ed's do you reckon a bid for Yoann Gourcuff if we wer interested in him, wud be a good buy?
{Ed013's Note - I do he is a good solid player}

Can ask something why would aguero go to juventus, in my opinion they are a dead and dying club of football he could join a top notch european club to play at a high level of football-the italian league is weak and aguero will slowly fade into nothingness as most players do who dont come to the prem or to a massive club
Am i missing something about juventus??

I just posted about Marveaux.

Sportsvibe are quoting Bleacher Report as their source but the article is really unclear. Possibly deliberate but the headline is clear.

Mata will go to Barcelona. He is perfect for the style of football played at Barcelona and would fit the Barcelona mould.

28 May 2011 22:29:11
Liverpool will complete the signings of 3 players when the window opens as all ahve been agreed

McCarthy from Wigan
Dann from Birmingham
Mata from Valencia

These players will hopefully be paied for by the outgoings of
Stelios
Jovanovich
The invisible Italian
Ngog
Cole

this should allow for a couple of other signings later in the window the type that take a long time to sort out due to Image rights etc
There will be many more players leaving the club

All the usual big names knocking about as signing for liverpool are just dreams in the heads of fans

but Aguero is a real possible seeing as R Madrid have agreed not to bid and the excellent relations between the clubs there are not many others who could afford a player like this that have space in there line ups to fit him in

28 May 2011 22:22:55
John flanagan is a mate of mine and he says McCarthy is on his way
=======================================
flannagan was in my shop today and when i asked he said the players havent heard anything as of yet

CB: Scott Dann (Solid CB, good cover for Carra)
LB: Emilio Izaguirre (Good all-round full back, sorts out our bogey position)
CM: James McCarthy (Good cover for Gerrard, potential to be top class)
LM: Adam Johnson (Best winger in the country)
RM: Marc Albrighton (Good, potential to be best winger in the country)
ST: Daniel Sturridge (Good cover, potential to be top class)

That would do me nicely. Individually are they very much possible Ed? {Ed002's Note - Possibly the last three would be difficult.}

28 May 2011 22:20:51
For all the things Javier Mascherano has done to us both good and bad...We'll always have to respect him especially after he just dedicated his medal to LFC fans

28 May 2011 22:14:17
ed what do you think about alonso returning. i watched the interview and i think he as unfinshed biz here. great site keep it up. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps, but I doubt it will be this year.}

28 May 2011 22:11:55

I can confirm that Mata and Young are signing for Man Utd as Nani is being replaced. They are also looking at Benzema. Are they trying to pinch all our targets

=================================

After that performance they need them more than we do!

Ed what are the chances of is signing miroslav klose, cesar Delgado, Lewis holtby, bojan, Enrique and taraabt
{Ed013's Note - 1,1,1,1,3,2}

28 May 2011 20:19:06
Eds, have you personally heard anything about potential moves for players who HAVEN'T been mentioned on here? Do you think there'll be any out-of-the-blue signings? {Ed013's Note - I have not heard about any potential moves for people who have not been mentioned but i do believe there may be an out of the blue signing but that is my opinion}

28 May 2011 20:17:42
Ed's and fellow fans, I've not heard or seen anything mentioned about Samuel eto, is he available and would he compliment Suarez and Carroll??

28 May 2011 20:08:34
eds i don't think anyone has asked this but who do u think will come to the club
{Ed013's Note - I don't want to make any guesses at the moment about who is coming as the season has only finished and only KK and DC know}

28 May 2011 19:37:04
Liverpool have made tentative enquiries about Rob Green who apparently is available on a Bosman.

28 May 2011 19:33:11
what centre backs are liverpool likely to be targetting besides scott dann?

28 May 2011 19:19:03
I think we can all agree the following positions need strengthening Wing, LB, Holding Midfielder, CB and another Striker. Here are who I think would be the best options
-Marveux (Free)
-Elia (Left sided and wants to play for us)
-Jarvis (Right sided and good at crossing the ball)
-Izaguirre (better defender than Enrique and in my opinion better going forward as well)
-Keep Aquilani (No need for Adam, he's overrated and with Barton wanting out of Newcastle I can see him moving there)
-Johnson (May be cheap following Birminghams relegation)
-Aguero (people will tell me no chance but he is a liverpool fan, we were promised a marquee signing and he can operate on the wing or upfront)

Cost-wise marveux (free), Elia(£12m), Jarvis(£10m), Izaguirre(£6m), Johnson(£8m), Aguero(£35m)

So thats about £71million. With the £50million budget and sales I'd say its fairly realistic.

28 May 2011 18:45:29
Ed 1-10 chance of Perotti is .....? Keep up the good work ! {Ed002's Note - 6 - like it was earlier.}

28 May 2011 18:41:03
RE Vargas

Most italian sites / papers are reportin on City bid around 8 mill plus kolarov for him and Liverpool bid around 20 mill (euros). They also report a previous bid of 13 mill quid from Liverpool was thrown out immediately by Fiorentina.

Do you know if we are still interested in steven defour I believe he would make a good addition to our squad (challenge for first team) {Ed002's Note - He sign a new deal but there could, I guess, still be interest. It seems unlikely to me though.}

28 May 2011 18:35:33
Liverpool have NOT signed Mata YET! Wait it may take a week or so. We have been told to come back later, as you should know by now we have spoke to Valencia and his Dad who are happy with lfc. However nothing can be done at the moment because Mata is with the Un21's. This is as it stands at the moment although things can change within a day, but I don't see him making his mind up without speaking with reps.

28 May 2011 18:29:39
Daniel Agger and Sotirios Kyrgiakos days seem to be numbered with Liverpool thought to have prepared a £14mil double bid for Birmingham's Scott Dann and Roger Johnson.

Charlie Adam will also be joining for around £8-9mil. Juan Mata starting to look a real possibility with Liverpool opening negotiations with Valencia.

are we still intrested in diego and if we are how much do you think he will be worth also name most of the good players liverpool have been linked with and the price of them please please reply ed :) {Ed002's Note - Did you miss the discussion on him earlier? Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar. You have to read the other posts.}

28 May 2011 18:19:56
Honestly I can't believe how gullible some of you are. When the ed says no chance of people like Sanchez and Hazard he means it, and when he throws a 8/ 10 chance on one of their names it's because he is bored of it over an over again and is trying to entertain himself.

Anyway likely transfers look to be:

Freidal
Dann
Enrique
Adam
Marveux

Possibles depending on who they choose (but we are interested):

Mata
Young
Gervinho
Plus many many more

Now stop asking the same how many out of 10 questions over and over. Takes me too long to scroll through the site for all that rubbish!!

Cheers

Ed lad, once senses you become slighlty bored of repeatedly answering the same old questions day after day after day. Any chance of rating the chances of us signing Hulk, Aguero and Sanchez? Red77 {Ed002's Note - We will be deleting repeat posts from now on. During the transfer window it is not worth posting "Liverpool confirm signing of Neymar" a hundred times or more. If we post it once folks should get the message they need to read the other posts. And in answer to your question: 0, 5, 8. Have a great day.}

Is that a mistake Ed? You rated Liverpool signing Sanchez at 8/ 10?? Has the chance of Liverpool signing Sanchez improved or was it a mistake??

{Ed002's Note - Man, I love this stuff.}

I'm starting to worry. Ed 2s behaviour has become more and more unpredictable. Unless, Ed 2 is more than one person?! My source is that Ed 2 is actually Sylvain Marveaux and Juan Mata, switching shifts and texting Stewart Downing for added jibes and come-backs. On another note, I was wondering if we sign James Mc Carthy does that mean our interest in Sissoko is ended? Is there a power struggle-ish between Kenny and Commolli re these two players? What says ye Ed 2? If that IS your real name...

{Ed002's Note - Actually you raise a great point about what happens to any Sissoko deal if McCarthy goes through. I really don't know but we know that Comolli values Sissoko very highly. The conspiracy theorists will say that both will come and use the post of Gerrard's impending move to Real Madrid as evidence.}

28 May 2011 18:17:42
is there any chance of us getting pastore? {Ed002's Note - Predicting the final nail in my coffin for today: 1/10. Pastore may well be moving this summer - it seems to be on/off week-by-week. Palermo is a difficult club to deal with (to say the least) and money is not something they are short of. They crave success and I would not be surprised to see him stay another season. Juventus have been knocked back with their standard offer of €20m in cash plus Raffaelle Palladino, Amauri and Sebastian Giovinco in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. Chelsea are looking for a long-term replacement for Lampard and Manchester United are looking for a long-term replacement for Scholes. He is certainly not top of Chelsea's transfer list but they will keep a watching brief. The rejected bid that was publicised was certainly from Manchester City. Liverpool had shown an interest before Christmas but will struggle with the price - which if he is sold is likely to be the highest of the summer. Atletico Madrid are also interested buy I suspect that they will be priced out of the market.The fee will be in the region of £50M or a part ownership deal may well be negotiated. If I had to suggest a destination Barcelona, one of the Milanese clubs (but they have potential non-EU player quota issues) or an outside chance of Chelsea.}

"I have never played in the Champions League and I don't know if I will be playing in it with Lille or another great club."
that suggets that he wants out from his current employers, but it doesn't mean he wants to play champions league football immeidiately as he goes on to say "there has to be the right offer" so maybe guaranteed first team football is what he calls "the right offer" so i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at liverpool.
---------------------
So his great wish is to play in the Champions League and he says he does not know if he will be doing it with Lille or another great club. And somehow this makes you think he is going to leave Lille who are in the Chamions League to play for a club who are not. If he comes to us it has to be next summer after we have qualified for the Champions League. It will never be this summer.

Ed's what are your thoughts on Demba Ba of West Ham? Just turned 26, scored 7 in 13 games for West Ham, with relatively poor supply. Might be a decent back up striker?

{Ed002's Note - As I stated earlier today in the posts you could read or search, I understand he is available for free but he has a number of options available which make me think even if Liverpool did show interest that he probably would not want to be a squad player. Certainly Newcastle and Everton have an interest and both Lokomotiv Moscow and Standard Liege are also trying to persuade the player to move to them.}

whats the chances of Mccarthy joining. I have seen 90% done hoping not so. Thoughts Eds? {Ed002's Note - Read the earlier posts.}

28 May 2011 17:58:33
Ed i thought the deal was 90% done yesterday ? {Ed001's Note - I never said anything of the sort, as far as I know it is just rumours.}
--------------------------------------------------------------

Im sorry but im pretty sure i read ed002 writing this... let me have a look.

{Ed002's Note - I never said anything of the sort. My last words on the subject appear to be at 15:58 where I, at least in my opionion, clear stated: "I don't know of any "advanced talks"." If you look at the post on 28 May 2011 12:10:58 you will be able to see the full exchange.}

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Valencia believed to be in the region of 20m .
Also the deal with McCarthy is all but done with personal terms and medical all that's left .

when , who , how and source ?

when - last night
who - Juan Mata
how - We made a successful bid !
source - my only source who is normally correct . Sorry but I'm afraid I cannot reveal his name . Got the Luis Suarez one when the bid was submitted and got it right along with Torres to Chelsea thats all I have for now , I'll tell you more when I receive it !

story produced by goal, suggests eden hazard wants to play for a bigger club, do you think liverpool have a chance of signing him?
---------------------
Don't think so because he says in the story that "I have never played in the Champions League and I don't know if I will be playing in it with Lille or another great club."

That does it for me. He won't be coming to us.

operation was successful and now I can look for a good club [for my future]." Jovanovic said in the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. So He s going :)

28 May 2011 17:02:38
Is there any truth in our bid for mata being accepted? And is marveaux a worthwhile signing when he's extremely injury prone and because of the high interest his wages may be very lucrative? I have never seen him play, does his talent make up for this?

{Ed002's Note - I refer you to the earlier posts on Marveaux.}

28 May 2011 16:59:18
Dann and Friedel had their medicals completed.

28 May 2011 16:55:38
HI ED a question please I need answering thanks, if liverpool have agreed with a club on a cetain player are we not going to hear anything till the 1st of july or if the player is certainly coming will the club announce it and then the player just signs on the 1st?

thanks {Ed002's Note - It depends on what the parties agree. More often or not there would be an agreement to announce pretty much immediately that "Liverpool and Santos have agreed to the transfer of Neymar who will be joing the English club on July 1, 2011 subject to a medical." In some cases there may be a reason to keep it quiet whilst, for example, a replacement is sought. But generally, confirmation will be provided by an agent after a couple of vodkas somewhere.}

28 May 2011 16:49:32
Hi eds cheers for the good work. Any chance that we are looking at Juan iturbe looks a fantastic talent but I know that all the big dogs in European football are looking at him. Looks like he can become one of the worlds greatest, hes paraguayan but qualifies to play for Argentina and has a touch of messi about him. Red {Ed002's Note - Another 0/10 I am afraid. Iturbe will become a Porto player in June and a complex deal is being attempted to provision for a future move to Old Trafford.}

28 May 2011 16:48:15
Ed? has all talk died down on lavezzi or is there still a chance? {Ed002's Note - I think there is a possibility, but keep in mind that Liverpool's interest in Lavezzi pre-dates the January window. He has an agent in Frederic Guerra who does a really good job of talking up his players without being pushy; and a fabulous technique where he denies interest in his players from major clubs thereby attracting attention to them. It is also possible that he will stay at Napoli - who do say he is not for sale.}

Hey eds.. Can i ask you a few question.. Did mata from valencia is a possible signing for liverpool because i didnt even heard from the other news and if its true.. Im the first person whose gonna be shouting in this world and piece the earth into half.. Hahahaa... And one more question eds, if the transfer window is open, who are the player that you think that might be come to anfield?? Please answer it eds before i go to sleep... Please eds. :)

{Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, whilst there is known interest from Liverpool I suspect he may end up elsewhere as interest is also being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and it has since been quiet. As such, it would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join.

It is impossible to answer the second question I am afraid, or not without heading for the obvious answers of probably Sylvain Marveaux, James McCarthy or however. You see: what if Liverpool fail to offer enough money for a target; what if his club won't sell; what if the player won't move? Sleep well.}

Ed002 Isn't 8/ 10 a little high for Mccarthy as a Chelsea fan do you think the reported interest from Chelsea is genuine? (on Mccarthy)

{Ed002's Note - I'll stick with the 8/10 thanks. The recent Chelsea interest in McCarthy was never confirmed and I think probably based upon interest shown last year. Chelsea are on the cusp on the maximum number of non homegrown players so there will be occasional interest in players who will qualify as such.}

28 May 2011 15:52:08
Hey Ed002 RE:The question earlier when someone asked you if liverpool would be signing any more youth players and you said we've already signed a couple and alex o'hanlon is 1 well who is the other just out of curiousity??? {Ed002's Note - I can't recall, there was some discussion a day or two ago. These are just young kids and not something I am really hip to. Perhaps the club site would help.}

28 May 2011 16:07:43
Ed's, an interesting name I've just seen mentioned on the Fields of Anfield Road FB page, certainly someone I havens thought of before; Jack Rodwell. Have you any info on availabity or declared interest from any teams in the EPL?

GoodKopBadKop
{Ed013's Note - Man u are interested. I doubt everton would sell to us and I have heard of no interest from us}

28 May 2011 15:47:49
Mata to liverpool for 19.4 million pounds.

28 May 2011 15:44:52
any news on Marko Marin

28 May 2011 15:37:34
I don't see why we're so bothered about bringing in a new left back, Jack Robinson can play there, as can Danny Wilson, we should be giving the youngsters a chance to prove themselves, and if it doesn't work out, bring someone in during the January window. What do you reckon ed? Give the youngsters. a go or not? {Ed002's Note - There is always a need to improve as well. But sure, some will make it.}

28 May 2011 15:36:38
Ed, What about Theo Walcott? Hes a big time liverpool fan, only 22 and english! Surely we should be bidding for him? Hes JUST what we need!

T-Dog {Ed002's Note - Is he available?}

28 May 2011 15:36:08
I know liverpool don't seemed to be linked with him anymore but does anyone know what is happening with romelu lukaku because he is an unbelievable player? {Ed002's Note - Anderlecht priced him out of the market and now his agent is hawking him around English sides looking for a deal. Certainly there have been approached to Spurs and Chelsea.}

why's hulk a 0?
Olly J R

{Ed002's Note - Hulk is probably staying at Porto after signing a new contract with a nifty €100M escape clause.}

28 May 2011 15:00:37
This is is pure conjecture but these are the players I would love to see in the red of Liverpool! A couple of which might come off as well from what I'm hearing (no smoke without fire)
Dann
Enrique
Adam
Mata
Elia
A.Johnson
Marveaux
Gervinho

There are a couple of maybes above but would personally like to see them all come! Ed would one of you mind telling me what our chances of getting these are! Thanks guys and keep up the good work! i so want hulk to come he is fast skillful strong, he would add a new dimension to liverpool, i don't see why he can't come, ed tell me... {Ed002's Note - Probably staying at Porto after signing a new contract with a nifty €100M escape clause.}

On one hand I hear the eds speaking favorably of Marveaux's ability. I also read in the press that he is the natural successor to Molouda. On the other hand I hear that he's injury prone. But DC said he doesn't want to sign anymore injury prone players. Ed 002, is he really injury prone or do our sports medical staff feel as if he has fully recovered. Ed 002, does his ability honestly justify him being dubbed, "The New Molouda". Because if he really is that good then he should be able to make the left wing his. Then if we go out & get Payet & Perotti the wide positions should be covered. Gervinho as a back up winger/ striker.

{Ed002's Note - He has been injured this season - I am not sure that makes him injury prone - Carroll has been injured this season, is he injury prone. The original Malouda quote was taken out of context. A coulple of years ago he was compared to Malouda because he looked like him. He is a predominently left footed player who can play anywhere across midfield.}

ed whats the chances of mata joinin would luv 2 see him in lfc shirt, don't see why not

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance. Please read the earlier posts where eveything is explained.}

28 May 2011 14:48:38
Look I am not gonna lie to you guys... If the Ed's aint heard about this, its probably just slipped under the radar like Suarez. (Not slating you btw..)

Matuidi, Adam, Downing, Friedel and Mata are set to sign, 2 or more will undergo medicals this weekend. Expect 3 more after this. 1 of which will shock, surprise and delight the LFC fans. (I don't know who it is myself yet lol.)

{Ed002's Note - Suarez did not slip under the radar by the way - it just dragged on in the public domain all month. But I agree that it has slipped under my radar at least that two of Matuidi, Adam, Downing, Friedel and Mata will be having their medicals this weekend.}

Hey ed,

What about the news of Vargas? Is it true that a bid was launched at around 20mil? He's quite a good player. {Ed002's Note - It is what is being reported - and it is euro. I am not surprised that a bid may well have been made. Vargas is different from the other left sided players being looked at as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. His crossing is excellent (Le Saux at his best) and Fiorentina accept he will leave. Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have also shown an interest. We knew he would not be cheap.}

Hi eds 1st time poster just wondering how you rate the chances of Scott Dann joining Liverpool. He's a friend of my cousins but I've not heard anything from him. He is a life long Red and Kirkdale born and I think he'd be a great addition to our defence...

Also wondering how you rate the chances of Eljero Elia to sign?

Thanks! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps you could have your cousin score some up to date news for us. I have Dann 7/10 and Elia as 4/10.}

Javi Martinez would be the perfect player to replace Xabi Alonso after all these years. Good Strength, Good Tackling and Amazing Vision and only 22.

Edd chances out of 10 for this player please {Ed002's Note - It is that deja vu feeling again - takes me back half an hour to when I last answered this question.}

Ed is demba Ba free this summer due to the hammers relegation ive read somewhere he is and do you think he would be a good squad player for us? cheers Lee YNWA {Ed002's Note - I understand he is available for free but he has a number of options available which make me think even if Liverpool did show interest that he probably would not want to be a squad player. Certainly Newcastle and Everton have an interest and both Lokomotiv Moscow and Standard Liege are also trying to persuade the player to move to them.}

28 May 2011 14:26:10
I've been thinking and ed002 says we may have blown a chance to get Honda in January which is fair enuff he is probly right. Arda Turan is a player who would literally ride a donkey to Liverpool looks athleico bound because we didn't follow up our interest in him...there are other players that fall into this category which I can't think of off the top of my head but surely we must have identified better options than these that we could get which I find intreeging the bottom line is missing out one these players especially Honda and Turan COULD be a blessing in disguise....

Edd chances out of 10 for this player please {Ed002's Note - 0/10. Sorry. I of course expect to be trashed for this gloomy outlook I have for him joining Liverpool.}

A Liverpool executive team and representatives from WMG Management are flying out to Madrid next week to negotiate Steven Gerrard's move to the Santiago Bernab u, Liverpool want £30 million or a swop deal including Xabi Alonso. The manager thinks it is time to cash in on Gerrard and use the cash to start rebuilding the team. Jos Mourinho is a big fan of Gerrard and is pushing the deal through with President Florentino P rez now that the General Director Jorge Valdano has departed.

28 May 2011 14:04:04
Don't rule out the possibilty of Liverpool signing Aguero or a similar big name signing. We lost a major player last season... Torres.
He was a great player for us before last season and sold more shirts than any other player in the premiership. So I think we will be
looking to sign a big name firstly to fill that void on the field and secondly to help us further promote the club brand globally and attract
other star names.

So lets see who it could be.. Aguero, Benzema, Hulk...????

Seriously lads thers no point getting a 20 - 30 mil striker like Benzema or Hulk .. We have Suarez and Carroll up front .. not gonna play 4-3-3 after kk said a few weeks ago we need wingers .. if he wanted to play 4-3-3 he wouldn suggest wingrs .. the only other option if we bought a striker worth that is putting Suarez on the wing but why do that when hes playing amazin upfront ?? Sylvain Marveaux tells L'Equipe he hasn't agreed to join LFC yet but will definitely be playing in England next season. What is your rating for Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - 9/10.}

28 May 2011 13:54:32
People are being very negative regarding signings. Liverpool are trying very hard to negotiate with the players and agents that fit liverpools new transfer policy which is basically young, a good re-sale value and good statistics. Truthfully liverpool have contacted various clubs one being Athletico regarding Aguero, they wanted to negotiate however Athletico said they won't negotiate as the buyout clause is fixed. LFC will know monitor the situation, obviously waiting for money bags to get involved. They also enquired about Diego Godin, which they are unwilling to sell, however LFC will try to "test the water" later on. As for other teams in spain Valencia have been approached about Ever Banega and Juan Mata they would be able to leave for the asking price. Representatives have spoke to Mata's Dad (his agent) who is impressed with liverpool, and if the cash is put on the table Valencia would except, although then it is down to Mata and he is currently on international duty. As for Perotti it is not crystal clear as reports are saying negotiations are on going however Sevilla are trying to get every penny. Liverpool have also been in contact with Lille, Bayern, Lyon, St Etienne, Napoli I am not saying we will get these players but efforts are being made. Faith should be kept and i wouldn't spend my time posting this if it wasn't true. I don't want to miss lead fans, just inform.

ed whats are chances of falcao and how much we looking at 25-30m.cheers DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - 1/10. Falcao is a very good player and has been watched by many of Europe's elite with Aston Villa, Tottenham and Arsenal showing an interest from England. have shown an interest. For me, I expect the Porto side to stay together with the Coach Andre Villas Boas and to take a shot to see how far this side can get in the Champions League - remember 2003 and 2004? We will have to wait and see but I really cannot see a move to Liverpool happening. He would not want to sit on the bench anywhere.}

Question for the ed. In the Jan transfer window we where heavily linked with Keisuke Honda, it was also stated that standard charter wanted use to bring in some Asian payers. With all this in mind is there still interest from the club in this player? As I believe it would making footballing and commercial sense, {Ed002's Note - I guess the first point is that Standard Chartered are not dictating the transfer policy and bringing players in for commercial reasons is not something I could ever endorse. Secondly Liverpool may have blown their chance with Honda in January when he was available and Wolfsburg are now interested in him. Finally, Japanese players do not fit the "Asian player" profile well. As a nation there are long running political issues between Japan and China, Korea etc that keeps them at arms length.}

28 May 2011 13:19:16
Ed. What about Arturo Vidal midfielder of Bayern Leverkusen?

He has just 1 year left of his contract!

{Ed002's Note - He seemed to be Barcelona bound then declared he wanted to join Bayern Munich and leverkusen said he was no linger for sale. Seems unlikely and there is no known interest.}

28 May 2011 13:10:50
ED - Mcarthy...... What his 1-10 chance of being a Liverpool player next seaosn ? {Ed002's Note - I have him listed as a 8/ 10.}
Also has mata changed considering we have supposedly contacted Valencia and his father ? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Mata remains a 3/10. There is certainly interest in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, whilst there is known interest from Liverpool I suspect he may end up elsewhere as interest is also being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and it has since been quiet. As such, it would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join.}

28 May 2011 13:08:31
Edd what are the chances out of 10 of us signing Balazs Dzsudzsak ??????? {Ed002's Note - 3/10. Liverpool, CSKA, Juventus, Villareal, Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, Schalke, Lyon - but he says he wants to play in La Liga. May still stay at PSV; if not maybe Italy.}

28 May 2011 13:06:49
is there anyone a member of koptalk? if so, are you under an oath to speak about rumours on that site? {Ed002's Note - We don't talk too much about such thinks here but recommend you ask on their forums.}

28 May 2011 13:06:28
Liverpool will sign Izaguirre. He is pretty better than Enrique or Cissokho. He is a solid left back and he has dribbling abilities couple with a fine crosses for Andy Carrol, Dirt Kuyt and Suarez. Aside from the above qualities, he is a good finisher. Expect LFC to sign him any moment from now. I have been posting this rumour for sometime now evn before we are linked to him. Alberto Acquilani will not be playing for us next season as he has said openly that we will love to play in Italy particularly Juventus.

Aside from that, don't expect LFC to sign Aaron Lennon, Ashley Young, Enrique even aguero.

We are going for quality and premier league proven players like Charles, James McCarthy and Charlie Adam. Elia, Arda Turan and Mata are all but realistic addition to the squad.

28 May 2011 13:06:25

Ed he's a player I first mentioned back in January but do you think, now that Real's interest seems to have waned, that Lucas Barrios could be a target

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Which player Chris?}
-------------------
sorry Ed my post was probably badly written the player I'm asking about is Lucas Barrios

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He is unlikely to be interested in moving from Dortmund to Liverpool.}

28 May 2011 12:32:39
Hi eds! Do you think realistic signings would be
Freidel
Enrique
Dann
Downing
Mata
Marveaux
and maybe Shane Long who I have to admit has shown a lot of potential since Christmas. {Ed002's Note - Not all - there are four predominently left sided players in the list.}

Ed anything new on the McCarthy story ? Is it true ? Will we sign him ? Cheers mate. {Ed001's Note - only thing I know about McCarthy is that we have tracked him for years, I don't know of any move for him this summer, but we have been inquiring about central midfielders for weeks now, it really would be no surprise if we asked about him.}

the rumours of Diego Perotti being our first signing are gathering pace!, ive heard this from a number of people what are your thoughts on this ed? gonna happen? {Ed002's Note - There is a good chance of Perotti - but I don't know anything about it being the "first" signing.}

28 May 2011 12:06:14
Because of where the club is right now, i think people need to realistically think about the things that they write or say. We are not going to sign big name players such as aguero or hazard or even mata, sorry to be so negative but it is where the club is at the moment. We are not in europe at all, that makes us just like the other 14 prem clubs with no doubt nothing to play for again and we will still be having these conversations this time next year about fantasy wish lists and all that stuff. We have to aim low now as we are no longer one of the best teams in europe
My signings:adam, friedel
Thats all no big names or big money

28 May 2011 12:02:55
Have liverpool shown any interest in martin marvin? He got a lot of assists and people are saying that DC is basing his transfer targets on statistics and age in a new transfer policy. {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of. Dortmund, Lille, Lorient and Anderlecht have enquired after Martin Marvin.}

28 May 2011 12:00:34
Rumours with some truth are that LFC will pick up John Carew on a free and off 60k a week, Adam Johnson, Stuart Downing and Mata are next targets with a possibility of signing Lennon for a swap deal with joe cole plus 10.5m. It has been said that the likes of Poulsen, Maxi, Jonovich and Aqualiani are all out of favour and will be moved on, alsothe likes of Shelvey will go out on loan for 6 months up to January transfer window for 1st team experience week in and week out.

28 May 2011 11:53:03
Why have we agreed to a cut price of 8mil for Alberto Acquilani? He's worth well over 10mil right? Are we looking to use him in a swap for a Juve player?

{Ed002's Note - The player does not want to return to Liverpool and the club need to cut their losses. I did not know that a deal had been agreed though.}

28 May 2011 11:48:19
Hi Ed just heard that liverpool are in deep negotiations with Diego the brazilian. Dalglish thinks he can get the best out of lucas with another brazilian superstar. Do you know of any truth to these rumours? And also hear that Mesut ozil is unhappy at Madrid and Liverpool are interested any truth ? Dave. {Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar. I don't expect Oezil to be leaving Real Madrid this summer.}

28 May 2011 11:47:57
Morning Ed I posted a couple of days ago that I had been told that Bradley Johnson was moving to West Brom so that Chris Brunt could move to Liverpool, please tell me there is nothing in this!

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I have to say that I have heard nothing about it, but it wouldn't surprise me, he is a very tidy player, similar to Charlie Adam in a lot of respects.}
-----------------------
I'm assuming you are referring to Johnson being a tidy player so maybe it's possible. To be fair my initial thought on Brunt was that he's not good enough but the more I think about it the more I think that we could do worse, he's got prem experience, he's versatile and he does have an excellent left foot maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all!

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I meant Brunt, Johnson is ok, not convinced he is Prem class though, he seems to go missing a fair bit when I have seen him.}
----------------------
Sorry for causing any confusion Ed. So maybe there is a possibility of Brunt then. Do you know if any of this Mata talk has any legs? And is the Aguero talk just people being massively optimistic or are we actually in bidding with a shout

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Chris, there is certainly interest in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, whilst there is known interest from Liverpool I suspect he may end up elsewhere as interest is also being shown by Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and it has since been quiet. As such, it would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join. As for Aguero, I don't see Chelsea going back with another package for the player just yet. I would not yet entirely rule out Real Madrid regardless of what has been said. Again I am not so sure Manchester United have completely removed themselves from the equation after failing, like Chelsea, to put a package together that would be acceptable to the player. After two days of talks in Turin, Juventus made a bid to Atletico Madrid that did not match their valuation - but it seems that they may have come up with an acceptable deal for the player's wages etc.. Now we have Aguero and his representatives trying to get Roma to make a bid. As we stand right now Liverpool are out of the loop. If they wish to get involved they know what they will need to do but I would suspect there is only the slimmest of chances of him moving to Anfield.}

Morning Ed's

I would be overjoyed if these players sign

Scott Dann CB
Izzaguire LB
Matuida DFM
Mata (wing)
Marveux (wing)
+ Striker (long, Whickham, Osvaldo, Falcao, Hulk.)
Elia , Perotti or Marin (wing)

Players I don't want to see
Young (Too inconsistent)
Downing (talented but don't know if top level)
Diego (may be big trouble)
Adam (Looks good in mediocre team would he be the same in a top team ?)
Barton (ok for bar room brawls but not for LFC)
Nzogbia (for me flatters to deceive to often in games I have been to)
Mcarthy (talented but not sure if he is ready to move up yet may need another year)
Enrique (Would prefer Izzaguire if straight choice)
Hazzard (Looking for a bigger move)
Aguero (massive money don't know where he would fit into the team
Henderson (young but defo not ready for big move lacks serious work rate)
Dzoudsak (would love him but does not want to come ...Fair enough)
Gervinho (seems to favour Arsenal .. Remember all the hype about Chamakh enough said..

Do you think these are realistic ED's or am I talking from my rear hole (LOL)

{Ed002's Note - It is about the most realistic list I have seen. You never know, but I would add gervinho to the list of strikers.}

In response to this:
26 May 2011 21:43:13
"Does anyone have real prove about any real signings the only 3 i reckon so far are brad freidal the winger from france and the lb from newcastle they look most likely as far as others like big transfers they are more likely in the weeks to follow ed's like to say great job and sorry for the guys giving you the abuse rob from ireland"

Though I've heard there are signings that are more likely to be all but wrapped up, the only proof of anything I have is that the Liverpool medical staff were consulted extensively about the types of injuries Scott Dann and Adam Johnson have had in the past and that people within the club are expecting them to sign. I'm thrilled about it. I reckon Johnson's impending arrival has Stevie G pleased and Carra has always wanted Brits (more importantly, Scousers) with some heart brought in.
Also, I agree with the editors that players like Aguero and Hazard etc. are extreme long-shots, however something has people inside the club buzzing. Let's be honest, signings such as Marveaux and Adam are not what convinced Reina to stick it out. While the signing of King Kenny is the most important in Liverpool's recent history and would be enough to please almost anyone connected with the club, Reina would have wanted more. Mata? Maybe. But I'm getting my hopes up for someone that'll blow our socks off. There are things happening that have been well protected and very few people know about them. Obviously Pepe and co know something.

Expect Johnson. Get your Dann shirts printed...

Just been told by my Spanish Journalist friend who's got very good connection in Spanish media circle, that Liverpool are closing in on 2 major deal. First is Juan Mata from Valencia for 15mil + Dani Pacheco. Deal is almost done and will be announced within a few weeks. Second is Diego Perotti from Sevilla for 7mil + Maxi Rodriguez. Sevilla agreed the deal in principal but the stumbling block is the salary of Maxi and they want part of his salary to be paid by Liverpool. But Liverpool is not willing to do so. Both parties will sit again shortly to find a solution. But Liverpool is now pushing for deal as they have missed out on Ashley Young but KK and DC identified Perotti as the top wing target.

- Would love if this played out. Both are top players.

Morning Ed I posted a couple of days ago that I had been told that Bradley Johnson was moving to West Brom so that Chris Brunt could move to Liverpool, please tell me there is nothing in this!

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I have to say that I have heard nothing about it, but it wouldn't surprise me, he is a very tidy player, similar to Charlie Adam in a lot of respects.}

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I meant Brunt, Johnson is ok, not convinced he is Prem class though, he seems to go missing a fair bit when I have seen him.}

Does anyone know if we are looking to bring in any other sponsors to the club, and do we get any money from the Honda deal? or is it we are just now affiliated with them Ross

Joe Cole plus 4m for Aaron Lennon!

Dont be so stupid, it may well have looked possible if you had left out cole, its becoming less of a secret that IF silly bids come in for lennon and huddlestone spurs will listen, spurs are looking at the other end of the silly offer scale! anyway according to info lennon has already turned liverpool down and huddlestone has turned down malaga!!

The new lfc transfer policy will look at age, statistical performance, projections of future sell on values etc. On this basis expect the following:
LB: Izaguirre or Enrique or Cissokho
CB: Dann or Cahill
CM: Matuidi and Diego
LM: Mata
RM: Elia
Striker:Cavani

Hearing Liverpool have a deal for Thorgan Hazard from Lens not sure if through and about other rumours like Aguero and Neymar forget them
Aguero is 1/ 10 and Neymar is no chance and do not want him anywhere here either, would rather have Ballotelli (honestly)

The reason we are looking at more CM's or CDM's is that we're looking for depth in that position, and as there will be 3 used every week in one form or another, we will need at least 6 CM type players ready to play at any given time. the formation will change and the players will change depending on who we come up against, Kenny is not the type of manager to have one style of play and formation and just take to every team with that (ie: arsenal, look how it works for them), he will alter players and formations depending on the situation at hand.

New singings i am guessing would be: long, downing, mata, mccarthy izaguirre and possibly javi martinez

Power in depth, versatility and the ability to adapt and improvise

28 May 2011 09:22:32
Kenny expects deals for 6 players to be completed this summer. 3 with premier league experience in scott parker, james mcarthy and charles n'zogbia with potentially n'gog in part exchange if they will have the lazy apse.

The other 3 will be from Comollis scouts and connections so expect some unknowns and one very big deal through the door from france, he has very good connections through out europe.

Morning Ed I've been reading a lot over the last couple of days about Elia. I think he may be quite an exciting prospect but I've read people saying he plays wide left and is a left footer, well I'm sorry but I've seen him a few times and I've always been struck by how one footed he is and it's his RIGHT foot that he favours. Have a quick look at him and you'll see he has no left foot (not literally before you make some sarcastic remark!)
That said I would still be happy if he signed I'd like Adam Johnson too then we could have 2 wingers who are better on their "wrong side"

Sergio Aguero will join Liverpool to partner Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. £39Million bid made from Liverpool last night. Permiership title in the bag!!! YNWA

Damien. {Ed002's Note - I am sorry, someone may be teasing you about this.}

All the rumours we have you turn down and say no chance. You don't know everything you know.

Matt Wollacott

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry that Coentrao was nonsense as well but I will continue to be honest. Would you feel better if I lied about the rumours? And how would Aguero fit in with Suarez and Neymar?}

Joe Cole plus 4m for Aaron Lennon!

Elia, Clichy, Dann, Marveaux, Perotti and Gyan would better suit an attacking gamestyle that Kenny would implace for Liverpool next season.

Alberto Acquilani's £8million move to Juventus was in danger of being scrapped
after new Stadio Olimpico coach Antonio Conte made it clear he did not want
the Liverpool midfielder.
Aquilani was hopeful of making his loan spell permanent after Juve bosses announced they had agreed a cut-price fee.
dont really want him back as he made it clear he didn't want to play for us, only play's in the sunshine so get rid asap imo (sorry for the cut & paste from today's mail)eds

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew expects a decision on Gervinho's future next weekend. The Toon boss met the £15million-rated Lille striker, 24, last week but he faces competition from Arsenal and Liverpool. Any eds no if this is true?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, and if you read other posts you will know it it periodically discussed. Why don't you search for Gervinho?}

is it true but neymer and ganso {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you are referring to. Neymar will almost certainly move to Chelsea. Ganso's situation is more complex. Liverpool are not in the loop at all.}

Ed. Do you know if Liverpool have made a bid for Eden Hazard?

Rumors are flying around that DC is doing everything he can to sort out a deal. {Ed002's Note - Hazard signed a new contract with Lille and if he cannot get a move that suits him (Barcelona and Real Madrid were his preference) then he could stay and play in the Champions League next year. Juventus are very keen but cannot offer football at the highest level right now. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well. If he does move and I was pushed for an answer, I think he could end up in Italy, possibly at Inter. The recent Liverpool bid rumours seem to be little more than the recycling of the story of Damian Comolli asking to be kept informed of any movements for the player and this is several weeks old. If it were Arsenal or Liverpool I would say Arsenal.}

kenny said he wants players who want to play for us.

scott dann-lfc fan
arda turan-lfc fan
james mccarthy-not a fan but wants to play for us.
eljero elia-not a fan but says best club in england.
izaguirre-flattered by liverpool interest

so there we have a lb, cb, cm, two wingers all who want to play for us.not after money.
dann 10m
mccarthy 10m
izaguirre 8m
turan 15m
elia 15m so we looking at 58m or under.
