Why have we offered Carrol to City EDS? {Ed001's Note - we haven't.}

Did we make an enquiry for tevez then ? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

Ed u say that with certainty but your wrong, we have offered Carroll in a swap deal with tevez , that was an enquiry made on Thursday. Did I not say kenny is close to losing faith in him, also even kenny has seen we play better wivout him and wiv a pacy striker.RedTurk

Just checked out Danny wards twitter. No confirmation of which club he's moving to just that he's had a medical. Is it definitely LFC?

Who are you talking about !?

Danny ward. A young welsh goalkeeper. Aged 20 playing at Wrexham. All tweets to him have been "good luck at LFC" "you're always welcome back on loan." apparently a 100k deal has been arranged for the next joe hart to help cash strapped welsh outfit.

Liverpool looking at taking man city striker carlos tevez on loan

Why would liverpool take him on loan when time n time again he has stated that his family are not settled in this contry?

Also I can't see us paying his astronomical wages of over £200,000 a week, even if city were to subsidise some of it, the figure would still be huge. This is why I dont believe the Carroll-Tevez swap. No journalists seem to think wage-wise. Carroll is on peanuts compared to Tevez. We may have paid 35m for him but I'd say his wages are about the 30-50 thousand bracket, at most.

Tevez coming to anfield on loan thats bulls**t, mancini didnt put him on loan for milan clubs, do u think he will put him on a loan for us

Won't happen as Citeh want a sale

3 rumours on here that people gnaw on like a dog on a bone.Cavani to the Reds.Tevez to the Reds.Torres back to the Reds.NONE OF THEM WILL HAPPEN!Now give it a rest it's boring.

Just a thought and i dont believe it would happen for a minute, but think, if Tevez came on loan we get a decent striker, we still have to play utd away and spurs at home which would give us a better chance of beating them and less chance of them catching city for the title, we also dont have to play city again now so u can see the angle. anyway still dont think it would happen!

Hi Eds
You say you think there will be one possibly two signings this transfer window so i was wondering, do you know who they will be and if so have they been mentioned on here alot.

Deano 1 {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

You dont know anything {Ed002's Note - I know that there will probably be no end to abuse from anonymous trolls like you.}

where does everyone think Suarez is leaving? you obviously didn't watch the game today where he was made up when Kuyt scored, he loves the club.

And the fact he had his daughter wavin a liverpool scarf ,hes going nowhere

All we need now is him kissing the club badge on his shirt and it'll be confirmed?! I though that traitor who went to chelski loved the club too!?
I'm afraid theres little loyalty in football these days ;-(
5uarezTimes

Don't you think thats a very naive view of things, any player would celebrate a goal for the team they are currently playing for and of course his kid is going to support daddies team.

Almost every single player has shown how much they love their team, until the day they start playing for another team.

(by the way i don't think he's leaving either, but not because he "loves" his club)

Money Talks..

He as everyone player these days, doesn't love the club, but the people that pay his wages, and if another club offers him bigger wages, he's gonna "Love" them.
Personally i would be open to him leaving, for either big money or a swap deal, e.g. Alonso and ozil coming our way.

He already did, after scoring his second against stoke in cup game in october

Hi (Ed02) This is not a moan, just an opinion. It really is looking less likely now that any one will be signed.
Do you still think anything will happen?
Can we cope without new additions?

Thanks a lot.

Paul. {Ed002's Note - Well a year ago two players signed in the final days.}

28 Jan 2012 21:51:15
1) I cant see suarez going anywhere for 2-3 years at all.
2) i cant see CAVANI coming to liverpool.
3) i cant see any team changing signings.
4) Liverpool won't get anyone this window.

Are u blind you can't see much

You don't need number 3, number 4 trumps that

Welcome to the site mystic meg...

To much bashing the bishop eh
Ben irish

There's a lot that you can't see - have you tried Specsavers?

I did not know stevie wonder was a red!

I say give the youngsters at Liverpool a shot at first team football. It would be more rewarding (if successful) and less expensive (regardless of outcome)....

28 Jan 2012 21:27:26
Eds i think i saw you worte nilmer will go back to brazil. Is that cuz he's not interested in other leagues ? Think he will be a good signing. Pops {Ed002's Note - Sorry, but I have no idea what his views on other leagues are. Liverpool have not shown any interest in him. As I said, he will move back to Brazil.}

I cant say for definite as I have had not had it confirmed by other sources, but I was told by a source who is usually very accurate with madrid info that Nilmar is a little homesick and feels that now is a good time for him to go back to Brazil and finish his career there.

Back of Sundays Manc Mirror. City snub #Lfc offer of swapping Andy Carroll for Carlos Tevez.

Manc Mirror says it all! Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story! Trash story trash paper!

If its right it will just be paper talk

Isn't Tevez going back to West Ham?

dmedly

I think this was made up by a journalist from the observer who couldnt be ar*** getting out of bed for the day.

ED what does this mean please give us some in sight into the CAVANI situation. {Ed002's Note - There is no Cavani situation that I am aware of.}

AAARRRGGGHHH - jesus christ! you Ed's must get seriously p'd off with people like this!

28 Jan 2012 21:11:31

nick_upton97 {Ed002's Note - And you have read through the other posts and don't understand the answer given there?}

"To me playing in the Champions league is second only to playing in a Carling Cup final at Wembley and the last 16 of the F.A cup" - Edinson Cavani quoted in the Uraguayan media a sign he is surely on his way...... (We're all aloud a smile today) :-)

Did he really say that? :o

Maby he is signing for cardiff then lol

Rubbish

Messi Quoted today

" Cavani never said any of that, although you should expect me to join liverpool in next couple of days , also your all aloud to smile today because of this pointless new "

LFCHero :)!

Is ur ganna lie at least make it believeable

Ffs its a joke clearly.. haha

Messi, Higuain, Cavani, Hazard have all handed in transfer requests at the thought of being able to play against Cardiff in the Mickey.... i mean Carling Cup Final.

And where was this?

28 Jan 2012 20:58:55
Apparently the signing of the young Danish keeper to replace Doni will be confirmed on transfer deadline day.

He was Swedish about 2 hours ago?!
Gooch

Is it lindegaard?(sorry about the spelling)

Its a welshman Danny ward from wrexham watch this space 100K deal as i have stated before.
andyp MUFC

Why we have a gr8 keeper on loan at hull

Swedish

Think you refeering to 22 year old swedish talent Kristoffer Nordenfeldt. Lfc been looking at him for 2-3 years now

Pretty much comfirmed on his twitter @dannyward_13 and his team mates @creights5

28 Jan 2012 20:50:45
i hope luis suarez dosent go to real madrid i know he will be getting a lot of stick but surely he's strong and can take it if not carroll looks like he's getting used to the squad after todays performance and we've got kuyt.

I cant see suarez going anywhere. His celebrations today showed he loves the club

I really believe Carroll deserved MOTM. Was instrumental through out the game. He was the reason for both goals, firstly causing De Gea trouble at corners and also with a fantastic head on to Kuyt. His touch and build up play was also first class today. We basically have got a new striker in as he is showing the reason why we were so keen on buying him.

If you saw his celebrations today you should know that he's going anywhere4

The guy above, i think youre right. Carroll was a big player for us today. He was right in front of De Gea, who was clearly sh*tting it today. Carroll got some good touches today and again, he hit the woodwork.
Maybe the tide is turning for AC, he is improving, dont forget he is still young and has a hefty price tag over his head - that price isnt his fault. We need to get off his back and get behind him and help build his confidence.

Im impressed to see supporters finally backing AC. I have been a LFC supporter for nearly 30 years and recently i have been ashamed with the amount of stick we have been giving our players. To be a LFC supporter used to mean we supported the players through thick and thin, nowadays some supporters just jump on the back of players straight away.

My money's on Andy Carroll to get a brace against wolves. The first a simple header and the other a left foot screamer!!..Go Andy!!

If you're right about the wolves game I guess we can expect headlines like "As Cool as AC!!"... Get it :D

28 Jan 2012 20:46:10
Any interest in Chadli from twente or tadic from groningen? Would love nicolas gaitan to be honest. And lodeiro wasn't at the game today. Cheers

Any interest in them mate? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

28 Jan 2012 20:45:55
I may be really late on this one, but danny wilson has gone to blackpool?!?!?

Eds I'm watching the con and very impressed with a.ayew ghanas no.10 plays for marsielle Very skilful and unpredictable player would be a decent buy to play wide or behind striker.... Could do worse Ed. What you think....? {Ed002's Note - Potential buyers will be put off by him probably being included in teh Olympic squad and being at ath ACON again in January and February 2013. Perhaps after that; but I agree a potentially excellent buy.}

First post on here Ed(having followed for years), but wouldn't that fit part of Fenways transfer policy? E.g risking buying players that might be undervalued due to other circumstances. Suarez and Bellamy seemed to fit that bill, controversial and so cheaper than there actual talent would suggest. {Ed002's Note - Ayew will certainly not be undervalued by Marseille.}

28 Jan 2012 20:21:25
Talk sport say that the only player that will come come to liverpool is joao carlos texeira he also went on to say that jurado vargas is being looked at put are ot sure weather kenny will take any risk overall as a liverpool fan im happy but what if bellamy or someone gets injured hopefully texeira david will join his class!!

PLEASE POST. Have Liverpool followed up on their interest in Defoe. Last I heard it was going to cost us 10-12million.

Why would we want him he's useless, also why would the spuds sell to us?

No chance to much money and the wrong age, we want young talent Texeira would be a much better and a longer term solution

28 Jan 2012 19:48:59
eds any new on David texeira or any other possible signings!! please reply

sparky {Ed002's Note - Nothing right now.}

Hello Ed002,
Llorente scored three today for Bilbao. Is the late bit possible?
greetings {Ed002's Note - I expect Llorente will stay with Bilbao.}

Yes, Llorente will be staying in Spain living with his uncle Bilbao Baggins

These people who believe we will sign Cavani need to think for themselves. He is playing in a team which is in the CL and he will not give that up now. Plain and simple.

We should have looked at a loan striker IMO. Spending big now with not many good options available would be a huge risk. We need to finish 4th in order to sign the likes of Cavani. No CL = no Cavani.

Deadline day will probably disappoint many of the media rumour followers.

28 Jan 2012 19:44:34
every one you are all thinking to big why dont we cut on the price and get a striker like higuain tevez or alexis sanchez

The three reasons I can think of are real madrid, man city and barca. Though the city thing may not be as big a deal as the rest Tevez himself would be a reason oh and his wages.

You acuse people Of Thinking too big, yet you suggest three of the best players in the world...

Think he was taking the p&:s

Get Sanchez. lol.

Go back to whichever computer game it is that you play.

Unreal. Just ridiculous!

28 Jan 2012 19:34:44
A few rumours knocking about regarding Tevez. I would like to see us table a formal bid for him. He wants to play football and score goals, and he'd do the job for us. Fair enough, he's had some trouble off the pitch, but that one incident at Bayern wasn't the sole reason Mancini decided to drop him. It's clear to me that it's a complete clash of personalities with those two, with Mancini having the full backing of the board but Tevez has so much to offer, and we could get him for a song if City are that determined to get rid of him. As for his wages, I think he realises that no-one will be prepared to pay upwards of £200k, so he'll have to take a substantial pay cut in order to get in anywhere. He wants out of City, we need a goal scorer, it makes sense to bid for him. Just imagine what it would be like to see him and Suarez destroying defences.

It makes no sence at all he hasent trained for ages and he has been trubble were ever he has been pluss city only want to sell not loan him so just pointless he is a waist of space fact

Tevez is re joining west ham.

Square tomato

Anyone who thinks Tevez is anything other than a mercinary needs to look at what problems he's caused in his career.
Why would anyone want such a mixed bag of issues?

He wants out of England moving to Liverpool isn't going to bring his family back over!

^^ You forgot to mention he is a brat also ^^

And in a year he will start playing up like he has done with every other club, wake up

Can the eds please ban any numphty asking for Tevez to sign for us?????? How f**king stupid are some of the so called fans on this site. Probably the same who said Kenny should be sacked a week ago!

Its going to be in the back pages of the mirror tomorrow,Swap deal with Carroll utter bulls**t...He wants out of the UK.

Why bring someone in to the club who is going to upset the apple cart if he was That good a player and if he was quiet and easy going do you not think unt would of kept him it wasnt his wages why they let him go it was because he thought he was bigger than anyone else in the club

Quite frankly i dont know why everyone thinks Tevez is a problem - Mancini is the problem !
Mancini would leave his captain and leading goalscorer on the bench for many games while playing his own new boys!
Do you blame Tevez for getting peed off?
The guy wants to play and score goals and he is one of the very best in the world at this - he plays with passion and determination - how do you think he felt being left on the bench when he was fit and able to play?
Mancini is THE PROBLEM NOT TEVEZ
I would snap up Tevez immediately so he can be unleashed as he would have a strong point to prove to Mancini!

28 Jan 2012 19:25:01
2 players only should leave liverpool from now till the summer are johnson and maxi
the fans hae too much love for the others to leave

Since when have the fans liking for a player prevented them being transfered? The manager makes the decisions and they come or go on his say so! You're posting nonsense!

Maxi will leave in the summer probable go back to argentinia but glen johnson only signed a new contract 6monthes on so ago dident he

I love glen johnson.

28 Jan 2012 19:16:47
Poldolski scores again,why are we not trying to buy him is there interest there ed? {Ed002's Note - Galatasary, Lazio, Lokomotiv Moscow, Schalke, Anzhi, Zenit and Arsenal have shown interest in Podolski that has been confirmed. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination. A summer move may be more likely than a January move although Lokomotiv will try and negotiate a move in the coming days.}

A fat help his lone goal was for his team as they got hammered 4-1. What did he do the rest of the game?

BooDaBooze

28 Jan 2012 18:54:57
Liverpool are set to sign youngh wrexham and wales international goalkeeper Danny Ward in 100k deal.

I hope so i have seen this kid play and he is huge !! LTP THE RED

He is one to watch for the future, great presence on the pitch. All round keeper.

28 Jan 2012 18:52:23
Liverpool looking to strengthen their attacking options in the near days and are opting for someone like Cavani or possibly Demba Ba

Newcastle have just signed his best mate and sit above Liverpool in the table, why would they give him to Liverpool and take a Donkey?

28 Jan 2012 18:51:17
liverpool gonna sign cavani and luuk de jo jong for a total of 50mil and kuyt going to twente in SUMMER
Shanio1

You're drunk so go sleep it off! We haven't got £50 mill!

More chance of Igor Biscan coming back

Liverpool offering cavani for 40 millions

If that happens then you are about as jammy as Harry Redknapp's dog

No way i would sell dirk kuyt when we are in need of a winger, its kk that should give him a suitable role and make him a better player

28 Jan 2012 18:48:25
just to let everyone know Dirk kuyt is stopping at liverpool there has been intrest from italian clubs but kenny want to keep him.

28 Jan 2012 18:47:56
Apparently Dalglish wants to make a last ditch Bid to sign Carlos Tevez.It seems likely that on Deadline day City would accept a cut price of about 15m for him as they are keen to offloaf him.Dalglish has signed a few players who have had off-field issues such as Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy with the latter having made a huge impact s Tevez could be another coup at 15m.

Ya! and when Gerrard walks in the office and says I want my 220,000 pound aweek please. What will they say then! Ok we shall pay out a third of our income on two players wages!! I think not

Oh do behave. £15m? City have said the deal is on their terms only and they want £25m. Why would they drop it by £10m?!
And anyway, he is on ridiculous wages that we wouldn't pay.

YS

PSG have had a 21m bid turned down so why would they sell him to liverpool for less.
pluse do's anyone we realy want him in england? more hassle than wot his worth in my opinian

Tevez would'nt go to Liverpool! A loan deal is more do-able as he would get first team football and keep his player value up for a move in the summer transfer window. If this were to happen (unlikely though) it would benefit all parties involved. Tevez to help LFC push for 4th, City happy that Tevez' player value is maintained and Tevez knows he's off somewhere sunny in the summer.

A creep like Tevez only damages team spirit.He's p****d all over every English club he's joined and he can stay well away from Anfield!

28 Jan 2012 18:40:56
Excuse me if I've missed something here but have we signed Joao Carlos Teixeira or are we still in ongoing negotiations with sporting? Thanks

He is in the bag I believe!

JanBorman

28 Jan 2012 18:39:27
We won't be buying cavani we have carrol Suarez kuyt Bellamy in that posistion, not to mention the youngsters coming through, cavani will want massive wages and will expect to play most games, I for one don't want to upset the current squad that for the past 2 games have upped their game, buying cavani and paying him 200 grand a week would unsettle the entire team, use your heads space cadets!
Lfcmatt

Exactly we pick up for the big games and not the lesser that is what needs sorting

Yeah and then it will be 0-0 against wolves. Our consistency has been poor for a long time. We looked good when Torres was firing for us but we've been up and down ever since he lost form and left. We need some proven quality to accompany Suarez.

Youve got to be kidding me!

You've got to be having a laugh, Bellamy is 32 and struggles playing week in week out and its to his credit that he's played 3 times in 7days. Kuyts best days are behind him and if not on the bench will probably leave. Carroll is not and will never be good enough for our club. and then Suarez, who plays either alongside Cavani or Forlan for the national team. Now i'm not saying where getting Cavani at all, but we do need 2 strikers among many other signings in what needs to be a very busy summer before we fall so far behind that its too late

28 Jan 2012 18:20:50
At the game today and I was told by a few faces that we are interested in Pablo Hernandez from Valencia.I haven't read of any interest in this player since last yr,so I wondered if ED 02 can shed any light on him.It is only a rumour lads ,but thats what this site is.
Jiminy Cricket {Ed002's Note - I have heard the rumours but know of no confirmation. Will most likely not be moving from Valencia this January. Past interest has been shown by Italian sides Palermo, Fiorentina and Napoli but I suspect he will stay in Spain if he does eventually move.

Pablo Piatti and Ever banega is taking his place. and Valencia is out of CL so any Bid they will think about it for sure.

RedHeart

Told by a few faces??

this beats the cat next door hands down

28 Jan 2012 18:07:05
one player definitely coming in & most likely be David Texeira.. hearing the deal is nearly done.. but Gronigen asking to keep him until the summer.. if that's the case then expect an attacking player to come in [a winger]..

28 Jan 2012 17:51:53
Please tell me that reina to barca is crap. Got this from boyfriend of a secetary in the club. Dont want 2 believe it ed's have u heard anything. Franco {Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything.}

Load of trash

Looking at pepe's reaction to dirk scoring today i'd say it's total bull.

Mikey D

Really no big deal if he did go. He,s not the greatest goalie we've ever had is he.

Yeah sadly it's true and we're only getting cash plus Lionel Messi in exchange!

What a Load of Tosh

28 Jan 2012 17:12:14
hi eds do we have any chance of signing cavani as his side is doing no better than ours and he would be aa great signing. is he the most likely player to sign for us in the next few games?
{Ed002's Note - No.}

He would cost 50 million. Hmmm. Only City can afford this dude, or perhaps PSG.

28 Jan 2012 17:10:08
to be honest with you all i have never seen someone from the serie a be a quality player in the premier league so why would ou buy CAVANI. IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE FROM SERIE A PLEASE TELL ME {Ed002's Note - Zola, Henry, Vieira, Di Matteo, Di Canio ...}

Rushie spent a year at Inter...

Bergkamp, Van der Saar.....

With respect ed002 the cons outway the pros in the italian perspective {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean. The question was asked about any players who have been successful in the EPL after playing in Serie A and I gave some examples. Are you suggesting Henry, Zola etc were not successful?}

Eds is it possible to place 'like' buttons on the eds comments, i just love it when someone makes quite a silly comment and gets told straight off! {Ed002's Note - Unfortunately we have no buttons left.}

Rushie was at juve my friend but its a easy mistake

Rush was at Juventus mate

loafmaster flex

Are you for real mate. There have been some great players to have come over from Italy, and whilst they have been over here they have become legends as the eds mentioned, what a plonker

Jordan Rhodes scores again - Eds any whispers of him joining? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

28 Jan 2012 16:51:43
The swedish goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt will travel to Liverpool on monday. LFC is interested. This is no bulls**t, swedish press has written this now. Watch this!

(@38esposito) {Ed002's Note - It is not out of the question that Liverpool will sign a goalkeeper as Doni may be moving back to Brazil with Sao Paulo.}

Yep thats what we need a goalkeeper

Why is Doni moving so early ed? {Ed002's Note - I understand that he wants to return home to Brazil to finish his career. Ceni is bound to retire soon so Sao Paulo is a good option.}

This Jan Ed? Or the summer?

Thanks
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - I suspect this January would suit him best.}

Do you know of any intrest in Kristoffer Nordfeldt then Ed? I found a Swedish article, with an interview with him saying he's coming over to discuss terms on Monday.

Thanks Ed!

Burnsy {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of him at all.}

I live in sweden. It´s all over the papers. e is quite good. Played a lot for the national U21 team. He´s out of contract at the moment and comes for free if we decide to go for him. A top team in portugal are also interested

28 Jan 2012 16:01:00
amongst the absurd rumours people post on this site, there are a few very thought out posts. one of the points being made is that everyone is making a big deal of the fact that the owners have spent around £100 million in transfers, but what most forget is that we have also made about £70 million. so who could rule out a large spend again, but it is unlikely. eds, right now, how do you see this transfer window ending for Liverpool?
Australian Red {Ed002's Note - I will stick with what I originally said - one or two players arriving.}

And they wont be big signing as such but will work for us

28 Jan 2012 16:31:46
Not so much about CL or transfer fee imo. LFC would have to pay Cavani higher wages than Gerrard which they won't do. It is not the LFC way to pay ridiculous wages.

Besides, Cavani will go to Madrid in the summer, so I think Higuian or Benzema will be available.

Chuck Norris

Yeah that is a good point, I reckon Higuain will end up at Chelsea though and I doubt Madrid would sell Higuain and Benzema but I think Llorente will be a serious target for us in the Summer.
Gooch

150k a week (Gerrards) aren't rediculous wages then ? haha get a grip, you know nothing

28 Jan 2012 16:28:40
Hi (Edo2)
Nicolas Lodiero 100% truth....sat next to Louis who was holding the new Baby girl. Is he just a friend of Louis,and is on a visit, or could he be joining? I am not speculating, just curious and at the same time, hoping

Thanks Ed and enjoy the rest of your day.

Red Robin. {Ed001's Note - it is not 100% or even 50% truth, it was not Lodeiro, just a friend of Luis next to him, not Lodeiro.}

Its his best mate leo, luis posted a picture on facebook of them this week
Lpoolkris

The guy next to saurez looked nothing like lodeiro

Apparently Nicolas Lodiero was sat next to Suarez and Aurelio during the game, not saying he's joining but there could be something in it. {Ed016's Note - if there is proof i guess it would be a strong suggestion he is going to sign, if there is proof}

If it was the same guy I was looking at then that is no way lodiero.

Square tomato

That was never nicolas lodeiro, the fake rumour began on twitter.

It wasn't him. It was Suarez's friend.

He was not lodeiro, it was a friend of luis that goas by the name of leo

I've heard the same thing, I really hope it's true and that he sign for us.

Who is nicolas lodiero where dors he lay team and position please

It's not Lodeiro - it' Suarez best mate Leo

That man was NOT nicolas lodeiro

There was a bloke there couldn't say who though, anyone got proof

It wasn't Nicolas Lodeiro. It was Suarez' best friend who came to visit from Uruguay for his 25th birthday.

Would be happy with this if it comes off

Obviously you all dont have your specs on :) :) it was him he is over here visiting Suarez as Ajax are not playing, but it does not mean that he is signing for us :(

He was mate i noticed that aswell

I knew he looked familiar, thought he was a player too (gaston ramirez hahah) Posted juz after the match but guess it didnt get past the eds.

Heard that liverpool are weighing up a bid for edinson cavani from napoli to beat man city to signing him. he is rumoured to be available for 30 mil. Any truth ? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed,just how can you be so certain,there are may things us as fans never ever even get a sniff of,so im gonna remain hopeful,even if city go for him,would he be happy becoming a squad player like Dzeko,Aguero ?,i doubt it :) {Ed016's Note - he isnt moving in january}

Eds, with Cardiff being in the Carling cup final, does that mean they would get the Europa league spot if they won or not? Or would it automatically go to us? I only ask be are they are a welsh team and I remember similar issues arose when they were in the fa cup final a few years back and I can't remover the outcome.

cheers
davethebutcher

{Ed002's Note - If Cardiff qualify for the Europa League then they will be allowed to play in it.}

Thanks Ed. Appreciated

davethebutcher

Why should we even think about losing?

PITSILFC

Ed if we win it but also obtain europe through our league position do they not go into europe that way {Ed002's Note - Yes, as I said, if they qualify.}

Ed i thought carling cup works different to FA cup. If we get 5th or higher in the league then the Europa spot for the CC goes to whoever is 7th in the league. I thought beaten finalists in the CC cant qualify {Ed002's Note - You are correct - I misunderstood what the previous poster meant - I thought the issue was about Cardiff being in Wales. If Liverpool qualify for the Champions League and win the Carling Cup, 6th place in teh league will become a Europe spot as well.}

I don't think they will. The FA have said otherwise, they said that Cardiff accept they won't be classed as an English representative in European competitions as they are a Welsh club playing in an English League. {Ed002's Note - UEFA have previously made provision for Cardiff - in 2008 from memory. If The FA have decided otherwise I am not aware of it.}

Are you sure it's possible for them to qualify at all if they lose? I know the runners-up at the FA cup go in if the winners qualify through league position, but does that work for the Carling too? If LFC win the Carling, and both the winners and runners-up of the FA cup qualify through league position, THEN would Cardiff go in? {Ed002's Note - No, it goes to the league.}

Cardiff cannot represent England in the Europa league they are registered under the wfa or something this was discussed last time they got to a final and the fa confirmed it unless they have decided to change the rules {Ed002's Note - I refer to my earlier answer.}

shaqiri-15m

watch this space
REDFISH

Thats loltastic

Bugger Redfish you've kippered us with that tripe! I'll keep watching but I don't expect to hear from you again.

I wouldnt sign van persie for 34m, not even for 20 million, just because he is a success at arsenal means hes gonna reproduce it here

Are you high?

Does it hurt when you talk out of your bum?

He means Bob Van Persie from Basildon United.

Football Manager 2012 strikes again.

It's the " plus downing " that gets me, hilarious.

Siggle

I would pay 34m just to get rid of downinng

I think most people seem to miss the 'red herring'

The person who said they wouldnt sign Van Persie for 20 mil is a moron. I bet you say we should all be nice and dandy and get behind Carroll.

ed i've heard liverpool plotting a move for adrian marriappa, hes well fit, love to see us buy him.

rewflo

Rewflo are you a woman/girl or are you simply, just gay?

wafa

Bit sus mate. But sounds like your pretty keen on him. ha

Megan fox is well fit but i dont want kenny to sign her.

Your kind of guy then? Sorry not mine and why we'd need another defender is beyond me?

First post ,just to say i will settle for the carling cup and knocking the evil empire out . I nearly had a "crisis" watching ferguson's aftermatch bleat, today is a good day .

That wasn't a message from me. The give away is the structure of the message. I always sign my name in with a capital at the start of my name and always leave a one line gap before I sign.

Ed if I supply my e mail could you stop imposter from making me look silly?

Rewflo {Ed001's Note - yes, if you post an identifier in the email field I will make sure it is circulated to all the editors to look out for mate.}

Ya that's a great reason to Buy a player??
I'm hoping your female. But of course in these sensitive times I have no problem if your not!!!!

Hi eds,

Please store my email then imposter cannot make me look silly. Thanks.

Rewflo {Ed002's Note - But how do we know you are not the imposter?}

Is this the first Person to come out the Closet on the site Ed!!

Another defender really mate?

I can tell you that I have information mainly on Italian clubs and sent ed 002 a message a couple of weeks ago regarding a Madrid player.

I am the real Rewflo, and no not the toilet guy.

Rewflo

This is like a really crap Sparticus...

'I'm Rewflo!'
'No I'm Rewflo!'
'I am Rewflo...'

Fav post of the Week wind up or not!!! Not satisfied with making up a crap rumour for him. He also manages to make him look more camp than Butlins!!

Rob

Ok then, let's see you go to a forum and try and post something in French or German. Clearly this person doesn't speak English as a first language, but I bet you could write in their mother tongue as well as they have written in English. Just remember they are a red, and we are a global club!

According to Napoli page (not official), LFC offered 40M + Dirk Kuyt for Edinson Cavani.

We haven't GOT £40 million!

Kuyt is better than Andy Carroll will ever be ! He is lazy and crap

Is he he isnt crap he played a part in both goals and should of scored 1

Cut the crab and wake up! He is not coming! We are in the rebuilding process so would u all be patience? The best has yet to come!

Eds, in the summer,
Man city could well be putting in a bid for Cavani,
do you think this could lead the way for
Agureo to finally come to Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - Aguero will not move to Liverpool.}

The aguero rumors are back!

ED i take my hat off to ya for having to put up with nonsense like this
LeeWils

What kind of an person are you for even thinking of that ridiculous!

Ahhh yes, Man City will let their top scorer leave to a rival only 6 months after he joined and he will want to take a huge pay cut and play for an under performing team not in europe. If that makes sense i'd section yourself mate.

That's Ken Aguero of course

NO he won't be coming! Are you daft?

Eds how bout a prize for most outrageously stupid posts of the week?surely this one will never be beaten

ED, The Yonks where over here for the City game on Wednesday, and have supposedly stayed over for the United game today, do you think them being over here may be down to transfer dealings with the Yonks wanting to be there to do the deals and such? {Ed002's Note - No.}

28 Jan 2012 09:44:11
We are not getting cavani because he has champions league we don't and at 35million that is rather expensive for a player the might not play well in the premier leagu which is highly unlikely but still a possibility your thoughts ed?

What £35 million like they payed for Carroll who does not play well in the premier league? £35 mil is undervalued for Cavanni in Napolis eyes.

Just to remind you....what Napoli did to Manchester city!.....& who scored?, so, I think he's proven enough....

One name.... Andy carroll

Ye but look at Suarez he came when he had it near enough every player wants to come the prem so it could be a good chance

28 Jan 2012 08:09:15
Eds & Macca,

I may be being blind, but what's the story with Andy Carroll? Can you see us selling him? He's 22 and for that money surely it'd be ridiculous to get rid of him so soon! Just wondering if you had some educated knowledge on the matter?

Jonny {Ed002's Note - There is no story that I am aware of.}

He's 23

Whoopty do hes 23 mot 22. e worked his ass off today and fair play to him. he does work hard most of the time but the lads short on confidence i thought this run of games would have got him up and runnin. but i do believe a couple of goals in consecutive games give him confidence he needs. to b fair he gets no service downin is w#%k when it comes to crossing. he even backs out of alot of challenges. get the crosses in and big andy will start scorin! get in great result today am buzzin.
bulford -widnes ozy

Yes even after what i said early today i have to eat humble pie well done Andy .kenny has faith so and after today so do i .

After all the cavani and texeira rumours, this one is a huge possibility in the summer but this will happen only if we fail to sign cavani or david texeira this january then, we will go on to move for german sensation schurrie he will be willing to go to a big club and we will want to sign him on cheap before the euro's kk and commoli has been looking strongly on him as he fits the present liverpool policy of young players 15 mil may well lure the 21 year striker away.-mihir

28 Jan 2012 10:24:40
liverpool will get isla by deadline day to play on the right and are looking to bring in nathan redmond and wilfred zhar .
there will be a striker on his way but not who you expect i have good info liverpool are to take a chance on jordan rhodes .

targets for summer (if we get champions league )

EDEN HAZARD
EDINSON CAVANINI
CHRISTIAN ERICKSEN
MATTS HUMMELLS

Not all 4 though im not sure CITY could aford all them in 1 window
Shanio1

So we are going to buy Isla,Redmond,Zaha [ not Zhar ] as well as Jordan Rhodes.And then in the summer no less than 4 more players.I take it you are an oil prince and intend to bankroll all these multi million pound transfers since the club certainly can't afford them! It's all in your messed up mind lad!

I had a dream as well last night......

Liverpool are making early moves for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, according to Calciomercato.it.

Reports in the Daily Mail put Cavani's valuation at around £40m and that would be one hell of a price for Liverpool to pay given that they spent £35m on Andy Carroll just a year ago, a move that as yet has not really paid off.

Edinson Cavani is a top notch striker who can't stop scoring for Napoli, scoring 51 goals in 72 appearances for the San Paolo side, and there could be some scope in the rumour that the Uruguayan could look to leave his Naples club as currently Walter Mazzarri's side sit in seventh spot in Serie A, some 12 points off top spot and more crucially nine off Champions League qualification.

Liverpool could well do with more firepower, having netted just 25 goals in 22 Premier League matches but perhaps Dalglish is more likely to make a move for a back-up option rather than another big name signing who could rock Carroll's confidence.

That said, Cavani's physical presence could well lend itself well to life in the Premier League and his hold up play and ability to make something out of nothing could well make him the ideal strike partner for his fellow Uruguayan Luis Suarez, who is soon to return from his eight match ban, a period that has seen Liverpool fall off the pace in their chase for a top four spot.

Liverpool's American owners forked out over £100m on new players in 2011 but a large chunk of that outlay was covered by player sales, including around £65m made from selling Fernando Torres and Raul Meireles to Chelsea, so the club has the funds to make big signings, this fact being confirmed earlier in the week by chief executive Ian Ayre.

Cavani has been linked with moves to many of Europe's elite so one would wonder if the 24 year old would consider a move to Liverpool this month, a move in the summer may prove more fruitful but only if Dalglish has secured a spot back in the coveted Champions League club.

Who is the person who wrote that article? The Liverpool owners did not fork out 100M dosh. They only gave out about 30 something million. The rest of that money came from player sales. British news reporters are abysmal.

BooDaBooze

"but a large chunk of that outlay was covered by player sales"

This could actually have some legs in it, we spent £100m but recruited £70m through sales of Torres, Miereles & Babel so our net spend is £30m ... I wonder ...

Lets not forget the fee received (18,000,000) for Mascherano towards the end of the 2009 transfer deadline.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a bid to sign Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as Kenny Dalglish looks to bring in attackign reinforcements before the transfer window shuts. The Anfield boss has seen side has struggle for goals, especially during Luis Suarez's eight match ban, and the Scot is said to be lining up a bid in the region of £12m for the Dutch international.

Huntelaar has been in great form this season, netting 26 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for Schalke as they look to challenge for the Bundesliga title and Dalglish sees the 28 year old as a solution to his sides lack of effective firepower. Though the former Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan doesn't conform to Liverpool's youthful transfer policy the club are looking to secure a top four finish this term and therefore are willing to bring in the experienced striker this month.

Andy Carroll has struggled to make an impact in his first year following his £35m move to Liverpool, managing just four Premier League goals in 27 matches. Fortunately veteran Craig Bellamy has helped to fill the gap left during Suarez's ban but Dalglish feels his side needs another goal-scoring option and has earmarked a move for Huntelaar.

It may prove tough to persuade Schalke to sell such a crucial player as they find themselves tied with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table but Liverpool may feel they could tempt Huntelaar into moving to England as the lethal finisher has previously stated his desire to make a move to the Premier League.

Liverpool's owners spent over £100m on new additions in 2011 and the club's managing director David Ayre has confirmed that there are significant funds available to Dalglish if he feels the need to make signings before the January transfer window closes next week.

--------------------------

eds any truth would be a wise move as he and Suarez can play together. {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

Sounds like a good option. Id rather KK use the £35 mil he supposedly is willing to stump for Cavani and use it to get Huntelaar, Zaha and Hernanez

Heard we are after robino, millan want to sell him so they can buy tevez, they want 20 mill Liverpool are only after paying 15 {Ed016's Note - From a little bird?}

Lol he did nothing for city when he played in the premiership I'll run across an field naked if he signs ...

Just thought I would write a completely made up rumour to go with the other 99% of them on here, sorry to waste your time eds

Milan have ended their interest in Tevez, and haven't they signed Maxi Lopez?

It's not going to happen! Deal with it.

YS

How carp was Robinho when he was last in EPL? Overrated.

Who is robino?

Milan said that if we got Maxi Lopez then they wouldn't want Tevez. Hmm..

Although i do see kenny bringing the best out of him i sadly don't see it happening. i have seen him regularly for madrid nd he definitely has bags of talent

Ac bought maxi lopez because they didnt want tevez now gonna sell ronino to buy tevez likely story

We can only pray with you.....

Would have happened already.

Doubt this will happen before the summer.Nice thought though.

Hi Ed's - Once again great site!!

I have heard froma mate of mine who works as an agent that Carrol is for sale on the quiet! Daft I know but he says that Liverpool are willing to listen to offers of around 15 million.

I agree he has been very poor this season and also last. I don't think we play to his strengths under KK so it would make sense to me.

Have any of you heard anything on this?

Thanks

Jon LFC {Ed001's Note - nope.}

I hope this is true,i watched him the other night, now i know it was only for a few minutes that he came on but he was lazy,didn`t want to run and close down any man city player that was looking to pick a man out ?And i dont know if it was me(so the eds and yourselfs might prove me wrong on this)but i think he started laughing when he was told to get warmed up?
I dont like saying this about a liverpool player (i`m not one of those guys to slate the team)but i will make an exception with him.
eam

It's not very quiet if you know about it and its been posted online.

Through the Storm

Think about it. Think of Liverpool as a BUSINESS. Why the f-word would they want to lose 20 million (20 MILLION pounds!) in a space of a year?

I have also heard this. He has been offered back to Newcastle for 25 million but United only wanted to pay 15. Whether Liverpool want to take that, I doubt very much. I reckon they'd settle for 20 million which is what he's realistically worth. The source is 100% genuine.

Red Heart

People need to lay off the lad ffs! Whenever he gas a decent game kenny drops him straight away so he will always have no confidence till he plays a string of games!

Phil

Leave the Boy alone for a while!!!

KK knew of Carroll's lifestyle before he signed him- Carroll has had long enough to learn that he has to look after himself better if he is gonna get out of his current lapse in form. I say cut our losses and get rid now.

27 Jan 2012 23:50:24
Its true Liverpool have just signed David tex it wil be know in the next 24 hours

27 Jan 2012 22:29:01
Hi Ed's
Do you honestly think LFC will sign anyone this transfer window as it is looking increasingly likely that we wont, but in my opinion we still need a goal scorer and if possible a right winger.

Deano 1 {Ed001's Note - we are certainly trying to, impossible to be 100% certain, but it is still more likely we will get someone than it is that we won't.}

27 Jan 2012 21:47:38
Hi Eds more of a question than a rumour, all this talk of Cavani, not that I think there is any truth behind it but if we did make an offer & it was accepted do you think his relationship & the chance to link up with Suarez at both club & international level would be enough to persuade him to sign or would it be down to the usual highest bidder in personal terms & CL football
Also Eds all these BS rumours about Torres do you think it's just lazy journalism or is it possibiity that the player/agent/Chelsea are trying to instigate the move?
I am 99.9% certain neither will sign for us (although you could never say never with Kenny) but would just like your thoughts on a different view of the rumours however true or false they are, keep up the good work guys! {Ed001's Note - I think the only edge we have is Suarez and Coates, it has to be a plus, it is always nicer to work with your mates after all. It might possibly be a deciding factor, if it isn't enough to play for Liverpool and with those two, well then why would we want him? As for Torres, it is just a load of nonsense made up by journalists pandering to a few fans clamouring for his return.}
