I'd like to perform an experiment.
Dont know if its been done on here before?!
Very simple:
If any Liverpool FC player / staff / employee etc comes on here and sees what we say - can you please ask the other players to celebrate in a specific way next time they score a goal. Doesn't matter who scores the goal or who does the celebration. I'd like the five finger salute myself to be the celebration but would welcome any ideas (but needs to be finalised asap). The whole point of this would be that i would like the players to know that we are aware of their efforts to get things right, that we're right behind them & most importantly to let them know that we know the press are on their backs right now and we just want them to play their own game and ignore all the negative press and just believe in themselves. So the five finger salute is what i want with the player counting out 5 - pointing at each individual finger one at a time so we can clearly see it. Probably a bit of a mad idea but they need our support right now more than ever & i'd like them to know they have it.
Irish KevMay or may not work, but anybody got a celebration idea?
Imagine if we decided on one particular celebration idea and the players perform it next time we score.
That'd be class i think & would show that the players do listen & respect the fans opinions.
Its just an idea - feel free to come up with something or shoot it down but one way or another i need an idea set in stone by tomorrow at the latest to post it on here by Thursday so it may / may not happen vs Utrecht / Blackpool.
Cheers & remember its so the players know we are 100% behind them during this negative & rough period.

Good idea Irish Kev. I just hope the liverpool players/ staff don't read some of the negetive nonsense some so called supporters write on here. Five fingers is as good as any gesture. Lets try it out. You will have to post your post numerous times so all can see it.

Ed, to your knowledge - has this sort of thing been attempted before?
If so, did it work that the players did respond? {ed's note - I seem to remember them discussing it on Soccer AM, I believe a League One or Two team responded to a similar call from a forum. But I am not 100% certain on that.}

Just a thought - how many Liverpool fans have mortgages with RBS in the UK or in Ireland (Ulster Bank)?

I for one owe them €710k in mortgages. . what about if Liverpool fans withheld mortgage payments for three months. . .would that make them sit up and take the required action against the Yanks?

Banks understand Finance/ cash flow and basically anything that affects their bottom line. If there was 5,000 like minded people for example who had on average €250k mortgage debt with RBS (not a hugely unrealistic figure and number of people to drum up support from) - then the bank would have exposure of €1.25bn in debts that weren't performing v's €300m from the yanks. . .I know who'd i'd be listening to is i was the bank!

I think people are forgetting how much pull Liverpool supporters would have if we could just all get together and put some real pressure on the bank.

Protesting in the stands is great, but RBS now have the power over our great club. . .I'm willing to put pressure on them with what small way i could, but if we worked as a large group, they'd have to listen!

With amount of Liverpool fans in UK/ IE then the amount of money/ loans held in RBS is mind boggling compared to the yanks debts. .

Brian, LFC Fan Dublin.

I have been reading this site for some time and cannot believe some so called supporters. Granted we are in a very difficult transitional period with uncertainty all around us. However now is not the time to jump on the doom bus and blame the directors, managers or players. Just a month ago some people on this site were over the moon, optermistic and even bragging we were going to challenge for the league. The intelligent real hard core Liverpool supporter understands the situation we are in, and accepts it for what it really is. They are not calling for the managers head but supporting him. Roys job was always going to be very difficult, we were never going to get Augero, Villa or any other world class player until the sale of the club was complete. The real Liverpool supporters will stand tall and proud and support the manager and the squad (YNWA). I am a supporter of 35 years and have been through the great times and the bad times but have always supported the team, if you watched the match on Saturday you would have realised we are turning a corner and there are signs of a team beginning to form, Meirelles, cole, Gerrard and Torres are beginning to click. Maybe one or two more players and we will start to perform like we can, give Roy the time he needs and I am sure we will be OK. Support the team and don't fall into the trap of fickle fans of the likes of Chelsea and UTD, we have always prided ourselves on supporting the team so all you so called supporters who don't rate Torres, blame Carragher and call for Roys head should go and support Man City (its easier) but all the real Liverpool supporters support the club and the team. I feel passionate about my club and will always support them wherever they play, When the Yanks have gone I will be still standing PROUD in the KOP, watching the team I love, with the memory of a man who fought his whole life for the good of the club.
"Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say "We're Liverpool. The Late Great Bill Shankley

Evered

What do you think ED {ed's note - I have been disturbed by some of the things I have read recently. As if it is not bad enough that some people are still hanging on to Rafa and refusing to let go, despite it being clear he had taken the club as far as he could. But those same people, and many others too, are refusing to give Roy any kind of chance. It is impossible to judge a manager after a couple of league games.}

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton has the incentive of a £500,000 bonus if the troubled Barclays Premier League club is sold during his time at the helm.

British Airways boss Broughton's deal with the club's despised owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, runs until next April, which is now looking a more realistic deadline to find a buyer than next month's bank loan time limit of October 15.

Bank and Liverpool sources say the lucrative terms of Broughton's deal, which are in line with other City chairman incentives, will in no way affect his judgement in the hunt for suitable long-term owners of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the way chief executive Christian Purslow last week distanced the board from Hick's failed attempts to refinance nearly £300million of loans points to a new chapter in the sale saga starting if Royal Bank of Scotland and Wells Fargo call in their monies next month.

Prospective buyers are hardly likely to emerge until after then, when they will have the opportunity to buy the club at a reduced price of around £300m from the bank rather than give the Americans the big profit on their investment they are still looking for

I thought marin played amazing against totenham. The defenders couldn't cope with him at all. He dribbled in the same style as messi and benayoun, Where the ball is close to his feet when he dribbles and he twists in and out of players, he has pace, can score outside the box
Well anyway hes better than babel, jovanovic, maxi. So at least it would be an improvement. Quite a big improvement as well
We need two new wingers and a 20 goal a season striker (20mill+ quality),
Harry5

but you won't be getting him though! !

man utd
spurs
chelsea
arsenal
and man city are his choices should he come to england, i did wonder why spurs were second but then i read why! klinsmann with his love of spurs has told him to go to white hart lane should he go to england as did steffan fruend AND chritian ziege

[[[ i didn't say we would be getting him i merely stated that hes a good player. why would he care if klinnsmann played for spurs.
chritian ziege, hamann and babbel played for liverpool big woop.
also u think mancity would buy him; they have silva milner johnson swp. arsenal won't go for him. manutd owners are stingy at the moment. chelsea, malouda plays in his position i think. spurs maybe but only if there in the champions league regulary which is not guaranteed. liverpool maybe in jan if we have new owners, but we maybe looking at different or better players.

also i just looked at wiki to what languages hodgeson speaks and one is portuguese which i did not know and it most probably played a part in the meireles deal im sure. oh and guess what he can speak some german aswell.
(Hodgson is multilingual, able to speak fluent Norwegian, Swedish, Portuguese, and Italian as well as some German, Danish, French and Finnish).
which is pretty impressive if us ask me. not many people in the world speak that many languages! i certainly give him my respect for that.

What if the takeover isn't done before the 15th of october neither hicks get the money to refinance. What will RBS do in that case Ed? {ed's note - I don't know what they will do, but they can choose to extend the deadline and give more time for the club to be sold. Or they can choose to take possession of the club's assets which the loan was secured upon and sell them off. I very much doubt they would want to break up the club and sell anything off separately though, that would severely damage them at a time when they are already struggling. The last thing they need is to have a bunch of people closing their accounts and taking them elsewhere.}

Of course the owners heard the protests.they have been hearing them from day 1.Dont think it makes a difference to them though, they are not real people, they are hard nose c* nt buisnessmen.
other news ive heard that hicks was trying to re-finance for just 30 days, to ensure that he would have sufficient time to sell the club, without fear of banks stepping in mid-october.They both want out. . and there grasping at straws so they can make a tiny bit of profit, although the club is set to be sold for near £350m.
hopefully we are near the end of this crap and start

Is it me or does it seem that Roy still thinks he's managing Fulham? He seems content with a point at Brum and at home to Sunderland. .!?
It's obvious to every single Pool fan that we have no width and cannot attack down the flanks - Maxi (£3m), Jova (£2m) and Babel (£7m) are useless and need to be sold asap to raise funds for Jan.
Ed. - we must have some funds left over for Jan:-
Sold Bought
Nikolay Mihaylov £1.5 Cole £0
Reira £5 Shelvey £1.5
Masch £23 Wilson £2
Yossi £5 Meireles £10.5
San Jose £2.5 Poulsson £4
Dossena £4 Greek £2
Veronin £2 Maxi £2
So I make it £43 out since last Jan, and only £22 back in. . .so even if £5m went to pay off Rafa and a couple of mil went to J Cole as a Golden Handshake, there should still be almost £15m available IF all money from sales is going back into strengthening the squad. .!?

{Editor's Note: You also need to take account of any additional wages - as they also come out of the transfer budget, any additional agents fees, and probably the £10M stage payments for Johnson and Aquilani. It is never as simple as adding the incoming and outgoing fees.}

Dear ed pls post this to see how ppl will pick it as likely n unlikely. fans out there pls do give opinon. click likely
if u all prefer wat i thought n unlikely if u all don't think it's a good idea. thak you.

Well this in an own opinion, ,
looking through e current situation it seems we are going no where. we struggle to win against brhgm city, sunderland. this is not lfc's playing style. lack of chemistry among players. lack of attacks, creativity. missed players like benoyoun. he was a kind who use to turn the game more interesting with his classy work. the midfield anchors r not there as well.if gerard plays as 2nd striker, the strikers will be having trouble getting in passes and crosses from middle of table. we seen gerard palying up n down this whole season, if this continues he might just be too tired or even get injured. r. meireless (spelling) is trying to adjust hmself into the team, but needs time. i hope this is not a last minute signing tat will turn like aqua.
looking to torres, i feel it's better to let him go, not coz he's not scoring or lack of passe, but coz we need goals to win. we may use tat money to buy new players, but option should only apply if we cannot get a new owner n if it gone be for 60-70mil.
btw about johnson, i feel he sholud play as rw compare to rb, he's lack in defence, but good in attack.

players we need to buy without any fund should be:
honda: 12-16mil
arbeloa (rb/ lb) 5mil
toivonon/ gomez/ benzema 15mil

sell players like
lucas 6mil
babel 8-10mil
maxi 4 mil
n if we had 15mil from e last season sale, we will have totall of 35mil to spend.

e squad should look like:
4-2-3-1
reina
arbeloa carragher agger konchesky
gerard meireles
johnson honda j.cole/ kuyt(prefered)
torres/ new strker (till torres is back to his form)

or
reina
johnson carra agger arbeloa
gerrad meireless
kuyt honda j.cole
torres/ new striker

coz konchesky stil looks poor.
if can have pre-agreement wit taiwo so he can come free next season n tat way arbeloa will play as rb, n taiwo as lb while johnson as rw.

but if there is a sale of club
buy all of the above again sell all e same n also sell
jovanovic 2-5mil
poulsen 2-5mil

so tat will add i another lets say 6mil.
we will be holding around 40mil from sale
n from owners depends. (if buy ann player whic is important n logical price)

get
lassana diara 20mil
honda 14-16mil
benzema/ toinovon 15mil
taiwo 7mil
arda turan 14mil
arbeloa 5-7mil

next season
sell johnson (15mil) dependind how arbeloa perfoms as rb.
get ashley young (25ml)
n later on depends on e ownner.

dharamjit randhawa is no friend of any liverpool football club staff, don't hang around any ftball players or any1 around hearing rumoursfrom other, . it just a personal view from him, , i hope atleast e 1st few changes happens as above list without e new owner, , so we can get atleast get back to top 4.

YNWA. hope to see we rise again. RABH RAKHA

Talk on here again of young Marko Marin. Marin is a player that a lot of big clubs - Liverpool included - have kept a very close eye on. In Liverpool's case right back to when he was 16 at Eintracht. There seems to be something about his game that the big clubs have their doubts about and it seems that although they (Liverpool included) pay a lot of attention to him they remain to be convinced. I wonder if it's possibly his height? Or his seeming lack of stamina perhaps?

Doubtless there will be somone on here who knows what it is that keeps the big clubs interested but fundementally uncommitted.

Most of the so called fans are going crazy at the moment. Now they are linking up liverpool to a pakistani millionaire. Wtf pakistan. They are broke big time man. That country was just hit with hurricane and floods.

{Editors Note: Dan, I deleted your little jokes about what would happen at training and if Lucas played badly if the club was owned by Pakistani investors. Obviously you think there's a link to 9/11, but for you to associate a nation and it's people with that terrible event is evidence that you aren't thinking clearly. However in the interests of keeping fair comment alive I'm posting the edited version}

But hate that 9/ 11 incident, lost my beloved uncle.

Liverpool scouts are reported to be monitoring Juan Manuel Mata of Valencia. A 15 million bid will be enough to snatch him up. But looking at the current situation, there is a big question where is this 15 million gonna come from.? {Editor's Note. You are correct. At the moment the club has no funds for transfers unless it sells players or unless the ownership and financing mess is sorted out. With October 15th looming things may become a little clearer.}

Roy looking to bring in a wide man with Wayne Routledge from DATOOON £8M

If this it true then sack Roy Hodgson now! Wayne f*!king Routeledge is sh*te and it would be a nightmare to see him in our red shirt. Good G*d Wayne Routeledge to Liverpool is the last thing I need to hear on a Monday morning. Please Please please tell we are not sinking to that level of desperation

Its seems to be that hollwood is going come to recue of Liverpool football club, Clive Owen is massive liverpool fan and wants to make sure that liverpool does not go out of business come 6th Oct.

Clive and Jerry Bruckheimer have been looking in to the purchase of LFC. Jerry Bruckheimer; mr hollywood is looking to build on his tv, movie success with adventure into sports media. Would see LFC as a great content for his new digial media platform.
