Ed001 how likely would you say it is that kagawa signs in jan? I know you said we watched him twice recently which implies that maybe we were given positive signs when we enquired about his availablity a few weeks earlier {Ed001's Note - personally I wouldn't say it is likely, but we clearly haven;t been dissuaded from showing interest in him, so it is not out of the question. But it could easily be that we have been told they will discuss him in the summer rather than January. That would be what I would expect, unless he is looking for a move.}

28 Nov 2011 21:47:08
Ed001 you said that you hear of interest in players from russia eg doumbia. Have you heard anything about welliton as i would expect us to have at least looked at a player of his quality {Ed001's Note - yes, but again it is not coming from our end but from the player's 'people' so to speak. It is difficult to be sure just how honest they are being, it is in their interest to stir up interest.}

Hi eds do you have any knowledge who could or couldnt be involved in tomorrows game?

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - No.}

Hi ed, just wondering if there is any firm interest in Lucas Moura, after his agent said liverpool and chelsea was interested? cheers m8... :) {Ed002's Note - I am so sorry that the search function is broken. If Lucas Moura becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for at least a year or two.}

From what I've been told any move for a non eu player will be dependant on pato being moved on. At present nobody is interested. That's just at Milan though, no idea what the situation is with other interested parties.

Eds,
Are we watching Jesus Navas? {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

I heard we were watching Jesus Navas aswell ed, what do you think ?? {Ed002's Note - Sure, whatever makes you happy.}

Messi, Xavi and Silva would male me happy but iv not heard nothing on that front

28 Nov 2011 21:19:09
liverpool fc will be bringing coleman of everton and navas of seville,both will come in january 12m for coleman and 20m for navas you heard it first here.

eds why aren't we trying to sign thomas muller i think he would be a great replacement for kuyt? we are desperate for quality to link up with suarez.... {Ed009's Note - Because he is far from available for sale from his boyhood club who have little need for the money. Simples.}

Because why would he swap Champions League for Europa League

Why would he leave bayern, he gets regular football, they are in the champions league, liverpool are in the europa league and will stay there for some time, pretty sure bayern is his boyhood club and they are twice as good as liverpool.

Liverpool Are planning an 18million bid in January for Daniel Sturridge. {Ed009's Note - I knew we should have taken 45 million and Sturridge for Torres last January.}

Was that offer ever really on the table? {Ed001's Note - no, Chelsea were not interested in any move involving them losing Sturridge.}

Was that the offer?? {Ed009's Note - It was a flippant comment, I believed we could have got him if we pushed for it, due to how desperate they were for Torres. I worded it badly, suggesting it was offered. Sorry.}

Would have been perfect though, we need a goal scoring right winger, he would have fitted the bill in every way and is only going to get stronger physically and mentally. Hope we fill that postion with power/quality

Hello ed , Someone just rang up on Lfc tv from london talking about that a lot of rumours have been flying around London that Liverpool have been interested in signing torres back from 20 million any truth in this do you know? {Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware. I think it is wishful thinking, not sure on whose part though!}

I think it must have been a very optimistic chelsea fan.

Rewflo

There was actually a fair bit of talk on the Kop before the game yesterday about this. Apparently it's tied in with the fact that Chelsea still owe us loads on the deal so it'd be cut price in effect. Don't know whether it will happen or not though.

The deal in Jan last year was a cash deal, no suspended payments. 50m hard cash up front. So no looming payments or anything like that.

I doubt mr. abramovich sought a 12 month flexi pay plan given the money he has

For 20 mill i would have him back, but will kenny put up with his miserable gob, plus i think he may be a jinx

If chelsea said we could have torres back for 20 million i would snap there hand off. Torres on his day is the best in the world. He proved numerous times as a lone striker at liverpool he was umplayable. He has pace, he has height, he can hassle defenders and he has a sharp eye for goal. Currently i think he has lost form and confidence, once he gets a run of games and his confidence back he will start banging the goals in.

Torres and Saurez would compliment each other perfectly, Saurez makes the magic Torres will finish it, which is where we been lacking to date.

Yes i for one would welcome him back,he knows he made a mistake leaving. and on another note mo on motd2 omg how boring has his whole head been botoxed?

If he did come back it would be very controversial, he would have to issue a massive apology and get back to being what he used to be like for us and propel us back to the UCL, him and Suarez could be legendary.

Agree with you all, would love to see him back. Still shattered he left and I have no doubts he could deliver again. He is a massive confidence player and also highly superstitious as well. I think he knows he stuffed up by leaving but all will be forgiven lad, just come home.

Thats a Joke

Has anyone seen the way he has played the last 2 years? hes with the likes of lampard mata drogba etc atm at chelsea and still cant score so being with suarez will nt help him much, and i dnt think he will even fit in2 the team anyway, to buy him back for 20million is a complete waste of money when we could buy the likes of hazzard cavanii lucas or anyone who is young and talented

Hi Ed's is it fair to say and to hopefully stop all these ridiculous questions, that Luuk De Jong is the only player who is likely to be bid for come January? I realise that circumstances can change however I just have to clarify the current circumstance,

LG. {Ed001's Note - right now he is not definitely likely anyway, it all depends on other interest in him forcing our hands. It is hard to say, there are a number of players that will be available from Russia, for instance, that it is very difficult to find out any information on and to gauge interest in. You can't really trust the player's agents or agencies, they often just want to create interest by saying there is someone looking at them.}

Ed, you say players will become available in russia what russian league players are we looking at? {Ed001's Note - it is very difficult to find out, I am told we are looking at the likes of Doumbia, but the stories are all coming from the player's camp. I wouldn't be sure at all that the stories are true, knowing he is hoping to get a move makes me dubious about any links.}

Are we getting lars bender?

28 Nov 2011 18:47:56
Hi eds,

Who in your opinion are liverpool seriously interested in? Is there any quality on the way between now and the end of summer? I think kenny has the bunch of players he has playing brilliant but with a bit more quality players in front of goal lastnite we would have won easily. also with money spent on a bit more quality in front of goal it would cancel out all these frustrating dominant draws again the weaker teams! for example, i cant complain about kuyt hes been a great servent for us but he missed another great chance again lasnite and he frustrates the hell out of me! {Ed001's Note - the only players I am definitely sure we have interest in are Hazard, Kagawa, Podolski, Sissoko, Ramirez, Luuk De Jong and Eriksen. Hazard and Eriksen are not interested in joining and the interest in Ramirez could be simply checking him out, rather than a solid attempt to buy.}

Podolski,

Now that would be a signing IMO.

His left foot is a peach. Very similar player to Suaréz with a more predatory instinct and perhaps a little less finesse....Yes please.

Hey ed just wondering do you know what positions Dalglish wants to improve in January?

I think Kagawa would be a great buy, and I think we need a player of his type. A forward would be nice, don't know much about Luuk De Jong, is he any good?

Thanks.

CSTDWN. {Ed001's Note - forward/attacking midfielder, possibly a right winger as well, are the positions I am told we are looking at as a priority. De Jong looks a decent player, difficult to tell for sure until he plays in a tougher league, but he is scoring goals which is a good sign.}

I'm always sceptical of strikers from holland. Suarez was banging them in for fun over there and his strike ratio has dropped since coming here. I imagine a striker with a goal every three games or so like De Jong would only average one every 5 in england.

28 Nov 2011 18:12:19
Hi Eds, do you know anything about a Liverpool interest for Vertonghen? What a powerful defense we could have with him !
Anything on him or even Samba? We need a stronger back up than Carra n Coates if Agger gets an injury .. {Ed009's Note - I don't think another centre back will be signed this January. There are more pressing positions and Kenny still has enough faith in Carra to bring him in the fold if needs be.}

I think dalglish will concentrate on cahill or samba in winter/summer transfer window

Just out of interest ed009 what do you consider the priorities to be? Another striker, wingers, cover for gerrard?

IMO a good right sided player could solve quite a lot, frees kuyt to be a stiker if necessary, puts henderson in the middle. {Ed009's Note - I don't think that another centre midfielder is required. Adam and Lucas have been pretty much immense recently and Gerrard is almost becoming a luxury - albeit a world class one. A right sided winger would be my first priority, followed by a speedy poacher. Welliton of Spartak Moscow would be my first choice without a doubt.}

I just wonder how strong we are should adam or lucas get injured but I see your point the two of them have been so good we havent missed gerrard so much. I wonder how carroll will feel if we get another striker.

Anyway, thanks for the reply

Please do not ask any of the so called editors if any such player is moving to us January cos all they will say is no.. seems they do not like the idea of our sguad rebuilding..Sados {Ed009's Note - Pardon? So if I told you, say, Gotze won't be moving here it means I don't support the rebuilding of our squad? Perhaps, at worse, it means that I don't support the hurried rebuilding of a squad mid-season, where prices are inflated and only players who are unsettled or unwanted are available to leave. Kenny, quite clearly, agrees. Perhaps therefore you are not the ideal choice for the next manager. Either way we could see some incomings, yet it is simply too soon to say who they will be.}

You're quite right, the eds should just agree with everyone who thinks Messi will sign in January and that kind of positive thinking will make it happen.

Your reference to the Editors as being 'so called'? By my understanding, as it's their own site & they filter, correct & publish, this must surely mean by definition they are in fact real editors? You sir, refrain from tarnishing our Gods.

dd

To be fair, the eds have ruined many of my dreams. How dare they answer the numerous questions fired at them daily with honesty! It's a bloody disgrace you have to pay for this site! Oh....wait, you don't. So why don't you run along to Koptalk which I suspect will be much more up your alley (so to speak).

Hi eds,
Is marco reus an opportunity for january? {Ed002's Note - Reus has been playing well and has a growing reputation - enough to alert Bayern Munich - always thought to be his likely destination at some point. Bayern have been interested since the early summer although certain influential factions do not see a need for Reus at this time. Additionally Juventus, Manchester City, Arsenal and even his old club Dortmund have shown an interest in Reus, but a move in January seems pretty unlikely unless a significant bid acceptable to Gladbach is made. Chelsea had two people attend the Cologne match to specifically watch him perform and they may be considering a bid. LIverpool may have had the player watched but there is no confirmation of interest.}

28 Nov 2011 17:36:36
Ryad Boudebouz confirms interest by Liverpool and claims it will be hard to turn an offer down. So eds, are we likely to make a bid for him? {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux. St-Etienne wanted the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille, Lyon and Newcastle showed some interest over the summer and Real Betis have made recent enquiries. There was previous interest from Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. This latest news of Liverpool interest could of course be simply a recycled story from the summer, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility.}

28 Nov 2011 17:05:47
i hear defoe and dos santos could be heading to liverpool for 15 million

Im a spurs fan and i heard the same thing {Ed002's Note - Weirdly enough the original post came from your IP address. You should perhaps ask the Liverpool fan you live with where he got the information from? I could suspend you for this nonsense and even though I am not up to my daily quota, we'll let it go. Clearly you are not good at this. Don't you have some home work to be getting on with?}

Dos santos would be great for the club... very under-rated and young... he can also play right wing

Ed002 you are a ledgend

Ed, I am a spurs fan & from what I understand is that harry will not let jd go in january as for gds its my understanding that he wants to head to spain

28 Nov 2011 16:55:59
Hi eds, are liverpool still trying to lure Ganso (paulo henrique) away from santos? {Ed002's Note - No. Liverpool have not had any contact with Santos regarding Ganso.}

Also, did you see Ganso in the Copa America? He was rubbish. He weights a lovely pass, but can't time when to play it for toffee.

28 Nov 2011 16:51:01
Ed001 do you know if we are still watching podolski? He would be great for us {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware we are still keeping tabs on him, though I can't be sure how strong our interest is.}

That's excellent news. I think he's a fantastic player and would suit the Premier League 100%.

28 Nov 2011 16:44:33
Afternoon Ed, I'm aware of the interest in De Jong and he looks a good young option however surely in January, if we want a goalscorer, his teammate Marc Janko would be a good bet. Would you agree?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I am never convinced by the Tor Andre Flo, Peter Crouch type players I am afraid Chris. I recall Stoke and Sunderland enquiring over the summer.}

So Ed002 is obviously a big fan of Andy Carroll.

28 Nov 2011 16:40:04
hi ed, any chance of us signing gary cahill as caraghers replacement or if skirtel leaves? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

28 Nov 2011 16:12:47
Chris Samba's agent has said that liverpool have enquired about £15m bid for samba. Is this true eds? {Ed002's Note - I would be surprised if Liverpool were interested in Samba, but perhaps it is correct.}

Noooo hes to injury prone, hes not that young and hes not that good people only like him because he scores he is never 15 million pounds worth

I'd rather spend 15 mill on gary cahill

Hes not liverpool standard i'd say his right team is stoke

28 Nov 2011 15:25:23
Are Lfc genuinely interested in Swanseas Dyer?

I actually hope they r interested in dyer cuz he looked impressive against villa yesterday

I quite rate him. Very quick and good work rate. Poor final ball at times though

28 Nov 2011 15:24:26
Outve ten please rate chances of-Hamsik,podolski,Benzema.And is there any chance of Marin? {Ed002's Note - We are not going to start rating players well before the window opens. Marin is much more likely than the other three but I suspect not until the summer. AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not; and the summer is a considerable distance away at present. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

Just think marins superb.would open defences

28 Nov 2011 15:10:33
Lucas (Sao Paulo) from Brazil to England in exchange of £15M? What are your thoughts Eds?
At least we'll be the firts to make a bid ... {Ed002's Note - You are joking. If Lucas Moura becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M and other clubs have already made bids for the player. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for at least a year or two.}

They were on about buying him for about £35 Million, 15 million is no where near enough, a player of that standard who is only 20 or 21, i think we'll have to pay a lot to get him

28 Nov 2011 15:03:13
Ed do you think that it is possible that we sign a big name eg lavezzi,lucas moura etc in jan? I feel as though we don't need any decent players like luuk de jong as we have got lots of good players,just not enough world class ones {Ed002's Note - The term "big name" is like "marquee" and purely a subjective term. Whilst Liverpool will no doubt sign a player or two, those expecting £100M worth of "big name" signings are well wide of the mark. I expect that the summer will be far more telling than January as so much will ride on Champions League qualification. We also have to remember that whatever happens with the stadium, there will be a financial commitment for the owners there as well. The club will already be making a significant loss this year and the owners will need to ensure that whatever money is spent that it is spent wisely. Lavezzi and Moura could both be available in January but it is hard to see either moving to Liverpool. Liverpool's interest in Lavezzi pre-dates the last January window. He has an agent in Frederic Guerra who does a really good job of talking up his players without being pushy; and a fabulous technique where he denies interest in his players from major clubs thereby attracting attention to them. There is potentially interest from several clubs including Manchester City (who need a replacement for Tevez), Zenit and Inter. As for Lucas Moura, if he becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for at least a year or two.}

28 Nov 2011 14:43:36
ed ! is there any chance of giovinco or thiago alcantra in january ? {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely.}

28 Nov 2011 12:21:06
I have read with interest this morning that Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe is unsettled at white hart lane and frustrated with his lack of first team appearances, do you think that Dalglish/ Comolli would be interested in approaching spurs in January to secure his services as another striking option? I think with Damien's obvious links with Spurs and the lack of goals we are scoring he would be a great addition, I feel that unless Suarez is firing, we lack a true alternative goal threat at the moment, with Kuyt workin hard as ever but not as clinical in front of goal as he should be, and Carroll still finding his feet, fitness and form. What are your thoughts Ed? {Ed002's Note - I would suspect that if Defoe were available for a loan then Liverpool could well be interested. To buy I am not so sure but I guess it would not be out of the question as long as the fee was right. However, I don't know that Comolli being at Spurs at one time will help at all, given ghe was sacked. The other question to ask is that given Liverpool already have Bellamy do the club need Defoe?}

Bellamy can play wide.So ild consider defoe.But generally agree with the Ed.

J.D. Will not move to you. He wouldnt go north of Watford anyway!

28 Nov 2011 10:46:57
Hey eds heard a rumour that Andy Carroll going out on loan in january any truth in this? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Where to ....Tescos?

28 Nov 2011 10:44:18
Barcelona forward David Villa will be Liverpool's priority signing if the English team qualifies for next season's CL.
what say Ed002?

Daniel Rogers. {Ed002's Note - I would think it very unlikely that £30M or more would be made available in the summer to buy a 30 year old player who has always said that he never wanted to leave and play outside Spain. So in my view, I think it doubtful at best. But perhaps FSG have canned all of their policies and will do this - but it could be extremely high risk.}

We have so many young striker. we need a top class experience striker. ok accept that he is just 30 years. but still can play 3/4 years top label. I hope we buy him in january as we need a good one to partner suarez.

I wouldn't be so sure that Barca will look for anywhere near as much as 30m... if the stories are true about a falling out with Messi, they might be happy to let him go for a lot less. As for him not wanting to leave Spain, things change and people change...

28 Nov 2011 06:20:47
Hey Ed's i'd like to ask does moussa sissoko have any knowledge of our interest in him replacing stevie for long term , and if so do use reckon he's good enough ? thanks {Ed002's Note - He obviously knows what was said by Comolli. He would also know that Liverpool did not follow up the interest because, I assume, Dalglish was not as keen.}

Or Ed, perhaps his position was not as much as a priority as other areas e.g LW, LB and of course SG still a dominant figure when fit. It was probably better for the player to be playing regularly at the moment...

Richards
