A friend of mine who lives in Spain has just skyped me and during the conversation he said he has heard rumours LFC are about to bid for Pedro Rodriguez of Barcelona.
I have looked around the internet and seen a few scattered reports that we have had him scouted along with a few other premier league teams but no one has placed any firm interest in the player.
Have you heard anything Eds?

{Ed001's Note - his name has been bandied about a lot during the start of the season, but I was told that he was not keen on a move anywhere when he has a World Cup place up for grabs.}

I have also heard about this, it would definitely be the greatest signing we made since suarez :)

I posted about this a few months back as friends of mine in Barcelona told me the same thing. I think he's very under-rated and would love us to sign him!

Having posted this yesterday, the player later in the evening came out to say that although he was flattered by the interest in teams from the EPL (believed to be us, Arsenal and Man Utd) he had no wish to leave Barcelona.
So unless there is to be a change of heart from the player he will not be moving in the transfer window!

Aspas out / on loan in January?
Heard anything ed001 or 002?

I too was seeking the views of the eds on aspas, if u don't think he will go what is his future then? Will his playing time now gradually increase? He wasn't playing before when fit despite an early goal spree in preseason so are we going to give him time and a chance and is he willing to be patient?

{Ed001's Note - it is still early days for him, I expect him to get a few more chances over the course of the season, but he was bought for the long term. I am told he is being worked hard to increase his strength, as there is a feeling he is too weak at the moment. I would think that will help him a lot, as I do agree that he seems far too weak at the moment and is easily knocked off the ball.}

Morning all.
I read this morning that Montoya and Barca's contract talks have broken down.
I understand that we have been looking at him in the last few months and he is a target for LFC (Along with numerous clubs across Europe).
His contract is up in the summer which means he will be available on a free.
Do you think BR will make a move for him in the January window?
Its also reported that Ayre spoke with Barca not so long ago about this possibility and we are ready to make a move for him with this report about negotiations.
I know Barca have problems with cover in defence so would be reluctant to let him go, but would they really hold on to him and allow him to leave in the summer for nothing?
