I think Suso would have been better playing off of Suarez than Sterling but I think Assaidi would do a good job there too.

BthekingB

Sterling did good there he should have passed when it was him and suarez vs the keeper. but messed up the shot (i suppose he saw his name in the front of the echo)

wisdom was out of the game, mirallas killed him and henderson should have started. with 353 being the formation we should have went with from the off.

we also have to use 353 vs chelsea, swansea & spurs...!

suso was better on the left in that game but sterling forced him right as sterling was walking on thin ice.

suso made the first goal possible by grate passing and vision to play enrique through and sterling should have has a pen and jagielka should have gotten a yellow.

now u guess nothing will be said about phil neville....

looking back at it he was the one who saved (hand ball, on the line, in plain sight like suarez did) what would have been lucas' debut goal.

is there a competition going on with them two?

Did u not see the 2nd goal??

Explain to me how we can play 3-5-3 formation? We gonna play without a keeper then!!!

Would love to know how we would play 3-5-3? if you mean 3-5-2 it is easier to break down if you set up from the beginning, more effective for most teams to be able to adapt and change like we did today

I'd be very itnerested in seeing assaidi in the prmiership more. See what he can do,he's impresses in the euro league

Had we played a 3-5-2 with Alonso, T-shirt and Mascherano with Suarez and Torres upfront. Sterling and Suso on the wings abd three centre backs in Agger, Skrtel and Carragher...

I hope whatever issues BR has had with Enrique have now been put to rest, thought he was excellent today. Johnson should now move back to the right. Ged

is this for real?he was at fault for goal cos he cant defend

I thought enrique was very good especially with some of his passes to sterling into space. my only question is what was he upto for naismiths goal. just stood there and watched. maybe he was still trying to work out why everton had been given the throw in.
p.s robbed again by opponents 12th man (not the crowd), when will it stop?
NZL_red

Did you watch a different game to me he played awful ball watching for the second goal

Enrique was at fault for the second goal, his positioning and movement were unbelievable

Completely disagree, Enrique was at fault for the 2nd goal and still doesn't look like he can defend at all. The issue is not personal, it is professional - Enrique is not good enough.

I'm glad to see some of the comments posted to this... It shows me that there are still those who can see what is actually going on. Enrique has been a constant bad performer, and has one trick up his sleave, to turn himself in a circle where ever he is on the pitch.
He should be sold. Johnson is a better leftback (than RB)

Glen left, andre right. if andre ever rested, kelly. if jonno ever rested then robinson or flanagan. enrique is completely and utterly pony.

Enrique is a frustrated winger, thanks for the good performances in the first half of last season but I'd like you to leave now.

Martin Skrtel was just as bad if not worse!! He should have either closed down felliani,or gotten himself into a better position to block the cross,he didn't even stick out a leg and was caught ball watching. It was a great game.BR needed to switch things around quicker isntead of waiting for half time,mirrales KILLED wisdom!!!

Their second goal, Enrique did nothing. He should have been to that ball first and just stood there. No some surging runs does not make a good game. {Ed052's Note - Enrique just let his man go and tap it in!!}

Surely this is a joke? Enrique was the worst player on the pitch bar none. I dont think he once touched the ball without up? Awful.

Lets not forget that Jelavic taps that ball in even if naismith misses. That seems to be the only criticism of him............
WelshBoyDave {Ed001's Note - you mean other than his lack of positioning meaning Agger was playing left back for most of the game? Or his constant hanging on to the ball and taking too many touches? He doesn't fit our style of play and he can't defend because he has absolutely no positional sense at all. When he was playing left wing back, he kept moving inside Agger when getting back, the primary purpose of the wing back is to be out wide, not in the centre! His game was mixed, he played Sterling in a couple of times, made a good break (which he then messed up) and he did provide us an option on the left most of the time. Overall though, it is not good enough for an experienced pro with aspirations of international footie.}

Miralles KILLED Wisdom?

The only reason that happened was because Suso offered Wisdom no help when asked to defend. Too often he simply let Baines to forward unopposed and Andre had to face 2-on-1 situations on numerous occasions.

Original poster here, didn't realise I was going to so controversial with this post. I'm pleased to see all the comments from my fellow Reds both for and against, I would say in reply to one of the posts that I consider myself a knowledgable LFC fan also. Yes Enrique failed to prevent the 2nd goal, but equally Wisdom and Skrtel failed to stop the run into the box and cross in the first place. Enrique hasn't had much game time prior to being asked to play last minute in a Derby by a Manager who has prefered playing his RB and Winger ahead of him, all in all I think he performed well but if BR wants to sell him as soon as he can I'm ok with that but I prefer to see GJ at right back so sign a LB then sell him.Andre struggled to cope with Miralles yesterday and long term is not a RB .GJ will be our RB for several years so why play him out of position if we don't have to? I can tell you all Rodgers has keen interest in both Benoit Tremoulinas from Bordeaux and Felipe from Athletico as our new leftback..expect bid for of these in January! I think today confirmed why rodgers does not rate enrique very very poor positional sense when defending..the only reason he started was due to Johnson being injured and did not want to risk too young full backs by playing robinson!

People being bought in..
New LB
Striker
Attacking winger/forward

Enjoy lads remember the name

Jimmy LFC

Wisdom was horrid today

And Enrique was amazing

Brendan Rogers has been keeping an eye on Blackpool pair Tom Ince and Matt Phillips as he looks to reinforce the squad in January. He was at the Blackpool VS Brighton game yesterday, there were talks of young John Flanagan joining Blackpool on loan to as part of any deal for Ince/Phillips.

Danny "Boy"d

Why would we sell Tom Ince and then buy him back for more money. The worst coment ever. Plus I watched him yesterday and ws not that impressed

We just got rid of Tom Ince why would we take him back?

Dublad

Your name should be Danny b******* because you don't have a clue.

Keeping an eye on Tom Ince?

Worst. Rumour. Ever.

I disagree with the original post but I believe suso will go on loan there as soon as we get someone in jan. He tweeted a picture of him there a week or two back and he wasnt in bad seats!

Suso wont be going anywhere, he's one of our best players at the moment

Would there be any chance of signing James Tomkins of Weat Ham he looks a good young player with experiance?

I can answer this one eds! Absolutely not a chance . This is Liverpool not Norwich

Just not nearly good enough. Crucial we shop at Harrods, not Asda.

We shop at Harrods haha

So you will be in for players like messi,ronaldo when they wouldn't even pay the money for Dempsey

Hi Eds Saw Brendan Rodgers at the Blackpool - Brighton game yesterday, just wanted to know if anyone knew who he was looking at

Dave from Bournemouth {Ed001's Note - I think it was likely to be Phillips or Dunk that he went to see, both have been watched by us this season and last.}

Who is Dunk? {Ed001's Note - sometimes I wonder, is Google broken?}

His son plays for Brighton, nothing to see here.

I kind of know about Phillips, but I haven't heard about Dunk. How would you rate him Ed? {Ed001's Note - he looks a decent prospect, though I think the previous poster might have a point, it is probably most likely he just went to see his son.}

Surely the only way Drogba could come would be on loan but am I mistaken in saying that Prem teams have named their squads till Jan and the only sort of loan allowed is an emergency loan and that is restricted , normally, to keepers? {Ed002's Note - Out of contract players can be signed.}

Drogba will not come!

Drogba will not come!

Hi ed do you know of any interest in drogba even if it is a short term loan. {Ed052's Note - no, any interest would be shocking}

Are you suggesting Drogbas out of contract?
Irrespective surely the squad is named till Jan?

Hey Ed's great site, just wondering if there is any truth in Wilfried Bony in the Eredivisie? good young player, seems to have a knack of scoring goals, any interest / chance of a january bid?
Thanks as always Ed's! {Ed002's Note - No, I really don't think there is any chance of that happening.}

28 Oct 2012 01:48:56
Hey Ed's just wondering if the reports of us scouting Immobile have any truth? appreciate your help, would love a reply! {Ed002's Note - He has only just moved to Genoa - Liverpool will not have been looking at Immobile.}

Thats a no goer!

His name says it all. Immobile.

28 Oct 2012 12:22:11
we loaned him out to west ham....

Yeah he'll be staying put for a bit.

Adrian Lopez is available for about 16 million. He would do a better job than Sturridge or Walcott.

With the cash left over from Carroll, and potential sale of Cole + others we could reasonably afford him.

Thoughts?

I'd rather Soldado but beggars can't be choosers :P {Ed002's Note - I thought that although Adrian Lopez was of serious interest to Arsenal, with Podolski and Giroud arriving interest would have waned - but it hasn't. Spurs also showed interest in the player but their bid was rejected. As far as I know there has been no interest from Liverpool.}

28 Oct 2012 08:58:06
Absolutely- neither of those two are prolific enough in front of goal, and there's been a few seasons to observe them over too.

I can't believe 15m couldn't be better spent looking abroad, although having said that Borini isn't exactly a goal machine either at the moment. But then tbh, one could see that from his record anyway.

Let's hope when Brendan finally does have some major funds to spend on a player, e.g. 20m plus, he can pick a real finisher.

Yeah id take that, dont agree with last comment , we cant look at most 20m+ players because of wages...
