Cabaye (and £4mil) will join Liverpool in exchange for Carroll in the summer. West Ham have pulled out a permanent deal entirely. Ian Ayre and Derek Llambias have been in dialogue for the last two weeks about a deal for Andy Carroll. Newcastle reluctant to pay anything near to the £15-17mil Liverpool are after. Cabaye, Ben Afra, Krul and Cisse have contacted their agents and are all looking to move on to bigger clubs in the summer due to the disapointing position NUFC are currently in. The threat of possible relegation could scupper any deal for Andy Carroll but its likely LFC's interest in Cabaye would remain.

Western Front Media

Yer another central midfielder is just what we need if anything it will be Ben Arfa and cash but I don't see Carroll going back to Newcastle for anything less than £17M cash

Cabaye as been shocking this season and i'm from Newcastle. A lot of my season ticket holder friends would be happy to let him go - Liverpool shouldn't go near him

I agree with BigD.

Ben Arfa + less cash OR the entire valuation.

Hey eds what's happening with jay spearing to be sold loaned out?
Personaly I'd sell him as we have joe Allen Henderson Lucas gerrard and shelvey ahead of him in the pecking order {Ed001's Note - it is likely he will be sold, the final decision will be taken in the summer.}

Ed I heard that we are after either aubeymang or Remy. Any truth?

Limerick Red {Ed002's Note - Aubameyang no. Remy is likely speculation because of very old interest.}

We have 3 strikers. Forward signings will be players who prefer playing out wide. Ince, Dzudzscak etc.

If I could choose any front man to come to Liverpool and play up top with Danny and Luis it would be Aubamayang?
I think this guy will be a phenomenal player. He already is in mm opinion

With Jozy Altidore scoring his 30th goal of the season, has any interest come from Liverpool regarding a potential move? {Ed002's Note - No but Sporting Lisbon and Fiorentina have enquired.}

Having an American player could do well to boost club interest in the states could be a good shout

You've got to think that he'd cost just as much as Remy, who's been linked with the Reds. The main difference is that Remy is 26 and Jozy is 23.

hi edds hope all is well,

more of question really, but what has happened to oriel romeu at chelsea? he really hasn't featured this season but has he been sent on loan or is he injured? but if not and he just hasn't been given the opportunities do you think Liverpool could make a move? especially with the packed young midfield that they have at the moment.

cheers,

ben {Ed002's Note - He has been out nearly all season with cruciate ligament injury.}

Plus with Lampard leaving, the only actual CM's (as opposed to CAM's) are Romeu and Ramieres.

Not great news. Very good player in the making. Cruciate's a nasty one too. Plague his mind forever, poor guy.

Red7.

This is really unlikely to happen

Is Lescott going to be available, and do you think he would be affordable for Liverpool?
ForzaRed {Ed001's Note - available but he would need to take one hell of a pay cut to join us.}

He's going to need to take a paycut to keep playing football at all won't he?

He is a dreadful carthorse, plus he played for the bitters

He'll have to take one hell of a pay cut anywhere he goes as no club will match the silly wages on offer at city

Hey eds. Good Job!
If Liverpool sell Suarez;Sanchez is the supposedly prime replacement. But is Liverpool looking for Lewandowski mid his transfer rumours to Man U& Bayern? {Ed002's Note - Lewandowski will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Look at the two teams you have just named as looking into Lewandowski, then look at our club, then you can probably decide for yourself whether he will be coming to Liverpool without wasting the time of the eds.
Man United, won the domestic league with 4 games remaining, although I truth they won the league months ago. They have world class players in De Gea, Vidic, Rafael, Rooney, Carrick, Van Persie and Chicharito.
Munich, laced with quality, so much so that Arjen Robben struggles to get in the team, Mario Gomes is their back up striker, they have dominated their league and just outclassed the best team in the world 4-0.
Liverpool, struggled to keep pace with Europa League places, never mind Champions League places.
As i'm sure you can see from the above, Lewandowski is certain to sign for Liverpool. , I wish people would sit and think for a moment before wasting the editors time and other posters patience with nonsense posts.

Hey ed's. it's been suggested we are interested in Henrikh Mkhitaryan. My question ed's is do you think this rumour has any legs? And also is this a realistic deal Liverpool can pull off, given 90% of the rumours these days get passed off as unrealistic?

Appreciate it eds {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar's Mkhitaryan is of interest to Lazio and Juventus, but the player is looking for a move to Spain with Barcelona or somewhere in England, preferably London, so he can get the very high wages he says he is due. Seems a bit of a flake to be honest. Shakhtar are looking for about €25M which seems high to me.}

Hello Eds,
any interest from Liverpool in Jeremy Menez?
would be a quality and cheap addition at RW. {Ed002's Note - Not for a couple of years.}

Most goals in the ukraine league and very talented on the ball and is a midfielder who lfc need now gerrard is nearin the end imo so yet again ed has no clue because 25m these is a fair deal.

Hello Eds

Hope your all keeping well? i'm fine thanks for asking! My question is, is there any truth, in the story that Liverpool, could strike a deal with Qatari company Ooredoo to rename Anfield. If so would this provide a much needed boost to our transfer funds, or would the cash go elsewhere. Cheers. {Ed001's Note - I haven't got a clue sorry.}

I can see it now, the players emerge ready for the game and as they pass the great sign they reach up and touch for luck the immortal words. "This Is
Ooredoo".

Hopefully not, I know the money for the naming rights to our stadium would be vast but Anfield is such a significant part of our history.

I feel like many about the history. and yet if we do not do such things we might very well be consigned to history.

Regardless of what the name will say on a sign, it will always be known as Anfield to me. We need investment for A) the FFP rules and B) to improve the squad.
The more money the club can generate the better we'll be. As long as the team are doing well I couldn't care less what the ground is called. We are LFC.

29 Apr 2013 15:42:13
i agree with reynard and mushroom we need to get the money to move us forward as we r falling even further behind not only utd but arsenal spurs chelsea city, maybe we could name a stand anfield the stand the players come out so the this is anfield sign still has some significance. Tommy Irish Red

How about they just name a stand of their choice except the Kop End, hell they can even name ALL 3 stands if they want. Just leave the stadium name, kop end and the immortal symbols!

I really don't see the big deal about the name change it would only be for a set amount of years,
plus we could really do with a cash injection to close the gap on the top four,
also most people will still call it anfield I mean how many people call st james park the sports direct arena

But what about this is Anfield sign, will have to be removed because no longer will remain Anfield.

I hope it is true and I hope its not, like one thing telling me it be the best thing to do with all the money to pay off everything and our transfer funds would be so much better, and hopefully the put a good word in with other Quatri people to put money in, its modern football now need the money, cardiff city doing it and they so much better off changed they kits aswell, not saying do what they doing change the kits that stupid we are the REDS, just think if it was up to me change the name if its for the best of us, yes anfield is Liverpool but if they could change it to something like, YNWA stadium or just build a new one and change the name the same time then its for the best. hope they do the right idea for the fans and the club I be behide them all the way. YNWA RED4LIFE

You can still get the sponsoship by having it called, anfield sponsored by orooderoo, many american facilities do this.

Hi Eds / Macca,

Do we still have interest in Tom Ince?
If yes, please provide us his update situation?

Thank you

Hey Eds,

Posted this earlier but guess it got lost in transit! Anyway, with both QPR and Reading now relegated, have we any possible targets in either of their teams?

Cheers {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

Loic remy

Remy, Samba and Smithies are all decent, but Samba wants ridiculous wages. Remy and Smithies would both be decent acquisitions, there is no one else between the two teams with any decent quality.

Anfield Andy

I like taarabt probably spelt wrong, but he is greedy and with coutinho's form can't see why we need to spend the money on strengthening the midfield with other areas needing the money more like another CB

I'm sure McCarthy, Granero and Remy could be worth a shot

01 May 2013 18:59:30
Remy blows too hot and cold for me. Not sure he would fit into BRs fluid front 3 approach. Graneiro not bad, but what's his wage? He'd be behind Lucas and potentially a revitalised Joe Allen in the pecking order.

What players are Liverpool currently interested in?

29 Apr 2013 01:42:38
Eds any chance of Steven Caulker? or Davide Astori? {Ed001's Note - nope and not that I am aware of.}

29 Apr 2013 01:24:09
Any chance of Romelu Lukaku coming to Liverpool? He is one hell of a player!

15m to 18 m for him {Ed002's Note - Lukaku will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Hey Eds,
Any idea if Sterling will be loaned out next season? I know still young but needs to get some time on the pitch if he's to develop into "Coutinho'esque" world class potential.
Cheers,
Benito. {Ed001's Note - I do agree, he probably does need it, but it is unlikely to happen.}

I have heard from a good source that there is interest/connection between Suarez and Real Madrid. I have no idea how true or far through it is however the source is an ex-Liverpool employee who now lives and works in Adelaide, South Australia who worked with Luis at Liverpool and says that he still has regular contact.

Andy K

Is that the fitness guy who left the club last year or peter brookner the old doctor who left the club around the same time?

That would be Darren Burgess. But I doubt he would be giving too much info out as he is a consummate professional who wouldn't put his golden reputation on the line.

I will neither deny nor confirm (wink wink) who it was however that is what I heard. I have no idea how true it is as I heard it from a mutual friend of this person.
