After months of speculation linking the club with a move for the forward, Liverpool may finally make their move for Luuk de Jong in the summer.

There was talk making the rounds of Dirk Kuyt moving in the opposite direction should a deal come about, however Kenny Dalglish remains adamant that the 31 year-old still has a future to play at the club.

The Dutchman started his career in the Eredivisie playing for Utrecht and Feyenoord, and although the player might favour a return to his native homeland, Roma and Galatasaray are also said to be registering interest in his services.

De Jong has been in prolific form for FC Twente over the past year and is pushing for a spot in Holland's Euro 2012 squad.

The forward is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League and did not complete a winter switch in order to not put his international future in peril.

The 21 year-old has made an impressive 38 appearances for Twente already this season, scoring on 25 occasions and recording 15 assists in the process.

With funds supposedly available, de Jong could complete a move to Liverpool regardless of whether or not the club move any talent on, however Luis Suarez in another player being associated with an Anfield exit at the end of this season following his alleged racist controversy.

Should the Uruguayan depart as many are predicting, it will make de Jong's chances of a transfer that much more likely with the Reds then requiring cover.

If the starlet were to come to Merseyside, his signature would be expected to cost around £12m but the English giants face competition from Arsenal for the Dutch international.

Can't see it myself

Would be a great signing for liverpool , watched a bit of de jong this season , looks like the type of player that will just improve with age , and at around 12 million would be great . keep andy and luis , and always have one of the striker- youth players ready to step in , thats what we need ...............lfc

Can see luuk coming without suarez leaving to be honest

Hi eds we keep being linked with Seydou Keita of Barca do we hold an interest in him?

Also is it right that fifa are going to scrap the august friendlies?

Thanks
mighty reds {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware we do not have any recent interest in him, we did a while ago while Rafa was in charge.}

eds is there any chance at all of liverpool signing mario gotze?

{Ed002's Note - There appears to be no interest. Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this will almost certainly result in Goetze being available in the summer. Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

Always annoys me that we seem to have no interest in class players! winds me up

Ed001 do you think podolski and kagawa are possible signings in the summer? {Ed001's Note - I do expect both to move in the summer, so that makes them possible as we have interest in the pair. Still too far away to know how possible.}

I heard on the grapevine that Liverpool have had scouts watching Roberto Firmino of Hoffenheim with a view for a possible summer move. Could the Ed's confirm that this is true? (I used the search function, but couldn't find anything) Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Seems very unlikely to me.}

Afternoon Ed, I'm not one who usually gets excited by rumours of big name signings as they usually turn out to be unfounded nonsense but I'm hearing we could actually and genuinely be in the hunt for Hazard. Is this a rumour that could be more than someones fantasy?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - Comolli would like it to happen, so it is more than just a fantasy.}

Chris in Tamworth

Are you the same Chris in Tamworth who normally texts in to talksport?

Do u think comolli will make a move for him ed? {Ed002's Note - There is more chance than ever before with other clubs baulking at his attitude issues.}

I am indeed (for my sins)

Chris in Tamworth

Jesus i wasny expecting this , so ed would he go to liverpool ?? {Ed001's Note - the issue is his attitude, it is turning clubs off in droves, hence his flirting with every club in Europe over the last few weeks. It seems he will go to the highest bidder, I have no idea if that will be us, we might end up being the only bidder with the issues surrounding him. Or Kenny might over rule DC on this one.}

Oh my gosh Chris your famous! Lol

Why whwt sort of attitude problems dose hazard have ed?:? {Ed001's Note - he is a bit of a knob, very full of himself, bit of a Daniel Sturridge, thinks he has made it and is a superstar and wants everything to be all about him.}

We'll take him please. We're only going to get the top drawer players with 'issues' until we get CL football.

If thats how he is i would rather spend the money else where

He thinks a superstar for havin a couple of good seasons in france? seems like he is the sort of player that chavski or real madrid like to aquire. not the sort of player we need as a work in progress,on the up i might add.. we need stability players that want to play for our great club players that want the honour to wear the liver bird on there chest not arrogant frogs after a quick buck. and personally i think he would dive around like tom daley at the olympics like alot of these 'big names' majoraty cannot handle epl

Let's get something straight - Hazard will not sign for a club not in the champions league. {Ed001's Note - he might not have a choice.}

Hi eds, Sky Sports is reporting that we are going to sign former Arsenal starlet Havard Nordtveit. Any truth?

Cheers {Ed001's Note - we are interested.}

We are interested but even he says he may not come untill he learns his trade a little more

Hi Ed001 do we still have an interest in Luuk de dong ? if so it would surely would have been better to do a shaqiri type deal in Jan as I think his price will be sky-high after the Euros.
And fellow kopites I know we all want champions league but If we dont make it this year its not disastrous as i think it would mean the likes of sterling,suso and morgan would get their opportunity to shine.(which most of you talk about every bad game) {Ed001's Note - yes we still have an interest, I don't think his club would be willing to agree a deal right now to be honest.}

Why ed? is it because his price might increase?

Kaizer {Ed001's Note - yes, they will want to wait and see if he plays well in the summer and also to allow him to concentrate on playing for them for the rest of the season.}

Hope we get luuk he looks like a poacher we need. not saying we've had a bad season so far be we need a mata type player and a fast poacher before we can make a bigger step up then we have this year. overall improvement tho

I haven't heard much of him being linked linked to Liverpool FC but Iker Muniain is one heck of a player. EDs what's your take on this and where do you see him in the near future?
Furqan. {Ed001's Note - we were offered him in the run up to the January transfer window for a fee in excess of 40m, he is available for the right price. It is unlikely that our idea of the right price is the same as their's though. We are not going to spend that kind of money on a player who is only likely to be a back up for us.}

Back up .... are you joking he would imo be a walk up starter , never mind his age , he a real good player {Ed001's Note - where would he play? He is not good enough to replace Suarez and that is his main position. Bellamy is better as well. The lad has done nothing to deserve a huge price tag, only Llorente and Martinez at Bilbao have.}

What you actually think Adam would get on ahead of Munain remembering Adam has started 25 of 26 games this season

How would he be a back up? He is an awesome player and better than what we have got {Ed001's Note - better than Suarez? I don't see it, he can't cross so he is not going to do much out wide. I really don't see the need to splurge 40m on an over rated player.}

Sorry can't agree with that. He is pure quality and would be awesome outwide. Can't see how you would think he is over rated

Liverpool are lining up summer spending spree with moves for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez, 23, Barcelona's Mali midfielder Seydou Keita, 32, and Lille's 21-year-old Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard.(Daily Mirror)

Liverpool will also watch FC Basel midfielder Granit Xhaka in action for Switzerland this week, after receiving glowing reports on the 19-year-old starlet.Metro

Xhaka and hazard will not be joining!

Edd were will hazard be going not possibly assenal {Ed001's Note - it isn't decided yet.}

Never mind Hazard, Martinez is the main man from this lot; he would be a perfect acquisition and would thrive in the premier league. I have no doubt he'll be sought after by the elite of europe (inc Liverpool) so if we can get him, happy days. Personally I think there are better alternatives to Hazard; he looks a good player, but i'd rather take a player from the Italian, Spanish or German league with proven pedigree such as Marin or Munian.
Milamber

Never going to buy a 32 year old

So where buying another 3 midfielders must be TRUE!!
