Liverpool working on a number of signing's and I have heard that as many as 6 players may well be signed. Especially if as expected Carroll and Skrtel seal big money moves out of the club.

Not saying any of our key defenders will leave but I just had a phone call from someone in Boston that is a close friend of lfc owners.
Anyway what I have just been told is that man city have enquired about 1 of our cb make your own mind up which one. The enquiry was simply testing that water to see if lfc are interested. A some of money was mentioned but the enquiry was a cash plus player deal. The player city are offering is aj. I will probably get slated for saying this because he's is a decent player but I wouldn't want to see aj in a red shirt.
The boy comes with far to much off the field baggage. I can also confirm that Gaston Ramirez will not be joining Liverpool. Again I will get slated but all theese people on here making him sound like a world beater. He had an average season at best. Yes he has pace and a great touch but come on people stop watching YouTube and deciding players are good enough for a red shirt. I also understand that Suarez wants to stay at lfc and repay the fans for their support.

So Junior Hoilett has signed for QPR. Thats another player we've lost out on. Hoilett, Diame, De Jong, Powell, Davis, Kalou, Caulker, Sigurdsson, Martinez just to name a few.
What is Rodgers actually doing apart from talking a good game? Oh yeah, He wasted 11m on Borini, A player who has had bad injuries and as has only played 33 times in 4 seasons. And now he's gonna waste 15m on Joe Allen. What a joke. I think rodgers is too small time. He needs to realise he can go after players that havnt played at Swansea before. I can't really c how any of these players would be such a big loss, there are other players that we can get cheap and doesn't demand such a huge wage. FSG doesn't want over payed players in the squad and all of these players where demanding a big wages since they where free transfers. In my opinion we have players in our academy that are bigger prospects than any of those so rather give them the chance in the first team!

Ok, i dont really have a take on whether we were interested in some of the players or not, but to call Brendan Rodgers "small time", the way i see it, Rodgers is more "big time" compared to many managers at top clubs. Can you tell me any manager who has atleast 15 yrs coaching experience and manages a top club. There arent so many beyond coaches like Mourinho, AVB, Guardiola etc. Even Wenger himself i guess might not have had coaching experience of the 20yrs Brendan boasts about. Secondly, you do notice that Swansea may have finished some 2 points behind us, that also with a sqaud full of average players. You really dont support LFC do you??. Is it that Man Utd fans are so peaheaded that they cant bear that we might actually have a decent chance of getting back into CL which means trophy number 6 is on its way??. (2) After a few pre-season games, how do you rate Pacheco in terms of fitting into Rodgers' system?

JJD {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao in January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Napoli and Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Malaga interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Admittedly, this is not the most reliable source but 'The Moose' on Talksport (whoever the hell he is!) has just reported that liverpool officials were in Manchester last night looking at both Ramirez and Cavani, and that Ramirez looks the most likely to join.
It's probably bs but I thought I'd pass it on for those who didn't hear it.

The moose has literally been wrong on every bit of LFC transfer business/speculation this summer. he didn't just say we wanted klopp, he said we were signing klopp, there was a deal done, etc

Whoever says that FSG isnt behind LFC is dumb. They pulled us out of a heaping pile of debt, Ed's can I get a specific # for this? They've invested significant money into this team and haven't seen a tremendous return yet but have faith in us and BR. Stop being a negative nancy, nobody likes those people.
I think FSG are all wrong for LFC. They haven't spent as much as people think in the transfer market. And the same is happening now. They just can't compete with the top clubs. Liverpool need owners with much deeper pockets.

As I recall, FSG paid roughly 300M for LFC. Club lost roughly another 50M in 2010-11 which the owners covered largely with an interest free loan to the club (this is pretty unusual, BTW). Club has expected losses of about the same for 2011-12, not sure how that is being covered. So, the owners have made roughly -100M since the acquisition was completed- which is most definitely not a tremendous profit...

Yes fsg saved Liverpool when they bought us, they have spent a lot of money since on below par players, hence the clear out of staff, yet if they want a top four finish they not gonna get one with out spending on proven talent. U can say all u want about not havin the money, not willing to pay too much not paying too much wages, nothing is certain yet but man u man city Chelsea spurs are all buying or showing signs of buying quality players, fsg are goin to have to match this or we gonna be no where near good enough. They've aitted that the players they sanctioned under Kenny just aren't good enough, so they need to put their vast amount of money into buying players that are good enough now so we can challenge and bring our young players through properly. If they can do it for Boston base ball team y not us?
Sigh.... That 'Boston base ball team' is making money (i.e. is profitable) and LFC is not (i.e. is already costing the owners money every day).
You cannot compare what they may or may not do for one team to the other. When and if LFC is actually not costing them a ton of money, I imagine we may see some of the profits being used to fund 'bigger' transfers. Until then, it's really pretty unlikely to happen.

West hams reported 17mil bid for Liverpool is likely to force Newcastle to also bid for the player. Likely that carroll will go back to Newcastle (preferred destination and unfinished business.(price 18mil plus addons) Liverpool will use the money to bid for gaston Ramirez but face competition from tottenham and man city. BR will then look at strikers but signing is likely to occur during the end of transfer window.
Interestingly all media reports suggest lfc as the front runner, of course without any strong convictions. Perhaps because of our persistent interest in the past. However, Spurs and City are not so confidently mentioned either. Arsenal would be unlikely to spend that amount. It may also be possible that the agent is talking up to increase Inter's bid!

Gaston Ramirez has absolutley no bearing on the Andy Carroll deal. The Carroll money will be used for a replacement striker should a deal be agreed.....trust me mate.

Been told by a jurno mate bids will be made for Carroll,Skrtel,Suarez,Johnson and Flanagan.The Flanagan bid would be a possible loan deal also Coady may be loaned out and a few others with championship sides showing interest. Not sure if its true or if we will accept any bids. Also been told Rodgers is amazed some of our kids have not been on loan yet.
I can reluctantly see his point re Andy but would suggest it has to be a cash deal, no messing about. I would be very sad to see Skrtle or Suarez leave .

Have it from a reliable source, that LFC have enquired about Ramaries and Sturridge at Chelsea.
A straight 'not for sale' response for Ramaries (shame) but an offer has been encouraged for Sturridge - No idea of the fee.

According to "Twitter" the bid by West Ham for Andy Carroll is 2 million pounds plus full wages for a 1 year loan.
If West Ham are not relegated they will pay Liverpool a further 16 million pounds and Andy will be theirs permanently.

I would say it would be similar to the tevez utd deal at the time,basically whatever west ham pay AC in wages over and above 50k,the rest comes of the bill at the end of the season so that brings the transfer fee down to around 16.5mil,but if west ham renege on the deal e.g. they go down,major injury,cant settle in london or he doesnt perform then lfc will be left with an expensive white elefant they will be lucky to offload for 12mil.if this deal goes ahead it smacks of desperation to me

Bad news: Liverpool are bracing themselves for a surprise 15m+unknown player deal for Martin Skrtel from Man City. Though Rodgers has already started showing interest in other replacements. Simon Kjaer tops the list for the replacements. (LiverpoolEcho.co.uk)
15m plus a choice of Man City players? Sounds a good deal to me, Im sure JH and TW will agree. I said weeks ago on here Skrtel will leave and we will replace him with a cheaper player.

Doesn't sound like particularly bad news to me, depending on who the player offered is obviously. I would be tempted to accept 15million straight up for Skrtel anyway, and would bite their hands off at 18-20million. Add to this the fact that Martin seems restless with the club at the moment, maybe its best to move him on. Kjaer would be a quality replacement. This is all conjecture assuming this rumour is true ofcourse, I personally feel Martin Skrtel will still be a Liverpool player this coming season.

Why would we need to replace him as a first team starter? We have Martin Kelly who has really shone when he's had the chance he'd be great as a regular starter. Skrtel may be the muscle of our defence, but Agger is the brains, and losing him would be a much more significant loss in my opinion. And what is with Adam Johnson? Why not buy a team from another leagues best player who has the potential to be awesome, rather than a team who were meant to be competing with's dead wood? I know there is the risk, and Johnson has PL experience, but so do Downing and Adam, and whilst I don't think they are as terrible as people on here would give you the impression they are, they haven't replicated the form they've shown at their previous clubs.
I hope Martin doesn't go but I think £15m plus is a good price. It will not be Johnson - think about it - he must be worth at least £10m if not more which would mean the deal's around £25m. Might be wayne bridge ;( or santa cruz?

Micah Richards and Adam Johnson are both each worth more than Skrtel so why would City be the one's parting with cash? Bridge is past it and has a ridiculously high salary. If this story was true which I doubt it is, then Perhaps Savic or Boyota plus £10m/£12m would be closer to the mark.

If it is De Jong, I'd go back with a counter offer of £15M straight. De Jong is a chap who would expected decent wages and wouldn't add to our squad. Skrtel is an okay played but only okay so £15M would do just nicely. Can't see why City would be interested though.
