Cole & Carroll for around £25m

which they will use to get 2-3 players in

Dempsey - £7m
Walcott - £14m
either a LB or another attacker.

Havnt you heard downing is our new LB! Cant really see how because he is a rubbish bag in a tackle.

Adam wont be sold now unless we sign a defensive mid due to lucas being injured

I think this lucas injury may have saved either spearing's or Adam's liverpool career until January at least.

We gonna use adam as DM? Makes sense since hes so good in the tackle..

Not Dempsey his attitude is awful.

29 Aug 2012 14:12:34
Spearing to sign for Bolton in the next 24 hours. Adam or Downing to be used as bait to get Dempsey from Fulham and Walcott to sign in this window as he couldn't agree a new deal at Arsenal! he is also an LFC fan which helps.

I would rather sell Adam than downing. Downing could be used as an emergency
Eft back. Hope Dempsey deal Dosent happen, wouldn't mind Walcott

So you been reading the papers i see.

Liverpool WILL NOT be selling Andy Caroll.

Hope this statement is true

Great he adds another dimension to the game and will be better as the pressure is off. remember not all people can settle and play for Lfc straight away. barros was great but never fired at Lfc like at other clubs IRISHRED1995

Out of all these rumours I hope this one is true - Big Andy looks determined to prove himself and I want him to be firing them in for us not a rival. My seven year old was in tears when I warned him that AC would probably leave and he knows far more about footie than I do! Come on BR, get behind Carroll!

You DO NOT know this, people need to open their eyes and realise he's not good enough, if he were, surely there would be teams falling over themselves to get him, and better teams than tight ar5e newcastle and west ham. also baros? has been rubbish wherever he's played, only ever played well for czech republic

I hope you're right! jayo

{Ed052's Note - Just to remind you all that the tree most likely people to sign for LFC have all been profiled, so please go and take a look;

Theo Walcott - http://player-profiles.co.uk/theo-walcott.php
Scott Sinclair - http://player-profiles.co.uk/scott-sinclair.php
Clint Dempsey - http://player-profiles.co.uk/clint-dempsey.php

Many thanks.}

Who do you think will leaf for those tree to come in! {Ed052's Note - Dempsey and one of the other two}

I'd only want Walcott out of them

Who's hitting the unbelievable button for this?
You can see it's true by just going on the flippin' website!

There is no need what so ever for Scott Sinclair as we have Sterling and Assaidi so if we are in for him we won't pay Swansea's price (therefor won't sign him)

We need RWF/Striker which Walcott ticks all the boxes and an all rounder if Spearing, Cole, Adam are sold or loaned out which all seem likely.

Walcott around £12m - £14m
Dempsey around £7m

The Owners would make funds available for Theo regardless of out goings as he fits the policy; young, talented, good value for money and hugely profitable in the future.

BR however has been told that due to Dempsey's age he needs to sell to buy but they have given BR permission to pursue him as they do think Clint will add quality to the team.

Can't really see the benefit of Dempsey.
Money up front and the demands of a long and expensive salary.
He's 29, so realistically this could be his last contract in the EPL.

As for Walcot and Sinclair - fundamentally, they are the same player! why would we buy both.
we might try a last ditch on which-ever one Man City dont go for. They shouldn't go for both.
Personally, I would prefer Sinclair as I think Walcott at his best now, but Sinclair has more to come.

I suppose you couldnt really see the benefit when GaryMac joined us, or when Utd signed Sheringham either?

I do agree that Sinclair has much more upside than Walcott though....younger, fitter and more adaptable....can play right across front 3 and arguably better end product.

WelshRed9

I find this unbeleafable oak-A !! B

29 Aug 2012 13:28:33
Walcott willing to talk to Liverpool representives

If Arsenal only offer Walcott 75k pw then we could offer just 85k plus a £2m signing on fee to sweeten the deal. add that to a 13-14m price tag then i think its good business.

plus we get to flaunt Suarez, Skrtel signing new deals, Agger in talks to sign a new deal, rejecting advances from City ( something his previous team mates didn't do).

on top of that beating arsenal to Sahin, first team football plus higher wages than arsenal = a win, win, win.

Just been on a web site that arsenal and Walcott have agreed a deal for Walcott to stay......for now at least.

29 Aug 2012 13:27:16
We are going to sign Walcott and dempsey and another striker and we are going to sell Adam and spearing Adam tomsunderland and spearing to Bolton

Thanks Kyle8

Don't think Adam will be leaving now with Lucas out for three months : (

Spoons

Think your right with dempsey and wallcott mate. not sure on striker as would like see carroll stay. also agree with spearing and adam out and maybe downing

I would be so happy if that were true,

Imagine

Theo Walcott £14m
Clint Dempsey £7m
Liandro Lopez £13.5m
£34.5m

selling
Charlie Adam £5.5m
Jay Spearing £2.5m
Joe Cole £2m
Andy Carroll £15m
Dani Pacheco £2m
(Awol) Doni - free
£27m

29 Aug 2012 13:26:34
Bolton have had a bid accepted for jay spearing but he will be heading to London instead, to QPR. Expect a bid tonight or tomorrow.....

So he'll be off to QPR who according to you have yet to put in a bid?

29 Aug 2012 13:23:34
The Walcott, Come to Liverpool and make your Daddy proud.

29 Aug 2012 13:18:01
Affellay no longer a target, likely to join either Schalke or Tottenham on loan.

Theo Walcott to join for 15M, his girlfriend is renting Dirk Kuyt's property.

When Carroll has moved on, likely to be January, Liverpool will turn attention to Lewandowski and Klaas Jan Huntelaar

T

Carroll will stay. He will prove his point and will become an Anfield hero am sure of it. Rodgers will give him a chance. The crowd and fans love him

Why are so many people convinced we are interested in Huntelaar? He is absolutely rubbish.

29 Aug 2012 13:06:39
This is our transfer window reality:

IN

Sturridge or Huntelaar (Sturridge Preferred by BR)

Affaley (Loan) or Walcott (Both wanted by BR but sales needed for both to happen)

Dempsey (It will happen)

Out

Carroll - Deadline day (Undisclosed but 16-18 expected)
Adam - Everton
Spearing - Bolton or Swansea
Cole - Anyone if they can find a taker
Doni - Who cares (Same as above)

there has been one other striker mentioned who has been approached informally and this is John Guidetti. the concern over this serious rumour is that it could open a Deadline Day deal with City for Agger that would give us a young quality striker and that money added to the sale of Carroll would fund all the attacking Midfield/Midfield players above and end the Sturridge/Huntelaar interest. There is a strong chance that THIS is the late deal that is being discussed and is stalling the striker moves.

Friday is D-Day..........

City just signed another defender, im assuming/hoping thats the extra body they wanted in that position - cant see why they want another CB with lescott, kompany, toure, new dude, savic - and pay well over 20m just to be 'competition'

So we sell Agger on the last day of the window and replace him with who? Coates and Skrtel and the creaking Carra would be our only recognised centre backs.Oh and don't give me the "Kelly could play CB" because he hasn't yet had a spell there in the 1st team.

The Plank

Huntelaar preferred by Suarez and the whole team

Downing to be sold fee in region of 10-12M (deadline day) few un-named clubs shown interreas as BR wants him to play LB.
Walcott to be finalised over nite to mid morning believed fee is around 13m plus add ons.
Caroll leaving iminant for undisclosed fee lower than is wanted.
Dempsey in the balance but looks like will go ahead last minute.
Spearing to Bolton expect confirmation soon.
Cole to QPR or West Ham tomorrow 2.5m

Read it hear 1st

Read what Rodgers has just said about Downing TODAY!

He's staying and going to be a utility man for the left flank defence and attack. It's on the LFCTV website.

Spurs are apparently favourites to take Affelay

I'd love him at Liverpool, very technical. {Ed052's Note -

Cant see Downing going, Walcott would be great but doubt will happen, Carroll will stay, Newcastle conceded cannot afford him, Dempsey will come in from funds raised from Adam/Spearing, Cole will stay, high wages, always injured, why would you buy him?! possible big name loan signings but no buys apart from Dempsey.

Read it here first? not one single new piece of information. in fact most of it we are bored to death off.
safe

No-one in their right mind would pay 10m for downing.

Yep - read it there first - in my opinion you may have guessed maybe 2 or 3 things right.

John B

No... All recycled rumours.

Why are all these deals supposed to take place at the last minute? If they're decided then do them now!

The Plank

Downing won't be sold. We don't have enough depth to do that. I agree that Walcott will become a liverpool player.
Carroll will be STAYING. Spearing will be loaned to Bolton for a season. Even though I'd think he'd be great at everton

Downing at left back, that scares me,
The lads rubbish scared of running at players never mind players running at him all game, he bottles the 50/50 challenges and for his sake lets hope carras not in the same back 4 or he will be getting sum bollorkings

29 Aug 2012 12:59:19
I've just had a call from a mate saying we've signed Affelay , he didn't
know if it was loan or proper signing. I imagine it's a loan.
Eds out of curiosity ,in your opinions what is the price on Falcao and his
availabilitiy ?
Cheers
JR {Ed052's Note - His quality would mean he could be worth £80 m+, he may be avaliable at around £40-£50m}

Have any of the eds got any news on Afellay? I guess there would be huge interest in him should he be available

If he was to arrive, we'd have another very good player on our hands.

RedSG {Ed052's Note - I dont think he will}

I've read that Porto are suing Atletic for not paying the money owed to Porto for Falcao.

Atletico have no money to pay it and are forced to sell for a profit and pay Porto what is owed. But it was a lot of if this and then that kinda crap.

Would be an outstanding player to have along side Suarez but sadly we don't seem to have the funds or the football he wants to play; Champions League.

I would have used the Torres money to sign Falcao. Not Downing and Henderson

I'd get some new mates if I were you they're clearly liars

Liverpool in for Sinclair. Zaydan123

Hope so, i rate the lad and he's quite productive with the ball and scored 27 goals in 50 games for Rodgers in the Championship which is a feat.

Scored 8 last season in the Premiership and would be very good for Liverpool i believe.

Walcott > Sinclair

So a player who is greedily refusing a contract at arsenal because he wants more money, will join liverpool even though they wont be able to match the wages of man city? ok

I hope not, just another winger that wouldnt make the cut.

Why don't LFC offer Downing as a swap? Would be a good deal I reckon
Learpholl

Hope your wrong

Theo walcott prefers liverpool and would not consider man city as he is a liverpool fan also dempsey will join on deadline day
Harkash

Theo is a Saints fan

Theo is a lifelong Liverpool fan.

What does being a fan have to do with anything? These are business men making a business decision, if this is such an important factor for fans when it comes to players why are so many keen for Carragher and Spearing to go? Fans don't come any bigger than these lads! Ged

Theo is NOT a Saints fan. He is a Liverpool fan, and he describes May 25th 2005 as one of the greatest nights of his life

Its all about money. whoever offers the most money will gt him. if city want him badly enough we have no chance

Saints fan?? I suggest that you go to the official liverpool site and do a search on walcott'. 5 results. Pick the 3rd with the subject "Theo Walcott: Why I'm a Liverpool fan".

I could have pointed you to his his wiki page which also states this but then I'd have been shot down...

No he is a long life LFC fan

Nah, he's a boyhood Liverpool that came through the Southampton Academy and then the first team for about 22 matches before Wenger poached him and his profile rose with a surprise call up to Sven's England squad, although he didn't feature in any of the games, it was thought the experience would bode well for his future with the international set-up.

Theo is a Liverpool fan and now might become a Liverpool player. Not my favoured choice but Rodgers has done well in the market and refreshed the team and spirit of the squad quite well.

If Theo has any ambition he will sign for City.

Err..., Correction, If Theo has any ambition to stay on the bench and watch Silva and Nasri play on the wings, he will sign for City. If Theo has a brain(which he clearly does) and also warrants first team football, then Liverpool is the club he will sign for....

Defoe, no thanks

So according to you, we won't be replacing Daniel Agger? We are also going to keep Carroll and bring in Walcott.

As well as bringing in a utility player who's naturally right footed, who played left back last season although Newcastle are trying to replace him with Debauchy, even though Debauchy's chairman said he's not going to be allowed to leave in this window.

Stranger things have happened but i'm not convinced. Ryan Taylor was linked under Kenny Dalglish's management. If it happens i'll well done you though.

News form Madrid is that Kaka is telling his friends he'll be wearing red next season and is looking forward to linking up with an international team mate in the UK. Liverpool and Lucas seem to be the names in question...

Can be manu too....
I don't think we can afford him

Anderson of man utd? ramires of chelsea?

Never in a million years especially after what his mrs has said.

Assuming he even has Tweeted that:

Couldn't possibly be Man U and Anderson (who would've been in the Brazil team when Kaka was at his peak)?

Or Arsenal and Andre Santos?

Nah. Must be us and Lucas. Clearly. Only red team in England with a Brazilian player...

- Something Red -

United and Anderson.

Also why would Kaka start talking like the riddler all of a sudden? This clearly isnt true.

What about Rafael and Man united. also fits.

He might be joining Arsenal or Man U but he certainly won't be playing for us.

The Plank

His wife said if he leaves it will only be to Brazil.

There is also Anderson from Man u. Not that I believe what u say

This has been long touted around. Kaka wants to leave Madrid for first team football and the Premiership is a likely destination.

Mourinho explained the Kaka situation is very different from the Sahin one, as Kaka commanded such a transfer fee.

I don't believe it will happen, it's a big gamble and would be highly expensive. Why didn't Kaka go to Tottenham on loan to make up for Modric leaving!?

No doubt if Real Madrid thought of shifting Kaka then they'd have tried to do it with their biggest deal of the Summer Modric.

They still might, Sandro plays for Brazil and Tottenham......

Yes it is conceivable he would talk in riddles to his friends. I do it to mine all the time.

There is also Anderson from Man u. Not that I believe what u say

Anderson and man u aswell
Lfclee

Man U, Rafael?

Next season (2013/2014)?

Mattyred

Utd is the team he is going to

United, Rafael, Anderson.

What about Guilherme de Prado at Southampton lol

Or man u an anderson r rafael r arsenal n santos

Yeah Southampton sounds the most likely

More likely helping to sell shirts at Utd.,,

You cant have 2 players from the same team on loan at the same unless 1 has an option to buy clause

To be honest even if you are true why would we want him??? his an old washed up has been that would demand huge wages. also if we signed every player we was linked with we would off gone bust by now

Tosh!
we couldnt pay his wages.

Kaka wont be joining the reds. We dont need him.

Don't need him

Ahhhhh we will be lucky to get anyone with quality

Or could it be Rafael at Utd

Your talking KAKA,mate!

I no this post is rubbish but say we do entertain it then red (man u) team mate(anderson,rafael)..... p.s your an person

Ac Milan and Pato and robinho

Man united and Anderson? The twins?

Just heard form an inside source that Joe Cole will be used as counterweight in the Walcott deal which will also see us take Squillaci from the Gooners. Source is reputable...fact.

What is that source, that is the only thing that will help here mate

Why on earth would Arsenal want Joe Cole? This must be the worst rumour I've read since the window opened.

The Plank

Squillaci are you mad, he is one of the worst CB in the premier league

Then put your name so we can 'grat you when it comes true...

Why on earth would arsenal be interested in joe cole?

Then put your name so we can 'grat you when it comes true...

Why on earth would arsenal be interested in joe cole?

The source is HP very reputable.

Utterly rediculous

Seb Squillaci is terrible, also I don't think Wenger would pay Cole more than he was willing to pay Walcott.

Why on earth would arsenal be interested in joe cole?

The slowest midfielder will be wanted by arsenal? to replace a fast one.
never happening
safa

Wenger can identify talent better than most he likes 2 make players and then sell y wuld he buy cole who is alredy past his prime
vivek12011

Ahahah person

"Source is refutable"

I would go with that.

29 Aug 2012 09:00:47
I personally think that we will sign Walcott and Dempsey..

Obviously as i mentioned a while ago Walcott was a target..

I cant tell you what Walcott is thinking but i do know the club want him..

Cheers

Macca
{Ed033's Note - confirmed as the real Macca

Yeah I can definitely go with that. Gazline

Any whispers of jordan rhodes

Hope so. We have been missing quality wingers fro some years now. Walcott's pace something we've not had. Dempsey can play striker aswell and excellent playmaker. Just hope this doesnt stop Sterling getting games.

If it's funded by Carrol, Spearing, Adam and Cole. I'd be happy with that and our overall business

What about carroll and agger ? will they stay?
Esso

If we get those two this will have been the best transfer window ever, and all the fsg and br haters can hang there head in shame

john

Just wondering.. there hasn't been any mention of defenders being linked recently. We really need cover in the LB position.

I'd take walcott as the pacey right winger we've lacked for yrs! Him an sterling running at any full backs must be feared! Walcott seems to of been around for ages and is familiar with the prem, may even bring about downings exit?
T bone.

29 Aug 2012 12:44:33
Bringing in those 2 and keeping hold of Agger would be a very good final week of the transfer window for me.

Any news on outgoings Macca

RedSG

In reply to the LB cover comment.

It looks like BR and downing are open to him training as a LB. With him and robinson we'd be fine, but obviously takes time to come fully acustomed.

I really hope this is not true.

All he has is pace and is overated for being 'british'

if you think about it...dembele will go for 15mil with much less wages.

LFC need to be more shrewd in the market

If this happens, i think a top 4 finish is on the cards. the performance against City was superb, if we keep that up, i reckon we will battle it out with Chelsea!

29 Aug 2012 12:53:20
Macca's posts are like gold dust in a sandstorm. Shiny easy to follow and worthwhile reading. :)

I'm not a fan of Theo Walcott, but the moment he signs, if he does sign, which i now (because Macca's posts have been consistent) believe he will. Then he's the best Theo Walcott in the World and he certainly plays for the best club in my World.

Com'on then Theo, show us what you can do and what you're made of.

Ollieston.

I'm actually not a fan of Walcott, any arsenal fan who watches him regularly will tell you he's a headless chicken thats got pace but no end product. I think it could be a mistake to sign him. Still, on the other hand, its an upgrade on Downing thats for sure!

29 Aug 2012 12:55:26
So excited Macca! Never wanted you to be right more than now.

29 Aug 2012 12:55:43
Macca, eds, does this mean these two are the only deals left that were in for? as in no to affelay and other targets?

29 Aug 2012 12:57:08
Thanks Macca. Hope its true regarding these players. As ever you the man

29 Aug 2012 12:57:43
Cheers Macca I'd be very very happy with this and indeed our summer signings combined. Walcott has achieved so much that I think people forget he's only 23.

Kenny the Red

If all this really goes through without having to sell Agger or Henderson, and by getting rid off Adam, Cole and Speraring I think it is the best window in years.

I still would be sorry for Big Andy if he had to go, but I really believe that he will have a good career.

After all the last years trouble with people slating him, my only hope is that the same people won't slate BR once Big Andy scored three against us next time we play his future club because I really like the guy

Marc

Reply to t bone
Downing could be used as cover for lb

I would be very happy with walcott that would make it a very good transfer window for liverpool in my opinion and show the clubs intent going forward.
Fans have complained about a lack of pace for years at liverpool walcott would certainly add pace i think he would be an amazing signing less sure of dempsey though i must say but if it happens i trust BR

LFC80

Will be hAppy with dempsey... Dont rate walcott at all if honest but if are to get him lets hope he proves me wrong
Rickblfc....

You are a ledgend mate , thanks for your time and effort in keeping us all informed........andy.

Walcott 11 goals and 13 assists in the league last season. Dempsey 17 league goals. Just what we need. Fulham could go for a deal involving Adam with Dembele on his way out. If Walcott is available we should definitely go for him.

Red Ollie

Thanks great news if it happens. Keep us informed all the way until the window closes. Many thanks.
Red sheep.G

I never used to be walcott's biggest fan but I can see him hitting it off at Liverpool (just a feeling) think he would be a great poacher especially with Brendan's coaching now for James McCarthy! For next season. Paisley's genius

Still a chance of getting Walcott even though he has 'agreed' to stay at the arse?

29 Aug 2012 12:04:47
Carroll will stay. Joe cole will stay to fight for his place. There may be a bid for Walcott

Theres no more money.... Walcott will cost over 10 million so if carroll stays were is the money coming from for theo ?

Downing is our new left back according to Rodgers, it might have been in jest, but i'm not so sure. Explaining that when at Middlesbrough in the Uefa cup final run Downing played there and was very effective.

Carroll should stay, if Rodgers gets that lad firing on all cylinders he's going to be fantastic and Rodgers would get applauds from pundits galore. The owners no doubt would be pleased to see it as well. As would the fans, in fact everyone except our rivals, so just us. :)

Cole should go, he is a mistake from two managers ago. Drawing big wagers out of the kitty and not giving much back in return except a video diary oh, and telling Hazard to sign for Chelsea. Go to QPR, WestHam, Southampton wherever just leave.

I want Adam to stay, he's good although overshadowed last season, he proved what he can do, he just needs to be utilised in the same way he was at Blackpool, which Rodgers eluded to in a recent interview about Adam.

{Ed052's Note - Hello all. I would just like to tell you all that my latest profile of Theo Walcott has now been uploaded. He is a player that could definitely come to Liverpool, especially with what Macca has said, Theo rejecting a new contract etc. All you need to know if in his profile which can be found at; http://player-profiles.co.uk/theo-walcott.php

Thanks}

Well he is a Liverpool fan

Thanks Ed052, much appreciated, I'm not confident Walcott would be worth the money but your opinion certainly reassured me {Ed052's Note - Welcome}

Dont even known why we want to sign walcott, not even a good player

29 Aug 2012 11:32:34
There will be a few out-goings announced shortly, Cole heading to QPR for 4 million while Spearing will be heading to Bolton/Wolves either on loan or for around 3 million. If Carroll goes, which is still 50/50 expect a bid for Huntelaar, whilse a bid have been made for Walcott its far off Arsenals 15million price tag. Dempsey is still up in the air with BR looking to get him on the cheap(which is within his rights) so maybe a deal can be done if Adam excepts the fact he has no future at the club.

Rodgers said the other day that he didn't want Charlie Adam to leave.

He said the same thing about Maxi, Cole and Aquilani so...

So we'll sell a young big strong good in the air player to sign a 29 year old Huntelaar? No way Jose! Not a chance!

The Plank

BR has bid for serb CF miralem sulejmani 9m, he has handed in transfer request saying he wants to move.

thoughts eds, fellow supporters?

Why-Aye!! {Ed052's Note - Where do you hear this?}

Ajax received an offer form an English club but Marc Overmas refuse to reveal the club's name. Can't say it's Liverpool because West Ham's name was mentioned in the article from a website.

He seen on a website that he interested in leaving ajax. not true at all the club is West Ham.

I heard we were tracking the guys in last year's Jan window but havent heard further info since. Is he any good? Could be another one coming in under the radar!

Can't see it happen but he'd be a cracking signing in my opinion! Althought Ajax have been keen to offload for a while now, which makes you wonder.

Ojay

It was on ssn and unnamed club want him n ajax lettinh m go
5gold stars

Another striker who doesn't score enough goals, in a free scoring league.

141 games for Ajax and 38 goals in all competition. That makes Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge look half decent.

Watch this space, ive heard the same

If his market value is 6-7m euros why bid 9m for someone who has had 4 injuries in the last 2 seasons?

Even if this is true..
ajax signed him for 16 million, don't really think they would sell for just 9..
anyway if we get dempsey and walcott in and sell carroll, adam, cole etc that should be enough IMO..

He has certainly rejected a new contract at Ajax and they have now said he is available. "There is confirmed interest from one club", but the club hasn't been revealed - a website.

Now that's a good rumour. His contract runs out at the ends soon. He played for AJAX with Auarez already.

He plays on the right wing for Ajax and is left footed with pace. He goal scoring record for such position is good although Walcot would be better choice in my opinion as this guy is a Man Utd fan that wanted to emulate Van Nistleroy and said he would become the best player in the world. I expect Spurs have bid for him as he seems like an AVB type buy.

The voices, the voices in his head...

29 Aug 2012 11:26:38
I've just been told that Theo Wallcott has made it clear to Arsene Wenger and his representatives that he would only consider a move to Liverpool.

Apparently Man City are not even interested in signing the forward.

Daniel Narciso YNWA

Can't see it to be honest

So from your recent predictions Daniel can we assume he is going to city then

29 Aug 2012 10:48:20
Dempsey will sign on Friday and we are going to submit an 11.5m bid for Walcott today.
Man City will offer a much higher wage but if he loves Liverpool as he has stated, he will accept 80k a week which is the wage we will offer him.
Adam will stay until January as cover, but Spearing will go today and and Carroll will go on Friday.
Affellay is the other option should Walcott decide money is his sole aim in life.

Sounds genuine, who has posted this ?

29 Aug 2012 10:35:35
Ed's.
I tried to post on here some weeks ago[before it was in the press etc] that Mancini had blown his top with Marwood.
I got this through a friend who is a coach at City.
I also posted that Johnson was not interested in joining Liverpool as part of the Agger deal as he wanted to go back to the North East and Liverpool were trying to do a deal involving Tevez with the Agger deal but Mancini laughed it off.
Both these did not make it on to the site.
I have now been told that City have been told by Walcott's agent that he really wants to join Liverpool as he is a Liverpool fan but this will not deter City from making a bid if he becomes available.
BR knows he wants to join us but it is just a question of seeing if we can offer him a better contract than Arsenal, if he doesnt sign another contract, although obviously with the money City have we might struggle to match their offer.
Also been told that Huntelaar's agent is putting it about that he could move to the Premiership but only for silly money which we will not match but City might be interested if they unload Dzecko.
Hopefully Walcotts' desire to join his boyhood club might swing it for us.
Fulham just playing brinkmanship with us over Dempsey who will sign tomorrow or Friday.
Another forward will sign but i dont think it will be anyone we expected it to be!
Thanks Ed's for the job you are doing in trying to keep everyone's expectations realistic as some of the names you see put around who will join is would never join us or could ever join us! {Ed049's Note - it's a pity you didn't sign off your post.}

If you live in Liverpool I know the fella you speak of, he was sure Adam Johnson was on his way to us before the change in management etc. sounds like he knows his stuff. U14 coach I believe.

Manali cream

Good post . I for one hope Walcott signs as I believe BR will make him a better player

Sorry eds
names bhav
shall i put email add too

All sounds fairly legit.
Hope it's all true bhav.

Michael Owen to sign on a free on Friday night. Back up striker.

Would have no issue with this but just can't see it happening -

I love Friday Night Fights

Not happening

Yeah he'll sign on Friday - for Stoke or someone else bar LFC.
Irishdom15

It's not Friday the 13th is it , or Halloween ? Nearly19

Star signing ?

Owen isn't any good, although he once was. He scored 158 goals playing 297 games for Liverpool, (more than 1 goal every 2 matches played).

Since he left Liverpool he has played 176 games in all for Real Madrid, Newcastle and Man Utd, managing a total of 64 goals.

He isn't the player he was and he is rapidly fading at the age of 32, 33 in 3 months time or so. We really should be looking at giving Owen a bumper pay day deal. Let him go to Stoke or where ever and work his a$$ off for his money.

Let's see: striker who relied on his acceleration and speed to score before, now 32, with a battered hamstring amongst numerous injuries, wanting crazy wages, who burned bridges with lfc by being a horrid human being more concerned with owen fc and ingerlund and topped it off by joining the shower, while mind you, the club has options like ibe and morgan, or if ever, just hold on to that geordie giant.

see kids? don't do drugs. you'll post sh!t like this.

I can't believe any reds would accept this. There are some plastics about.

DaveyBootle

We can offer him a pay-as-you-play scheme. If he prefers the treatment room rather than playing, he is always welcome to sit in there, wasting his own time.

Yeah and me to at 40 years old, but much less injury prone than Owen and I am also a damn sight more loyal to my roots too.

Dude, I would be surprised if Owen stays in the prem this season. No one wants him due to his injury proneness.

I think this would be a great signing he is good for a few goals
Impact sub only ( but cant see it happening )

Owen is flogging his A**E around any club daft enough to pay him but he won't be joining us!

The Plank

We certainly dont want Owen back!
He,s beginning to look a bit sad and desparate now. Obviously he still thinks he's Premiership quality.....Tranmere maybe??

Never going to happen
safa

I hope not, he'll play 60 mins get injured and spend 5 weeks rehab only to do the same again

29 Aug 2012 09:29:11
walcott for sale! only 12m pounds, hope we'll get him :)
source: Heinze

Theo Walcott's Arsenal career.
222 games for Arsenal, 42 goals and 40 assists in all competitions.

I prefer Scott Sinclair myself, he scored 27 goals in 50 games for Swansea, under Rodgers in the Championship. He scored 8 last season for Swansea under Rodgers in the Premiership. He's a few million cheaper in transfer price and no doubt overall wage command compared to Theo Walcott's £100k+ demands.

Also although Scott Sinclair has been farmed out to many clubs in his Chelsea days he has managed to score 45 goals in 164 games as a career total and although it may have been at a lower league level, they mainly have been scored whilst under the management and guidance of Brendan Rodgers.

Sinclair is more productive in my opinion and cheaper. Whether some of the fans would be accepting of yet another ex-Chelsea youth and yet another former Swansea player remains to be seen or not. I for one would be extremely pleased with Sinclair's arrival. Not so much with high maintenance Walcott.

Ollieston.

All us gooners hope you get him

EDs, what are the chances of getting him? {Ed019's Note -

Ollieston, in fairness to Walcott, his last two seasons read 38 games, 13 goals and 9 assists and 46 games, 11 goals and 13 assists.

His output has at least trebled what he did in the previous 3 seasons.

TSP

It's amazing what they do these days, first they were making beans, now there telling us transfer rumours. truely Amazing!

Walcott will want ridiculous wages.
If Arsenal offered him 75k we should only offer him 80-85K he will be looking for 100k which is too much.

All opponents will need to do is play a chicken with no head at left back and our £12m is wasted.

Has Gabriel Heinze been blabbing again. How many times do I have to tell him?

29 Aug 2012 09:21:17
Hi ed's,

Is there any known interest in affelay? Rumours persist that he may join on loan.

Thanks, JS {Ed022's Note - Yes there is.}

Arsenal and spurs also interested?

29 Aug 2012 09:19:45
LFC make enquiry for Walcott

29 Aug 2012 08:06:36
Wallcott is a done deal around £13million , spearing to Bolton ,Adam to Fulham and expect big big sighning .. Possible Hunterlar. Ps edd have you seen J. Sinclar in our youth team it's looking a good furtue for the Reds! {Ed022's Note - No.}

Agreed, Jermone Sinclair looks every bit as exciting as Sterling in my opinion {Ed052's Note - He scores for fun}

Yeah seems to be banging the goals in, like its going out of Fashion! Trevor-red

29 Aug 2012 03:41:58
Been reading lately that Chelsea slap £25 million price tag on Sturridge. Any truth in that? If so not for me thanks. YNWA {Ed022's Note - Utter crap. Who would buy him for that?}

Ed022, we brought carrol for 35 mil! maybe that answers your question :/

swedish adam

I wouldnt pay a 10er for him... Hes greedy, big headed and crap... Why do u think
City got rid so quick...
Rickblfc... {Ed022's Note - In response to the poster above, that was because Carroll had 3 and a half years left on his contract and Newcastke really didn't want to sell due to his brilliant performances. Chelsea are more than willing to sell Sturridge and he hasn't played thus far this season.}

We're the team that bought Andy for £35 million, Ed022! {Ed022's Note - Read my previous response.}

Well we paid £35M for Carroll, £20M for downing & £16M for Henderson....

So don't want us to sign Sturridge

Jerome sinclair from the academy is just as good as him.

Rodgers didn't buy Carroll, Downing or Henderson though, so its a moot point. Rodgers is looking for value in his buys, so he won't be paying £25 million for Sturridge.

I don't want Sturridge his attitude stinks

Who would buy him for that? king kenny more than likely...

Damian Commelli

Carroll will leave on deadline day (Undisclosed like Macca said)

A striker will be brought on Deadline day also

RedSpud

If we dont get Dempey the toys are gettin fired outta here

Ben from Bootle 7mths

Yeah, if Carroll leaves then it's pretty obvious a forward will arrive otherwise we'd keep Carroll. I'm not in the know, but it was easy to work out.

I personally hope we keep Carroll and play the scallywag, after the Newcastle game last season where he came off the pitch almost in tears after being booed by the majority of the St James Park, he seemed to not have any fear and an Andy Carroll playing without fear is the only Andy Carroll that should be playing football.

He was a demon possessed after that match, then the Blackburn match he was incredible and earned a point, then the Cardiff match he helped win the cup and in the Chelsea final, once Carroll came on the pitch you could see the whites of John Terry's eyes and i've not seen another player have that effect on Terry since he was knocked out by Diaby's right foot going for a diving header in a different Cup final against Arsenal.

We bought him for so much he needed to score 20+ a season, but that's never Carroll's game, he holds the ball up, he's a target man and he will in time become a master of his position to truly be effective. But i don't think Rodgers wants the baggage of Kenny's ghost hanging around which is all wrapped up in Andy Carroll, again because of the price tag.

After Carroll i can see Downing get the same sort of flack, Carroll's price tag has protected Henderson and Downing slightly. Not for much longer though i predict.

Amazing insight... a striker may leave (someone elses rumour) and we will replace him with a striker...vague. you are deffo ITK..

He won't Liverpool will not sell on the cheap on deadline day. We are not good enough with our strike force to let him go.

Wont happen

29 Aug 2012 02:32:15
Hi Ed's
If Carroll's sold, do u think we will buy an out an out striker and dempsey? to replace? Or do u still just think Dempsey? {Ed022's Note - I believe if Carroll is sold then it could fund the Dempsey move and perhaps one other striker.}

Walcott & Dempsey for Andy Carroll I would take that option

29 Aug 2012 02:24:29
Wallcott has refused a contract extension. What we saying Ed? Surely a chance {Ed022's Note - A chance yes, although there is yet to be confirmation regarding Walcott rejecting the contract, although it certainly looks like he has.}

Is it just me or are we hoping too much,
1. arsenal are in champions league and we arent gonna finish 4th this or next season
2. what has walcot really done to be valued at 13m anyway

The only question that needs to be asked after Walcotts rejection is does he love LFC like he has stated previously or does he love money more, I suggest the latter may be his preffered choice, which means he will join rubbishty

29 Aug 2012 02:29:20
The guys on Liverpool tv have just said they will be live from anfields training ground at 7pm on deadline day!
Something's gunna happen then!

Its because its last day there bound be there grrrrr

Don't they do that every transfer deadline night?

Werent they live during the last three windows?

There always there on deadline day

Where else would they be? Surely it makes sense for Liverpool TV to be at Anfield on deadline day if they know anything or not?

Walcott and Dempsey will be signing! YNWA

Hopefully something interesting happens otherwise it would be an utter waste of time lol

I would love to see this happen. On Sunday I was really excited with the pace of sterling on the left and thought we are just lacking the same on the right. If Dempsey comes too I really could see us making the top 4. Syd

Walcot on the right sterling left suarez middle good luck to that defence.

Thats odd, because on the clubs website, the schedule for LFC TV shows that they are showing Thursdays match with Hearts from 7 till 9 on Friday night!! BUSTED!

He is not busted at all! lfc change their screenings at a moments notice if there is something to report, there has been times over the last couple of wks when the listings have not married with what has been on.

Unveiling of Walcott, Dempsey and Rhodes

29 Aug 2012 00:46:21
Dempsey will still sign as he does not want to join Sunderland. Walcott is still a possibility as a bid from BR is likely. Adam, Spearing, Carroll, Doni and Cole are all on there way and another bid for wolves' 2nd choice keeper will be made (700k). Sturridge links have no legs, neither do Ramirez or huntelaar. Still a good window for us in my opinion...

Saw BR at the ManCity game say the squad was not big enough. That its light and what has been signed basically replaces what has gone. He said needs a few signings to help the squad. He said this on SKY, not rumours etc. So how would this be a good window if we sell your list and sign 2 maybe 3...We'll have an even smaller squad then now. I now FSG have dropped us and won't spend any money, even this window they've spent nothing AGAIN, but surely BR can't sell your list

Adam may leave. Spearing might be loaned to Bolton for season. Carroll and cole will defiently stay. Walcott may arrive big if. Rumours also about Defoe

BR is referring to quality when he talks about the size of the squad, the players listed would not really affect the squad as they are not needed. We've already signed 4 players with quality as well as having youth players such as sterling coming through. Signing 3 more players will tide the squad over until the January transfer window where more players will be brought in to deal with the extra games.
