now wolves have been relegated, I think we should raid their squad for their star players!

Tony_YNWA

Star player dont get relegated

Derek dougan
retired years ago mate.

And what star palyers would they be? I think you need to lie down for a bit

What star players? If they had any they woudent be regulated.

Good joke dude

So that we can get relegated next season?

AG

Wolves went down for a reason, no one was good enough to step up. I wouldn't take any players from wolves

Like who?

Yeah,lets repeat the charlie adam mistake.

I've always rated Kightly. If he's sorted out his injury woes then i think he'd definitely be worth a punt.

The only playears who can be looked at are Hennessey, Jarvis, Doyle and Fletcher. They may b useful SQUAD players but that's it. We need quality. I just don't get why we didn't push for Marc Albrighton ad got Downing...

Wow was not aware they had any ......... perhaps they should of played this season then oh wait , they did what 'star' performances ........... andy.

Maybe Jarvis that's it though

Derek dougan
retired years ago mate.

yeah and he died in 2007, get Andy Gray in!

Fletcher, kightly, jarvis!

I think you will find karl henry is a very good player

Tony_YNWA

They dont have any lol

Eds - what is happening with sterling? I've tried the search function but didn't see much. Why has he not played since his very promising cameo a few weeks ago? {Ed002's Note - Because he is a child still and I imagine not seen as ready. He is limited in the amount of time he is allowed to train, he has school work to do etc.. I suspect you will see more of him after the Christmas vacation.}

So he's not leaving then?

No.
He has his A-levels soon, so Liverpool are letting him study for them. seriously, it's not hard to understand why he isn't playing as much considering the time of year.

28 Apr 2012 22:24:36
This is just my opinion what LFC need to be serious contender for the title next year:
1. new manager (Guardiola/Joachim Loew/Luciano Spalletti/Marcelo Bielsa)
2. playmaker (in style like A. Pirlo, but younger, don't have a clue who exactly thou)
3. right winger (A. Johnson/Hulk/A. Di Maria/A. Robben/E. Lavezzi/Susaeta)
4. 2 strikers (G. Higuain/E. Cavani/E. Dzeko...)
5. new centre back and right fullback
6. sell: Spearing, Maxi, Carroll, F. Aurelio, Henderson, Aquaman and maybe some others

Yeah and about a £450 million pound transfer kitty

Why would they come to our club. And why sell hendo?

Surprised u dont have messi and ronaldo on your list of strikers :)

Im sure they'll love the idea of champions league football, oh wait...

Dear, oh dear.

We don't need a new manager , just someone who knows a good Player willing to join us

Wake up mate.

Dont know why your saying anything about a title, if liverpool put together a team that has the calibre to fight for a cl spot id be a very happy man!

Haha pure fantasy football, can you imagine the transfer fee and wages some of these would cost !!

Ronaldo and messi are not there because they are not winger

Must be some sort of wally! you'd struggle to get that sorta team on fifa!!

You bloke, you must know everything about everything, but first learn to read...
i said one right winger from those above, right.. you see the slash between the names
Why sell Hendo you ask? 'Coz probablly every granny could play better than him
And we just need someone who knows a good player willing to join LFC.. ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH MATE..
We need to change the game, KK still thinks we're in 80's
LFC payed for Carroll, Downing and your darling Hendo over 70M...
For that kind of money i would rather see for example Marco Reus as playmaker, Higuain and Johnson
With good manager who knows how to play the team and those 3 i mentioned we would kick some a$$

28 Apr 2012 21:54:54
Ed do you know if we made any offer for Marin? I have read he has just agreed to join Chelsea for a meagre 8 million.

Can't believe we never tried with a similar or even better offer.

Do you know if we did?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - There was no offer from Liverpool. There was an offer from Roma during teh week and interest from Spurs.}

We're we not interested earlier in the season ? Or was I just reading bulls**t from journos?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the recent past.}

He is poor, won't make it in prem

Hi Eds,
I can see us getting:
-Jackson MARTINEZ.
-Gaston RAMIREZ.
-Rasmus ELM.
-Markel SUSAETA.
-Mauricio ISLA.
-Craig GORDON.
OUTS:
-A.Doni.
-G.Johnson.
-F.Aurélio.
-D.Kuyt.
-Maxi Rodriguez.
-A.Carroll.
Questions:
1.Will Carra retire at the end of the season?,
2.Why is K.D scoting players knowing that he'll move upstair before he plays them in the legue.

Why the constant, kenny is leaving? why? for only coming in and winning 1 when we have not won even 1 for 6 years? and for guaranteeing european football next year and getting rid of loads of third rate rubbish?

james mcarthy ed? is he an option, hes a quality player, been watching him here n the last few wigan games v man u arsenal n lfc, hes been brilliant , long n short passing and incisive, rather think we should of went for hm instead of henderson,
5gold stars {Ed022's Note - Ed007 tingles in his genitals when you say James McCarthy, so you reminded me of him with this post haha. Funnily enough, we did enquire about him last summer and we were quoted (alongside Manchester United) around 25 million pounds. However, this summer the price should be lower, but I'm unaware of any interest from Liverpool in recent times. But interest could arise again if he were to become available.}

Haha brilliant, cheers ed, im sure the tingles are purely based footballing abillity. hes perfect for lfc , quick passing , kills me to say but he reminds me of scholes( he gave me sharp stabbing pains in my genitles!!)
5 gold stars

I have tingly ears too but not because of James McCarty. Is ed007 female btw? {Ed002's Note - He can be if you want. We would need to shave his entire body again, including the soles of his feet.}

We have both henderson and shelvey no need for james.

28 Apr 2012 20:45:24
just wondering why Caroll wasnt even on the bench today? has he been sent out on loan already or what? {Ed022's Note - I was wondering that myself mate, but I haven't heard of anything regarding injury. I can only assume something isn't quite right, but I will try and find out for you.}

Niggle in his groin

oliverpool

Kenny told ESPN that he had got a small groin strain. {Ed022's Note - Okay no worries, but it's still worth a check.}

Heard on EPSN that apparently Kenny said it was a groin issue. {Ed022's Note - See other reply.}

During the game the commentator said he spoke to dalglish an Carroll had a slight groin strain.
SB88

Groin strain apparently

There is unrest in the camp, no Gerrard last week, no Carroll this.
Me thinks some of the players know Kenny will be leaving and thnk they can do as they like until a new manager arrives.
Carroll's a problem that's why Ashley wanted to fly him down here in his private helicopter and Gerrard has a massive ego....expect big changes all round in the summer.

He has a strain from training and will be ready for fa cup apparently. Neil.

Kenny has said its a slight groin niggle. LFC Website.

AZ

Kenny says he has a niggle in his groin. Probably fell off his chair drinking last night

ESPN reported that Dalglish confirmed off camera to one of their reporters that Carroll was carrying a slight groin strain.

Sorry to crush the "carroll on loan" rumours.

Apparently, it was a "groin strain".
ANFIELDPETE

According to daveybootle, he was out on the lash until 0400 this morning?

Kenny said off air b4 ko that Carroll has a slight groin strain but not to serious

He had a slight groin strain plus we play fulham tues will be used then so suarez doesn't get over tired

In the post match interview kk revealed he had a niggle in his groin.

Ashley threw him on his private helicopter because he couldn't resist the 35m

Hi ed022, the ESPN reporters said that Kenny informed them just before the game that Carroll had a minor groin strain :) {Ed022's Note - Yes but I'm unsure mate, last I checked he had no injury at all, and to suddenly be dropped from the squad is very odd. Perhaps I am just acting like a conspiricist, but nevertheless, I still have a feeling he has no injury.}

Here is a copy & paste from earlier.
28 Apr 2012 16:44:31
Carrol out in town at 4am this morning. I'm not one to gossip...I've defended this player 100% but I've had enough.

DaveyBootle
Groin strain from falling over so much? {Ed022's Note - Yes I know, I'm not bothered about speculation though, I'm interested in the fact that Carroll was fine yesterday, and dropped from the squad today.}

He's got a little niggle in his groin after shagging a prozzy last night.

Why was Gerrard dropped aswell...precaution for what because according to Stevie it's no injury.

GuvTOB

Daveybootle talking through his pelican, Andy Carroll was getting a haircut for Wembley and that's gonna take a while.

Gerrard was left out so he would not agrivate an ankle injury and carol same reason/groin, nothing suspicious or no conspiracys....stevie wont be pushed too hard because we need him for fa cup final, carol too, to be fair to kenny leaving gerrard out seemed to have a good effect on him, he was more the stevie g were used to (yesterday), and certainly more dynamic than in previous weeks, The carol situation could be the same, and lets face facts i'm not 2 bothered he didnt play we play better when we dont have him in the line up, we are a team and relliance on one person (gerrard) is folly, stevie wont play 35-40 games a season anymore ,due to his all action style of play and his age. Do we really want to go back to the days when we only win if gerrard plays ? Or do we need to learn to win without him?

a few of the ed's have said they believe suarez will leave in the summer, after tonights match its plain to see the lad is world class, even if a team were to offer us £100 mill for him i dont believe there is a striker out there as good as him that would come to us in our recent state. surely selling him would be a step backwards for us, do any of the ed's have any new info on if suarez will still be sold on in the summer?

Thanks for your time.
john {Ed002's Note - Nothing changes because of today and you are living in a complete fantasy world if you expect that sort of money. There are four clubs with an interest in Suarez.}

Edd i would put a
£50 bet on that suarez is not going i posted this before but you never posted it ....be brave
adamlfc {Ed022's Note - I'm sure you did post this before, and good for you. None of us have said he is 'Certainly' going, but it's certain that it's possible he will leave. I'd personally say it's 50-50.}

Tbh I think ed002 is the most negative of the eds on here. But then what do u expect, she supports Chelsea! Personally there's every chance that Suarez will stay. I agree that no one is going to offer £100m for Suarez but regardless of how many teams are interested in him, I have it from a source that he won't be leaving!

Biggy Balls {Ed022's Note - Oh come on, you're just ridiculous. Do you wonder why Ed002 is so 'negative' when she has people like you coming on the site doing nothing but criticise her. Does she have to do this? No she doesn't, she does it off of her own back for fans. If you don't like what she says, don't read it. Pretty damn simple if you ask me.}

Please stop asking the eds on this site about Suarez leaving after we've won. It's just depressing. Particularly stop asking a Chelsea fan ffs. They know nothing more than anyone else they're just speculating. {Ed022's Note - Wow. The morons are really out tonight. If we know nothing then why do you use this site? I'm pretty sure if I track your IP address then I'd find a lot of questions you've asked to us Eds etc, so don't be an arse.}

I think he'll leave ....too many issues and he will continue to get a hard time from opposition fans, the FA, officials and all the press if he stays. Would you stay if Milan, Madrid came calling?? don't think so.
ALB {Ed002's Note - The interest is from Roma, Palermo, Juventus and PSG.}

Leave ed002 alone. Its her opinion and we should respect that.

I'm not being an arse. It's pointless asking speculative questions after a win which you know will get an answer you don't want.

And to answer your question I read the site for entertainment, I take it all with a huge pinch of salt. {Ed022's Note - For you to say we know nothing and not to ask a Chelsea fan (I assume you mean Ed002) to me is being a gigantic bloody arse.}

100 million? The owners would probably part with him for 35 million. The hat trick did nothing more than increase his worth. It was nice public relations work actually!

Edd, i didnt mean i expect a club to pay £100 mill for him, i meant that even if a club were to offer us that (obviously no one will) we still wouldnt be able to get a striker of his calibre into the club
john {Ed002's Note - We'll see.}

I hate to state the obvious but the original poster suggested that not EVEN if 100 millions were offered we could never attract a striker as good as Suarez. That's not a question, as a matter of fact, he is probably spot on. I think ed002 misread and reacted as if there is an attack there. Nowhere does it say that anyone expects to get a 100 million. Everyone just needs to calm down instead of being so eager to insult anyone's intelligence.

Macca we need your input on this one..

Evening eds
Who's sponsoring our kits from next season? And are the ones circling the net the offical kits for next season? {Ed022's Note - Who's sponsoring our kits next season? I presume you mean the Kit deal with Warrior rather than Addidas? And I'm not sure mate, but possibly.}

No Mate, all fakes on net at minute, new kit pics not released yet, though I've seen through my nephew who works in LFC Store, Belfast. Its obviously Red has white pin stripes and a collar, away kit is black with an arc (grey) from shoulder to shoulder, 3rd kit is purple (lilac). LFC stores not even showing preview until day of release due to fakes flooding market.

28 Apr 2012 20:03:43
Macca, you said we're interested in Muniain and Susaeta. In your opinion, do you thing we'll try to get both or only one of them?

I thought Macca said we were after Muniain and Soldado {Ed002's Note - All three were mentioned.}

From what I've seen and read (look at Guillem Ballague's blog) Muniain won't leave this summer and will become a great player and move on in 2013/14. Susaeta is yet another of Bilbao's young potential stars. He is a superb player with a lot of potential but again, I can't see him being let go of this summer, considering Martinez, Herrera and Llorente are all likely to leave this summer.

28 Apr 2012 19:41:25
The boyz doing the commentry on ESPN today

Said Kenny just has 20M for a transfer budget plus player sales in the summer, if so, no giant spending spree? {Ed022's Note - ESPN - the home of making up facts on the spot.}

It was gossip this morning, which I think Keegan was referring too. He also said we need two world class players to complement Stevie and Luis, so he was half right.

Papa G

Probably taken direct from that bastion of truth and wit, The Mirror this morning.

28 Apr 2012 19:40:12
hey ed's this is an kinda odd question , see how we have the badge of honour that's says 5 times champions , why doesn't the team have that on the kits for the premier league ? ac milan wear there badge of honour when they play in the serie a so i don't see a problem in liverpool wearing it , it would look great , especially with our new kits coming in , it would remind the other teams in the league who we really are !! {Ed022's Note - This is a question for the kit-designers if I'm honest mate. I personally wouldn't dislike the idea, but it's a point worth discussing.}

5 stars above the badge would be nice it would add somthing to the kit an show man u that we are still the best team in england overall... plus people will forget otherwise hopefully warrior address that being american show off i can kind of expect it lol

I'm not 100% sure but I recall hearing something like this a couple of years ago and if I remember rightly I'm sure it was something to do with the premier league not allowing it.

RedANT

Don't want it. Too much clutter.

Don't need it. Everyone knows who we are. Constant self-promotion is a sign of insecurity.

I think, not sure now, that the stars on the juve jersey represent league titles, one star for every 10 league titles if i remember correctly. although cant remember where i read that, so cant be 100% sure. Dont think it would make sense to have champs league stars on premier league jersey

Your right about the Juve thing. They would have three stars by now but I'm sure after having two titles stripped they never received the third star although I think they are only two away.

28 Apr 2012 19:25:37
Antoine Griezmann - do we have any interest in him, he is very good

{Ed002's Note - Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now.}

Funny that the q came on a day he scored...

28 Apr 2012 19:11:23
kuytis going back to Holland now prob is first cub

Some people need to go back to school and learn how to write.

You must mean "type" not "write"?

Why would Kuyt go back to Utrecht? I mean, if he was 34 or so and winding down his career then yeh, OK, but he's only 31.

You use mean Feyenoord.

Hi Ed as all the fans want big name star in our team i know it is difficult to attract big players without champions league. I want to know what are the chances of these olayers comming to lfc.
1. Gaston Ramirez
2. Tello
3. De Jong
4. A.Johnson
5. M.Sissoko
And did u expect managerial change at the end of season. thanx great site
{Ed002's Note - All of this is covered already and you can use the search function to help out.}

I can answer for you: Ramirez is possible, but by no means guaranteed, and I am not really sure where he would play anyway. Tello is not going to happen. De Jong may happen but will be huge disappointment. A. Johnson is a go if Man City get Hazard. Sissoko not going to happen.

Manager change? Not a chance. FSG like Kenny and blame everyone else.

Coop

Completely agree with the above post

The 1st reply looks likely however if there's going to be a manager change Emery from Valencia is most likely

Liverpool are currently pursuing a number of transfer targets for this summer despite Damien Comolli leaving the club. Bologna have confirmed that they have recieved a bid of £16.3m or 20 million euros from an unnamed English club believed to be Liverpool for Uruguayan playmaker Gaston Ramirez. Liverpool are also set to offer contracts to David ''Junior'' Hoilett and Craig Gordon both are set to become free agents this summer. Lassana Diarra is available for what could be a bargain £8m and Daglish will make a move if he be is able to offload Aquilani and Spearing.Gary Hooper is the final man Daglish wants for next season, Liverpool need a back up striker who knows how to score and after seeing how well Nikica Jelavic has adapted to English football Daglish believes Hooper can do the same. Hooper is currently valued around £10-12m. Possible Liverpool transfers OUTS-Aquilani, Kuyt, Maxi, Aurelio, Cole, Doni, Spearing, Jones INS-Ramirez,H oilett, Diarra, Gordon, Hooper {Ed002's Note - Anzhi made a very significant offer for Diarra and Roma could not realise their interest although the player was open to a move to Rome. This leaves Galatasaray as the very likely destination for him.}

I think you are most probably right mate, none of these big money signings,

28 Apr 2012 18:57:53
Don't get too excited about Marko Marin signing for Chelsea. He hasn't reached the heights people expected him to. He is a good player but he's not exactly world class. He doesn't really score that many goals either.

Good player though but wouldn't get all worked up about it. At £8m do you wonder why half the top clubs in Europe weren't in there?

Not world class yeah..but 8m euros is a steal I don't know why clubs didnt go for him but there many cases even recently clubs not going for quality players Suarez was one..even at 22m he was cheap and there are many teams in the world who would like to have him

Yeah that's right would rather have Charlie Adam any day hey

Considering his quality Chelsea got him for next to nothing. And with his passing quality players like ramires and Torres will benefit.

Hasn't reached the heights cos he's only 5'4" and it's hard

Tottenham got Rafael van der Vaart for £8m Rafael van der Vaart and inter got Sneijder for 15 million. So dont go on price

28 Apr 2012 18:49:40
In my opinion one of liverpools problems is that we have no wingers. Downing is poor and is not good enough. Bellamy is effective sometimes but is too inconsistent. Liverpool should target Adam Johnson from Man City. He is a brilliant attacking winger who will score goals, provide assists and win games. He needs first team football and cant be happy at City. What is the chance of signing him?

You don't want an inconsistent winger but want to sign Adam Johnson?

I agree mate, i belive adam johnson wanted to join liverpool and hoped we would move for him. when that didnt happen, for whatever reason, he accepted city s offer . maybe this time he ll get his wish! godbless 96 all reds steviep48

Adam either looks brilliant or non-existent. Why do you think Mancini doesn't play him? You think he doesn't know his own best team? Truth is, he may be available if Man city do what' s expected and buy Hazard. He will have brilliant moments too. And nonexistent ones.

How has the word brilliant been used to describe Adam Johnson, if he was that good why was he not getting picked by city when they were struggling ?
He is another skilful player without end product that frustrates the life out of managers and fans alike .

We should try muniain, he should be the player we go for the most. if not there is elia who isn't playing at juve, affellay or tello.

if we go for soldado or any high profile striker then we need to get rid of carroll as that will deffo bring tension in the team.

this would be my choice of players.
muniain - wing/am/wf 20
soldado - cf/st/ss/wf 26
g.ramierez - am/wing 23
rasmus elm - cm/am 22
de jong - st/wf 21

to leave
maxi free 31
aurelio end of contract 32
kuyt 31
adam 26
carroll 23
joe cole 30

aquilani should stay atleast for one season and play with lucas and suarez he it still 27 an is twice the player that adam, spearing and henderson are.

I know he wants to be in Italy but hes only been here a season and in Italy for two. dalglish should just have a chat with him and say listen we tired twice but you need to come and play, if its only until jan transfer window because we'd need the extra players if we are going to push for 4th and be in three other competitions. thats why i also think maxi might stay then go in jan

and I think that sterling & toni silva should be considered, but that's just my opinion.

Hi Eds and all,

Just a query really, Kaka of Real Madrid sits on the bench nearly all season with sporadic appearances. At 32 years old (I think) he is nearing the end, however when he does come on its an immediate impression.
So, does anyone know what will happen with him? Is he surplus? Would he take a salary drop for 1st team football? And do you think he is worth a punt?
I personally am a Kaka fan and think he has 2 - 3 years tops left but still a class act.
Comments and any info welcome and thanks in advance.
Reds 2 up, loving it.

Bazzaa {Ed002's Note - He is only just 30 and will have plenty of options if he leaves Madrid.}

Only 30! Thought he was slightly older, great player. Do you think or know if he is moving? {Ed002's Note - He was 30 a few days back. PSG seems the likely destination for Kaka if he moves. Inter perhaps providing an alternative if some trading can be done over player options and the like. A return to AC Milan is just perhaps an option as well.}

Yes him and stevie in combination would be unstoppable

His salary is astronomical. Only Barca, Chelsea, or City could match it.

After Istanbul the salary may not be as big an issue as feared, once he reached a level of fitness he would take the epl
by storm and I would love to see him in our shirt.

Reading in the press today we almost signed Honda in January and we are going to renew our interest when the summer transfer window opens.
Also do we have any interest in Arda Turan, could he be our answer to Mata/Marin all similar in stature?
Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Arda Turan only moved last summer and will probably not move again this year.}

Our answer to Marin? Think you're getting a bit carried away there mate, he hasn't even played a game for Chelsea yet..

28 Apr 2012 18:30:45
Eds, what do u make of Victor Moses and Mohamed Diame of Wigan. I believe Diame is also out of contract this summer as well. Could be a decent option as backup for Lucas?

Hassan {Ed002's Note - Diame is out of contract but doubt he would want to simply be a back up for anyone. Additionally he will be off the the African Cup of Nations in January so I am not convinced a club like Liverpool would be chasing after him. I think Moses would be a good option if he were available but I am very aware that he wants to be on the teamsheet every week. Could be interest from West Ham id they get promoted.}

African Cup of Nations?! I mean I know you recycle your answers but ACON was months ago! Singred

I thought the Africa Cup of nations was held this January {Ed002's Note - Yes it was and will be again next January.}

Ed I agree that diame is doubtful but the Africa cup of nations happens every two years so next year he will not be going for that, good work {Ed002's Note - Whatever you want, sure.}

I hold my hand up! credit where credit's due to ed - South Africa will host 2013 ACON because FIFA don't want the next tournament to clash with the World Cup 2014, hence they put it forward. Singred

Ed are you then suggesting that Chelsea shouldn't have bought Drogba because he goes to the ACON every 2 years? Strange answer {Ed002's Note - Why the obsession with Chelsea and comparisons? Drogba was not bought in a year when he went off the the Africa Cup of Nations four months in to his first season.}

28 Apr 2012 18:17:06
Some people have been saying on here that Liverpool should have gone in for Marko Marin.The truth of the matter is that Chelsea can offer champions league football and will pay higher wages than us.Also,a lot of continental players only want to play for London teams.The way some have been talking on here,it was a forgone conclusion that he would have signed for us if we had been in for him,and thats not the case at all.Players from Europe dont look at it through our supporters eyes.I like him as a player and that is the type of player we should be looking at,and im sure the club is working through things behind the scenes,but we have to be realistic.

They might not be able to...

I agree that we have no right to get a player just because we're Liverpool...but Chelsea can't guarantee Champions League football next year either. They're the outside bet for a top 4 place...and Munich will be be too good for them.

-Shane.

28 Apr 2012 18:14:28
question for ed02 what do you think of marin? never seen him play so cant if im disappointed or not that we didn't attempt to sign hgim (or maybe we did) a lot gets made of chelseas ageing squad but they have very quietly went about recruiting some decent youngsters in lukaku, piazon, de bruyne and now marin. i believe your a chelsea fan an just wondering what your thoughts are on them

cheers :) {Ed002's Note - Marin will be a decent addition to the squad I would think. Lukaku will go out on loan next season, as will De Bruyne in all probability. Piazon may well get a chance with the first team. Certainly over the summer there will be several more additions and some notable departures.}

Marin is so overrated outside of Germany and inconsistent. Piazon is good though, no surprise that Chelsea are doing well in the youth FA Cup.

28 Apr 2012 17:51:02
Pedro (Pedro Rodriguez Ledesma) is believed to be a less realistic signing to that of Keita and Tello.

Yes please.

Whatever!

eds, just heard that bologna had received a bid for gaston ramirez from an english club, most people assume it's us, do you know anything about it?
YNWA {Ed002's Note - I know enough to say it is a month old rumour done to death at the time. Try the archive for around March 30.}

28 Apr 2012 17:38:09
Good day Ed's , according to the daily mail porto player hulk's agent Theodoro Fonseca said he has been in talks with four premier league clubs and he named tottenham as one of them , the whole report states chelsea are closing in on him with man city , tottenham and liverpool also in the hunt , anyways i wanted to ask if use know anything about us (liverpool) being in talks with his agent as he states he's been in talks with four clubs in the last week ?

thanks {Ed002's Note - I really don't think Liverpool are chasing Hulk.}

Hopefully not. The guy is incredibly overrated

We're not interested in Hulk but serious intent on signing some of the other avengers with Thor currently top of the list.

Are you high mate there's no chance of us getting Hulk

28 Apr 2012 17:30:25
Hi eds please tell me we have more than 20 mil 2 spend on transfers surley taht cant be right?? King kenny {Ed002's Note - The amount available will likely be impacted by sales to a certain extent. I would not get too wrapped up with specific amounts being reported - such as the much mooted £20M by the press.}

28 Apr 2012 17:28:02
Why oh why do we pay 20 million for average s**t like stewart downing and chelsea pay a mear 8 million for world class talent like Marko Marin?? It seems to me that the people in charge of our transfers don't know what the hell they're doing.....this is really frustrating

Downing is a good player better than Marin anyway

I so agree with I have just posted something similar and then had a one celled t**t gobbing off some people don't care that we r slowly becoming a average side because of the crap that has been bought

Really, all this slagin off of Downing, Carroll, Henderson and the like its like floggin a dead horse, the seasons nearly over and we're going to win the FA cup, cheer up.

Really, all this slagin off of Downing, Carroll, Henderson and the like its like floggin a dead horse, the seasons nearly over and we're going to win the FA cup, cheer up.

I agree with your point mate but trust me, Marin is far from world class.

Yeah I no Liverpool can beat anyone on there're day but the holy grail will not be won like this with this shower of s**te

Which is why they were sacked, calm down guys

You have a low bar for "world class talent"

LOL! @ world class talent. Marko Marin is light years away from world class. He can't even get into the average Bremen team regularly enough.
World class my ass.

How many world class players go for £8million? EVER!

£20 million on average players is exactly why Camolli left.

Papiss Cisse 9m
Cabaye 4m
Hoilett 0m (Agent fees)
Van Der Vaart 9m

etc

But Marin is crap

If the likes of Cisse and Hoillet are world class..what are Messi and Ronaldo?

Tekneek

We must do 3 transfers If we want Champion League

1.Rasmus Elm
2.Moussa Sissoko
3.Fernando Llorente

But we have to sell a number of players

1.Adam
2.Aquilani
3.Cole
4.Kuyt
5.Bellamy
6.Aurelio

Struggling to grasp whether you have actually watched liverpool if you are suggesting selling bellamy? One of our standout player

Good luck selling Aurelio ...
Adam and Bellamy will be Liverpool players next season too.
Aquiliani and Cole will leave if there are offers.
Kuyt is the only one questionmark on your list.

I'd go for a more mobile striker myself one with dribbling speed. (soldado would cost £10m less also) but i'd take llorente only if we sell carroll. would love both rasmus elm and moussa sissoko.

1.Rasmus Elm 24yr for Adam 26 about the same
2.Moussa Sissoko 22yr for Spearing 23 less wages than sissoko would be one
3.Gaston Ramirez 21yr for no one
4.Roberto Soldado 26yr for Carroll 23 less wages than soldado would be one
5.Luuk De Jong 21yr for kuyt 31 and high wages

Promote 3
6.Stering 17yr for Maxi 31 higher wages than sterling
7.Toni Silva 19yr for Cole 31 and high wages
8.Suso 19yr for Aquilani 27 and high wages

(Personally I wish that Aquilani stayed at least for the next season. Aquilani, Lucas, Sissoko, Gerrard leading the midfield. Soldado, Suarez, De Jong and Bellars bullyng defenders. with our defense as tight as it is we would be challenging for number 1 spot let alone 4th.)

Team 2012/2013
reina
johnson, sktrel, agger, enrique
sissoko* lucas
gerrard(am)
G.ramirez*(w/am) suarez(wf/ss)
soldado(st)*

Bench: jones, coates, kelly, elm*, suso, sterling, de jong*

others squad players: downing, henderson, shelvey, bellamy, carra, toni silva, flanagan, gulacsi

not forgetting reserves: robinson, McLaughlin, mendy, sama, wisdom, adorjan, teixiera, ngoo

that's a squad of 21 over the age 21 and 5 under the age of 21

and 8 reserves who should go out on loan

That's how we should do it next season if we really want to introduce our youngsters into the team, we can't have a team full of late 20's to early 30's and just have one 18-19-20 old player. we need to make the transition from reserves to first team more effective because right now we have 5-6 players in the reserves who can do the same job some of the senior players are doing.

Why sell bellamy or adam. They still have a part to play for liverpool

28 Apr 2012 17:05:20
ed, i will ask this before kick off in case i'm accused of having motd fever,
how long has paul lambert left on his contract with norwich..

red jay {Ed002's Note - He has a rolling one year deal. I would not be at all surprised if he were to be considered for the role of next permanent Liverpool manager when it becomes available.}

28 Apr 2012 16:12:02
Victor Moses having another solid game. We should really consider signing him. He is pacy, strong and can finish. Not my future starting 11, but would be a strong sub with impact, similar to a young Bellamy.

Coop

28 Apr 2012 16:11:19
Jarvis Fletcher and Doyle on fire today, i'd rather have them as well as Victor Moses as opposed to all these fancy dans like Hazard, Moura, Ramirez and Muniain so we can make a proper push for champions league football

I'm a wolves fan and if you want to push for the CL don't sign the players that got us relegated. Fletcher is awesome but Doyle doesn't score enough and Jarvis has a poor final ball.

Even one of munian,hazard,moura lucas would make more difference through out the season than these players..we cannot make a top 4 push with these players..
among the relegation threatened teams only hoilett/moses/mccarthy would be ok

Utter rubbish

Wher is Sterling for today's game

Remember the good old days when you could shoulder charge the goalkeeper as well Grandad?

You and your fancy dan ways Grandad. Next you'll be telling us to go back to the jumpers for goalpost days and newspapers for shinguards. You crazy old 20th century man.

Hazard and ramirezz and the rest would be quality signings with flair and creativity. Hopefully clinical. Shorley this is what we need. Not some average players you mentioned to warm the bench

28 Apr 2012 16:02:42
Eds, What do you think about Roberto Martinez as Liverpool coach IF Kenny gets sacked/moves upstairs?

RedBaron {Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts on it - perhaps you have MOTD fever and need to rest a while?}

What about suarez as a out and out goal scorer

28 Apr 2012 15:41:54
hi eds a few questions for you. Are lfc one of the four premier legue clubs interested in hulk? Are lfc interested in afellay? Is it true chelsea have a deal in place for marin? And have lfc made a £16m bid for gaston ramirez? {Ed002's Note - I suspect the four clubs being referred to are the two Manchester clubs, Spurs and Chelsea. Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think it would be taking a chance before he could really prove his fitness - although he may get two or three games before the end of the season so there will be a chance to take a look. However, I think it likely that he will be available in the summer- and Italy looks like one option if he is. Chelsea have agreed the transfer of Marko Marin. The story about Ramirez is being reccycle from teh end of March. As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent.}

28 Apr 2012 15:29:54
come on liverpool fans now that chelsea have bought marin for there right side that means they wont be going for lavazzi who will now sign for city and leave adam johnson surples to requirments at city for us to buy without a bidding war from chelski!
simples!!!
deano mcc {Ed002's Note - Marin would not have been bought for the "right side".}

You expect him to play left wing then Ed? With Mata attacking centre mid more often than not?

Kieran. {Ed002's Note - He will have been bought as a squad palyer and will be used as the manager sees fit in the centre or on the left. He has not been bought as a right winger.}

Ed's/Macca,
Do you think there could be anything in the owner going to watch the reserve game afew weeks ago, Borrell maybe? Or he just fancyed a reserve game given he doesnt watch all 1st games. Just a thought.
Shottski. {Ed002's Note - No. Don't read anything in to it.}

I stand corrected so he must be benayouns replacment??? so do you think chelsea will go lavazzi with man city?i only ask cause adam johnsons availabilty surely will alert liverpool who ever the manager is next year.
deano mcc {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Levezzi from several clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, PSG and particularly AC Milan. I think it would take a very high offer - more than 30M euros, some trading or a third-party ownership deal bid to get Napoli to sell the player who is unwilling to extend his existing contract which runs to 2015, although does remain happy at the club.}

From what I've heard from a mate in Man City reserves, Johnson and Mancini aren't getting on at all. This is to do with Johnson's attitude and laziness at training, with him turning up last every session and doing a half arsed job when he gets there so in my opinion, he wouldn't be a great signing.

28 Apr 2012 15:27:22
Dont worry Marin to Chelsea we will sign more s**t overrated donkeys perhaps we should go to glue factory to find a couple of old cart horses yeah that's the way were are no
More that middle table team ,and when we're are given money we spend it on s**t laughing stock of prem .

And there I was thinking that a supporter was supposed to SUPPORT. How daft do I feel now !!

Yeah it's deluded so-called fans like you who make us a "laughing stock" as you put it. Chelsea sign a player and you throw a hissy little tantrum because he didn't come to Liverpool. Grow up you mug.

Why support us then? Jog on, you're surplus to requirements.

Proof is in table I feel

Ahhh Liverpool fans, best in the world.

Not part of this convo... But hey who Eva wrote the jog on line... Wake up the lad dnt support u he supports lfc n he has his own right of opinion

Thank you nice to c someone with some common sense and not two cells

Marko Marin, 1 goal and 5 assists this year in bundesliga. Setting the world alite.

Bit like caroll and Adam downing henderson need I go on 100 million down drain we must have money to burn have a good look at the crap we have bought over the years that y we r laughing stock of prem

28 Apr 2012 15:26:10
Another for jelavic,whats that? 7 in 8? But "were happy with Strike options we have!"
And Marin looks set for Arsenal! JOY {Ed002's Note - You mean Chelsea.}

BOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

28 Apr 2012 15:25:31
Liverpool scouts will be attending Bibao's game with Zaragoza this weekend....

I assume by Macca's info that it is to watch Munain and Susaeta... {Ed002's Note - Athletic Bilbao's Markel Susaeta is most likely being concentrated on.}

Ed is muniain not also being watched? {Ed002's Note - I appreciate what Macca has said about Muniain but I am told that Liverpool are keen on Susaeta. No doubt they will keep an eye on everyone who is playing.}

Are you suggesting ed that we have really intrest in Susaeta?

Thanks
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - Yes, there is interest in Susaeta. It is interest in Muniain that I am by no means convinced about - although obviously I understand and accept that Macca says there is.}

We are looking at both players closely..

Fingers crossed..

Cheers

Macca

Watching Muniain closely? I don't understand what for, if our scouts can't already see he's the real deal they must be blind. I think we have absolutely no chance of getting him even if we decide to go for him. I'd rather the club focus on realistic targets.

Not doubting you Macca, just being being realistic.

Surely either of those kids would want to work under a spanish manager rather than under kenny?When we had rafa we were able to get these kinds of players,i'm not so sure now...
galls

28 Apr 2012 15:22:36
Chelsea sign Marko Marin for 7 million. Why didn't we go after him? I know he's had fitness issues but he is pacy, creative winger. Anyway, seems like Bundesliga players sell on the cheap so we should go after Kagawa and Podolski

Coop {Ed002's Note - Podolski will be moving to Arsenal.}

28 Apr 2012 15:08:46
Let's buy more British players with potential!! Gettin boring now,Chelsea sign another class player an wer linked with championship sides.it shows how many steps backwards we have gone in 2/3 years.and British players are way behind the hole of Europe for ability and pass an move it's all about disciplin and work ethic here,are scouts are shockin...

Class player?! I'm guessing you haven't seen much of Marin the last two years. Not looking like fulfilling his undoubted potential. I'm pleased they've signed him if it means less chance of them getting Hazard, Willian or Muniain.

Overrated and will not fit in PL.

28 Apr 2012 15:05:02
Just remembered seeing something regarding Rasmus Elm of AZ the other day, he really is a decent midfielder, any truth in the rumour ed?

Also, just seen that Chelsea are claiming they have a deal in place for Marin, have you heard anything of this? Sky Sports are reporting it.

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - Juventus, Spurs, Manchester United and Liverpool have shown interest in Rasmus Elm. And agreement has been reached for Marko Marin to join Chelsea.}

28 Apr 2012 14:55:49
bravo liverpool we let another good player join our rivals , sadly the club have no brain to sign good players , people should also lay off the Ed's its not like they don't want any big players in its just our club is pathetic and don't want to spend big wages and big money and what more do you want them to say about liverpool , ye we are going to sign cavani , hazard , higuain , mata , etc ? come on
they are just saying whats realistic !!

LFC cannot sign every decent player that becomes available !
Sadly we don't seem to be getting closebut what do we know? All sorts of things could be going on behind the scenes.Maybe a new DoF has a few players lined up ready to come straight in.

How do you figure we LET them sign him, guess it doesn't have anything to do with the clubs or even the players preference of which club he wants to go to. we dont have a god given right to every player that comes on the market plus how do you know we didn't make enquiries about him and were told he wanted to go to chelsea? you don't and neither do I, fact is liverpool need to breed more success in the league and champs league before we can consistently start to attract top players, we might get the odd one in but we are certainly not just LETTING players go off to other clubs

In a word, LONDON

To the original poster,
Why don't you send your extensive CV to John Henry and see if he can squeeze you in as new manger or at worst as chief scout?

The game as a whole is sadly lacking you.

28 Apr 2012 14:55:27
Marin to chelsea for £8million?? Y are we so slow when it comes to getting new players in???

A hint by Chelsea that there are very good player available on cheap, outside England. Hope, we'd do the same. YNWA

Because these days,liverpool fc dont buy good players...

There is every chance that we have already moved and/or secured a player(s) for next season. Just because we don't go running to the press to share our business doesn't mean we aren't doing anything. Plus we just sacked our Director of Football who hasn't been replaced yet. For every player we "miss" there's always another we can find.

28 Apr 2012 14:49:00
Hi ed's i know you have said that you think Johnson will be available in the summer but why would we need someone like Isla to replace Glen i THINK kelly is good enough and Flanno is quite young but he has potential.
Cheers YNWA
Greg. {Ed002's Note - I agree with you.}

I agree too

I disagree. Flanno is a hard tackling rb but nowhere near the technique, pace or skill to be a threat going forward and although Kelly is an excellent defender and powerful in attack, he rarely picks a precise cross and is very poor when a chance comes his way. Would love to see him as a cb.
Jason

There is a little problem in that Kelly is injury prone and Flanno would be called into action a lot more

I think that Kelly is good enough but he just seems to be injured a lot. If we can manage his fitness then I think we have plenty between him and Flanno to have a good right sided defence. SJB

All been said really, Kelly is good enough but cannot play all the games and Flanno is not ready yet. If Glenn goes we will need a replacement.

Flanno has decent potential. But I think 17 yr old Ryan Mclaughlin has more. Neither ready to be permanent yet which is a risk with kelly's injury record. Comfortable with Kelly otherwise.

Ryan Mclaughlin will be the future RB with Kelly moving into CB.

BigD

The trouble with kelly is he gets injured lots and flanno aint ready yet ...................... andy.

28 Apr 2012 14:48:06
Well that's another top player gone, oh well we've got Kenny which means we'll buy Darren Bent £30m. Why or why can't we buy players on the cheap?

Dave

Spoke to a german lad on me jollies i asked him about marin i said i believe hes the german messi he laughed his frankfrurt off!he said hes ok no messi,but then again who is!
deano mcc

No more drama.....

Bent ha ha ha ,always liked a good laugh.

28 Apr 2012 14:36:35
Marin has joined Chelsea

What a signing for them, wish we had signed him.

BigD

Good,but not outstanding.

Chelsea now have De Bruyne and Marin as young players in the midfield. Two good pick-ups I think as I rate both pretty highly, but guess time will tell.

Agreed that I would have liked to have seen Marin play for LFC tho, especially for what appears to be a pretty choice price.

RDL

28 Apr 2012 14:28:25
Ed's, we've seen Chelsea sign Marin today and we've heard Arsenal have been in talks with Lukas Podolski for a while now. I know the transfers are not able to go through until July but do you know if Liverpool are in dicussions with any clubs regarding signings already? I think we will need to move quickly for players this summer as with the Euros and the Olympics, player prices will highly inflate.
I also think this summer could be our biggest transfer window yet due to the fact that if we do not sign the right players, players who are going to be driving us forward, we could get left further behind again. Here's hoping for an excellent summer and season. Excited much?

Cheers Ed's,
Jonny. {Ed002's Note - We have explained where we know that Liverpool have a confirmed interest in players but I don't know that any have gone as far as offers being made and accepted - I would think not. It is not uncommon for clubs to agree a transfer outside the transfer window (Marin, Podolski, Olic, Ninis are all agreed as examples) but some clubs do not want the disruption whilst there are still games to be played. Chelsea are cash buyers and Bremen needed cash - hence the speed of the deal. Roma had made an offer but it was not hard up front cash and Spurs had been in contact, hence the sudden surge of activity I guess.}

Hi ed002. I see u said about olic and ninis. Just out of interest who are they heading too? Oh and is 8million a realistic figure in the Marin deal? Thanks for your time.
Jason {Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg, Parma and in euros, around that.}

Thanks ed002! Wow that seems incredible value for u guys. Just wondering how come a player touted as the german messi a year ago could be bought so cheap? Did he have little time left on his contract or perhaps a poor season?
Jason {Ed002's Note - It is mainly down to some folks over valuing players but he was down to a year on his contract, Chelsea will pay in a lump sum and Bremen need to money.}

Fair play, thanks ed. Yeah it does seem so many clubs overvalue average players. I Thought it was a curse that seems to follow the likes of chelsea, city and for some reason liverpool. But nice work to guys. Good week for chelsea! Thanks ed.
Jason

28 Apr 2012 14:26:41
Hi eds reguared the marin signing forgive if I'm wrong is that allowed to sign a player outside the window if not how come most teams don't do it ie signing a player during the season {Ed002's Note - They cannot process the transfer until the window opens in Germany on July 1 (from memory). However, they can agree to the transfer happening at any time - but the paperwork cannot be processed and the transfer cannot be completed until the summer.}

Does that mean if someone offers more cash bremen can reject chelseas offer? {Ed002's Note - They have agreed the deal, but there will be get out clauses but accepting a higher offer will not be one of them.}

28 Apr 2012 14:26:04
ive just heard that kenny and steve clarke were at the montpellier and toulouse game last night , doesnt giroud play for one of them {Ed002's Note - Montpellier.}

Giroud will be way to expensive

28 Apr 2012 14:08:44
Liverpool miss out on another brilliant player.Chelsea Football Club have today (Saturday) agreed to sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen.
Both clubs have agreed a fee and the 23-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms.
Marin, a German international, will join Chelsea in the summer.

I don't think they have missed out because lfc never went for him

How did this slip through?

the post i mean, it's not a rumour and it's not about liverpool...

Marin has NO end product we didnt miss out on anything

LFC have had a prolonged interest in Marin but he preferred to go to London rather than Liverpool. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool made no bid for Marin.}

28 Apr 2012 14:02:33
Marin to Chelsea only £8 million !

28 Apr 2012 14:02:09
Chelsea hav got marko Marin just seen on ssn... Y didn't we try gt him

Marin to Chelsea only £8 million !

Afternoon ed fellow reds . Marko marin has signed for Chelsea cheers psv

chelsea just bought marko marin thats 1 less rumour for yous to have to deal with eds

1 goal and 5 assists in 21 games. such a world beater

Obviously wants to play in the CL next year (if Chelsea make it).
This will be a major obstacle for LFC to overcome when 'wooing' potential players.
But then that's the reality is it not!.

Strange to be making big signings with a temporary manager in charge. I wonder if this strengthens the chances of Di Matteo staying on. Or maybe just too good a chance to miss. {Ed002's Note - It makes no difference at all who the manager is. The club has targets which a number of people are consulted about - sometimes the manager will have a strong feeling (Mourinho for example) and sometimes they really could not care less (Ancelotti for example). There are advisors who are very involved in the transfer process who would certainly be involved.}

28 Apr 2012 14:00:47
Hi Eds,

Have Chelsea signed Marko Marin?

Thanks,
AK. {Ed002's Note - Yes they have.}

28 Apr 2012 14:00:05
Chelsea have now signed Marin...

GuvTOB

28 Apr 2012 13:56:42
Chelsea and Werder Bremen confim that Marko Marin will move to Stamford Bridgein the summer

Hopefully that'll get rid of the speculation linking us with him. Real shame, Marin is a quality player.

Not that quality, though. Seen him several times and he is a bit like hit and a miss. He is good player, though for sure. Has got ability to become very good. YNWA trustme

28 Apr 2012 13:56:08
Just to inform all, Chelsea have agreed to sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen for a fee around £8mill. Good deal for Chelsea

Far better player than downing, and younger and costs half the price. :(

28 Apr 2012 13:52:39
Reported Liverpool target Marko Marin has signed for Chelsea....

8m Euros..

If we wanted him it probz would of been £20m lol

28 Apr 2012 13:48:24
hey Eds whats this rumour doing the roinds that marin is about to join chelsea for 8 million ? any truth in it ? {Ed002's Note - Yes, it has been agreed for him to move in the summer.}

Chelsea have got one hell of a bargain. I had heard that Arsenal were originally his first choice but obviously Roman's pay structure is higher. {Ed002's Note - Previously he has hinted that Italy was his first choice.}

28 Apr 2012 13:38:55
Could we use aqua in a deal for jovetic? He's still young and has plenty of ability also the aquaman could go back to Italy? {Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen.}

Ed how come? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have no interest in Jovetic. Should be reason enough.}

Id love him at Liverpool he is a real talent but hampered with injures..

BigD

28 Apr 2012 13:31:15
Marin off to Chelsea

28 Apr 2012 13:24:58
Hey eds how danny wilson doing at loan on blackpool. {Ed002's Note - I will ask Ed003 to see if he can give an opinion when he is about later.}.

He's not been in the 16 man squad for the last 3 games at least...

Leyland Wool

Is he injured or due to his bad peeformances. Ed 003 when will you reply. {Ed002's Note - He will reply when he is around, I have left a message but he will likely be busy with other things.}

28 Apr 2012 13:17:50
Heard that Liverpool were looking at celtic's 18 year old wing sensation, Paul George, until he broke his leg in april after just breaking into the first team. Probably won't happen this summer as a result, but could be one for January or next summer

Cheers, green red

28 Apr 2012 13:16:41
Liverpool have lodged a £16m bid for Bologna's 21-year-old midfielder Gaston Ramirez.

Source: Metro {Ed002's Note - This story is a month old.}

But is it true ed? {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent.}

Eds do you think Carragher will retire at the end of the season or if he doesn't do you see him being involved much with the first team next season. Surely now is the time to play Wisdom and Coates more isn't it? {Ed002's Note - I suspect he will be with the first team another season.}

Thats a shame i think he should go now he is a liablilty.

He's back up to the first team. Calling him a liability? Whats with Liverpool fans these days they can't see the wood for the trees. Furthermore hes only started a handful of games and when he has he's played alright. Its not carraghers fault in the semi final him and agger hesitated to clear the ball. More importantly we won so it doesnt matter.

I cant belive he isnt one of the first ones to be kicked to the kerb next season. Its completely ridiculous to keep paying such a massive weekly wage for someone who is clearly not first choice, who will be 35 next season and who is way, way past anything like his best. For a club that supposedly wants to lower its wage bill, he clearly should be one of the first kicked to the kerb at seasons end.

Steve

I hope he will retire this summer. He has lost his speed (if he ever had any :)) and is not close to being good enough for LFC now.
Carra is a legend and its better for him and LFC that he retire while he is ahaed. One more terrible season will not look good on his CV.

Why would Carra retiring mean more games for Coates? He is ahead of him in the pecking order anyway, at least he would be next season. Wisdom is not good enough, not nearly, Petersen is closer to first team action and he is far away

Question regarding Doumbia. Has the situation changed?

If it has not, don't bother posting this.

TSP {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry from Newcastle in January about Doumbia and other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player as there is no pressure to sell. Roma are interested in the player but have yet to make any financial proposal.}

Ed. 002 Do you think René Grard's Philosophy would suit the Liverpool style of play and maybe he'd have an interest in our History :-)

Cork Red Boi {Ed002's Note - Philosophy is irrelevant, as is Liverpool's history. But take a look at the earlier posts for a note about Grirard.}

Jordan Rhodes - 35 goals in 32! yes he wouldn't match that in the prem but if he got a 1/3 of what he did surely that's a good return compared to what we have had this season. and don't forget his 22
Luuk de jong- he has 28 goals to his name
Bas Dost -he has 28 goals to his name
Oscar Cardozo - has bagged more than 20 in each of his last three seasons and, while there are often fears over the strength of Portuguese football, Man City and Man United looked very ordinary against Benfica and Sporting Lisbon this season. though his 28 still could do a great hob for 3 or 4 years

I know its a tough one Ed002,also you are the one who don't really like to speculate... But who do yo think is a probable'' candidate for the Manager...'
Also please share the Link to Follow you on Facebook...

Thanks
Ed002 and yes other Eds and Macca too.. {Ed002's Note - I don't use Facebook or anything similar I am afraid. I don't think it is possible to say who will be the "probable" manager but if Dalglish does leave I would suspect that a number of people will be invited to be interviewed for the job rather than one chosen. The likes of Lippi and Van Gaal may well be deemed too old for the job and I would not be surprised to see Deschamps approached again. If I was to take the proverbial punt on an outsider who has not been mentioned, I could easily be tempted to say Rene Girard if the FFF don't persuade him to take the National side on. At some point, although probably not this year, you may well see Dan Petrescu come in to contention for an EPL job - which he will welcome. So I cannot say what will probably happen but I can toss the name of an outsider, Girard, in to the ring.}

Ed what about laurent blanc? {Ed002's Note - Laurent Blanc will probably leave the National side after the Euros (when his contract expires) unless the team perform well. Aside from a recent win over Germany in a friendly their performances since the World Cup have been underwhelming. Blanc was earmarked a while back as the eventual successor to Sir Alex Ferguson and is the preferred solution for one of the most influential decision makers in that process.}

Ed 002, does this mean Blanc will leave after the Euros? And do you see Frank de Boer being in with a shout?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Blanc's contract will run out after the Euros and it will only be renewed if the team perform particularly well. It is no real secret that the FFF want Girard back in the National game. There may be a chance that Liverpool would want to interview Frank de Boer if Dalglish leaves or moves aside, but I am not so sure that he will be open to offers this year.}

I heard the DoF and manager would be the current Ajax pairing? That would be good as they already have a good relationship and maybe tempt Eriksen to join? That would be awesome. I also heard the Head of Youth Development from Ajax would join and there youth is so successful :O

According to a report this morning we have made a £16 million bid for Gaston Ramirez. Is he any good. {Ed002's Note - It is a month old story being recycled. Try the search function.}

Liverpool scouts keeping a close eye on Aston Villa's GARY GARDNER - Craig's younger and much better brother. This boy is the real deal - 6'2", box to box, with an eye for goal and idol is Steven Gerrard. Apparently he was training with the rest of the kids when Houllier took over at Villa and was immediately moved to train with the first-team squad so good was he. One to keep an eye on most definitely.

PieInTheSkyMan

After watching him numerous times after the hype I read,I believe he is incredibly average

You are pie in the sky mate

He would be a good signing. He fits the transfer policy as well

It's not hard to have an eye for goal, it's the big rectangular shape at each end of the pitch. We keep hitting the frame of it.

Hey are liverpool still lookin at clyne from c.palace also what about the youngster jonathan williams I saw him play once and he controlled the game like SG, also torino's cb ogbonna is pretty gd (a lot better than coates). Also I no its a long shot but lfc were ipparently interested in villa before he broke his leg/foot is there still interest {Ed002's Note - Newcastle have certainly enquired about Clyne but interest from Manchester United will see a move to Old Trafford the likely conclusion. I don't know anything of Williams, I suspect Ogbonna is from some kiddies game and I doubt Liverpool will be looking to a player with a broken leg this summer.}

How do you know he's better than Coates. I think come next season as he gets more games and a better grasp of the English language (very important ESP for a CB) you be praising him

Ed hw about these guy' to join us
1.Ramirez(Bologna)
2.Suarez(anderlect)
3.Kalou(chelsea)
4.Ninis(panathenaikos)
5.Hernanes(lazio)
Plz... give ur view on every one
Keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - Possibly; Possibly; Unlikely; No chance; I think that there could be interest in the player at the right price but Lazio may have a figure above £20M in mind which is why Juventus have been put off.}

Galatasaray are lining up a summer bid for long-term Liverpool target Keisuke Honda, reports talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old Japanese international playmaker is expected to leave CSKA Moscow at the end of the season, with a host of top European clubs weighing up bids for his signature.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish tried to bring Honda to Anfield during the January transfer window, but faced competition from Serie A side Lazio.

However, after talks broke down with the Italian outfit, Liverpool were back in pole position to negotiate a deal, but failed to get the transfer completed before the window slammed shut.

The Premier League side are expected to renew their interest in the £9million rated midfielder in June, but according to reports in Turkey, Galatasaray are hoping to hijack the move.

Honda is well known for his set-piece prowess, and will add some much needed creativity and firepower to the Liverpool midfield, providing the club wins the race to land him.

Timmo

He's solid. Bring in that kid

We failed to complete his signing before window slammed shut?would that be because we were not trying to sign him in the first place,everytime another club shows interest or signs another player get this bs about how we failed to sign him,i guess lfc must be hoping to sign 300 players come june

Liverpool rumoured to be linked with Carlos Vela when his loan spell at Real Sociedad expries. The Mexican forward has been on fine form, firing 7 goals in his last 9 games. On top of tat he has scored two bicycle kicks since signing on loan for Sociedad. Potentially cut price signing because of his torrid time at Arsenal, I think he could be a potential star at Liverpool, any thoughts Ed's?

Brad x

Underrated

Never understood why he didnt really get game time,Every time he did play he played really well.Would defo snap him up.

Given the amount of crosses placed behind our stikers, the bicycle kick may well be useful.../

TWO bicycle kicks? Wow!! We should definitely buy him. How did Wenger miss that about him?

My nan still does high kicks at 87. How much should we bid for her? She loves Kenny.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Liverpool have lodged a £16m bid for Gaton Ramirez of Bologna. We'll alledgedly have to fight off competition from Chelsea, Napoli, LOSC Lille, AC Milan and Manchester United. If this bid falls through there's a reported back-up plan to sign Eziquel Lavezzi from Napoli, should Ramirez end up going the Italian club.

Also LOSC Lille say that they cannot afford Joe Cole, so he will make a return to the club, if only a short lived return meaning we sell him, possibly to West Ham should they be promoted. This also leads me to think that the only way Lille will be able to lodge a bid for Gaston Ramirez is if they off load Eden Hazard to a big money club in the summer.

As for the manager position, Pep Guardola will not be taking up the position of either Manger or the Director of Football at Anfield as he is taking a years break from the game unless Chelsea can persuade him to join them by flashing the cash around. Personally I think this is foolish because of the progress that Roberto Di Matteo has made at Chelsea in his short spell in charge.

A dream return for Fernando Torres is looking more and more less likely as he is just begining to find his form at the London club, but Liverpool could turn to another top spanish striker in search of the goals. Roberto Soldado is rumoured to be being watched by Liverpool scouts and a pottential move could be made in the summer.

Ed's, any inputt to any of these rumours would be highly appreiciated.

Brad x {Ed002's Note - Lille have no interest in Gaston Ramirez and the "bid" story is the same one that circulated a month ago. As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30, when the rumour started circulating, there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent.

There is interest in Joe Cole from PSG and a deal may be possible.

Guardiola will not be moving to Liverpool in the summer.}

Morning ed's, do you know of any interest in hulk? The papers are reporting we are one of four premier league clubs interested. Also do you think we will get gaston Ramirez? Thanks
Ap {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Hulk. There is certainly a chance of Gaston Ramirez but there is plenty of interest from elsewhere.}

hi ed

Could you please tell me how the media are able to know that we have only 20 million to spend on new players in the summer our are they just guessing 20m will not get much maybe a top skriker.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer on behalf of others, sorry.}

And you believed what you were reading?....

I'm guessing the 20m comes from the Moreiles deal plus what we can get for Glass Ankle and Cole...

Heard a rumour that Dalglish rates Jamie Carragher as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and will use him primarily as third choice

and he doesn't rate Sebastián Coates whatsoever, ideally Dalglish want to sell, now Dalglish know he can't sell Coates because no one knows anything about him so he is trying to send him out on loan to be in the shop window

then Dalglish what to buy Roger Johnson as back to Carragher

Speak to Wolves fans about Roger Johnson..

Roger johnson has been THE WORST CB in the league this year, why on earth would we sell coates, who has looked solid every time he has played, and buy roger johnson?

I second that comment

And the thought that you'd judge a YOUNG, South American defender after a handful of PL games is nonsense. Young defenders, especially centre-backs, take time to cement their place in a team. Look at some of the lessons Jones & Smalling have had this season and how Jonny Evans form has fluctuated over 3-4 yrs.

Carra is a living legend but his best days are past him now. Maybe use him as a sub every now and then but I wouldn't pick him for our starting 11 any more.

Coates might come good, who knows. Everyone used to slag Lucas off years ago and question his ability, now everyone rates him highly. Maybe Coates could be loaned out to get experience. That would make sense.

The curse of the sefton mafia

Hi Eds, is it true that kenny doesn't rate Coates? Reason I ask is because it is the second time I have heard this here. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what Dalglish thinks of him but it is well known that he has struggled to settle with the new culture and he has apparently found learning the language difficult.}

28 Apr 2012 08:39:37
They have resurfaced again, Honda on his way to LFC after talks broke down about possible move to Lazio. Can the EDs puit this one to rest once and for all. 1. Is there a genuine interest in him. 2. Do we need him considering next season Lucas & Adam will be back never mind Speering. 3. Shouldnt the money be spent on another CF? {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in respect of Honda.}

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are set to tussle over highly-rated Crewe youngster Nick Powell, who is rumoured to be available for around £1.5million

-----------

If this is true ed then surely Liverpool should be intrested in him, we should offer Crewe £6m for Powell & Clayton im sure Crewe would not turn it down.

Hi Eds,
yesterday K.D and S.C were scouting in France.
As someone who watched the game,i suspect that two players may have caught their eyes.
These are:
Etienne CAPOUÉ,23 and
Younes BELHANDA,22.
>Hope LFC to make a bid for the duo or for E.Capoué only[if LFC sign G.Ramirez] in the summer.
Y.N.W.A
Cheers.

Eds, do you know if interest remains in moussa sissoko even after comolli has left the club?

Thanks
Amz {Ed001's Note - seems to have faded.}

Which is a shame. Looks like a decent midfielder.

Who do you think Kenny was watching in particular at the match yesterday?
